Obama Kicked A$$ In SC Primary

Barack Obama blew away Hillary Rodham Clinton in the racially charged South Carolina primary Saturday night, regaining campaign momentum in the prelude to a Feb. 5 coast-to-coast competition of more than 1,600 Democratic National Convention Delegates.

About half the voters were black and four out of five of them supported Obama. Black women turned out in large numbers. Obama got a quarter of the white vote while Clinton and Edwards split the rest.

Couple Drops The F-Bomb In A Unique Way!

If you're flying out of Philadelphia International Airport and look out the window as the plane is climbing, you might be startled to see the F-word written on the roof of a house. That's a message for Federal Aviation Administration from Michael Hall and Michaelene Buddy.

The Associated Press reports that the couple are very upset that recent changes by the FAA in the flight paths for departures out of Philadelphia now take those flights right over their home in Ridley Township, southeast of the city. So they have let the FAA know what they think of it by painting this message on their rooftop in 7-foot high letters: "(Fu*k) U FAA." The words are accompanied by a picture of a plane with a slash through it and "no fly zone" written next to it.

Hall says the noise is so loud he can only sleep if he wears earplugs. The couple valiantly tried to communicate their displeasure to the FAA through more traditional means, including calling the FAA's noise complaint hotline. But because the voicemail box was always full, they were unable to leave their message. So they grabbed a bucket of roof sealant and a ladder. "Just doing it made me feel better, but I'd still like to say what I wrote directly to the idiot head of the FAA," Hall told the Philadelphia Daily News.

The FAA had no comment. AP reports that the flight changes are part of a massive restructuring of the airspace over the congested corridor between New York and Philadelphia.

Wicomico County Sheriff's Department Arrests A Piece Of Sh!t!

Carter Jay DICKerson, JR. 41 years old from the 500 block of Hearne Lane, Salisbury, MD. was arrested last night for 2nd Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest.

On 1-26-08 the WCSO received a 911 hang up call. Deputies were dispatched to the address and upon investigation they recognized that the call was in reference to a domestic assault.

Carter Dickerson Jr. had assaulted his Wife by punching her and grabbing her by the neck and throat. When Deputies attempted to arrest, he refused to comply and began to resist. After struggling with Dickerson for several minutes, they were able to place him under arrest for assaulting his wife, (domestic assault) and resisting arrest.

Let's just hope those underpaid Guards at the WCDC put him in a very safe cell and the District Court Commissioner is a woman!

Robbers Cut Woman's Hair With A Machete

The newest crime? Hair robbery. Women in Brazil have it particularly hard as robbers appear to be targeting them so they can slash off their hair with machetes and ostensibly sell it for wigs.

The Associated Press reports that the latest attack occurred in the northeastern city of Aracaju on Tuesday, Jan. 22 as two men on a motorcycle grabbed a woman as she was walking to church. They pulled out a machete and chopped off her waist-length hair that she had been growing for 20 years. Police officer Antonio Williams da Silva told AP that the woman's hair was more than four feet long. The bandits cut it just above her shoulders. "A hairpiece that size could cost you as much" as $550, da Silva explained to AP, offering a possible motive for the bizarre crime. The woman was not injured. The assailants remain at large, but could be charged with battery if they are ever caught.

Da Silva said it was the second recent case of hair robbery in Aracaju, and similar attacks have been reported in other Brazilian cities. Last year, 22-year-old Mirna Marchet was riding a bus in Rio de Janeiro when bandits with scissors cut her hair that she had been growing for four years.

WCSO Nabs 50 Envelopes Of Heroin!

Who Gets The Ticket?

Vehicles today have front and back cameras allowing you to do many things you couldn't do in the past. That is, without banging up your bumpers and fenders.

The above photo is ONE parking space on the Plaza in which TWO vehicles reside. So who gets the ticket? My guess would be the guy in the back but this one can easily be fought.

Nevertheless, the meter was paid and as far as I know, no tickets were given out.

Congressional Candidate Andy Harris Celebrates His 51st Birthday With Friends In Ocean Pines

Senator Andy Harris doesn't mind making regular trips to the Eastern Shore and in fact has proven such by visiting so frequently.

Last night Andy met with quite a few people at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club and yes, Gilchrest had people there just to see what the turn out was like. Nevertheless, Andy Celebrated his 51st Birthday with friends while Mark McIver had this unbelievable cake made for the occasion.

Obviously, (from the photos) Andy was clueless and surprised while everyone sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed the cake afterwards.

Salisbury Police & Wicomico County Sheriff's Department Bag A Bad Guy!

On January 23, 2008 at approximately 10:24 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were on routine patrol in the area of Hill St. and Fitzwater St. when they observed a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect who was known to be wanted on several outstanding warrants. The suspect then fled from the vehicle on foot. GREAT WORK!

Gilchrest Just Lost ANOTHER Major Vote

Although my friend Bud Church of Ocean City donated to the Gilchrest Campaign early on, he's changed his mind and he's now going with Andy Harris.

The title of this Post truly says a lot. Bud Church isn't just one vote, he's hundreds of votes, if not thousands of votes! Bud Church is a Worcester County Commissioner and came to this Meet & Greet on his own.

There are several reasons for Bud's decision, they're personal just like everyone else's and I'm not going to expose that. However, he was delighted to meet Andy last night and spent some one on one time. Being that the two men are into Politics, Bud knows what he's doing for the good of the Eastern Shore Realtors and he's changing his vote.

Don't be afraid to go to one of these Meet & Greet Events Ladies & Gentlemen. These are very down to earth Politicians who want to hear your concerns. I heard Wayne has become so desperate, one Lady last night said that she personally got a call from Wayne and she said, "I'm still not going to vote for him."

16 More days! Last night also started a POSITIVE AD CAMPAIGN from the Harris Campaign. The commercials you'll now see are of a positive light. I'm glad to see things turning that way.

Bud Church also owns a Real Estate Company in Ocean City and has been in real estate for, oh, let's just say since they did away with saddles. LOL

Great to see you again Bud and YOU'VE BEEN BLOGGED!

Oh Look, More Commercial Real Estate For Sale In Salisbury

Although this Boat Manufacturer bolted out of town like a bat out of hell, they did leave behind yet another building in Salisbury, (like so many other companies) to make someones choice to relocate here and have an inventory to choose from much easier.

Now let's see, Barrie Tilghman has helped the local economy, how? Hundreds of additional jobs were lost because of her 14% Tax Increase recently and the Company simply said, NO MORE!

The future is not promising in Salisbury so start looking elsewhere Folks because Real Estate is going to drop to an all time low, especially in the City!

Why Move To Delaware?

Do you realize, (compared to Salisbury, MD.) in property tax savings alone you can finally afford to purchase those horses you always dreamed of? Heck, do you also realize in tax savings alone you can even afford to feed these animals all year long and still have spare change! Move to Delmar, it's a better way of life.

Oh, and if you miss Salisbury, just get in the car and drive the 4 miles to get there and still enjoy everything they have to offer, for free!

Wicomico Neighborhood Congress Hosts Crime Forum in Delmar

Partners with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement;

Thanks Community Foundation for Book Grant

DELMAR – The Wicomico Neighborhood Congress (WNC) has secured a powerhouse law enforcement panel for a crime forum as the theme of its first congress of 2008, to be held Tuesday, January 29, 6:30 p.m., at Delmar Town Hall, 100 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in downtown Delmar, MD. The November 2007 WNC Convention identified crime as one of the top issues facing Wicomico County residents.

The WNC has secured presentations and cooperation from every level of government. Presenters and facilitators include Troy Williams of the United States Attorney’s Office – Maryland District, Dan Dougherty of the Wicomico States Attorney’s Office, and Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis.

County Executive Rick Pollitt praised the WNC efforts, saying, “Thirteen short months ago, the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress was only an idea. Now it is a vital organization, and its next meeting deals with crime in Wicomico County. We have a pressing problem in many of our neighborhoods with individuals who have lost their sense of being part of a community of safety and peace. I am very pleased that the WNC is tackling this important subject.”

The evening will include a presentation by Williams, a principal contact for community programs in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, on the concept “Fixing Broken Windows.” The theory, by author George L. Kelling, calls for a proactive approach to fighting quality-of-life crimes that, if ignored, lead to much deeper problems for communities. The WNC is pleased to announce a $500 grant from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore to purchase Kelling’s texts to be distributed to neighborhoods and individuals throughout the county. Community Foundation representatives will be on hand for a brief presentation.

As the State’s Attorney’s Wicomico County Gang Resistance and EXILE director, Mr. Dougherty has made hundreds of presentations to school students, faculties, civic groups, governmental agencies and private organizations. Mr. Dougherty chaired Wicomico County’s Gang Suppression Committee, which initiated and sustains the county’s gang resistance effort. He organized two Eastern Shore Gang Information Sharing Conferences and operates a gang information sharing network on email that reaches many members of the law enforcement community. He serves on the executive board of the Mid-Atlantic Region Gang Investigators' Association and is a member of the East Coast Gang Investigators’ Association.

Mr. Dougherty praised efforts in Wicomico County, saying, “Wicomico County enjoys tremendous cooperation and information sharing between the police, probation and parole, juvenile justice, corrections, and prosecutors. We can network the same way that the gangsters do, and we’ll all be better prepared to resist gang violence in the community.”

Sheriff Mike Lewis will lead a break-out session where neighbors and neighborhood association representatives will share problems they face and brainstorm ways they can partner with law enforcement countywide to solve problems and open lines of communication. Lewis noted, “I am excited about this positive step in addressing public safety issues proactively.”

Members of the steering committee for the WNC are excited about the dialogue that will occur between members and these officials. “The WNC makes it a priority that citizens be able to express concerns and discuss solutions with experts and community leaders. In this environment, the goals of the congress are met. We are proud of this effort and encourage citizens and neighborhood leaders to participate,” said Jim Ireton, WNC steering committee chairman.

The WNC includes both group and individual members. Prospective members and visitors are welcome to attend this vital session on crime.

Daily Times Bloggers Must Support Wayne Gilchrest

Since you slam the DT regularly for being inept, biased, and generally pathetic, I thought I'd point out one more instance of such. Gidjunis is posting to his blog "politically incorrect" posts, where he analyzes the mailings from the 1st congressional district. I'm sure you can imagine where this is going.
post #1 - Jan 22 - Focuses on Andy Harris
post #2 - Jan 25 - Focuses on EJ pipkin
post #3 - Jan 25 - Focuses on Club for Growth Pac support of Andy Harris

I don't know why they don't just come out and say "DT for Gilchrest for Congress."

The No. 1 Dog Breed In The United States

The most popular pooch in the U.S.A. is the Labrador Retriever--for the 17th consecutive year. But the really big news is that for first time in 75 years, the Bulldog is back on the top 10 list of purebred dogs.

Coming in behind the ever popular Lab are the Yorkshire Terrier and German Shepherd. That's the word from the American Kennel Club in its annual ranking, which is based on the year's registration of 157 different breeds.

The top 10 dog breeds in America:
1. Labrador Retriever
2. Yorkshire Terrier
3. German Shepherd
4. Golden Retriever
5. Beagle
6. Boxer
7. Dachshund
8. Poodle
9. Shih Tzu
10.Bulldog

A SU Student Claims They Were There

"I would like to provide a few more details to provide a more balanced perspective on the incident, as I was there when this occurred. Firstly, there were only about 6 people in the residence. Secondly, The person that was beaten and restrained by police had answered the door, and it was at this time that the officer entered the apartment, claiming probable cause for having smelled illegal substances. While there were certainly faults by both parties involved, the harrasment, name calling and verbal abuse incurred by the students, in addition to the excessive force used by the officers to restrain the individual, were beyond what was necessary. To also be fair and balanced, an officer did allow water to be poured over the maced student's face. Whether this was due to the third parties present watching the events is unclear. Questioning a person's belief in God while berating them is not standard police procedure, at last I checked. Unfortunately, I suspect that, as usual, the reputation of students at this institution will only lead the court's to be in favor of the police as so often happens. A serious look needs to be taken at the tactics and procedures of police towards students of this community, students providing this community with their money and economic support. It seems obvious where we fall in the police's eyes."
