Twenty-seven semifinalists have been announced for the 2008-09 Wicomico Teacher of the Year Program. They will be interviewed by a panel of judges this week and a winner will be named at the March 17 Teacher of the Year Banquet.
All 27 semifinalists and the 75 other nominees have been invited to attend the banquet in Salisbury University's Commons, starting at 6 p.m. March 17. Interim Superintendent Thomas B. Field and Board President Robin H. Holloway will announce and congratulate a finalist in each category (primary, intermediate, middle and high), then name the new Wicomico Teacher of the Year.
