!!!!!Red Net Alert!!!!!

First a gun earlier this year and know knives. The following is a transcript of a letter sent home on Bus 94, Pittsville.

"To Parents of students riding bus 94:

This morning Mrs Elaine Kardiasmenos reported that a student had a knife on the bus. The student was escorted to a middle school classroom where the student was searched by the school administration. An investigation was conducted by the school administration and law enforcement. The student was in possession of three knives.

We have no reason to believe that the student had any intentions of doing harm to any students. The student indicated that he brought the knives to school to show his friends. The knives have been confiscated and disciplinary action has been taken.

Again, we applaud the student who shared concerns with the bus driver, which resulted in the investigation.

Sincerely Joyce Dunn Principal"

Calling 911

Most recently, (as many of you know) I called 911 and guess what I received? Maryland 911 Center. Now I live in Delaware several miles from the property on Jersey Road in Maryland that was on fire yesterday. The IDEA that you guys from the Fire Department want to SUGGEST they would have reached Delaware 911 is complete BS!

NO, you're wrong, didn't happen, NICE TRY! NEXT!

Pemberton Shore Stop Robbed Twice In 8 Days

The Shore Stop in Salisbury, (the 10th most dangerous City in America) on Pemberton Drive & Parson's Road has been robbed twice in the past 8 days. Guess what guys, if you don't patrol it, they're going to keep robbing it. Remember the graffiti last year? Let me ask you Barrie, How the Chief working for you?

911 Center Screws Up Royally!!!!!!

Clearly, the smoke still lingers in the sky as the fire continues to burn more than 24 hours after it started yesterday on Jersey Road.

HOWEVER, wait till you read what REALLY happened yesterday. What would you say if I told you when the fire started, the Son called 911 and they hung up on the young man, not once, but twice? OK, if that's hard to believe, get this. Then the Father gets on the phone, calls 911 and they direct him to a Verizon Call Center! OK, now you call 911 back for a 4th time and they send you somewhere else, they don't even know where the call went!

If 4 calls wasn't good enough, the property own quickly remembered he had spoken with a Fire Fighter who was going to be in charge of this Saturday's controlled burn and his number was still on his cell phone. So he made the 5th call to this person who then contacted the proper people to get someone rolling to the scene.

Look, I don't care what anyone says or thinks here but something needs to be done and it needs to be done right away. The 911 Center SUCKS and SBYNEWS.COM is the only place that has exposed such ridiculous hang ups from them. Imagine just how many that have been screwed up in the past that we haven't heard about?

Now is the time for some real discussion on this very serious matter. Let it roll!

OH, before anyone goes pointing fingers at anyone. I went to the property for a follow up today and spoke directly with John Culver and his wonderful Wife. MY information is from the horses mouth, respectfully. I'm sure See & Gordy will be trying to point fingers all over the Fire Department but they need to shut their mouths this time and answer to this serious situation. It happened, it's a fact, how are we going to fix it?

More Details On How Local Fire Departments Work

The Wicomico County Chief's Association is the responsible party for meeting and determining what departments respond to what fire. Despite what everyday citizens believe as to paying city and county taxes, none of that truly applies, unless there is a special arrangement. An example of this would be the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, in Montgomery County. BCC is a volunteer corporation operating within the Montgomery Department of Fire and Rescue Services and they operate just like all the other Montgomery County fire departments. However, their close proximity to the neighborhood communities in Northwest, D.C. has their EMS units physically closer than other D.C. Fire/EMS units. In this case, many citizens of this area of Northwest subscribe (pay annual money) to have a BCC EMS unit respond to their call for emergency instead of D.C. Fire/EMS. I believe, and may be wrong, but I don't think that annexation has ever played much of a part into Wicomico County fire department response, unless recent annexation has made some inroads, but that would also require the involved municipalities talking with their respective fire department. The biggest factors have been "this has always been so and so territory" or "we've always done it that way".

In Wicomico County, to have a standardized dispatch assignment, the chiefs have to have consensus on the responses and units required. As far as I know most of the stations do agree to a three station response for structure fires, however there are differences. Fruitland has a two station response, to the best of my knowledge, for no really logical reason (this is why Clyde Avenue only was dispatched for Station 3 and Station 16) Stations 1 and 15 eventually responded but had to be specifically called (also, earlier, 200 South Division Street, Fruitland, house fire - only got Station 3 and 1). If chief officers are misguided by pride and selfishness, instead of providing the best service for the county residents, then you end up with chiefs picking and choosing who is called to the fire. To Salisbury's credit, they have come a long way and use the three station response. Years ago, you had to wait to be called, unless the chief officer responding could put pride aside and do the right thing.

Wicomico County Central, the county's 9-1-1 center, can only do what they are told, or requested, by either the chief officer agreements, or by what a chief requests at a fire. The commenter above is correct about a recent fire in Willards. On the gossip site (TWD) you can easily read the personality conflicts that cause a closer ladder truck to be staged on the fireground while one from further away is requested, responds and is given assignments. Windmere Court, Willards.

Using the agreed three-station response, the house fire initially was dispatched for Stations 8 (Willards), 7 (Pittsville) and 11 (Powellville). Tower 6 (Berlin) was requested to respond by Incident Command. Parsonsburg Truck 7 responded but was staged.

If citizens want to try and attach the thought of paying for services, then they need to investigate how fire departments currently determine 9-1-1 responses first.

Accident On Business Rt. 50 & Westwood Last Night

While traveling into Salisbury last night I came across this accident. I'm told everyone was OK.

OK, so here's what makes it interesting. NOTICE the Hebron Ambulance there, right? First of all, the street light above that intersection is burned out, so it's pitch black. I had my camera set at 1600 and I used a flash just to get this shot!

Anyhow, I took some pictures and to start with, a Sheriff's Deputy was on the scene, NOT the Salisbury Police Department. Wasn't this property recently annexed into the City?

Let's get back to the Hebron Ambulance. They were there in such a short period of time, Salisbury couldn't even come close to competing and let me explain more. Because of finances, See & Gordy have forced this territory to be served through the SFD and took it away from Hebron. WHAT? That's right. NOW, do YOU see a Salisbury Ambulance there? NO!

As a matter of fact, I did my thing there and after a while I left. I swear to you, I got all the way Downtown before a Salisbury Fire Truck was turning off Mill Street onto Rt. 50 and heading off to the accident. UNBELIEVABLE!

Now look, I know this is going to be harsh but I have to say it. SAVE LIVES, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Your leaders are so freakin desperate for funding, they'll risk lives, NOT save them, just to get additional funds to pay for their $10,000,000.00 bullshit Station.

NOW, that being said, why would it take so long for Salisbury to simply leave the Station? Because they are so short staffed, NO ONE wants to work there and wait till the new building opens, it will be even worse.

I can see it now. All the criminals and thieves will be able to sit at home waiting for one thing, the sirens to go off. Once they go off they'll wait a few minutes till 30 4x4 pickup trucks come screeching around the corner racing to get to the Station, then they'll hop on the trucks and as soon as these criminal see them pull away, time to break into a few trucks. ROTFLMAO! Yeah, Chiefy Webster will have cameras on the building so fast the taxpayers won't see straight!

Then what do you do? Well, if you're a criminal you simply wear a hood/mask. I guess the Police could get smarter and every so often sit outside the Station waiting for something like this to happen. Lord knows in the 10th Most Dangerous City in America, they don't have anything better to do, right?

Anyhow, no one else has ever challenged the Local Fire Departments and I'm here to stay. It is run by Flip & Flop and they are clueless, IMO. So do throw money in those donation envelopes Folks, it will go to pay for INSURANCE at the new Fire Station because they'll be needing it.

Anyway, Nice Job on the response time to this accident Salisbury. And thanks for Keepin It Unreal.

Today's Wildlife Photo

A friend recently sent me this photo they took and I thought I'd share it with everyone. Cool Shot!

New Recruits?

We ALL know the Salisbury Police Department hires them young but is Sheriff Mike Lewis CRAZY? LOL

Actually Folks, Mike Lewis used to be a Cub Scout in his youth and became a Boy Scout Leader while his Son was involved. So Mike is very familiar with these fine young boys and girls and the good they do for our communities.

Recently they visited the Sheriff's Department where Sheriff Lewis gave them a tour and welcomed them into his new world. Thanks for taking the extra time out of your busy schedule to educate these fine young boys and girls about the Sheriff's Department and the processes involved on a daily basis. My guess, I'd bank money that TWO of these children will become an Officer down the road. Anyone want to take that bet?

More Jersey Road Fire Photos

It sure is a big day in The Daily Times referencing ME and the Fire Department. Not only did the Times get their story wrong, they admitted the fire was in fact in Salisbury, (even though many Fire Fighters tried to LIE about that here) and the Salisbury Fire Department didn't respond.

Blame it on whatever you want, if the freakin property is in Salisbury and Salisbury can't respond, annex it OUT of the City.

Smith Declares, "Audit Will Be Late Next Year, With My Blessing!"

Okay, so Louweasel didn't say it quite like that, but that's the meaning of what she said. She said she expects the audit to be presented next year at the Dec. 8 council meeting. Hey, Louise, the ACTUAL deadline for the audit is Nov. 1!

She went into this puffed up script about herself and how she had been "diligently tracking" what was going on with the audit. The Mayor used the exact same words, and made sure everyone knew Big Bad Louise had properly spanked her for a late audit. Gimme a break. There were people snickering everywhere in that room.

Louise had started tracking the audit about three days before it was due. Any credit to Debbie Campbell or Terry Cohen for raising questions about it at the budget sessions in the spring? Nope. Any credit to them for asking specific questions about it through the summer? Nope.

She and the Mayor went on and on about their big meeting last Friday on how Louise told the Mayor how it is. Gimme another break! Just my opinion, but I think they were writing Louise's script. As Louise was reading her statement (can the woman ever just comment on things, or does she always have to have a script, I mean pre-written statement), I could see the Mayor doing what appeared to be reading along.

In case anyone doesn't get the pattern yet, Barrie Tilghman cooks up ways to give HER council members credit for things or projects when they've done next to nothing. Does anyone really think that Louweasel Smith lecturing the Mayor in her grandma schoolmarm way made ANY difference in getting the audit done (I mean not QUITE done)? The fact is, THE COUNCIL CAN'T TOUCH THE MAYOR -- because there are NO CONSEQUENCES for anyone for the audit being late!

The long and short of it, ladies and gentlemen, is YOUR audit, the TAXPAYER'S audit, is LATE AGAIN, and will be LATE YET AGAIN next year. One of the many lines this year is that the audit just isn't as important as people think. Another was that they meant it would be on time with January 1 as the deadline all along. But the best one was, "The audit is done." NOT! Do you tell Uncle Sam, "My taxes are done, I just haven't filled out the forms"??

Once again, Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen made the important points, including trying to trouble-shoot the process, which the auditor, Herb Geary of Trice-Geary, and Finance Director Pam Oland didn't seem to like at all. And following in Louise's credit-grabbing shoes was Gary Comegys, who thought he'd try to grab credit for the solution search by asking Geary the same question a different way.

There was TONS to this meeting, folks! But it's going to take some time to pull even the highlights together. Hopefully, you'll find time to come to a meeting and see for yourselves? Hey, this is all my opinion, but it's your money!
