Club for Growth Releases Two New Ads In MD-01

Reveal’s the Truth about Kratovil’s Liberal Record

Washington – Today, the Club for Growth released two new ads in Maryland’s First Congressional District. The $200,000 ad buy will run on broadcast television in the Baltimore and Salisbury markets (watch ads here).

Both ads are designed to tell voters in Maryland-01 just how liberal and out-of-touch Frank Kratovil is on economic issues. The first ad talks about Kratovil’s support for universal healthcare which could cost taxpayers billions of dollars and put personal healthcare decisions in the hands of government bureaucrats. The second ad informs voters about Kratovil’s cozy relationship with Big Labor. Kratovil has taken thousands of dollars from big labor unions whose top priority is passing the infamous “Card Check” bill which would strip workers of their right to a secret ballot election. It is clear that Frank Kratovil is too liberal for Maryland’s First Congressional District.

“Frank Kratovil is trying to hoodwink voters into thinking he is a moderate, but it is clear from his positions that he is a liberal who will march in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi if elected to Congress,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. “If voters in Maryland-01 want to be represented by someone who will fight for lower taxes and greater economic freedom, then Frank Kratovil is the last place they should turn. Instead, they should vote for State Senator Andy Harris who has a proven record of fighting for taxpayers.”

Why Are Their Lines To Get Gas At Sam's Club?

Because they're so much cheaper than the competition locally. Day after day I continue top be convinced that when you partner up with Kratovil and become subjected with higher gas prices, stations will continue to have no lines of customers. Photos don't lie.

Help Wanted Section???

Would anyone be interested in a "Help Wanted" section?

If so, please comment. If there's enough people interested, I may start a weekly post for help wanted ads.

Leave It To The Democrats

"Democrats use emergency financial bailout bill to fund illegal voter registration groups!

It seems the Democrats wanted 20% of any profit made by this grant to go to the very groups that time and time again turn out to be corrupt tools for voter fraud. Find below the portion of the bailout bill.

TRANSFER OF A PERCENTAGE OF PROFITS.
DEPOSITS.Not less than 20 percent of any profit realized on the sale of each troubled asset purchased under this Act shall be deposited as provided in paragraph (2).

USE OF DEPOSITS.Of the amount referred to in paragraph (1)
65 percent shall be deposited into the Housing Trust Fund established under section 1338 of the Federal Housing Enterprises Regulatory Reform Act of 1992 (12 U.S.C. 4568); and 35 percent shall be deposited into the Capital Magnet Fund established under section 1339 of that Act (12 U.S.C. 4569).

REMAINDER DEPOSITED IN THE TREASURY. All amounts remaining after payments under paragraph (1) shall be paid into the General Fund of the Treasury for reduction of the public debt.

It turns out that the Housing Trust Fund is a way of funding ACORN, La Raza, and other groups that time and again are caught doing voter fraud operations for the Democrats. Why pray tell is the federal government funding liberal partisan operations? Here we go again, we can’t even get a bailout bill without the pork barrel."

The Mayor Of Salisbury Sh!ts A Golden Brick On Citizens

Remember my article the other day on "The Bricks" project. You know, the low income housing project the City wants to dump $1,800,000.00 into. Well, even though the Daily Times did an article on it yesterday after we brought it to every one's attention, they certainly didn't do any investigative reporting on the project.

Let me ask you this. Did your home cost you $225.00 a square foot? You do know that when they give you a square foot price, in include the cost of the land as well, right? Well, it does.

That being said, when you calculate the square footage of the building, (already built) and include the land, (already donated) and the total cost of one million, eight hundred thousand dollars it comes to more than $225.00 a square foot to RENOVATE!

I don't know where this pinhead of a Mayor gets her business degree but this is simply outrageous! The Citizens of Salisbury continue to put their heads in the sand and allow this woman to railroad anything and everything she wants and this is for LOW INCOME HOUSING???????

If YOU can't afford to build your own home for $225.00 a square foot, why should they be spending this on Low Income Housing? Why is the City getting into the home rental business?

Quite frankly Ladies & Gentlemen, YOU need to make this project come to an immediate halt. I don't care if they're going to tell you they're getting grant money for it or not. Maryland is in deep trouble financially and our Politicians need to act far more responsible than this and stop this kind of spending.

They should re name the project, "The Golden Bricks" and call it what it really is. Way to go again Daily Times. Don't get into the BEEF of the articles you write, just tell everyone what the Mayor wants your customers to hear.

Oh, let's not forget that construction costs are going WAY DOWN, not up. I just love how she rides the wave and wants you to believe this is what it really costs to RENOVATE a building.

Soldiers Returning From Iraq This Saturday

They are expected to depart Saturday from Ft. Dix somewhere between 9:30 and 10:15 am. This means the expected arrival time to the Salisbury Armory is about 2:00 pm. You know that traffic and other things could influence their arrival time so if people start arriving about 1:30 or a little after, that will give us enough time to hand out flags.

These Soldiers deserve a Hero's Welcome Home so I'm reaching out to ALL of you to take some time out of your schedule to be there.

Do you think you can make it?

The Truth According to Kratovil

Does Frank Kratovil ever tell the truth?  I'm sure he does.  Like the the broken clock which tell the correct time twice a day, congressional candidate Frank Kratovil probably tells the truth on occasion.  Unfortunately for the citizens of Maryland's First District, he hasn't been doing it much lately.

Case in point - the Trillion Dollar Federal Bailout. (I know that they said $700 billion, but the price tag seems to be rising by the minute.)  On Monday, I stood in Holloway Hall at Salisbury University and watched Frank Kratovil state that he supported the bailout proposal which passed the US House last Friday.  Tuesday night, Frank Kratovil stood before a crowd in North East and said that he opposed the bailout.

From PolitickerMD -

Harris continued: "Mr. Kratovil supported the bailout plan passed last Friday. Now you don't get a bigger break for Wall Street than that bailout plan. In fact, he went so far as to say, just yesterday, that the crisis is solved. Ladies and gentlemen, the crisis isn't solved," said Harris.

Kratovil denounced Harris's claims, saying he didn't favor the bailout at all.

"I didn't like the pork either, and I would not have voted for it. And I did not say the crisis was solved. What I said is our country tends to deal with issues on a crisis by crisis basis," said Kratovil.

Harris refused to step back and continued questioning Kratovil's motives.

"Mr. Kratovil. Just pick up The Daily Times," said Harris. "It's in quotes. It says quote 'we solved the crisis.' Now which is it? What you said yesterday in Salisbury or what you're saying today in Cecil College? I don't get it."

Either Kratovil is detached from reality, in which case his family should seek medical help for the man, or he is lying.  Read More ...

The Daily Times News Tracker

Dear Daily Times:

While it has been months since the passing of a murdered woman found lying in a ditch in the Industrial Park, why haven't you followed up with an update on her murder and the progress, (and or the lack of) from the Salisbury Police Department?

You see, they don't call you the Tilghman Times for nothing. The murderer is still on the loose and quite frankly while your Customers are now paying $ .50 a copy, please tell us what kind of service you're actually giving back to the community?

Did you ever think that if you regularly gave out Crime Solvers number with a description of the suspect, his vehicle, the color of that vehicle and all of the other information "I" happen to have but YOU won't release, your Customers might be able to not only help assist the Police in finding this suspect, they would be more informed as to WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR AND EVEN EDUCATE THEIR CHILDREN OF SUCH A MURDERER ON THE LOOSE.

Oh well, I'm just a little old Blogger, what do I know, right?

Steny Hoyer Sending Busload From Prince Goerge's Co. To Help Kratovil

Friends,

Senator Barack Obama has told us that "change doesn't come from Washington, it comes to Washington." Right now the polls show a 50/50 race in one of Maryland's congressional races where our neighbors will choose between more-of-the-same candidate Andy Harris and change candidate Frank Kratovil.

Join me this Saturday at 9:45 am in Parking Lot 1 of the University of Maryland for a bus trip to Baltimore County to volunteer for Frank Kratovil. The parking lot is large so look for the big yellow school bus. Directions from Greenbelt can be found here. Our own Majority Leader Steny Hoyer will be there to give us a send off as we embark to make change happen right here in Maryland.

Why is this so important? Maryland's First Congressional District has the best opportunity to send a democrat to congress we've seen in over a decade. The choice in this election is clear: a far-right conservative who supports Bush/Cheney/McCain or a strong, tested prosecutor who shares or values and will fight for working families across Maryland.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Majority Leader Hoyer have declared this race one of the best opportunities or democrats to expand their congressional majority in the entire country. It is very important that we show undecided voters in the First Congressional District what the choice is this November.

Please note the time has changed since last week's email. Please meet at 9:45 on Saturday. We can win this race but we need your help. Please join us.

Sincerely,

Justin Ross

Pocomoke City Skate Park Unofficial Opening!

This Saturday at 2pm come on down to Cypress Park and get together with other skate rats for a couple of hours to hang out and enjoy some dogs and burgers and soda's.

Parents of skaters are providing food and drinks, skaters provide an afternoon of showing off, teaching the younger kids how to do what you do.

We are also going to take some time discuss future events, such as competitions at the facility, and we are also going to take few minutes to pick up any trash that may be laying around to be good citizens, and give back a little bit.

If you don't have a skate park card be sure you get one tomorrow so that you can participate on Saturday.

This will be a great time to get to know others who are into skating and get a chance to share what we know with one another.

Skaters of all ages are invited and so are their parents.

So I hope to see you there!

The Big Issues

Have you ever noticed that character and judgment are considered off-limits for Democrat candidates?  In 1992 we were told that these weren't valid matters for discussion when we had to worry about all of of those "Big Issues".  Of course, those very same issues (character and judgment) were what crippled the Clinton administration in its second term.

Barack Obama is attempting the same tack.  Granted, there are no accusations of womaninzing (that I know of).  Far more disconcerting than Clinton's use of cigars is Obama's world view and the people who helped form and promote that world view.

Our Red Maryland colleague Mark Newgent has a superb piece on this issue.  Obama's complete lack of candor regarding his relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist should disqualify him from the Senate, much less the Presidency.  His relationships with a pastor who seems to hate America and with groups who support a socialist, if not Marxist, agenda should at least give pause to our evaluation of "The One".

How's This For A Gunshot Survivor

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego , was visiting her in-laws, and while there, went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up, with her eyes closed, and with both hands behind the back of her head.

One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she had been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The man immediately called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head.

When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head. A Pillsbury biscuit canister she purchased in the store had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered.

Linda is a blonde, a Democrat, and an Obama supporter, but that could be irrelevant.

Eddie Cantor's Tips On The Stock Market

Note: The Crash of 1929 changed Cantor from being a millionaire to being over 200,000 dollars in debt. The story is that singer/vaudevillian Eddie Cantor was at a recording session on what turned out to be Black Tuesday, 29 October 1929. In between takes he was making sarcastic remarks that had the musicians and recording engineers cracking up. The head engineer suggested he record his remarks as a monologue. The mention of "margin" reflects the then popular practice of buying stock on credit advances by stock brokerage firms, which initially got only a small part of the price from certain (very many, as it were) of their customers, but then required the balance to be covered if the stock decreased in price. That practice has been curtailed to a large extent today, but now we have "credit swaps" and other sophisticated nonsense from the likes of Lehman Brothers and Goldman, Sacks that were insured by firms like AIG and bought by the big banks here and abroad that are now being saved with the $700 Billion bailout. Fortunately, most of the skyscrapers on "the Street" now have windows that don't open, but many of the apartments and condos in Manhattan have outdoor terraces that are suitable for jumping if the bailout bombs.

Well, folks,They got me in the marketjust as they got every-body else.In fact, they're not calling it the Stock Market any longer. It's called the Stuck Market.Everyone is stuck.Well, except my uncle. He got a good break. He died in September.Poor fellow had diabetes at 45.That's nothing.I had Chrysler at 110.

With the way the market has been running, many a man goes down to business in a Rolls-Royce,And comes home in a Mack Truck.

If the market takes another slump,I know thousands and thousands of married men Who will have to leave their sweetheartsAnd go back to their wives.

Everyone is singing The Margin Song from Wall Street:"Sucker Come Back To Me" [to tune of "Lover Come Back To Me]

Of course, if you can dig up the margin, you're all right. If not, Brother, you're gone.

Now-a-days, when a man walks into a hotel,And requests a room on the 19th floor,The clerk asks him:"For sleeping, or jumping?"

I met one chap in the lobby of a hotel the other dayAnd he looked quite sleepy. And so I asked him:I said "Why are your eyes half shut?"He answered, "Eddie, I had to give up my room at 4:30 this morning.I had it on margin."

You know, a lot of brokers down on Wall Street have devised a wonderful scheme. With each five shares of stockThey hand you a loaded gun. They don't tell you what to do with itBut you can use your own judgment.

Before I quit talking,I want to give you one sure tip on the Market.Go out tomorrow and buy National Casket. You can't go wrong.

And by the way, Have you noticed that the Market is reflected even in the way women are dressing?Have you noticed how their skirts have dropped?

Personally, I shouldn't worry about my stocks.I know my broker is going to carry me.Yes sir.He, and 3 other pall bearers.

You Ain't Gonna Like Losing

When electing the next President, 'the only decision you have to make is who you want sitting in that seat in the White House when - not if - WHEN we get hit again and millions of American lives are put at risk!'

This is from: 'You ain't gonna like losing.'

Author unknown.

President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. But the mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq. Bush's mistake came in his belief that this country is the same one his father fought for in WWII. It is not.

Back then, they had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was steeled by the hardship of that depression, but they still believed fervently in this country. They knew that the people had elected their leaders, so it was the people's duty to back those leaders.

Therefore, when the war broke out the people came together, rallied behind, and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for them or not or whether the war was going badly or not.

War was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as it is today. Often there were more casualties in one day in WWII than we have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter. The people stuck with the President because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war.

Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in. Small children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort.

Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition trying their best to join the military. Women doubled their work to keep things going at home. Harsh rationing of everything from gasoline to soap, to butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.

You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the President. Interestingly enough in those days there were no fat cat actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators of hostile countries and complain to them about our President. Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our troops to help the troops' morale. A bunch even enlisted.

Imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off with a Pledge of Allegiance and with prayers for our country and our troops!

Back then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots in our cities where bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No newspaper would have dared complain about what we were doing to catch spies. A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had complained that German or Japanese soldiers were being 'tortured' by being forced to wear women's underwear or subjected to interrogation by a woman or being scared by a dog or did not have air conditioning.

There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did not have legions of crack heads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming our streets.

No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism. He made the mistake of believing that we still had the courage and fortitude of our fathers. He believed that this was still the country that our fathers fought so dearly to preserve.

It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorra and the land of Oz. We did unite for a short while after 9/11, but our attitude changed when we found out that defending our country would require some sacrifices.

We are in great danger. The terrorists are fanatic Muslims. They believe that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone who will not convert to Islam. It has been estimated that about one third or over three hundred million Muslims are sympathetic to the terrorists cause... Hitler and Tojo combined did not have nearly that many potential recruits. So... we either win it - or lose it - and you ain't gonna like losing.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall, or watching the movie stars.

(Remember Obama said in his book 'Audacity of Hope', 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction'.....what better place for the Muslins to control our country, than in the office of the President of USA!)

Seven Percent

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said.

Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell.

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

"It is simple, said the Lord."

"It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

When Jesus died on the cross, He was thinking of you. It's estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title "7%".

I'm in the 7%

Remember that I will always share my spoon with you!

OK Tina, THERE! Mine reached thousands and now I don't even have to go to Church for a year. HA! ;-)

A second suspect attempted to attack the arrested party and was sprayed with a one second blast of pepper spray. The second suspect fled Parkside High School. A third participant was charged in the incident.

EMS was contacted to check the welfare of a bystander and Teacher who complained of feeling the residual effects of pepper spray. Neither treated were in direct contact with the participants during the fight. One student (bystander) was transported by EMS to the hospital for treatment.

Two female juveniles were arrested on site. Both juveniles were released to the school administration pending charges through the Department of Juvenile Services. A third female is still at large pending location and charges.

The week of 10/5 - 10/11 is National Work From Home Week.

How many of Joe's readers/commenters work from home? What is your profession?

My Experience With The Salisbury Police Department

"Joe,

Let me begin by that I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore, I moved away 25 years ago when I married my husband. He served 25 years in the US Navy. But I come home frequently to visit both of our families.

I have been reading your blog for about 8 months now and have read with interest your view of the Salisbury Police Department. I thought you were a little too critical of them, I have changed my mind after this weekend.

Last Friday night my youngest daughter (20) drove to Salisbury for a family wedding, at 12:30 am she called me at my mother-in-laws house. She had a tire blow out on top of the Route 13 over pass bridge. She was driving her husband 4-wheel drive truck. When I got there you could not see her vehicle until you were near the top of the bridge. I pulled up behind her and put my 4-way flashers on. My daughter had never been broken down on the side of the road and was scared to death. I was trying to get her to drive the truck to the Tastee Freeze parking lot at the bottom of the bridge when a SPD officer came along, I thought finally help. Boy was I wrong. He pulled up in front of my daughters truck and stopped her as she was driving very slowly down the hill, I got out of my truck and asked the officer who I could call for help. Yes I know how to change a tire but was afraid that I would not be strong enough to jack the truck up. He said he could give me their dispatch number, which he did. Then he stated he had another call and left. He left us on the hill again. Before I could call the number, my husband called my cell phone to see if we had gotten anyone to help us yet and I lost the number to dispatch.

We finally got to the parking lot. No thanks to the SPD!! We also witnessed a drug deal go down right in the parking lot with us.

The good part of the night was to young Mexican males stopped to us and helped change the tire. The could not speak English very well but we were able to communicate with them well enough to get the tire changed.

Remember, I have not lived in this area for 25 years and both vehicles had out of state plates (one Virginia, one with North Carolina plates). If the policeman that had stopped to us would have called a tow truck for us or even had another officer to come help us the night would not have been so scary.

I will never doubt your criticism of the SPD again. It really is as bad as you post on your blog.

Thanks

Is God in Charge?

In about a month, some of us will go to the polls to cast our vote for the next President of the United States. All the millions of dollars spent by the candidates to sell themselves to you and I will finally come to a halt.

The Bible tells us that God places our leaders in charge. That God and only God is responsible for who becomes our next President. He has a plan for all of us, and it doesn't always go the way we think it should or want it to.

Do you believe that God puts our leaders where they are? Are the ones who win elections predetermined? Or do you think that it is purely a contest where the winner is chosen by the people through the electoral college? Please be very honest. You know who's watching, and it's not Santa's helpers.
