New Jersey security guard arrested over gun covered by permit and legal ammunition

A security guard in New Jersey was charged with possessing illegal ammunition and unlawfully carrying a firearm despite having the required permits for security guards in the state.

Roosevelt Twyne, 25, was arrested after being stopped by Roselle Park Police as he drove home from work in early February on suspicion of having tinted windows on his car.

During the traffic stop, Twyne said he informed police he had a firearm and ammunition in the car. He provided police with his permits to carry the weapon, including a specialty permit for security guards in the state.

Biden brother accused of using political clout to win high-dollar loan from bankrupt healthcare provider

Hunter Biden isn't the only Biden family member accused of profiting off his political connections.

James Biden, the younger brother of former Vice President Joe Biden, is embroiled in a big-money loan scandal involving Americore Health, a healthcare provider focused on the acquisition and management of rural hospitals. Americore filed for bankruptcy, allegedly in part because of unfulfilled promises and broken business deals brokered by James Biden.

Former Americore executive Tom Pritchard said Biden promised a large investment from Middle Eastern backers touting his brother’s political status. But as the deals faltered and Americore employees and vendors failed to receive payment for their services, Biden quietly backed away from the now-public controversy.

Bloomberg adviser warns of 'scorched earth' retaliation against Trump children if GOP attacks Hunter Biden

An adviser to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign threatened a "scorched earth" response against President Trump's children if the GOP refuses to back off from Hunter Biden.

During a weekend interview on MSNBC, Timothy O'Brien suggested that Democrats would engage in a media campaign against the Trump children "unlike anything they've experienced thus far" if Republicans continue to investigate and attack the son of Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden.

The comment came after Joy Reid, the host of AM Joy, asked O'Brien to discuss the first family's financial activity during Trump's administration.

The Dems Are Right. Americans Find Annoying Liberal Women Very Annoying.

Mark your calendars because today is the day Townhall Senior Columnist Kurt Schlichter agreed with Big Chief Warren and Scat Francisco Congresscreature Nancy Pelosi. Yes, they are correct that Americans rejected Sitting Bolshevik because she was a woman, specifically, because she was a very, very annoying woman who, besides her track record of tacky lies, was very, very annoying in a uniquely female way. Putting aside that she is the Bud Light of faculty lounge socialism, Americans had no desire to spend four years with some national librarian in the Oval Office pestering us about using our inside voices and demanding that we share the toys we bought with the kids who broke theirs.

She comes across as hella school-marmy, and the fact is that marms identify as female.

Of course, the male-identifying Crusty Commie Curmudgeon and Not-Senile Joe are annoying too. Like special snowflakes, Democrats are all irritating in their own special ways. But it’s true that Warren, and other females like Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit, are tiresome in specific ways unique to women. See, men and women are different, so awful men and awful women can bother us in different ways.

Confirmed: Either Fired FBI Director Comey or His Former Chief of Staff Rybicki Lied About FBI Actions After Comey’s 2017 Valentine’s Meeting with President Trump

Former FBI Director Jim Comey is caught in another lie. His story about the actions he took after meeting with President Trump in the White House in February 2017 are in direct conflict with the story his Chief of Staff, Jim Rybicki, told about the same event.

Crooked cop James Comey said many things about the President of the Unites States whom Comey was spying on and lying to. One of the now apparent lies that Dirty Cop Comey said was when the President had the former and now fired Head of the FBI in the White House on Valentine’s Day in February 2017.

CBS reported on Comey’s actions on this day:
Feb. 14, 2017: Following a meeting in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump asks Comey to stay behind to “talk about Mike Flynn,” according to Comey’s testimony. Mr. Trump allegedly tells Comey that Flynn “is a good guy,” saying he hopes Comey “can let this go.” Comey is noncommittal and briefs senior FBI leadership on the “very concerning” interaction, Comey writes. Comey does not inform DOJ officials about what Mr. Trump said, but implored Attorney General Jeff Sessions to prevent future one-on-one discussions between the two, according to the testimony. Sessions does not reply, Comey says.

New York City's emergency 'surge plan' for a severe pandemic calls for Rikers Island inmates to dig mass graves to bury up to 51,000 bodies as coronavirus cases increase

As more coronavirus cases are reported in New York City, contingency plans are in place to prepare for a worst-case scenario that could see Rikers Island prisoners dig mass graves to bury up to 51,000 bodies.

The city has plans in place for a severe pandemic whose mortality rate of 2.1 per cent would likely produce a need for quick burial of corpses.

The plan was drawn up by the city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner in October 2008 during the administration of then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The report by Charles S. Hirsch, titled ‘Pandemic Influenza Surge Plan For Managing In- and Out-of-Hospital Deaths,’ details response strategies in case of widespread emergencies on the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu and the 1957 outbreak of Asian Flu.

On 03.07.2020 at approximately 3:11 pm, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the parking lot of Walmart on North DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113) to a report of two people being struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival officers made contact with both victims, with one being in the crosswalk in the east side of the parking lot and the second being in the northeast side of the parking lot. Both victims were transported to the Bayhealth Sussex Campus to be treated for serious injuries.
The investigation revealed the suspect vehicle reportedly accelerated prior to striking both victims and failed to stop after striking the two. Neither is believed to have been known by the defendant in this case.
The suspect vehicle was later located unoccupied in a parking lot nearby. Further investigation identified the operator as Kala I. Fluitt, 23 of Ellendale. Ms. Fluitt was taken into custody on 03.08.2020 at her residence in Ellendale.
Ms. Fluitt has been charged with two counts of Assault 1st Degree, two counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Tampering With Physical Evidence, two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Collision Resulting in Injury, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Report an Collision Resulting in Injury.

President Trump secures no-cost virus testing for Americans

The Trump Administration is leading an “all-of-America” approach, as Vice President Mike Pence calls it, to protect Americans during the global Coronavirus outbreak.

“Last week, at this table, the President met with pharmaceutical leaders, we met with nursing home leaders, leaders of commercial labs, airline industries,” Vice President Pence said. “We’re bringing all of the businesses of the country to bear to protect the health of the American people.”

Earlier today, President Trump and the Vice President met with executives from America’s largest health insurance companies, where they announced a major deal.

Vice President Pence: We are defending all patients against surprise billing

“I’m pleased to report, as you requested, Mr. President, that all the insurance companies here—either today or before today—have agreed to waive all copays on coronavirus testing and extend coverage for coronavirus treatment in all of their benefit plans,” the Vice President said.

Medicare and Medicaid announced recently that beneficiaries will have Coronavirus testing and treatment covered. Now, private insurers have made that commitment, as well.

Insurers also agreed to cover telemedicine services, which will allow all patients—particularly among the vulnerable senior population—to be treated without feeling the need to go to a hospital or doctor’s office.

After sitting down with insurance leaders at the White House, the President traveled to Capitol Hill this afternoon, where he and Vice President Pence met with lawmakers. “We just had a meeting on stimulus, and you’ll be hearing about it soon. But it was a great meeting,” President Trump said.

He also had one important message for Americans during this time: We’re prepared.

“Everybody has to be vigilant and has to be careful. But be calm,” the President said. Thanks to early preventative measures by the Administration, as well as the strong fundamentals in our economy and job market, America is in great shape to weather any storm.

Judge finds Iran responsible for Robert Levinson’s kidnapping in $1.5B lawsuit

Exactly 13 years after Robert Levinson was abducted in Iran, a federal judge found the Iranian government responsible for kidnapping and torturing the former FBI agent who, if he is still alive, is the longest-held American hostage.

“This case, brought by Levinson’s family against the Islamic Republic of Iran for his hostage taking and torture under the terrorism exception to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, is largely about whether it was the Iranian regime that committed these barbarous acts,” U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Kelly ruled on Monday. “The Court finds, in no uncertain terms, that it was.”

Levinson’s family, including his wife, Christine, and their seven children, filed a lawsuit against Tehran in 2017 after the husband and father had been missing for a decade. They sought $150 million in compensation as well as another $150 million per family member in punitive damages from Iran’s government, for a total of $1.5 billion.

Ocean Downs Casino Starts Cancelling Events Due To Coronavirus

I just received word that even the Ocean Downs Casino is cancelling events due to "large crowds/gatherings". Many conventions across the country are also being cancelled.

All USM schools to prepare for remote instruction following spring break

ADELPHI, Md. - The University System of Maryland chancellor urged all universities to prepare for students to remain off campus for at least two weeks or longer following spring week, in wake of the coronavirus ourtbreak.

On Tuesday, USM Chancellor Jay A. Perman said the during two weeks after spring break or longer, all USM universities should be prepared to deliver instruction remotely.

Perman released a statement that said in part: "Given this guidance, I understand that USM presidents may need to cancel classes one or more days this week so that students, faculty, and staff can plan for this change in schedule post-spring break. Preparation for campus departures and online instruction will vary among universities, and each USM president therefore has discretion to ensure that faculty and staff have adequate time to set these plans in motion. While this means that some classes may be canceled this week, all campuses will remain open before, during, and after spring break."

CUOMO ANNOUNCES NEW YORK 'CONTAINMENT AREA' FOR CORONAVIRUS, CLOSES SCHOOLS, BRINGS IN NATIONAL GUARD

To prevent the spread of a new coronavirus, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced places within a containment area where large groups of people gather, including schools, would close for two weeks and the National Guard would be brought in to assist.

New York has seen 173 cases of a new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 and is one of three states in the United States experiencing a large outbreak. Thousands of people in New York are under self-quarantine, businesses have told employees to work from home and some schools have chosen to close.

On Tuesday, Cuomo announced that all schools within a "containment area" in New Rochelle will be closed from Thursday until March 25. A specific list of schools wasn't provided, but Dr. Howard Zucker, commissioner of health for New York state, said the "containment area" is defined as a one-mile radius around the area of the Young Israel of New Rochelle Temple. The temple was locked down after Lawrence Garbuz, a congregant, tested positive for the virus.

Berlin Mayor Proposes 4% Property Tax Rate For Council Review

BERLIN – Mayor Gee Williams this week formally proposed a 3.75% tax increase for the coming fiscal year.

On Monday, Williams introduced a proposed property tax rate of $.83 per $100 of assessed value. The increase, which citizens can comment on at a public hearing March 23, comes in the wake of last year’s 18% tax hike.

“The process of doing the budget formally begins once the property tax rate has been proposed,” Williams said.

According to data regarding possible tax rate scenarios presented at a work session last month, the town’s projected property tax revenues for fiscal year 2021 are $3.5 million. A tax increase of 3.75% would bring in an additional $130,879. Though the data reviewed last month included revenue projections for a $.87 tax rate, a $.85 tax rate and a $.83 rate, Williams proposed the latter on Monday. He said now that the rate was introduced, the budget could be developed based on the associated revenue projections.

Governor Hogan's Crime Proposals Pass In Maryland Senate

At the beginning of this legislative session, I told lawmakers that if they accomplished nothing else, they must pass our proposals to hold violent criminals more accountable and put an end to the bloodshed in the streets of Baltimore. This is Marylanders’ top priority.

This morning, members of the Maryland Senate came together in bipartisan fashion to approve a number of these proposals, including measures to increase penalties for offenders who repeatedly possess illegal firearms or knowingly transfer a gun to someone who plans to use it in a crime. I want to sincerely thank the Senate for taking action on this emergency legislation.

This fight isn't even close to over yet— these measures will now go to the House of Delegates. I urge Marylanders to continue contacting your representatives and let them know that time is running out: we need action on our crime legislation now.

CDC urges elderly to stock up on food, stay home amid coronavirus fears

Elderly Americans and people with underlying health conditions should stock up on food and prepare to isolate themselves at home since they are the most at risk of getting seriously ill from the coronavirus, a senior health official said Monday.

The advice is part of new recommendations from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aimed at the most vulnerable populations and stems partly from a new study of 70,000 Chinese patients with the virus.

“Have enough household items and groceries so that you will be prepared to stay home for a period of time,” Nancy Messonnier, a senior CDC official, said in a conference call Monday.

China Threatens to Throw America 'Into the Mighty Sea of the Coronavirus.'

China is threatening to wreak havoc on America’s drug supply amid the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. Thanks to our globalist elite and especially missteps during the Obama-Biden administration, Beijing has the power to do just that.

In an article in Xinhua, one of the Chinese Communist Party’s mouthpieces, Beijing threatened that it can impose pharmaceutical export controls after which America will be “plunged into the mighty sea of coronavirus.”

Unfortunately, Beijing isn’t bluffing about this capability.

As Rosemary Gibson, co-author of “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine,” testified to a congressional commission last summer, China has a dominant role in the manufacture of the generic drugs that comprise 90 percent of what Americans take.

What Caused Alan Dershowitz to Say That He Now Feels 'Conned' By Obama

Alan Dershowitz admittedly is not the most popular guy within liberal circles, despite having those views. Dershowitz has become one of President Trump's biggest defenders, especially in this past failed impeachment push. It was nonsense. Dershowitz knew it was nonsense and oftentimes he called out Democrats for their overreach in their attacks against this White House. He was part of the president’s defense team. Dershowitz also described the discussion among top Department of Justice officials of invoking the 25th Amendment against Trump as nothing short of a coup attempt.

As a result, the liberal lawyer has admitted to being left off the invite list of many dinner parties he used to attend. He isn’t fazed. Now, in an interview with The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, Dershowitz feels he was “conned” by Barack Obama and is now having buyer’s remorse for voting for him in 2012. Why? It’s not a shocker. Obama threw Israel under the bus, but more importantly, that action was seen as a green light for the anti-Semitic agents that infest the Democratic Party to make Jew-bashing the norm. Dershowitz said in private discussions, Obama promised to defend the Jewish State and the Middle East’s only democracy to the hilt—and did the exact opposite. Also, there is a rather interesting tidbit Dershowitz alleges concerning an FBI investigation request by Obama at the behest of lefty billionaire George Soros. The Blaze has more:
"I think President Obama, for whom I voted twice, and would now reconsider my second vote for him, he conned me," he said. "He called me into the Oval Office and he said 'I have Israel's back' and I didn't realize what he meant is to put a target on it and stab them," Dershowitz said, referring to former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power's abstention vote during a December 2016 vote condemning Israel.

Virginia Democrats Prepare to Give Illegal Aliens ‘Driver Privilege Cards’

Elected Democrats in Virginia are preparing to give thousands of illegal aliens residing in the state “driver privilege cards” that allow them to freely drive without being pulled over by police for driving without a license.

This weekend, state Senate Democrats in Virginia passed legislation to allow thousands of the roughly 300,000 illegal aliens living in the state to obtain driver privilege cards that will allow them to drive vehicles.

The legislation mandates illegal aliens to file a tax return or be listed as a dependent on a tax return in order to obtain the driver privilege card. Proponents of the plan said the card will explicitly state that those with the card are not eligible to vote in elections.

“Until we know the extent of the community spread of the coronavirus, I call on ALL candidates for President to stop holding public rallies & large scale events. Two other children, their father and grandfather who were also in the minivan survived.

But after killing 4 people, Lucas Dos Reis Laurindo was only cited with a ticket, the strongest charge that could be made under Florida law.

But that was then, and this is now. Between 2016 and now, Clinton lost a winnable election, so now, Facebook is the bad guy.

Baltimore’s Gun Crime Failures Tracked in Maryland Public Policy Institute Study

Maryland legislators have been making progress on bipartisan bills intended to help fight Baltimore’s crime scourge. While not as complete as the full package originally proposed by Governor Hogan and the Republican caucus, significant components have remained. The Violent Firearm Offenders Act (SB273) was amended to include language from Sen. Mike Hough (R-Frederick) making the theft of a firearm a felony and increasing penalties for repeatedly illegally possessing a firearm, knowingly giving a gun to someone who plans to commit a crime and using a gun while drug trafficking.[i]

Other parts of the crime package address witness intimidation by making it easier for prosecutors to admit prior statements in court.[ii] Also, annual reporting on circuit court judge decisions will increase judicial transparency.[iii] However, the mandatory minimum sentences originally proposed by Governor Hogan were watered down significantly.[iv]

The legislature’s actions represent the “Good News.” However, the “Bad News” is that even as crime has soared since the 2015 riots, Baltimore’s criminal justice system fails to use the law enforcement tools already available to it.

Epidemiologist predicts effects of coronavirus in the months ahead

CNN labels coronavirus a pandemic ahead of WHO and CDC

CNN announced Monday the news organization will start referring to the coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic even though several global health organizations have not yet labeled the crisis as such.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the network's chief medical correspondent, revealed the network's reasoning in an online post. Gupta said the change in vernacular is "not a decision we take lightly," and notes that "it should not cause panic."

Neither the World Health Organization nor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have labeled the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.

CORONAVIRUS AND PETS: FAQS FOR OWNERS

Can dogs get the new coronavirus (COVID-19)?

At this time, experts believe it is very unlikely. The World Health Organization currently advises that there is no evidence to suggest that dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus. The CDC also seconds that opinion, stating that, “At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals including pets can spread COVID-19.”

If experts believe it is unlikely for a dog to get COVID-19, how did a dog test “positive” in Hong Kong?

This canine patient was in close contact with an infected human, who was likely shedding large quantities of the virus. This led to the virus being in the dog’s nose. There is no indication that the dog is sick or showing any symptoms. Authorities say they will continue to quarantine and test the dog to evaluate if the canine patient becomes ill. In short, there was coronavirus on the dog just like there was coronavirus on the floor in the room but the dog was not infected or diseased.
