Genetically Modified Food Products
Corporations peddling genetically modified food products on the American people are now spending big bucks to make sure they aren't exposed. In the battle over California's Proposition 37 – which would require labeling of all genetically modified food – big agribusiness and pesticide corporations like Monsanto and Dupont are spending tens of millions of dollars to kill a labeling requirement. Monsanto has spent more than $7 million, Dupont nearly $5 million, and Dow chemical $2 million. The opponents of Proposition 37 have outraised supporters by nearly $30 million dollars. Despite that – residents in California support the labeling requirements by a two-to-one margin. Let's hope their voices aren't drowned out by big money interests like Monsanto.
Workers Are Rising Up Against Wal Mart
More than 250 Wal Mart workers and sympathizers from Southern California walked out on the job Thursday – and held a rally to draw attention to poor working conditions at the retail giant and unfair retaliation by Wal Mart management. Some workers participating in the action called it a one-day strike – the first ever strike against Wal Mart in the United States. The walkout was led by the Organization United for Respect at Wal Mart – or OUR Wal Mart – which is made up of several thousand Wal Mart workers from around the nation. Three weeks ago – employees at several different Wal Mart supply warehouses walked off the job to protest poor labor conditions. The Wal Mart-ization of America has wreaked havoc on our economy – eating communities by closing down small businesses and funneling workers into low-wage jobs. It looks like the backlash may be underway. Stay tuned.

Global Whatever
The planet is heating up – the weather is getting weirder – and Americans are getting fed disinformation. A new report – published in the Environmental Research Letters journal – looked at more than 2,000 newspaper articles from the US, the UK, France, China, Brazil, and India – to determine just how much coverage the opinions of climate skeptics are getting in major newspapers. The study found that in the US and the UK – climate skeptics were getting a lot more column space than actual credible climate scientists. The lead author of the study – James Painter – said, "These results are significant because they do seem to support those who argue that climate scepticism is much stronger in 'Anglo-Saxon' countries, such as the US, UK, Canada and Australia, as measured by its presence in the media." Several studies have shown there are much higher percentages of climate skeptics in the US and UK than in other developed nations. It's time to call out the oil industry and their bought off "scientists" who are destroying the planet to make short-term profits.
No Booze During Official Trips
The party may be over at the Secret Service. The agency has adopted tougher policies following the prostitution scandal in Colombia. Among the new restrictions: no booze during official trips or within 10 hours of reporting on duty. The new policy puts in black-and-white what agency leaders say was always the unwritten code of conduct. The Washington Post first obtained the documents, which also restrict what agents can say on Facebook and other social media sites. The paper reported Secret Service agents have to sign non-disclosure agreements now. They forbid employees from sharing sensitive security details or personal information about the people they're protecting.

ARMED SUSPECT WOUNDED BY TROOPER IN HARFORD CO.
(White Hall, MD) – An armed suspect sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound after pointing his shotgun at a trooper responding to his Harford County residence.
The suspect is identified as John E. Murphy, 52, of the 1400 block of Norrisville Road, White Hall, Md. Murphy is currently receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the shoulder at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Troopers from the Bel Air Barrack were dispatched to the residence for a possible armed suicidal subject shortly after 1:30 p.m., today. Gail Isennock called 911 advising her boyfriend was in the residence with a firearm stating he wanted to be killed by police. When troopers arrived, they were contacted outside the residence by Isenock. Troopers confirmed the information and attempted to establish a perimeter around the residence. The suspect exited the rear of the residence and pointed a shotgun at one of the responding troopers. In fear for his life, the trooper fired his shotgun striking the suspect in the left shoulder and left arm.
According to the preliminary investigation, the trooper, who was in full uniform, immediately identified himself and gave verbal commands ordering Murphy to put down his shotgun and surrender. Murphy refused and pointed the shotgun at the trooper. In fear for his life, TFC Quinn Dobbins fired one shot from his departmental approved 12 gauge shotgun.
EMS personnel were summoned to the scene. Murphy was transported by the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Department ambulance to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Maryland State Police investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. State Police crime scene technicians processed the house and the yard for evidence. A 410 bolt action shotgun was recovered from the ground where the suspect was standing near the residence.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded and are conducting the investigation, which is procedure in police involved shootings. They will be reviewing evidence developed in this investigation with the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine what criminal charges will be filed against Murphy in connection with today’s incident. Investigators will also present the State’s Attorney’s Office with their completed investigation for review, which is procedure in police involved shootings.
TFC Dobbins is an eight-year veteran of the Maryland State Police. TFC Dobbins has been placed on routine administrative leave, which is procedure in police involved shootings. The State Police Internal Affairs Unit will also be conducting an investigation.

More Than 7,000 Postal Workers Are Taking Early Retirement Packages
Mail handlers will leave with an incentive of $15,000. For postmasters, it's 20,000. The Postal Service told Government Executive it had expected that many employees to take the offer. But it's just a drop in the bucket for an agency that wants to cut around 150,000 jobs to climb out of the red. It recently announced plans to offer a much bigger buyout to members of the American Postal Workers Union. Nearly 120,000 employees are eligible. The agency expects up to 20,000 workers to take it.
Ambassador Chris Stevens Investigation Finally Gets Started
The State Department panel investigating the Sept. 11 attack on Benghazi is getting down to work. Foreign Policy reports, the Accountability Review Board is chaired by former under secretary of State Thomas Pickering. Former Joint Chief chairman Adm. Mike Mullen is also a member. The board met for the first time late last week. The attack on the U.S. Consulate left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Also killed were information management officer Sean Smith, and security contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

Border Patrol Update
It looks like Border Patrol agents opened fire on each other last week in an incident that took the life of one agent. The FBI said, based on preliminary evidence, it seems Nicholas Ivie died in an accidental shooting. Ivie and two other agents were responding to an alarm. It had been triggered by a sensor aimed at spotting people entering the United States illegally. The head of the Border Patrol agents' union said it appeared Ivie opened fire on two colleagues, thinking they were armed smugglers. They returned fire. One of the agents was wounded but has left the hospital. The other was not harmed.
Romney Biggest Debate Winner In History
Mitt Romney scored the biggest presidential debate win in history last week, according to a new poll released by Gallup Monday morning. Moreover, in three days of post-debate polling, he is tied with President Barack Obama in the race for the White House.
More
Gallup found that by a 72 percent to 20 percent margin, voters thought Romney did a better job during the debate than Obama. Independents gave Romney a big win — he won 70-19 among unaffiliated voters. And by a 10-point margin, even Democrats said that Romney won.
The 52-point overall gap between Romney and Obama accounts for the biggest debate wallop Gallup has ever found, managing editor Jeffrey M. Jones wrote:
Gallup has assessed opinion on who did better in most past presidential debates; some of these polls were conducted the night of the debate with pre-recruited samples of debate watchers immediately after it concluded, and some were conducted with more general samples of Americans in the days that followed the debate. Across all of the various debate-reaction polls Gallup has conducted, Romney's 52-point win is the largest Gallup has measured. The prior largest margin was 42 points for Bill Clinton over George H.W. Bush in the 1992 town hall debate.

Gas hits $6 per gallon in San Diego
As gas prices in California hit a record high for the third day in a row, a station in San Diego County was charging $5.779 a gallon for regular gas and almost $6 a gallon for premium.
Qwik Korner at 2015 East Valley Parkway in Escondido was charging $1.11 more than the state average of $4.558 a gallon for regular unleaded gas. Premium was going for $5.99 a gallon.
Sobhani Becomes Surprise Contender By Pouring Millions Into Sleepy U.S. Senate Race
The U.S. Senate campaign in Maryland was plodding along quietly this fall. Democrat Ben Cardin, the incumbent liberal seeking a second term, was blithely fending off upstart conservative Republican Dan Bongino, a political novice who left a career in the Secret Service to try to end Cardin’s 46-year career in elected office. Suddenly in September, independent Rob Sobhani began popping up on TV screens across Maryland. He talked directly to voters about his plans to create thousands of jobs with billions in private investment and he was spending millions of his own money to get his message out.

Maryland Incumbents In Congress Dodge Debates
A funny thing happened last Tuesday in Ellicott City. Two incumbent congressmen actually sat down with their opponents and talked about issues. Otherwise, incumbents across Maryland – mostly Democrats – are avoiding engaging their challengers in any kind of discussion that goes beyond trading charges in mailers, ads and press releases.

WATCH THIS 16-YEAR-OLD CHEERLEADER BREAK THE WORLD RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE BACK HANDSPRINGS
16-year-old Texas cheerleader Miranda Ferguson landed herself a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records after performing a dizzying 35 back handsprings during a Friday night football game.
According to Fox4, the stunt was roughly a year in the making after Ferguson did an unexpected twenty handsprings in a row during a game last year. Her enterprising friends, seeing the potential, soon discovered Ferugson was a mere twelve handsprings away from breaking a world record.
Wicomico Graduates Excel in Securing Scholarship Dollars; Class Of 2012 Set New Standard
The many Wicomico County seniors and their parents who are already making plans for where to go to college next year – and how to pay for it – can take hope in the knowledge that Wicomico County students have been able to secure an ever increasing amount of scholarship dollars to fund higher education.
The class of 2012 tallied $15,710,487 in merit, athletic, academic, senatorial, need-based and other scholarships. That total was a 54% increase over the previous year’s total of $8.5 million.
“The increase in awarded scholarship money shows the academic strength of the students graduating from Wicomico County Schools,” said Lori Batts, Supervisor of Counseling for Wicomico Schools. “Our students have really hit the mark in order to be eligible for the scholarships that are out there. There is an increased awareness of the rigorous course work that we offer in Advanced Placement classes, and the fact that performance at this level is needed to be offered college academic scholarships. There is also student and parent awareness that the process of getting ready for college and scholarships begins much earlier than the senior year – and even earlier than high school.”
October 17 will be an important day for college and career planning for many Wicomico secondary students. Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 should mark their calendars now for Wednesday, Oct. 17 for the PSAT/NMSQT, an early measure of academic preparedness for college. The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered Oct. 17 for all students in grade 10. The school system will pay the exam cost for all 10th-graders; 9th- and 11th-graders may also sign up for the exam through the guidance office. The PSAT/NMSQT serves as an excellent preparation tool for the SAT, provides an evaluation of students’ academic skills, aids in college and career planning, and serves as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Corp. program, through which students can receive scholarships and recognition. Additional information is available in high school guidance offices.
New this year is the ReadiStep assessment for all Wicomico students in grade 8. Like the PSAT/NMSQT, the ReadiStep is a College Board test. It is designed to help identify students for potential enrollment in higher-level high school courses (such as Advanced Placement) that will prepare them for college and career success.
Joe, I'll Be Blunt

Joe -- We're about to get hit with an avalanche of negative ads. Romney-allied outside groups have already lined up more than $23 million in television spending for this week alone.
Joe, I'll be blunt: They are trying to buy this election, and we're the only ones who are standing in their way. Don't wait any longer to take ownership of this campaign.
We need to keep fighting and get the back of the guy who's got ours -- will you chip in today? Thanks.
Let's keep this up.

Dear David,
Hmmmm, let me see now. This coming from a campaign that told Donald Trump he better have at least a Billion Dollars to run against President Obama. Too bad, too sad. I get at least 10 e-mail messages from Obama and his minions BEGGING for money. If there's one thing I can't stand it's an entitleist begging for even more money.

Easy Come, Easy Go?
An associate recently said to me, John Robinson has more money then sense.
It would seem that John's recently opened newspaper has disappeared from Salisbury driveways for good. I spoke with John over a week ago and he still had hope his newspaper would come back. He gave me details of their problems and I assured him that what he had told me would remain off the record.
It's unfortunate because I know John made quite a hefty financial investment but money doesn't mean you can successfully run a business you have to rely on the people you hire to make it work. Many have challenged why John would hire Sarah Lake, immediately after being terminated from the Daily Times. The only reply I can give is, he either likes to give people a second chance or he simply likes the underdogs.

Enter Detroit At Your Own Risk!
"Detroit is America's most violent city; its homicide rate is the highest in the country." Detroit Police department's "Enter At Your Own Risk" warning to citizens came at a rally yesterday as they fear under-staffing in the midst of what CBS [3] reports as "the explosion in violent crime" leaves police in "deplorable, dangerous, and war-like conditions." While the union presses for more staff - or higher wages to compensate for the risk - we are sure Snake Plissken can be relied upon to rescue GM's CEO if he needs it.
America's Hijackers - Where Are They Now?
Spoiler Alert: They’re mostly still in office (so much for building suspense).
On October 3, 2008, 338 elected officials (263 House reps, 74 Senators and 1 President) took it upon themselves to save America from certain financial doom by passing the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, completely ignoring the will of the American people, opting instead to fulfill a Thomas Jefferson prophesy:
“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.”
~ Thomas Jefferson
Texas representative Ron Paul had this to say [17]:
“The money for this bailout does not just materialize out of thin air. The entire burden will be borne by the taxpayers, not now, because that is politically unacceptable, but in the future….our children and grandchildren will be burdened with increased taxes in order to pay that increased debt…. For years, many people have been warning about the housing bubble and the inevitable bust. Congress ignored the impending storm, and responded to this crisis with a poorly thought-out piece of legislation that will only further harm the economy. We ought to be ashamed.”
The most memorable component of that piece of treason legislation was the $700B TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program), which was scrapped by Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson 11 days later in favor of the Capital Purchase Program (CPP), which injected money directly into banks. In February 2009, new Treasury Secretary Turbo Geithner ended the CPP and announced the Capital Assistance Program (CAP), which also blasted money directly into banks.
Fun Fact: Hankenstein Paulson worked at Goldman Sachs for 32 years and served as Treasury Secretary for 31 months.
'Matchmaker' Rev. Jeremiah Wright 'provided cover for gays'
After nearly four years in office, many Americans still express frustration that much about Barack Obama remains a mystery as establishment media remain incurious about the Democratic president, while seemingly ready to dispatch crack investigative teams at a moment’s notice to probe into the personal lives of Republican figures such as Sarah Palin. Largely ignored in 2008 was research by the Hillary Clinton campaign based on contacts developed with members of the church Obama attended for two decades, Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. This is the first of a series of articles WND has developed from months of in-person interviews with church members who have known Barack and Michelle Obama over many years. The sources requested that their identities not be published because they believe their disclosures would put their security at risk.
NEW YORK – Ten years ago, the New York Times reported on a growing underground subculture in the black community known as Down Low, comprised largely of men who secretly engage in homosexual activity while living “straight” lives in public.
'SNL' Spoofs Obama's Debate Performance
Many have tried to explain President Obama's weak debate performance on Wednesday, but 'SNL' may have finally nailed down the real reason. When Obama wished the First Lady a happy anniversary during his opening remarks, perhaps it was more of an apology than a shout-out.
The cold open sketch saw Jay Pharoah and Jason Sudeikis reprising their roles as Barack Obama and Mitt Romney respectively, plus a surprise appearance by former cast member Chris Parnell as everyone's least favorite moderator, Jim Lehrer.
SWING-STATE STUNNER: 'DREAMS' MAILED TO 2.7 MILLION
Election battlegrounds will soon see 'true story' of Obama's radical origins
Filmmaker Joel Gilbert has mailed 2.7 million copies of his full-length documentary DVD, “Dreams from My Real Father,” to households in key swing states, with 1.5 million going to Florida, 700,000 to Colorado and 500,000 to Iowa.
This follows an earlier mailing last month, in which Gilbert sent 1.38 million DVDs of “Dreams from My Real Father” to households in swing state Ohio and an additional 100,000 to New Hampshire and 80,000 to Nevada.
Gilbert told WND the direct mail program is aimed at bypassing the mainstream media blackout on his film.
“It’s shocking that in the land of the First Amendment, in the ‘information age’ no less, a state of censorship exists on so many levels in the American media today,” Gilbert said.
By mailing millions of DVDs to households in swing states, Gilbert aims to get his message heard despite the media blackout: “As long as the major media refuse to cover my film, we are going to continue this publicity campaign by shipping DVDs state-by-state, million-by-million, until the media covers the findings in ‘Dreams from My Real Father.’”
Gilbert argues in the documentary that Frank Marshall Davis, the radical poet and journalist who was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, was the real, biological and ideological father of Barack Obama, not Barack Obama, the Kenyan, who came from Africa in 1959 to attend the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
“Barack Obama built his political career on personal appeal – the son of a Kenyan goat herder who stood above politics,” he explained.
“However, ‘Dreams from My Real Father’ demonstrates that Obama has a deeply disturbing family background, which he intentionally obscured, to hide a Marxist political foundation. Dreams from My Real father is the story Barack Obama should have told, revealing his true agenda for ‘fundamentally transforming America.’”
The logic behind the direct mail campaign
TWITTER EXPLODES AFTER BLACK ACTRESS ENDORSES ROMNEY AS THE ‘ONLY CHOICE FOR YOUR FUTURE’
Actress Stacey Dash, who has starred in everything from the 90′s hit Clueless to CSI, prompted a firestorm on Twitter after publicly endorsing Republican nominee Mitt Romney, and then standing by her opinion.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,” Dash wrote on her official Twitter page , accompanied by a photo of herself with an American flag.
Not long after, presumed Obama supporters began insulting Dash for her opinion, saying she isn’t “black” enough, several even asking if the actress would just “kill herself.”
Report Slams Military's Recent Camouflage Uniforms
A government watchdog issued a scathing report Friday blasting the U.S. military for the way it has developed camouflage uniforms over the past decade, putting troops at risk and wasting millions of dollars.
The Government Accountability Office picked out the Air Force and Army as extreme offenders among the services lambasting their development of the Airman Battle Uniform in 2002 and the Army Combat Uniform in 2003.
Each service has developed its own camouflage uniform over the past ten years. Military service leaders have introduced seven new patterns -- two desert, two woodland and three universal -- since 2002.
GAO officials urged Defense Department leaders to work together and avoid the "fragmented approach" the different services have used in the past.
GAO investigators issued their report four months before Army leaders plan to pick out a new family of camouflage soldiers. The Army launched its massive camouflage improvement plan in 2009 when its pixilated Universal Camouflage Pattern came under scrutiny from soldiers, lawmakers and the Army test community.
Two studies conducted by the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center -- one completed in 2009 and the other in 2006, showed that the UCP performed poorly when compared to multiple camouflage patterns such as the Marine Corps desert pattern and MultiCam.
In June 2009, Pennsylvania's Democratic Rep. John Murtha, who was then chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, got involved in camouflage issue. Murtha pushed the service to look for a better camouflage pattern after receiving complaints from sergeants about the UCP's poor performance in the war zone.
Murtha died in 2010, but his directive prompted the Army to launch a multi-phase camouflage effort. Many patterns were evaluated in Afghanistan, but MultiCam was the clear winner for the country's multi-terrain environment.
Critics allege that the Army has wasted $5 billion on uniforms and equipment all printed in the inadequate UCP. The GAO estimates that the Army will have to spend another $4 billion on uniforms and equipment over the next five years when it selects its new family of camouflage patterns.
Occupiers F-Bomb Columbus In 'Anti-Capitalist Convergence' Protesting Discovery Of America
They don’t just hate Wall Street; the waning Occupy movement has issues with American history, too. In protests around the United States, Occupy Wall Street activists are taking a stand against Columbus Day.
Occupy Oakland, the most radical of the Occupy groups, held an anti-Columbus protest Oct. 6 in San Francisco under the call to “F*** Columbus” – West Coast Anti-Colonial, Anti-Capitalist Convergence.” (The Occupiers used the four-letter word liberally in their Sept. 28 posting and during the protest.)
According to a video purportedly from the event, a fight broke out as police attempted to restrain the protesters. The Occupiers went from chanting: “No justice, no peace, f*** the police” to what an unnamed video announcer called a “huge fight in the street right now between the police and protesters.” The video was only slightly longer than six minutes long, but it didn’t indicate a large crowd at the protest.
HAS NASA COME TO SALISBURY?
No, no yet.

COLUMBIA CLASSMATE: OBAMA USING IRS TO PUNISH ME
The former Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate who has claimed Barack Obama was unknown to him and his fellow Columbia University classmates charges the president is using the Internal Revenue Service to punish and silence him.
Wayne Allyn Root – a pre-law and political science major in the class of 1983, like the president – told WND that despite a spotless tax record, he became the target of an audit in January 2011 when he received an “unsettling” call from an IRS agent who called himself a fan of his and considered it “an honor” to audit him
Root won a complete victory three months ago in tax court, which found no taxes owed in his 2007 and 2008 filings. But then, he said, something shocking happened – something his tax attorney has never heard of in his entire career. Root was hit with a new audit just five days later, for 2009 and 2010.
Obama's Agenda: Overwhelm The System
Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency.
Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.Â
Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
Coal Exports Could Face Roadblocks if Democrats Maintain Senate Control
Companies that want to export coal to Asia could find roadblocks in their path if Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) becomes chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
Exporters have identified five ports in Oregon and Washington from which to send coal to Asia. Nations in that region, which have rapidly expanding economies and loose environmental standards, are a coveted destination for coal producers as use of the fossil fuel drops in the United States.
Swing State Polls Are Rigged
After Wednesday night's smashing debate victory for Romney, we may expect the national and swing state polls to change in the Republican's direction. But not by as much as they should. These polls are biased in favor of Obama and here's the data to prove it:
From noted Republican pollster John McLaughlin comes a clear and convincing exposé of the bias of media polls in the swing states of Florida, Ohio, and Virginia.
McLaughlin reviewed exit polls in each state for the past four elections. From this data about who actually voted, he found that the party divisions manifest on election day have little to do with the samples upon which the media is basing its polling. And, coincidentally, it is always the Republican vote that tends to be undercounted.

From this data about who actually voted, he found that the party divisions manifest on election day have little to do with the samples upon which the media is basing its polling. And, coincidentally, it is always the Republican vote that tends to be undercounted.
In Florida, for example, McLaughlin finds that the average of the last four elections produced a turnout of 37% Democrats and 38% Republicans. But here is the partisan distribution of the most recent Florida media polls:
9-26: CBS/NY Times = 36% Dem / 27% Rep
9-23: Wash Post = 35% Dem / 29% Rep
So the media polls reflect a 9 point and six point Democratic edge even though the actual experience of the past four elections has been a 1 point Republican advantage.
Things are no better in Ohio. Here, McLaughlin finds a 2 point Democratic edge in the past four elections (38% Dem, 36% Rep). But the media polls show vastly more Democrats and fewer Republicans in their samples:
9-26: CBS/NY Times = 35% Dem / 26% Rep
9-23: Wash Post = 35% Dem / 27% Rep
9-11: NBC/Wall St Journal = 38% Dem / 28% Rep
Once again, the actual exit poll-measured vote in Ohio shows a 2 point Democratic edge, but the polls reflect Democratic advantages of 9 points, 8 points, and 10 points respectively.
In Virginia, it's the same story. The last four elections have a combined 1 point Republican edge, 37-36. But the media polls show a big pro-Democratic bias:
10/2: Roanoke College = Dem 36% / Rep 27%
9/17: CBS/NYTimes = Dem 35% / Rep 26%
9/16: Washington Post = Dem 35% / Rep 24%
9/11: NBC/Wall St Journal = Dem 31% / Rep 26%
So instead of showing a 1 point Republican edge, these media poll samples show Democratic advantages of 9,9,11, and 5.
The correct conclusion to draw from all these polls is that Romney is comfortably ahead in Virginia and Florida while he holds a slight lead in Ohio. And, remember these polls are all pre-debate!
Also, bear in mind that the undecided vote in all of these polls usually goes against the incumbent.
That's the real story.

Capital Fact Checker: Dream Act Could Drive Up Tuition?
The claim
Help Save Maryland, a citizen group that opposes illegal immigration, is urging residents to vote against the Dream Act, which is Question 4 on the general election ballot.
If approved, the law would allow illegal immigrant students to pay in-state tuition rates — first at a community college, then at state universities — if they meet certain criteria, such as graduating from a Maryland high school and having parents who paid taxes.
The group's radio ad warns voters of "serious consequences" if Question 4 is approved, then directs them toHelpSaveMaryland.org , where 21 different claims are listed.
Change Maryland On Martin O'Malley's Appearance On CNBC
Annapolis - Change Maryland questioned Martin O'Malley's misuse of facts today on an interview this morning on business media outlet CNBC. While it's common for the Maryland Governor to launch hyper-partisan attacks such as the outrageous assertion that Republicans are somehow engaged in a conspiracy to impede job growth, his public appearances also require continuous monitoring for the purposes of accuracy when it comes to his own record.
"We are very familiar with Martin O'Malley putting out falsehoods about his own record when it comes to Maryland's economic performance," said Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan. "Maryland is a laggard in economic performance in our region, so he compares us to states like Michigan and Nevada. The difference in those hard-hit states is that there top elected officials are dealing with structural problems in their economies while our Governor enjoys seeing himself on TV and making partisan attacks."
The following points were made today on CNBC followed by Change Maryland's clarifications:
Change Maryland: A balanced approach in Maryland means raising taxes and fees 24 times, removing an additional $2.4 billion out of the economy each year. Meanwhile, the most recent 2012 National Governor's Association report on state budgets shows Maryland's general fund spending has increased 15.5%, three times the national average, and the highest in the region between fiscal years 2011 and 2013.

2:31 Martin O'Malley: "Last year our state ranked 9th in terms of the rate of job growth."
Change Maryland: Martin O'Malley has earned a reputation for cherry picking data to his liking. Under his term as Governor, since 2007, Maryland lost 36,400 jobs. Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia saw higher rates of job growth during this period. This year, from January to August, Maryland's loss of 6800 jobs is worse than any state in the region except West Virginia and is a sharp contrast to Virginia, which has gained 8000 jobs during this period.

3:00 Martin O'Malley: "We have the the 3rd lowest state and local tax burden in the nation as a percentage of income."
Change Maryland: Maryland's own non-partisan policy analysts characterize the state's reliance on the individual income tax as "high" compared to other states in a report issued for lawmakers for the 2012 General Assembly session. The Department of Legislative Services notes that Maryland's current collection of individual income tax revenue is the second highest in the nation as a percentage of personal incomes.

Martin O'Malley: "Maryland enjoys a AAA bond-rating."
Change Maryland: Moody's Investors Service maintains a negative outlook, meaning the rating could go down anytime. Moody's cites “Maryland's over reliance on federal jobs in an era of retrenchment.” Standard and Poor's states that its downside risk for its rating includes the possibility of ”significant reductions in federal funding that currently flows to the state.”

From the Washington Post Mail Bag
I guess this election is over because this is the quality of critique that is showing up as Letters to the Editor in the Washington Post.
The Post reported that Mr. Romney pops popcorn at home and puts it in his wife’s purse when they go to the movies. A political adviser described watching him walk to a nearby convenience store to bring back Perrier to drink with a meal. He does not want to spend the extra money charged for the same products at the cinema or restaurant.
At the movies this is a clear violation of policy. At the restaurant it is less clear, but it is clearly wrong. Is this what we want from a presidential candidate? Someone who sneaks food into the movies and is unwilling to pay a restaurant its prices?
I expect better of my children and have taught them better.

The Secret Debate Contract.Absolute MUST Watch
While I post a lot of videos, it is not often I say you have to 100% make sure to take the time to watch them. This is one of those times. At first, I was intimidated by the 23 minute run time considering all of the news material I try to get through every day, but I was completely blown away by the information presented by George Farah, the author of “No Debate.”
While pretty much everyone reading this already understands that the elections are a joke run by the Two Party Dictatorship, this video explains exactly how the debates are rigged to ensure no Third Party candidate can ever participate and to ensure that neither of the cronies on stage ever gets hit by a difficult question. How is this achieved? A “secret debate contract.” Yep, just another conspiracy FACT.
If you are pressed for time go to minute two and let it run for five minutes. I promise you will not turn it off.
