Notice he called it the TRUMP shutdown.

City of Salisbury to Lend Hand to Employees Affected by Government Shutdown

Salisbury –
Mayor Jake Day has announced that the City of Salisbury will defer water and sewer utility billing, and will not disconnect or charge any late fees for employees of any closed federal agencies during the Trump shutdown.

The exact number of federal employees and contractors affected by the shutdown in the City of Salisbury is unknown. There are currently 296 federal employees in Wicomico County, including federal contractors. As of Wednesday, January 16th, the shutdown has reached its 25th day, with no end in sight.

“Citizens should not have to worry about basic life necessities like water,” said Mayor Day. “It is my sincerest hope to provide some small relief during this uncertain time.”

In order to qualify, citizens will need to verify their employment with a closed federal agency. Beginning Thursday, January 17th at noon, the online application will be available at www.salisbury.md/billing-deferment

Across the nation, restaurants, corporations, and local and state governments are providing extra support to help their customers weather the shutdown. Mayor Day is encouraging local utilities, mortgage companies, and landlords to look at ways to lessen the impact of this shutdown on federal employees and contractors.

For more information on billing deferment for furloughed federal employees, please call 410-548-3115.

Specifics:

Eligibility: Any property owner who is a federal employee (or has a tenant that is a federal employee) Bills with “Bill Date” or “Due Date” during the shutdown period can be deferred for 6 months after the shutdown.

Interest: No interest or penalties will be charged

Cut Offs: No cutoffs due to unpaid bills during the shutdown period

Federal Government Shutdown Affecting 172,000 Marylanders Resulting in $778M in Lost Wages

Closure costing Maryland $60 Million in tax revenues every two weeks

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -
With its large number of federal employees and contractors, Maryland’s economy is being profoundly impacted by the ongoing government shutdown, according to a report released today by the state’s Bureau of Revenue Estimates (BRE).

Approximately 172,000 Marylanders are currently impacted by the government closure, which began on Dec. 22, 2018. Each bi-weekly payroll for which these residents are not paid results in $778 million of lost wages, which translates to roughly $57.5 million less in combined state and local income tax withholding, and $2.1 million less in sales tax collections.

“These estimates demonstrate what we already knew -- the unnecessary shutdown of our federal government is having a devastating effect on Maryland’s families and our state’s economic well-being,” said Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot. “Even if some employees do eventually get repaid, our economy will not be made whole and changes to long-term spending habits may cause further harm.”

The uncertainty surrounding the shutdown -- how long it will last and if it will happen again -- will also likely reduce business investment, according to the Bureau of Revenue Estimates report.

Between 230,000 and 245,000 Marylanders are federal employees; since some agencies are funded through other budget appropriations, about 90,000 Marylanders are either furloughed or working without pay, according to the BRE report. It is estimated that roughly half of the state’s 164,000 federal contractors are impacted by the shutdown. Many of these workers are unlikely to be repaid once the government reopens, so state and local tax collections would suffer from their lost wages.

The full BRE report can be viewed here.

Caribbean Joe's Will Open Its Doors In West Ocean City Tomorrow

For months now I have been working diligently to open my own Bar/Restaurant in West Ocean City. Tomorrow I can very proudly say we will swing the doors at 11:00 AM.
"Remember the Alamo"?

Caribbean Joe's is located directly on Rt. 50, formerly known as the Alamo. I dedicated the last four months completely renovating this entire facility making it extremely comfortable for women but not uncomfortable for men. We have seven flat screen TV's and a sound system to die for. Don't miss the balance of football games, including the Superbowl.

We will start off with a Bar Menu through the winter months and then expand to an incredible menu. I have a $30,000.00 Country Pride Smoker, allowing us to create incredible smoked and BBQ food. Caribbean Joe's is also a swimming pool bar as well. It doesn't end there. I have TWO bars and another kitchen in the back of the facility that will open this summer. We will provide All You Can Eat Crabs and Shrimp. A professional Volleyball Court and two professional horseshoe pits.

For now I will open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM. I have to go now, I have a job to do. See you this weekend!!!

Sharpton Heavily Courted by 2020 Democrats, Will Hold Off Endorsement for a Year

Al Sharpton is being heavily courted by Democrats seeking his endorsement as they pursue the 2020 presidential nomination, but he said he won't make a decision on who he'll support for at least a year.

The liberal civil rights activist and MSNBC host has met with a flurry of possible 2020 contenders in recent weeks, including Sens. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.), Cory Booker (D., N.J.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.), and he's planning to speak soon with former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D., Texas), the Atlantic reported.

Sharpton has become a mainstream figure in the Democratic Party, in sharp contrast to his early days as a fiery, jumpsuit-wearing racial antagonist, known for his invective against Jews and thepolice.

Gillibrand will speak at a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration put on by the National Action Network, a non-profit organization founded by Sharpton, next Monday. Former Vice President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will join Sharpton in Washington for a NAN event that same day.

Sharpton said he is open to supporting Biden and Bloomberg, who have rankled some progressives due to their respective support for a 1990s crime bill blamed for high incarceration rates of African Americans and the "stop-and-frisk" policy in New York City.

Dianne Feinstein Pushes Ban on 205 Commonly Owned Semiautomatic Guns

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is pushing to ban 205 commonly owned semiautomatic firearms.

The various firearms, pistols among them, are to be prohibited under the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, introduced by Dianne Feinstein.

On January 10, 2019, Breitbart News reported that the ban was focused on commonly owned semiautomatic firearms and “high-capacity” magazines.

Feinstein announced on Twitter: “Americans across the nation are asking Congress to reinstate the federal ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. If we’re going to put a stop to mass shootings and protect our children, we need to get these weapons of war off our streets.”

A press release describing the ban explains that Feinstein is gunning for 205 specific commonly owned semiautomatic firearms. Additionally, she calls for a ban on any “assault pistol” that weighs more than 50 ounces, and she seeks a ban on “assault pistol stabilizing braces that transform assault pistols into assault rifles by allowing the shooter to shoulder the weapon and fire more accurately.”

4 Simple Questions from an Attorney

Here are 4 Simple questions from an attorney.....

Are there ANY logical answers? Do obvious facts mean nothing even though this is past history?

You be the judge

Here's what I would like to know. If the TRUTH ever comes out and it is decided that Obama was never eligible to be president, what happens to all the laws he signed into being and all the executive orders?

Should they all be null and void?

Here are 4 Simple questions from a reputable attorney..... this should really get your "gray matter" to churning, even if you are an Obama fan.

For all you "anti-Fox News" folks, none of this information came from Fox. All of it can be verified from legitimate sources (Wikipedia, the Kapiolani hospital website itself, and a good history book, as noted herein). It is very easy for someone to check out.

4 Simple Questions.......

1. Back in 1961 people of color were called "Negroes." So how can the Obama birth certificate state he is "African-American" when the term wasn't even used at that time?

2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961 and Lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, Right? At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama's father was born in "Kenya, East Africa."

This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth, and 27 years after his father's birth. How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet exist?

Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the "British East Africa Protectorate." (check it below)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_%28http:/en.wikipedia.. org/wiki/Kenya%29

3. On the Birth Certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital."

This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "KauiKeolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home" respectively.

The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged. How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?
(CHECK IT BELOW)

( http://www.kapiolani.org/ women-and-children/about-us/ default.aspx )

Why hasn't this been discussed in the major media?

4. Perhaps a clue comes from Obama's book on his father. He states how proud he is of his father fighting in WW II. I'm not a math genius, so I may need some help from you. Barack Obama's "birth certificate" says his father was 25 years old in 1961 when Obama was born. That should have put his father's date of birth approximately 1936 - if my math holds (Honest! I did that without a calculator!) Now we need a non-revised history book-one that hasn't been altered to satisfy the author's goals-to verify that WW II was basically between 1939 and 1945. Just how many 3 year olds fight in Wars? Even in the latest stages of WW II his father wouldn't have been more than 9 years old. Does that mean that Mr. Obama is a liar, or simply chooses to alter the facts to satisfy his imagination or political purposes?

The voice of an ignorant generation

The majority of American Millennials identify as socialist, according to surveys by both Reason-Rupe and the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. That’s the bad news. The good news is that just 32 percent of Millennials can define socialism. The frequently-wrong but never-in-doubt freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., may indeed be the voice of her ignorant generation.

During an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” Anderson Cooper asked Ocasio-Cortez, “When people hear the word socialism, they think Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela. Is that what you have in mind?” He neglected to mention the vicious socialist regimes of Cambodia, Ethiopia, Poland, Romania, North Korea, and China, among others.

Ocasio-Cortez retorted, “Of course not. What we have in mind—and what of my—and my policies most closely resemble what we see in the U.K., in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.”

In fact, her economic proposals bear little resemblance to British and Nordic public policy.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ignorance of economics and foreign affairs typifies her generation. Despite holding expensive degrees in both Economics and International Relations from Boston University, Ocasio-Cortez threw up her hands in exasperation during an interview on Margaret Hoover’s “Firing Line” program, laughing, “I’m not the expert on geopolitics.”

California's New Governor Proposes Taxing Drinking Water

Just when you think California cannot possibly come up with more things to tax, the new governor, Gavin Newsom, decides to tax drinking water. In Newsom’s first budget proposal on Friday, the communist included a tax on drinking water.

The new budget, titled “California for All,” declares drinking water a “fundamental right,” yet proposes to tax that “right.”

“The Budget includes short-term measures to bring immediate relief to communities without safe drinking water and also proposes an ongoing sustainable funding source to address this problem into the future.”

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the details of the proposed tax are unknown, however, a similar proposal was abandoned by then-Governor Jerry Brown last year after failing to garner enough support in the legislature. According to Breitbart, critics have already slammed the plan. Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Travis Allen is urging fellow Republicans to “take back” the state on social media, and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association and the Association of California Water Agencies are saying that the state should tap into its budget surplus to pay for the needed clear water supplies.

Auntie Maxine Wants CBS to Assign Black Reporters for 2020

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said she will continue to press CBS News to assign black reporters to cover the 2020 presidential election.

Waters met with representatives of the network news after first expressing concern on Twitter about the lack of black reporters assigned to cover the White House run.

She had tweeted on Monday: “CBS, the efforts on your website about your support for diversity fly in the face of your display of all of the reporters you've selected for the 2020 campaign. Not one Black. What's up with this? An explanation is needed.”

She followed up that tweet with another on Tuesday night.

Pelosi Slams DHS Claim Of Being Prepped For SOTU: ‘I Don’t Care What They Said’

WASHINGTON—House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters Wednesday night she “doesn’t care” if the Secret Service said it was prepared to appropriately secure the State of the Union address despite the partial government shutdown.

Instead, she stood firm in her resolve to delay the January 29 event until the government completely re-opens.

In a letter to President Trump, Pelosi claimed the lack of funds to Homeland Security posed a risk to the White House and the Congress during the event, but the Department of Homeland Security Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen released a statement refuting that. She shared that statement in a Tweet:

SFD Receives DHS Grant for SONAR and FLIR Systems

SFD Receives DHS Grant for SONAR and FLIR Systems

The Salisbury Fire Department has been awarded an FY 2018 Port Security Grant in the amount of $42,577.00 from the Department of Homeland Security for enhanced maritime operations. The grant covers two projects which includes a Side Scan SONAR system and a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) RADAR system.

Side Scan SONAR is a device that is dragged underwater behind or alongside a marine vessel. It is able to provide an understanding of the differences in materials and texture type of the riverbed. It is commonly utilized to detect debris items and other potentially hazardous obstructions which can’t be seen from the surface. It may also serve to find wrecks, bodies of drowning/near-drowning victims, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) devices, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and is often utilized in evidence collection, such as weapon or drug searches.

Forward-Looking Infrared RADAR (FLIR) cameras utilize sensors to detect infrared radiation typically emitted from a heat source to create an image assembled for video output. FLIR is utilized by boat pilots to steer their vessels at night, in fog, or in any reduced visibility situation.

The Port of Salisbury falls under the command of the Port of Baltimore Sector which identified vulnerability gaps in its Port-wide Strategic Risk Management Plan (SRMP). The projects will allow the Salisbury Fire Department to enhance its marine operational capabilities to provide protection to the Port of Salisbury; especially with regard to nighttime domain awareness and will be available to provide assistance to fire departments in the surrounding region. The individual units will also provide assistance to the Salisbury Police Department (SPD) and Natural Resources Police when requested.

The equipment allows the SFD to meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents through its capability to “see” into the darkness to find victims of accidents and/or criminal suspects (when requested by Law Enforcement). It also allows the Department to meet NFPA 1925: Standard on Marine Firefighting Vessels.

The $42,577.00 award represents 75% of the project’s total cost and the equipment is expected to be installed and in service by March of 2019.

Documents Detail Pelosi’s $185,000 CODEL to Italy and Ukraine in 2015

Judicial Watch says it obtained documents through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Air Force detailing$134,587.81 plus $50,000 for an advance of funds for an “escort officer” for a total of $184.587.81 for then-House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) Congressional delegation (CODEL) to Italy and Ukraine in 2015.

The documents show that from July 30 to August 6, Pelosi took a trip to Milan, Rome and Naples, Italy, and Kiev, Ukraine, for herself, her husband, several members of congress and their spouses. The Italy trip included Milan, Rome and Naples with visits to the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Duomo and viewing Da Vinci’s “Last Supper.”

The documents also show the Air Force’s negative response to a Pelosi staff request for a specific crew for Pelosi’s flight. An official notes that it: “would be a disastrous precedent to set even if it were possible.” The Air Force further points out: “Our ARC crews have plenty to balance already with military duties and their civilian employers.”

The documents also detail a CODEL trip for Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), who traveled commercial flights to Asia, including Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan; Seoul, Korea; plus Beijing and Hong Kong, China. This trip, with flights and per diems, cost at least $26,009.03.

“Speaker Pelosi has a demonstrated record of abusing the perks of office that give her access to military luxury travel paid for by taxpayers,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Judicial Watch previously uncovered that Pelosi’s military travel cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over one two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.

Are You Suffering From Toxic Masculinity? Know The Warning Signs

More than 40% of men today suffer from it---and their loved ones pay the price.

It's called "toxic masculinity," and it's the latest disease to plague the nation. It can affect every aspect of a toxic man's life. Worst of all, toxic masculinity is contagious, so if you're infected, you need to know right away so you can avoid spreading it to your friends and family.
Are you or a loved one suffering from toxic masculinity? Know the warning signs so you can seek help:

  • Even the faintest whisper of facial hair - If you have a mustache, schedule a check-up. If you find a goatee on your face, consider going into the emergency room. If you have a full-grown beard, well, it's probably too late for you.
  • A belief that men and women are at least a little bit different - Should you be infected with the cancerous idea that men and women are even the slightest bit different from one another, you could have toxic masculinity. If you're a woman who believes this, then you suffer from an even worse disease called internalized misogyny.
  • Throwing a professional wrestler off a steel cage right through the announcer's table - Men who suddenly look around and find that they're tossing a professional wrestler off a steel cage to plummet right through the announcer's table are at high risk of developing toxic masculinity. If a man in your life is suffering from this symptom, encourage him to stop wrestling in the WWE immediately.
  • Eating meat on occasion - A disease like toxic masculinity can quickly change your diet. If you find yourself leaving your vegan avocado quinoa toast smoothies untouched in favor of wolfing down some bacon-wrapped bacon, you might have toxic masculinity.
  • Holding the door open for a woman once in a while - It looks innocent enough: a woman approaches, and you hold the door so she doesn't have to open it again. Seems like common courtesy, right? WRONG. It's one of the first warning signs of toxic masculinity, and you need to do better if you're going to beat this thing. One way to reduce your toxic masculinity is to slam the door right in a woman's face and scream, "EQUALITY!!!" through the glass when she glares at you.
  • Yelling stuff about freedom and charging into battle wearing blue face paint - If you find yourself charging into battle against the English wearing blue face paint in the 14th century, you might be beyond medical help. Do all of society a favor and get yourself drawn and quartered so no one else catches this contagious illness.
  • Being a man who doesn't hate himself - This is the most telling sign. If you're a biological male and you don't hate yourself, toxic masculinity is already coursing through your veins. If there's going to be any hope of recovery, you need to begin hating yourself today.

Stacey Abrams: ‘I Wouldn’t Oppose’ Non-Citizens Voting in Local Elections

Stacey Abrams said she would not oppose the extension of voting rights to non-citizens in local elections, offering her remarks in a Friday-aired interview on PBS’s Firing Line with Margaret Hoover.

Abrams ran for Georgia’s governorship as the Democrats’ nominee in 2018 and is the Democrats’ former leader in Georgia’s House of Representatives.

Abrams predicted demographic change would benefit the Democrat Party. She blamed “voter suppression” for her electoral defeat in Georgia’s governors’ race, describing the election as “stolen from Georgians.”

Cummings on Oversight Role: 'We've Gotta Hit the Ground' Flying

House Oversight and Reform Committee chairman Elijah Cummings plans to make the most out of his subpoena power after two years of what he described as being stonewalled by Republicans, the Baltimore lawmaker told CBS' News "60 Minutes" during an interview that aired Sunday.

"We've gotta hit the ground, not running, but flying," he told CBS' Steve Kroft.

As chairman, Cummings has the power to initiate investigations or call hearings and has the authority to investigate whichever topics he chooses. He also has subpoena power.

Georgia TA: 'Some White People May Have To Die..."

University of Georgia (UGA) teaching assistant wrote Wednesday on Facebook that “some white people may have to die for black communities to be made whole in this struggle to advance to freedom."

He added that to suggest otherwise is “ahistorical and dangerously naive.”

UGA philosophy TA Irami Osei-Frimpong made the comment during a conversation on the Overheard at UGA Facebook page. The comment has since been deleted. Osei-Frimpong claimed in May 2017 that Facebook suspended him for quoting from an article which detailed how Texas A&M professor Tommy Curry had said “in order to be equal, in order to be liberated, some white people may have to die.”

“Killing some white people isn’t genocide; it’s killing some white people,” the UGA TA explained in a Medium post.

“We had to kill some white people to get out of slavery. Maybe if we’d killed more during the 20th century we still wouldn’t talk about racialized voter disenfranchisement and housing, education, and employment discrimination. This should not be controversial.”
