Stamp Prices Set to go down 2 Cents in April

For the first time in nearly 97 years, the price of a stamp is set to go down. On April 10, a first-class stamp will cost 47 cents, down from its current 49-cent price. The reduction is part of a pre-arranged agreement with Congress. The Post Office got to increase the price of stamps by 3 cents in 2014 to help it raise $4.6 billion in revenue.

Fred Cherry, POW in Vietnam for 7 Years, Dies at 87

A Suffolk native who was held prisoner of war in Vietnam for more than seven years died Feb. 16.

U.S. Air Force Col. Fred Vann Cherry was 87 years old and living in Maryland. His son, Fred Cherry Jr., said his father viewed the time in captivity as part of what he had signed up for.

"He knew what to expect," Cherry said. "To dad, those seven and a half years was his duty."

Cherry was the first and highest-ranking black officer to become a prisoner in Vietnam. He was shot down Oct. 22, 1965, at the age of 37. His wife and five children were living in Japan at the time.

In a talk given at the U.S. Naval War College in 2012, the elder Cherry candidly discussed all aspects of his imprisonment.

Marines Designate Infantry Battalion as New Experimental Unit

Marines assigned to the legendary "Dark Horse" battalion may get the chance to try out new gear, technology, and fighting methods before they are introduced service-wide.

Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert Neller said Friday that 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, out ofCamp Pendleton, Calif., would spend the next year acting as the Corps' experimental unit, working with the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab to field-test new ideas and equipment over the course of ordinary training and operations.

"They're going to be our experimental platform, if you will, and we'll give them capabilities and do it in an efficient way -- which is, give it to Marines and let them figure it out, because they're our best developers and experimenters," Neller said.

It's the first time the Marine Corps has ever designated an experimental unit, and underscores the heavy emphasis the Marine Corps and Navy communities are placing on innovation.

Jeff Sessions: ‘This Isn’t a Campaign, This Is a Movement’

MADISON, AL – Sunday before an estimated crowd of 25,000 just outside of Huntsville, AL, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump received his biggest endorsement of the 2016 election cycle from Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL).

Sessions, who hasn’t endorsed a candidate in a GOP primary in his 20 year senatorial career, stressed Trump’s pledge on border security, immigration and trade in his public endorsement.

“I told Donald Trump this isn’t a campaign, this is a movement,” Sessions said. “The American people are not happy with their government.”

“There is an opportunity this year and we have the opportunity this Tuesday — it may be the last opportunity we have to fix illegal immigration. Donald Trump will do it,” he added.

USA Today’s Page: If Trump Keeps Winning ‘On What Basis Do You Even Get To A Contested Convention’

On “Fox News Sunday,” the Washington Bureau chief of USA TODAY, Susan Page said if Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wins every place except Texas on Super Tuesday, “on what basis do you even get to a contested convention?”

Partial transcript as follows:

WALLACE: And a number of our viewers agreed. Lee Burnham posted this on FaceBook. “It has turned into a circus. I fear for our country. Where is some principled, mature, and reasoned leadership?” Susan, how do you answer Lee and will all of this, the quote so- called circus, is that going to hurt Republicans in the fall?

SUSAN PAGE, “USA TODAY”: I think it will. You know, I think the evidence is, is that taking sort of — being a bully and playground kind of taunts has not hurt Donald Trump up until now. I think it may hurt Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), for instance, whose persona has been a much more positive one than he’s taken in the last couple days. But, yes, I think when you get to a general election and you’re going after not angry Republican based voters but going after voters in the middle, that it — this kind of thing does not resonate as — as presidential, as trustworthy as somebody you’re going to — you’re going to want to put in the White House to deal with all the issues that a president ends up dealing with...

WALLACE: How strong do you think Trump’s position is going into Super Tuesday?

Female Midshipmen to Wear Trousers, Not Skirts, at Graduation

When female midshipmen in the Naval Academy Class of 2016 stride out onto the field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for commencement in May, they'll be wearing trousers, not skirts, officials said Tuesday. It will be the first time men and women have worn essentially the same uniforms as they mark the end of their training in Annapolis.

Marine Col. Stephen Liszewski, the commandant of midshipmen at the elite training ground for future Navy and Marine Corps officers, announced the change to this year's graduating class Monday night. The 266 female seniors at the academy make up 24 percent of the Class of 2016.

Spokesman Cmdr. John Schofield said the new dress policy will reinforce the idea of "shipmate before self."

"The graduation and commissioning ceremony at the U.S. Naval Academy is not about individuals," he said. "It's about the academy writ large. It's about the brigade writ large."

Decorated Veteran Miguel Encinias Dies at 92; Fought in 3 Wars

Miguel Encinias, a Las Vegas, N.M., native who fought in three wars and received three Distinguished Flying Crosses, the second-highest decoration for valor in combat, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday. He was 92.

His son and daughter said he died of natural causes in an Albuquerque nursing home.

One of New Mexico's most decorated war veterans, Encinias served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a former prisoner of war. He later helped oversee the creation of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

"He was a very quiet, humble man who didn't speak much -- unless he had to give a speech," said Ralph Arellanes, whose father and uncles grew up with Encinias in Las Vegas in the 1930s. "He never spoke ill of the Germans or the Japanese or anybody he fought. As he said, 'They were just defending their country and fighting for what they believed in.'"

Mexican Ex-President Who Cursed Trump’s Wall Ignored Cartels While In Office

The former Mexican president who has been speaking out against Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump is the same former politician who ignored drug cartels while he was in office.

As previously reported by Breitbart News, Vicente Fox Quezada recently met with journalist-turned-activist Jorge Ramos where the politico used expletives to say Mexico would not pay for Trump’s wall.

Just days after making his now infamous statements before Jorge Ramos, Fox went on air in Mexican radio where he claimed that Trump would be dangerous for America if elected.

Fox claimed that Trump would take America over the edge and that Hillary Clinton would be the one person who could shut him up. Despite his tough talk against Trump, Fox seems to forget that he is at least partially responsible for the unending wave of violence that has taken over Mexico.

Fox, a member of the National Action Party- PAN, served as Mexico’s president from 2000 to 2006 when he made history for being the first president who was not part of the historically corrupt Institutional Revolutionary Party- PRI.

Clinton’s Swiss Ally Gave Big Bucks To US Campaigns

Hansjorg Wyss, a billionaire Swiss citizen and multi-million dollar Clinton Foundation donor, gave 30 contributions to American political campaigns over a nine-year period, according to an investigation by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Federal law has imposed a strict, across-the-board ban since 1966 on foreign nationals giving to U.S. political campaigns. The ban was later included in the 1974 Federal Election Campaign Act. The only exception is for foreign nationals who possess a green card. The ban applies to all levels of political campaigns.

Wyss donated $41,000 to seven congressional candidates and to four national political action committees from 1998 to 2003, according to Federal Election Commission records under the name of Hansjorg Wyss.

Colorado campaign finance records also report that Wyss gave $50,000 to Coloradans for Responsible Growth in March 2000, a statewide environmental political action committee that closed its doors only two years later, in part because it reportedly never filed the required financial statements.

In April 2006, Wyss gave $10,000 to Jim Baca, a Democrat running for New Mexico’s Commissioner of Public Lands, according to the State of New Mexico Ethics Administration.

Trump-Effect: Fox News Channel's Brand Takes 50% Hit Among Republic

Just last week, a years-long tradition came to a screeching halt. “You want me to put it on Fox News,” I asked my wife. “No,” she replied. “I’m done with Fox News.”

My job is to monitor the mainstream media, which is something that eats up about 14 hours of a day that begins at 6 a.m. when the cable morning shows begin. Lying next to me, my good sport of a wife suffers through about an hour of “Morning Joe,” whatever they call that left-wing garbage fire on CNN, and the rest. Out of habit, before I head to my desk, without really asking I always ask, “You want me to put it on Fox?”

Is the Establishment Ready for Trump?

Writing at Politico, Eli Stokols ntoes the big week that Donald Trump had, suggesting that it's indicative of a shift in establishment attitudes towards the long time GOP frontrunner. As Stokols notes:

When Chris Christie threw his support behind Donald Trump, Washington gasped. But the wall of establishment opposition to Trump’s candidacy had begun cracking days before New Jersey’s governor barreled right through it.

From Rep. Duncan Hunter and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who have signaled an openness to working with Trump, to Mike Huckabee’s daughter and adviser Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who officially joined Trump's campaign this week, Republican officials and operatives are coming to grips with the reality that this anti-establishment hero is now the presumptive GOP nominee.

“Folks are now going through the stages of grief,” said one high-ranking Republican operative. “Some are already at acceptance.”

For Christie, the endorsement was his only path to national relevance after quitting the presidential contest. For Trump, it was much more. Not only did it allow him to change the news cycle after getting roughed up by the establishment’s last hope, Marco Rubio, but it lent credence to Trump’s charge that Washington is full of easily maneuvered politicians.

Sanders and Clinton Supporters Are More Racist Than Kasich and Rubio Supporters: Poll

Backers of white Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders appear to be far more racist than fans of Republicans Marco Rubio and John Kasich in their attitude toward Abraham Lincoln’s freeing of slaves and the forced internment of the Japanese during World War II, according to a YouGov poll released this week.

The poll came to prominence when the New York Times found more than 20 percent of Donald Trump fans expressed opposition to the Emancipation Proclamation. However, USA Today reports, a closer look at the results also showed attitudes from backers of Sanders (9.8 percent opposition to the Emancipation Proclamation) and Clinton (6.2 percent) that were more racist than those supporting Rubio (5.1 percent) and John Kasich (3.2 percent):

Top Dems Outraged Over Obama Efforts to Ignore Pro-Israel Provisions

Senators urge president to enforce provisions 'as enacted and intended'

Leading Democrats are taking aim at the Obama administration for its opposition to newly passed legislation that aims to bolster the U.S.-Israel economic relationship and combat boycotts of Israel, according to a statement issued this week.

The Obama administration announced that it opposes portions of a bipartisan trade bill that would strengthen economic ties between the U.S. and Israel and force trade partners to sever ties with backers of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, an anti-Israel movement that seeks to economically isolate the Jewish state.

President Barack Obama issued a rare statement opposing the bill’s pro-Israel language this week, claiming that it sought to legitimize Israeli settlements. Obama stated that he would not enforce the pro-Israel provisions as a result of his personal disagreement with the policies.

The statement prompted top Democrats to break with the president.

The fracture between these Democrats and the administration comes amid White House support for efforts to label Jewish-made goods produced in disputed areas of Israel. These efforts have been described as anti-Semitic by Israel’s government.

The senators accused the Obama administration of lying about the pro-Israel bill and pushing a false narrative in efforts to oppose it.

“This simply is not the case,” they said. “These provisions are not about Israeli settlements.”

FORMER County Executive Rick Pollitt Just Can't Let Go

This morning I received a message from someone on Linkedin. When I responded it gave me a list of recommendations and Rick Pollitt was one of them. Obviously Rick is not willing to change his status after almost 2 years. And don't come back and say he's too busy or whatever. The man can't let go.

NYT: Fox News Colluded with Rubio to Give Amnesty to Illegal Aliens

A few weeks after Senator Marco Rubio joined a bipartisan push for an immigration overhaul in 2013, he arrived alongside Senator Chuck Schumer at the executive dining room of News Corporation’s Manhattan headquarters for dinner.

Their mission was to persuade Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the media empire, and Roger Ailes, the chairman and chief executive of its Fox News division, to keep the network’s on-air personalities from savaging the legislation and give it a fighting chance at survival.

Mr. Murdoch, an advocate of immigration reform, and Mr. Ailes, his top lieutenant and the most powerful man in conservative television, agreed at the Jan. 17, 2013, meeting to give the senators some breathing room.

But the media executives, highly attuned to the intensifying anger in the Republican grass roots, warned that the senators also needed to make their case to Rush Limbaugh, the king of conservative talk radio, who held enormous sway with the party’s largely anti-immigrant base.

So the senators supporting the legislation turned to Mr. Rubio, the Florida Republican, to reach out to Mr. Limbaugh.

The dinner at News Corporation headquarters — which has not been previously reported — and the subsequent outreach to Mr. Limbaugh illustrate the degree to which Mr. Rubio served as the chief envoy to the conservative media for the group supporting the legislation. The bill would have provided a pathway to American citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants along with measures to secure the borders and ensure that foreigners left the United States upon the expiration of their visas.

Did Christie Just Spark 'Draft Romney' Movement?

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's endorsement of Donald Trump, which can only be described as stunning and shocking to the political world, will cause panic and chaos throughout the GOP establishment.

Here are some of the immediate results of the Christie move.

First, Christie's endorsement of Trump for president is devastating to the GOP establishment which was in virtual panic about the rise of Trump before Christie endorsed him and is now in a state of total panic behind the scenes.

Second, Christie's endorsement of Trump is a devastating blow to the conservative establishment, which views Trump as neither a legitimate Republican or a legitimate conservative (as I wrote in my most recent column for The Hill). The Christie move creates intense pressure on Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), the conservative movement favorite whose candidacy would be devastated if Trump defeats him in his home state of Texas — which is more likely today than yesterday. The Cruz candidacy was already showing signs of fading before Sen. Marco Rubio's (Fla.) strong performance in the last debate and Christie's endorsement of Trump.

Third, Christie's endorsement of Trump will put intense pressure on Rubio, who performed brilliantly in the last debate and appeared poised to make a serious run against Trump. Rubio has escalated his attack against Trump today, while Christie coupled his support for Trump with an attack-dog barrage against Rubio, whom Christie obviously holds in contempt.

Fourth, Christie's endorsement of Trump is like a gift from God to Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), and the Democratic Party. Most polls have shown both Clinton and Sanders defeating Trump — in some polls by landslide margins — so while the Republican establishment is now in fear of the peril of a Trump nomination, the Democratic establishment and the Democratic base are thrilled beyond description that a Trump nomination could lead to a Democratic landslide for the presidency and races for Congress.

Shadowy SEAL Team 6 Member Comes Forward Monday To Receive Medal Of Honor

SEAL Team 6 member Edward C. Byers Jr. is set to emerge from anonymity to accept the Medal of Honor Monday.

Byers, now a senior chief petty officer, will receive the award for participating in a hostage rescue mission deep in the heart of Afghanistan, Dan Lamothe from The Washington Post reports. In 2012, after hiking with his unit for four hours to a remote location in eastern Afghanistan, Byers burst in a Taliban stronghold and threw himself on top of American hostage Dr. Dilip Joseph to protect him from the gunfire, as other SEAL Team members from his unit took out Taliban fighters standing guard.

While still protecting Dr. Joseph, Byers grabbed a Taliban fighter by the throat and held him up against the wall. The other SEALs riddled the fighter with bullets.

Byers was the second person in the room. The first SEAL, Nicholas D. Checque, was shot in the head and killed instantly upon entry.

“I’ve lived my entire career a very private life,” Byers said, according to The Washington Post. “We don’t talk about what we do, and this honor carries with it some obligations that I need to carry out. You know, you follow those through. But, I plan to continue doing my job as normal and to continue being a SEAL. It’s something I love and grew up wanting to be.”

Gov’t Memo Said Clinton Would Steer State Department Resources to Donor’s Haiti Project

Instead of building houses, Clinton Foundation donor Claudio Osorio went to prison

An official at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a federal agency under the guidance of the State Department, wrote a memo on Jan. 26, 2010 to her superiors recommending funding for a construction project in Haiti.

According to the proposal, Miami businessman Claudio Osorio and his company InnoVida would build homes on the island using low-cost proprietary panels. Lynn Tabernacki, OPIC’s renewable energy director, noted in the report that InnoVida had “U.S. persons of political influence that are able to assist in advancing the company’s plans.”

“For instance, former President Bill Clinton is personally in contact with the Company to organize its logistical and support needs,” wrote Tabernacki. “Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made available State Department resources to assist with logistical arrangements.”

Additionally, the Clinton Global Initiative had “indicated that it would be willing to contract to purchase 6,500 homes in Haiti from InnoVida within the next year.”

Planned Parenthood Touts Seven-Figure Ad Buy for Hillary Clinton

Any American who says abortion is not an important issue in the 2016 campaign will get an argument from abortion-business leader Planned Parenthood, which is promising to spend at least $10 million to aid Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Michigan, Virginia, and Texas.

“The abortion part of Planned Parenthood is an important part of what we do,” its president Cecile Richards said this past week, according to the Boston Globe.

Richards was responding to the fact that GOP 2016 candidate Donald Trump said he would eliminate taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood as long as they perform abortions but added the organization does “some good work” for “millions” of women.

To protect its abortion business from Republicans — who generally believe the organization should not receive taxpayer funds — Planned Parenthood will use videos, digital ads, phone banks, and in-home mailers in support of Clinton.

Speaker Ryan: Congress Will Fight Obama Efforts to Ignore Pro-Israel Law

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) told the Washington Free Beacon on Friday that Congress will fight against an Obama administration decision to not enforce portions of a new bill aimed at strengthening the U.S.-Israel economic relationship and combating boycotts on the Jewish state.

Ryan’s statement comes in response to a White House effort to waive portions of a new bipartisan trade bill that would boost U.S.-Israel economic ties and fight against the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS, which seeks to economically isolate Israel.

Top Democrats recently broke with the White House’s position on the bill, accusing it of lying about its pro-Israel provisions. These Democrats—including Sens. Harry Reid (Nev.), Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), Ron Wyden (Ore.), Ben Cardin (Md.), Michael Bennet (Colo.), and Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.)—demanded that the president follow the law as Congress wrote it.

Ryan agreed with his colleagues across the aisle, telling the Free Beacon that congressional leaders will use their oversight authority to ensure that the pro-Israel measures are upheld.

“Only this administration would try not to enforce a trade enforcement law. These provisions, which I was involved in negotiating as Ways and Means chairman, are designed to shield our ally Israel from delegitimization efforts and economic attacks,” Ryan said.

“They are now the law of the land. The president should listen to leaders in his own party, and follow the law,” he added. “We will use our oversight capacity to ensure these measures are faithfully enforced.”

Chris Christie Endorses Trump After Calling Him ‘Guy Who’s Playing Make-Believe on Television

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald Trump in the race for Republican presidential nomination on Friday only a few weeks after referring to the New York businessman as “a guy who’s playing make-believe on television” in a town hall meeting in New Hampshire.

Speaking to residents of White Rock Senior Living Community in Bow, N.H., on February 3, Christie recounted an anecdote in which James Gandolfini, the actor famed for his starring role in The Sopranos, had joked with him about his television persona being “all make believe” before pivoting to Trump. “You know it’s all make-believe, right?” Christie said. “The guy who’s running first in the polls. You know it’s all make believe, right? Okay? You know that there’s not really a board room where he and Ivanka and Eric and Donnie sit, right? You know what when he says, ‘You’re fired’, you’re not really fired.”

MITT ROMNEY IS BACK

GOP ESTABLISHMENT TROTS OUT NEW WEAPON IN ITS “WAR AGAINST THE DONALD”

More than a year after ending his flirtation with a third presidential bid, 2012 “Republican” presidential nominee Mitt Romney is back in the news – bashing his party’s frontrunner for the 2016 presidential nomination.

After deciding last January “to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee,” the fiscally liberal flip-flopper apparently doesn’t like the fact that billionaire businessman Donald Trump is running away with the GOP race.

So Romney – like the rest of the “Republican” establishment – is doing his best to torpedo Trump.

“We have good reason to believe that there’s a bombshell in Donald Trump’s taxes,” Romney told Fox News, a network which has done everything within its power to sink Trump’s candidacy – while simultaneously promoting the bid of the “Republican” establishment’s chosen candidate, Marco Rubio.

Newsweek Closed it’s Doors With A Bang!

Newsweek Is Now History. The liberal Newsweek Magazine is going out of business, but not before it attacks the President. This is quite an article, even more so when you consider that NEWSWEEK finally had the guts to admit it.

WOW! Newsweek COVER! It is their last cover before they fold. Also read the article at the end. AMAZING!

Finally, Matt Patterson and Newsweek speak out about Obama. This is timely and tough. As many of you know, Newsweek has a reputation for being extremely liberal. The fact that their editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama and the one that appears in the latest Newsweek, makes this a truly amazing event, and a news story in and of itself. At last, the truth about our President and his Agenda are starting to trickle through the protective wall built around him by the liberal media…

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages.

How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?

Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League, despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer;” a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, less often did he vote “present”); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.

Black Milwaukee sheriff takes on Black Lives Matter movement

MILWAUKEE (Reuters) - David Clarke, the African-American sheriff of Milwaukee County, is a man on a mission - to rebut allegations that U.S. police have been too quick to use deadly force against blacks in a spate of killings from New York to Ferguson, Missouri.

The 38-year law enforcement veteran has become one of the most polarizing black critics of the "Black Lives Matter" movement that grew out of protests against the police killings of unarmed black men, which he describes as anomalies in an otherwise effective criminal justice system.

"My mission right now is defending cops. It's a full-time mission," the 59-year-old, cowboy hat-wearing, sheriff said during a recent interview. "I've got to defend this profession, because no one else is or very few are."

Governor Boyd Rutherford, the Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force was tasked with making recommendations in establishing a coordinated statewide effort to prevent, treat, and reduce heroin and opioid abuse in Maryland. The Task Force submitted its final report in December.

In the months since the Task Force hosted a regional summit in Prince Frederick, the Hogan administration has awarded more than $400,000 to fund programs in southern Maryland to provide much-needed help for families and individuals struggling with addiction.

“There was a time when heroin addiction was considered an urban problem, but that's not the case anymore. From urban areas to suburban neighborhoods to our rural communities, heroin and opioid abuse has torn families apart and overrun local efforts to respond to what is a public health, law enforcement, and social crisis," said Governor Hogan. "The programs we have set in place in southern Maryland aim to strengthen law enforcement’s ability to target and prosecute drug traffickers, as well as increase quality treatment options for those struggling with addiction."

Governor Hogan Announces Project Schedule to Widen MD 5 / Point Lookout Road

Improves Access to a Maryland Treasure, Part of $167.5 Million Transportation Investment in St. Mary’s County

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Standing along Point Lookout Road at Buzzy’s Country Store, Governor Larry Hogan today announced the project schedule for the $13.5 million widening of MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) from south of Scotland Beach Road to the causeway area in Point Lookout State Park, one of the state’s most popular recreational venues. The construction project is part of the Hogan Administration’s $1.97 billion investment in highway and bridge improvements across the state. The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will hold public workshops this summer to discuss the project design with detailed design work to take place in 2017. Construction will start fall 2018 with the road open to traffic fall 2021.

“For years, St. Mary’s County leaders and residents asked for help to fix the traffic and safety concerns that plague MD 5. Today, our administration is answering the call,” said Governor Hogan. “This badly needed project will help citizens and tourists of St. Mary’s County get about their daily lives in a faster, more efficient, and safer manner.”

The 2-mile project will provide safe access to the state park by widening MD 5 between Camp Brown Road and the Ranger Station’s entrance booth and resurfacing the roadway to the causeway. The existing, narrow two-lane roadway is problematic for tourists unfamiliar with the road and regular visitors who drive recreational vehicles and tow boat trailers. In addition to people driving 8 ½-foot-wide recreational vehicles trying to navigate 10-foot lanes, drivers are challenged by the absence of shoulders and very soft ground and deep ditches on the roadside. This project will widen the lanes to 11 feet and add six- to eight-foot shoulders in each direction. At the MD 5/Scotland Beach Road intersection, crews also will construct an exclusive right-turn lane onto southbound MD 5, heading toward the park.

During the summer peak-season, the number of vehicles grows from 750 off season to 4,900 vehicles traveling this portion of MD 5 daily – a nearly seven-fold jump in the amount of traffic. In 2035, the peak-season traffic is expected to increase to 7,000 vehicles-per-day.

Even before the park opens at 6:00 AM, MD 5 delays quickly build for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and emergency responders. A disabled vehicle or minor crash can paralyze the area. These improvements will provide emergency shoulders that can be used for travel during peak times.

JEB BUSH FIRE SALE

EVERYTHING MUST GO!

It is unbecoming to rejoice in the misfortune of others … but in the case of former Florida governor Jeb Bush and his colossally failed 2016 presidential bid, a bit of schädenfreude is warranted.

Never in the history of American politics has so much gone to produce so little. We’re talking a mountain of money, all the early momentum, beaucoup establishment support … you name it, Bush had it.

And then blew it …

A year ago, he was leading the “First in the South” presidential primary election. He also ended up with the endorsement of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a former presidential candidate who at one point in the race was polling at 15 percent in his backyard.

Add to that the establishment support of Graham’s consulting empire … including an army of sycophant “Republican” operatives.

Christie Deeply Insulted by Rubio Voicemail

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was deeply insulted by a voicemail message left from Marco Rubio after he'd dropped his bid for the GOP presidential nomination, according to sources close to the state leader whose Friday endorsement of Donald Trump shook up the party.

Christie came out strong against the Florida senator, attacking him before and during a party debate by calling him shallow and scripted, reports The New York Times. However, Christie lost the Granite State after a pro-Rubio group, Conservative Solutions, released advertising bashing Christie as being President Barack Obama's "favorite Republican" and attacked him for his stances on Common Core and Obamacare.

And after losing the race, a call came from Rubio.

In his voicemail, the junior Florida senator sought Christie's support and assured him that he still had a bright future in public service — and Christie didn't appreciate the words, sources close to the governor said.

Instead, Christie, 53, took the message to be patronizing and deeply disrespectful, and wanted to know why 44-year-old Rubio would be telling him about his future.

“Diamond And Silk” Go After Marco Rubio’s “Gay Lifestyle”

NORTH CAROLINA SISTERS DROPPING BOMBS ON GOP ESTABLISHMENT’S CANDIDATE OF CHOICE

Persistent rumors about U.S. Senator Marco Rubio‘s alleged gay history received a capable assist this week from “Diamond and Silk,” a pair of North Carolina-based Donald Trump supporters.

The duo appeared on CNN in the aftermath of a recent “Republican” debate in which Rubio stepped up his attacks against Trump – urging voters to Google him to find out the truth about his history of allegedly employing illegal immigrants on various construction projects.

“Marco Rubio told us to Google Donald Trump, but I did one better, I Googled him,” Diamond (a.k.a. Lynnette Hardaway) told the network. “And when I Googled him – you know, he owes America and the gay community an apology, because it sounds like that he may have had a gay lifestyle in his past. So you have to be cautious when you tell people to Google people. Stuff will come up.”

Bombshell: Roger Stone reveals establishment using Mitt Romney as Plan B if Rubio fails!

The Koch Bros. met with GOP millionaires and billionaires Thursday night to pool together over $75 million to stop Trump and are going to use Mitt Romney as ‘Plan B’ if Rubio fails to gain traction on Super Tuesday, according to moles who were inside the meeting.

“$75 million to stop Trump and $25 million to Marco Rubio, but they gave Rubio a condition: he’s got to win the Florida primary or he’s out and Mitt Romney’s in,” Stone revealed. “That’s the plan.”

A Dangerous New Anti-First Amendment Ruling …

OBAMA APPOINTEE SEEKS TO STRIP PUBLIC OF THEIR RIGHT TO FILM POLICE

Up until last week, every American citizen had the right to photograph or film law enforcement officers as they pleased. Doing so was deemed to be “expressive conduct” – or free speech expressly permitted under the First Amendment.

Technically this right still exists, although a recent federal court ruling has thrown it into some confusion … and created a flood of headlines questioning its validity.

U.S. district court judge Mark Kearney of Philadelphia – an appointee of U.S. president Barack Obama – ruled last week that the citizens may not photograph or film police absent some “expressive purpose such as challenging police actions.”

Roseanne Barr 'might be moving' to Israel

Roseanne Barr, the famous American comedian and actress, has recently become a leading advocate of Israel, and on Saturday night she revealed she may be moving to the Jewish state.

Speaking before around 200 Jewish supporters at the Conservative synagogue Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland, California, she said, "I'm going there (to Israel) for Purim, and I might be moving there, too," reports Haaretz on Sunday.

"We might all be moving there," she added to the audience. The comments were made during an event sponsored by the pro-Israeli group StandWithUs.

When asked how the American Jewish community should respond to the growing anti-Israel activity on US campuses, Barr said, "the thing that needs to happen is that Jewish donors need to stop supporting universities that allow Nazism on their campuses. I mean these Jewish donors are just sending their kids to be beat up, and it makes no sense at all."

The David Duke, Donald Trump, KKK “Nontroversy”

THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT IS GETTING DESPERATE

Don’t look now, but we’ve weighed in twice now over the last week against positions taken by GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump – the guy whose populist candidacy we endorsed prior to this year’s “First in the South” presidential primary.

(See here and here for those columns).

This time, though, we’re coming down decidedly on the side of “The Donald.”

At issue? The Ku Klux Klan – and specifically Trump’s failure to repudiate an endorsement his campaign received from one of the organization’s former leaders, David Duke.

First of all, think about the verbal meandering required to follow this latest example of PC insanity: We’re supposed to be angry at someone for “failing to repudiate an endorsement?”

Really? Sounds a lot like leaving the cap off the toothpaste. Or not putting the toilet seat down.

Doctors Who Discovered Cancer Enzymes in Vaccines all Found Murdered

Not long ago, Neon Nettle reported on the epidemic of doctors being murdered, most of which were in Florida, U.S. The scientists all shared a common trait, they had all discovered that nagalase enzyme protein was being added to vaccines which were then administrated to humans.(SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO)

Nagalese is what prevents vitamin D from being produced in the body, which is the body’s main defence to naturally kill cancer cells.

According to Thebigriddle.com: Nagalase is a protein that’s also created by all cancer cells. This protein is also found in very high concentrations in autistic children. And they’re PUTTING it in our vaccines!!

This prevents the body from utilizing the Vitamin D necessary to fight cancer and prevent autism. Nagalese disables the immune system. It’s also known to cause Type 2 Diabetes. So basically…they weren’t killing these doctors because they had found the cure to cancer or were successfully treating autism… they’re killing them because these Dr’s had been researching and had the evidence that the vaccines they’re injecting our precious children with are CAUSING our current cancer and autism crisis!!

And that it’s obviously being done knowingly and on purpose! The Dr’s they killed in FL had been collaborating and were getting ready to go public with the information.

Depopulation 101..add poison to vaccines…make it law that all children must be injected to attend school. Slow kill methods. They think they’re being fair w/ their “survival of the fittest” type mentality. Only the best genes survive? These people have no souls.

Delegate Carl Anderton Jr. Session Week #7

Session Week #7
Week #7 of the 436th Maryland Legislative Session began with “Alcohol Day” on the House side. Alcohol day is the day when a wide majority of bills pertaining to alcohol are heard in the House Economic Matters Committee. We presented a billto allow a limited distillery license in our county. Tuesday we met with people who work in our poultry community in preparation for the “Poultry Litter Management Act”, which was heard on Wednesday. Thursday, was SU Day in Annapolis and it was great to see so many familiar faces. Friday was Tourism Day in Annapolis.
Monday, HB1359 was heard in the Economic Matters Committee. The bill is a Wicomico County Delegation bill to allow distilleries to operate in our county. All five members of our County Delegation unanimously support the bill.  Currently, there are at least two different investors looking to open distilleries in Wicomico. This bill would allow them to open new businesses and create jobs.  We’re cautiously optimistic that the bill will go forward.

(Maryland Secretary of Agriculture Joe Bartenfelder is joined by former State Senator Rich Colburn and the Department's Director of Government Relations Matt Teffeau in testifying against the Poultry Litter Management Act. Chris Perdue, seated in the front row, was there to oppose the bill as well.)
The big story of the week was the Poultry Litter Management Act (HB599). Wednesday, it was heard in my committee (Environment and Transportation). There are several things we did to combat this bill- even before it was drafted:
  • We started early- we anticipated a bill like this would be submitted and started working with stakeholders this past summer.
  • Met with local farmers. During testimony it was revealed that the bill sponsor didn’t meet with any poultry farmers before, during or after crafting this bill. The first thing I did was talk to farmers. They are ultimately who this bill would affect, so I thought it was important to talk to them first.
  • Met with Delegate Lam and Senator Madaleno, who were the sponsors of the House and Senate versions of the bill, in an attempt to explain the flaws of this bill.
  • Met with environmentalists to explain the importance of allowing the data of the Phosphorous Management Act to be gathered before acting prematurely by submitting a bill without that value information.
  • Introduced poultry farmers to both bill sponsors so they could get a clear view of how this bill would impact those it purports to protect.
  • Met with Jim Perdue and Allen-Harim CEO Steve Evans in separate meetings to get insight from their perspective.
  • Attended both of the Poultry Litter Management Act press conferences in Annapolis. This allowed our side to discuss the opposition of the bill with the media who had gathered for the proponents of the bill.
I want to thank Jim Perdue and Allen-Hiram CEO Steve Evans for giving of their time and sitting down with me on separate occasions to discuss both this bill as well as the issues facing the poultry community. In addition, I am appreciative of the whole farming community for their support on the issue. We had a great hearing that showed the major weaknesses in the bill and I am hopeful that the bill will receive an unfavorable report from the committee. (To view the testimony, click here.)

After a very hectic Wednesday, it was nice to celebrate Salisbury University Day in Annapolis. Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach is a passionate President and advocate for Salisbury University and I’m proud to be able to partner with her to stress the importance of SU to our community and the state.
Friday, we celebrated Tourism Day in Annapolis. The Maryland Tourism Coalition sums up the industry best with the following from their website: “According to Tourism Economics, tourism is the 10th largest private sector employer in the State, directly employing more than 140,288 Marylanders in 2014. In 2014 tourism generated over 2.2 billion in state and local taxes. Without taxes generated by visitor spending, Maryland households would have to pay $1,010 more a year in taxes. Overall travel expenditures in MD are $16.4 billion annually.” We’re blessed to be a great state that attracts so many visitors. Within a the space of a day we’re able to visit a mountain, the place where George Washington resigned his commission as General, and the beach.
This week I would like to highlight my Disparity Grant bill (HB1395). The disparity grant is funding that gives a boost to counties who are economically disadvantaged. The formula was changed under the last administration and it hurt several counties, including Wicomico. My bill would revisit the way we calculate the formula and seeks to restore funding to Wicomico. The bill is bi-partisan and co-sponsored by Delegate Sheree Sample-Hughes, who represents a portion of Salisbury and northwest Wicomico County. It will be heard on March 8th in the Appropriations Committee.
I appreciate that you have taken the time to read our newsletter. Keeping in constant communication with a perpetually open door is our way of #makingithappen. By working together we get things done both in Wicomico County and Annapolis. We will continue to advocate for the Eastern Shore, poultry farmers, and our Shore way of life.

Please contact our office with any ideas, issues, or concerns that you have. We’re here to work for you.
Blessed to be your voice in Annapolis,
Carl
