Michelle Obama Celebrates Ramadan, Breaks Fast with Iftar Dinner

As part of her summer trip overseas to Morocco, First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated Ramadan byjoining the royal family for an Iftar dinner at the palace in Marrakesh.

She was joined by her daughters Sasha and Malia as well as actress Meryl Streep. The Iftar dinner is a traditional Muslim feast celebrating the end of the Ramadan daily fast.

The members of the First Family were likely familiar with the tradition, as President Barack Obama has hosted an annual Iftar dinner at the White House during his presidency.

New Jersey Man Pleads Guilty to Helping Disguise Foreign Contributions during 2012 Presidential Election

A Paramus, New Jersey, man pleaded guilty today to helping to funnel $80,000 in campaign contributions from a foreign source to the joint fundraising committee of the President of the United States during the 2012 presidential election, announced Assistant Attorney General Leslie R. Caldwell of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman of the District of New Jersey.

Bilal Shehu, 48, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo of the District of New Jersey to an information charging him with knowingly and willfully making foreign contributions and donations in connection with the 2012 presidential election and to a fundraising and political campaign committee of the president, aggregating $25,000 or more during a calendar year. Sentencing has been scheduled for Oct. 5, 2016.

Pursuant to his plea agreement, Shehu, a U.S. citizen living in New Jersey, admitted that in September 2012, he received approximately $80,000 from a foreign source and provided it to a joint fundraising committee—including the authorized campaign committee of the president—in an effort to disguise the true origin of the money and so that a foreign national could attend a campaign event on Oct. 8, 2012, in San Francisco. Federal law prohibits foreign nationals from making contributions to federal candidates or fundraising committees. In late September 2012, Shehu received an $80,000 wire transfer into his New Jersey-based bank account from a foreign bank account, knowing that he was to provide it to the joint fundraising committee, he admitted. Shehu admitted that in early October 2012, he flew to San Francisco and attempted to gain entry into the San Francisco fundraising event with the foreign national, who was denied entry but was allowed to be photographed with the president.

Hillary Clinton: Drive Less, Reduce Personal Use of Electricity

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged voters to look at their personal habits in order to stop climate change, calling it one of the world’s biggest problems that the next president would have to face.

“On an individual level, you know there are a lot of things that if more people did it, you would see results,” she said.

Clinton shared her thoughts on global warming during a town hall with YouTube creators in Los Angeles, California.

Hillary Emails Betrayed Whereabouts of Murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens

An email containing the whereabouts and plans of murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens passed through Hillary Clinton’s private server, dispatches released Monday in the final group of messages from Clinton’s emails reveal.

The email was actually first released last May but was contained in Monday’s batch as well, serving as a reminder that numerous emails sent to Clinton’s private address betrayed Stevens’ location while he was stationed in arguably one of the most dangerous zones in the world for an American diplomat.

The email in question was written Sunday, April 10, 2011 by State employee Timmy Davis and sent to the State email addresses of other employees, including Clinton’s then-foreign policy aide, Jacob Sullivan and Clinton’s senior aide.

‘Move On’ From Benghazi? Republicans Say It’s Unlikely

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton says it’s “time to move on” after a congressional report on the deadly 2012 Benghazi attacks accused the Obama administration of lethal mistakes, but produced no new evidence pointing to wrongdoing by the former secretary of state.

Not likely, especially in an election year with Clinton’s presidential rival — Donald Trump — lashing out.

An 800-page report by a special House committee makes no direct accusations of wrongdoing by Clinton, who was secretary of state during the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Still, Republicans point to Benghazi as a major failure by the administration and by Clinton during her tenure leading the State Department. The issue is likely to shadow Clinton as she continues her bid for president.

Rush: 'Wizards of Smart' All Wrong on Financial Fallout From Brexit

The "wizards of smart" on the left and among elites in the establishment and mainstream media got it wrong in predicting permanent doom-and-gloom for the global financial markets in the aftermath of Britain's vote to leave the European Union, Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday.

In his daily radio show, Limbaugh mocked the pundits' depressing long-term view of the historic vote.

"The stock market came back, futures are up 100 points, [the] sky isn't falling," he said, adding, the "wizards of smart said that the world's financial markets were gonna go to hell all because of the Brexit vote."

"Everything happens predictably – except when the doom and gloom sets in, they want you to believe it's permanent and it's all over," Limbaugh said. "And, sadly, it works. It creates cumulatively this overwhelming attitude of doom and gloom that the establishment and the left predicts and creates every time they don't get their way."

Limbaugh decried that "nobody stops to explain to people that panic is the order of the day in each and every day."

"It's generally ginned up, and it's all part of the daily soap opera script that's written by the establishment to keep everybody unsettled and off guard," he said.

Colt Born Monday On Assateague Island; Fourth Foal of 2016 ‘Expected Soon’

BERLIN – The herd of wild horses at Assateague Island grew by one this week when the third foal expected this year was born.

The mare Gokey Go Bones (identified as N2BHS-A) gave birth to a pinto colt Monday. The foal was born out on the marsh near the curves on Bayberry Drive at Assateague Island National Seashore.

Officials from Assateague Island Alliance (AIA), the friends group that supports the national park, says one more foal is expected in the near future.

“Charmed is still pregnant and a fourth foal is expected soon,” said Ashlie Kozlowski, AIA Outreach Coordinator. “She is in the back country and not encountered as often as the horses in the developed zone so it can be any day now.”

Multiculturalism: A Failed Concept

German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that multiculturalism has “utterly failed,” adding that it was an illusion to think Germans and foreign workers could “live happily side by side.” The failure of multiculturalism is also seen in Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and other European countries. Immigrants coming from Africa and the Middle East refuse to assimilate and instead seek to import the failed cultures they fled.

Leftist diversity advocates and multi-culturalists are right to argue that people of all races, religions and cultures should be equal in the eyes of the law. But their argument borders on idiocy when they argue that one set of cultural values cannot be judged superior to another and that to do so is Euro-centrism.

That’s unbridled nonsense. Ask a diversity/multiculturalism advocate: Is forcible female genital mutilation, as practiced in nearly 30 sub-Saharan African and Middle Eastern countries, a morally equivalent cultural value? Slavery is practiced in northern Sudan. In most of the Middle East, there are numerous limits placed on women, such as prohibitions on driving, employment and education. Under Islamic law, in some countries, female adulterers face death by stoning, and thieves are punished by having their hand severed. In some African and Middle Eastern countries, homosexuality is a crime, in some cases punishable by death. Are all these cultural values morally equivalent to those of the West?

The vital achievement of the West was the concept of individual rights, which saw its birth with the Magna Carta in 1215. The idea emerged that individuals have certain inalienable rights. Individuals do not exist to serve government; governments exist to protect their rights. But it was not until the 19th century that ideas of liberty received broad recognition. In the West, it was mostly through the works of British philosophers, such as John Locke, David Hume, Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill.

Personal liberty implies toleration of differences among people, whether those differences are racial, sexual, ideological or political. Liberty also implies a willingness to permit others who disagree with you to go their separate ways.

Black Pastor: Obama ‘Deceived America,’ Hurt ‘the American Family’

(CNSNews.com) - Speaking at the March for Marriage rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Rev. Bill Owens, president of the Coalition of African American Pastors, said President Obama “deceived America” on the gay marriage issue and hurt America and “the American family.”

“When President Obama was running for president, I had some friends in the gay community who informed me that he was going to say that he was for marriage between a man and a woman in his first term to get elected but he would take the issue up in his second term, and that’s what he did. So first of all, he deceived America,” Owens said.

“And you must fear no man. I fear no man. I got a lot of criticism, a lot of hate mail for opposing Obama. Obama is a black American, but his father is an African, and I think he thinks he can be a king like they have in Africa, but America don’t have kings,” said Owens. “We have a president, and I stand against Mr. Obama very much today. He’s on the wrong track, and he has hurt America and the American family.”

Owens also criticized Obama over transgender bathroom policies..

“Only a sick man - I mean sick in his mind - would promote a program that men can go in women’s restrooms. Only a sick man would promote that,” he said.

Fox targeted by FEC Dems in first-ever vote to punish debate sponsorship

Finally making good on long-harbored anger at conservative media, Democrats on the Federal Election Commission voted in secret to punish Fox News' sponsorship of a Republican presidential debate, using an obscure law to charge the network with helping those on stage.

It is the first time in history that members of the FEC voted to punish a media outlet's debate sponsorship, and it follows several years of Democratic threats against conservative media and websites like the Drudge Report.

The punishment, however, was blocked by all three Republicans on the commission, resulting in a 3-3 tie vote and no action.

A Republican FEC commissioner leading that fight, Lee E. Goodman, revealed the vote to Secrets Wednesday and said the official report of the May 26 executive vote will be released Thursday.

Donald Trump and the Resurrection of the American Cowboy

2016 might go down in history as the year we realized we were living in a global Wild West – an unforgiving environment where anarchy reigns in many territories, where laws and rules are flaunted by elites, and where danger is constantly lurking on the home front. But we’re at a disadvantage to those intrepid settlers who conquered the Old West in the 19th century. They had something we don’t: they had the cowboy.

There’s a reason cowboys were, for many years, a classic American symbol. They exemplified the best of American ideals: tough, solid, fearless and fair, they helped tame the wild country and make room for an expanding nation. They believed in law and order even out on the frontiers of civilization, and to preserve it, they fought when they had to. Above all, they showed what it meant to be a man.

Cowboys exemplified stoicism, courage, assertiveness, and aggression when the times called for it. Put together, those qualities are summoned up by a single word: “manliness.” Has America produced anyone better at exemplifying manliness than John Wayne, especially in his western roles? Whether he’s doggedly pursuing his niece’s captors in “The Searchers” or mounting a one-man charge against Robert Duvall’s gang of outlaws in “True Grit”, he showed a whole generation of young Americans what it meant to be tough, honest, and true.

Close behind John Wayne is Theodore Roosevelt – who in his day reminded Americans that you didn’t have to be born tough and burly to make yourself into a man. Teddy Roosevelt grew up in a life of wealth and privilege and was often sick as a child. Unsatisfied with his early political career in New York, he struck out for the west and lived among the cowboys. On those plains and around those campfires, he became a man. Some made fun of his spectacles, calling him “four eyes” – and he learned to fight back when he needed to. He tried to replicate that frontier fighting spirit when he recruited cowboys into his Rough Rider cavalry regiment – the same spirit he called upon when he charged up San Juan Hill.

Where is the manly spirit of the American West and San Juan Hill today? On life support, thanks to an endless campaign of feminization led by the political left and fueled by pop culture. “Manliness” is quickly becoming a foreign concept in America.

McAuliffe: Supreme Court Can’t Stop Restoration of Felon’s Voting Rights

McAuliffe pledges to issue 206,000 felons right to vote individually if he has to Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D., Va.) does not care whether or not the Virginia Supreme Court reverses his executive order that restored voting rights for 206,000 felons because he plans to circumvent the judicial branch if he has to.

The court granted a request made by Republicans to expedite their lawsuit against McAuliffe, which argues that the governor did not have the right to restore rights to the large group in a single executive order. Rights were previously restored in a case-by-case manner, after felons individually petitioned the state and penned a letter to the governor explaining why they deserved to not only have the right to vote, but also have rights such as the ability to serve on a jury or run for office.

McAuliffe said during a Wednesday morning interview with WTOP that it does not matter what the court’s ruling is.

“Lets assume hypothetically that the state Supreme Court knocks it down,” said McAuliffe. “The next day I will sit at my desk—probably with the assistance of my autopen—and I will sign 206,000 orders.”

“They will have their rights back that day,” he said. “This is much ado about nothing.”

Judicial Watch Uncovers Smoking Gun Clinton Emails

Last week, we learned more about the problems former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s staff faced in keeping her private email system running. They were, in fact, wrestling with matters of national security.

The revelations came thanks to our prying loose the email records referred to in the May 2016 State Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) report criticizing former Secretary of State Clinton’s email practices.

The OIG report makes reference to the emails, but they were not released to the public until now. We obtained them under a June 14, 2016, court order issued by U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan in accordance with an unopposed motion by Judicial Watch to obtain the records. As an explosive Associated Press article makes clear, these new emails raise more questions:

Former Secretary Hillary Clinton failed to turn over a copy of a key message involving problems caused by her use of a private homebrew email server, the State Department confirmed Thursday. The disclosure makes it unclear what other work-related emails may have been deleted by the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Maryland Prepares for Increase in Drunk Driving This Holiday Weekend

Elite SPIDRE Team Ready to Catch Impaired Drivers

Drivers Urged to Always Plan a Sober Ride Home

Jessup, MD — This Fourth of July holiday weekend may be one of the deadliest on our nation’s roadways according to a recent forecast from the National Safety Council. And because this year’s holiday arrives at the end of a long weekend, Maryland officials are preparing for a possible increase in impaired driving compared to previous years. To combat this increase and save lives, Maryland Department of Transportation officials today joined with the Maryland State Police (MSP) to highlight their successful partnership to target drunk and drugged drivers through a law enforcement initiative known as the State PoliceImpaired DRiving Effort, or SPIDRE. This elite MSP team uses crash data to target and remove impaired drivers from Maryland roadways.

“The safety and security of Marylanders is my number-one priority and as family and friends gather to celebrate this 4th of July, I strongly encourage everyone to make a plan to have a sober ride home,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “Since taking office, my administration has introduced measures to enhance public safety and make our highways safer and we will use all available resources to catch and arrest drunk drivers and, above all, save lives.”

Over the past five years, impaired drivers have accounted for roughly one third of all roadway deaths in Maryland. On average, there are 7,884 impaired driving crashes statewide, resulting in 4,026 injuries and 171 fatalities every year.

“The Fourth of July arriving at the end of a long weekend is a recipe for disaster on our roadways,” said Transportation Deputy Secretary Jim Ports. “Impaired driving continues to be one of the most common causes of roadway fatalities in Maryland, and every single one of those deaths was preventable. We are committed to lowering the number of traffic fatalities in Maryland and we need residents to do their part and never drive impaired.”

New Maryland laws to take effect Friday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Maryland's minimum wage and the state's gas tax are going up. Here's a look at some new laws that take effect Friday:

MINIMUM WAGE
Maryland's minimum wage will rise from $8.25 to $8.75. It's the latest bump scheduled to take effect since lawmakers in 2014 approved increases over several years from $7.25. It is scheduled to go up to $9.25 next year and reach $10.10 in July 2018.

GAS TAX
The state's gas tax will rise nine-tenths of a cent to 33.5 cents. Lawmakers approved several increases in 2013, with regular hikes to adjust for inflation. The state's gas tax has gone up a dime since 2013, when lawmakers approved the first increase in 20 years from 23.5 cents.

RETIREMENT PLANS
A state-sponsored retirement savings plan goes into effect. IRAs will be created for private-sector employees without access to a workplace savings program with their employer. Employees would need to make the contributions and can opt out of the program. The law applies to employers using an automated payroll system who don't already offer a retirement program.

Border Patrol Agent: Many Illegals Have Tuberculosis, Other Diseases

The Border Patrol encounters illegal immigrants carrying infectious diseases on a regular basis along the Texas border, according to an officer interviewed by InfoWars.

"We see tuberculosis pretty regularly," border agent Chris Cabrera told the site.

Scabies is also common, the officer said, but the skin disease is not visible when it's infectious. "So these people clear through our system and then they go into the rest of the country with that disease."

Cabrera, who is also the vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, said the agents also see measles, chickenpox, lung infections and some illnesses they can't identify. "We have no idea what they are."

In 2014, according to the agent, areas with sick illegal immigrants were cordoned off with yellow caution tape. Today, no quarantine facility or treatment for the diseases exists.

Report Says Chinese Cyber Attacks ‘Ongoing’

Chinese cyber attacks against American firms are “ongoing” and the use of covert cyber tools and methods by Beijing hackers led to a statistical decline in cyber activities, according to an internal State Department security report.

The report by the State Department-led Overseas Security Advisory Council, or OSAC, a public-private partnership, challenges the findings of a recent study by the private cyber security firm FireEye that says the decline in the number of Chinese-origin cyber attacks indicated China has cut back from large-scale cyber attacks.

“While media reporting has emphasized this alleged decrease in malicious activity, cases of Chinese espionage campaigns against the U.S. private sector are ongoing,” the report said, adding that “OSAC constituents should remain aware that China is still considered a highly capable and motivated cyber threat actor.”

The three-page report highlighting ongoing Chinese cyber threats is a setback for White House efforts to portray President Obama’s September 2015 deal with China to curb cyber economic espionage as a diplomatic breakthrough.

Since the deal, various private security firms offered differing assessments of whether China is curtailing large-scale cyber attacks, the report said.

The report notes that Chinese cyber attacks in 2015 were particularly damaging. “At a higher level, paramount attacks against various U.S. organizations continued in 2015 and Chinese hackers exceeded other nation-state actors for consistency, volume, and severity of cyber attacks during the past year,” the report, dated June 27, says.

“This included intrusions into healthcare systems Anthem and Premera, and the Office of Personnel Management, collectively compromising the sensitive data of over 100 million U.S. citizens.”

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed a formal complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics Monday charging that Democratic lawmakers violated the chamber’s ethics rules by fundraising off of official actions and using the House floor for political purposes.

The group noted fundraising emails from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee signed by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that solicited campaign donations during the nearly 26-hour sit-in.

Law Enforcement Sources: Gun Used in Paris Terrorist Attacks Came from Phoenix

One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

UPDATE: ‘Misidentification’ at Joint Base Andrews drill led to active-shooter response

Joint Base Andrews says a “misidentification” of security forces carrying out a routine inspection of the base may have set off false alarms of an active shooter.
“Fortunately, this was not a life-threatening situation,” said Col. Brad Hoagland, 11th Wing and Joint Base Andrews commander, said in statements released to JBA’s Twitter page. “We take all threats seriously and reacted to ensure the security of those on the base.”
There was a misidentification of the security forces emergency services team who were conducting a routine inspection of the facility

Joint Base Andrews gave an “all clear” notice after having been on lockdown since around 9 a.m. following reports of an active shooter.

Phelps locks up trip to 5th Olympics; Franklin going too

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Michael Phelps is heading back to the Olympics.

So is Missy Franklin.

Phelps, the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, held off a stiff challenge from Tom Shields to win the 200-meter butterfly at the U.S. swimming trials Wednesday night. Phelps whipped around to look at his time — a bit slower than he probably would’ve liked — and held up all five fingers on his right hand.

Yep, it’s Olympics No. 5, making him the first male swimmer to compete in that many Summer Games.

“I think that means the most tonight,” Phelps said, pausing to compose himself. “Just being able to finish how I want to is so important to me. Getting on this team is what I wanted to do.”

Franklin, meanwhile, turned in one of the gutsiest performances of her career to earn a spot for Rio in the 200 freestyle. One night after she struggled to seventh in the 100 backstroke — an event she won four years ago in London — there was plenty of speculation that she’d be hard-pressed to qualify for any individual events at these games.

Why Did Bill Clinton And Loretta Lynch Meet On Her Airplane In Phoenix?

Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with former President Bill Clinton for a half-hour on her government airplane at the Phoenix airport on Tuesday, an Arizona news station is reporting.

The unannounced meeting, which comes as Lynch’s Justice Department is investigating the handling of classified information on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, came to light only when Phoenix’s ABC15 TV station asked Lynch about it during a press conference.

The Obama appointee told the TV station that she and Clinton did not discuss the investigation or any other government business. Instead, she says they talked about Clinton’s grandchildren and golf.

“I did see President Clinton at the Phoenix airport,” she told ABC15.

“As I was leaving and he spoke to myself and my husband on the plane. Our conversation was a great deal about his grandchildren. It was primarily social and about our travels. He mentioned the golf he played in Phoenix.”

Brits Oppose 2nd EU Referendum By Two To One

The British public oppose holding a second referendum on EU membership by a margin of almost two to one.

A YouGov poll published today shows that less than a third of the public, 31 per cent, believe the referendum should be re-run. By contrast, 58 per cent say it should not, while 11 per cent do not know.

This includes 91 per cent of ‘Leave’ voters who do not want a second vote, and also 29 per cent of ‘Remain’ voters.

Even if Scotland threatened to break away from the United Kingdom, 51 per cent would still oppose a second vote. Only three in 10 would support it.

There is also no appetite for holding a referendum once the terms of Britain’s withdrawal have been decided, with just 33 per cent calling for a vote in such a circumstance, compared to 51 per cent who would oppose it.

Since the referendum, various media outlets have been pushing the narrative of “Bregret” – ‘Leave’ supporters supposedly changing their minds and expression their regret for voting as they did.

However, the poll shows there is little evidence that this is widespread, with just six per cent of people who voted ‘Leave’ wanting a second referendum.

The Benghazi Committee's Five Massive Media Mistakes

The report of the House Select Committee on Benghazi was released Tuesday, and landed with a thud — despite being full of revelations indicating President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton failed in their most basic duties.

Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) tried his best, given the obstruction of the White House, and the media’s obsequious efforts to protect Clinton. But he also hurt himself by making several unnecessary errors in handling the media aspect of the inquiry.

1. Failing to make Clinton take the oath in public. Gowdy and the committee agreed to let Hillary Clinton swear-in behind closed doors, sparing her a potentially embarrassing spectacle. Gowdy’s intentions were, no doubt, good, and he wanted to protect the committee from accusations that it was being used for partisan purposes. But by making special arrangements for Clinton, the committee also allowed the media to avoid acknowledging that she was, in fact, accountable for her (in)actions.

Trump vows to cancel Asia trade deal as president — and puts NAFTA on notice

Donald Trump vowed Tuesday that if elected president he would cancel a pending trade deal with Pacific Rim countries and demand Mexico and Canada accept sweeping changes to NAFTA — or else he will nix that one, too.

It was part of an anti-globalization agenda that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee offered to revitalize U.S. manufacturing and bring back jobs, as he upended the free trade consensus that has dominated American policy under Republican and Democratic presidents. In a Tuesday evening speech in Ohio, he even called an impending free trade deal a “rape” of the U.S.

Speaking in Pennsylvania, where he hopes his populist economic message resonates, the billionaire businessman said globalization had failed American workers. He pinned many of the country’s woes on deals struck by President Bill Clinton, whose wife, Hillary Clinton, is the likely Democratic nominee.

“This is not some natural disaster. It is politician-made disaster,” Mr. Trump said of a decline in manufacturing over decades. “It is the consequence of a leadership class that worships globalism over Americanism.”

Government Loan Derived From Casino Revenue To Help Ocean City Brewer Expand Brand

OCEAN CITY – The popular Hoop Tea brand will expand thanks to a $250,000 VOLT loan.

State and local officials presented a check for $250,000 to Danny Robinson of Backshore Brewing to aid in the expanded distribution of Hoop Tea. The alcoholic drink, “summer in a jar” as Robinson calls it, will make its way to neighboring states now that the company has the money to expand the product line.

“These VOLT loans are critically important to support small business,” Senator Jim Mathias said as he helped present the check.

VOLT loans, made possible by the revenue generated by the video lottery terminals at Maryland casinos, are offered to small, minority- and women-owned businesses as low interest loans. To qualify, companies must employ fewer than 500 people and have annual revenues that average $35 million or less over three years. Past recipients have included Smart Graphics Design in Pocomoke and Plak That in West Ocean City.

Warren’s Top Donors Include Individuals From Firms That Represent Corporations

Received hundreds of thousands of dollars from individuals in securities and investments; Wall Street lawyers

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from the securities and investment sector.

Individuals working at law firms that represent major corporations and the Wall Street interests Warren condemns are also among her top financial backers.

Warren has long positioned herself as a blue-collar champion who takes on corporations and Wall Street interests, leading some to question how she can back Hillary Clinton. Clinton has collected $32 million from the securities and investment industry this election cycle, the most of any industry, on top of the $15 million the industry gave to her campaign for U.S. senator and the millions the Clintons have pocketed from their six-figure speeches to Wall Street.

Warren isn’t free from the industry either. Since she ran for Congress in 2011, she has collected more than $630,000 from individuals in the securities and investment industry, making it the sixth highest industry in political donations to her campaigns.

Warren also has received major backing from lawyers and law firms that represent Wall Street interests. $2.3 million in contributions have poured from the sector to her campaign’s coffers, the second most of any industry only behind those who are retired.

Bethany Beach, DE - The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has been requested by Bethany Beach Police Department to investigate a hit and run crash seriously injuring a bicyclist.

‘People Not Able to Act According to Their Religious Beliefs’

(CNSNews.com) – Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who heads the Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services, said he believes some of the detrimental effects of the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, which legalized homosexual marriage, include “people not being able to act according to their fundamental religious beliefs.”

Broglio spoke at the National Organization for Marriage’s (NOM) fourth annual March for Marriage on Sept. 25 against same-sex marriage.

“I think some of the detrimental effects include people not being able to act according to their fundamental religious beliefs,” he told CNSNews.com in an interview prior to the march on Saturday.

“I think there’s a certain pressure on those who uphold marriage as being between a man and a woman, they’re being pressured to change that belief,” said the archbishop. “Certainly people who work in areas, in service industries, are being also forced to compromise their religious beliefs, all of which at least, in my humble estimation, go against the First Amendment.”

The Clinton Foundation is a 'conspiracy' that Hillary and Bill use as a 'piggy bank'

The Clinton Foundation is 'a vast, criminal conspiracy' and 'a slush fund for grifters' with thousands of honest people who are victims after contributing their hard-earned money to what they believed would be used for philanthropic causes.

In truth, the money that was donated to help earthquake victims in India and Haiti and HIV/AIDs sufferers in the Third World has mostly enriched the Clintons and their friends through scams spanning the globe, claims author Jerome Corsi in his book, Partners in Crime: The Clintons' Scheme to Monetize the White House for Personal Profit, which will be published in August.

Driven by insatiable greed while crying they were near-broke, the couple schemed and Hillary used her position as secretary of state to leverage lucrative deals for the Foundation as well as six-figure speaking fees for Bill Clinton.

The scheme engineered through the Foundation has enriched the Clintons by hundreds of millions of dollars as well as adding $2billion to the Clinton Foundation and raising $1billion for Hillary's second run for the presidency, writes Corsi in his upcoming book.

Police Called on ‘Racist’ Third-grader

A New Jersey elementary school called the police after a third-grade student made a comment about the brownies being served in class and another student called the remark “racist.”

A police officer from the Collingswood Police Department showed up at William P. Tatem Elementary School to question the boy, who is 9.

The boy’s mother, Stacy dos Santos, said the school’s response was a complete overreaction.

“He said they were talking about brownies. … Who exactly did he offend?” she told philly.com.

Police later contacted the boy’s father and referred the incident to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

Trump's Economic Nationalism Exposes Hillary’s Achilles Heel

Quoting Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump became the first major party candidate in decades to embrace economic nationalism. Trump, in a policy speech delivered in the key swing state of Pennsylvania, proclaimed “it’s time to declare our economic independence once again.”

At the center of Trump’s speech was his opposition to the North American Trade Agreement, the Trans Pacific Partnership, as well as a willingness to use tariffs to punish trade cheaters. And it is not surprising that the speech was delivered in Pennsylvania, where the steel industry – devastated by unfettered free trade – continues to hemorrhage.

Governor Larry Hogan and Governor Jack Markell Unite to Prevent Unfair Electricity Fees on Delmarva Residents

Governors Press Federal Energy Commission to Overturn Cost Allocation of Regional Energy Transmission Project

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today joined Delaware Governor Jack Markell to announce a united effort to ensure that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) promptly reverses a proposal by PJM that would place an unfair burden on Delmarva residents. PJM’s proposal would require residents in both states to pay nearly 90 percent of the costs, or about $350 million, for an energy transmission project that offers little benefit to Marylanders or Delawareans.

“Today, I am announcing that our administration is joining together with Governor Markell in strong opposition to this ruling, which would disproportionately cost Maryland and Delaware residents hundreds of millions of dollars for power they are not receiving,” said Governor Hogan. “We have expressed our disappointment, frustration, and opposition to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission this week and we have let the agency know that we are going to use every tool at our disposal to reverse this regrettable and improper decision.”

At a meeting held near the border between Maryland and Delaware, Governor Hogan announced that his administration would join in forcefully opposing the plan by immediately sending a letter to FERC members that echoes arguments made by Markell and the two states’ Public Service Commissions. During today’s remarks, the two governors urged FERC to act swiftly. They noted that PJM has argued that the states should be willing to pay because of reliability improvements needed to deal with major increases in energy consumption, but that those increases are not driven by the Delmarva Peninsula.

What Do You Think Was The First Image They Created?

YOOJ News for Donald Trump

The tables have turned in this week’s White House Watch. After trailing Hillary Clinton by five points for the prior two weeks, Donald Trump has now taken a four-point lead.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 43% of the vote, while Clinton earns 39%. Twelve percent (12%) still like another candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Last week at this time, it was Clinton 44%, Trump 39%. This is Trump’s highest level of support in Rasmussen Reports’ matchups with Clinton since last October. His support has been hovering around the 40% mark since April, but it remains to be seen whether he’s just having a good week or this actually represents a real move forward among voters.

Trump now earns 75% support among his fellow Republicans and picks up 14% of the Democratic vote. Seventy-six percent (76%) of Democrats like Clinton, as do 10% of GOP voters. Both candidates face a sizable number of potential defections because of unhappiness with them in their own parties.

We’re at ‘Point of Using the Force of Government to Punish Religious Organizations’

Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), spoke with CNSNews.com on Saturday and said the view that marriage is between one man and one woman is increasingly silenced as hate speech.

“We’re now at the point of using the force of government to punish religious organizations,” said Brown at the march in Washington, D.C. “This is not just undermining religious liberty this is the opposite of religious liberty.”

Brown spoke at NOM’s fourth annual March for Marriage against same-sex marriage and the first march following the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, which legalized homosexual marriage last June.

CNSNews.com asked Brown about his continued commitment to the issue following the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“Well, you know, just like the life movement, Roe v. Wade didn’t stop the life movement,” he said. “There were a couple of tough years, but out of the wreckage of Roe arose a vibrant, winning coalition.”

“It’s going to take years, maybe decades, but we need a movement that has this march to be a living symbol year in and year out that we’re here, we’re not going away, and we’re growing,” he continued.

Hillary Clinton's Vow To College Grads: I'll Outsource Your Jobs To Foreign Graduates

Hillary Clinton today promised donors that she’ll provide Green Cards to an unlimited number of foreign college graduates, even though the resulting flood of university-trained foreign labor will drown the lifetime wages and career prospects of her college-indebted American supporters.

The open-borders promise to foreign graduates is posted at her campaign, and is titled “Hillary Clinton’s Initiative on Technology & Innovation.”

As part of a comprehensive immigration solution, Hillary would “staple” a green card to STEM masters and PhDs from accredited institutions—enabling international students who complete degrees in these fields to move to green card status.

The promise was slammed by Sen. Jeff Sessions, chairman of the Senate’s immigration panel.

“There are more college graduates in the U.S. today than at any point in our history, many have trouble finding meaningful work in their field of study. Many are underemployed, taking jobs well below their skill level simply to make ends meet … Yet, today, candidate Hillary Clinton announced that if elected president, she would ‘staple’ a green card to STEM master’s degrees and PhDs of every graduate – enabling foreign students to get green cards and thus be able to remain in the U.S. permanently and take any job,” he said in a press release. He continued;

Motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts throughout the project. All work should be complete by early 2017.

What Is The Government Preparing For?

You may not be getting prepared for a major national disaster, but the government sure is.

I have been informed that in recent months numerous emergency food companies have been contacted by the government, and they have been told that their inventories could potentially be seized in the event of a significant emergency.

And as you will see below, the government recently participated in an exercise that simulated “an unprecedented global food crisis lasting as long as a decade”. In addition, NPR has just revealed details about the very secretive Strategic National Stockpile program that is storing billions of dollars worth of medical supplies in warehouses around the nation. This is a program that most Americans do not even know exists. On top of everything else, strange reports of military vehicles with UN markings have been coming in from all over the nation. So what in the world is the government up to? Why are they working so feverishly hard to get prepared?

Let’s begin our discussion with the Strategic National Stockpile. According to NPR, there are at least six of these warehouses at various locations around the country, and they are holding at least seven billion dollars worth of supplies…

Maryland Posts First-Quarter 2016 Data on Fatal Overdoses

Maryland posts first-quarter 2016 data on fatal overdoses.
Health Secretary urges users of drugs to seek treatment:
‘No illicit drug is safe.’

Baltimore, MD – The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has posted to its website the first-quarter data report for 2016 of fatal overdoses. From January to March, Maryland saw 383 deaths related to overdose. The report is posted at http://goo.gl/XogGSc.

Fighting substance-use disorder and the opioid epidemic in Maryland has been a major priority of Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan’s administration. Earlier this month, Health and Mental Hygiene released the annual report of fatal overdoses from 2015. That report logged a total of 1,259 overdose deaths occurred in Maryland in 2015. The number of intoxication deaths had nearly doubled since 2010.

In January, Health and Mental Hygiene issued a warning about seeing overdose data that suggested that a portion of the fatal overdoses were attributed to people unknowingly buying fentanyl while attempting to purchase other substances like heroin or cocaine. The department is repeating that concern.

“Fentanyl is significantly more potent than heroin and is being added – sometimes secretly – to other drugs. No illicit drug is safe. We need people to choose treatment before their next craving for a high hits,” said Health Secretary Van T. Mitchell. “These overdose data show it is just too easy to die from using drugs today. There’s no other way to read the data.”

Ted Cruz ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS Obama's PC Police

Reprising a familiar theme from his abandoned presidential campaign, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz convened a subcommittee hearing Tuesday in which he repeatedly charged that the Obama administration is "willfully blind" to the root of terrorism in the United States.

As chairman of the Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Cruz gaveled in an afternoon hearing that included a lineup of experts who both defended the administration's anti-terrorism tactics and harshly criticized the current counterterrorism strategies. Cruz repeatedly charged the administration was engaged in "Orwellian" internal censorship for fear of offending the Islamic community.

"Does anyone notice a trend here?" asked the junior senator from Texas. "A consistent effort by this administration to scrub any reference to radical Islamic terrorism, to pretend that the threat does not exist ... the consequence of the willful blindness, of a policy that as a matter of administration policy refuses to acknowledge the threat, means over and over again this administration has allowed the threats to go forward."

"We cannot combat and defeat radical Islamic terrorism without acknowledging it exists and directing our resources to stopping it," he later added.
