Fighting Fires Isn't Always Exciting, Or Is It?

All too often Salisbury Fire Fighters have been challenging me to volunteer and become a man by joining their team. The way I see it guys, I have no interest in doing what you do.

I'll stick to Blogging and provide photos and stories about what you do instead, OK?

Cato Oil VS Taylor Oil

I don't know about you Ladies & Gentlemen but I believe I recall the County purchased their Diesel Fuel from Cato Oil. That being said, don't YOU fin't it interesting that the County Executive and Staff hired Taylor Oil to pick up the stolen fuel from Ray Lewis Construction?

No one else is onto this but it does make you sit back and think, doesn't it? Hmmmmmmmmm?

More Salisbury Fire Station BS!

Gordy & See aren't finished with you yet! After screwing the Taxpayers into spending more money per square foot than almost any other Fire Station in the United States, they're back for more. No, I'm not talking about their $800,000.00 Fire Boat, that's another con job. I'm talking about not one, but TWO new Fire Stations.

They have been BS'ing everyone by suggesting they want to remodel Station II but that's NOT the case at all. In fact, they want to build a brand new Station right next door to the old one and, (are you ready) put the Old Station up as a surplus item too! I wonder what Bill Ahtes plans to do with that one?

Oh, I'm NOT finished yet. They also want to build a brand new Station on Naylor Mill Road. This Station will service the North end of the City.

Now let's see. The City bonds out $10,000,000.00 for the Station above, as if that wasn't bad enough. Then the Mayor suddenly has this need to raise taxes by 14%, all the while there's $19,000,000.00 floating around in accounts several Idiots FORGOT to reconcile into their accounts. HOW CONVENIENT! Now LOOK, all of a sudden were cash liquid and what better time to SCREW the Taxpayers than to suggest two more money makers, (whoops, sorry) expensive Fire Stations without the Fire Fighters raising a PENNY towards supporting it.

This whole thing reminds me of the Zoo. How stupid are the Taxpayers after all? I mean, the Zoo isn't raising next to nothing to be self supportive and how dare someone ask that they ask an admission to help the Taxpayers during rough times. Then comes the Fire Department and their wants, not needs. Now is NOT the time to be throwing money around like it's made on trees.

So why haven't you seen this story in The Daily Times? Well, it truly doesn't matter any more because Salisbury News is now bigger than they are anyway. So IF the Mayor thinks it will get covered up and no one will be listening any more, she's dead wrong. "Enough Is Enough!"

UPDATE: I forgot to mention, they want them BOTH built by 2010!!!!! Will Barrie Tilghman shove these two down the taxpayers throats right away before she's booted out of Office?

Can YOU Top This One?

I am thoroughly enjoying unique photos coming in for everyone's viewing pleasure. This was taken at the Fountains the other night by another friend of mine. I asked him if he could convert it to black and white and he's working on it. Nevertheless, do you have a special photo you'd like to see featured? If so, please send it and we'll consider it for posting. In the mean time, enjoy!

Rock & Roll Revival ROCKS!

If you've never been, you have NO IDEA what you're missing! I had the pleasure of visiting this incredible event Friday night and quite frankly, it was fantastic.

Students showed off their God given talents and put on a show that makes you walk away singing, humming and whistling, you just can't help it. They bring back memories of the Good Old Days and in my opinion it's the most refreshing show I've been to in years.

As you can see from the photos, the house is packed. That being said, what the heck is the City of Salisbury considering building another Theater for? I mean, I never even knew this building was there till last Friday night and look at it! How many days out of the year does this building not get used? Trust me, I'm NOT knocking it at all. I'm simply saying, this Theater crap needs to get thrown out the window as there are plenty of locations around the City of Salisbury to put off these alleged popular shows, NOT! Let them prove they can pack the house every time before they give up the old Fire Station, if you know what I mean?

Nevertheless, sorry I got off track there but it needed to be said. I truly enjoyed myself and you will too. IF you can get a ticket to this sold out event on most nights, you'll certainly treat yourself to a great time. It's like having your own live American Idol Show right here at home. Go, you won't regret it. I should add, the show is around 3 hours long. Can you handle 3 hours of truly enjoying yourself at something in Salisbury????????

Breaking News

I have just learned that States Attorney Davis Ruark will in fact take a 60 Day Leave Of Absence perhaps starting on Monday. He does have some loose ends to tie up but the intent is to go to Florida for a 28 day In Patient Treatment Center.

While Mr. Ruark has served as States Attorney going on his 5th term, making such a decision, (IMO) is the most honorable thing he could do. Stepping down and making such a harsh decision is not the answer right now.

Facing your problem head on and choosing to do something about it is not only honorable, just imagine once he returns and is seen in a local pub with a drink in his hand? I'd say this is a step in the right direction and will be life altering in the right direction. I'd also say that individuals like County Executive Rick Pollitt, Sheriff Mike Lewis and the entire Law and Law Enforcement Community will respect such a decision and I encourage each and every one of you to show your support.

My hat is tipped to Mr. Ruark. My thoughts, prayers, support and best wishes go out to him as well as his entire Family. That's a man!
