Three Major Situations Going On
A migrant worker was run over by a Combine today in Somerset County, also suspicious.
Then, GET THIS, a Salisbury Police Officer's Son discharged his weapon in their home last week, (of course NO ONE knew about it) but I'm told it's under investigation with the Sheriff's Department.
Things are NOT looking good in the Salisbury area crime wise. We should have a Press Release on all of this in about a week from the SPD, if they release any of this at all anyway?

Albero Trial Over - No Guilty Verdict to Put A Smile on the Faces of Tilghman or Duvall
Yes, it is true that Salisbury News publisher Joe Albero gave an Alford plea this morning in Wicomico County Circuit Court. Judge Kathleen L. Beckstead gave Albero probation before judgment with one year's probation. Despite what you will read elsewhere, that translates into no record upon completion of the probationary period.
Admittedly, I have a personal stake in this matter. Joe and Jennifer Albero are friends. If I were in similar circumstances I too would have given the Alford plea; so would Tilghman or Duvall. Any moderately sane person would when your personal liberty is at stake, no matter how remote the probability of incarceration.
Regardless, expect to hear Duvall (and possibly Tilghman) crow about this matter. Personally, I would not wish this on my worst enemy much less a friend. However, I can take comfort that Joe was not found guilty of any charge.
It's a shame that Bill Duvall cannot make the same claim. Someone who was once given the honor of selecting our judges, Duvall was forced to resign from the District 1 Judicial Nominating Commission because of racist remarks. Yet Duvall has the temerity to attack Albero for a crime which he was not even convicted of.
Duvall owes Albero an apology. Whether you agree with him or not (and I often don't), I don't see Joe Albero being tagged as a racist. Now Duvall will have to go back to merely bitching about what Joe writes, which is proper in a free society.

Media Furious At Palin's Popularity
Today, The New York Times leads with a smear piece entitled, "Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes." Likewise, today's Washington Post competes in the ever-further-downward spiral with its own hit piece, "As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin Cut Own Duties, Left Trail of Bad Blood." Cronyism, lashing out, cutting personal duties and a trail of blood.
NRO cites Jen Rubin's criticism of the NYT's hatchet job, finding that the facts hardly warrant the egregious language and condemnatory tone of the article. The Post article supplies even less substance - by it's rationale, every elected official who fills a cabinet with trusted allies is guilty of front-page worthy scandal.
It bears mentioning that the media have allotted absolutely no time to investigating the myriad "scandals" of Obama and Biden. If the Democratic pair were subjected to the same standard of scrutiny, the front pages of every newspaper in America would run for a week in order to capture their many scandals.
The media hates Sarah Palin. They despise her for routing radical feminism, they curse her for boosting McCain in the polls and they condescend her for the conservatism she refuses to remit. They are willing to shamelessly degrade themselves without limit in order to lend support to the Democratic ticket. Today's leading Washington Post article on Obama, even as he rolls out ads which patently lie about McCain, is titled, "Obama Points to the Issues: Ignore Attacks, Democrat Implores."
Were it not for the media's liberal bias and partisan interference, McCain would be leading Obama by twice the current spread. The greatest hindrance to enlightened democracy in America is the ignorance and prejudice promulgated by our media outlets. When every media story is crafted, manipulated or simply invented with an intent to forwarding a particular party or agenda, the free press serves no greater objective than to enslave the free will and reasonable discretion of the voting populace.
I'm informed that this came from the Political Machine Blog but I couldn't find the exact article there.
WY&CC Temporarily Unavailable September 23
Preparations for the emergency generator will power down the center temporarily
(Salisbury, MD) On September 23rd, 2008, the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office walk-in ticket sales and recreation registration will not be available. Tickets for commercial events will still be available on-line at www.wicomicociviccenter.org
The Offices and Box Office of the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center will be closed due to the installation of electric switch gear that will be able to accept the emergency generator installation. The scope of work will require that the building's electric service be shut off for a minimum of a half day. The decision to shut off the power in the morning from 8am to 12 Noon was made by Delmarva Power.
The Emergency Generator is due to be delivered and installed in early December but no further electrical disruptions are anticipated. The generator is being installed to generate sufficient electric to accommodate police, public health, and Red Cross services during emergencies.
Great Baked Chicken Recipe
When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me,
who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.
BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN
6-7 lb. baking chicken
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (any 94% fat free)
Salt & pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter,
salt and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking
pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Listen for the popping sounds.
When the chicken's a$$ blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it is done.
And you thought I couldn't cook. HEHEHE
Strawberry Quick
There is a very scary thing going on in the schools right now that we
all need to be aware of.
There is a type of crystal meth going around that looks like strawberry
pop rocks (the candy that sizzles and 'pops' in your mouth). It also
smells like strawberry and it is being handed out to kids in school
yards. They are calling it strawberry meth or strawberry quick.
Kids are ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off
to the hospital in dire condition. It also comes in chocolate, peanut
butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange.
Please instruct your children not to accept candy from strangers and
even not to accept candy that looks like this from a friend (who may
have been given it and believed it is candy) and to take any that they
may have to a teacher, principal, etc. immediately.
Pass this email on to as many people as you can (even if they don't have
kids) so that we can raise awareness and hopefully prevent any tragedies
from occurring.

Republican Women Diss The Oprah!
This was in the Miami Herald Monday morning. I have to agree with the GOP Ladies in FLA. The Oprah is using her power to ignore the greatest Feminist story since the Suffrage Movement!
Oprah disses Palin, so Florida GOP women boycott Oprah
The Florida Federation of Republican Women, miffed that Oprah Winfrey refuses to invite Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on her show, will be boycotting the show and cancelling their subscriptions to Oprah's "O" magazine, the group announced today.
"Women in Florida helped build Oprah into the icon she is today,'' said Linda Ivell, president of the federation. "With our Republican sisters across the nation, we have collectively enjoyed her entertaining, informative and female-driven programming as we raised our families and became more empowered as women. We are deeply disappointed in Ms. Winfrey's decision to sit out the greatest political moment in the history of women since suffrage."
She said Winfrey's decision is "an abuse of her power –gained on the backs of our patronage of her advertising empire."
Winfrey is an active supporter of Democrat Barack Obama and hosted several events on his behalf in key primary states. She has also hosted a fundraiser in her home and has drawn many new volunteers to the campaign. But she said in a statement: "At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates."
Winfrey had invited Obama on her show twice before he announced his decision to run for president -- in January 2005 and in the fall of 2006 shortly before he announced his candidacy. She never invited Hillary Clinton during the primaries and she said Friday she would "love" to have Palin on her show, but only after the Nov. 4 election.

Stacy Sakai & Katherine Amenta Raise $33,500.00 For Main Street Gym
These two chicks are HOT! Hot Fundraisers, that is. Between ticket sales and a major donation by Staples, the total brought into this event was $33,500.00.
Davis Ruark played a huge roll in ticket sales and I didn't do too shabby either but one thing is for sure, people love Hal Chernoff and Fernando Guerrero.
The Bank of America also stepped up to the plate by putting the Main Street Gym on their list of yearly Grant money and donations, thanks to Mr. Chris Hatton and other key supporters from the Bank of America.
I can't wait to provide shots on this Gym once things are finished as well as the list of names of those who participated in making this whole dream come true.
Again, my hat is tipped to these two young Ladies who really made this event such a success. .

Why Is Bill McCain in Bed With WET?
McCain wants WET to support the stealing of property rights from our local farmers. That's a no-brainer for Mike Pretl and his merry little band. As socialists, they believe that the state knows best and losing one's property rights is a fair trade to achieve their utiopian view of a "just society".
But wait, I thought McCain was a real estate appraiser. Doesn't he do work for developers? Won't this harm developers?
Not really. Sure, a few out of town developers will be harmed in the short run. However, local developers own a lot of land inside the metro core. The value of their land will skyrocket if McCain achieves his goal of stealing from Wicomico County farmers. I wonder if these grateful developers will be throwing business at Bill McCain?
Besides, IF the metro core is built out you'll see people like McCain changing their tune. Salisbury can always keep annexing until they reach the shores of the Nanticoke and Pocomoke Rivers. The Wicomico County Council has yet to show the political courage to say no to the Barons of Barrieland. Read More ...

Question of the Day, Tue 9/16
Royal Plus offices are right down the highway from my shop. I remember loading up all my baby and kid gear in the back of the truck and taking it to Royal Plus' waiting tractor trailer . . . crib, bassinet, clothes, onesies, diapers, wipes, etc. I actually had to wait in line to drop off my things. I felt overwhelmed by the community's outpour of generosity.

Burger King North
I was at the North Salisbury Burger King Friday night getting my employees some dinner and the cashier at the window was on the her cell phone, however they have a sign that asks the customer to not be on there phones when they pull up to the window, HUMMMMMMM!
I asked to speak to her manager and when she asked him to come to the window he punched the wall!
I asked him for the store's phone number and he gave me a fax number, so today I went in and talked with there General manager. I pointed out to the GM were the shift manager had punched the wall and there was a hole put in the wall. I was told that they would review the tape and talk with him! HUMMMM, talk with him! If this was my establishment he would be fired for causing physical damage to the building and its appearance, but instead he was working tonight! AMAZING, if Burger King paid there managers well, they would get quality Managers. THEY GET WHAT THEY PAY FOR!
Now I am scared that this Shift Manager is going to see me in public and takes his violence out on me!
I feel that I should have just let it go, but then I think about it and this could have happened to someone else or could have been worse, he could have grabbed some hot coffee and threw it at me, I don't know, but based on his actions, it scares me.
I strongly recommend we go to one of the other Bk.'s to avoid anything else happening!"
