Lowell Stoltzfus Not Seeking Re-election

Maryland Sen. J. Lowell Stoltzfus (R-38)  announced this evening that he will not seek re-election.  Speaking at the Fountains Conference Center, Stoltzfus said that he would not seek another term in 2010.

Contrary to rumors that have been circulating, Stoltzfus will not be resigning his seat.  Some have speculated that Stoltzfus would resign his seat so that a replacement could be appointed and run as an incumbent next year.

Currently there are three individuals that have either expressed interest in the seat, or are rumored to be interested.  Michael James, who narrowly lost to Maryland House Appropriations chair Norm Conway (D-38B) in 2006, along with Pocomoke City mayor Mike McDermott, have expressed interest in running for Stoltzfus' seat if he did not seek re-election.  Del. Page Elmore (R-38A) is also rumored to be interested in the seat.

You've Got To Love The Salisbury Fire Department

"This morning, Thursday, the boys from the fire department were having breakfast at a local bagel shop. What was really net they drove that new, big fire engine. Look like they could choose a vehicle which would use less gas. They are putting mileage on this vehicle just driving around salisbury (learning to drive)? Waste of time, money and equipment. They should eat breakfast on their own time..I do."

Note Regarding Dr. Alverado From My Family

This is a message that will deliver HOPE to Dr. Alverado's family and friends!!

First of all, all of us that have received the gift of knowing Dr. Alverado, know of his incredibly beautiful soul. His ability to calm us, as parents, with his "gentle strength", medical knowledge and wisdom as a doctor. His soft spoken manner that seems to relieve our concerns and sometimes our doubts, is indeed a priceless gift.

God placed him in his position in life, to bless each of us as he cares for our children. And, as we all will agree, there could be no one better at caring for our children than Dr. Alverado.

About 15 years ago, my husband and I received a call that set us into complete fear for our baby girl. We called Dr. Alverado extremely upset. He literally went to the hospital and pulled the file to look at it himself. He discovered that in fact, the information that we had been given was not accurate and was misread. He calmed our concerns and went above and beyond what would have been expected of a doctor.

Our children, myself and their father, have been in constant prayer since learning of the situation that Dr. Alverado is in. The following will bring much HOPE and perhaps a small bit of peace as you read this. Several years ago, my mother was in a medical state that left her completely brain dead. We were using machines to keep her alive. The doctors said to me that it was time for us to make "the decision" to remove her from the machines and let her go. I believed that God had not had enough time to decide what was to happen. After more than thirty (30) days, she began to show slight progress. Even so, we were still told that it was time to make "the decision".

A few days later my mother moved her lips and she began to come back to us from a state that was said to be completely impossible to return from. She is still with us today, living an independant life here locally.

HOPE, PRAYER and FAITH are the key to all darkness in life. So for all of you that love Dr. Alverado, our note here today, was to give HOPE to all of you. Our prayers will continue and our thoughts will be with the family as they go thru what has to be the most difficult time in their lives. With great fondness and admiration,

Big Brother, (Chiefy) Keeps Tabs On Todays Press Conference

While Ann F. von Forthuber was holding her Press Conference today in front of the Court House in Salisbury, the Salisbury Police Department was sitting in their air conditioned offices and turned their camera on to the event without having to budge.

It has been reported that as soon as the event was over the camera changed directions and it was business as usual.

The SPD also had an Officer peeking around the corner from the Plaza on and off, so they had their angles covered. I wonder why the Chief didn't come down and meet with the concerned citizens of Salisbury about the crime issue.

Oh, that's right, they're still playing with prostitutes and looking for murderers FOR CRIMES they have yet to solve.

Hey Chiefy, FIGHT CRIME, NOT OPINIONS.

A Letter To The Editor

You know Joe...

I really thought you might have been exaggerating when you wrote that some people in the area were personally attacking you and your supporters. But, I found out today when I linked a story on your site to my facebook account that you were speaking the truth. I was not only attacked by someone who was on my friends list but a couple of their friends as well...

All I have to say is... you (Joe) must be talking some truth if all these people are so anxious to shut you up!!! It is pitiful that people are so bored in their own life that they have nothing better to do than to try and suppress another's opinions... sad... maybe they will wake up someday.
Thank you for all you do...

A Letter To The Editor On Congressman Kratovil

Congressman Kratovil,

Thank you so much for coming to our area to listen to our concerns. I attended the meeting at Mardela High School. It was unfortunate that either you and your staff did not anticipate the number of people that would attend or that you had hoped that people would leave when they found that they were unlikely to have 5 minutes of personal time with you. What ever the motivation for that forum decision, I am glad that you understood that the people who elected you wanted to make sure that you heard us. I do think that it was unfortunate that a couple of people were trying to shout you down and they do not speak for the all of us in their approach but you must understand that behavior like that is borne of anger and frustration with everything that Washington is doing to us and in that sense we all agree.

Congressman, the group that met with you last night are hard working folks who do not ask anything from their elected officials except to protect us from our enemies, secure our borders and protect our rights as citizens. The federal government, and for that matter state and local governments have proven time and again throughout history that they can not provide the basic life services to our citizens. Our public school systems are not educating our children properly because of government interference and unfunded mandates along with the coercion of the teacher’s union; Social Security is broke and now millions of people who believed that this was their retirement can not retire; medicare is broke and we are constantly hearing of claims of medical rationing.

This government, or for that matter any government can not improve our economy and take us out of a recession by becoming an employer. They weren’t able to do it in the early part of the last century and they can’t do it now. The only way for this economy to heal itself is to let business thrive. It has been proven that revenues will increase if business is doing business. Government needs to get out of the way, reduce some business taxes so that business can grow and hire more people and people will have more to spend. It is after all a very basic idea. We have lost so much manufacturing in this country and we continue to send some of our natural resources to other countries to be manufactured and sent back to the U.S. when we buy the product at now an inflated price. This does not make any sense to me. Why aren’t we helping business to thrive and produce what we need here and reward our citizens.

I am not a radical or a terrorist. I do participate in groups of like minded people, i.e.political, social and religion but I also listen to folks who think differently. I am a United States citizen who has the absolute and God given right to be free to have and speak my own opinion. When my government feels the need to target me as an individual either through the White House’s “flag” email program disguised under the “disinformation” idea or through invasive questioning on the census program now being run through the White House, I start to see a pattern of government wanting to control too much of my life. Unfortunately we have all but lost any unbiased reporting in this country, when Charles Gibson of ABC News refers to Congressman meeting with an “orchestrated” constituency. Where were they when Acorn bused people to the homes of those citizens who received bonuses that they earned. We are not orchestrated or organized, we are making use of our rights under our Constitution.

Congressman, as our representative in Washington and a citizen of this country, I ask you to read the Constitution of this great country. I hope it will be a re-reading of same, as I am sure you have had to read it during your education as an attorney and as I am sure you have had to keep that document in mind as a prosecutor. I do not care what political party you belong to because I have always voted for the person and what they say they stand for. You have been elected by our district as our representative so when and if you run for re-election, I will vote or not vote for you based on how you represent us.

Please go back to Washington and throw out this health care bill. Take a look at the issues of the best health care system in the world and do something to make it work better for the citizens and not the illegal aliens. Take a look at the medicare and the Social Security disaster and fix that. Everyone, citizen or not is getting the best health care in the world. Don’t break the system, make it even better.

Prior to your election you told me that you were a conservative democrat and you reiterated that last night. I am going to hold you to that and I will be watching to see that you act conservatively. So far?.. not so much.

White House Bashed For Health Care 'Snitch' Program

Senator says there's no precedent for citizens reporting 'fishy' comments

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today demanded that President Obama either halt a program already widely known in the blogosphere as the "snitch" program or define how he will protect the privacy of those to send or are the subject of e-mails
to the flag@whitehouse.gov e-mail address.

The White House only announced the program a day earlier, pleading with people around the nation to forward to the White House e-mail address anything they might see "about health insurance reform that seems fishy."

"I am not aware of any precedent for a president asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White house for pure political speech that is deemed 'fishy' or otherwise inimical to the White House's political interests," the Texas senator wrote in a letter today to Obama.

The Pentagon Papers Revisited

In 1971, in an effort to clear the air about what had really been involved with the American involvement in the Vietnam War, Daniel Ellsberg released the then TOP SECRET 'Pentagon Papers' to the American public, with full knowledge that his actions would be considered "treason in a time of war."

He did this largely because he believed that the American public had been lied to through four US presidents, who had based their policies upon keeping the US congress completely in the dark. His actions, Ellsberg believed would "keep America safe from this kind of government treachery for at least the next twenty years." As it turned out this historical lesson only lasted a short while, because soon after The Pentagon Papers had been read by millions-the United States was at it again: In 1973 two years before the Viet Nam War ended we overthrew the elected government of Salvador Allende, in Chile. By 1975, perhaps in large part due to the release of the Pentagon Papers, the Vietnam War was ended.

"Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers to the Times. On June 13, 1971, the paper began to publish the first installment of the 7,000 page document. For 15 days, the Times was prevented from publishing its articles on the orders of the Nixon administration. However, the Supreme Court ordered publication to resume freely. Although the Times did not reveal the source of the leak, Ellsberg knew that the FBI would soon determine that he was the source of the leak. Ellsberg went underground, living secretly among like-minded people. He was not caught by the FBI, even though they were under enormous pressure from the Nixon Administration to find him.

Kratovil Secures Immediate Visa Relief For Maryland Crab Industry

DHS Responds to Inquiries by Rep. Frank Kratovil and will Announce the Release of Additional H-2B Visas

Washington, DC
– Responding to efforts by Congressman Frank Kratovil, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Deputy Secretary Jane Holl Lute confirmed today that the DHS will shortly announce the release of additional FY09 H-2B visas for temporary workers, which will provide immediate relief to numerous Maryland crab processing businesses. Federal immigration laws cap the H-2B program at 66,000 visas per year, and many crab processing facilities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore have had their H-2B applications denied as a result of the DHS formula for allocating visas under this cap. After repeated inquiries from Kratovil regarding potential steps that DHS could take to help the crabbing industry, including the allocation of visas, DHS will acknowledge today that visas have been under-allocated under the fiscal year 2009 cap and an additional 25,000 visas will be immediately released. This announcement is welcome news to the Maryland crab industry, which has been dealing with a severe labor shortage that has prevented a number of processing facilities from opening this season, while those that have been opened have been operating at levels far below capacity. Reopening these facilities will have a major impact on the local economy; a recent study from the University of Maryland found that each H-2B worker in the crab industry supports 2.5 American jobs.

Rep. Kratovil released the following statement regarding The Department of Homeland Security’s decision.

“I am pleased that the Department of Homeland Security listened to our pleas and released these additional visas. This decision is great news for the Eastern Shore communities that have been hurting because of the closed picking houses. These additional visas will allow Maryland’s crab processors to open and remain viable throughout the rest of this season. Today’s announcement is good news for the watermen, picking house owners and employees, truck drivers, restaurant owners, community bankers, and everyone else whose livelihood is impacted by the crabbing industry. I would also like to acknowledge the work of Senator Barbara Mikulski, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and other colleagues in Maryland and across the country who have also been steadfast champions for H-2B relief.”

Obama As Joker Explained

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
August 5, 2009

Michael Shaw, over at Huffington Post
, does not seem to understand the Obama-as-Joker poster. “Regarding the image specifically, I’m interested in your read, particularly Obama in chalky white face. Besides the allusion to the President as a psychopath and more insidiously, a man behind a mask, does the chalk exploit race by suggesting the man is playing at being white? What I’m also concerned about, aside from the psycho-Joker reference, is the association to violence (emphasized by the gang tags in the background), Obama with the bloody mouth and, particularly, a couple of black eyes,” muses Shaw.

Liberals far and wide are like Chatty Cathy dolls when it comes to either criticizing or parodying Obama — they uniformly assert racism is at work. Of course, one of the reasons our rulers selected Obama is because they want to disarm all criticism by playing the race card. In our politically correct and brainwashed society, any allusion to racism immediately destroys an argument — no matter how reasoned or logical.

Police Charge Man Over Beer Run On Lawnmower

Witnesses spotted Ill. driver weaving in and out of traffic on garden vehicle

BELLEVILLE, Ill.
- With a revoked license because of a previous drunken-driving conviction, Dennis Cretton shouldn't drive. But authorities said that didn't stop the 49-year-old man from drunkenly driving up to a gas station for more beer — on his yellow riding lawnmower.

Cretton was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence after neighbors reported he was weaving in and out of traffic on his lawnmower Friday night.

When deputies tried to stop him, authorities said Bretton drove the mower into his home's front yard, his 12-pack of Milwaukee's Best spilling onto the ground along the way.

Retailers Report Sluggish July Sales

As consumers worry about jobs, retailers fret about back-to-school season

NEW YORK - Shoppers — worried about job security and finding fewer options among the sales bins — remained tight-fisted in July, resulting in sluggish sales for many merchants and raising concern about the back-to-school shopping season's health.

As merchants reported their sales figures Thursday, mall-based chains continue to be hit hardest as consumers focus on necessities. Among the big disappointments were Stage Stores Inc. and teen retailer Wet Seal Inc. Warehouse club operator Costco Wholesale Corp.'s results also came in slightly below analysts' estimates.

Old Aviators And Old Airplanes.....

This is a good little story about a vivid memory of a P-51 and its pilot by a fellow who was 12 years old in Canada in 1967. You may know a few others who would appreciate it.

It was noon on a Sunday as I recall, the day a Mustang P-51 was to take to the air. They said it had flown in during the night from some U.S. airport, the pilot had been tired.

I marveled at the size of the plane dwarfing the Pipers and Canucks tied down by her. It was much larger than in the movies. She glistened in the sun like a bulwark of security from days gone by.

The pilot arrived by cab, paid the driver, and then stepped into the flight lounge. He was an older man; his wavy hair was gray and tossed. Looked like it might have been combed, say, around the turn of the century. His flight jacket was
checked, creased and worn - it smelled old and genuine. Old Glory was prominently sewn to its shoulders. He projected a quiet air of proficiency and pride devoid of arrogance.

He filed a quick flight plan to Montreal (Expo-67, Air Show) then walked across the tarmac. After taking several minutes to perform his walk-around check, the pilot returned to the flight lounge to ask if anyone would be available to stand by with fire extinguishers while he "flashed the old bird up, just to be safe."

Though only 12 at the time I was allowed to stand by with an extinguisher. After brief instruction on its use -- "If you see a fire, point, then pull this lever!" I later became a firefighter, but that's another story.

The air around the exhaust manifolds shimmered like a mirror from fuel flames as huge prop started to rotate. One manifold, then another, and yet another barked -- I stepped back with the others. In moments the Packard-built Merlin engine came to life with a thunderous roar, blue flames knifed from her manifolds. I looked at the others' faces, there was no concern.. I lowered the bell of my extinguisher. One of the guys signaled to walk back to the lounge. We did. Several minutes later we could hear the pilot doing his pre-flight run-up.

He'd taxied to the end of runway 19, out of sight. All went quiet for several seconds; we raced from the lounge to the second story deck to see if we could catch a glimpse of the P-51 as she started down the runway. We could not. There we stood, eyes fixed to a spot half way down 19. Then a roar ripped across the field, much louder than before, like a furious hell spawn set loose---something mighty this way was coming. "Listen to that thing!" said the controller.

In seconds the Mustang burst into our line of sight. Its tail was already off and it was moving faster than anything I'd ever seen by that point on 19. Two-thirds the way down 19 the Mustang was airborne with her gear going up. The prop tips were supersonic; we clasped our ears as the Mustang climbed hellish fast into the circuit to be eaten up by the dog-day haze. We stood for a few moments in stunned silence trying to digest what we'd just seen. The radio controller rushed by me to the radio.

"Kingston tower, calling Mustang?" He looked back to us as he waited for an acknowledgment

The radio crackled, "Go ahead Kingston ."

"Roger Mustang. Kingston tower would like to advise the circuit is clear for a low level pass."

I stood in shock because the controller had, more or less, just asked the pilot to return for an impromptu air show! The controller looked at us. "What?" He asked. "I can't let that guy go without asking. I couldn't forgive myself!"

The radio crackled once again, "Kingston, do I have permission for a low level pass, east to west, across the field?"

"Roger Mustang, the circuit is clear for an east to west pass."

"Roger, Kingston , I'm coming out of 3000 feet, stand by."

We rushed back onto the second-story deck, eyes fixed toward the eastern haze. The sound was subtle at first, a high-pitched whine, a muffled screech, a distant scream. Moments later the P-51 burst through the haze. Her airframe straining against positive Gs and gravity, wing tips spilling contrails of condensed air, prop-tips again supersonic as the burnished bird blasted across the eastern margin of the field shredding and tearing the air.

At about 400 mph and 150 yards from where we stood she passed with the old American pilot saluting. Imagine. A salute! I felt like laughing, I felt like crying.

She glistened, she screamed, the building shook, my heart pounded. Then the old pilot pulled her up and rolled, and rolled, and rolled out of sight into the broken clouds and indelibly into my memory.

I've never wanted to be an American more than on that day. It was a time when many nations in the world looked to America as their big brother, a steady and even-handed beacon of security who navigated difficult political water with grace and style; not unlike the pilot who'd just flown into my memory. He was proud, not arrogant; humble, not a braggart; old and honest, projecting an aura of America at its best.

That America will return one day, I know it will. Until that time, I'll just send off this story; call it a reciprocal salute, to the old American pilot who wove a memory for a young Canadian that's lasted a lifetime.

Lipstick In School

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lip stick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Every night the maintenance man would remove them, and the next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the 12 year old girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses).

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.

He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers ... And then there are educators.

New Alphabet

A is for apple, and B is for boat,
That used to be right, but now it won't float.
Age before beauty is what we once said,
But let's be a bit more realistic instead.

Now

The Alphabet

A's for arthritis;
B's the bad back,
C's the chest pains,
Perhaps car-d-iac?

D is for dental decay and decline,
E is for eyesight, can't read that top line!
F is for fissures and fluid retention,
G is for gas which we'd rather not mention.

H High blood pressure--We'd rather it low;
I For incisions with scars you can show.
J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend,
K is for knees that crack when they bend.

L 's for libido, what happened to sex?
M is for memory; we forget what comes next.
N is neuralgia, in nerves way down low;
O is for osteo, bones that don't grow!

P for prescriptions. We have quite a few,
Just give us a pill and we'll be good as new!
Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu?
R is for reflux, one meal turns to two.

S is for sleepless nights, counting our fears,
T is for Tinnitus; bells in our ears!
U is for urinary; troubles with flow;
V for vertigo, that's 'dizzy,' you know.

W for worry, NOW what's going 'round?
X is for X-ray, and what might be found.
Y for another year we are left here behind,
Z is for zest WE still have -- in OUR minds.

We've survived all the symptoms, our body's deployed, and
We're keeping twenty-six doctors fully employed.

IF YOU ARE OLD, HAVE A GREAT DAY.

IF NOT, YOUR TURN WILL COME!

Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Incident: Theft
Date of Incident: July 2009
Location: Wicomico County, MD
Suspect: William Cleatus Stier,

Narrative: During the month of July 2009
, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office began investigating reports of a subject allegedly scamming individuals in Wicomico County out of money. Investigation revealed that the subject, William Cleatus Stier, would approach an individual claiming his vehicle broke down and that he and his family were stranded and had no money for the parts necessary for the repair. Stier would then prey on the good nature of the individual to get money from them. However, the investigation revealed that the money was actually used to purchase drugs.

During the investigation, the deputy identified three confirmed victims of Stier and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Stier was arrested on the warrant on 5 August 2009 and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner’s Office. After an initial appearance Stier was detained by the Commissioner in the detention Center in lieu of $15,000.00 bond.

The Wicomico Sheriff’s Office would request that local media air the attached photograph of William Cleatus Stier and ask anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Stier to contact the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office

CASE OF THE PREGNANT LADY

A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus. She noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her.

She immediately moved to another seat.

This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again.
The man seemed more amused.

When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing, she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.

The case came up in court.

The judge asked the man (about 20 years old) what he had to say for himself.

The man replied, 'Well your Honor, it was like this: when the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but notice her condition.

She sat down under a sign that said,
'The Double Mint Twins are coming' and I grinned.

Then she moved and sat under a sign that said,
' Logan 's Liniment will reduce the swelling,' and I had to smile.

Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that said,
'William's Big Stick Did the Trick,' and I could hardly contain myself.

But, Your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said,

'Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident!'

... I just lost it.'

'CASE DISMISSED!!'

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona ? And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not.
This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

Better Buy: New Or Used?

Does it make more sense to buy a new car or a used car?

That's a question that only you can answer, but of course you'll end up looking at price as your primary decision-making tool.

We've rounded up the most popular new sedans and their corresponding three-year-old used cars.

WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED:

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures. Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.

One mood all the time.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks.. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shor ts no matter how your legs look. You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a moustache.

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

The Worlds Dumbest Dog

U.S. Mulls Remaking Mortgage Giants

'Bad Bank' would wipe slate clean for Fannie, Freddie by taking toxic loans

The Obama administration is considering an overhaul of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that would strip the mortgage finance giants of hundreds of billions of dollars in troubled loans and create a new structure to support the home-loan market, government officials said.

The bad debts the firms own would be placed in new government-backed financial institutions -- so-called bad banks -- that would take responsibility for collecting as much of the outstanding balance as possible. What would be left would be two healthy financial companies with a clean slate.

Petitions For U.S. Worker Green Cards Plunge

Experts: Weak job market, long application processing times are factors

DALLAS
- The number of petitions from employers trying to bring foreigners to work permanently in the United States has declined dramatically over the last two years, an Associated Press review of government data has found.

With the nation facing a deep recession and high unemployment, the government has received about half the number of employer-sponsored applications for work-based green cards in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 than it did in each of the previous years. There were almost 235,000 applications submitted in fiscal 2007, almost 104,000 the following year, and fewer than 36,000 through the first eight months of fiscal 2009, according to data obtained by the AP.

I Love This Doctor

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise.
Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer;
that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster.
Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn.
And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient
mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken.
Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable).
And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine,
that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more
of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger.
You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!!
It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health.
It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
