Liberal Lawyer Frank Kratovil Tries To Parse Words

Who is he trying to fool?

Frank Kratovil's campaign is sending out an audio tape of a small portion of his comments at Salisbury University. The audio confirms Frank Kratovil, in praising Congress' passage of the bailout, says "We solved the crisis." The Kratovil campaign is arguing that he says "We solve a crisis." In either case, Kratovil is just plain wrong, neither "the crisis" or "a crisis" have been solved.

Chris Meekins, Harris Campaign Manager, released the following statement:

"Frank Kratovil is just another liberal lawyer trying to parse words. Maryland families do not believe Congress has solved A crisis or THE crisis.

"Frank Kratovil clearly recognizes that what he said was wrong and he was called on it. Now he is trying to do or say whatever he can to hide how out-of-touch he is with voters in the first district. This was Kratovil's "macacca" moment and he is going to have to answer to voters for it.

"At the event Monday, Frank Kratovil praised Congress for passing the bailout. The intent of what he was saying was very clear. In contrast, Andy Harris condemned Congress for passing the 700billion dollar taxpayer funded bailout that is hurting Maryland families."

What If Obama Is Killed? What If McCain Dies In Office? What If Obama Loses?

When you're holding an interview for the highest, most respected position in the entire World, don't you find it interesting how most of the Corporate Officers, (YOU) only spend an hour and a half interviewing candidates for the job?

Here we are holding debates for an hour and a half and most everyone in the Country makes their decision based on, he looked funny. He repeated his answer. His eyebrow twitched, you know, that kind of stuff.

Listening to that radio interview yesterday was over the top. People are mainly clueless and even "I" have to admit, much of what is put out there any more is BS. Obama isn't gay, give me a break.

Granted, although we, (Salisbury News) is simply a Blog, the MSM loves this kind of stuff and uses it to convince one of these Candidates are a complete Idiot. No, neither of these Candidates are Idiots but we've got some serious issues to really consider here.

I'm going to take you to a place NO ONE has gone yet. Not completely anyway.

Let's say Obama is elected the next President of the United States. I said this publicly several months ago in the Daily Times, what happens if some nut job shoots and actually kills Obama. Yes, it would be a very tragic event but please tell me what YOU think might happen in this Country if it turns out a white man shot Obama and killed him.

Do you believe there would be riots throughout America? I mean, as much as 99.9% of you don't want to ever believe this could happen, it could. And IF it did happen, have YOU thought this out well enough to realize what America could be dealing with IF it did?

Again, for the heck of it, let's say that Obama loses the election because it got fixed again, like the last time. Have YOU thought about what might happen? Will there be riots in the streets of America?

Neither party have left any of us feeling happy about what could happen and quite frankly, the top Executives, (the heads of the Republican and Democrat party) that brought all of this to the table without truly informing Americans have screwed us royally.

If McCain wins and passes away, we're left with Palin. Nice lady and all but PLEASE! Same goes for Biden.

I personally think YOU should spend a lot more time INTERVIEWING these Candidates and going to their Headquarters and READING the material they provide. It's easy to be SOLD by representatives in these Headquarters because they're going to tell you everything you want to hear.

The brochures provided by these Candidates as well as their Websites should help you make a more educated decision as to who should be our next President. However, like I've said in the past and I'll repeat again, we've been delivered crap on both sides. This is America and we should have been delivered Candidates with more experience, in one case and younger, in the other. That is just my opinion.

Now don't come back here trying to sell everyone on YOUR Candidate. They BOTH suck, period. Their VP choices suck as well. Bush has screwed us so bad financially, the Bailout is only going to make the next President of the Unites States job that much more difficult.

Are YOU really basing your vote on a 1 1/2 long debate? That would be like moving to Salisbury 6 months ago and voting for Barrie Tilghman because she did much better at a local debate than other Candidates. Use your heads Folks and LOOK into the future. Look at the could be's too! I wouldn't wish any ill will on ANY of these wonderful people. However, reality is something a good Corporate Officer interviewing someone for a job would do.

In closing, it has been said that Osama Bin Ladin already won the war on terror because their ultimate plan was to financially crush the Unites States. BOTH Candidates agree that this happened. NOW, IF Obama is killed in Office, (God Forbid) could this be yet another repeat of 9-11? Would it be the end of America? YOU better think before you make a final decision.

Quote of the Day

"Senator Obama, I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago."

--John McCain

Dow Down 733.08 ...

... but I thought Frank Kratovil solved the crisis.

A little over a week ago, Democrat congressional candidate Frank Kratovil told an audience of Young Democrats at Salisbury University that "We solved the crisis".  Yet, since the federal bailout - supported by Kratovil - the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 17%.

Imagine.  In less than two weeks, we have seen the Dow fall from 10,325.38 (on the day the bailout bill passed) to 8,877.91 (yesterday).  I wonder why Kratovil is whining about a new commercial highlighting his claim that "We solved the crisis":

I know that the crisis sure isn't solved for me as I have my second child go off to college next year.  I know that it's not solved for retired people like my uncle who is concerned about the rapidly falling value of a life's savings.

Bias Media

Listening to the mainstream media I've learned a few things about the GOP's VP nominee but also had to learn a few things on my own.

To wit:

1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin's husband has a DUI conviction from 22 years ago.

On my own I learned that Ted Kennedy (hero of last month's tribute at the DNC) was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick in1969. That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer with whom he was having an affair. Oh, and that woman was pregnant with his child.

Mr. Palin's (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography).

Shocking - it's OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the party patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk yet the husband of aVP candidate should be demonized for something done 22 years ago.

2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant.

On my own I learned that Obama's mother was an unmarried street hippy in Honolulu, Hawaii, when she conceived Obama.

On my own I learned that Joe Biden's (the other VP candidate) son was paid a large amount of money as a consultant to a credit card company,MBNA.

That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty sum to Mr. Biden's son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that company.

That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation and suit for defrauding a former business partner. Shocking - it's a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a child who's pregnant even though it's irrelevant to how she performs her job.

It's ok if the democrat Presidential candidate's unwed mother conceived him out of wedlock. It's ok, however, for the democrat VP candidate (while a senator) to vote in favor of a company who paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars.

3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered"selfish" for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter's condition. Knowing that at her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the family is selfish and she should have declined, to protect her child.Strange - the same people who said Sarah is selfish for running for VP did not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you see.

4. From the media I have learned to be "concerned" that Sarah Palin probably won't be able to manage her family and do an effective job of being VP at the same time.Funny - I never heard anything about Hillary's ability to support Chelsea while re-doing health care or any of the other feminist icons who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of rogue nations or how Joe Biden's kids (who don't even have a mom) will be fighting for his time while he hosts white house coffee fundraisers and sells nights in the Lincoln bedroom.

5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is "too inexperienced"to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency. Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state that's the same size people-wise as Delaware (hint hint: that's where Joe Biden is from) is not really experience.

However, time spent as a "community organizer" and less than 180 day sin the senate where you've authored no significant legislation is just the type of "change" we're looking for from the top of the ticket.Funny - inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for "change"and "hope" while strong practical everyday experience as the #2 is cause for concern.

6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's husband once got a ticket for fishing without a license.* I haven't heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism not once but multiple times.

It's ok to break the rules if you're a democrat candidate but not OK if you are the spouse of a republican candidate.

7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn't know much about Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is.* Sarah's son volunteered into the US military and is now deployed in Iraq. I guess that doesn't count.Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last year) than Obama has even while running for president. In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops. When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz Carlton.

8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a "lightweight" and she better be a "quick study" to keep up with this team.Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had "visited 5 7states" according to him he only had "5 more to go" or endless other stupid gaffes that expose who he really is.

9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin's husband was once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states' rights(man, this is really bad stuff).

That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers.Mr. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the pentagon. This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more. During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack Obama. All notes and information about their serving together is now locked up by the corrupt Chicago machine and reporter access to those records are being blocked by the Obama campaign.

If we've had any doubts about the bias of the media, it's pretty clear now where they stand.

Pass this on to some of your friends who are on the fence and who get all their information from Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang. This is egregious and corrupt. The only way to stop it is to spread information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant

BUSH'S RESIGNATION SPEECH

The following 'speech' was written recently by an ordinary Maine-iac [a resident of the People's Republic of Maine ]. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. This is an excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living.

Normally, I start these things out by saying 'My Fellow Americans.' Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.
The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media.

Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this 'blood for oil' thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq 's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied...People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ' Clinton ' established that policy. Bet you didn't know tha t, did you?

Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan , a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he's going to destroy us. While he's doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to re-elect him. He also thinks it's okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel . Did you sleep through high school?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.
That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well Fed Ex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times, USA Today, or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's bel ow sea level and has a hurricane approaching.

I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient hou se down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

So that's it. God bless what's left of America .

Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off

How Quickly Barrie Tilghman & Michael Day Forget

8 years ago when Mayor Tilghman needed the Black Vote, places like the Chipman Center were revitalized for that FEEL GOOD vote. Now that they're done with them, the structure falls apart, like everything else she has touched.

I say this because I want ALL of you to know what "THE BRICKS" will look like in a few short years. Grant money runs out and the City can't afford to keep the normal maintenance up on these buildings, the community never did give a sh!t and they start falling apart day by day.

Now with Lore' Chambers on board, perhaps she can earn her keep by fixing up what's obviously falling apart because it's not maintained. Sell us on the bill of goods and then forget it, is the Tilghman policy.

Well, the Mayor or Comegys will need that Black vote again, so expect to see them all jump on this property and then go on PAC 14 and say, you know, that pesky Joe Albero Blogged us so we had to spend our spare money on fixing this building, so lets do some more proclamations and throw some Black Folk on the cameras and look good all over again.

The big question is, will the Black Community fall for their BS all over again?

Bailout Article

For those interested in what really is causing our economic crisis this is a great article published by the San Francisco Chronicle. I cannot believe that such an extremely liberal newspaper in the most liberal town in our nation had it in them to publish this within 40 days of the election. The article is factually accurate and worth the read..

'The average American listening to all the news of bank failures, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (who?) being taken over by the government, and now a bail-out of large, privately owned and well known companies, is at first bewildered, and then angry. The average American should be furious.

But whom should Americans be furious? That seems to be the big question as political fingers are pointing in every direction. Was it greedy CEOs with their golden parachutes? Was it the Democrats? Was it the Republicans? Was it Wall Street? (Who, exactly IS Wall Street?) The simple answer is that it is all of the above.

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Jr., and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke were on Capital Hill taking a verbal beating from some of the very people who should not be asking the questions, but answering them and answering those questions under oath.

Senator Chris Dodd, (D-Conn.) and Congressman Barney Frank, (D-Mass.) are the first two who should be grilled, not by fellow politicians, but by an independent and hopefully very clever, angry, and mean attorney hired by the American people. No one from the present Justice Department need apply. Both should be asked how much money they have taken from lobbyists hired by the CEOs of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Since that is public record, they should then be asked what Fannie and Freddie got in return for t hat money.

Barney Frank should be questioned about his House Bill, H.R. 3838, that is clearly designed to keep Fannie and Freddie afloat as long as possible despite all the signs that there was serious trouble ahead. But all his bill did was make the hole bigger in the side of the Titanic. Basically all H. R. 3838 did was: To temporarily increase the portfolio caps applicable to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, to provide the necessary financing to curb foreclosures by facilitating the refinancing of at-risk subprime borrowers into safe, affordable loans, and for other purposes.

Barney Frank and his counterpart in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, (D-N.Y.) did everything they could to delay and cover-up the outright fraud and book-cooking that was going on within Freddie and Fannie.

As far back as 2003, Freddie and Fannie were $9 billion dollars in debt because of bad loans that continued to be accepted on a daily basis. Pressure from liberals in Congress to continue giving out bad loans was relentless and for years it continued with CEOs, who happen to be friends of Dodd, Frank, Schumer, and Clinton, leaving with millions in their bank accounts as the companies they ran went under.

The truth is that this financial disaster for the American taxpayer didnt begin under George Bush, or Bill Clinton, or George Herbert Walker Bush, or Ronald Reagan. It started under Jimmy Carter. It started with the passing of The Community Reinvestment Act in 1977. Basically, this act pushed local community banks and lenders, to bend the rules a little and give loans to low-income families. Like many liberal schemes, it seemed like a good idea at the time. There was a provision that protected the nervous lender in the clause that stated that loans should be given in a safe and sound manner. This gave the bank some leeway and choice in the loans that were given out.

Under Bill Clinton, The Community Reinvestment Act was revised. Basically, the revision started to put pressure on lenders to take more financial risks. It was felt that lenders were not being fair to minorities and the poor who only wanted to share in the American dream of owning their own home. Janet Reno began to outwardly threaten banks and mortgage lenders with prosecution if home loans were not approved for those who wanted to purchase homes that, in truth, they could not afford.

Fearing federal retribution, loans started being approved for people who had no down-payment, no jobs, no collateral, and absolutely no hope of ever being able to meet any mortgage payment after the grace period of low interest ran out.

Then, the greed took over. Banks would bundle up loans, good and bad, and sell them to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, making all their money up front for loans they knew would default eventually. As these loans did default, in larger and larger numbers, even Fannie and Freddie could no longer stand up under the hemorrhage of money loss. Wall Street panicked and so did the federal government.

Were there warning signs that a disaster was looming? Of course, there were. But there was money to be made and politicians and CEOs alike were not about to give up the gravy train of money being crammed in their pockets. The CEOs of Freddie and Fannie would hire lobbyists to slip money into the pockets of Senator Chris Dodd, (D-Conn.), chairman of the Senate banking committee, who was supposed to be overseeing the banking industry, to the tune of $133,900 since 1989. Barack Obama was number two at the trough with over $120,000 which was no small feat since he has only been in the Senate for three years. Dodd and Obama were closely followed by the last Democratic nominee, John Kerry, (D-Mass.) and then Senator Hillary Clinton, (D-N.Y.)

What were these lobbyists buying for the millions they sprinkled around the Senate and House of Representatives? They were buying a blind eye. They were buying little or no oversight into the juggernaut that has finally crashed on the heads of the American taxpayer. CEOs got rich, politicians got rich and they got votes, being able to tell minorities and the poor, See what we are doing for you? For years, the red flags were stuffed under the desk and ignored.

Early in his administration, George Bush sounded an alarm over the small amount of working capital Fannie and Freddie had on hand. He urged them to sell more shares to increase their reserve in funding and put them on more stable ground. He urged them to be more selective in the loans they bought. This suggestion was declined because the current stockholders would not make as much profit.

Franklin Raines, the Fannie Mae CEO from 1999 to 2004, decided to retire early, taking millions with him, under a cloud of accusations that he had cooked the books to make it appear the company was making money instead of going head-long into debt. Another player in this financial kabuki dance is Jamie Gorelick. That name should ring a bell with every American. She seems to surface right at the heart of every American disaster in the last 15 years. Ms. Gorelick was vice-chair of Fannie Mae from 1997 to 2003. Like all the others, she left with millions in her pocket while declaring that Fannie Mae is among the handful of top-quality institutions.'

The next year it was found that Fannie was $9 billion dollars in the red. Oddly, this $9 billion had been overlooked in the books Ms. Gorelick and Mr. Raines kept.

Lets put Mr. Raines and Ms. Gorelick on the stand. The American people deserve to hear how much they gave lobbyists to pass on to their friends in Congress to keep the blinders on. That number is a staggering $16.2 million dollars since 1997. That amount bought very large blinders. And, it bought time. It bought time for the likes of Raines and Gorelick to make their millions and bow out before the bottom fell out.

Republican nominee John McCain raised the alarm two years ago but his plan for more oversight was killed in the Democrat-controlled committee. Over 20-year span, McCain took $20,000 but this did not stop him from voicing his concerns. The problem was that Democrats didnt want to hear about it.

President Bushs warnings were also ignored. Should Bush have done more? Yes. Unfortunately, Bush was distracted by the 9/11 attack and wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. So now, nearly every hour Americans watch as a pompous Chris Dodd or Barney Frank struts to a microphone to declare the failed economic policies of the Bush administration are responsible for this mess.

No, Senator, he is not. YOU and your greedy friends are responsible. It took three decades to reach the point of no return and some were there with their hands out nearly all of those years.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is launching a full investigation into all of this. This investigation will abruptly end should Barack Obama win in November. The last thing Democrats want is the American people learning how complicit so many of them are in the illegal practice at Fannie and Freddie that led to the taxpayers bearing the brunt of the their unbridled greed.

While politicians want oversight over the bail-out, there has been little outcry for an investigation into how all this evolved.

Its time for Americans to go to their windows and throw them open and yell, We are m ad as hell and we arent going to take it anymore!

Then, in November, vote the lot of them out of office.'
