Hurricane Warnings May Change

The National Weather Service may change its hurricane warnings following Superstorm Sandy. A spokesman said it could start issuing watches and warnings for storms that threaten life and property, even if they aren't technically hurricanes or tropical storms. Some have criticized the agency's silence on Superstorm Sandy. The National Hurricane Center stopped issuing warnings when Sandy weakened from a hurricane to a storm. Even though it was just a storm by the time it hit land, it has left billions of dollars in damage. Some say residents might have taken more precautions if they had understood how bad a superstorm could be.

NSA WHISTLEBLOWER EXPLAINS CHILLING INTERVIEW: ‘EVERYONE IN THE U.S. IS UNDER VIRTUAL SURVEILLANCE’

William Binney, a whistleblower at the National Security Agency (NSA), had his life turned upside down after revealing to the public just how much information the United States government is gathering on its citizens.  He says the most recent wave began after September 11, 2001, but that it has only accelerated in recent years.
A 32-year veteran of the agency, Binney had the title of senior technical director and was considered one of the foremost mathematicians and code breakers in the business, according to a documentary featured in the New York Times.  He quit, however, after the NSA started using programs it had developed to spy on foreign governments, to spy on Americans.
He has not been silent since his resignation, and is warning Americans from every platform he can find.  He recently gave a chilling interview to Russia Today, and then spoke with TheBlaze TV.
With Russia Today, Binney reiterated how the government is collecting information on everyone, not just national security risks and suspected national security risks.  Then, if you become a target “for whatever reason,” he explained, ” the government can go in– or the FBI, or other agencies of the government– they can go into their database, pull all that data collected.”
And with hundreds of thousands of pages of regulations these days, you are doing something wrong.

Census Bureau To Release New Web Tool – “Easy Stats”

Just in time for the release of the American Community Survey five-year estimates, the U.S. Census Bureau will release “Easy Stats,” an online tool developed to make statistics quicker and easier to access.

The interactive tool provides selected demographic and economic statistics from the American Community Survey. “Easy Stats” allows searching by geography down to the local level, including incorporated places like cities and towns and census designated places. View detailed race, age and gender breakdowns, and compare communities. <http://www.census.gov/easystats/>.

In addition, tomorrow the Census Bureau will update its popular QuickFacts site with the new American Community Survey statistics, making it even easier for people to find information about a town, county or state.

Socialism’s Ultimate Tool

If you think for one second that the Federal Reserve System is a Godsend that backstops America’s banks and our economy in times of trouble, you’d be right for that one second.

But if you take any time to learn how the Fed really works and in whose interest they operate, you’d make yourself sick for a long, long time.

The truth about the Federal Reserve is that it’s a dangerous, insidious socialist tool.

Rather than allowing free markets to function as a “clearing mechanism” that rewards success and punishes failure, the Fed fosters underdevelopment of third-world nations, props up corrupt governments, protects the greedy, self-serving banking constituency it serves, and by design promotes socialism to further its mandate to enrich its masters.

I’m sick of the Fed and their control over the U.S. Congress, the American economy, and the world order.

It’s about time the American public revolted against the Fed and our pandering Congressmen who pimp for it, abrogated their Constitutional duties to it, and get rich off it, all the while pretending they control it and it’s some kind of Constitutional safeguard.

IRANIANS PREPARE TERROR CAMPAIGN INSIDE U.S.

'There are numerous Revolutionary Guard cells' inside borders
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is alive and well in the U.S. and the country’s law enforcement officials ignore them at their peril, according to former U. S. Air Force officer Steven O’Hern.

O’Hern says that the Revolutionary Guard, long an influential factor in the radical Islamic regime in Iran, does most of its surveillance and intelligence gathering through its proxy force, Hezbollah, considered by many to be a terror group.

Call The Bluff

I damn near fell of my chair (laughing) yesterday watching Timmy Geithner on CNBC. When asked if the President was willing to go over the fiscal cliff if the tax RATE on the top 2% were not increased, the Treasury Secretary snapped back, “Absolutely”.

Maria Bartiromo was also floored by this; she spent the next hour telling the world she thought Geithner’s position was clear evidence that the US would be going over the cliff. She had big shot Senator, Richard Shelby (R- Al) on air. She showed him the clip with Geithner making an ass of himself; the Senator looked like he had swallowed a wad of tobacco while he watched.

I was convinced that Geithner had made a blunder, a slip of the tongue that would later be clarified or retracted. Not the case. Last evening, Treasury put out a Blog about what a great job Tim did on TV (link) [8]. I took this as a confirmation that Geithner did not make a gaffe on air, his words were carefully chosen. When he said he was “Absolutely” certain that falling off the cliff was in our future if tax rates don’t go up, he meant exactly what he said.

Given that Geithner will be out of his job running Treasury soon, I’m sure that he went on TV with the blessings of Obama, and he had a scripted message from the President. There will be no negotiations on tax rates, the top rate is going to 40%, or we will be sailing off the cliff. What an idiotic bargaining position.

At this point, I don’t think there is any significant opposition to increasing tax revenue from America’s wealthiest folks; the question is how to achieve it. Raising marginal rates is one option; cutting deductions can accomplish exactly the same thing. Geithner and Obama will not consider adjusting deductions; the reasons are a mystery to me. It appears that the President wants to “punish” some folks rather than to find a compromise that achieves the desired results.

So I agree with Bartiromo, unless the President backs off, we are going cliff diving in 20 days.

Easiest Foreign Languages To Learn

More and more Brits are finding their first job abroad.
But how difficult is it to pick up the language?

Anne Merritt reveals the 10 easiest to learn from scratch.
Afrikaans

Afrikaans
Like English, Afrikaans is in the West Germanic language family.

Unlike English, its structure won’t make your head spin. A great feature of Afrikaans, especially for grammar-phobes, is its logical and non-inflective structure.

Unlike English, there is no verb conjugation (swim, swam, swum). Unlike Romance languages, there is no gender (un homme, une femme in French).

Another feature of Afrikaans is its vocabulary, which shares many Germanic-derived root words that are familiar to English speakers.

Vocabulary-building is as easy as pointing to an object and asking, “Wat is dit in Afrikaans?”

QUOTES OF THE DAY 12-8-12

“Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

“I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

“It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.”
George Washington

“Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is.”
Barbara Bush

“I have a higher and grander standard of principle than George Washington. He could not lie; I can, but I won’t.”
Mark Twain

“Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies.”

CHICAGO TEACHERS UNION VP BUSTED PARTICIPATING IN MIDWEST MARXISM CONFERENCE

While a guest on a local Chicago radio show, Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) VP Jesse Sharkey was questioned over his recent participation in the Midwest Marxism Conference and refused to answer why he was there and what relationship the Chicago Teachers Union has with the conference and sponsoring organization, the International Socialists Organization. Sharkey, who was documented by Breitbart News attending the Marxist conference at Northwestern University last month, appeared caught off-guard and struggled to respond to the question.

WLS radio’s Bruce Wolf and Dan Proft had Sharkey on their show to discuss the ongoing school closing battle between the CTU and the Chicago Public Schools. Sharkey had been discussing the Chicago Teachers Union’s network of coalitions that supported the recent teachers strike, when Proft asked him to address the union’s relationship with “revolutionary movements.”

Lawsuit Threat Cancels Christmas Concert

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A threatened lawsuit had put a halt to what's become a Christmas tradition for members of the Moanalua High School orchestra.

For the past six years, the award-winning group and volunteers from the New Hope Church have raised more than $200,000 for a charity that treats poor people in Africa.

But that all came to a halt on Monday when the Department of Education decided to cancel the concert just four days before the event.

In a letter to the Department of Education, Mitch Kahle, founder of the Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of State and Church, took issue with the involvement of New Hope Church, which handles ticket sales and sells those tickets at its services.

"The issue here is an entanglement between a public school and a Christian church," said Kahle.

"And one of the things about the constitution is that it prohibits the involvement of public schools and churches."

What Canada Can Teach The U.S. About Immigration

America's neighbors to the north point the way to economically rational immigration reforms.
Republicans seem ready to play ball on immigration, if only to patch up their image with Hispanics. It would be a pity if this political moment—which comes only once every few decades—was squandered on minor and temporary fixes. U.S. immigration policy needs a fundamental rethinking.
This isn’t as daunting as it appears. For inspiration, Americans need look no farther than Canada.

Canada’s provincial-nominee program, while not perfect, avoids the economically meaningless distinctions between skilled and unskilled workers that bedevil the employment-based U.S. immigration laws. It also puts in place incentives to treat foreign workers not as foes but as friends whose labor and skills are vital to the economy.

Most reforms of the U.S. system under consideration won’t put American employers in a position to make competitive bids to ensure the steady supply of foreigners they need.

Now They Tell Us The Economy Is Weak?

Economy: Little noticed in President Obama's "fiscal cliff" plan is a demand for a huge new stimulus package. Wait! Wasn't he and everyone in the press telling us just before the election how the economy was gathering steam?

In addition to the $1.6 trillion in new taxes on "the rich" that Obama demands, he's also pushing for upward of $255 billion in new stimulus spending for next year - including $50 billion for roads, $30 billion in extended unemployment benefits and various short-term tax breaks.

According to the New York Times, the administration's argument is that "the sluggish economy requires a shot in the arm."And, indeed, the Times paints a rather grim picture of the current economic situation.

US Could Give Every Poor American A Check For $20,000 With The Money Spent On Welfare Last Year…

Long live the welfare state!
(CNSNews.com) – Former Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Tuesday that over a trillion dollars was spent on welfare programs last year, and for that amount, “you could give every single poor American a check for $20,000.”
“Just last year, total federal and state spending on means-tested programs came to over one trillion dollars. What does that mean in practical terms? For that amount of money, you could give every single poor American a check for $20,000 – every man, woman and child,” said Ryan in a speech at the Jack Kemp Award ceremony.

Seattle Now Wants To Pay People To Get Same-Sex Married

have to admit I didn't see this one coming. I should have. But I didn't.
Seattle officials now want to pay people to get married to people of the same sex. Seriously.
Seattle officials want to provide a small, monthly payment to employees in same-sex marriages because they will pay higher federal income tax than married heterosexual couples on medical benefits.

Mayor Mike McGinn was poised to introduce legislation Wednesday to make up for the inequality created by the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which bars federal recognition of gay marriage.

But late Tuesday, the City Attorney's Office advised McGinn that that approach might not be legal...

Mayor Mike McGinn included the money in his 2013 budget recommendation to the council. At a news conference Tuesday morning, he said that providing what he called a "gay allowance for health care" is the right thing to do.

"If the federal government has an unjust law, it's not fair to punish city workers," McGinn said.

Sugar Coated Rice Krinkles: Your Parents’ Favorite 1960s Racist Cereal

That handsome fellow at left is So-Hi, mascot of the now-discontinued Post breakfast cereal, Sugar Coated Rice Krinkles. The same product had another, strangely beautiful name: Sugar Sparkled Rice Krinkles.
It was on the market from the ’50s until 1969, and baby boomers remember it fondly. It was pretty much like Rice Krispies, but covered with sugar. Mmm. It later evolved into the flavored cereals we know and love today as Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles. What Rice Krinkles left behind for us is a collection of what we now consider racist, disturbing, and disturbingly racist marketing materials.

Do Americans Possess The Right Of Self-Determination

Abraham Lincoln, his administration, and members of the U.S. Congress committed treason when they levied war against the Southern states in 1861-1865. This fact is clearly proven by the plain words of Article 3, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution that defines treason as follows:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them , or in adhering to their enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort” (emphasis added).

As in all the founding documents, the phrase “United States” is in the plural, signifying the free, independent and sovereign states. The free and independent states were united in ratifying the Constitution and delegating a few powers to the national government (Article 1, Section 8), while reserving all others for the people, respectively, or the states, as stated in the Tenth Amendment. If the American people were to be the masters rather than the servants of their national government, the only way they could do so would be through political communities organized at the state and local levels. This of course is how the Constitution was ratified – by political conventions of the states, as directed by Article 7 of the Constitution. Since Lincoln never admitted that secession was legal or constitutional, and insisted that the Southern states had never actually left the American union, he knowingly committed treason as defined by the Constitution by invading the Southern states.

Secession and nullification – or the threat thereof – were held to be essential tools in disciplining the central state (See my LRC article entitled “The Secession Tradition in America“). This is the true history of the founding. The Hamiltonian nationalists, however, waged a decades-long propaganda war to rewrite history in order to achieve their objective of consolidating all political power at the national level, thereby destroying America’s constitutional republic and turning it into a militaristic, corporatist empire. Hamilton himself got the ball rolling by telling the outrageous lie that the states were never sovereign but were somehow magically created by the peoples’ masters in the nation’s capitol. This insidious lie was repeated by generations of Hamiltonian nationalists such as Chief Justice John Marshall, Justice Joseph Story, Daniel Webster, and Abraham Lincoln. As part of this Soviet-style rewriting of history the nationalists, beginning with Story and Webster, redefined treason to mean criticism or opposition to the central government – precisely the opposite of the actual meaning of treason in the Constitution. Lincoln used this false definition of treason to “justify” levying war against his own countrymen not to “save the union,” which was a voluntary political arrangement, but to finally realize the Hamiltonian nationalist goal of a consolidated, centralized, monopolistic government in Washington, D.C.

The National Guard Will Continue Manning The U.S-Mexico Border For Another Year

The Pentagon has agreed to supply up to 300 guardsmen to the Department of Homeland Security. The Guard has helped Customs and Border Patrol agents arrest nearly 20,000 illegal immigrants and seize more than 100,000 pounds of marijuana over the past nine months. President Barack Obama authorized the Guard's deployment along the border in 2010. Four times as many guardsmen manned the border at that time. Since then, Homeland Security has ramped up its presence there to more than 18,000 agents. The Guard supports their work mainly through intelligence activities, including air missions.

Breaking Big News From The SBA

Low interest disaster assistance loans available in Somerset County - meeting Thursday to discuss it
Some breaking news on a Friday night to hopefully brighten your weekend.

The SBA has approved a loan program for both businesses AND HOMEOWNERS. Basically, homeowners can borrow up to $200,000 for real estate, $40,000 for personal property, and businesses can borrow $2 million dollars. They are low interest loans – as low as 1.688 for individuals, 3% for nonprofits, and 4% for businesses. They are not grants.

It is actually being done through Virginia. You can read the attached fact sheets.

The Small Business Development Center has arranged for the SBA representatives to make a presentation on this loan program in Crisfield on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Crisfield Fire Department.

We are holding the meeting at the fire hall because we anticipate that there will be a large crowd. (Please note that the original location of City Hall has been changed to accommodate the expected crowd.)
Finally, we have some good news to give people. This isn’t as good as the grant program that FEMA would have provided, but it is a positive thing for the business community.

FEMA Teams Told To 'Sightsee' As Sandy Victims Suffered

Hurry up and wait.

That’s what first responders were left to do after being deployed by FEMA to assist in the storm-ravaged areas in the initial days after superstorm Sandy, FoxNews.com has learned. A FEMA worker who spoke to FoxNews.com described a chaotic scene at New Jersey's Fort Dix, where emergency workers arrived as the storm bore down on the Atlantic Coast. The worker said officials at the staging area were unprepared and told the incoming responders there was nothing for them to do for nearly four days.

“They told us to hurry, hurry, hurry," the worker, who works at the agency's headquarters in Washington and volunteered to deploy for the storm recovery effort. "We rushed to Fort Dix, only to find out that our liaison didn’t even know we were coming.”

“The regional coordinator even said to us, ‘I don’t know why you were rushed here because we don’t need you,'” said the worker, who spoke out of frustration with the lack of planning and coordination following the devastating storm.

After arriving in New Jersey, the worker and others waited for three full days and parts of another, even as reports dominated the television of the devastation and suffering wrought by the storm, which struck land on Oct. 29. When they asked for assignments, they couldn't believe the response, according to the worker.

“They told us to go to the Walmart nearby or to check out the area but told us to stay out of the areas affected by the storm,” the worker said. "If our boss back at headquarters had not been alerted and didn’t make a push to get us assignments, the people running the show on the ground level would have just kept us sitting in the barracks.”
