Child Dies In Crash With Tractor-Trailer UPDATED 11:00 PM

Smyrna – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is currently investigating a fatal crash that has claimed the life of a male child. Members of the Smyrna Police Department were dispatched to the crash on Glenwood Avenue at the intersection with School Lane in Smyrna tonight at 6:10 pm and discovered a tractor-trailer and a bicyclist were involved in the crash.

Because of the fatal injuries sustained by the child in this crash the Delaware State Police CRU team was contacted by Smyrna PD and asked to handle the investigation. DSP investigators have learned an 18-wheel Tractor-Trailer was traveling westbound on Glenwood Avenue approaching School Lane.

A small male child was riding a bicycle northbound on School Lane approaching Glenwood Avenue. The tractor-trailer was traveling through the intersection when the bicyclist failed to stop at a stop sign on School Lane and entered the intersection striking the rear of the trailer. Consequently, the bicyclist crashed causing the rear tires of the trailer to travel overtop of the child.

The child died of injuries sustained in the crash. The operator of the tractor-trailer was not injured. He was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is not a factor. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours and has since been reopened.

Note: The names of those involved will be released once next of kin notification has been made.

Update on Smyrna Fatal Crash

The Delaware State Police are providing additional details surrounding the fatal crash that occurred earlier this evening in Smyrna. The child that died in the crash was Christopher T. Foote Jr., 5 years old of Smyrna. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the tractor trailer is Vaughn E. Wilson, 42 of Suffolk, VA. He was operating a 2005 Freightliner owned by Snyder National Trucking Company. The trailer was loaded with freight from Wal-Mart. No charges have been filed in the crash.

Empty Promises

There is a lot of talk about the proposal to cut health benefits for the city council members in Barrie Tilghman's proposed budget. Is it vindictiveness on her part? Did she make this proposal as a last swipe at Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen? Once again, she has managed to divide the citizens while exacting revenge against those that would oppose her.

City council members are compensated $10,000 annually for their service. As with any job that offers health care coverage, the council members can choose to opt in or out of the program. Three of the council members, Shanie Shields, Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen chose to accept the coverage that is offered. Shanie cost the taxpayers for insurance for four years when she was already covered. Why? Suddenly she is concerned about the cost to the taxpayers? Debbie Campbell's employer reimbursed the city for 3 years of her coverage, until the economy tanked.
It should also be known that the city does not pay for family coverage, they only pay for the elected official. Those opting for the coverage must pay the additional expense, this does not come out of our pockets.

Shields, Comegys and Smith did not opt to make this cut while Shields was still choosing to accept the coverage offered by the city. Listen as Louise goes on to say she's not impacted by this cut because she is insured by the taxpayers in Florida. Gary won't be affected either, he's covered by YOU, the taxpayers in Maryland. Who is Shanie's other insurer? Is Shanie also covered by YOU and every taxpayer in the state of Maryland through her deceased husbands state insurance?

Comegys goes on and on about part time versus full time, yet he is getting benefits from the city for having been a volunteer. How many volunteer organizations offer retirement benefits? Does the Red Cross offer retirement benefits to volunteers?

Louise Smith says "We" (the council) "have to make sacrifices", but the only people who will be sacrificed are Campbell and Cohen and their families. Notice there are no other cuts in the council budget that affects them all equally, like travel, like Bill Holland did. No, they are only sacrificing what hurts Debbie and Terry personally. Bill Hollands travel budget cut doesn't hurt him or his employees personally.

You want to talk about sacrifices Louise? Gary and Shanie wouldn't donate any of their council salaries for the police when Debbie Campbell offered to. I seriously doubt Louise would give up any of that $12,000 she is paid to warm the seat of council president. Again, the only thing the three of them are willing to sacrifice are Debbie and Terry. How about cutting some of those feeding at the trough lunches and dinners Gary attends?

How nice of Louise to try to use Terry Cohen's own words (distorted) to justify cutting Cohen's children off from health coverage. Especially while Terry wasn't there to defend herself because she was at her mother's funeral. I have to wonder if Terry Cohen thinks that's an accurate repeat of what she said? Here's a hint Louise, the operative word is "PLAN".

Gary said there was nothing "mean spirited" about what they were doing. Uh, nobody said anything about it being mean spirited, is your conscience feeling a bit guilty, Gary? Gary Comegys also accused Debbie Campbell of campaigning against Michael Day getting insurance. That NEVER happened. While I'm thinking of it, is Michael Day still insured by the city for working his one day a week at the Park & Flea?

This is a group that has made no meaningful cuts to the budget in all their time on council, but now they do this? It's just a distraction to keep the public from looking at the waste such as the Hazmat trailer. You know, more big toys for big boys, and problems at the WWTP that Comegys campaigned was his proudest accomplishment, even though it's still not operational.

What are the consequences of cutting this benefit to the future? We only get candidates like Barrie Tilghman who are wealthy enough and have families in the insurance business? We only get taxpayer funded retirees like Smith & Comegys? We only get people who are "taken care of" by others like Shields?

Whether you think city employees should get benefits or not, whether you think elected officials should get benefits or not, there is no question Barrie Tilghman cut health coverage from the budget and Smith Comegys and Shields refuse to reinstate it to embarrass and personally punish Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen and their families.

Show up at the public hearing and stand up for the only two council members who continue to stand up for us.

Salisbury Man Sought For Burglary Charges

Laurel – The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Salisbury man and a Laurel woman for a burglary that occurred at a home on Woods Avenue in Laurel on or about April 24, 2009.

The investigation began after the victim contacted police on April 26 and informed them their home had been burglarized. The victims were out of town from the 24th to the 26th and when they returned they discovered the burglary. Specifically, the front door to the home had been forced open.

Once inside the home the culprits stole various rifles, shotguns, DVD’s, electronic equipment and jewelry. During the investigation, police were contacted by a concerned citizen on April 26 and informed that Tabar L. Ames, 21 formally of Salisbury, MD was in possession of a rifle that he did not own and sold it to an unknown person. As police continued the investigation, they learned that Mr. Ames and an associate, Christina L. Ambrose, 20 of Laurel were residing at a home Cherry Lane that is in the same development as the home of the burglary.

Police contacted the homeowner and learned that Ambrose and Ames were temporarily staying with them and sharing a room together. While police were at the home, they discovered in their bedroom DVD’s, BB Guns and various pieces of jewelry that matched items stolen in the burglary. Once this information was obtained, the victims were informed of the identities of these persons and the victims informed police that they were familiar with the pair and that both have been in their home recently.

State of the Republican Party: Fatal Attraction

from Delaware Liberal

Rule #1 when having an affair is to never let the wife find out about the mistress. Silly, because it rarely works out that way - especially if your mistress is a crazy person intent on destroying your marriage. That said, shame on you for juggling love interests, and shame on you for whispering sweet, contradictory lies in each one’s ear, confident that the two would never meet… and compare notes.

Wondering how this relates to the Republican Party? Let’s take a look…

Moderate Republicans are the wives of the party. They were not only reliable votes, they were also trotted out to demonstrate a respectable, steady relationship that deserved recognition. Sorta like… He can’t be all bad, look at who he’s married to. They were also taken for granted and ignored. Moderates became the ultimate trophy wives - decorative and useful when needed, placed on a shelf and told to be quiet when not.

The Far Right are the party’s mistresses. For years they were wooed and pacified with promises that one day their love would leave his wife and marry them. During this time they came to view the wives as the enemy, the sole reason why their lover wasn’t free to be with them. Whatever sympathy they may have felt for the unsuspecting wife vanished, replaced by an absolute certainty that the wife was to blame for their lover’s broken promises, that she was responsible for holding him back. Read: He can never be what he was meant to be as long as he’s saddled with her.

Think I’m off the mark? Then watch the video DV posted last night. Chris Matthews asks Rep. Mike Pence (R) if he believes in evolution. Pence can’t answer the question. Not because he doesn’t have a response, but because he knows that both his moderate “wife” and conservative “mistress” are watching, each waiting for what they consider the right answer.

But the biggest problem for the Republican Party is the fact that the wife has found out about the mistress and is threatening to walk. He’s now beside himself, facing the loss of credibility and respectability he has taken for granted. He’s desperate for things to return to the way they were before. So not happening. For you see, the mistress is thrilled with this turn of events. She’s anxious to take her rightful place at his side, and won’t lose a moments sleep over kicking the wife out the door.

All snark aside, I think this accurately sums up the situation facing the GOP. Whatever choice they make someone will be left feeling betrayed. Right now, they’re desperately trying to make both sides happy. (Like that’s gonna work.) The it’s her or me time has arrived - as was inevitable. In the short term, buckle up for a lot more Spence type non-answers. In the long term… my money’s on the mistress, because even if she doesn’t hold onto him, in the end she’ll make damn sure that if she can’t have him, no one will.

SCORE THIS ONE FOR THE PEOPLE OF WICOMICO COUNTY – FOR NOW!

Yesterday’s unexpected defeat of the effort to stifle cluster development in Wicomico County represents a major victory for liberty and stunning loss for the proponents of “big brother” government, including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the local power-structure that operates under the umbrella of the Greater Salisbury Committee. The four members of the County Council who stood fast against them – especially Gail Bartkovich, Joe Holloway and Stevie Prettyman – deserve praise, as does John Cannon for being “better late than never.”

The three members who supported the land-grab did not distinguish themselves by directing their sour-grapes statements at the majority. Both Ms. Sample-Hughes and Mr. MacLeod objected to the fact that some members who oppose the Bill refused to be listed as its sponsors, as if that were reprehensible, and cast other aspersions upon those members. Those who were not there should check PAC 14’s rerun schedule for the meeting.

The prize-winning whiner was Bill McCain. After criticizing the majority for not devising a means to compensate landowners for the loss of development potential, McCain-1.mp3 he then berated everyone for not offering another solution. McCain-2.mp3

Surely he is well aware of the proposal put forth by Wicomico County Concerned Landowners, which can be reviewed on that group’s website: www.wicomicocountyconcernedlandowners.com

Two sound bites from McCain’s spiel are presented FYI. The man is a maestro at finger pointing.

But we have not seen the last attempt to seize property rights from local landowners. The CBF is well-funded, and it can be expected to strike again. And then there are the NIMBY’s who operate under the umbrella of the “Wicomico Environmental Trust” guided by ideologues like Michael Pretl, and, of course, the Maryland Department of Planning and Martin O’Malley. The Daily Times will never print the facts – for example, that there have only been 263 lots created in cluster subdivisions in the 11 years since they were first permitted under the zoning code – but will simply spout whatever those groups say (or pay to have circulated) to distort the truth.

The fat lady has not yet sung, folks!

SOCIALISM

An economics professor said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that....

Former Governor Erlich Comes To Salisbury

Bob Erlich was welcomed by a nice crowd of people at SU last night. He spoke of Republican values and took several questions from the audience.
I took the time to ask the former Governor if he would be interested in running again and he replied, Interested, yes. However, I just don't know yet. He felt the political environment had to be right for him to make a firm decision.
Bob Erlich is a strong supporter of Senator Andy Harris and attended several of his Forums during his run for Congress.
For what it's worth, Maryland needs a man like Bob Erlich for Governor again. O'Malley, while a nice man, just can't seem to get finances in order and spending is out of control. This democrat versus republican crap needs to end. Politicians need to come together for the best interest of the Citizens that voted them into Office.
I guess it's nice to have certain values to stand behind but how can all these politicians not understand that the master plan in the end is about what's best for everyone. It's kind of like the North against the South. The more powerful one party gets, the worse off this Country becomes.
Then there's the party no one ever seems to mention, the Bitch Party. I want new schools. I want better roads. I want more shopping. I want a better job. I want more pay. I want no growth. I want more trees. I hate the smell of chicken sh!t. Oh, did I mention these same people want lower taxes too?
It was nice to see Bob once again, he's a fine gentleman. However, until I hear a politician say he wants to work For The People and Unite the People, I'll just say I like Bob and his wonderful Wife. We need change, that's a given. However, politicians should be a different breed of people, they should be just like you and I.

India Has Highest Number Of Underweight Children

India's higher economic growth has not translated into a superior nutritional status for the country's women and children, as the country houses the highest number of underweight children globally, the World Bank has said. "The prevalence of underweight children in India is among the highest in the world," the bank said in its publication, 'The World Bank in India'."Despite experiencing unprecedented economic growth during the last decade, South Asia, including India, has the highest rates of malnutrition and the largest numbers of undernourished in the world," it said.

Citing estimates by the World Health Organisation (WHO), it said about 49 per cent of the world's underweight children, 34 per cent of the world's stunted children and 46 per cent of the world's wasted children, live in India. The prevalence of malnutrition varies across states, demographic and socio-economic groups, with scheduled tribes and scheduled castes ranking highest among all."Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand have the highest malnutrition rates," it said, adding that even in urban areas, a third of the children are underweight."Over the past decade, progress in reducing malnutrition in India has been limited; in fact anaemia has increased," it said.
Meanwhile, in the United States....

A Comment Worthy Of A Post

Agriculture IS Wicomico County-it's the look, it's the economy and its the ideals. Unfortunately developers and realitors have tweeked the thoughts of farmers to make them believe their properties won't be worth a dime. Not the case at all! Look at surrounding Counties with more strick development densities-they aren't hurting at all. In fact their land values are HIGHER than Wicomico County's! People criticize the use of the term "Rampant development"-it might not seem like it now in this economy, but take a stroll down Pemberton Drive or Nanticoke Road 15 or 20 years ago...now take the same route today-you wouldn't even recognize it! Just because development isn't taking place now doesn't mean that it hasn't been a problem.

IMO, I think that if farmers and such land owners what to keep their "developable" land values then perhaps they should pay the taxes on their land as such. Where is it fair that farmers get the tax cuts for ag land and farming all this time, but then can flip it for a monster profit? I bet if the County started taxing the A1 land at the value farmers desire then they would quickly change their tune about this legislation.

The street runs two ways. While I don't think that the legislation proposed yesterday was the best that it could be, I think that people will begin to realize that if written properly with a fair compensation, we will see a better use of the lands in this County. Unfortunately, the compensation will never be fair-too much will drain the County's proposed tranfer tax (or whatever is decided to use to pay out compensation) funds and too little will divide the County. WCCL had some great points for the proposed legislation; however they need to be involved with this committee to reach an agreement as much as possible. It will have to be a joint effort and compromise. There are hundred, if not thousands of farmers in our community that truly enjoy cultivating and working off their land-I would hate to see that go away just because they can make some quick bucks by selling out to a developer. I would hate to see these young farmers that want to buy land miss out on the opertunity that those people "selling out" took for granted.

While I am not a farmer and I do not own more than a 1/2 acre of land myself, I see the value of agriculture in this County. I've already seen how much can be lost. I know it is not my land, it is your's-All I would like to see is cooperation and some sort of compromise as this moves forward. Something is going to happen, but we shouldn't divide this County as a result.

Joe, my suggestion to you, since you are highly influential and have this blog for a great information source, start a thread where folks can voice their opinion as to what an acceptable compromise would be. Moreover, what would be an acceptable compensation measure? I would suggest that this not be a debate, but instead just bounce ideas so that this appointed committee can use them to help come to a reasonable solution. I would like to see it moderated in such a manor that all opinions are respected but criticism would not be allowed. Let's work together for a solution so that we can preserve the rural nature of our County on everybody's terms.

Thank you

Salisbury City Council Works On Budget

I took this photo yesterday as the City Council works day in and day out on Mayor Tilghman's Budget.

While I normally don't like to head in this direction, there is something I'd like to mention to everyone. The Fat Man continues to rag on Councilwomen Terry Cohen and Debbie Campbell referencing Mayor Tilghman demanding all Council Members no longer receiving Health Insurance. The Fat Man feels they don't deserve it because he claims it's a part time job.

Now, where did he get such an idea. Well, Gary Comegys, Louise Smith and Shanie Shields have all stated it's a part time job for them. Gary even went public with the Daily Times and said so. Now, I can't speak for those three Council Members, I(since they did so for themselves) but I will say that Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen do in fact put in full time hours being Council Members and not one person here can deny that fact.

What truly ticks me off is that the Fat Man is sucking YOU the taxpayer dry by collecting disability from the State. He's also getting state medical benefits and it's been reported he lives in section 8 housing. Talk about a hypocrite! Oh, did I forget to mention that he's also Blogging at taxpayers expense, yet he can't seem to work a full time or part time job anywhere else. He collects a check, ON YOU, for sitting on his fat A$$ attacking Debbie and Terry and acting as the voice for three Council Members and the former Mayor and some have even suggested that Mike Dunn writes for his Blog.

What I also find ironic is how the former Mayor put Michael Day on the City's Health Insurance AFTER he was removed from the City Council. Now do you understand what I meant by a FOB? Her spite, (once she was leaving Office) was to take away any benefit Debbie and Terry might have. When things we so desperate last year for Police Officers in Salisbury, why didn't Gary, Shanie and Louise offer to drop their health insurance then?

Anyhow, I support paying for their health insurance through the taxes I pay in the City of Salisbury and considering just how big Terry & Debbie won in their elections, I believe the taxpayers feel they deserve it as well. Remember Folks, these Council Members work for all of us. They are supposed to make decisions based on our best interests. If they had given everyone fair warning about such a vindictive move, I'd say fine. However, there was no warning and quite frankly I don't believe they can actually legally follow through with taking away these benefits. I'll get back to you on State Law hopefully tomorrow.

It's time the SPD Snitch be reported for every meeting he attends and let the disability people know just how mobile and capable he is of at least working a desk job. After all, he is being paid by you to trash Debbie & Terry. I wonder if he has a desk on the 3rd floor?

Next On Senate Agenda? 'Pedophile Protection Act'

'Hate crimes' law definitions would protect 547 sex 'philias'
By Bob Unruh© 2009 WorldNetDaily

The leader of a pro-family organization says families across the nation need to contact their U.S. senators now to try to derail a legislative plan that already has passed the U.S. House and is being awaited by President Obama – after a Democrat confirmed it would protect "all 547 forms of sexual deviancy or 'paraphilias' listed by the American Psychiatric Association."

WND columnist Janet Porter, who also heads the Faith2Action Christian ministry, today cited S. 909, dubbed the "Pedophile Protection Act," as an extreme danger to America.

As H.R. 1913, the House version of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act bill, the plan was adopted on a 249-175 vote, but not before several amendments were proposed by Republicans trying to mitigate the impact of the law.

Democratic Sens. Edward Kennedy and Patrick Leahy immediately introduced a matching plan in the U.S. Senate, and activists say a vote in committee could come as early as tomorrow.

The proposal, also called the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act after a Wyoming homosexual who was killed in a horrific robbery and beating in 1998, creates a special class for homosexuals and others with alternative sexual lifestyles and provides them protections against so-called "hate."

It specifically denies such protections to other targeted classes of citizens such as pastors, Christians, missionaries, veterans and the elderly.

Barry's Colonoscopy Journal

I called my friend Andy Sable, a gastroenterologist, to make an appointment for a colonoscopy.

A few days later, in his office, Andy showed me a color diagram of the colon, a lengthy organ that appears to go all over the place, at one point passing briefly through Minneapolis .

Then Andy explained the colonoscopy procedure to me in a thorough, reassuring and patient manner.

I nodded thoughtfully, but I didn't really hear anything he said, because my brain was shrieking, quote, 'HE'S GOING TO STICK A TUBE 17,000 FEET UP YOUR BEHIND!'

I left Andy' s office with some written instructions, and a prescription for a product called 'MoviPrep,' which comes in a box large enough to hold a microwave oven.

I will discuss MoviPre p in detail later; for now suffice it to say that we must never allow it to fall into the hands of America's enemies.

I spent the next several days productively sitting around being nervous.

Then, on the day before my colonoscopy, I began my preparation.

In accordance with my instructions, I didn't eat any solid food that day; all I had was chicken broth, which is basically water, only with less flavor.

Then, in the evening, I took the MoviPrep. You mix two packets of powder together in a one-liter plastic jug, then you fill it with lukewarm water. (For those unfamiliar with the metric system, a liter is about 32 gallons). Then you have to drink the whole jug. This takes about an hour, because MoviPrep tastes - and here I am being kind - like a mixture of goat spit and urinal cleanser, with just a hint of lemon.

The instructions for MoviPrep, clearly written by somebody with a great sense of humor, state that after you drink it, 'a loose, watery bowel movement may result.'

This is kind of like saying that after you jump off your roof, you may experience contact with the ground.

MoviPrep is a nuclear laxative. I don't want to be too graphic, here, but: have you ever seen a space-shuttle launch? This is pretty much the MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you wish the commode had a seat belt. You spend several hours pretty much confined to the bathroom, spurting violently. You eliminate everything. And then, when you figure you must be totally empty, you have to drink another liter of MoviPrep, at which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet.

After an action-packed evening, I finally got to sleep.

The next morning my wife drove me to the clinic. I was very nervous. Not only was I worried about the procedure, but I had been experiencing occasional return bouts of MoviPrep spurtage. I was thinking, 'What if I spurt on Andy?' How do you apologize to a friend for something like that? Flowers would not be enough.

At the clinic I had to sign many forms acknowledging that I understood and totally agreed with whatever the heck the forms said. Then they led me to a room full of other colonoscopy people, where I went inside a little curtained space and took off my clothes and put on one of those hospital garments designed by sadist perverts, the kind that, when you put it on, makes you feel even more naked than when you are actually naked.

Then a nurse named Eddie put a little needle in a vein in my left hand. Ordinarily I would have fainted, but Eddie was very good, and I was already lying down. Eddie also told me that some people put vodka in their MoviPrep.

At first I was ticked off that I hadn't thought of this, but then I pondered what would happen if you got yourself too tipsy to make it to the bathroom, so you were staggering around in full Fire Hose Mode. You would have no choice but to burn your house.

When everything was ready, Eddie wheeled me into the procedure room, where Andy was waiting with a nurse and an anesthesiologist. I did not see the 17,000-foot tube, but I knew Andy had it hidden around there somewhere. I was seriously nervous at this point.

Andy had me roll over on my left side, and the anesthesiologist began hooking something up to the needle in my hand.

There was music playing in the room, and I realized that the song was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA. I remarked to Andy that, of all the songs that could be playing during this particular procedure, 'Dancing Queen' had to be the least appropriate.

'You want me to turn it up?' said Andy, from somewhere behind me.

'Ha ha,' I said. And then it was time, the moment I had been dreading for more than a decade. If you are squeamish, prepare yourself, because I am going to tell you, in explicit detail, exactly what it was like.

I have no idea. Really. I slept through it. One moment, ABBA was yelling 'Dancing Queen, feel the beat of the tambourine,' and the next moment, I was back in the other room, waking up in a very mellow mood.

Andy was looking down at me and asking me how I felt. I felt excellent. I felt even more excellent when Andy told me that It was all over, and that my colon had passed with flying colors. I have never been prouder of an internal organ.

5 Kittens Need Homes

We came home one night to find a beautiful pregnant black cat sitting on our front porch. We gave her some cat food and she hung around. A couple of weeks later she ended up having her kittens under our house, and right before one of the last really cold nights we had we brought them all inside and they have been there ever since.

However we cannot keep them, our house is just not big enough for all of them and they need to find a loving home. The kittens are about 1 week away from being adoptable, They have just started eating cat food. They are free to a good LOVING home. They are all very sweet and have great personalities! Mommy cat is very loving and loves attention. She also knows how to use a litterbox.

If anyone is interested or has any questions please feel free to give us a call.

Will I Live To See 80?

Here's something to think about.

I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned 60.)

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'

'Oh no,' I replied..

Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?

'I said, 'Not much... My former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'

'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling, dancing?'

'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'

'No,' I said.

He looked at me and said,... 'Then, why do you even give a sh!t?
