Suspect In Custody After Overnight Barricade In Wicomico Co.

(SALISBURY, MD) — A Wicomico County man is in State Police custody this morning after he barricaded himself inside a house overnight, following an armed confrontation with his estranged wife.

The man is identified as Jason Gregory, 43, who since yesterday had been staying at a house owned by his father in the 3600-block of Meadow Bridge Road, Salisbury, Md. He is being charged this morning with two counts each of first degree assault, second degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. yesterday, Maryland State Police at the Salisbury Barrack were dispatched to a home in the 3200-block of Phillips Road, Salisbury, for the report of a domestic situation. The suspect, identified as Jason Gregory, was not at the home when troopers arrived. Troopers learned from his wife that the two were estranged since yesterday when she had asked him to leave. She said he had returned to their home on Phillips Road late last night driving a tractor. She said he was intoxicated and armed with a long gun. Mrs. Gregory stated her husband broke out a sliding glass door and confronted her and a juvenile female. She said he threatened them with the gun and then threatened suicide, before leaving the home stating he would not be ‘taken alive.’

State Police located Jason Gregory at the Meadow Bridge Road address, about 1.5 miles from the Phillips Road home. Knowing he was armed and due to the threats he made, troopers established a perimeter around the home and called for the Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element, or STATE Team, to respond.

Troopers attempted to convince Gregory throughout the night to come out. They called his cell phone repeatedly through the night, but he did not answer. STATE Team members began using the loudspeaker on their armored vehicle and at about 5:00 a.m. today, Gregory responded by yelling out of the house. He refused police requests to surrender and continued to say he was not coming out.

At about 6:30 a.m. today, State Team members deployed tear gas into the residence. Gregory came out of the home unarmed and was taken into custody without further incident.

Jason Gregory was transported to the hospital for an examination. Following his release from the hospital, he will be taken to central booking at the Wicomico County Detention Center, where he will have his initial appearance before a court commissioner.

No shots were fired from the residence by Gregory during the overnight incident. No shots were fired by police.

State Police investigators are obtaining a search warrant for the house where Gregory was located and will be conducting a search later this morning. In addition to the gun Gregory was seen carrying, investigators believe there may be additional firearms in the residence.

Assistance during this situation was provided by a number of public safety agencies. They included the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, the Fruitland Police Department, the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department, the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation, and State Police from the Salisbury Barrack, the Criminal Enforcement Division, and the Aviation Command.

The investigation is continuing.

Salisbury City Council Meeting Agenda & Packet For 11-9-15

With 207 Votes, Ireton's Nipples Are Hard And He Now Wants To Run For Congress

Just a few moments after Ireton announced his victory in downtown Salisbury, he spoke with WBOC about his future and future of the city council. Ireton said it was important to continue to focus on the development of downtown Salisbury, bringing more jobs to the city, and continuing to lower the crime rate. But Ireton also said he may be in another election in the near future.

"It's incredible to have won four elections in the last 16 years. I have traveled all across Maryland telling everyone about the good things that happen in Salisbury. So at this point, we are going to be taking a look at the first district congressional race to find out whether there is an opportunity there," Ireton said.

Ireton said he would make a definitive decision on whether to enter that race in the near future.

We can see why he's so excited after only garnishing 207 votes. In true Liberal fashion, a victory is a victory no matter how embarrassing.

Today's Survey Question 11-5-15

How do you think Jim Ireton would do
in a race against Andy Harris for Congress?

GO HERE for much more.

Yesterday we put up an article referencing your new Mayor Elect who stated he didn't want to talk about crime because it puts a bad light on the City of Salisbury. The numbers above speak for itself. Rather then facing the problem head on, Liberal Leadership would rather shame anyone for even coming close to REALITY or discussing it and guess what, the media does back away as shown below. Even IF crime is down in some areas, we all know most of it is not being reported. You simply get a case number to call your insurance company but there's no official investigation.

Jake Day said... Is crime one of them? "Absolutely not, and that will never be the message. So let’s eliminate that, and not talk about that, and talk about the good things".

Consider this. When you relocate to a community, do you not check out crime stats? Do you see how desperate Salisbury is by NOT investigating all crimes and instead giving out case numbers for insurance companies. By falsifying ALL crimes, Salisbury is misleading people interested in the area. Having a Mayor who refuses to discuss one of the, (if not the) biggest items a community must face is just wrong and many of our viewers firmly agree.

Salisbury News gets labeled as the Anti Christ because we are bold enough to tell the truth. We are not slaves to special interests and or MONEY. When crime does go down, (God willing) we will be first in line to give credit where credit is due. HOWEVER, we have been confronting the crime GROWTH for eleven years now and their answer, stop creating so many cases, send victims to insurance companies and boast about crime being down. I'm sorry but like you, I/We are not believers that crime is anywhere near down and certainly not enough that I/We believe Salisbury is a SAFE place to live, work or relocate both in business and residential.

So let's hear YOUR point of view on Mayor Elect Jake Day's views of not willing to discuss it, law enforcement only giving out case numbers and do you believe crime is actually down.

I'm not the problem. I'm a lifetime observer. Do you really believed she helped the black community. Think about it. There are more poor blacks in this country since the 60's. There are more incarcerated blacks in this country since the 60's. The are more single black women with childrens and most of their kids have different daddies since the 60's. There are more young black men and women in gangs killing one another since the 60's. There are more dysfunctional black families in this country since the 60's. And, their more black children since the 60's in this country who don't understand the hardships they are about to face when they become legal adults and venture out into this world on their own. They have no survival skills which makes them venerable. I am 58 years old. I'm an educated women. I'm also a veteran. I am proud to be Black. One thing I do know is this, black folks today are worst off then they ever have been. Our faith and belief is in shambles. Our self worth is in turmoil. Our true identity is gone because we are so disliked not only by our own people based on color (dark skin, vs light skin, vs want to be white skin) but by other groups as well. Unemployment among us is high. Educational opportunities is low. And, our voting rights, privilege and opportunity is in question. When Dr. Martin Luther King died, his dreams died with him. If Dr. King dreams where still alive; racism, discrimination and hatred would not be the main focus in this country. Everybody including blacks and whites would love one another. But, this definitely is not the case. People like Dolezal and the NAACP have done quite well behind the misfortune of black people. But, have their own achievements improve you or your entire family livelihood. I guess not. Whatever tragedy, broken dreams and denials that has befallen on us as people, they have reap the financial benefits. That's why after all these years of, we shall overcome some day; young, promising, smart, and strong black decendants of slaves are asking themselves, does Black Lives Matter. Ask yourself that. Why in 2015 with a Black man in the white house as the President of the United States, we are asking ourselves, does Black Lives Matter?

BREAKING NEWS: BANK ROBBERY IN SALISBURY

The Bank of Delmarva was just robbed on Eastern Shore Drive.

Talk About A Load Of Crap

Earlier this year WBOC made numerous announcements trying to bring in the Eastern Shore residents together to tell them how you can make their station better.

However, NOTHING CHANGED! In fact, they're now broadcasting not only more northern Delaware news, they're now telling an incredible amount of really stupid national news as well.

They are very rarely covering local stories and quite frankly they conned their viewers into believing they care about what YOU think. Their DOOM & GLOOM story about Perdue yesterday was complete BS. Allow me to explain.

First of all, Perdue told everyone they were making this move 5 years ago. Secondly, NO ONE is losing their job. They're relocating from Salisbury to Delmar. No one needs to sell their home and believe me the Governor of Delaware wanted this facility much further north in Delaware. Perdue insisted they will only go so far as Delmar. This isn't professional journalism, it's shock value crap. They even said Salisbury will lose 200 jobs. Just where in the hell did they get that number? They certainly didn't speak to ANYONE at Perdue. They will relocate 97 employees and they hope to build that part of their business up to 140 employees in the future. WHERE DID THE 200 COME FROM?

Craig Jahelka, WBOC's General Manager needs to apologize to Perdue but more importantly the community for bold faced lies. They're not changing, they're getting a lot worse.

Could This Be The Beginning Of The End For Perdue In Salisbury/Wicomico County?

Perdue has in fact purchased 17 acres in Delmar, DE. on Rt. 13 where they will be relocating some 97 employees from Salisbury to Delmar. Their hope is to expand that business to around 140 employees over the years.

Salisbury News learned that the state of Delaware, (Economic Development) have thrown Perdue a bone they just couldn't refuse and so it begins.

Now here's what I want you to think hard about. They didn't buy a 3 acre parcel, they bought 17 acres. In my honest opinion, I think Perdue is very wise in their decision as they can now hold all that land over the heads of Legislators and yes, even the Governor in Annapolis.

For far too long the state of Maryland has taken advantage of the Poultry industry and Perdue has had their eyes on Delaware and the Carolina's for their future.

ALL of you know I have been preaching for YEARS, it's only a matter of time before everyone gets smart and starts purchasing land in Delmar, Delaware and get the hell out of Salisbury.

Now Perdue is saying that Delaware has been hounding them for many years to make a move and Perdue is starting off with just relocating their Agribusiness Office for starters but 17 acres of land tells me this could be the beginning of the end.

You can try all you want to revitalize Downtown Salisbury and create Economic Development in Wicomico County but again, I said it YEARS ago, the Economic Development, (SWED) needed revitalization years ago and no one listened. Let's see, I think I said, "IT WAS YOUR ELECTION TO LOSE", right?

Fortunately you have a new Governor, (Republican) and a new County Executive, (Republican) and with any hope they'll be able to salvage what's left of Perdue. However, Labinal is now gone and now many employees from Perdue. How much more can Salisbury/Wicomico County take before a total collapse happens.

Oh, that's right. Salisbury can sell off two parking lots and bring in a good 50 to 100 minimum wage jobs at bars and restaurant, I forgot.

NUDE MADNESS:Feds Rule To Force High School Girls to Share A Locker Room With Boys Who Think They Are Girls…

On Monday, the federal government declared itself fit for the madhouse by mandating that a Chicago high school allow a full biological male into the girls’ locker room for all purposes, including nudity. This biological male, the feds determined, was different because he thinks he is a female. The rest of us…that have a brain, are asking HOW COULD YOU EVEN THINK THIS IS OK!?

The feds have ruled that the presence of a twig-and-berries in the girls’ locker room has been mandated by Title IX of the Civil Rights Act. Yes, ladies and gents and non-cisgenders: it turns out that the battle against sexism enshrined in the ill-written Title IX was actually intended to force underage young women to look at the penises and testicles of mentally ill boys.

Progress.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights spent almost two years checking out the Township High School District 211 because of the transgender “girl.” He filed a complaint with the feds in 2013 after the school refused “unrestricted access” to the girls’ locker room. The district eventually agreed to allow the boy into the girls’ room so long as he used a privacy curtain while disrobing.

That wasn’t good enough. The feds determined that this still constituted discrimination. Why? As John Knight, director of the alphabet-soup LGBT and AIDS Project at the ACLU, stated, this was “blatant discrimination.” He explained (well, we think it’s a he, unless he identifies differently today):

It’s not voluntary; it’s mandatory for her. It’s one thing to say to all the girls, “You can choose if you want some extra privacy,” but it’s another thing to say, “You, and you alone, must use them.” That sends a pretty strong signal to her that she’s not accepted and the district does not see her as a girl.

Perhaps the district does not see “her” as a “girl” because “she” is not a she, a her, or a girl. Nonetheless, the Office for Civil Rights agreed, with Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Catherine Lhamon averring:

All students deserve the opportunity to participate equally in school programs and activities – this is a basic civil right. Unfortunately, Township High School District 211 is not following the law because the district continues to deny a female student the right to use the girls’ locker room.

New Salisbury Mayor Jake Day: “We don’t know our own brand, and we haven’t identified it, nor embraced it’

OCEAN CITY – Jake Day burst onto Salisbury’s political landscape in 2012 as the fresh-faced, local golden boy and almost immediately injected a positive energy into a political arena that had been somewhat poisoned by years of divisiveness and stalemates.

He was quickly named Council President after winning his seat on the council, and set his sights on the mayor’s position, he says, within months of being elected to the council.

Salisbury elected Jake Day as its next mayor on Tuesday night, and even though he was unopposed, Day was vigilant in his campaigning throughout the race.

We sat down with Day in a crowded coffee shop in the city’s revitalized downtown area to talk about his future plans, and his vision for the Eastern Shore’s largest city.

Rising Deaths Among White Middle-Aged Americans Could Exceed AIDS Toll in US

Alarming trend among less-educated 45- to 54-year-olds largely thought to be a result of more suicides and the misuse of drugs and alcohol.

A sharp rise in death rates among white middle-aged Americans has claimed nearly as many lives in the past 15 years as the spread of Aids in the US, researchers have said.

The alarming trend, overlooked until now, has hit less-educated 45- to 54-year-olds the hardest, with no other groups in the US as affected and no similar declines seen in other rich countries.

Though not fully understood, the increased deaths are largely thought to be a result of more suicides and the misuse of drugs and alcohol, driven by easier access to powerful prescription painkillers, cheaper high quality heroin and greater financial stresses.

The turnaround reverses decades of falling mortality rates achieved through better medical care and lifestyle choices that continue to improve public health in other groups in the US and in other nations around the world.

“This was absolutely a surprise to us. It knocked us off our chairs,” said Anne Case, an economics professor at Princeton University who worked on the study. Since discovering the trend, Case and her colleague Angus Deaton, also an economics professor at Princeton, have shared the findings with healthcare professionals. “We wanted to make sure we weren’t missing something,” Case said. “Everyone’s been stunned.”

Delmar & Wicomico Schools Have A 2 Hour Fog Delay Today

Worcester County has a 1 hour delay.

Another School Resource Officer Arrested, This Time for Punching Teen Without a Hall Pass in the Face Twice

What is it with school resource officers these days? What an Orwellian title.

SRO Ben Fields was recently fired for slamming a teen girl down in her desk and throwing her across a room because she wouldn’t leave the room after getting in trouble for being on her cell phone.

Now, Master Sgt. Thomas Jaha has been arrested on a charge of assault for punching a 16-year-old student without a hall pass in the face not once, but twice at U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City.

The 16-year-old boy did commit the high crime of being in the hallway without a hall pass. When Officer Jaha caught him coming out of the bathroom, the officer yelled at the student, warning him to return to the assembly going on at the time. The student stopped to get a drink of water at the water fountain anyway, and that’s when Jaha appeared to go ballistic, punching the student twice in the face.

All of it was caught on camera.

Man Was Watching Truck With Confederate Decal On It. When Group Of Black Men Approached, Things Got Violent

Shock video uploaded online shows a group of black men attack two white individuals Sunday in a Salt Lake City parking lot after a verbal altercation over a truck’s Confederate flag decal.

KSTU-TV reported that authorities said the incident, which took place outside a Red Lion Hotel early in the morning, could be investigated as a hate crime.

The violence unfolded after Kelly Leeper, who was watching his friend’s truck, noticed a group of black men near the vehicle. Leeper said there was about $50,000 worth of welding equipment in the back, KSTU reported. He went outside with his friend to check on things.

But that’s not what appeared to bother the men. It was the truck’s Confederate flag decal that caught their eye.

Rachel Dolezal Admits She Was Born White, Still Identifies As Black

Rachel Dolezal, the former head of the Spokane NAACP who made a career out of claiming she was black until she was exposed last summer, finally recognized what the rest of the world, including her parents, know: she is biologically Caucasian, or white.

Interviewed on the talk show “The Real,” Dolezal acknowledged biological reality: “I acknowledge, I was biologically born white, to white parents.”

But she didn’t buckle to social pressure, and she continued to say she lives as an African-American. “I identify as black,” she smilingly told the African-America host of the show.

When the panel pressed Dolezal as to whether she had truly experienced what black people do, Dolezal offered, “I think, walking the walk in terms of philosophical, cultural, like what I was talking about in terms of the broader definition, the Pan-African definition of blackness… Is there a singular experience?”

Problems At The Seaford Police Department?

On Monday, Nov. 2nd a dispatcher with Seaford Police Dept. in Seaford Delaware made a very bold and degrading comment that impacted the community and surrounding areas near and far. Her statement pertaining to a Homicide in Dover Delaware was "DPD shouldn't waste another minute or the chance of officer safety on these trashy smucks...... Leave them in the streets eventually the city, street dept, or relative will come along and claim the body....... it's annoying".

She is a dispatcher that is the first point of contact for any emergency call for help. Her bias and insensitive personal feelings (in which she chose to post on social media) really have no place in a profession that provides services for those in the community.

How can citizens feel comfortable and reassured that when they call 911 for help that dispatcher Angie Marie Cowgill will execute her duties accordingly with bias or prejudice.

This could be your child, niece, mother, father etc needing help!

Emergency dispatchers need to have empathy and compassion and truly her statements seen by many does not display that.

If Angie Marie Cowgill is removed from her position within the Seaford Police Department it will give the citizens of an already scarred community a sense of relief knowing that they can call 911 without judgement.

Couple seeks right to marry. The hitch? They're legally father and son

The legalization of same-sex marriage has given way to a new problem for a Pennsylvania couple, who technically are father and son.

Before states across the country began striking down bans on same-sex marriage and the Supreme Court ultimately decided the issue nationwide, some gay couples used adoption laws as a way to gain legal recognition as a family, and the related benefits such as inheritance and hospital visitation rights.

Nino Esposito, a retired teacher, adopted his partner Roland "Drew" Bosee, a former freelance and technical writer, in 2012, after more than 40 years of being a couple.

Now, they're trying to undo the adoption to get married and a state trial court judge has rejected their request, saying his ability to annul adoptions is generally limited to instances of fraud.

Salisbury Voter Turnout A Flop So Far

Salisbury News has just learned there have been a total of around 900 votes cast the entire day so far throughout the entire City.

Will they come out in the masses after work, time will tell. However, I highly doubt it. We predicted a record low turnout last week.

Maybe when all is said and done we can get Governor Hogan to purge to registered voter list and get Jake Day to provide the citizens a real and accurate renter population, which we believe is over 80%. How embarrassing.

O’Malley to roll out 7 proposed anti-gun violence executive actions Tuesday

MANCHESTER, N.H. —Democratic presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley on Tuesday will roll out seven executive actions – including ending gun dealer immunity – he says he would take to curb gun violence if elected.

The plan was obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News' sister station WMUR ahead of its formal unveiling by O'Malley at a Tuesday night “Gun Safety Actions Not Words Town Hall” at the Cheshire County Historical Society in Keene, N.H. O’Malley will also discuss the plan at town halls at the Devine Millimet Branch law firm in Manchester and the University of New Hampshire in Durham earlier in the day.

O’Malley joins Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton in promising to include unilateral executive actions in their anti-gun violence agendas, including ending gun dealer immunity from lawsuits.

But O’Malley’s campaign is calling his plan “the boldest plan” on the issue. The campaign says that as Maryland’s governor he was responsible for signing into law “the most comprehensive gun safety legislation in the nation.”

O’Malley’s plan calls for:

There's Been 160 Votes Cast Out Of 2,800 In District 3 So Far

It never ceases to amaze me just how screwed up Salisbury is.

Your local Media tells you only a very small percentage of registered voters showed up at the polls each election and for the past 14 years, (that I know of) the citizens of Salisbury just think, well, why vote, nobody else does.

Well guess what Folks, that's just not true. If they cleaned up the registered voter list, (which they haven't done in 14 years) you'd probably find that at least 60 to 70% of those people who are actually alive and who actually live at that address actually voted in Salisbury.

So why won't they purge the voter registration list, because the Liberals want to discourage you and make you feel like it won't matter anyway.

So you people just continue to act UN AMERICAN and keep falling for their crap. The next thing we know Hillary will be the next President and you'll have your hands out begging for food and a place to live. Who knows, maybe if you talk nice about Jim Ireton and Jake Day they'll actually allow you to live in one of the thousands of run down section 8 homes of the future in Camden.

Now get off your rear ends and vote for Tim Spies in District 3. 160 votes so far, what's wrong with you people!

Remember that arrest video? Here’s what happens when there’s no police

Last week video footage of a white policeman roughly subduing an unruly black student went viral. The policeman was fired — even though many students (black and white) in the school protested on his behalf.

So what happens in classrooms where there is no security? The Daily Mail says the following video was posted online of a group of U.S. high school students subjecting a despondent teacher to a barrage of abuse and intimidation inside the classroom.

In the short clip, an out-of-control student can been seen throwing things at her, telling her to ‘sit your a** down’ and threatening her with a chair.

The Future Of Salisbury Under Liberal Rule

Above is a picture of an abandoned inner city neighborhood which has been under liberal control for decades.

Rent control will undoubtedly lead to this condition. The owners unable to collect enough rent to cover increasing taxes, vacancy rates, and repairs to damages caused by tenants, will have no incentive to maintain the buildings and keep them occupied. They will be unable to sell them due to a crappy market and they will just sit accumulating tax bills and fines for grass growing between the cracks in the sidewalks. No one wants to live in neighborhoods created by the affordable housing mindset but people who don't pay their own rent and are subsidized by the taxpayer under liberal policy.

Yes, liberals have in fact created the neighborhoods like the one pictured above and will continue to perpetuate the degradation of our communities until every neighborhood has a section the more closely resembles a third world, battle torn country than an American neighborhood.

Get ready Salisbury. It's almost here. Don't agree? Ride down Railroad ave., Martin st., Record st.

Last election you had an opportunity to make a difference. It was YOUR election to lose and you blew it. Now reap the rewards or your poor decisions.

Jim Ireton's Road/Sidewalk To Nowhere

Now if you don't know what or where we're talking about, this brand new sidewalk and curbing is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Salisbury. When I first heard of this and its location I though, WHAT, WHY!

Now all of you who live and work in Salisbury know just how bad YOUR sidewalks and curbing are, yet your current Mayor and Councilman hopeful quietly placed this sidewalk to nowhere and I think you'll agree, it's a smack in the taxpayers face. There was NO sidewalk here to start with and it runs along the railroad tracks for blocks.

Do you people really want a guy like this anywhere near your pocketbooks and wallets? Tomorrow you go to the polls and cast your votes. THINK HARD about what you've had for the past 6 years with Ireton in charge and know it will never end as long as YOU don't make that difference.

Remember, parking lots, (2 of them) sold for $225,000.00. The old Fire Station for $70,000.00. Feldman's for $5,000.00. Salisbury University inundating Downtown taking properties off the tax roll. The Old Mall still sitting there with no progress. The $140,000,000.00 Waste Water Treatment Plant. Swimming in the Wicomico River in 10 years. Let's not forget the new Rain Tax.

Ireton already conned all of you when it comes to the Landlords in Salisbury. He wants you to think he is against them, yet he did nothing to stop the slumlord portion of that Industry, until weeks before an election. Are you really going to buy his con job again?

It just goes on and on. Now you have a sidewalk to nowhere and this proves the man has absolutely NO business experience. Instead, he wants to show improvements in his district area to make it look like he actually cares. Just more talking points.

You and I both know, this neighborhood above is going nowhere any time soon. I can't wait to see how this election turns out. Common sense says very few people like Jim Ireton but you'll always have to wonder, (should he actually get elected) will the electronic ballots fail the citizens of Salisbury once again?

Anti-Islam T-Shirt Goes On Sale At U.S. Military Base, Outrage Follows

An anti-Islam T-shirt was on sale at the Fort Carson military base in Colorado.

According to the Colorado Springs Independent, the offensive shirt was being sold as recently as Nov. 2.

The clothing featured the Statue of Liberty wearing an Islamic burqa with the message: "Don't Let This Happen To America." The star and crescent symbol of Islam appeared on the famous torch.

The T-shirt was sold at a kiosk inside a mall outside the post exchange on the U.S. Army base, notes The Associated Press.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service told the vendor 'Merica Apparel to stop selling the shirt because it violated military rules against merchandise with religious or political messages.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation told AP that one of its clients had filed a complaint about the T-shirt.
