Ping Golf Clubs - Worth Reading

Something worth reading

On Monday, a friend played the Disney Lake Buena Vista course. As usual the starters matched him with three other players. After a few holes they began to get to know each other a bit. This is the rest of what he reports.

One fellow was rather young and had his wife riding along in the golf cart with him. I noticed that his golf bag had his name on it and after closer inspection it also said - "wounded war veterans."

When I had my first chance to chat with him I asked him about the bag.  His response was simply that it was a gift. I then asked if he was wounded and he said yes. When I asked more about his injury, his response was, "I'd rather not talk about it, sir".

Over a few holes I learned that he had spent the last 15 months in an army rehabilitation hospital in San Antonio , Texas . His wife moved there to be with him and he was released from the hospital in September. He was a rather quiet fellow; however, he did say that he wanted to get good at golf.

We had a nice round and as we became a bit more familiar I asked him about the brand new set of Ping woods and irons he was playing. Some looked like they had never been hit. His response was simple.

He said that this round was the first full round he had played with
these clubs. Later in the round he told me the following.

As part of the discharge process from the rehabilitation hospital,
Ping comes in and provides three days of golf instruction, followed by club fitting.

Upon discharge from the hospital, Ping gives each of the discharged veterans, generally about 40 soldiers, a brand new set of custom fitted clubs along with the impressive golf bags.

The fellow I met was named Ben Woods and he looked me in the eye and said that being fitted for those clubs was one of the best things that ever happened to him and he was determined to learn to play golf well enough to deserve the gift Ping had given him.

Ben is now out of the service, medically discharged just a month ago.  He is as fine a young man as you would ever want to meet.

Ping, whose products are made with pride in Arizona , has the good
judgment not to advertise this program.

This sure beats the heck out of Nike's million dollars giveaways to
athletes who will not respect our flag nor our Country. Ping , on the
other hand, renews your faith in mankind, or at least the class of the
PING Corporation. Too bad PING doesn't take advantage of this
wonderful program by advertising it. You can bet the Media won't do it for them

Iowa man's funny obituary goes viral, apologizing to those he 'offended' and wishing God 'good luck'

One late Iowa man will be honorably remembered as a legend in both life and death, thanks to a now-viral obituary that apologizes to those he “offended” with his gruff honesty, and wishes God “good luck” in welcoming the Army veteran to the other side.

Tim Schrandt of Spillville “made his last inappropriate comment” on March 29 and passed away after a “short” battle with cancer at age 63, as per the obit. His folks said that he will be remembered for always wearing shirts “unbuttoned three-quarters down,” “getting the beer and ice for family reunions” and his fearless way of approaching life.

“If you are wondering if you may have ever met him, you didn't — because you WOULD remember. For those of you that did meet him, we apologize, as we're sure he probably offended you," the eulogy read. "He was world renowned for not holding back and telling it like it is."

Born in 1955, the eulogy explained that Schrandt arrived in the world “100 years too late” as his personality would have made for an ideal “weathered cowboy in the old west or rough and tough pioneer,” though the author reported that he, perhaps, “should have been Amish.”

Judicial Watch Sues for Obama Ambassador’s Communications Related to the Anti-Trump Dossier

Judicial Watch announced Friday that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of State for communications between Obama Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Ambassador Victoria Nuland and employees of Fusion GPS, as well as top ranking Department of Justice, FBI, and State Department officials.

Nuland served as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs from September 2013 until January 2017.

Judicial Watch filed the suit after the State Department failed to respond to a November 1, 2018, FOIA request.

The author of the anti-Trump dossier, Christopher Steele, reportedly had developed long-standing relationships with senior State Department officials including Ambassador Victoria Nuland, “Between 2014 and 2016, Steele authored more than a hundred reports on Russia and Ukraine. These were written for a private client but shared widely within the State Department and sent up to Secretary of State John Kerry and to Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, who was in charge of the U.S. response to the Ukraine crisis.”

On February 4, 2018, in an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation, Nuland stated that she had been given details of the anti-Trump dossier directly from Christopher Steele, which she then referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation:

Deadly Candida Auris Fungus Is Pervasive Threat Amid Secrecy

Worldwide cases of an infection known as Candida auris have become an "urgent threat," unveiling the dangers of drug-resistant germs for both bacteria and fungi from a cloud of secrecy over fear of public hysteria, The New York Times reported.

"It's an enormous problem," professor of fungal epidemiology at Imperial College London Matthew Fisher told the Times. "We depend on being able to treat those patients with anti-fungals."

The symptoms are similar to flu-like conditions – fever, aches, and fatigue – and the "superbugs" resistant to medicine are most problematic for people, fatal even, with weak immune systems, particularly newborns, the elderly, and diabetics, according to the report.

The Center for Disease Control reports nearly half of patients who contract Candida auris die, and the fungus spreads very easily and can take over a hospital room, leading some hospitals to keep the outbreak quiet to avoid public hysteria, according to the report.

Kittens Over Kids

Four Democratic senators who voted against protecting newborns sponsored a bill designed to protect baby cats.

Senators Jeff Merkley (D., Ore.), Cory Booker (D., N.J.), Gary Peters (D., Mich.), and Tom Udall (D., N.M.) cosponsored a bill designed to put an end to animal testing using kittens. The KITTEN Act of 2019 came after it was revealed that the Department of Agriculture was testing suspect Chinese meat on cats, posing a potentially fatal risk to the felines. It was introduced about a week after all of those Democratic senators voted to block legislation that would have required doctors to provide medical care to newborns who survive abortion.

The contrast between those two positions prompted public outcry from those working to safeguard the lives of children. Lauren Fine, spokeswoman for Rep. Steve Scalise (R., La.), said that Democrats should show as much compassion for infants as they do for cats.

"There is nothing more valuable than human life, and as a society we must defend it at every stage," she said. "It's unfathomable that Democrats can find time to defend the lives of kittens, but at the same time are vehemently opposed to even the consideration of legislation designed to protect infants born alive during an abortion from being killed."

None of the Democratic senators responded to request for comment.

Kirk: First Step Celebration Shows Trump Will Win re-Election

This past Monday an event took place at the White House that many Americans might think would be an April Fool’s joke if it had been initiated by any typical Republican politician.

President Trump hosted a gathering to celebrate the First Step Act, the prison reform legislation recently passed that begins to address sentencing and other issues for people incarcerated in the federal prison system.

It was my great privilege to be in the room with the President, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump who were the driving forces behind the initiative, and numerous members of the House, Senate, and activist groups who all played a key role in taking this “first step.”

Bernie Sanders: Let Convicted Felons in Prison Vote

Senator Bernie Sanders this weekend said at a town hall in Iowa that states should give convicted felons currently behind bars the right to vote.

Bernie’s home state of Vermont and fellow New England state, Maine currently allow convicted felons to vote in prison.

At a town hall meeting in Muscatine’s West Middle School gymnasium Saturday, the Socialist Vermont senator was asked whether felons behind bars should have the right to vote, the Des Moines Register reported.

“In my state, what we do is separate. You’re paying a price, you committed a crime, you’re in jail. That’s bad,” he said. “But you’re still living in American society and you have a right to vote.

“I believe in that, yes, I do.”

DEVIN NUNES: 8 CRIMINAL REFERRALS READY, INCLUDING 3 TARGETING ‘CONSPIRACY’ & ‘GLOBAL LEAKS’

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., announced on Sunday he is ready to send eight criminal referrals to the Justice Department next week related to the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.

“We’re prepared this week to notify the attorney general that we’re prepared to send those referrals over and brief him if he wishes to be briefed,” Nunes said on Fox News.

The ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee has been teasing a referral for months and previously predicted its delivery by the end of last week.

Feds warn: China sending ‘thousands’ of spies to US colleges

Chinese intelligence services have sent “thousands” of people to U.S. colleges under the guise of college students and professors, federal officials said.

“We want to encourage people to come here and study,” Andrew Lelling, the U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, told reporters Friday. “This isn’t about targeting everyone who’s a Chinese national. But there are thousands who are directly linked to a state-sponsored effort to steal intellectual property.”

That warning underscores the scope of China’s “economic espionage,” as the Justice Department terms it, as a tool for national security and economic threat. That threat is part of a broader effort by Beijing to take advantage of American colleges and universities, which provoked a backlash among U.S. officials.

Kobach to Trump: End Remittances to Mexico

Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach says President Trump can stop mass illegal immigration and asylum fraud, as well as boost the American economy, by unilaterally ending all remittances to Mexico.

In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Kobach said Trump should replace his prolonged threat to Mexico — where he said he will wait a year before he puts pressure on the country — with an executive regulation that threatens to end all remittances by illegal aliens in the U.S. back to Mexico.

The threat to end remittances, Kobach detailed, can be used to force Mexico into an agreement with the U.S. that bans Central American nationals from passing through Mexico to get to the U.S. to claim asylum despite Mexico having a robust asylum system. The policy, Kobach said, would ensure that Central Americans claim asylum in the first eligible country they travel to.

Kobach said:

"The threat I propose is one that actually helps us if we follow through on it. That is the threat of ending remittances from the majority of people in the United States from Mexico who are here illegally. That is a threat that we could carry through on that actually helps our economy because the money is not sent home, it stays in circulation in the U.S. economy and helps rev up our economy. It’s actually a good thing if we follow through."

Ukrainian to US prosecutors: Why don't you want our evidence on Democrats?

Ukrainian law enforcement officials believe they have evidence of wrongdoing by American Democrats and their allies in Kiev, ranging from 2016 election interference to obstructing criminal probes. But, they say, they’ve been thwarted in trying to get the Trump Justice Department to act.

Kostiantyn Kulyk, deputy head of the Prosecutor General’s International Legal Cooperation Department, told me he and other senior law enforcement officials tried unsuccessfully since last year to get visas from the U.S. Embassy in Kiev to deliver their evidence to Washington.

“We were supposed to share this information during a working trip to the United States,” Kulyk told me in a wide-ranging interview. “However, the [U.S.] ambassador blocked us from obtaining a visa. She didn’t explicitly deny our visa, but also didn’t give it to us.”

One focus of Ukrainian investigators, Kulyk said, has been money spirited unlawfully out of Ukraine and moved to the United States by businessmen friendly to the prior, pro-Russia regime of Viktor Yanukovych.

“Folks talking about my voice can step right off,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Women’s March & Kavanaugh speech, same. Any kid who grew up in a distinct linguistic culture & had to learn to navigate class enviros at school/work knows what’s up. My Spanish is the same way.”

“As much as the right wants to distort & deflect, I am from the Bronx,” she continued in another tweet. “I act & talk like it, *especially* when I’m fired up and especially when I’m home. It is so hurtful to see how every aspect of my life is weaponized against me, yet somehow asserted as false at the same time.”

CONFIRMED… DNC WAS IN ON IT! Hillary Campaign Mgr. Was Pushing Fake Russia Story at DNC Convention – SAME DAY FBI Launched Trump-Russia Investigation!

It’s amazing sometimes how you can look back and put the pieces together on major events after the ultimate truth comes out. We now know that the Trump-Russia collusion delusion was a lie. But looking back we see that the entire DNC was in on it from the beginning!

On July 25th, 2016, the DNC was kicking off its convention amidst the release of thousands of emails showing the DNC working exclusively with the Hillary campaign in alleged illegal ways. Bernie Sanders never had a chance and the DNC chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, resigned on July 28th in shame during what was to be her pinnacle moment as Chair.

During this same time as the convention was kicking off, with hindsight, something startling was happening, the DNC started sharing the false Russia narrative that morphed into Trump – Russia collusion. Per CBSnews at that time –

DEMOCRATS AND MEDIA FALL FOR OLD, DECEPTIVELY EDITED CLIP OF TRUMP ON MS-13

Democrats and members of the establishment media fell for a viral clip purporting that President Donald Trump called asylum seekers “animals” on Friday at an immigration roundtable.

In reality, the clip in question is from an event in May 2018 when the president was clearly referring to members of the MS-13 gang as “animals.” At the time, CSPAN posted a deceptively edited clip that cut out someone else’s remark about MS-13 that the president responded to, making it sound like Trump was talking about immigrants more generally.

The shortened clip was reposted on Friday by Twitter user Mark Elliot, who falsely claimed that the president was referring to “people asking for asylum” and did not indicate that Trump’s remarks were not new.

HE WAS CHIEF JUSTICE OF A STATE SUPREME COURT. HE JUST REPORTED TO JAIL

Former West Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Allen Loughry surrendered at a federal prison facility in South Carolina Friday, where he will serve a two-year sentence for crimes relating to a sweeping public corruption scandal.

A federal judge sentenced the disgraced ex-justice in February, following his conviction for wire fraud, mail fraud and lying to federal investigators.

In addition to criminal penalties, Loughry was disbarred from legal practice, agreed never to seek public office again and paid fines totaling $12,000.

Local press accounts of lavish renovations at the state Supreme Court set off an audit of the justice’s spending practices. That inquiry discovered that Loughry and another justice, Menis Ketchum, used state resources for personal purposes. A federal investigation followed, leading to a battery of criminal charges against Loughry and Ketchum.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion vendor in the United States.

And they’ve put pro-lifers in their crosshairs.

But Planned Parenthood just got derailed with this one ruling, and they’re furious.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky passed an anti-abortion bill, HB2, in 2017 mandating physicians must show an ultrasound image and play audio of the fetal heartbeat before the woman is permitted to have an abortion.

It looked as if the bill was doomed when a low-level federal judge struck down the law, citing violations of free speech.

Man Who Bribed His Son Into UPenn Found Guilty Of "Largest Healthcare Fraud Ever"

It may be the case that all those parents who bribed to get their children into select prestigious universities, may not have had the highest ethical standards when it comes to other avenues in life.

On Friday, Philip Esformes, a 50-year-old Miami Beach resident was convicted of running a massive 18 year, $1.3 billion healthcare fraud that prosecutors called "the largest such scheme ever charged" by the DOJ, according to Bloomberg. The kicker? Esformes used proceeds from his fraud to bribe the University of Pennsylvania's basketball coach into helping get his son into the school.

Esformes used a network of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in South Florida to defraud U.S. government health-care programs, while at the same time providing inadequate and unnecessary care to patients, according to prosecutors. He funneled out at least $37 million between 1998 and 2016, using the money to finance a lifestyle that included fancy cars and a $360,000 watch.

The University of Penn's basketball coach plead guilty to money laundering last year in connection with the case.

Esformes is said to have bribed doctors to admit patients to his facilities, where they didn't get appropriate care and sometimes received unnecessary services, which Esformes then billed the U.S. government for. He also bribed a Florida regulator to get advance notice of surprise inspections of company facilities ahead of time. The sum of his fraudulent claims submitted to Medicare and Medicaid exceeded $1.3 billion.

Former US President Barack Obama traveled to Berlin on Friday to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel at her office in private.

German officials characterized the meeting as “routine.”
Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert defended the meeting as standard operating procedure and said she has met repeatedly with ex-heads of state and government “with whom she worked together closely and well for a time,” WRAL reported.
He said the meeting has no implications for current German-U.S. relations. Asked whether it was a signal to President Donald Trump, with whom Germany has a sometimes-complicated relationship, Seibert replied: “I would firmly reject that impression.”

Born Alive Bill Will Be Major 2020 Issue

Republicans want to hold Dems accountable for blocking newborn protections

House Republicans want to hold Democrats accountable for the party's near-unanimous opposition to caring for babies who survive abortion.

The GOP is pushing a bill that would force doctors to provide life-saving care to babies who survive abortions. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act failed in the Senate after only three Democrats crossed the aisle to support it, falling short of the 60-vote threshold. The Democrat-controlled House has blocked a similar bill from even coming to a floor vote, leading congressional Republicans to launch a discharge petition to rescue it from dying in committee.

GOP whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R., La.) is spearheading the petition drive. His outreach effort to Democrats, however, has only yielded three signatures—putting him 18 votes short of getting the bill out of the Judiciary Committee. Scalise said Democrats will not be able to dodge the issue.

Stream of anti-Trump media reports clashes with Mueller findings

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s no-conspiracy finding casts doubt on the liberal media’s widely reported allegations that Trump campaign officials conducted a steady stream of secret communications with Kremlin intelligence during the 2016 election.

The media reports in such leading publications of The New York Times and The New Yorker fed the Democrat Party narrative that President Trump and his aides conspired with Russians in computer hacking and social media attacks on Hillary Clinton.

Mr. Mueller, as directly quoted by Attorney General William Barr in a letter to Congress, concluded on March 22 that his team of prosecutors and FBI investigators didn’t establish a conspiracy.

If there had been constant Trump-Kremlin election communication, Mr. Mueller would have come to a different conclusion, congressional sources say.

Tom Fitton, who directs the conservative investigative group Judicial Watch, argues that the intercept stories came from Democrat loyalists inside and outside the government.

“They all knew or should have known there was no collusion, but [they] had an agenda of overthrowing President Trump, so the truth never mattered to them,” Mr. Fitton told The Washington Times.

Why the democratic leadership is responsible for the Pugh fiasco

It was three years ago, when a shaken Democratic Party – led by its de facto leader Congressman Elijah Cummings – coalesced around the most likely of candidates, who with their resources could defeat the democratic front-runner for Mayor at the time, Sheila Ann Dixon.

So, these officials hatched a scheme to ensure, by any means necessary, that State Senator Catherine Pugh was declared the winner of the democratic primary, which ultimately led to a mismanaged election process that wound up being decertified for the first time in state history.

Dixon, the former Mayor of Baltimore City who was convicted of one count of fraudulent misappropriations due to a gift card program that she herself created as the city’s Council President, had led in every major poll from the start of the 2016 mayoral race up until the end. In fact, earlier that year, when the January annual filings were set to be published by every candidate running for office, the Pugh campaign realized that they had to appear to have enough money to at least compete with Dixon, otherwise their campaign would take a hit that it was unlikely to come back from.

Upon the arrival of additional deputies, the deputy ordered Greffin to exit his vehicle as he was under arrest. Greffin stepped from his car and told the deputy that he could not be arrested. As the deputy decided to take him into custody anyway, Greffin pulled away telling the deputy to get off him. The deputy had to wrestle Greffin into the handcuffs.
Greffin was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Greffin in the Detention Center in lieu of $5,000.00 bond.

Suspect: Rodney O. Harmon, 56, District Heights, MD
Narrative: On 4 April 2019 at 7:41PM, a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Rodney Harmon after observing an obscured temporary registration plate on the vehicle. When the deputy inquired further from Harmon regarding the vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Camry, Harmon stated he had bought it for $3,500.00 cash. He told the deputy he thought he was just getting a good deal on the car and that the seller placed a Pennsylvania temporary registration plate on the car.
The deputy placed Harmon under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Harmon on Personal Recognizance.
