Appeals Court Rebukes Imperious Judge Over Absurd Absentee Ballot Ruling

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit has taken federal District Judge Fred Biery to the proverbial woodshed over an outlandish order he issued in late May.

In that order, Biery required Texas to allow all voters to vote by mail even if they didn’t otherwise meet the state’s eligibility requirement for an absentee ballot.

In a stunning June 4 rebuke written by Judge Jerry Smith, a unanimous three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit said that Biery’s order will be “remembered more for [its] audacity than legal reasoning.”

The appeals court panel said that although Biery wanted “to take matters into his own hands,” the spread of COVID-19 has not given unelected federal judges “a roving commission to rewrite state election codes” and intervene just weeks before an election.

Why Americans Must Stand Up to the Left’s Power Grab

Parts of the movement started by widespread revulsion at the murder of George Floyd have metastasized into a power grab by hard leftists.

Their aim goes beyond dismantling the police—likely to have an early sell-by date—but targets the suppression of such tenets of liberalism as speech and property rights.

Conservatives who want to conserve the republic as it is need to gird up for this battle.

For a brief, ephemeral moment, the country came together in condemnation of Floyd’s death in police custody in Minneapolis. But a crisis is a terrible thing to waste, so those who want to change America root and branch, because they see it as an experiment not worth preserving, sensed an opportunity for their agenda.

Old People Get Cramps In Weird Places - Tom Foss

Where Used Car Prices Are Crashing The Most In The US

Since the coronavirus pandemic began grinding the global economy to a halt, we have been keeping a close eye on the auto market. The auto market was mired in recession prior to the virus and therefore has been disproportionately affected by the slowdown in the global economy.

In January, prior to the virus shutdowns, auto companies set the tone for the year, starting 2019 just as miserably as 2018 ended, with major double digit plunges in sales from manufacturers like Nissan and Daimler. Since then, things have only worsened, with major markets like China and the U.S. seeing sales fall off a cliff as consumers have been forced to stay home.

We have recently noted that U.S. auto manufacturers are teeing up sizeable incentives to get buyers back into showrooms. Europe is following suit, with Volkswagen starting a sales initiative to revive demand, including improved leasing and financing terms.

How Much Do US Cities Spend On Policing?

The state of America's policing has come under scrutiny after George Floyd's shocking death in Minneapolis. That resulted in massive protests all over the country with people demanding reform and an end to police brutality and racism. It has created a debate about "defunding" the police and redirecting more money into community outreach programs.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recently said he would make cuts to the NYPD's $6 billion budget and set funding aside for communities and his view is at odds with President Trump. On Monday, Trump said that "there won’t be defunding, there won’t be dismantling of our police, and there is not going to be any disbanding of our police.”

As Statista's Niall McCarthy notes, over the past 30 years, the U.S. has dramatically increased police spending while funding has fallen for mental health services, community outreach programs, housing subsidies and food benefits programs for disadvantaged low-income communities that have to deal with high levels of criminality. Data from The Center for Popular Democracy, Law for Black Lives and the Black Youth Project 100 estimates that the U.S. spends a collective $100 billion on policing per year and another $80 billion on incarceration. It also shows the amount spent on policing per person in a selection of major cities which ranges from $381 to $772.

Well before George Floyd lost his life, an earlier version of the report revealed serious issues about policing in Minneapolis, stating that "racial disparities there are especially stark" and that "black and indigenous people were more than eight and-a-half times more likely than whites to be arrested for low-level offenses". It also said that "black people comprise 19 percent of the Minneapolis population but account for 59 percent of low-level arrests. Whites, by contrast, comprise 64 percent of the population but only 23 percent of low-level arrests". In 2017, Minneapolis spent $408 per person on its police force. Unfortunately, that figure was not available for 2020, unlike the other cities listed on this infographic.

Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Sues FDA for “Irrational” Interference of Access to Life-Saving Hydroxychloroquine

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (https://aapsonline.org) filed a lawsuit against Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA for “irrational interference” by the FDA with timely access to hydroxychloroquine.

Never in history have we seen such a determined effort by the scientific community and pharmaceutical industry to downplay and lie about the use of a successful drug to treat a deadly disease.

Hydroxychloroquine is the first choice in a study of 6,000 doctors treating the coronavirus.
In the field and in independent testing hydroxychloroquine displayed amazing results in treating the COVID-19 virus.

But there was great pushback against hydroxychloroquine for two reasons. The first reason was because it was safe and very inexpensive. The second reason is because Donald Trump promoted its use.

Violent BLM Rioters Surround NYPD Cruiser with Police Officers Inside, Shatter Windows with Trashcans and Bricks (VIDEO)

The mob surrounded the police cruiser on Flathbush Avenue in Brooklyn and shattered the back window with a trash can.

The police officer turned the cruiser around in order to flee the scene.

As the cruiser turned around, the terrorists threw bricks and other projectiles aimed at the officers inside, shattering other windows.

The Mob’s Support For Rayshard Brooks Exposes Them For The Race-Baiting Hypocrites They Are

When George Floyd was allegedly killed by a callous police officer needlessly placing his knee to his neck for several minutes, the nation was united, for about a minute. Nobody in America looked at that video and thought, “that guy got what he deserved.” Nobody. And yet, leftist-led protests that quickly turned to lawless riots quickly turned off a huge segment of law-abiding American society. Instead of a rational, national discussion on police militarization, community policing, use of force, proper de-escalation tactics, and other common-sense reforms that would help ALL races in their interactions with law enforcement, the ‘movement’ quickly became about defunding police forces, creating quasi-communist policeless states in the middle of major U.S. cities, and “dismantling systemic societal structural racism,” or something.

Tragically, what should have had absolutely nothing to do with race became ALL about race as the chattering class used one example to ‘prove’ a point real data and statistics can easily disprove. Instead of bringing in white and other color victims of unjust police brutality to create a multi-racial coalition against an evil that can affect anyone, and there are plenty such examples, they literally canonized a career criminal who once did five years in prison for holding a gun to the stomach of a pregnant black woman while her house was robbed. No, there weren’t 18 funerals for Tony Timpa and Daniel Shaver, much less a golden casket or a horse-drawn carriage, but those men also died unjustly at the hands of police, and both of those incidents, when you examine the details, were arguably more unjust than Floyd’s. The difference, of course, was the color of their skin, which is probably why you’ve never heard their names.

Liz Peek: Left silences silent majority – but watch for this in November

The silent majority grows ever more silent.

Tens of millions of Americans are aghast at what is taking place in our country. Neighborhoods burned by angry mobs, an entire section of Seattle “occupied” by anarchists, the city council of Minneapolis voting to eliminate its police department, public monuments and statues trashed, popular TV shows canceled because they show law enforcement in a favorable light, over 700 cops injured during “mostly peaceful protests.”

Most Americans are horrified by these offenses, but fearful. They know that objecting to the violence or challenging the overarching accusation from the Left – that our country is “profoundly racist” – is dangerous. The woke mob will shame you and get you fired.

No one will stand up for you; no one will protect you. It is safer to remain silent.

In 1969, Richard Nixon called on the “silent majority” to push back against anti-war activists protesting America’s involvement in Vietnam. President Trump tweeted those words recently, suggesting correctly that most of the country opposed the chaos in our streets.

The Sad Saga of Stacey Abrams

Despite Georgia Dem's campaign for VP spot, Biden has not contacted her

Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams said Wednesday that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had not contacted her about joining the 2020 ticket, despite her campaign to be his running mate.

In 2019, when rumors arose that Biden would pick her as a running mate before he even launched his candidacy, Abrams told The View she would not run for "second place." But since choosing not to run for any office in 2020, Abrams has privately and publicly sought the vice-presidential position, proclaiming herself an "excellent" choice. She also said she would be concerned if Biden did not choose a woman of color for the position.

Abrams is best known for her losing bid for Georgia governor in 2018. She never conceded defeat and has repeatedly blamed her defeat on voter suppression methods.

Civil rights attorney Leo Terrell explains why he stopped drinking the 'Democratic kool-aid'

Don't let the Democratic Party trick you — please!'

Civil Rights attorney Leo Terrell says he has stopped drinking the "Democratic kool-aid."

During an appearance on Fox News on Friday, network host Sean Hannity noted that Republicans were responsible for the Emancipation Proclamation, the party supported desegregation through the landmark Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education — which overturned the legal doctrine of "separate but equal" — and that Republicans helped then-President Lyndon Johnson pass the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.

"What you see is a lot of Democrats they were all against that," Hannity proclaimed.

The history that Hannity outlined, along with the fact that Democrats often label the Republican Party as the party of racism, is why Terrell stopped supporting the Democratic Party's agenda, the civil rights attorney said.

"This is why I stopped drinking the Democrat Kool-Aid. I can't take this hypocrisy anymore. It's ridiculous," Terrell explained.

U.S. Senate Candidate Lauren Witzke Stands Up To Antifa

Current Military Generals – More Committed to Democrats and their Globalist Agenda – Join Deep State’s “Rolling Coup” of President Trump

President Trump and all of America held a deep regard for the US military for years. This was even after the wars in Iraq and the Obama Administration. Now it appears the true colors of the US military are showing and they aren’t flying for America or President Trump.

President Trump and all of America held a deep regard for the military. Conservatives saluted the military for ages while Democrats reviled the military as murderers during the Vietnam years. Then came the wars in the Middle East and President Obama.

One of the real signs of Obama tearing down the military was his firing of General Michael Flynn. General Flynn called out Obama and his terrible policies as he was trying to make a deal with the terrorist nation of Iran while he was shipping weapons to ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Obama targeted General Flynn ever since and as a result he still is caught up in a legal battle that started with a lie and entrapment and is stuck in the courts after two corrupt judges and a compliant lying media.

President Trump brought Generals Mattis, Kelly and McMaster into the White House. General McMaster was so bad he brought in Eric Ciaramella to the White House, the suspected fake whistleblower behind the unconstitutional and corrupt Ukraine impeachment. These guys were suspected leakers and liars and certainly to this day prove they are not behind President Trump or his tens of millions of supporters.

What If Obama Were President and KKK Terrorists Took Control of an American City?

First, let's start with the new name of downtown Seattle. The communist-anarchist terrorists call it "CHAZ" for Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. I've changed the name to "CATZ" for Communist Anarchist Terrorist Zone.

I'm talking, of course, about the new "country" formerly known as Seattle. The domestic antifa terrorists clearly in charge have set up borders, roadblocks and armed guards. They are holding six blocks of an American city hostage as a "no-go zone." There is a wave of robberies, assaults and rapes going on inside that "zone," according to the Seattle police. It's all being run by a "warlord" -- a Soundcloud rapper. You can't make this stuff up.

This insanity is happening in America.

Then there are the liberal and obviously mentally ill politicians in charge. The Democratic governor claims he knows nothing about it. He's doing his best imitation of Sgt. Schultz from the old TV series "Hogan's Heroes" -- "I see nothing. I hear nothing. I know nothing." The governor pretends he doesn't know the biggest city in his state has been seized by communist-anarchist terrorists.

The Democratic mayor of Seattle calls the terrorists "patriotic." I kid you not.

The leading councilperson in Seattle -- also a Democrat -- gave the radical terrorists the keys to city hall.

Now she's demanding the police surrender to the terrorists, while introducing legislation to permanently hand six city blocks to domestic terrorists. The lunatics are running the asylum.

Hillary Clinton lost her appeal, order stands to testify on private server and Benghazi emails Read more: https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/06/hillary_clinton_lost_her_appeal_order_stands_testify_on_private_server_and_benghazi_emails.html#ixzz6PMglPoTK Follow us: @AmericanThinker on Twitter | AmericanThinker on Facebook

Amid the chaos and anarchy across blue-city America that exclusively possessed public attention for the last couple of weeks, it was not hard to miss any other bit of news — especially if that news has not appeared or been even briefly mentioned by any major mainstream media outlet. Take for example the news of Hillary Clinton, who lost her appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on June 2, where she tried to avoid testifying under oath about her emails and the Benghazi case.

The hearing in the D.C. Circuit came in the case Judicial Watch v. Clinton, a public records case involving a request for State Department documents and communication about the 2012 terror attack at the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the attack.

The case also involves Clinton's use of a private email server as secretary of state. Judicial Watch, a conservative activist watchdog group that files Freedom of Information Act lawsuits to investigate claimed misconduct by government officials, uncovered another 756 pages of emails the FBI was able to retrieve that were part of Hillary Clinton's unsecured server revealing communications between some prominent Washington figures and classified emails sent by former prime minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair. The emails were part of the batch "Clinton tried to delete or destroy," Judicial Watch stated in its press release. It showed that Clinton had asked Blair to continue using her private email after her confirmation and also revealed that Blair was sending classified information on her unsecured server. Clinton had been "extremely careless" in her handling of classified information, as ex–FBI director James Comey carefully and rather mildly concluded in July 2016, announcing there would be no charges against her. Judicial Watch did not drop the case.

Do You Remember Him?

Richard Marlin Perkins (March 28, 1905 – June 14, 1986) died 34 years ago today at the age of 81. Best known as a host of the television program Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom from 1963 to 1985.

Perkins was the host of Zoo Parade, a television program that originated from the Lincoln Park Zoo on NBC station WNBQ-TV (now WMAQ-TV) when he was the director there. During a rehearsal of Zoo Parade, he was bitten by a timber rattlesnake, one of several bites from venomous snakes Perkins suffered throughout his career (over the years he was also bitten by a cottonmouth and a Gaboon viper). Although the incident occurred during a pre-show rehearsal and was not filmed, it has become something of an urban legend, with many people "remembering" seeing Perkins receive the bite on television.

As a result of his work on Zoo Parade Perkins was offered the job in 1963 for which most North Americans remember him: host of the nature show Wild Kingdom. The fame he gained in his television career allowed Perkins to become an advocate for the protection of endangered species, and through Wild Kingdom he gave many Americans their first exposure to the conservation movement.
Perkins also helped establish The Wild Canid Survival and Research Center (WCSRC) near St. Louis in 1971. This wolf sanctuary has been instrumental in breeding wolves for eventual re-placement into their natural habitats.

Perkins retired from active zookeeping in 1970 and from Wild Kingdom in 1985 for health reasons. Perkins remained with the Saint Louis Zoo as Director Emeritus until his death on June 14, 1986, when he died of cancer.

ABC News exec on administrative leave over racist remarks about black anchors: report

A top ABC News executive is on administrative leave after reported claims of racist and sexist remarks surfaced.

A report from Huffington Post's Yashar Ali lays out damning accusations of Barbara Fedida, head of ABC News talent, and her treatment of black journalists at the network.

In 2018, during a contentious meeting about renewing “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts's contract, Fedida reportedly "asked what more Roberts could want and said it wasn’t as if the network was asking Roberts to 'pick cotton.'"

Fedida also reportedly referred to "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin as "low rent."

Another source told Ali about a comment Fedida said about then-ABC News journalist Kendis Gibson, a black anchor, that ABC “spends more on toilet paper than we ever would on him."

Bob Woodson: Democrats Blame Racism To Deflect Attention From Failures Of Cities They've Run For 50 Years

Bob Woodson, founder of the Woodson Center, joins Tucker Carlson with insight on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight.'

"In the past 50 years, $22 trillion has been spent on poverty programs. Seventy percent goes not to the poor but those who serve poor people," he said. "So many of those people taking office use this money to create a class of people who are running these cities, and now after 50 years of liberal Democrats running the inner cities, where we have all of these inequities that we have, race is being used as a ruse, as a means of deflecting attention away from critical questions such as why are poor blacks failing in systems run by their own people?"

"It's more class than it is race ... and now race is being used to deflect attention away from the failures of people running those institutions," he added. "The question is why are black kids failing in school systems run by their own people?"

NASCAR team reveals pro-police ‘Back The Blue’ paint scheme to run at Homestead-Miami

(CBS Sports) - NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Kyle Weatherman drove a pro-police scheme car with a large "Back The Blue" hashtag during Saturday's Dixie Vodka 250. The car not only featured the phrase in three places, but also had a large "Blue Lives Matter" flag decal on the hood of the car, with the "Thin Blue Line" running across the side.

This reveal from Mike Harmon Racing, Weatherman’s racing team, came just four days after Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace drove a car which had “Black Lives Matter” in the two of the same spots where Weatherman’s pro-cop slogans resided. The third placement of “Back the Blue” on Weatherman’s car was put in the same spot where Wallace had “Compassion, Love, Understanding.”

Though the tweet mentions that this design is for law enforcement officers (LEO's) and First Responders, the "Thin Blue Line" and its associate, the Blue Lives Matter flag, are more representative of the police than any other group. Officers often display the imagery as a show of solidarity.
