Three Potential New Bay Bridge Corridors Identified; Public Hearings Scheduled

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Maryland Transportation Authority Tuesday released a list of three potential corridors in which a Chesapeake Bay crossing could be built in an effort to reduce traffic stress on the existing U.S. Highway 50 Bay Bridge.

The three preliminary corridor alternatives include:

  • Corridor 6: MD 100 to US 301 between Pasadena (Anne Arundel County), Rock Hall (Kent County) and Centreville (Queen Anne’s County)
  • Corridor 7: existing Bay Bridge corridor, US 50/301 to US 50 between Crofton (Anne Arundel County) and Queenstown (Queen Anne’s County)
  • Corridor 8: US 50/301 between Crofton (Anne Arundel County) and Easton (Talbot County).
MDTA is also considering a no-build alternative.

The department said the three corridor alternatives were the only options that meet traffic needs and comply with the National Environmental Policy Act.

Former Salisbury Mayor & Councilman To Pack Up And Leave Salisbury

Even the paint on the rainbow colored cross walks tend to fade and go away but it says an awful lot when your former Mayor put his house up for sale to allegedly move to Rehoboth. I'm told there's 5 homes for sale on his block alone. Oh well, don't let the door hit you on your way out Jimmy.

Divorce Filing: Wife Says Democrat Consultant Had Affair with Ilhan Omar

The wife of a Democrat consultant alleges her husband engaged in an extramarital affair with freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in recent months, according to a report.

The New York Post, citing divorce filings obtained by the newspaper, reports Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett said her husband Tim Mynett admitted to having an affair with Omar in April. Dr. Mynett also alleges her spouse dropped a “shocking declaration of love” for the far-left lawmaker and dumped her soon after, state filings submitted to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on Tuesday.

“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the documents read.

Where Are All The Fat People?

This image is from the 1970's. Take notice, there's no fat people in the picture. You have to wonder just what the food industry has done to Americans, seriously. I've always said, someone would become a billionaire if they opened a Weight Watchers store on the OC Boardwalk today.

Mayor Jake Day Brings Out The Young Cadets For A Neighborhood Walk

As you saw in an earlier video, Jake Day walked the Johnson Lake neighborhood while using city resources like police officers, firefighters and all the equipment that comes with each department. Of course you won't see the seasoned veterans from these departments walking the streets because they're not stupid.

So let's get real here Jake, just what did these neighbors say about all the crime like RAPES, MURDERS, THEFT and so on in this neighborhood? You can smile and record all you want but truth be told, people are pissed at you because of the crime. Yeah, we know you won't record or publish what people really think, because your a Liberal and part of the "fake news" agenda.

Let's see what people really think in anonymous comments.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Warns That ‘Diseases Could Escape’ From Frozen Glaciers Due To Climate Change

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told fans on a live stream Tuesday that if climate change isn’t stopped, glaciers could melt and expose humans to diseases tens of thousands of years old.

“There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers that scientists fear that there is a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers,” Ocasio-Cortez said on Instagram Live.

“Things that were frozen for thousands of years, and that they’re going to get into our water, and that humans could contract them, and they’re going to be diseases that are thousands of years old that have vectors that we are not prepared for, that we have never seen,” she said, continuing, “Um…and so that’s a concern…Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers, you have diseases that are spread by mosquitoes, and now mosquitoes are starting to fly further north that carry diseases like malaria, and a whole slew of other things.”

East Wicomico Community Seeks New Library

PARSONSBURG – Residents on the east side of Wicomico County came out in droves to a town hall meeting last week to support the construction of a new library.

On Wednesday evening, Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver held his second monthly town hall meeting at the Parsonsburg Fire Department.

“I need your help telling me what’s important to you,” Culver said.

In addition to sharing their concerns regarding fire and EMS services and drainage, attendees this week also voiced their support for a larger library on the east side of Wicomico County.

The Pittsville library – currently located on school property off of Old Ocean City Road – is one of three branches of the Wicomico Public Libraries system and the only one to be based in a portable trailer.

Area resident Tonya Laird Lewis told Culver and his staff that space at the library was limited and could not accommodate the growing number of east side residents who utilize the library’s resources on a daily basis.

Wisdom teeth removal is contributing to the opioid crisis, experts warn

Every year, about 5 million Americans, most of whom are adolescents and young adults, have their wisdom teeth removed. Many of them are prescribed opioids for the pain during recovery.

The American Dental Association said that after updating its guidelines advising against prescribing opioids, dentists wrote almost half a million fewer prescriptions in 2017 compared to five years earlier. But that still amounted to a staggering 18.1 million prescriptions — and some families are living with the devastating consequences.

That includes Ellen Earley, whose daughter Saige was a young mother doting on her 16-month-old son Julian. In 2017, 22-year-old Saige needed to have her wisdom teeth removed. When the dentist prescribed opioids to help manage her pain, Earley said, he gave "no warning, no nothing" about the potential risks.

North Carolina sheriff's deputy alleges he was fired for following the 'Billy Graham Rule'

A former North Carolina sheriff's deputy is suing for religious discrimination after he was fired in 2017 for refusing to train a female deputy alone because she was not his wife.

Manuel Torres said he was fired by the Lee County Sheriff's Office after he was instructed to train a female deputy, but he ultimately decided he could not obey the request because it violated his Christian belief that as a married man he could not be alone with someone other than his wife, also known as the "Billy Graham Rule."

The Rev. Billy Graham, who passed away at 99 in February 2018, advocated for men not to be alone with any woman whom they were not married to.

School Fails Christian Girl For Not Saying Islamic Prayer, She Fights Back

When a Maryland school required students to affirm the Islamic prayer declaring Allah is the only god, a Christian girl was given a zero for the course because she refused to violate her faith. However, instead of taking her failing grade, she decided to fight back.

When Caleigh Wood was a junior, her teacher at La Plata High School handed out an assignment concerning the tenets of Islam. Wood read the curriculum only to discover that much of it contained intellectually dishonest information. However, the final straw came when the young woman saw what the school was forcing students to declare.

According to WND, the World History course not only biasedly taught that Muslims have more faith than Christians but also required students to profess in writing that Allah is the one true god. The curriculum made multiple implications that could have been straight out of an imam’s sermon.

FARMERS’ ALMANAC: A BRUTALLY COLD & WET WINTER 2019-2020 COMING

I'm writing this on August 26th, 2019, which means that we still have nearly a month of summer left (28 days, to be exact), and nearly 120 days until winter 2019-2021.

But that's never stopped the folks over at the Farmers' Almanac from releasing their winter forecasts well ahead of time, and if they're right, we've got a wild ride ahead of us.

The 2019-2020 Winter Outlook from the Farmers' Almanac is calling for the Northeast to be "frosty, wet, and white" for the upcoming winter.

They're saying that the whole Northeast, from Boston to DC can expect "colder-than-normal temperatures for much of the upcoming winter," plus lots of precipitation.

UPDATE: Baltimore City Now America's Third Most Funded School System

As Annapolis is set to pump more money into Baltimore City Schools, we’re learning the district has moved up in national rankings for spending.

Baltimore City Schools is now the third most-funded school system among the 100 largest in America, according to the U.S. Census for 2019. Last year, when City Schools was ranked fifth in the nation, it spent $15,168 per student. Now, it’s spending $16,184 or nearly $1,000 more per student. That puts Baltimore at number three, behind only New York City and Boston.

According to the 2019 census data, three other Maryland school systems also rank in the top ten for student spending. Baltimore City is followed by Montgomery, Howard and Prince George’s Counties. And these numbers may be going up this coming year. As part of the Kirwan Commission, lawmakers in Annapolis voted to increase public school funding by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Chick-fil-a vs Popeyes (Funny read)

Sharilyn Pettus
I need to repent. I was tempted by the false prophet’s chicken, and hope my testimony will help others from going down this path of sin. I saw the ads, the viral videos, the claims of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen chicken sandwich overthrowing our holiest of grails Chick-fil-A. I am ashamed to admit that, not only did I give into the temptation, but also brought Lauren Hawkins down this dark and fruitless path.

We decided to get a chicken sandwich and fries from both Popeyes and Chick-fil-A to compare. Lauren went to Popeyes as there is a restaurant close to her house, and I went to Chick-fil-A for the same reason. Lauren arrived at Popeyes at 12:53pm and was met by a line wrapped all the way around the building and into the road. We both expected there would be a long wait but the sandwich would be worth it....what a terrible mistake. At 1:22pm she finally made it to the screen to order. She was met by a nameless employee who sounded as if she spends her free time daydreaming of ways to trap the entire city of Nashville inside her Popeyes store and then burn it all to the ground. Said nameless employee then informs Lauren that they are currently out of chicken sandwiches, fries, apple pies and all sauces except Buffalo. She orders chicken fingers with buffalo sauce, Mac and cheese and a large sweet tea. At 1:34pm she arrives at the pickup window where said employee halfway throws the food into her car window, and hands her a medium sweet tea (not the ordered large). 39 total minutes of wait time for not a single thing she actually came for.
