Within an hour of posting the latest Banking Fatality yet another one emerges. Regulators just shut down Security Pacific Bank in California making this the 19th banking fatality this year.
SBYnews originally predicted approximately 15 banks would go under as a result of sinking real estate assets. We were wrong. . .it's worse than than our original estimates.

ANOTHER BANK BITES THE DUST
Folks, once again it's Friday night and just like clock work the Feds have seized another bank.
This makes the 18th Bank seizure by Government this year. This AP report was released less than 34 minutes ago, but as usual SBYnews is right on top of it.
This one will only cost the FDIC about 1.4 - 1.6 billion dollars.
The latest fatality is Franklin Bank of Houston Texas. And once again, they moved-in right after the bank closed on this Friday evening.

Some Of My Favorite People In The Whole World
When I spoke to Fernando Guerrero on the phone and told him my Wife and Stacy Sakai were coming by the Dog Show, all of a sudden Fernando became the biggest animal lover on the Planet! It was not only a pleasure to have him come visit the Dog Show as well, it was an honor to have him there and so many people were grateful for him showing up as well as Stacy.
Here's what bothers me though. Fernando has a big Billboard on Rt. 13. Stacy has a Billboard on Rt. 13 but Joe the Blogger has NOTHING! Well, at least I have a goal now. One day when I become somebody, I'll know it when I'm up on one of those big old Billboards. LOL
You never know who you're going to run into at the Salisbury Kennel Club Dog Show.
A Special Happy Birthday Today To Stacy Sakai
Today is Stacy Sakai's Birthday. Stacy is a major animal lover and came to visit Jennifer and I at the Civic Center to see the DOG SHOW today before heading off to New York to see a Broadway Play.
Please Folks, if you have time to spare or you're looking for something to do this afternoon/evening and or Saturday and Sunday, visit the Salisbury Kennel Club Dog Show and show your support.
Thanks for coming by Stacy and Happy Birthday.

Salisbury Blvd. when the deputy observed a vehicle parked, unattended, in front of the store. The deputy observed that the keys had been left in the ignition, the engine was running and that loud music was coming from the vehicle. The deputy waited until the vehicle operator, Kashawn Fooks, exited the store and then spoke with the operator about the violations the deputy observed. While speaking with Fooks, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. The deputy searched the vehicle and located a bag containing what the deputy recognized as marijuana in the center console.

California's Prop 8
"Joe
I was on CNN.com and was watching the ireport about California passing prop 8, and after the last few days of actually feeling proud to be an American (for the first time in many years), some of the comments left by people viewing the story made me feel sick. That just 2 days ago the country could come together and elect an African American man as president and still be this closed minded and hateful towards gays is truly a sad day for this country. Im not a very religious person (i don't actively practice any mainstream religion) but i believe that if you live a good life and don't steal, commit adultery, lie, commit murder and don't have hate in your heart towards people that are different from you, you will be just fine in this world and what ever may come when you pass on. Anyway about 2 pages into the comments there was a person that, i felt made his point without hate in his heart, and truly expressed what the meaning of this great country is, here is his post."

This is almost the year 2009 (not the 1950's) and Right Wing White Christian America needs to grow some compassion already. If you are hateful enough to vote to ban gay marriages, why don't you go ahead and try and make gay people sit in the back of the bus, and use separate water fountains and restrooms. Why don't you put up signs in restaurants the say "No Gays"... hell, why not try and get Congress to classify them as "Less Than Human" or "Sub-Human" - because by making a law that keeps someone from being able to mary the person that they love, you are saying that they are less than human, because they don't have the same rights as every OTHER human.
GROW UP AMERICA... your old fashioned ancient religions don't govern society anymore...
and I'm sick of the argument " well, if two men can get married, how am I supposed to explain that to my child?" That's the rudest argument of all... You're basically saying someone can't mary the person they love simply because you don't want to have to explain it to your child? Feel free to tell your children that gay marriage is wrong, or whatever beliefs you want to instill in your child, but YOU CAN'T DENY ANYONE THERE BASIC RIGHTS AS A HUMAN BEING... and marrying the one you love is one of those rights. If you vote to ban gay marriage, you are trampling on Freedom, and our forefathers will roll over in their graves."
I've not been reading your blog long enough to have caught your views on gays, but from your posts in the last few days, I'm hoping that your open minded enough right now to post this and maybe make people think for once less about how other peoples actions may make them look and how their actions are making them look to the rest of the world.
Thank you,
Chris

THE DAILY TIMES ON THE PROWL
"Joe:
The Daily Slime is on the prow.
FYI I heard Greg Bassett say on WQMR radio during Tuesday's broadcast that The Daily Times was going to start a new bloggers site.
He didn't mention your name specifically, but, I know what he's up to. His paper is losing market share big time and he wants to mimic your site in hopes of drawing new business."

Time Saver
This a time-saving chore that will clean both the commode and kitty:
1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash' and rinse'.
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.
Sincerely,
The Dog

Sincerely,
The Dog
The Boy & The Father
A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he wore his collar backwards. The man, who was a priest, said, ' I am a Father. '
The little boy replied, ' My Daddy doesn't wear his collar like that. '
The priest looked up from his book and answered, ' ' I am the Father of many. '
The boy said, ' ' My Dadhas 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way! '
The priest, getting impatient, said. ' I am the Father of hundreds ' , and went back to reading his book.
The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, Maybe you should wear a condom and put your pants on backwards instead of your collar.

Chief Alan Webster Throws Another Fit
Last week when the States Attorney's Office was hosting a Press Conference on a drug bust, Chief Webster threatened to walk out of the Press Conference if they allowed Joe Albero to be present.
Ever since his lawsuit started against me, notice how the Salisbury Police Department hasn't had one single Press Conference at Police Headquarters. This is because the Judge DID consider Salisbury News Main Stream Media and the City must allow me to be present at any such said Press Conferences. Granted, I was not protected by the Shield Law because I never took a salary from Salisbury News. However, the Judge did consider me MSM.
Webster has made sure nothing has been held in their location because he knows I'll be tipped off immediately and proceed to walk through the doors. If they deny me, there will be an immediate lawsuit so rather than getting in a pickle, they have chosen to host Press Conferences elsewhere and then he threatens to walk out if I show up. WAH, WAH, WAH!
While I was invited to attend, I chose to be the bigger and better man and stayed away from the last one. However, I can assure you, this will not happen again. Chiefy is just going to have to get used to the fact that this City IS big enough for the two of us and his little baby games just ended.
There was a more recent situation where Chiefy challenged a friend of mine with being in my presence and quite frankly this didn't sit very well with my friend either. Webster's obsession with me is clearly making him look like a fool and extremely immature. Grow up Chief! How many times will you be called a LOSER before you get the fact that no one supports you?
Oh, so all of you know. The Press Conference I didn't attend because of Chiefy's Hissy Fit, I still had the news out hours before anyone else.
Question of the Day, Fri 11/7
Tomorrow is International Tongue Twister Day.
definition of tongue twister - A sequence of words, often alliterative, difficult to articulate quickly.
Do you have one that you can say?
Here's a few:
I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witches wish, I wouldn't wish the wish you wish to wish.
I thought a thought, but the thought I thought wasn't the thought I thought I thought. If the thought the thought I thought had been the thought I thought, I wouldn't have thought so much.
If one doctor doctors another doctor does the doctor who doctors the doctor doctor the doctor the way the doctor he is doctoring doctors? Or does the doctor doctor the way the doctor who doctors doctors?
A skunk sat on a stump and thunk the stump stunk, but the stump thunk the skunk stunk.

WICOMICO PUBLIC FOREST IN DANGER
A publicly owned forest is in danger of being clear-cut if ITS OWNERS, the citizens of Wicomico County, do nothing about it. The forest is part of a 350-acre parcel purchased by the county using state funds from Program Open Space. The forest contains numerous species typical in our native mixed forests: pine, yes, but also oak, dogwood, beech, holly, sweet gum, magnolia, and many other plant species, and deer, woodpeckers, raccoons, turtles, voles, skunks, and hawks. This forest should be left alone for the benefit of humans and other living things. It is absorbing carbon, producing oxygen, and filtering rainwater into the aquifer.
But right now a bulldozer sits in this forest. It is there because Wicomico County and the Army Corps of Engineers are testing this site as a place to dump mud from the next phase of a Corps project dredging the Wicomico River. The bulldozer is there to clear a path for the core driller, and the core driller is there to check the soil and the aquifer level before clear-cutting the forest to create a dump site for the dredge spoils begins.
When an Army Corps of Engineers employee was asked if the Corps or the county's Public Works Department were planning to cut the forest, he replied, "Only on the inside." Thirty acres or so. That's a larger area than you'd think. This is what will happen if we let it.
Wicomico County has not yet decided where to locate the dredge spoils dump, but this forest land is one of the few options it is still considering. If you don't want to lose this forest, you should call or write to anyone you know in the county government. John Redden (Acting Director of Public Works, 410-548-4810), Gary Mackes (Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, 410-548-4900, ext. 106), and Jim Grindle
(Public Works civil engineer overseeing the spoils dump facility project, 410-548-4810) would be good people to talk to. If you are not satisfied with what they tell you, you can call your county council member or Rick Pollitt, the County Executive (410-548-4800). Tell them to build the dredge spoils dump facility on a field instead of cutting the forest. Request that they have a plan for the Pirates Wharf Park
before destroying its forest.
The county has promised that it will not make a final decision before holding a public meeting. WET will keep you informed by email when a date is set for that meeting, and we encourage you to attend and make your views known to county officials.
If you want to get involved and make a difference, this is a good way to do so. If you want to see the forest, drive 2.5 miles down Whitehaven Road from Nanticoke Road and start counting telephone poles. Across from the fourth pole is a trail into the forest. Remember, THIS FOREST BELONGS TO YOU.

Woman And A Fork
There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.
Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly. 'What's that' came the Pastor's reply. 'This is very important,' the young woman continued. 'I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.'
The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say. 'That surprises you, doesn't it?' the young woman asked. 'Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor. The young woman explained. 'My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'
So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder 'What's with the fork?' Then I want you to tell them: 'Keep your fork, the best is yet to come.'
The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.
At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, 'What's with the fork?' And over and over he smiled.
During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork, and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either.
He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. Cherish the time you have, and the memories you share. Being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

Obama Not Paying Campaign Workers
Hey Joe
Thought I would send you this link about Obama campaign workers not getting paid. I also found it interesting that for 3 hours of work they were given a 30 dollar prepaid Visa card. No taxes taken out?
