Seconds After Firing Smith & Wesson for the First Time, Something Had Him Running in Pure Panic: ‘Move, Move!’

WATCH: Video shows tree collapse to the ground after bullet hits it (content warning: language):
Video posted online shows a man fire a .500 Smith & Wesson firearm for the first time — and then run in pure panic when he realized its ramifications.

After the man pulls the trigger, appearing to fire a round at a target pinned on a tree trunk, footage shows the piece of timber fall down toward him.

“Watch out! Move! Move!” the man filming shouted. “Oh sh**!”

Barack Obama, Bewildered Bystander

He’s angry, but not angry enough to fix what’s wrong.

The president is upset. Very upset. Frustrated and angry. Seething about the government’s handling of Ebola, said the front-page headline in the New York Times last Saturday.

There’s only one problem with this pose, so obligingly transcribed for him by the Times. It’s his government. He’s president. Has been for almost six years. Yet Barack Obama reflexively insists on playing the shocked outsider when something goes wrong within his own administration.

IRS? “It’s inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it,” he thundered in May 2013, when the story broke of the agency’s targeting of conservative groups. “I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the IRS.”

Obama: Ebola is a “Trial Run” For a Deadlier Airborne Disease

President's comments raise eyebrows

In little noticed comments made earlier this week, President Barack Obama said that the Ebola outbreak in the United States could be a “trial run” for a deadlier airborne disease in the future.

During remarks made after a White House meeting with the administration’s Ebola Response Coordinator Ron Klain, Obama tried to reassure the public that the U.S. health infrastructure was prepared to deal with additional cases of Ebola.

However, the President raised some eyebrows when he suggested that the current outbreak could merely be a precursor to a more deadly epidemic.

Jimmy Carter: ‘If Texas Doesn’t Want to Have Gay Marriage, Then That’s a Right for Texas People to Have’

Jimmy Carter doesn’t think marriage laws should be decided at the federal level.

“I’m kind of inclined to let the states decide individually,” the former president told WFAA, an ABC affiliate, in an interview that aired Sunday.

“As you see, more and more states are deciding on gay marriage every year,” Carter said. “If Texas doesn’t want to have gay marriage, then I think that’s a right for Texas people to decide.”

He also spoke out in support for the religious liberty of church leaders who do not support same-sex marriage.

A Southerner Repents

My sins creep up on me, sent by the Devil, and beset me by surprise. I know not what to do. A month ago, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I sat on the banks of the Rappahannock River, upon which as a stripling I had canoed and fished, and reflected on how much I liked the South. I knew I should not. At least I am told that I should not, chiefly by people who would make a hoe seem a pinnacle of intellect, but these are the bedrock of Yankee society, and I must respect them.

Besides, I fear that meridional leanings are in my blood. Yes, alas. I am tainted. I am Frederick Venable Reed. Charles Scott Venable was on Lee’s staff, and Andrew Reid Venable of the staff of Jeb Stuart. We have never looked fondly on Federal intrusion. So there I am.

And yet, much as I loved the peace and light of the riverbank in that Southern town, much as I treasured a boyhood of BB guns and bare feet and dogs with no licences and people who talked slow and suppple as the Good Lord intended, I had to concede the sins of the South. Even today, the dark stains remain. The signs are everywhere.

Cop Suspended After Footage Captures Him Give Teen Profanity-Laced Threat After Simple, Legal Act

A Philadelphia police officer captured on video issuing a profanity-laced threat to a teenager for making eye contact with him will be disciplined, the department said over the weekend.

According to WCAU-TV, the department is aware of the footage circulating on social media and will hold the officer responsible.

A 12-second video posted earlier this month on Facebook depicts the cop cursing at a teenager after he made eye contact with the officer while with his group of friends. It’s not clear from the video, however, what took place before the video was recorded.

Aberdeen Proving Ground Sends Chemists To Help With Ebola Outbreak

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (WJZ) — Aberdeen Proving Ground is sending a team of Army chemists to West Africa to help with the Ebola outbreak.

Marcus Washington has the plan to battle the deadly virus.

This mission is not like many others. Instead of heading into a combat zone, these soldiers are joining a humanitarian mission.

In Army tradition, family members, loved ones and fellow soldiers are sending the unit off with a colors painting ceremony, where they cover the flags until the unit arrives in Liberia.

ISIS was spawned in Saudi Arabia

This is our ally?  The Saudi's have been funding radical Islamists mosques and schools around the world, including inside the U.S.  And we fund it with payments for oil.

The Islamic evil that is ISIS was spawned in Saudi Arabia

Posted on October 22, 2014  John MyersViews: 9,937

“Saudi Arabia is the most extreme fundamentalist state in the world. It’s also a missionary state. It’s expending huge efforts — has been for many years — to disseminate its extremist Wahhabi-Salafi version of Islam, all with U.S. backing.” — Noam Chomsky
تظهر يديك! is Arabic for “Show your hands!” I heard it from two giant bodyguards standing only inches away from my father and me. They yelled it while gesturing with submachine guns in hand, which is a more effective language tool than anything you get from “Hooked on Ebonics.”
It happened when the elevator door opened to the penthouse in a hotel in Geneva after my dad had gumshoed our way into an OPEC meeting in the 1980s.
My father wanted to get the scoop on why Saudi Arabia was driving the price of oil down from an OPEC benchmark price of more than $35 per barrel to less than $11. He understood that Saudi Arabia was the world’s swing producer and that with enough convincing by its closest ally in the world, the United States, the Saudis could pretty much do anything they wanted when it came to the price of crude. That was because Saudi Arabia could pump up to 14 million barrels per day and controlled nearly one-third of the world’s oil reserves. What my father had forgotten from his trips to Saudi Arabia in the 1960s was how ruthless the House of Saud could be, especially when it came to dealing with infidels and interlopers.
Looking back, that seems incredulous because as an oil publisher and guest of Crown Prince Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the early 1960s, my dad was treated to a weekend of entertainment that included public beheadings. Whether or not there was an implicit message for Western petroleum producers I can’t even hazard a guess. What I know is that a close friend of mine who has been to Saudi Arabia was also invited to such a spectacle.

According to broadcast news, only ISIS is evil

Last week, the news media finally carried a couple of stories about the brutality inside Saudi Arabia. Newsweek wrote this headline, “When It Comes to Beheadings, ISIS Has Nothing Over Saudi Arabia.” From the story:
The escalation of the war against the Islamic State was triggered by widespread revulsion at the gruesome beheading of two American journalists, relayed on YouTube. Since then, two British aid workers have met a similar grisly fate. And another American has been named as next in line by his terrorist captors.
Yet, for all the outrage these executions have engendered the world over, decapitations are routine in Saudi Arabia, America’s closest Arab ally, for crimes including political dissent—and the international press hardly seems to notice. In fact, since January, 59 people have had their heads lopped off in the kingdom, where “punishment by the sword” has been practiced for centuries.
So why is Anderson Cooper from CNN not over there covering this story? One reason may be that he has come out as a homosexual. And in Saudi Arabia they give gays the chop! Oh, yes, Connie Chung, the Saudi religious police also beat women who drive cars, ride bicycles or are out in public unattended by their male guardians.
Yet the gay/feminist lobby and all the liberals say nary a word about Saudi Arabia. That’s because people like President Barack Obama, whether he is a Muslim or not, bow to King Abdullah.
Truth is not much has changed in Saudi Arabia when it comes to their barbaric ways for the past half century. And if you think about it, not much has changed since the Prophet Muhammad, a man who had close relationships with young boys half a millennium ago. The big differences are the result of the discovery of massive oil reserves, which has created incredible riches. And all of that took off when the United States made a deal with the Saudi devils in 1945.
That blood oath made by the U.S. has allowed America access to massive Saudi oil fields and fueled the denial of them to other great powers. It is still a bedrock deal today regardless of what the House of Saud does, including their full-fledged backing of the most barbaric terrorists in the world.
Thus, Saudi money is spilling over to the Islamic State (ISIS); and some of those petrodollars are being funneled from the United States and its unmitigated faith in the House of Saud. Yes, your taxpayer money is going to the very groups that want to kill you.
And if you think ISIS is bad, the group doesn’t carry a candle to the House of Saud when it comes to beheadings or other kinds of violence.
You can search YouTube for “Saudi Arabia beheadings” and see for yourself; but having done so myself, I would strongly recommend against it. Growing up in the country, I didn’t much like it when my dad took the hatchet to the chickens; and as you can imagine, that pales in comparison to seeing it happen to a human.
Yet beheadings are high times in Riyadh, spectacles with crowds you might imagine for a really big grudge match under the Friday night football lights. I don’t know if popcorn is served; but, of course, beer is off-limits. That would go against the will of Allah.
According to Newsweek: “People will gather to watch you die. They are the ‘only form of public entertainment’ in Saudi Arabia, aside from football matches.”
And while Allah may prohibit alcohol and women in public without a shower-curtain draped over their heads, there doesn’t seem to be much else that upsets the Muslim god and his sadistic prophet. Devotees, backed by their religious police, are free to murder, maim and collect all the arms and oil revenues they can — most of them provided by Uncle Sam. And while Saudi Arabia will kill homosexuals, young men in Saudi Arabia are sequestered from women and, thus, privately have sexual relations constantly with each other — but only in private.

Sleep soundly, Hollywood; the Saudis only kill people, not ducks

Movie stars have been making pilgrimages to Alberta over climate change. They come to Alberta to make movies and to protest dirty oil sands where hundreds or even thousands of ducks have been soaked in oil. No doubt, big stars like environmentalists Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo have discussed this, perhaps over pomegranate duck dinner. I have a suggestion for these two and other big stars. Try flying your Gulfstream jets into Saudi Arabia and carry a banner to one of the weekly beheadings. That way, you can sacrifice yourself for a good cause — that being we don’t have to hear your hypocritical arguments added to the liberal choir that is always fussing that carbon is being spilled into the atmosphere but couldn’t give a rat’s rear end about blood flowing throughout that desolate desert where there is no pity, no morality beyond the razor’s edge of a Saudi sword. And before one of you liberal critics attacks me over this, ask yourself this: When was the last time the Canadian government beheaded somebody, and when was the last time you ate duck?

Will ISIS be the future rulers of Saudi Arabia?

Washington is clamoring because the main goal of ISIS is the rich oil fields of Saudi Arabia. ISIS has already flanked this corrupt and despicable regime, and our government will send your sons and daughters to die for Saudi oil. You can bet on it. But in the end is ISIS, the devil we don’t know, any worse than the House of Saud, the devil we do know? Neither wants to drill for petroleum in the United States or run a pipeline from Canada. That is an evil that Obama and most of Congress cannot accept.
So the oil keeps flowing, the blood keeps spilling and dollars roll in like a tidal wave to one of the most baseless, evil nations in the world. Thank you, Al Gore!
Yours in good times and bad,
Ellen Sauerbrey

NICK STUETZ SENTENCED TO 5 YEARS DOC FOR ASSAULT ON WCDC GUARD‏

On October 27, 2014, Nicholas Stuetz, age 25, of Salisbury, Maryland, was convicted by a Wicomico County jury of assaulting a Wicomico County Detention Center officer on February 10thof this year. Stuetz was serving the active eighteen (18) month portion of a ten (10) year sentence for conspiring to commit robbery. He was sentenced by the Circuit Court to five (5) years in the Division of Corrections to be served consecutively to any and all other sentences.

The charges against Stuetz arose out of his actions, February 10, 2014, when he was asked to surrender a plastic storage tub from his jail cell. The plastic containers were determined to pose a risk to other inmates because the plastic tubs were being broken into pieces and sharpened into weapons. Stuetz became angry and threw the plastic tub at the officer’s face. The tub struck the officer in the chin and chest area causing injury.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Wicomico County Detention Center officers and employees for their hard work in performing a difficult and dangerous job each day. Mr. Maciarello commented: “We cannot tolerate assaults upon corrections officers. If inmates cannot follow the laws of our State and the rules of our detention center, we will advocate that they be sent to the Division of Corrections—this is a policy that aims to keep our local detention center orderly and safe.” Mr. Maciarello also thanked the citizens of Wicomico County who sat on the jury and Safe Streets Prosecutor, Richard J. Brueckner Jr., who prosecuted this case.

Maryland Officials Outline Ebola-Monitoring Plan

Anyone in Maryland considered to have high-risk exposure to the Ebola virus will be required to stay home until they are confirmed to be Ebola-free, under a plan to monitor people who have come from three West African countries, state officials said Monday.

Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, Maryland's health secretary, said the plan isn't as restrictive as one criticized in New York and New Jersey, where a nurse was quarantined at a medical facility over the weekend. Maryland health officials will be able to order a high-risk person to stay home, if necessary.

"I think that our approach is we want people to stay at home," Sharfstein said after a news conference in Baltimore. "We will make sure they stay at home, but that they'll want to stay at home also, we think, and so we'll have an agreement with them, but if there's any concern we can use an order, too."

Maryland School Bans Marine Veteran Over Daughter’s Homework

La Plata High School in Charles County, Maryland sent home worksheets with students that infuriated parents. The homework? Three pages of Islamic propaganda. Then the school filed a restraining order against a US Marine veteran parent who refused to let his child participate in the assignment.

An assignment on Islam

When Kevin Wood stopped by his daughter’s room and asked how she was doing with her homework, she seemed to be hiding it from him. He took the papers and looked at them, but what he found made him livid.

Her world history class talked about Muhammad and the tenets of Islamic religion…comparing it to Christianity, but without allowing Christians to be heard. It indoctrinated the students with false ideas of Islam, and did not give them a true picture. History is literally being re-written.

The True Reason Gas Prices are Falling (Hint: It’s Not Because of Green Energy)

American workers and motorists got some badly-needed relief this week when the price of oil plunged to its lowest level in years. The oil price has fallen by about 20 to 25 percent since its peak back in June of $105 a barrel. This is translating to lower prices at the pump with many states now below $3 a gallon.

Already the lower oil and gas prices are the equivalent of a $70 to 200 billion cost saving to American consumers and businesses. That’s $70 to 200 billion a year we don’t have to send to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other foreign nations. Now that’s an economic stimulus par excellence.

There are many global reasons why gas prices are falling, but the major one isn’t being widely reported. America has become in the last several years an energy-producing powerhouse. And sorry, Mr. President, I’m not talking about the niche “green energy” sources you are so weirdly fixated with.

SBYnews Political Endorsements - Wicomico County Council - Part 2

Joe Holloway - District 5 Wicomico County Council
Joe Holloway is a lifelong residence of Wicomico County.  The editorial staff feels that his prior county council experience and work experience are vital to Wicomico's future.  He ran a Country Store in Parsonsburg for many years - and he continues to operate a small business.  He is cognizant of his core constituency for a limited role of government - while holding the line on tax increases, and restraining local budgets.  We believe that his role as former Council President brings many advantages in that he is sensitive to all citizens - not just a select few.  His strong consensus building attitude will be critical to the new arrivals.  He received our highest 5 star rating among all County Council candidates - in all subject areas.

John Cannon - Wicomico County At Large
John Cannon is also a lifelong residence of Wicomico County and - here again - his prior experience makes him a prime selection.  His core values are rooted in conservatism - in that he believes in a limited government role.  His fiscal growth philosophy is based on 'a rising tide raises all ships'  approach in that the best way to spur revenues is through job generation.  We feel as though Mr. Cannon will make an excellent choice to help lead Wicomico County out of the current financial doldrums.

Marc Kilmer - District 2 Wicomico County Council
We believe that Marc Kilmer will be another fine addition as he also received a 5 star rating.  We feel as though he has a very strong grasp on the current economic pulse of Wicomico County as he has previously attended many county council meetings, public hearings, and has been active in the Central Committee activities.  We also feel as though he possesses very strong leadership skills and will provide a stable influence to those county council members who will be tempted to 'flip flop'.  Our staff gave him a unanimous thumbs-up.

Larry Dodd - District 3 Wicomico County Council
Larry Dodd previously served on the Wicomico County Council - so he already knows about the inner workings of the County Council.  His prior experience puts him in a class by himself because he already knows about the pressures associated with special interest.  We believe he will help to 'gel' the conservative principles.

Matt Holloway - At Large Wicomico County Council
Matt Holloway has already served one term on the Wicomico County Council and his business background puts him in the spotlight in trying to attract new industries to Wicomico County.  As most of the public is aware - the local area workforce numbers are abysmal in that Wicomico has lost jobs for 19 consecutive months.  We believe that with a new County Executive at the helm that he will help to coalesce the conservative group into a positive force.  We therefore give him our 'thumbs-up' endorsement.

Chistopher Adams - Maryland House of Delegates - 37B
Our apologies extend to Mr. Adams as our earlier post erroneously failed to mention our endorsement - but we also give Mr. Adams a very high rating for the House of Delegates seat.  We feel his balance on the environment as well as his economic development emphasis will prove him to be an asset at the political bargaining table.  One of his campaign's focal points is,  'Advocate of a coherent plan for environmental sustainability without hindering robust economic growth and our way of life on the Eastern Shore'.  We therefore give him our endorsement.

We strongly encourage the general public to get out in great numbers to express their desire for all of the above mentioned candidates listed in our slate.  Election day is Tuesday, November 4th and we strongly advise you to participate.

Shake it Off: Obama Version

Frank Zappa - Lost Interview - Problems with Democracy

7 Signs You Don't Make Enough Money

If you are constantly struggling to make ends meet, you may be facing a combination of problems. It can be frustrating to be in a financial rut and not be able to find a way out. You may think that you make decent money, but you are still struggling each month. You may be overspending or you may not make enough money. You may be overspending while not making enough to cover your basic needs. This can lead to real trouble. If you do not make enough to cover your bills, you will need to take steps now to increase your income. Even if you feel like you are too poor to budget, a budget can help you get back on track, and you can use these strategies to help you cope with being poor. Learn seven signs that you do not make enough money.

1. You Are Using Your Credit Cards Every Month

One of the biggest signs that you have an income issue is that you are using credit cards towards the end of the month to cover all of your expenses. If you are running out of money during the month, or you are using credit cards to help you manage between paychecks, then you are most likely facing an income issue. You need to find a way to stop using your credit cards

2. You Run Out of Money at the Beginning of the Month

Every now and then, you can have a bad month where everything is super tight the last week or so. However, if you are struggling to make ends meet after the fifth of the month, then you are most likely facing an income crisis. This is a strong indicator of an income crisis, because it demonstrates that there is not as much overspending going on. If you are barely able to pay your bills and you do not have enough left over to eat on, then you are not making enough money.

Hillary Clinton To Campaign For Brown

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton is scheduled to come to Maryland to help Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s campaign for governor.

Brown’s campaign announced Clinton is planning to attend a rally on Thursday to urge voters to the polls.

The event will be held at the University of Maryland, College Park, in Ritchie Coliseum — five days before Election Day.

It’s the second big rally recently for Brown in Prince George’s County, his home base and a jurisdiction important to winning the race. President Barack Obama held a rally for him in Upper Marlboro last week.

Former church finance manager sentenced to 10 years for $760,000 theft

The theft of more than $760,000 from Chester United Methodist Church ruined the parish’s credit, forced layoffs of church staff, caused mission programs to be eliminated and necessitated $200,000 in loans to pay bills as the congregation struggled to recover.

The church’s pastor and two other parish leaders testified Wednesday in Chesterfield Circuit Court about the devastating effects — emotional and financial — that former church finance administrator Jerri S. Hunter fostered by embezzling at least $760,389 from the church over 4½ years through deceptive bookkeeping practices.

“When our congregation first heard that Jerri Hunter had embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from our treasury, the reaction was anger, hurt, disbelief, betrayal and great sorrow,” James Watkins, lay leader of the 1,400-member congregation, wrote in a victim-impact statement.

50 Percent Of American Workers Make Less Than 28,031 Dollars A Year

The Social Security Administration has just released wage statistics for 2013, and the numbers are startling. Last year, 50 percent of all American workers made less than $28,031, and 39 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000. If you worked a full-time job at $10 an hour all year long with two weeks off, you would make $20,000. So the fact that 39 percent of all workers made less than that amount is rather telling. This is more evidence of the declining quality of the jobs in this country. In many homes in America today, both parents are working multiple jobs in a desperate attempt to make ends meet. Our paychecks are stagnant while the cost of living just continues to soar. And the jobs that are being added to the economy pay a lot less than the jobs lost in the last recession. In fact, it has been estimated that the jobs that have been created since the last recession pay an average of 23 percent less than the jobs that were lost. We are witnessing the slow-motion destruction of the middle class, and very few of our leaders seem to care.

The “average” yearly wage in America last year was just $43,041. But after accounting for inflation, that was actually worse than the year before

American paychecks shrank last year, just-released data show, further eroding the public’s purchasing power, which is so vital to economic growth.

Average pay for 2013 was $43,041 — down $79 from the previous year when measured in 2013 dollars. Worse, average pay fell $508 below the 2007 level, my analysis of the new Social Security Administration data shows.

Flat or declining average pay is a major reason so many Americans feel that the Great Recession never ended for them. A severe job shortage compounds that misery not just for workers but also for businesses trying to profit from selling goods and services.

Average pay declined in 59 of the 60 levels of worker pay the government reports each October.

And please keep in mind that “average pay” is really skewed by the millionaires and billionaires at the top end of the spectrum.

Maryland Named a Top Ten State for Energy Efficiency for the 4th Year in a Row

ANNAPOLIS, MD – For the fourth consecutive year, Maryland has been named a top ten state by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). Its annual State Energy Efficiency scorecard benchmarks the progress of state energy efficiency policies and programs. Under Governor O’Malley’s leadership, Maryland has risen from the #20 spot in 2006 to its current position at #9.

Governor O’Malley has made energy efficiency a priority. One of the O’Malley-Brown Administration’s 16 strategic goals is reducing both per capita peak demand and per capita electricity consumption in Maryland by 15 percent by 2015. As of 2013, peak demand is down 14.6 percent and per capita consumption is down 10.1 percent. Additionally, as a result of the State’s energy efficiency efforts, Marylanders have saved $3.2 billion in lifetime energy costs.

“Maryland’s top ten leadership position recognizes the progress our State has made by setting real energy efficiency goals with specific deadlines, measuring our performance openly for all to see, and driving real results for the people we serve,” said Governor O’Malley. “Reducing energy costs and consumption helps our State build a stronger economy and a more sustainable energy future.”

Wooters, 62 of Felton was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound directly behind Miller on US13 in the right lane as well. As the two motorcycles approached Williamsville Road, a tan colored van turned northbound from Williamsville Road and began traveling up the shoulder of the roadway. The van then pulled into the right lane directly in front of Miller’s motorcycle causing him to brake suddenly. Wooters was unable to slow in time and struck the rear of Miller’s motorcycle ejecting Wooters and his female passenger from the bike. Miller was able to bring his motorcycle to a controlled stop on the northbound shoulder. No direct contact was made with the unidentified van and it continued northbound on US13 without stopping.

William Wooters and his wife, Mary Ann Wooters, 56 of Felton, were not wearing helmets at the time of the collision and were transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital where she was admitted with undetermined injuries. William Wooters was later flown to Christiana Medical Center where he was admitted with undetermined injuries.

Carl Miller and his 46 year old female passenger were uninjured in the crash.

Northbound US13 was closed for approximately an hour and a half while the crash was investigated and cleared. No charges have been filed.

Man accused of raping girls, infecting them with HIV

HOUSTON -- David Richard Wilson, 33, was found guilty of the sexual assault of a child in 2005 and sentenced to four years in prison. Six years later, Wilson was back in court, accused in two new cases that, if proven, may have lifelong consequences for two more children.

Wilson is charged with super aggravated sexual assault of a child. The enhanced charge is because of the age of the alleged victim. She was only 23 months old at the time. We have also been told that the child is Wilson's niece.

A court document states that the alleged assault occurred last year. The toddler's parents are said to have lived out of state, had drug problems and sent their daughter to live with family in Houston. The child is the daughter of Wilson's sister.

At the same time, three off-duty Virginia Beach police officers were leaving the pub, said the bar manager. According to security, the officers had eaten dinner and were not in uniform. 10 On Your Side has received conflicting reports about when the officers’ next shift would start.
