IntoxicGate III

Today, the Public Works Department at the Landfill were up to what seems very suspicious activity and became quite bothered when I arrived and started taking pictures.

In fact, one of the upper managers, (I'll assume) who had given me a hard time the last time I was out there confronted me again today and asked what the hell I was doing? I happened to be on my cell phone when he started giving me the third degree and I said, what's your name Sir? He replied, that's not important, you need to leave. I stated I was on a public road, (nicely) and he continued to demand that I leave. I asked again, can I get your name please? NO! I said, if that's how you're going to be, I'm not leaving until I get your name, will you give me your name please? He replied, Mike Hayman. I immediately said, thank you Mike, I appreciate that very much. Now, are you asking me to move? He stated I was in the way, which I was not. I was certainly not in any ones way But I said, where would you like me to go? He pointed behind me and I immediately moved my vehicle.

The next thing I knew, he had returned and pulled directly behind me, came to my vehicle on foot and said, you have to leave and you cannot return until you have written permission from Rick Pollitt to be here! I responded, now Mike, this is a public road and I have every right to be here. He said, leave and get a note from Rick, you cannot be here.

Well Folks, you know me, I stayed right there and I called Rick's Office and by all means they stated immediately, you have them call me and I'll get it straight. I walked up to Mike and said, I think you better call Mr. Pollitt's Office, I'm not going anywhere.

If you'll recall photos I've produced over the last two week on the Landfill and the run off all the way to the River, out of nowhere today they chose to BLOCK OFF that passageway from the stream that runs down Brick Kiln Road, as seen in photos above. They have placed a huge diesel pump into that stream that pulls directly off on the second pond from the huge lake at the Landfill and they are now pumping that water into a recently cleared out field across the street. The photos don't lie.

I have been in contact with Mr. Jim Fineran who stated to me this has to do with the new collector road and not from the lake at the Landfill but I was there, WMDT was there and quite frankly, this water is being pumped as a result of water from the lake at the Landfill, period.

There was a ton of rain over the weekend and something strange is going on? What I can tell you is, they cut off the path to the River and used huge pieces of equipment to do so. I'm going to make another trip half way down stream and see if the flow has been restricted. If it has, I'll have my answer.

I should be fair and state the following, which came directly from Jim Fineran. Keep in mind, this is what he has been told. "I have been reassured that today’s water moving has nothing to do with your (or 47’s) story. It is part of the prep for the West Side Collector Road. It should be over by tomorrow…Wednesday latest."

Thanks Jim.

POCOMOKE Mayor McDermott Tells Tattler, Commissioner Cowger & Councilman Clarke to Back Down… All Is Well in Pocomoke City We Have It Under Control…

Talk about out of control and jumping the gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!Whew!

For the record, Mr. Burke, Comm. Cowger, and Councilman Clarke,

The recent homicide of Mr. Niblett did not occur in the City limits and, as such, is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office/State Police.

The recent homicide of Ms. Wojcik, likewise, ocurred outside of the city (actually beginning in Somerset County) and, as such, was investigated by the Sheriff's Office/State Police.

The Pocomoke Police Department placed a detective in the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation on January 1st of this year. Since this was done, two significant crimes ocurring inside the city have been solved: Major Theft from Walmart over $20,000.00-arrest made; Armed Robbery at the Duck Inn-Arrest made within three hours of event.

In return, the bureau has been greatly assisted by Pocomoke Police in the Wojcik homicide case, as well as the current homicide investigation of Mr. Niblett.

Pocomoke City has not had a homicide in the corporate limits for many years (for which we should all be thankful).

Your local police work alongside of the members of the bureau as well as other state and federal agencies while investigating various criminal matters. Our record against criminals is excellent. The homicide rate in Worcester County is one of the lowest in the state and averages less than three per year. We have had years with no homicides in the county, and years with multiple homicides in the county.

Commissioner Cowger has his job to do for Worcester County, and I have my job to do for the citizens of Pocomoke City. While my phone is always on, I see nothing productive about pitting government against government. I also do not believe this city should be held responsible for acts occuring outside of our corporate limits.

The Pocomoke Mayor and Council are directly responsible for public safety funding for our corporate residents and the overall direction that funding takes.

Commissioner Cowger is directly responsible, with the other Commissioners, for the public safety funding for those living in Worcester County, and particularly the non incorporated areas.

Can we have a little intellectual honesty in this discussion, or should Pocomoke City be blamed for the Ocean City bridge closure too?

Mayor Mike McDermott

New York Governor Spitzer Linked To Prostitution Ring

The New York Times is reporting that Governor Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved in a prostitution ring.

Spitzer is scheduled to make an announcement Monday afternoon. Spitzer, 48, is married and has three daughters.

What did I say earlier about taxes?????

In a recent interview Governor Spitzer told reporters that he "acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family."

"I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself," he said. "I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family."

The Governor apologized to his family and the public on Monday at a hastily called news conference.

Ocean City HOOTERS Manager Dies

Although there's been nothing said locally about the HOOTERS Manager who passed away last week in Ocean City, I've been informed Mike Baylis has in fact passed away.

Michael Thomas Baylis

Michael Thomas Baylis, age 42, died Monday, March 3, 2008. Born on February 25, 1966 in New Jersey he was the son of Suzanne Baylis (nee Idell) and the late Thomas H. Baylis.

Michael had worked in the Restaurant business all his life, and most recently had been the operations manager at Hooters Restaurant in Ocean City for many years. He was a graduate of Smyrna High School in Smyrna, DE in 1984, and had attended Wesley College in Delaware. In his early years Michael played football and lacrosse.

There's no mention of how he passed away but I'm told by a friend that allegedly there was drugs and alcohol involved?

Tax Rebate

This morning President Bush said each one of us would get a $1200.00 tax rebate. It was previously slated to be $1400.00, but they dropped it to a $1200.00 tax rebate because of various budget problems.

Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart,all the money will go to China , if we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India . If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs.....and none of these scenarios will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America .....so the only way to keep that money here at home is to drink beer, gamble, or spend it on prostitution. Currently it seems that these are the only businesses still left in the U.S.

Estate Planning

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune.

One evening at an investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man," he said to her, "but in just a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars." Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother. Women are so much better at estate planning than men

Would YOU Pay $2 Mil For Property Assessed Less Than $100K?

Wicomico County Would! While this property has been the subject to massive criticism over the past year, many have wondered if the Good Old Boy System is still going strong?

The perks don't matter to the County, since they want to allegedly create a Park here. However, you have to ask yourself, do YOU want the County to salvage someones bad investment? Come on Realtors, where's the comps on this one?

Why do I get the feeling there's going to be a ton of comments on this one? Fortunately this was one page not all screwed up in the Daily Rag and I found this little gem.

Oh, conveniently 16 acres are being retained by the owners! I just read 84 acres for sale in Princess Anne for $450,000.00, WATERFRONT and sub dividable! The property Wicomico County is purchasing is 108 acres, NOT waterfront! I'll bet I could go on and on about my own comps.

Tower, This Is Heron 1 Coming In On Runway 1

Holy Cow, My Paper Arrived, But Was It Worth The Wait?

While The Daily Times has been struggling to get our papers out, (you know, the ones we PAY for) on a daily basis, mine finally arrived early but I can't read the damn thing!

We need to nickname Greg Bassett the Six Million Dollar Man?

Time To Get Up

Will Salisbury Lose Another $10 Million This Year?

Will the Tilghman administration misplace more taxpayer funds? Who knows. What we do know is that those great allies of the taxpayer, Salisbury Council members Louise Smith and Gary Comegys are going to make sure that nothing useful will be done to correct the problem.

After paying great lip service to an assembly of angry citizens by assuring them that the Tilghman administration's financial mismanagement of the city would be addressed, both Smith and Comegys have refused to allow any legislation to solve these problems on the council agenda. It appears to be their sincere hope that the public will forget the matter.

For two consecutive council meetings Salisbury Councilwoman Debbie Campbell has offered legislation to begin correction of some of the administration's problems. Smith and Comegys simply aren't interested in correcting the problems. IF the Daily Times ever pressed them on the issue, I am confident that they would claim that "the matter is being worked on", or some other such nonsense. The problem has been worked on (in several work sessions), and the council agreed to a series of steps that needed to be taken. Of course the furor has seemed to die down, so Tilghman's "council leadership" will sit on their hands.

Next month, the budget will be introduced. Smith and Comegys will claim that there simply isn't time to address the problems. During the course of the budget hearings there will be additional money appropriated to give the administration additional bodies, but the problem won't be addressed in time get the audit out on time, or even make sure that accounts are balanced properly prior to the auditors showing up in September.

Why haven't I laid blame at the feet of Salisbury Councilwoman Shanie Shields? It's simple. Shields has actually been an honest broker in this matter. Shanie "I ain't never seen no wasteful government spending" Shields is only interested in spending taxpayer funds. She is on the record stating that she only supports putting more bodies on the government payroll. Solving problems aren't her concern.

Naylor Mill Road in Salisbury, Maryland. During that incident, Ricky

Ford Escort off the roadway by striking it in the rear with his vehicle.
The Ford Escort, in which Joshua Alan Culley was a passenger, came to rest
in a field adjacent to 510 Naylor Mill Road. Neither Culley nor the

Republican Congressional Candidate Andy Harris

Today I will be on two radio shows:

Bill Reddish's show at 7:40am this morning on WICO 1320AM
PowerTalk with Jack Gillen at 11:10am on WQMR 101.1FM

Last week I announced how proud I was to have John McCain as the Republican nominee for President, and to be a member of the John McCain team in Maryland.

The presidential race will play a key roll in voters minds when they go to poll November 4, 2008 to vote both for the President and a Congressman. Who a congressional candidate supports tells voters how they will vote in Washington. Voters have a stark choice between John McCain and the two Democratic candidates - Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Individuals throughout our country have emphasized Clinton's radical liberal agenda is not the direction our nation should head, but she is actually not the most liberal person running for President. Barack Obama has a more liberal voting record than Hillary Clinton.

Both Obama and Clinton have proposed the largest spending increases in US History. Both will support higher taxes. By raising taxes, both Obama and Clinton will send our nation into a recession.

Voters in Maryland personally know that when Democratic candidates promise higher government spending, the result is higher taxes. Martin O'Malley promised to increase government spending and the result was a 1.5 billion dollar tax increase. Clinton and Obama are promising to increase government spending and the result will be every American paying more in taxes.

In contrast, McCain has promised to veto any bill that contains earmarks - wasteful government spending. He has promised time and time again to oppose all tax increases. Tax-payers have a choice between someone who will protect their wallets and someone who will steal money from it.

I have emphasized my support for John McCain. I have promised to oppose every tax increase and all wasteful government spending. My opponent has said he will support Clinton or Obama; neither of which is good for the voters of the first district.

When people are deciding how to vote in this congressional race, they need to look at who each of the congressional candidates are supporting for president. I support John McCain.

Thanks,

Andy

Flashback Movies:"Say Anything"(1989)

Movie poster from "Say Anything",of John Cusacks famous serenade scene.
One of my favorite movies from the fabulous 80's was "Say Anything",a teenage love story between a Lloyd(John Cusack),a wannabe kickboxer and ordinary guy and Diane(Ione Skye),a beautiful and highly intelligent "rich Daddys girl" who has a scholarship waiting for her to study abroad.Of course Dianes father meddles and encourages their breakup and then they get back together and fly off to England at the conclusion.More than anything, the scene where Lloyd stands in front of his beater car(70's Malibu)in a trenchcoat, with his boombox lifted high over his head, playing Peter Gabriels"In Your Eyes" in front of his girls house to woo her back, stands out as a classic movie moment. It spawned many spoofs on shows like "Family Guy" & "South Park",and the "Drew Carey Show" & "Greys Anatomy" and I admit I have a gigantic black & white poster from that scene, identical to the photo above, hanging in our den next to all the beer signs and Giants posters lol.
And its funny to note that in 2008,standing in a girls yard with a loud radio would get you locked up for stalking, nevertheless in this movie,at that time,it was romantic! We have a copy of the movie and whenever we have "date-night" it is a favorite flashback movie.John Cusacks onscreen sister, with whom he lived, was played by none other than his REAL offscreen sister, actress Joan Cusack! If you have never seen it,it plays on WE and AMC networks alot-in fact it airs on AMC tomorrow morning at 9:30 EST!

Why The Pocomoke City Government Appears To Be Openly Corrupt

Now that we have had our Worcester County Commissioner ask for HELP from the people of Pocomoke City in the form of written complaints / requests to stop the drug market and crime wave.

Now that Pocomoke City Councilman Rob Clarke has stated "We need the Sheriff’s Office, WCBI, State Police, FBI, in town. Whatever it takes to straighten this mess out."

It should be obvious that there is a problem in Pocomoke City and it's the head of the problem who has been holding un-elected office for 32-years with NO ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE PEOPLE allowing this to happen in the first place, and he should be removed.

It’s pretty obvious that Russ Blake runs the City with an iron fist and he refuses to address the open air drug market (centered at X-Councilman Canes property) which makes me think that he personally must be profiting from the revenue generated by the drug sales.

X-Councilman Cane has disqualified himself from holding office as he has moved outside of his district to Butlers Village yet dances around a phone bill claiming he still resides within his election district and is qualified to remain seated as a councilman.

Has the Mayor, City Manager or any member of the City Council publicly asked X-Councilman Cane to be a gentleman and step down? NO!

What does it look like when I am sent a certified letter to remove my untagged vehicles within 30-days and X-Councilman Cane tells everyone he is above the law after getting the same letters last December? His crappy cars are still junking up the city with no signs of any enforcement taking place.

What does it look like when everyone in town knows that X-Councilman Cane has moved to Butlers Village, yet is retaining his council seat"

What does it look like when the drug dealers on Fourth Street are more afraid of my big red Excursion than they are of the police?

What does it look like when the City Manager ignores requests from a City Councilman and the Mayor to place the issue of broadcasting city council meetings on the FREE cable network on the council meeting agenda?

What does it look like when the last Chief of Police for Pocomoke City was sentenced to weekends in jail for crimes in office and the city manager was one vote away from indictment by the grand jury, yet he still runs the city with an iron fist? (The Chief then as now only reported to Boss Hogg Russ Blake)

What does it look like when ground zero for Pocomoke open air drug market is some bogus 'business' owned by X-Councilman Honiss Cane who acts as though he is above any law?

It appears openly corrupt!

Can Councilman Rob Clarke as (what appears to be) the only City Councilman with any integrity help the citizens by demanding removal of these criminals?

Will the City Council make a resolution to remove City Manager Russ Blake from office this Monday night?

The average term for a city manager is 4 to 7 years because of the amount of power that can be gathered and with Russ Blake being the only person whom anyone working for the city reports to; I feel he is personally responsible for the open air drug market, police departments refusal to enforce laws and is the root of our problems.

A sitting City Council member has asked to call in the troops, Sheriff, State Police, FBI, everyone but the Marines.

A sitting County Commissioner has asked for help from the citizens making written requests for basically the same thing.

Houston (Annapolis) we have a problem here!

City Manager Russ Blake and X-Councilman Honiss Cane need to be removed from office immediately to prove that action is being taken.

PLEASE COME TO THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY NIGHT AT 7:00 PM TO DEMAND CHANGE BY REMOVING THESE CRIMINALS FROM OFFICE NOW!

School Records Fall and A National Qualifier Is Born at Tech's Last Chance Meet

Blacksburg Virginia,

Delannie Spriggs broke his own school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.84 seconds which qualified him for the National Indoor Track Meet for Division 3 athletes. Spriggs finished 8th overall in the meet and will travel to Ohio Northern University in Ada Ohio for the meet this weekend. Last outdoor season Spriggs was an All-American in the 100m dash by taking 6th place.

Sam Singleton broke his own indoor 400m record with a time of 50.39 as well as breaking Marcus Tines 200m indoor record with a time of 22.42 seconds. Tines was a multi event Capital Athletic Conference Champion while at SU and was one of the best sprinters in SU's history.

Senior Eric Graves concluded the indoor season with a 4:19 mile and 5th place honors. The time was good enough to break his own SU record. Graves was National Qualifier in Cross Country this past fall and looks to stay a strong candidate to qualify for Nationals.

Victoria Lawson was the lone woman to break a school record for the Gulls. She posted a 27.14 in the 200m dash. Lawson as a freshman was an All-American as well for the outdoor season in the 400m dash and was 6th overall in the Country.

For Division 3 athletes for track and field you must qualify through timing standards. Two standards exist; automatic and provisional. Automatic times will get you sent to the meet no matter how many reach that qualifying mark. Provisional times are more like at large bids. If there are not enought automatic qualifiers, the highest of these marks will be sent to the meet by the National Selection Committee for Track and Field.

The majority of the SU teams competed at the annual Home Opener at Salisbury University. The lightning held off and the rain subsided enough for the field events to take place in SU's annual Track and Field Home Opener. The teams who traveled to the Shore included Hood, Shennandoah University, Gloucester Community College, York (PA), Gallaudet, and Southern Virginia University. The meet is un-scored but the athletes fought through the conditions and competed. A full SU Track preview will be up this week.
