Vacation

Since everyone else has slacked off recently, it's time for me to do the same. I'll be back but I'm going to relax for a few days and take it easy. Try not to miss me too much. LOL

O'Malley Has No Clue What He's Doing

Do you all want to know why we're getting ready to get screwed by the Governor of Maryland and who's fault it is? It's YOUR fault.

As many of you saw this decent looking guy who seemed to be trustworthy, you're about to get boned in a big way, simply because his administration is far too lazy.

Look, I'm about to tell you something that is out of the normal reach of understanding but it is factual and can easily resolve ALL the tax problems in the State of Maryland and even across America.

How many times do you walk into a business and NOT get a receipt? I'm not just talking about a Guest Check with a Casio calculator receipt. I'm talking about a genuine register receipt!

Go to any Chinese Restaurant. cleaners, car wash, you name it, they're SCREWING YOU! The State of Maryland already has a system that is absolutely perfect for ALL businesses. Years ago, (believe it or not) I was the very first KENO Customer in the State of Maryland. Those Keno and Lottery Machines were absolutely bitchin!

Here's how they worked. You'd sell a ticket and it would calculate the sales for the day/week. The money would be deposited into a separate account and the State would take their earnings out of that account once a week. What was left over was your commissions and earnings.

IF the State had a register system that automatically did the same thing in which it would automatically take out the tax INCOME the business has already taken in cash wise, the State would gain an additional 3 to 4 billion dollars a year that businesses are LYING and screwing each and every one of YOU!

I don't know WHEN YOU PEOPLE are going to get it and actually start acting responsible but the fact is, IT'S YOUR FAULT! If YOU walk into a business and they give you a calculator receipt, call the Police! Report them to the IRS instantly! Are your fingers broken? Don't walk into a damn antique shop and PAY TAXES, (you Idiot) and NOT get a receipt proving the other Idiots are actually going to pay it! ACT responsible for once and then your taxes won't go up!

If the business refuses to offer you a receipt, thrown everything back on the counter and say, I DON'T WANT IT! Look, the IRS only has so many people working for them. YOU need to help them as they cannot fix something they are NOT aware of! What happened to the old America anyway? Terrorism starts right here at home. IF you see a clerk not ringing it up, are they sending that money over to terrorists and laughing IN YOUR FACE because they know they just got an additional 5% out of you and they never intended to pay our Government that money?

Get off your lazy asses any more and call the IRS! YOU make a difference and then we won't hear about these raids and everyone get shocked this was happening right in our own back yards! YOU KNEW IT ALL ALONG!

The State needs to take the high risk cheating businesses and force them to use this new register system that will report ALL sales and they can take their taxes out instantly, if not daily. The Store collected the funds from YOU, they better NOT bitch about the State collecting THEIR money right away! It wasn't the store's to start with!

As I know the Governor reads this Blog daily, I refuse to stand by any politicians side when they're too damn lazy to make the system work. They would rather PUNISH you and I for these jackasses who are STEALING for you and I. REPORT THESE CHEATERS IMMEDIATELY! Then perhaps your taxes won't go up. The other thing everyone will recognize from this system would be ONE style of receipt from each and every store. In other words, the State would provide the paper and each receipt would be on a roll provided by the state.

Oh, if you disagree with this system, more than likely you're one of those cheaters. This is America and we're at war. It's time to own up to what we have to do as a Country and fix some of the major problems with extremely easy solutions. That being said, if you have a better idea I welcome your comments and suggestions. Being that I have experience with these Keno Machines, I happen to have first hand knowledge that the state can know each and every day exactly what your sales were and what they can absolutely collect directly out of your account every day or week. If the cheating ends, the State will have so much extra money it isn't funny. Quit punishing ALL of us O'Malley and start going after those who are screwing US and protest US instead!

Family Fun Pak

Has anyone noticed how screwed you're getting any more at the Grocery Stores? Even in the Candy Department they have now put out there a new Family Pak of snack food that used to be 10 decent sized candy bars for usually $1.00 is now reduced to 8 bars and they're 1/3 smaller than they used to be!

Oh I know Billy Duvall will be all over me about this but I don't care. This has got to be price fixing and let me tell you why. How come ALL manufacturers did the exact same thing at the exact same time? When Chrysler came out with the Mini Van and the PT Cruiser, it took a year or two before anyone else came up with the same kind of vehicle.

Anyhow, I think it sucks that these manufacturers get away with it and that the consumer is that stupid to fall for it. The cost of buying a candy bar didn't go up 1/3? Heck, they didn't go up at all! So why the all of a sudden increase?

Oh well, they've lost any of my business on them any more. I used to love freezing the small Milky Way Bars. Not any more.

San Domingo Was The Hot Spot Last Night

I sat in my driveway last night and I punched into my GPS System, Mardella Springs. The I put in San Domingo Road, NOTHING! I then changed it from Mardella Springs to San Domingo, NOTHING! Granted, my GPS System is 9 months old but it was around $700.00 when we bought it, so it was top of the line at the time.

I then got on the phone with a friend who was able to give me directions to this tiny Town in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, mainly because it was night time and I was heading down one lane wide roads that take two way traffic.

When I finally arrived at my destination I was a little late but I had arrived safe and sound. I was told to watch out for all the deer on the roads along the way because this was truly God's Country. I stood outside the building they were holding this event and I couldn't help hearing something very familiar from my past. No noise whatsoever. No cars, no voices, it was completely silent and peaceful and you knew you were only miles away from a completely different environment.

I walked into the building where to my amazement the room was almost packed with around 40 locals and the rest filled with concerned politicians who were there to listen. Sure, they had some things to say, each and every one of them and even I learned some cool things I hadn't known before. After going to most meetings in the County for the past few years, I thought I at least had a heads up over most but last night proved me wrong.

Perhaps I'm so used to the Salisbury style of politics, "what you don't know can't hurt you" style. I learned last night that the Wicomico County Sheriffs Department is 86 sworn Officers strong. I started thinking about what Chiefy Gary Baker had said and I thought, wait a minute, isn't the Salisbury Police Department the same size? I was right, they are.

So here we are with this gigantic County being Policed by 86 Officers and that includes the Officers behind desks in the main Office as well as Gary Baker & Mike Lewis. Seriously Folks, you have to tip your hat to an organization that size running an entire County far more efficiently that those running the Salisbury Police Department. Sorry but it's a fact.

Mrs. Sheree Sample-Hughes pulled off something I have yet to see anyone else pull off in my recent memory and she needs to be commended for it. The photos above clearly show who showed up and how many showed up. More importantly it was about WHY they showed up. They wanted everyone to know, no matter where you're at, big Town or little Town, this County Council cares and your voices are going to be heard.

Rick Pollitt joked about how perfect the conditions were for a landfill in that exact community, yet the people had spoken and by the time they were done with their meeting there was absolutely no way they were going to consider that community for such a landfill.

It was simply refreshing to watch citizens ask good solid questions and not hear silence, like the Salisbury City Council always does. There were immediate answers to every one's questions and not a single, we'll have to get back with you on that one.

So why did things flow like they did? Because the Wicomico County Council and County Executive HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE! I need to firmly add as well, BECAUSE THEY TRULY CARE! If only the City of Salisbury could adopt this same kind of community management, Salisbury would be the perfect place to live. Eventually people are going to see this pattern of Government in the Sunshine and demand the same kind of respect to those Citizens paying taxes no matter if you're in West Nithsdale or on the West Side, it makes no difference!

My hat is tipped to everyone in attendance last night and it truly was a pleasure participating.

Free Speech?

Something very interesting just came to my attention regarding the use of the internet as a method of communication. As you may know, thousands of people have been protesting in Myanmar for democracy. It appears that the Government of Myanmar has determined that the internet has been instrumental in facilitating free speech and is fueling the fire of democracy. The Government of Myanmar has subsequently interrupted the access of the internet by the citizens in an attempt to stop the protests.

It appears to me that there are similarities between what is going on in Myanmar right now and what is going on right here in the U.S. on both local and national levels, albeit in lesser degrees. While no one is being shot in the street by the govt. here in the U.S., the attempts to quiet unfettered free speech in both locations are obvious.

People in Myanmar are trying to OBTAIN democracy and free speech.
People in the U.S. are trying to RETAIN democracy and free speech.

The govt. in Myanmar is actively trying to stop the people from having a democracy and free speech.
Many members of local and federal govt. here in the U.S. are actively trying to reduce our rights to free speech which, among other things, equate to our democracy.

The govt. of Myanmar is using it's military as a tool to suppress free speech and democracy.
Members of our govt. are using the courts and legislature in attempts suppress free speech and democracy.

Govt. in both nations have recognized that free communication between the people is detrimental to the idea that the govenment should function without regard to the will of the people. In both nations the internet has been identified as an effective method by which the people communicate the voice of democracy. In our nation, members of local govt. have initiated lawsuits against you in attempts to stop your challenge of thier decisions and the methods they use to govern. On a national level, certain members of congress are actively seeking to implement legislation known as the "Fairness Doctrine" which gives the government control of the content of the speech on radio stations, another form of media which is used here to promote our political views. This follows the failure of the passage of an "Amnesty Bill" due almost entirely to collaborative efforts by "We, the People" who united via talk radio and blogs to present our resounding will.

I promise you - the writing is on the wall. A time is coming very soon when we will see members of our govt. attempting to enact legislation that control or limit communication on the internet, especially the blogs. It will come quietly and will likely be hidden in the pages of an entirely unrelated law in an attempt to fly in under the radar - but it is coming.

Think about this. Communication is the vehicle used to unite people. Two of the methods used most widely by people in our country are talk radio and the weblogs (blogs). Attempts are already underway to control radio.
1) There is one step between the govt. of Myanmar and the suppression of free speech (communication) of its people - Force.
2) There are two steps between the U.S. Govt. and the suppression of free speech of it's people - Legislation (which almost always authorizes the use of force to ultimately ensure compliance) and Force.

In order to prevent our democracy from slipping away any further than it already has, we must all be diligent and speak out against any legislation that erodes our right to free speech in ANY form. We must challenge ANY effort that threatens to divide us as a people. If we don't, we will have been permanently divided as a people and the remainder our constitutional rights will have been effectively revoked .

The Next Expansion Of The GOB?

Considering the Fire Department wants to be rid of this particular building, I believe pressure should be put on the Mayor and her Administration to remodel this building, (already paid for) and expand what Offices the Mayor feels necessary to expand into.

The location is extremely convenient, (as close as you're going to get to the current GOB) and the renovations would be minimal. There's no question the City is expanding as well as the County, so why not relieve that expansion by relocating let's say Public Works to this location?

There's no reason to rid of this real estate and as the Mayor has been allegedly searching for other locations, this one makes sense and it's your City, you should decide.

Gary Comegys spearheaded a meeting months ago referencing Citizen Input on what the City should do with this property and very conveniently dropped the ball on it. There has been no follow up by the Press on this matter, (even though I have personally been trying to get someone to do so) as I feel this matter is an important one.

It is my opinion the City should NOT get rid of this real estate and the current administration has proven they need additional space, so why not here? In a City Council Meeting I also asked the Council, (specifically Gary Comegys) if this property extends all the way to the River, since they closed off the road beside the old Fire Station. No one answered me then and no one got back to me on that question. Since they closed to road, my guess would be that the City could even extend the building on that additional real estate and triple the size of that building.

There are plenty of variables with this property and I would hope someone would put pressure on the City to keep the Fire Station and convert it for future use. It's up to all of you?

Are You Ready To Adopt An Adorable Puppy?

A message from a friend.

This little sweet heart was dropped off at my house on Wednesday night, found under a visiting friends jeep 6 Am on Thursday. He was in terrible condition, and I immediately took him to the vets. He is doing great, and is training potty very well, and has a schedule of eat and sleep and poop and play. He had antibiotics and worm medicine, talk about disgusting about a cup full of parasites. He had many bite marks (puncture wounds) around his neck and on his back. The vet said to wait for his shots, which I will do next week.

I cannot keep him and it breaks my heart, he is wonderful. He has blue eyes, and I am a total sucker for blue eyes. Vet said he is just 6 weeks, and needs a mother. So, I have been holding him, and sometimes napping with him, he is doing great. I love him very much, just have circumstances that break my heart, but, hopefully someone who really loves dogs anyway, if you have a way to contact some folks about "Charlie Brown" please let me know. Thanks I know you are the right person to contact.and you can lead me in the right direction.

Salisbury Fire Chief Won't Wake Up

GO HERE Chief See & Eat Your Heart Out!

As more and more proof comes in regularly where sprinkler systems continue to EXTINGUISH fires, Chief See refuses to push the envelope with the City of Salisbury. My guess, the man likes to fight fires too much and couldn't care less about Public Safety.

The rule of thumb in Salisbury is, spend more money on $10,000,000.00 Fire Stations and don't require sprinkler systems in residential homes. If they'll work in a restaurant, they'll work in a home!

Federal Cigar Excise Tax Update

A compromise bill for the State Children Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) funding was finalized late in the evening on Monday, September 24 with mixed news for the premium cigar and pipe industry. The Floor Stocks Tax provision on cigars that was originally in the legislation has been stricken. (at least some good news)

However, the tax rate was reduced by only a fraction, from 53.12% to 52.988%, and the tax cap of $3 per cigar remains.

The compromised bill now goes to both the House of Representatives and the Senate for an up-or-down vote(members of congress must vote either yes or no and no further amendments or changes may be added or made at this time).
Once the bill is most likely approved by both chambers of Congress, the legislation goes to the Whitehouse when President Bush remains adamant he will veto the legislation. Following a presidential veto, Congress will most likely approve an extension of the current of the current SCHIP program that expires September 30, relying on existing government healthcare money to fund the extension - the yet-to-be proposed extension will not rely on any tax increases. This extension will give Congress more time to create a bill that the president may be willing to sign.

"Gilchrest Misleads Voters On Illegal Immigration"

The full color franked mail Gilchrest's congressional office sent out at taxpayer expense is misleading the public on Gilchrest's record on illegal immigration. "The taxpayers are funding Gilchrest's misleading statements concerning his record on illegal immigration," said Chris Meekins, Political Director for the campaign.

The truth is Gilchrest supports AMNESTY for illegal immigrants (co-sponsor of H.R. 371, 2007). "Unlike the incumbent, I will never support any form of amnesty," Harris added.

Gilchrest's real record on illegal immigration:
H.R.1885 5/21/2001 Vote 127: Gilchrest voted to allow illegal immigrants who overstayed their visas to pay a $1,000 fine and stay in the U.S. while they completed their residency application.
H. AMDT 655 7/8/2004 Vote 341: Gilchrest voted against an amendment that would have increased funding for enforcing current federal laws against sanctuary policies for illegal aliens.
H. AMDT 745 9/9/2004 Voted 439: Gilchrest voted against the amendment that would have barred illegal immigrants working in the U.S. from receiving Social Security benefits.
H.AMDT 138 5/17/2005 Vote 177: Gilchrest voted against the amendment that would have denied federal homeland security funding to state and local governments who refuse to share information with federal immigration authorities.

Not only is Gilchrest misleading the public about his record, but he is also using taxpayer dollars to do it. "Apparently Gilchrest has so little respect for taxpayer dollars, that he votes for billions of dollars in wasteful spending and then uses taxpayer dollars to fund campaign activities," Meekins said.

"It is one thing to send a letter to a constituent who asks about a specific issue, it is a completely different thing to mislead them," said Chris Meekins, Political Director for Harris for Congress.

Using taxpayer funded franked mail for his own political benefit is nothing new for the office of Wayne Gilchrest. In the first quarter of 2007, Gilchrest's office was in the top 10% of all members of congress in his abuse of franked mail.

Big Raid In Ocean City

The DEA, I.C.E., and the INS are currently at the Japanese All You Can Eat Sushi Bar Restaurant in West Ocean City. Since I'm not loaded with Employees and don't have instant access to Ocean City, I'll just have to wait for more information.

More to come......

UPDATE: They took 5 people away in hand cuffs, and have 13 more warrants. That's what I've heard so far.

UPDATE #2: They have arrested 4 Hispanic People and 1 Asian Person. It's my understanding they built illegal housing underneath the Restaurant for illegals to live. The people arrested allegedly were in the US illegally.

Mr. Holland Is A Hero

One thing you can't tell me is that there is a more dedicated Citizen than Mr. Holland when it comes to coming to each and every Council Meeting. Mr. Trader is a very close second and the only reason I'd say Mr. Holland is slightly more dedicated is the fact that Mr. Holland is somewhat handicapped in that it is VERY difficult for the man to even walk.

All that being said, Mr. Holland is the individual that just saved ALL of the Taxpayers in the City of Salisbury a small fortune by pushing Mr. Pick into answering the question, did the City pay the $1.00 fee for the City's half of the GOB?

Yesterday was a monumental day as the pressure from Mr. Holland and then the Press calling the County Executives Office, the Finance Office and Mr. Pick's Office to confirm this issue, (since it was aired on PAC 14) in which Mr. Pick stated it had in fact been paid. This lead ALL Citizens into believing the City had in fact moved forward, when it had not.

The Tilghman Administration have been aggressively looking into purchasing their own building to house City Hall, one of them being the Allfirst Bank Building on the Plaza. I have heard through the grapevine that they have also been looking at land throughout the City, especially on the West Side.

Hopefully their quest to do so is over and allow me to explain why. I think everyone is going to very clearly see just how stupid a move it would be to relocate elsewhere.

The entire Budget to run the entire GOB is $285,000.00 per YEAR! Now, break that down to 140 people working in that building and that includes City & County Employees. So divide $285,000.00 by 140 people and you get, $2035.00 per person, per year. Now divide that by 365 days and you get $5.58 per day, per person.

I don't care what anyone tells you, you're NOT going to build a new building and have heat, air conditioning, water & sewer, maid service and general upkeep anywhere else for $5.58 per day, per person!

I would truly enjoy someone who's in the know to calculate what it would cost to buy a chunk of land, build a new building that would house the City Government and then calculate what the overall costs would be these days and see what the City might have stuck the Taxpayers with TODAY! It would be a HUGE chunk of change and I think Mr. Holland is not only an outstanding man, he's the kind of (Dirty Dozen Citizen) man the Tilghman Administration can't stand because he's all about the truth and getting to the bottom of it.

So the next time any of you see Mr. Holland, buy him a cold beer and say thank you. It will be the cheapest beer you ever bought, especially after yesterdays results!

A Sign Of The Times

Even though the Shorebirds can't afford to replace a sign similar to this one, the Wicomico County Tourism Center is sporting a brand new sign that must have cost a small fortune. Let's see, the people have already arrived, (so it's not like it's going to draw people here) and I doubt very seriously it's going to enhance additional visitors? Oh well, it sure does look good and I truly hope it pays for itself through advertising. Perhaps now other BUSINESSES along Rt. 13 can get the same kind of permits to sport their own messages to enhance business, since the visitors have already arrived? My guess is however, I doubt anyone else will be able to achieve the same permit.

Katherine leaves the Daily Times today and moves on to her Home Town Paper. Good Luck Katherine.

Pittsville Has A New Drive Thru

The gentleman living in that apartment had just gotten up out of his chair and headed for the frigs to get a beverage when the driver of this pickup truck rammed through the home directly in the area where he was seated!

I don't know how long these Idiots running this Town are going to continue allowing vehicles to race through that curve but something needs to be done. They can install a traffic light right at Main Street, (which is already a blinking light, like that does anything at all) but they're too hard headed to actually bring themselves into the year 2007!

Not long ago I brought you pictures of a vehicle that completely destroyed the Car Wash owned by the Pittsville Fire Department on this same curve. Paul Wilber is the Town Attorney for Pittsville as well and I strongly suggest they do something. Trust me, between the Town Taxes, Wicomico County taxes and the water bills in that Town, they need to reinvest back into the Town on important issues like this one.

Oh, as for my friend who owns the building, ROTFLMAO!

Public Forum Tonight

Wicomico County Councilwoman Sheree Sample-Hughes will be Hosting a Public Forum Meeting that will be held at 7:00 PM this evening at the American Legion Post 269 in San Domingo.

Mrs. Comegys Seems To Have Started A Trend

When you want attention or you want to speak, DON'T act like Arnold Horshack, (Welcome Back Kotter) and say, OOOOOH, OOOOOH, OOOOOH, Pick Me, Pick Me! Instead, raise your pen and wave in front of everyone so everyone knows you have something important to lie about.

Man Stabbed 10 Times In West Salisbury

A man was stabbed this evening in West Salisbury 9 times in the back and 1 time in the head. He is currently in surgery. The Maryland State Police & Wicomico County Sheriffs Department did catch and arrested the man who did the stabbing on Jersey Road 30 minutes ago. He was driving a white Chevy Lumina. More to come.....

This area is the Hebron Fire Department's territory but the City is fighting them tooth and nail to gain that territory, (near Westwood, Rt. 50 & the Bypass) into the Salisbury territory. That's a whole different story and Post all together.

Red Net Alert!!!!

The City of Salisbury just left the County Executive's Office and paid the $1.00 for their share of the GOB!!!!!

Mr. John Pick also just called me as I was typing this and wanted me to know they had just paid the dollar.

It's amazing what one little Blog can do! Have a great evening everyone and congratulations, the City now finally owns 1/2 of a building that was paid for some 20 years ago.

Mr. John Pick Didn't Tell The Truth Monday Night

On Monday evening, Mr. Holland, (a taxpayer and resident of the City of Salisbury) asked Mr. John Pick if the City had in fact paid the $1.00 to the County for 1/2 of the GOB, (Government Office Building)?

Mr. Pick responded, (more or less) I don't think I understand your question correctly? Mr. Holland went on to explain in better detail, yet everyone in the room knew exactly what Mr. Holland was asking, so the red flag was already up as soon as Mr. Pick stated he didn't understand.

Nevertheless, once Mr. Pick was more clear about the question he answered it by saying YES, the City had paid the $1.00 for their 1/2 of the building. Well, NO, the City has NOT done so and I confirmed this today.

I have been making rounds of calls today trying to get answers and I have in fact confirmed the City has not paid for their share of the agreement. Mr. Pick flat out did not tell the truth.

So what does this mean to you as a taxpayer? Well, if you hadn't noticed, the Daily Times has been playing partner with the City/Mayor by putting up Editorial suggestions on this matter and poll questions and even their Hey You section of their on line version asking citizens if they would like to see a new GOB for the City of Salisbury alone?

I have personally found this to be a very slick move as the Mayor wants to encourage seeing the taxpayers pay out millions of additional dollars for a new building and NOT pay the $1.00 for their 1/2 of the current building.

Mr. Comegys told me one evening that he would rather see a new building go up because the one they're in is getting OLD. Granted, there would be upkeep on that building but I can assure you of one thing, that building is a VERY sound building. Secondly, YOU paid for it! That's right, the taxpayers in the City of Salisbury as well as the County paid for it, so why walk away from millions of dollars worth of equity? It makes no sense at all!

So it is extremely important that the taxpayers push this Mayor into finalizing that agreement and guess what? In the very least they could always SELL their share of 1/2 of that building to the County, unless I'm wrong? However, I doubt that I am. There is literally millions of dollars in equity in this building in which the taxpayers have already paid for.

Mr. Holland, I know you read this Blog every day. You were right in asking that question and you were NOT told the truth. The City has NOT paid $1.00 for their share of that building and the citizens of Salisbury need to put their foot down and stop these lies! It makes me sick whenever I think back to Louise Smith running on ACCOUNTABILITY! There is no accountability in the City of Salisbury and I just wonder how long everyone is going to continue taking this crap from certain parties?

I am reviewing additional contracts on the agreement between the City & the County and when I'm finished I will bring up another Post on this matter.

Will They Be Converting This Building To A Quickie Mart Too?

This building is located between Naylor Mill Road and the Bypass on Jersey Road.

Does This Make Any Sense To You Whatsoever?

As I was sitting at the traffic light near the State Police on north Rt. 13, (heading south bound) I couldn't help but notice for the very first time the sign on the left stating 50 MPH! Perhaps I never noticed it because I WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO STAY ALIVE in that area because of all the nuts on the road?

All I can tell you is, that's CRAZY! Who in their right mind allows that area to be 50 MPH while every other minor Town along Rt. 13 has 35 MPH signs where it gets busy, (if you even want to call it that)? I'd prefer to call them speed traps, wouldn't you? However, at least it would be justifiable to slow down to 35 in this area, wouldn't you agree?

Why I Love The Blogs So Much & What I Do

It must really drive all other Reporters NUTS watching sbynews.com grow and let me explain why.

Last night was a perfect example as well as Monday night too. As I arrived to each event before The Daily Times did, I quickly realized that both these meetings just weren't my style so I snapped off some pictures, waved hello to a few people and I was outta there!

However, the Daily Times Reporters don't have that same luxury. These are paid yes men/women who must attend these events in their entirety, unless they have to leave to meet their deadline.

Nevertheless, you have to feel for these people who run here and there to some of the most ridiculous interviews and events in order to fill the slots in their programs. BUMMER!

With a Blog Site, I can come and go whenever I like and I can also pick and choose what I want to cover. Another thing those Reporters can't do is share their opinion! That makes a huge difference between reporting and blogging and that too must drive them nuts. As talented as some of these Reporters are, can you just imagine what's going through their mind when they know someone is lying, cheating or simply flat out wrong? It sounds just like being a lawyer, doesn't it?

Well at least now you'll always know what the difference is between the MSM and the Blogs. Oh, and you'll never see the Daily Times call someone an Idiot either! Why, because they can't. Some freedom of speech, eh? LOL

The Wicomico County Neighborhood Congress Kicked Off Last Night

A decent crowd showed up last night at SU for the very first Neighborhood Congress Meeting. Sorry Folks but it was a lot of pats on the back, thank yous and far too much for me to digest. Although I enjoy many people seen in these photos, I don't like them so much that I'd stick around and hear everything they had to say. Spending time with my Grandson was too important.

Nevertheless, I'll hope some of those visiting can fill everyone in on what took place and where things are headed?

Are You Having Trouble With This Blog Site?

I have received a few e-mail messages telling me they can't see the Posts all that well. We tried something different as I asked someone to try opening it up in Internet Explorer instead. IT WORKED! So if you're having trouble, try Explorer.

Maryland Laws?????????

I'll bet you good money there are laws and fines against defacing a Maryland License Plate, yet there are none against a Mother allegedly killing her own children prematurely! Perhaps people should think a bit harder about Gilchrest and others already in Office yet stupid enough to let something like this pass.

Right now the State of Maryland is looking like crap throughout the Nation and even the World. Perhaps Donald Schaeffer was right about the Eastern Shore? I personally think Joel Todd made a stupid move by not at least challenging Ms. Freeman. I mean, in the very least he could have charged her for the cocaine usage being a part of the 4 babies deaths? Again, I'm no lawyer but IMO dropping the ball like he did, well, Davis Ruark would have taken on the challenge and made something of it. Perhaps Mr. Todd has too much on his plate, like more important cases?

Scissors

If you know someone with small children, or you are a teacher...you will love this!

School is starting again.

Those OH SO special fridge art collections will start showing up and be proudly displayed on refrigerator doors acrossed America.

This is a kindergartener's artistic rendering of a pair of scissors.

Wonder what the teacher thought when it was presented in class?

I first viewed it during a parent teacher conference.

I allowed myself just a small smirk when I saw it.

I waited until the room was empty before I started crying from laughing so hard.

Well, of course they're scissors!!!!

I can certainly imagine seeing this one proudly displayed on the mother's fridge at home.

SalisburyFire Blasts Me Again

SalisburyFire Said.....

"Isn't that the truth richard head. He's had a hard on for the department since he got blasted on for the story about us buying $53,000 worth of new gear. Just as your post says YOUR NO FIREFIGHTER. So how about you report incidents for us like you do for the county mounties. Oh, my fault, that would be too easy. You know nothing of what we do and why we do it. So leave the firefighting to us, the PROFESSIONALS and we'll leave the blogging to you, the easily amused.

Oh, I say now, as I believe you say it best: "I have my sources". Go ahead and spend the $4.00 to get an "official" copy of that report. But we won't hear about it when you do, because the report will show that you are nothing but an attention wh*re, who knows nothing of what he speaks. My grandfather has a saying for people like you, "Believe half of what you hear and a quarter of what you see". Damn Joe I think that should be the banner on your site. Get a life, a clue or at least some different spank material and leave the fire/ems service out of your wet dreams."

It seems ever since I challenged his having the report from the accident in Hebron he's gone way over the top with anger? I continue to hope we can ALL keep things clean but thanks for letting everyone else know that you represent the Fire Department and just how aggressive you'll act. It gives everyone else a different angle as to who's the aggressive one.

No Daily Times Today!

Did everyone else get their Daily Times Delivered today? We went out to get ours and there was nothing there.

I Don't Care What They Say, This Was Not Caused At 35 mph!

Although someone commented yesterday saying they had seen the report from the State Police on this accident in Hebron, I went to the State Police yesterday and made the attempt to get the documents. I was told the report was just about finished but someone needed to sign off on it before "anyone" can see it.

There have been comments that IF the Fire Fighter had been in excess of the speed limit he would be found at fault. The speed limit in this area is 30 or 35 mph! The woman driving south bound allegedly turning left and then correcting her turn at the last second in the hopes of getting out of the way turned back into her lane in the hopes the Fire Vehicle would stay in his lane and go around. That didn't happen but I can assure you, she wasn't going 30 or 35 mph at the time of the collision and she may have even been at a complete stop when the two hit.

That being said, you don't get this kind of damage at 35 mph! You don't flip end over end at 35 mph. That is MY OPINION anyway. This Post is to show the damage and let the people decide what to believe when the full report does in fact come out. In the mean time, please don't say you have the report, when you don't. I can't wait to see this report.

The Amish VS. The Portuguese

When it comes to a quality stick built building, you can't beat the Amish. Well, perhaps you can beat their price if you're contracting out illegals, paying them below minimum wage? In the end you get what you pay for though and I'd personally stick with the Amish. Truss me on that one, LOL.

Reporters Leaving Delmarva

Katherine Crowell from the Daily Times will be leaving Thursday, (tomorrow) and heading back to her Home Town where she'll joing another paper owned by Gannett.

The biggest shocker is Mr. Kenny Beck. That's right, you heard it here first Ladies & Gentlemen. Kenny Beck will be leaving mid October and heading south for a short while, ultimately ending up with WBAL in Baltimore.

The Hearst/Argyle Family who owns WBAL wanted their hands on this talent and the Eastern Shore will lose, (IMO) our #1 News Anchor. Everyone knows I've been saying it for years, this guy is too talented and is going to get snatched up by a big network station and I was right.

Kenny was the only Investigative Reporter on the entire Eastern Shore and his follow through and style for detail is what made his stories strong and factual.

Good Luck to both of you and hey, don't forget us little people?

The Volvo C70

Talk about sporting around in style! Barrie & Matt Tilghman were seen recently cruising the streets in Barrie's new C70 Volvo Convertible. Being Mayor sure has been good to you, eh Barrie? What's next, a limo?

Fellowship In Delmar

Last weekend groups gathered at the State Street Park for what was called, Praise in the Park. The Fab Four Band played while people gathered and I had to wonder, Fab Four? I counted seven on the stage? Oh well, even the Jackson Family started out as just the Jacksons. I was invited to attend, I was even reminded, so I went. I enjoyed the music, the people and the break. That being said, see ya next year Folks.
