Salisbury MSP Press Release 9-16-18 (Burglary/Theft/MDOP)

Ocean City Maryland Hurricane Florence Damage

My Wife Jennifer and I would like to thank Governor Hogan for his state of emergency warning as well as the Town of Ocean City pretty much throwing every business off guard, (including their own) during this popular Bike Week event in Ocean City. My Partner Rod and I would also like to thank WBOC for their totally screwed up forecasts, scare tactics on probably on purpose false predictions for this hurricane that never came.

Because of all of you, hundreds of millions of dollars were LOST as many decided not to come to Ocean City. Because a major majority are sick of these forecasters and chose to come anyway, we say, SCREW YOU!

Nevertheless, a small pine tree branch did in fact fall from one of my trees, so maybe they were right after all. IDIOTS! Because WE didn't fall for their BS, we went full steam ahead and guess what, well, the images in the post below this one will tell you we did just fine.

Bike Week Ocean City 2018, It's Not Over Just Yet!

Good Sunday Morning to all of you. While we continue to hear the roar of motorcycle engines here in Ocean City this morning, the party isn't over just yet.

On the final day, (Sunday) Trader Lee's hosts a "Locals Party" to thank everyone. No doubt about it, we had the biggest Bike Week celebration/party we've ever had. Many bars either closed their doors or saw very little traffic compared to Trader Lee's. The Convention Center got off to a rough start after they closed the Inlet parking lot. What happened was, they didn't apply for a transfer for their liquor license and were not allowed alcohol sales for a day or two, ugh! nevertheless, it was ultimately straightened out but we enjoyed being one of the only bars stocked and ready to go.

Once everyone got to see the entertainment, well, that's all it took to keep everyone coming back for more. Our staff is unbelievable and have truly worked their tails off. As fast as we could bring the beer in it was being sold and the cycle continued for 15 hours straight per day.

Just as important Rod and I want to thank all of the people who patronized Trader Lee's. Today we'll throw an incredible party with Live Music and great drink prices. We swing our doors at 11:00 AM.

Finally, On Friday we handed out 1,900 Trump 2020 Flags and we only had 100 flags left for Saturday. I was pulling flags off my golf cart last night as people continued to come in asking where they could get a flag for their bike. It's been a great time and it has certainly worn me out. I'll pop a Ibuprofen this morning and head back in for some more body punishment. If your not busy today, pop in and have a good time.

Breaking News: At least 14 people are dead and rivers are rising fast as Tropical Depression Florence continues to swamp the South

The storm has sped up, leaving less time for its drenching rains to saturate the places in its path.

Early Sunday, the death toll increased to at least 14, and the authorities braced for another day of widespread rainfall and flooding.

A City Employee/Volunteer Speaks Out About Salisbury Maryland Folk Festival

I was part of the "bucket brigade". In my 8 hour shift I collected $9.34, a bus token, and a tract from some religious organization. Some of my cohorts collected nothing, said the spectators advised they had already given. Wonder who will pick up the tab? By the way I am a city employee not a civil servant and was strongly advised to volunteer or suffer the circumstances. In the three days I worked 21 hours at the festival, had to buy my own food and not even supplied with water. Go Jake!!!!!

Salisbury Maryland Mayor Jake Day Totally Delusional and A Liar

Day says there was about 67,000 to 75,000 people in attendance over the three days.

When are you people going to finally STOP these left wing liberals from flat out lying to your face, or are you people really just that stupid? How about WMDT flat out publishing this load of crap!

WBOC flat out pulled all the comments from anything to do with the Folk Festival posts on Facebook.

That's right, people saw for their very own eyes the event was a complete flop and your local media had to cover it up and take away YOUR First Amendment Rights by trashing your comments.

Sorry but you people are just plain stupid. That's right, I said it. You keep allowing complete BS shoved down your throats and do nothing about it. Every day that passes while allowing these rights removed or lies right in your face means you continue to become passive and ultimately YOUR children will learn to LIE and guess what, it will be OK because everyone else does it.

Jake Day is a LIAR and can no longer be trusted as a human being.

A Viewer Writes: Salisbury's Community Failure

This festival had a lot of potential.

Lets for a minute look past the organizational and strategic failure of it. The fact that there were only 30+ bands, insufficient shelter, no seats.

They posted live broadcasts of these amazing musicians and only 2 - 15 people were viewing it online. One of the final blues acts and they played for an hour.

This isn't just Jake's failure. This is a community failure. I have never before lived in such a community so afraid to live life, so afraid of something new, so afraid of change.

Yeah, Well Attended My Butt!

I guess if we too started cropping pictures like others have we too could make it LOOK busy. However, SBYNews is the Anti Christ for delivering the TRUTH instead. Face it, the Salisbury Maryland National Folk Festival Sucked.

Situation At East Salisbury School

A teenage girl has allegedly hanged herself at the East Salisbury School in Salisbury. From what I've been told so far, she was not a student there.

Leftists Caught Uprooting US Flags at Veterans Cemetery — Urinating on Them — HERE ARE THEIR PHOTOS

On Monday George Gatteny was driving near the Somerville Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Massachusetts when he noticed a man pulling miniature flags from the ground in the veterans cemetery.

Gatteny then saw the man urinate on the US flags that he threw on the ground.

George Gatteny took photos of the wet US flags in the cemetery.

Salisbury Maryland Taxpayers Got Folked

This as at Marquise Knox, an amazing blues band and no one was there. (above)
They were so dumb, they forgot to put up lighting for the main stage. They were forced to close it down. They could've rented lighting to illuminate that area, but didn't.

I could not believe the hype the local media was creating for this event while it was happening but I hope all of you caught what they were saying, HUNDREDS of people, not thousands or tens of thousands. They continued to repeat there were only hundreds.

Incompetent, that's your Mayor and every city official involved in this event. Many were saying the Mayor completely lucked out that it rained and went on to say they had prayed for clear skies because Day wouldn't have any excuses for this massive failure.

Day and Heath need to be terminated. Taxpayers lost MILLIONS of dollars for this piece of crap event. Call me negative all you want, it sucked. We had more people last night in Trader Lee's then this piece of crap event. Guess what, WE MADE MONEY! I'll guarantee I brought in more money from the sale of tee shirts these past few days then they brought in from the bucket brigade BS.

Here's the final difference. It was MY MONEY at risk, not the taxpayers. "It was your election to lose".

Serena Williams Fined $17,000 For 3 Code Violations In U.S. Open Final

Naomi Osaka claimed her first Grand Slam title on Saturday after defeating Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4, in the final of the U.S. Open. With the victory, Osaka became the first Japanese woman to win a Grand Slam singles title.

Williams was looking to win her 24th Grand Slam singles title, which would have tied her with Australia's Margaret Court for the all-time record. Williams lost after receiving multiple penalties from Chair Umpire Carlos Ramos — including a point penalty for breaking her racket, and then a game penalty for arguing with Ramos and calling him a "thief."

The game penalty came as a culmination of an on-going argument between Williams and Ramos. Earlier in the match, Ramos handed down a warning for coaching following hand gestures from Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

Williams responded by telling Ramos: "If he gives me a thumbs up, he's telling me to come on. We don't have any code and I know you don't know that, and I understand why you may have thought that was coaching, but I'm telling you it's not. I don't cheat to win. I'd rather lose."

Attorney General Frosh Files Lawsuit to Protect Marylanders from the Trump Administration’s Sabotage of the Affordable Care Act

Attorney General Frosh Files Lawsuit to Protect Marylanders from the Trump Administration’s Sabotage of the Affordable Care Act

BALTIMORE, MD – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh filed alawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland against the Trump Administration, seeking a declaratory judgment that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is constitutional and the federal government must stop taking actions to dismantle it. Elimination of the ACA would imperil the health of millions of Marylanders, wreak havoc on our state budget, and destabilize the Maryland’s health insurance markets and health care system.

Michelle Obama Teams with BET to Urge 'Women of Color' to Vote: 'We Lead, People Follow'

Former first lady Michelle Obama is joining forces with Black Entertainment Television to urge women of color to vote in the 2018 midterm elections.

“We’ve all seen the difference we can make when we choose to cast our ballots and we’ve seen the consequences when we don’t bother to show up to the polls,” Obama, who serves as co-chair of the national nonprofit effort When We All Vote, says in the one-minute clip.

The former first lady asks women to assist with registering their friends and family so they may be eligible to vote on Election Day. “Women of color know how to get things done for our families, our communities, and our country,” she says. “When we use our voices, people listen. When we lead, people follow.”

"I'm Gonna Get Him": Maxine Waters Can't Sleep, Wakes Up Enraged At Trump

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D) is having bouts of insomnia thanks to President Trump, reports the American Mirror.

Speaking at the Stonewall Young Democratic Club of Los Angeles, Waters covered a variety of topics, beginning with her July comments urging her supporters to to harass Trump administration officials in public places in July.

“There are those who said we lacked civility when I got up and talked about the President’s Cabinet, and I said if you see them anywhere, if you see them at a restaurant, if you see them in a department store, even at a gasoline station, just tell them you’re not welcome here or anywhere,” she said to wild cheers.

“And so, it frightened a lot of people, and of course the lying president said that I had threatened all of his constituents,” Waters said.

“I did not threaten his constituents, his supporters. I do that all the time, but I didn’t do it that time,” she said. -American Mirror

Waters then said of Trump: "When I compare what you’re doing with what we have in Washington, D.C., in the highest office in the land, I wake up in the middle of the night and all I can think about is I’m gonna get him."

Cartoonist Slammed As 'Racist' For Serena Williams Cartoon Stands His Ground, 'Herald Sun' Backs Him

Australian cartoonist Mark Knight was hit with massive backlash for depicting tennis superstar Serena Williams' US Open meltdown on Saturday in a cartoon for the Herald Sun.

Knight was immediately knocked as racist and sexist for drawing an angry Williams with exaggerated features stomping on her tennis racket with a pacifier nearby on the court. In the background, the chair umpire is shown asking 20-year-old Naomi Osaka, "Can you just let her win?"

But Knight is refusing to apologize and standing by his drawing, as are his colleagues at the Herald Sun. "It had nothing to do with gender or race," the seasoned cartoonist explained in a video for the paper.

Dianne Feinstein Refers a Kavanaugh Matter to Federal Investigators

WASHINGTON — The senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee referred information involving Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, to federal investigators on Thursday, but the senator declined to make public what the matter involved.

Two officials familiar with the matter say the incident involved possible sexual misconduct between Judge Kavanaugh and a woman when they were both in high school. They spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

The statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California came a week before the Judiciary Committee is to vote on his nomination. “I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” Ms. Feinstein said in a statement. “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

Salisbury Fire Department Awarded $1.5 Million SAFER Grant

Publishers Notes: This is the same program the city had once before and then after the grant dried up they had to terminate all but 2 of the ones they had hired.

The City of Salisbury Fire Department is pleased to announce that it has been named a recipient of a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant in the amount of $1,527,738 from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the hiring of additional firefighters. The SAFER grant is intended to help municipalities and local fire departments improve their staffing and deployment capabilities in order for them to respond to emergencies more effectively.

The SAFER grant is awarded for a period of three years. The grant will pay for 75 percent of the salary and benefits for each of the additional firefighters in the first and second year of the grant; the third year of the grant funds 35 percent of salary and benefits.

"We are excited that we have been selected to receive this highly competitive grant and for the opportunity that it brings to the City and its citizens by placing these additional firefighters on duty," Fire Chief John Tull said.

The Fire Department will present this award notification to the City Council and seek their approval to accept the awarded grant funds. SFD previously secured the same grant in 2012, and was able to hire all of the grant-funded firefighters on to permanent positions with the department.

Owners of Virginia winery stunned after overnight thief snags almost entire grape harvest

ROANOKE, Va. — An illicit nighttime harvest this week stripped Montgomery County’s Firefly Hill Vineyards of almost its entire crop of grapes, co-owner Allison Dunkenberger said Wednesday.

“We still can’t wrap our heads around this … We’re just in the grieving process,” Dunkenberger said about the loss of her family’s grapes mere hours before she, her husband, and friends and relatives were to begin trimming the fruit from carefully tended vines.

Whoever took the grapes had to have been someone who knew something about the winery’s operations — the grapes are not visible from nearby North Fork Road, she noted. But who? “It’s not a cutthroat industry,” Dunkenberger insisted.

Tiny U.S. Island is Drowning. Residents Deny the Reason

Few of us could find Tangier Island on a map. A tiny sliver of mud and marsh grass in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay, it is one of the most isolated communities in America. But many of us, if we are lucky, will have tasted its most famous product, soft shell crab, a delicacy that has made the island famous worldwide. But as Earl Swift explains in his new book, Chesapeake Requiem, the future for the island, and numerous other low-lying communities across the world, is not looking bright, as a result of rising seas due to climate change.

When National Geographic caught up with the author at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia, he explained how religion is a source of succor for the islanders, why, though their island is disappearing under their noses, they voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, and how they then found themselves in the vortex of a media storm.

You say Tangier Island is “a community unlike any in America.” Put it on the map for us; explain what is so special about it.

Miss America contestant slams Trump: He's caused a lot of division

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A contestant in the Miss America pageant says President Trump “has caused a lot of division” in the nation.

Madeline Collins, Miss West Virginia, was asked an onstage question Friday night about what she feels is the most serious issue facing the nation.

She replied, “Donald Trump is the biggest issue our country faces. Unfortunately he has caused a lot of division in our country.”

The interview responses were limited to 20 seconds and Collins did not go into additional detail. The Miss America Organization rejected a request from the Associated Press to make Collins available for an interview after Friday night’s competition had ended.

She did not win the interview contest. That honor went to Miss Massachusetts Gabriela Taveras, whose question dealt with how Americans traveling abroad should interact with people in other countries.
