Larry Hogan stokes speculation he'll primary Trump in 2020
The president's team is watching the 62-year-old Maryland pol like a hawk.
Republican Gov. Larry Hogan is acting a lot like a guy who wants to run against Donald Trump in 2020 — and the president's reelection team is taking notice.
The second-term Maryland governor has been implicitly going after Trump in speeches, meeting with Never Trump Republicans, and planning a March trip to Iowa as vice chair of the National Governors Association.
It’s all fueling speculation that Hogan, a 62-year-old cancer survivor who coasted to reelection in liberal Maryland and remains one of the most popular governors in the country, is open to the prospect of a long-shot primary challenge to the incumbent president. His flirtation comes at a time when Trump is facing increasing blowback over his handling of the protracted government shutdown and bracing for a potentially devastating report by special counsel Robert Mueller.
Hogan used his inaugural address on Wednesday to repudiate the “debilitating politics” of Washington — and to raise the specter of impeachment. He recalled how his father, former Rep. Lawrence Hogan, was the first Republican congressman to support the removal of Richard Nixon.
The governor didn’t utter Trump’s name, but the implication was clear.

Why do companies still charge extra for fuel, when gas and diesel are at historically low levels?

Does anyone else find this odd and excessive? They're getting like the airlines and quoting one price and jacking it up somewhere else.

Md. Democrats seek to ban Styrofoam
WASHINGTON — It’s kept your coffee hot and your takeout from leaking, but a group of lawmakers in Annapolis says it’s time to ban polystyrene foam — often referred to as Styrofoam.
The effort to make Maryland “foam-free” has been adopted by House and Senate Democrats in Annapolis. The ban is among the priorities they’ve announced for the upcoming legislative session.
Del. Derrick E. Davis, who represents Prince George’s County, where a ban is in place, said the negative impacts of the substance — the damage to waterways and marine life — make a statewide ban a necessary move.
“Look, for every square mile in our ocean, we have 46,000 pieces of floating plastic — every square mile!” he said at a news conference in Annapolis on Tuesday morning.

PA Man Arrested in Worcester County for Transporting Contraband Cigarettes
Field Enforcement Division agents seize 3,800 packs and vehicle
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - During a surveillance operation January 24, agents from the Comptroller of Maryland’s Field Enforcement Division (FED) arrested a Pennsylvania man and confiscated thousands of packs of contraband cigarettes.
“Our FED agents are always on the lookout for cheats and crooks who take the chance of driving through Maryland with their illegal tobacco products,” Comptroller Peter Franchot said. “We are proud of their dedicated work in identifying these scofflaws and bringing them to justice.”
At 10:30 a.m. January 24, FED agents saw a man buy multiple cartons of cigarettes from a discount cigarette retail store along U.S. Route 13 in Oak Hall, Va. The man put them in the rear of a 2006 Toyota Scion with a Pennsylvania license plate and then drove north on Route 13 from Virginia into Maryland. Agents stopped the vehicle at Route 13 and Sheep House Road in Pocomoke, Worcester County and conducted a search of the car.
FED agents seized 3,840 packs of contraband cigarettes and the car used in transportation. The seized cigarettes are valued at $24,768 and represent a tax loss to the state of $7,680.
The driver, Jose Amado Rivera, 71, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with a felony count of transporting contraband cigarettes and a misdemeanor count of possession of contraband cigarettes. Mr. Rivera was taken before a district court commissioner in Snow Hill, Worcester County, and released on personal recognizance. A court date has not been set.

Stacey Abrams to give Democratic response to State of the Union
Stacey Abrams will deliver the Democratic response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address next week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday.
Abrams drew national attention as the Democratic nominee for Georgia governor in a contested race against Brian Kemp. Abrams eventually conceded, but blasted Kemp, who was secretary of state, for how he handled the election and said he pushed suppressed voter suppression efforts.
Although she lost the race, Abrams is viewed as a rising star in the party. Most recently, Democrats have pushed her to consider running in Georgia's 2020 Senate race against Republican Sen. David Perdue. She recently met with Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairwoman Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) about the 2020 race.
"At a moment when our nation needs to hear from leaders who can unite for a common purpose, I am honored to be delivering the Democratic State of the Union response," Abrams said on Twitter.
When asked about Abrams delivering the State of the Union address, Perdue said he regretted the speech was delayed.

New York Democrats Pass Bill to Fund College for Illegal Immigrants
New York state lawmakers approved a measure that aims to dole out millions in taxpayer-funded aid to “Dreamers”—who entered the country illegally—attending college.
The now Democrat-controlled New York state Legislature on Wednesday passed the Dream Act, legislation that would make thousands of “Dreamers” eligible for financial aid to attend public colleges in the state. The bill, which has attracted praise from Democrat New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, would cost $27 million.
The measure is “a slap in the face for all the hardworking taxpayers who play the rules and struggle for the costs of a college education,” Republican state Sen. Daphne Jordan said of the bill.
Jordan was joined by other Republican state legislators in criticism of the Dream Act, who argued it would unfairly take money away from legal residents who struggle to pay their college tuition.

Governor in "clearly racist" photo; vows to serve out term amid calls for resignation
Eastern Virginia Medical School
A photo from Gov. Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook shows him and another person in racist costumes — one wearing blackface and one a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood, though it was not clear which person was the future governor.
Hours after the 35-year-old photo came to light Friday, Northam apologized for his decision to appear in it. Elected officials and activist groups from across the political spectrum called for him to resign.
But in a video posted to Twitter Friday evening, Northam said he had spent the past year “fighting for a Virginia that works better for all people” and he would continue to do so throughout the rest of his term, which ends in January 2022.
“I accept responsibility for my past actions, and I am ready to do the hard work of regaining your trust,” he said.

Virginia Democrat Proposes Bill Allowing ‘Abortion’ as Woman Is ‘Dilating’
Virginia Democrat Delegate Kathy Tran proposed a measure last week that would not only allow abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy in the state, but would also permit a woman to decide whether she wants to “abort” her baby as she is dilating and about to give birth.
The bill is proposed as New York Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo has just signed into law the Reproductive Health Act, which eliminates recognition of “personhood” in the unborn and defines a “person” as a “human being who has been born and is alive.” That law has been referred to as permitting “infanticide” by many pro-life groups.

Extramarital affair with Kamala Harris? Former San Francisco mayor, 84, admits it happened
Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown addressed his past extramarital relationship with U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris in his weekly column Saturday, saying he may have boosted the presidential hopeful's career.
"Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago," Brown wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle.
"Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was [California] Assembly speaker. And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco."
Brown, 84, pointed out that he also helped the careers of other prominent California Democrats, such as U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
"The difference is that Harris is the only one who, after I helped her, sent word that I would be indicted if I 'so much as jaywalked' while she was D.A.,” Brown wrote. "That's politics for ya."

Northam: Infant Could Be Delivered and Then ‘Physicians and the Mother’ Could Decide If It Lives
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D.) commented Wednesday about a controversial 40-week abortion bill and in so doing said the law allows an abortion to take place after the infant's birth.
"If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother," Northam said, alluding to the physician and mother discussing whether the born infant should live or die.
A Democrat lawmaker in the Virginia House of Delegates proposed a bill Tuesday that would allow abortions through the end of the third trimester of pregnancy. The video of Delegate Kathy Tran presenting her bill led to an exchange where she admitted that her bill would allow for a mother to abort her child minutes before giving birth.
"How late in the third trimester could a physician perform an abortion if he indicated that it would impair the mental health of the woman?" Majority Leader Todd Gilbert (R.) asked.

Thank You!!!
I spent quite a few months building business for another local bar, (as many of you know) and while I enjoyed building that business, there was nothing in it for me outside the challenge.
When the opportunity came about to open my own bar/restaurant it took some deep thought as I knew the challenge of rebuilding this particular facility and its past history would be an incredible challenge.
After several months, (7 days a week) of really hard work the final outcome was amazingly surprising. Then came the challenge of swinging the doors at the very worst time of the year, January. Hence my decision, (for now) to only be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2 am.
My goal, to serve the coldest beer in town, great food with very large portions, something most want but rarely ever get. After being open for two weeks, people love Caribbean Joe's. I've personally served each customer and have asked everyone to please be completely honest about their experience. I've received only one complaint, (thank God) and we corrected it immediately.
The design was created without commercialism, (beer & liquor signs) where I wanted you to feel more like you are at home. I wanted the environment to be extremely comfortable for women but not uncomfortable for men. I truly believe I achieved that goal.
As you might expect, I've received a few comments here saying very nasty things about this business but I think we ALL know who that person is, hiding behind anonymous. Never man enough to use his name. Nevertheless, we've experienced steady business every single day and we are all so appreciative that people are willing to walk in and give us a shot.
My goal is to have a place of business that caters to LOCALS. I don't want two to three deep at the bar. We want to give you great service. We want to get to know you.
Come visit us this weekend and give us a chance to show you how your bar/restaurant experience should be. By the way, COME HUNGRY!
Jeffries Defends ‘Grand Wizard’ Comment About Trump: ‘I Don’t Regret the Use of the Language’
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) defended insulting the president during an appearance on "Meet the Press" Sunday.
During an Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, Jeffries called the president a "burglar" and alluded to the Klu Klux Klan in calling him a "grand wizard."
Jeffries, the House Democrat Caucus chair, directed the insults at President Donald Trump as he spoke to a crowd of NAACP supporters.
"We have a hater in the White House, a burglar-in-chief, the grand wizard of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," he said at the time, referencing the head position of the white supremacist KKK.
Jeffries defended the comment during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer several days later. He said that he had never called Trump racist.

House Democrats to Strike ‘So Help Me God’ from Oath
A draft of a new committee rules package expected to be approved this week would strike the phrase, “So help me God,” from the oath witnesses take when they testify before the House Committee on Natural Resources.
Fox News says it received an exclusive copy of the committee’s draft that places the phrase in red brackets, a sign the words are slated to be eliminated.
If the phrase is cut, the House Committee on Natural Resources would ask witnesses to state only: “Do you solemnly swear or affirm, under penalty of law, that the testimony that you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?”

Is Nancy Pelosi Fit To Be Speaker Of The House?
Questionable ties to organized crime and taxpayer dollars abuses
Nancy Pelosi’s father, Thomas D’Alessandro Jr., was the subject of a special investigation run by the FBI.
They were looking into his affairs with organized crime, and they were looking into Nancy’s brother who was arrested and tried for gang-raping two girls ages 11 and 13.
The DEA’s biggest heroin bust in the United States was at a California warehouse that Nancy Pelosi was tied to.
She is worth over one hundred million dollars, and has a reputation for abusing her use of American taxpayer dollars, including spending over one hundred thousand dollars in just two years for in-flight alcohol expenses.
Nancy Pelosi is just one of many in the swamp, but she is second in line in succession to the presidency.

Maxine Waters Blames President Trump for Attack On ‘EMPIRE’ Actor
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) blamed President Trump for the alleged hate crime attack targeting Empire actor Jussie Smollett during an interview with The Giro on Tuesday.
Smollett was, “brutally attacked by 2 men who beat him up, put his head in a noose,” according to TMZ.
The initial TMZ report also alleged that the suspects yelled, “this is MAGA country,” an accusation that Chicago Police have not been able to prove and some have speculated that validity of.
“I know Jussie. I love him. His family’s a friend of mine. I’m pleased that he’s doing okay. But we have to understand this is happening for a reason. Why all of a sudden do we have people unable to study while black, unable to mow a lawn while black, unable to have picnic while black, and being attacked?” Waters said.
“It’s coming from the president of the United States. He’s dog whistling every day. He’s separating and dividing, and he’s basically emboldening those folks who feel this way.”

Procter & Gamble CEO: 'There is an issue with toxic masculinity'
The CEO of Procter & Gamble, the parent company of Gillette, addressed the razor maker’s controversial “The Best Men Can Be” ad Wednesday, saying it “started a conversation” among men for finding ways to combat “toxic masculinity” and “sexist behavior.”
“That started a conversation. What we want to do is we want to connect with consumers, and there are some things that we do need to talk about,” David Taylor told Sara Eisen on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”
“There is an issue with toxic masculinity,” the CEO continued. “And what we wanted to do was show that there are some things, whether it’s bullying or sexist behavior, that we can be better. And to me, men are stepping up. And we showed in the commercial very clear examples of that happening.”

Notre Dame Joins the Crusade Against Columbus
The war on Columbus has been going on for a while—and it’s to be expected in far-left enclaves like Berkeley—but it’s sad to see America’s foremost Catholic university join in the crusade.
The Rev. John Jenkins, president of the University of Notre Dame, announced Sunday that school officials would cover murals of Christopher Columbus, the famed explorer credited with discovering the New World.
In a statement to the school, Jenkins said some found the murals offensive because they were “blind to the consequences of Columbus’s voyage for the indigenous peoples,” and saw them as demeaning.
Jenkins acknowledged some of Columbus’ contributions, but said that wasn’t enough to leave the murals uncovered at his school.

Flashback: Ralph Northam Refuses To Shake His Black Opponent’s Hand
Virginia Democrat governor Ralph Northam refused to shake the hand of his black opponent E.W. Jackson during a 2013 televised debate in the Virginia lieutenant governor’s race.
E.W. Jackson, his black opponent, said that Northam is “consistent” in his behavior, and not shaking his hand was just evidence of that. (READ: Fallout Continues From Ralph Northam’s Blackface Yearbook Photo).
“It was insulting, but, on the other hand, I thought it was consistent with the way he behaves. Because, this spot he’s been running, saying that I believe that a child born with birth defects is born that way because of their parents’ sin is just a damnable, palpable, despicable lie. I don’t believe that. I never said anything like that. And it’s that kind of dishonesty that, to me, says this is not the kind of person that needs to be holding state-wide office. Not shaking my hand really just confirmed that,” E.W. Jackson said in an interview on WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall.

DCCC Email Calls for ‘MASSIVE Uprising’
The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee raised the alarm in an email sent to supporters Saturday, calling for a "MASSIVE uprising."
The email detailed Roger Stone’s arrest Friday, and the implications for the investigation into President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. It warned that "[t]here is now serious concern that Trump or his allies could retaliate against [Special Counsel] Robert Mueller."
In response, the email demanded "a MASSIVE uprising" to save the investigation. It called for supporters to sign their names, claiming to need "2 MILLION signatures before midnight" in order to protect Mueller’s investigation.
It was not immediately clear why the signatures would protect Mueller.

Pelosi invites Trump to deliver State of the Union on Feb. 5
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Monday invited President Trump to deliver the State of the Union address on February 5.
The invitation from Pelosi comes after a planned January 29 date to give the address was scuttled due to the partial government shutdown. That led to a contentious back-and-forth between Trump and the House speaker before the president announced a deal to reopen the government on January 25.
“When I wrote to you on January 23rd, I stated that we should work together to find a mutually agreeable date when government has reopened to schedule this year’s State of the Union address," Pelosi wrote in her new invitation to Trump. "In our conversation today, we agreed on February 5th.
"Therefore, I invite you to deliver your State of the Union address before a Joint Session of Congress on February 5, 2019 in the House Chamber."
Shortly after receiving the invite, the president accepted.
"Thank you for your letter inviting me to deliver the State of the Union Address before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 5, 2019," Trump wrote in reply. "It is my great honor to accept. We have a great story to tell and yet, great goals to achieve.
"I look forward to seeing you on the 5th."

“White Skin Privilege” – a Racist Idea
We are facing a totalitarian threat in the Democrat Party.
The hottest political fad in America today is “Get Whitey.”
Across the country re-education sessions are routinely held in businesses, professional offices, medical schools, universities and even kindergartens, whose purpose is to teach the “un-woke” about the evils of “white privilege,” and make the whites who participate uncomfortable about their skin color.
The bottom line in these sessions: Whites need to own up to the fact that regardless of their intentions, beliefs, behaviors or status in life, they are elite participants in a racist system that oppresses “people of color,” and are so merely because they are white. But discrimination on the basis of sk*n color has been outlawed in this country for more than 60 years. Therefore one might reasonably ask, “WTF is white sk*n privilege”?
Here’s my politically incorrect answer: White sk*n privilege is the gift of being the only racial/ethnic group on the planet which it is okay to single out for abuse. Indeed, handing out such abuse is obligatory for all who regard themselves as “woke,” and aspire to create a brave new world of “social justice.” This is a category that includes the media, the popular culture, the educational system and such racist shapers of public opinion as Don Lemon, Joy Ann Reid, Joy Behar, Brian Stetler, Rachel Maddow, the editorial boards and reporters of the NY Times and the Washington Post, and their clones, and the Democrat Party.
White privilege is the privilege of being regarded as untrustworthy, prejudiced, and blind to the injustices one’s whiteness allegedly inflicts. White privilege is the privilege of being damned for alleged crimes like “Stop and Frisk” laws, and also the often imaginary crimes of one’s often alleged ancestors. Thus it is fashionable in today’s politically correct culture to seek reparations for slavery from Americans whose ancestors never owned slaves, were not even in the country at the time, and were oppressed themselves in ethnic and religious ghettos across the globe. Reparations for slavery are also sought from the descendants of Union soldiers who gave their lives to abolish slavery. Facts are irrelevant. It’s all about sk*n color.

Kamala Harris Pushes Medicare for All in Bid for Presidency
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) slammed President Trump’s plan for a border wall and pushed for “Medicare for All” as she formally launched her run for the Democratic presidential nomination Sunday.
“I’m running to fight for an America where the economy works for working people,” Harris announced to the crowd in Oakland, her hometown. “I am running to declare, once and for all, that health care is a fundamental right, and to deliver that right with ‘Medicare for All.’ To declare education is a fundamental right, and we will guarantee that right with universal pre-k and debt-free college.”
Harris, who was elected to the United States Senate in 2016 and previously served as California’s Attorney General, condemned and criticized the Trump administration’s hard stance on immigration and considered the wall to be “a medieval vanity project.”

Early Morning CNN Raid Exposed the FBI, Not Roger Stone
Finally. America is safe. Young children can go outside and play again. No longer is liberty and justice threatened by the scourge of the Donald Trump presidency. Or militant Russian collusion.
Roger Stone has been indicted!
In a predawn raid, heavily armed FBI SWAT team commandos wearing body armor and carrying loaded assault rifles stormed the home where Roger Stone, 66, lives in Florida with his wife.
Of course. Where else would the FBI find such a clear and present menace to peace and society, but a tranquil community where elderly people go to retire?
In a rare departure from their regular diet of Fake News, CNN was tipped off and captured dramatic footage of the daring raid in which Mr. Stone and his wife were rousted from bed in their pajamas. One can never be too careful! Mr. Stone barely had time to cover his giant back tattoo of President Richard Nixon with a T-shirt.
The nefarious Mr. Stone has been charged with lying to Congress. Stop laughing. This is serious! Because only Congress is allowed to lie — and only when talking to the American public.

Army Veteran Refused To Take His Trump Shirt Off At Gym. The Owner Escalated
An Army veteran who wore a Trump shirt to the gym he’d attended for eight years, was allegedly labeled a racist and asked not to don the apparel again.
Staff Sgt. Jake Talbot wore a “2016 Trump For President” shirt to CDY Fitness in Troy,Missouri, and was quickly told by gym owner Liz Drew that the shirt was racist and offensive, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
Talbot says he began working out before being approached by Drew who told him the shirt was offensive. “It’s offensive to her and others. It represents racism, and it’s racist,” Drew reportedly told him, according to Talbot.
Talbot continued working out and soon after posted a video to Facebook describing the encounter.

Parents denied access to their children's medical records by law
A Coralville, Iowa father recently found out he will no longer have access to his 12-year-old daughter's medical records, so he asked KCRG’s I9 investigative team to investigate.
Kevin Christians, of Coralville, said a letter triggered his concerns alerting him he was losing access to his daughter's medical records.
At the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, parents are no longer able to see test results, messages from doctors and other information once a child turns 12.
The letter said the hospital wants children at that age to be more active in their own health care. Christians said he believes 12 is too young to keep parents in the dark.
