No Im not, but my husband who works at lowes in delaware (which is in state of emergency) has to work a closing shift tonight....I dont understand that, how is it that NOBODY is supposed to be on the Roads but want all there employees to be working (because they are essential). This really doesnt make any sense to me!

Anonymous said...

hubby is working from home...

Anonymous said...

Yes, for at least a little while

Anonymous said...

Yes Our business has been open every day. I am the owner so I am not putting employees at risk. I slept on an air mattress to be sure this business would be open.
Thank you good customers.

Actually......I am stuck at work and cannot leave to go home. Even if soneone manages to come in to relieve me, I'm not sure if my car will make it home without getting stuck. aaaahhhhh, might as well accept it and hope we thaw out soon.

Anonymous said...

Yes, from home.

Better question... does Joe ever work? Answer NO

Anonymous said...

Yes , I am the only one working . I had to send my workers home due to the road conditions. It is very quite and lonely . Sucks

anonymous 9:51, one thing I can assure you is that I put in more hours per day and more days per week then you have ever even attempted to put forth in your lifetime. All for FREE, all to serve the community.

Anonymous said...

No... Watching Grandchildren.

Jealous much? Better question did you get your welfare check in the mail before the snow started?

joealbero said...

Yes-no word yet as to when we might be able to leave-it is possible that the word may not come until 5pm!!!! lol

Anonymous said...

No, they told us just before leaving last night that we would be closed. Yeah. Will not have to fight the snow to get home

Anonymous said...

Yes. My boss would never let me take a sick day or personal day for snow. So if I want to get paid here I sit.

And I will be working tonight as well. If I can get the van unstuck that is.

Anonymous said...

Im working on a happy mood.

Anonymous said...

my friends at Best Buy are working.

Anonymous said...

As long as we have electricity I can work...at home..on computer..

Anonymous said...

No, thankfully I have put in my long time of employment and am retired. As a past State employee, I have no furlough days, politics, deployment etc.

Anonymous said...

i'm working today, but my place of employment is closing at noon. so they're sending us home right in the middle of this crap, instead of closing the whole day. yeah that's smart.

Anonymous said...

Yes! Getting ready to plow snow again!

Anonymous said...

Online job (check your iste in between assignments).

Also homeschooling.

Feeding my farm animals.

Anonymous said...

TDP is right...how can all of these people say they are "working" when they are actually goofing off on the Internet???

Anonymous said...

Yes, from home.

Anonymous said...

No. It is like a blizzard outside. Whoever makes their employees come in while the weather is like this is an a$$. If somebody got stranded, ended up in an accident, or died because they were forced to travel in this mess that would be a tragedy.

Anonymous said...

11:27 have you ever heard of break time or lunch time?

Anonymous said...

The Superintendent of Wicomico county waited until 17 min before our start time to change from a 2hr delay to cancellation for central office and facilities employees....so I showed up after driving in this mess just to be turned around and sent home. I hope he realizes he risked lives this morning. Some people don't live in this county and have to commute.

Scott Phoebus said...

No off today.

Anonymous said...

Not working. I am a non-essential State employee. :(

Alex said...

Nope we are closed today. Ollies actually cares about their associates and doesn't want them to risk themselves so the store can open.

Anonymous said...

11:48 But I bet he told you in 2 languages. Buenos dias.

Anonymous said...

No but only because I was scheduled off.

Anonymous said...

Heck no. By the way, is there a show at 6 o'clock today?

Anonymous said...

"anonymous 9:51, one thing I can assure you is that I put in more hours per day and more days per week then you have ever even attempted to put forth in your lifetime. All for FREE, all to serve the community"

Joe, you are right! You probably do! I put in only 40 hrs per week... that's it! And bring home 120k. Thank you federal gov't... cause I do! lol

Theres the problem right there.

Anonymous said...

No

Anonymous said...

yes, think I'm going to spend the night here.

Anonymous said...

No, they closed my business yesterday

Anonymous said...

9:51...you aren't worth $120k.

Our tax dollars wasted again.

Anonymous said...

"doug wilkerson said...
Theres the problem right there."

Where Doug? That I work 40 hrs per work for over 100k per year? I guess that's what I get for going to college and applying myself.

Anonymous said...

I'm a teacher, so, for that job, no. On the other hand, 3 school age children plus a toddler and one on the way - a day at home is not quite a day "off", but I'm loving it! Keep it up, snow !

Anonymous said...

Anon1226 -

Oh ok. If you knew what I did, then you might say Thank you. But I don't expect it from the bitter crew on this board.

Get a TS security clearance and maybe you can do the same.

doug wilkerson said...

12:34 just the attitude, I didnt go to college and have doubled that in a year, show you the tax records if you dont believe me.

doug wilkerson said...

Ill give you this, it has been awhile.

Anonymous said...

Anon1245 - I really could care less. I was called out by Joe. So I stated my facts.

You can double my salary all you want... and also double my hours! I'll take that extra time with the family. Thanks

doug wilkerson said...

I hear you, I did lose alot of family time during those years. I was young and worked my butt off. Times change, its part of life I quess. I just thought that you kinda made it sound like you were rubbing peoples faces in it. Im sure you invested alot in your education and your career, I dont doubt that at all. I dont want to argue with you.
