Dollar General In Salisbury

JOE- I have rarely in my 70+ years made a complaint about a store or business. But this is #2 for me Yesterday I went into the Dollar General @ 1005 Rt 13 North store to make some purchases for a bingo group that meets in Salisbury. The prizes furnished are around a dollar or so that everyone can afford. This location hasn't been opened long .I think about maybe a year and a half. The store floor was so filthy the light color was almost like walnut stain smeared everywhere but it was just filthy. The isles were littered so badly you could not get down any of them with their little shopping carts, and I mean LITTERED to the extreme, like a tornado had gone through. The shelves were not stocked the items on them were like they had been thrown. Containers of shampoos and body wash items were sticky and dirty, in fact everything was dirty, torn and rummaged through, you would think items that were sparse would have been stocked more or removed for something else. It seems like the place has been severely neglected for quite sometime, either they need new management or shut this location down. I do know the location in Fruitland is very clean, always stocked, all aisles straightened and I believe this location has been opened longer than the one at 1005 Rt 13 North. It is a nice store to find nice stuff at reasonable prices and always the ones working are pleasant. I don't know how to report the other to the health dept but I hope someone does as the location could benefit a lot of people, and I would hate to see any business close.

Longtime Democratic strategist Donna Brazile joins Fox News as a contributor

Former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile is Fox News’ newest contributor, the network announced on Monday.

Brazile will offer political analysis on both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, making her debut Monday on “The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino.”

"I'm delighted to be joining Fox News. I know I'm going to get criticized from my friends in the progressive movement for being on Fox News. My response is that, if we've learned anything from the 2016 election, it is that we can't have a country where we don't talk to those who disagree with our political views,” Brazile said in a statement.

Brazile – a longtime Democratic strategist -- was the interim National Chair of the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 presidential election and has served as chair of the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute and was vice chair of the DNC’s Civic Engagement and Voter Participation. She participated in every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000 and will now bring her expertise to cable news.

Media Silence Surrounds Muslim Massacre of Christians

Political leaders and public figures were falling over themselves this weekend to condemn the mosque attacks in New Zealand, while dozens of Christians were slaughtered by Muslims in Nigeria to the sound of crickets.

The mosque attacks were indeed a horrific affair and worthy of universal condemnation. Presidents, prime ministers, royalty, and religious leaders rushed to extend their condolences to victims and their families — as well they should — while decrying the hate that purportedly motivated the shootings.

Without exception, the mainstream media gave top billing to the shootings, with newspapers carrying the story on their front pages and television news channels leading off their broadcasts with the story.

Here’s Why Donald Trump Still Does Not Like John McCain

President Donald Trump explained why he did not like the late Senator John McCain, listing reasons why on Wednesday after taking the stage at an Ohio battle tank factory.

Trump asked the hundreds of gathered employees if he should talk about his ongoing feud with the deceased senator. After several of the employees shouted “Yes!” Trump continued, “I have to be honest. I never liked him much. Hasn’t been for me. I really probably never will.”

Here is Trump’s list of grievances:

1) McCain helped distribute the phony Russia dossier to the FBI and the media

Trump said:

John McCain received the fake and phony dossier, it was paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton. And John McCain got it. He got it And what did he do? He didn’t call me, he turned it over to the FBI hoping to put me in jeopardy and that’s not the nicest thing to do … because I’m a very loyal person.

Maryland authorities could face open defiance if new gun laws pass, including from one of their own

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A Maryland-grown gun rights movement called “We Will Not Comply” is promising open defiance of any new gun control laws that may pass in the state.

Followers include the elected Sheriff of rural Wicomico County on the Eastern Shore who has promised neither he nor his deputies will enforce the laws.

“If these bills pass, we will not comply,” Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis said in a speech to supporters seen in a video posted to YouTube.

The “We Will Not Comply” movement started by a Second Amendment advocacy group called the Patriot Picket has gained steam as the 2019 session of the General Assembly has unfolded.

Members of Patriot Picket clad in “We Will Not Comply” T-shirts have been familiar faces on sidewalks and in hearing rooms for months.

Hogan: Not acting on Baltimore violent crime 'is outrageous & unacceptable'

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) - Asked about anti-crime bills moving through the Maryland General Assembly, Gov. Larry Hogan again blasted the staggering violent crime in Baltimore City and said "it's outrageous and unacceptable" to not be tough on violent offenders.

"It's very, very frustrating to me, because the violent crime, which has taken over Baltimore City, is something that is not only of critical important to the residents of Baltimore City, who are afraid to live in their own neighborhoods, but it's of concern to people all across the state," said Hogan at this morning's press conference.

"We have a bill to try to push tough sentencing [for] repeat violent offenders, who have multiple times been convicted of committing a felony with a gun, and it's not getting any traction," he continued.

Trump Blasts "Low IQ" Biden After Former VP Accidentally Announces His Candidacy

Capitalizing on a verbal stumble by the former VP over the weekend, President Trump has officially unveiled his nickname for Joe Biden: "Low IQ Individual"

As a reminder, The Hill reported that during a speech in Delaware to members of the state Democratic Party, Biden argued that criticism from members of the "New Left," a term used to define progressive who align with principle espoused by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) during his 2016 presidential campaign, was unfounded.

"I'm told I get criticized by the 'New Left,' " Biden told the audience. "I have the most progressive record of anybody running for the ... anybody who would run."

Young People’s Embrace of Socialism Shows Why We Shouldn’t Lower the Voting Age

The left really wants to give kids the right to vote.

This idea is so popular on the left that a majority of House Democrats voted in favor of lowering the voting age to 16.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., endorsed the idea as well.

Why would Pelosi and others on the left want to give high school children—hardly known for deep wisdom and sound judgment—a vote?

A new poll perhaps demonstrates why.

The Harris Poll, released exclusively by Axios, shows that roughly half of young Americans say they would prefer living in a socialist country.

New Zealand PM announces ban on semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced Thursday all assault weapons and "military-style automatic weapons" would be banned in the wake of last week's mosque shootings in Christchurch that left 50 people dead. Ardern said she expects the new law to be in place by April 11 and buy-back programs will be put in place for banned weapons.

Ardern said the shooting suspect had purchased his weapons legally and a "simple online purchase" of 30-round magazines had enhanced their capacity. Ardern said all semi-automatic used during the attack would be banned.

"I strongly believe that the vast majority of legitimate gun owners in New Zealand will understand that these moves are in the national interest, and will take these changes in their stride," Ardern said.

Delaware House Passes Bill to Give State’s Electoral College Votes to National Popular Vote Winner

The Delaware House of Representatives recently passed a bill that would give the state’s Electoral College votes to the candidate who wins the popular vote.

The measure passed the Delaware House last week by a vote of 24-17 to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

John Carney, the Democrat Governor of Delaware has already signaled he would sign the bill once it reaches his desk.

Delaware joins the 12 other states along with the District of Columbia (3 EC votes) to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

“We’re already overlooked,” Rep. David Bentz, the sponsor of the bill said, according to WHYY “Delaware is seen as this true blue state. And if you’re a Republican voter what is your motivation to vote? Because you know at the end of the day Delaware’s three electoral votes will go to that Democrat. If you’re a Democrat maybe you’re not motivated either because you know you don’t have to.”

How Long Does Marijuana Stay in Your System?

The active ingredient in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol
also called delta-9-THC or simply THC. It enters the body's bloodstream rapidly after smoking marijuana. If marijuana is ingested rather than smoked, it takes longer to be absorbed into the blood, usually from 20 minutes to an hour and a half.

The short-term effects of marijuana on memory, learning, problem-solving, and coordination last for one to two hours, with some lingering effects for up to 24 hours. It's been shown to impair your driving performance for up to three hours, according to the studies quoted by the National Highway Safety Administration.
THC is detectable in the blood for a short time, about a few hours, because it is rapidly broken down and modified into molecules known as metabolites. At least 80 different metabolites are formed from THC. These metabolites are stored in body fat and are gradually eliminated from the body through feces and urine.

Lisa Page: Yeah, Obama's DOJ Killed the Prosecution of Hillary Clinton

New testimony from former FBI attorney Lisa Page, which was released by Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe, shows the Department of Justice killed the prosecution of Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton before the FBI officially had a chance to refer her for charges.

That runs contrary to statements made by former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who said the Department would take whatever the FBI recommended.
The FBI is investigating the private server Hillary Clinton used while Secretary of State and whether Clinton or her aides broke any laws in their handling of classified information. Lynch said a team of career members of the Justice Department and FBI will present her with recommendations on how to proceed once the investigation has concluded and that she plans to accept the guidance.

Gov. Hogan Appeals To Feds To Increase H-2B Visas To Help Maryland’s Crab Industry

WASHINGTON (WMAL) A reduction in the number of H-2B temporary work visas devastated Maryland’s crab and seafood processing industry in 2018, and Gov. Larry Hogan says it will do the same in 2019 unless more visas are issued.

Thursday he wrote to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Department of Labor Secretary Alex Acosta asking them to reverse a 2018 decision to limit the number of visas available through the H-2B Temporary Non-Agricultural Workers program.

He said failing to restore the H-2B visa program will jeopardize jobs and threaten the livelihood of Maryland’s watermen and commercial crabbers along with the state’s $355 million seafood industry.

In a typical year, Hogan said 500 H-2B seasonal workers are needed for Maryland’s 20 licensed crab picking houses.

Social Security may use your Facebook and Instagram photos to nix disability claims

  • The Social Security Administration may start screening your Facebook and Instagram posts to evaluate your disability claim
  • Currently, the federal agency uses them to investigate fraud cases, but it's planning to expand that usage
  • Social media is considered a poor measure of a person's life, so the practice raises data privacy questions
Careful what you post online. The Social Security Administration may start screening your Facebook and Instagram posts to evaluate your disability claim. At the moment, the SSA's disability investigations units and the Office of the Inspector General use social media posts to flag fraudulent activity. However, in the 2020 budget proposal released Monday, the SSA said it's planning to expand that usage to review and evaluate applicants for disability benefits. SSA spokesperson Mark Hinkle said the work is "ongoing."

"We are evaluating how social media could be used by disability adjudicators in assessing the consistency and supportability of evidence in a claimant's case file," the agency said in the 2020 budget.

Usage of electronic nicotine delivery systems—known as vapes—has increased among among high school students nationwide from over 11 percent in 2017 to nearly 21 percent in 2018, according to the United States Surgeon General.

In addition to raising the legal age, House bill 1169—sponsored by Delegate Dereck E. Davis, D-Prince George’s—would change the definition of tobacco products to include vapor devices, parts and juices.

Nearly 9 out of 10 cigarette smokers had tried smoking by the age of 18, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This bill is intended to prevent more minors from trying cigarettes before they are of legal age, Davis said.
