'Jane Doe' Found In N.Y. Identified

New York (CNN) -- Authorities have identified a teenager believed to be suffering from amnesia who was found on the streets of New York two weeks ago.

Police say a CNN viewer in Maryland identified the young woman, who mysteriously turned up in Manhattan two weeks ago, claiming to have no memory of her family, her home or even her own name.

The 18 year old whose name is not yet being released, is in the process of being reunited with her family. They are from Washington state and are on their way to New York, New York Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne said on Saturday.

A photo of the woman, who has been referred to as Jane Doe, was circulated by police and aired on CNN this week. The viewer in Maryland was familiar with her situation and knew she had been missing from her family earlier this month.

The girl was found in Midtown Manhattan around 12:30 a.m. October 9 outside the Covenant House youth shelter, although the organization said that she was not a resident at the time and did not appear as if she intended to seek refuge at the facility.

52 Children Recovered, 60 Alleged Child Pimps Arrested In Crackdown

(CNN) -- Law enforcement authorities have recovered 52 children and arrested 60 pimps allegedly involved in child prostitution, the FBI announced Monday.

More than 690 people in all were arrested on state and local charges, the FBI stated.
The arrests were made over the past three days as part of a nationwide law enforcement initiative conducted on the federal, state and local levels, the bureau said.

"Child prostitution continues to be a significant problem in our country, as evidenced by the number of children rescued through the continued efforts of our crimes against children task forces," Kevin Perkins, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division, said in a written statement.

"There is no work more important than protecting America's children and freeing them from the cycle of victimization."

The three-day operation, tagged Operation Cross Country IV, included enforcement actions in 36 cities across 30 FBI divisions nationwide. It is part of the FBI's ongoing Innocence Lost National Initiative, which was created in 2003 with the goal of ending sex trafficking of children in the United States.

The initiative, conducted with assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, has so far resulted in the recovery of almost 900 children, according to the FBI. It has also led to more than 500 convictions.

Ice Cream Recall

Unilever United States, in cooperation with the FDA, is voluntarily recalling a limited number of tubs of Breyers ice cream because it was mispackaged and may contain undeclared wheat.

The company say people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product.

On a limited number of tubs, the lid describes the product as "Breyers All Natural Cookies & Cream" ice cream, and the tub portion of the package describes the product as "Breyers All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream. The product inside of the tub is "All Natural Cookies & Cream." The ingredient statement on the tub does not declare wheat, which is an ingredient of the Cookies & Cream product.

The mispackaged ice cream product was distributed in Maryland, Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Trinidad and Virginia through retail stores in these locations and adjoining areas. The affected product is being recalled from consumers and retailer store shelves, back rooms and warehouses.

The affected mispackaged product was distributed in 1.5-quart (1.41L) paperboard tubs marked with UPC # 077567254245 located on the side of the tub and in combination with "Best If Used By" dates of FEB1711GH, FEB1811GH and FEB1911GH located on the bottom of the tub.

The allergy alert and recall relates only to the above mentioned mispackaged Breyers®ice cream. No other Breyers ice cream products are affected.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date. In addition to working in cooperation with the FDA, the company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

The recall was initiated after the company received a few consumer complaints about the mispackaged product. It was determined that product containing wheat was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of wheat in the ingredient list on the tub.

Consumers who have purchased the mispackaged Breyers®ice cream with UPC # 077567254245 and in combination with "Best If Used By" dates of FEB1711GH, FEB1811GH and FEB1911GH are urged to discard it immediately and contact the company at 1-877-270-7402for a full refund.

MARYLANDERS DESERVE TO KNOW

Annapolis, MD – President Barack Obama unveiled plans to refocus spending of the government's $700 billion financial bailout away from Wall Street’s big financial institutions and toward small businesses on Main Street.

According to the President, “These entrepreneurial pioneers embody the spirit of possibility, the tireless work ethic, and the simple hope for something better that lies at the heart of the American ideal. And they have always formed the backbone of the American economy,"

Dr. James Pelura, Chairman of the MDGOP, expressed marked skepticism of President Obama’s statement. “To say that small business is the backbone of America’s economy while at the same time forcing higher taxes, more government regulation and numerous other obstacles to the success of business is misleading and borders on dishonest.”

So far, Mr. Obama's attempt to spur the economy has resulted in disaster. Maryland lost 3,608 jobs in September and more than 32,000 jobs since the Stimulus was passed, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website on October 21, 2009. Where is Governor O’Malley? He has been saying that the Recovery Act is about jobs. How many more Marylanders have to become unemployed under these Obama – O’Malley policies?

There is no reason to believe that this new plan will do anything to put Americans back to work.

We'd Like Your Opinion

As many of you know, Salisbury News stated not long ago that we were going to the next level by offering a daily Radio Show as well as our very own daily News Broadcast.

In a recent interview, the Owner of a Cable Network Channel picked up on our intent and has contacted me in reference to offering us, (Salisbury News) my own Show on their Network.

Quite frankly, this is a brand new audience outside our normal daily viewers. They offered a Show every Saturday morning at 11:00 to 11:30 AM and can be seen by almost everyone on the entire Eastern Shore, DE, MD & VA.

So I'm puzzled as to what to do and perhaps with some input from all of you we can better decide what would be best. They'd like to see us go 5 days a week but I'm only one person and I can only be spread so thin.

I want to make sure we continue to deliver our daily information on line as well as provide a very different style of Television News, Opinion & Information. I meet with them tomorrow so if you'd be so kind as to let us know what your thoughts are we'd greatly appreciate it.

BREAKING NEWS: Wesley College Is Under Lock Down

Ireton Vetoes Harbor Pointe Property Donation

Last Tuesday, Jim Ireton vetoed a resolution, saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars in legal expenses, and not one word is spoken. I'm not saying he has lived up to his campaign promises, far from it. However, let's give credit where it's due.

What does this veto mean to the taxpayers? Thousands of dollars in legal expenses for one thing. The President of the Harbor Pointe HOA stood before council and told them they would be creating a legal mess by accepting the donation. Councilwoman Campbell told them they were stupid if they voted for this resolution.

Did Gary Comegys care? NO, it's no secret he's stupid. He pushed forward and his followers, Smith and Shields voted with him, as usual. After hearing Mr. Dreschler speak, they still voted to accept the donation. Comegys never misses an opportunity to line the pockets of Paul Wilber.

Accepting this land as a donation will only continue in rewarding developers for bad behavior, nothing else. Taxpayers in Salisbury have paid out enough with the blessings of the council majority.

The property in question, 3 parcels of common space land owned by Empire Mortgage company. At present there are $17,000 in liens against the property for failure to keep the property in compliance with city code. If the property is donated are the leins to be forgiven? The donation would also allow Empire Mortgage to put any value they choose on it as a tax deduction. At the present time, one parcel is valued at $1,801.00 and two parcels have a value of $0. How can there be no value on two parcels of land?

The notes listed on the side of the plat state clearly, the common space area will be turned over to the Home Owners Association (HOA). Why donate it to the city when the intent is to give it to the HOA? Giving it to the city as a donation would open the city to more legal woes that it can not afford.

Gary Comegys argued strongly to accept the donation of these parcels, WHY? What's in it for him? If it was Comegys intent to make himself appear smart, he failed. The arrogance of Comegys and the council majority is astonishing.

It should also be noted, the HOA of Harbor Pointe wants the property to be brought into compliance by Empire Mortgage (owners), the liens created by their lack of compliance paid and the property turned over to the HOA, as stipulated. Simple! No need for the city to get involved in any of it other than to collect the fines imposed. PERIOD!

Today's Survey Question

Yesterday the MSM stated that the Swine Flu, (H1N1) is no more serious than any other flu. Do you agree, or disagree?

One Man's Opinion

I'm sorry, but it's time to "CRAP OR GET OFF THE FRIGGIN POT". There is sufficient evidence now (if one would only take the time to look) that this nation is in serious trouble. More importantly and most troubling, is that it all appears to be "ON PURPOSE".

For those of you who voted for and still support this administration, it's time to wake up and take an objective look at what's been happening to the country you love (at least I hope that's the case) since January 20th of this year--the systematic dismantling of its economic, national security, political, and social framework--by a group of individuals who, by all outward appearances, do NOT support, appreciate, or understand the principles on which this nation was founded. In fact, the goal seems to be the total destruction of those principles and institutions, beginning with the Constitution.

Some of you (on the left) denigrate those of us who are angry and dismayed by Mr. Obama's anti-American agenda. Can you not understand why?

Let's say that you founded a company and established as its foundation that the company would always conduct business in an honest and open manner. Further, that the company would only buy raw materials from other companies with similar values, and that the company's employees would all share in the company's success by way of a profit--sharing plan and other incentives. As a way to ensure these values persist, you incorporate the business and include these things in your bylaws.

Hundreds of years pass but the company is still managed by descendants of the founder. Along comes a smooth-talking, seemingly accomplished individual who is able to become president of the company. He then spends the next 9 to 12 months bad-mouthing the founders and their vision for the company, mandating changes that directly conflict with the values and principles that the founders set in place. The profit-sharing plan is shelved because he thinks he has a better plan.

Who among you would not understand why the present day descendants in that company would oppose this?

This analogy is not perfect, but it clearly demonstrates why we feel the need to disagree with what's happening. Everything I hold dear is at risk of disappearing. The country that I knew is rapidly vanishing. Am I concerned? You're damned right I'm concerned! Every American with even a micro-liter of patriotism ought to be concerned too. And then, when the magnitude of what these executive orders are capable of doing is factored in, my concern multiplies to stratospheric levels.

Let me be clear on something. I'm not blaming Obama for all of this. Most of those orders were instituted by previous presidents--some republican. I hold them responsible for that. But, we must face reality. With all of George Bush's faults (and he had many) I don't believe anyone (including liberals) can honestly say that they believe that he hated America. There is no question that this president does. That's why he wants to "fundamentally change" it (his words, not mine).

Further, he seems to be following the template developed by one Saul Alinsky, in his book, "Rules for Radicals". This is scary stuff and you folks on the left need to pay attention to it all. You voted for change, but is the change being forced on us what you really want?

It would take a book to literally list all the "changes" that I, and most others on the right consider to be unacceptable to a free society. It could be that most on the left are simply unaware of many of these "changes". If this is the case, I want to encourage you to broaden your sources of information. You simply cannot trust those in the media to honestly and fully inform you about what's happening in Washington. They just won't. Although they have been demonized by this White House, Fox News is NOT the enemy. I listen to Fox and I know. Are they my ONLY source? Heck no! I have many. I even listen to some leftist sources to get their perspective.

There is an ever-widening information gap between liberals and conservatives in this country. That must change if we are to understand each other's viewpoint. Conservatives are aware of more information relative to current events than most liberals are because our concern is forcing us to become informed (PLEASE--Don't respond by trying to argue with me on this--you will lose). We have begun to delve back into the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Declaration is no longer some obscure relic from the past having very little significance to our world today. We can now spell "Federalist Papers" and even know what they are. Various quotes from our founders are beginning to find their way into our hearts and minds. Because we're smarter? No! Because we are concerned. And that concern has caused many who have never before been politically active (except maybe at the ballot box) to get involved.

"WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK"! That's all.

I could go on, but let me just say this. I'm done playing with kid gloves. These are serious times with grave consequences. There is information available that all Americans NEED to know. I understand that some won't WANT to hear or know. And that's fine. I've had several "friends" write me to tell me to take them off my mailing list, and in each case, I have complied without issue. It frustrates me because, well, it just does!

Therefore, in the interest of alleviating any future frustration, I am requesting that anyone who no longer wants to hear from me, just tell me so. A simple, "Please remove me from your list", is all you need do. I will reply to that email with, "Done", delete your name, and that will be the end of it. You will never hear from me again.

Otherwise, I intend to continue writing and sending information that I think is important. I promise to vet that info to the extent possible to ensure relevancy, accuracy, and timeliness. I promise NOT to bash Obama--however, I WILL bring attention to issues that may further illustrate an agenda that is decidedly anti-American. If that's how you define bashing, I suggest you request to be taken off my list now.

My country's future is at stake and unlike many of our so-called elected leaders, the oath that I took to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States means something to me.

Nuff said.

Joshua

Boxer Fernando Guerrero, The Warrior & The Pussy Cat

I received a phone call about a few days ago from Fernando Guerrero asking what I was doing the 24th. I told him I was expected to go to Annapolis to clear out my Mother's estate but I asked, what's up? He told me that he was quietly getting together with all the kids and their Parents at Pemberton Manor. I felt kinda bad but Mom's estate was something we wanted to clear out since so many of my Family had to travel 4.5 hours each way to get there. Well it turns out they didn't need me there on Saturday so I ended up with a free day and quickly sent Fernando a text message saying I'd be there.

Folks, this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable days I have experienced in a very long time. Coach Hal Chernoff and his beautiful Bride Nancy were there along with Fernando's entire Family. Fernando purchased 35 pizza's and fed the entire neighborhood. In fact, when all was said and done there was only one box of pizza left and they may have disappeared as I left a little early, (after 3 hours of being there).

The kids had a BLAST! They played tug of war, they played basketball, they jumped rope, Fernando was teaching kids how to box, they cleaned up the entire area of any debris and of course they ate lots of pizza.

Fernando Guerrero is not just someone I enjoy promoting on Salisbury News. Fernando Guerrero is a very close and personal friend, along with his entire Family, which includes Hal & Nancy Chernoff. This young man has not, (nor ever will) forget where he came from.

I'm very fortunate to have such friends.

GOVERNOR O’MALLEY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO SUPPORT NEW POLICE OFFICERS

LAUREL, MD (October 26. 2009) – Today, Governor Martin O’Malley followed through on a commitment to support federally funded additional police officers with funding for equipment, uniforms, and other needs not covered by federal grants the allowed for the hiring of 112 police officers throughout Maryland. In July, Governor O’Malley joined Vice President Biden to announce $23 million in COPS program grants to create 112 police officer positions in Maryland. Governor O’Malley has directed additional funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help communities purchase radios, bullet-proof vests, computers, and other essential equipment to support each newly hired officer. Maryland is the first state in the nation to provide matching funds for equipment purchase, and will provide up to $10,000 per officer.

“We saw the value of COPS program first hand in the City of Baltimore where we worked with law enforcement and the people of our City to take our streets and neighborhoods back for our families and, together, achieved a 40 percent reduction in violent crime,” said Governor O’Malley, noting that a contributing factor to the success in Baltimore City was a $24 million COPS grant allowing the hiring of 200 additional police officers. “There is no greater or more solemn obligation we have as public servants than the protection of our citizens. Thanks to the leadership of President Obama and our federal delegation, local law enforcement agencies have an unprecedented opportunity to create or save jobs that directly impact the safety of our neighborhoods, and we’re pleased to have the opportunity to relieve the burden of the cost of additional equipment from those local agencies.”

Today, Governor O’Malley announced the first three supporting grants to Baltimore ($448,000), Cambridge ($15,000), and Salisbury ($35,000). Additional grants will be distributed as the application process through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention is completed for each jurisdiction.

As Chairwoman of the Senate Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Subcommittee, Senator Mikulski included $1 billion in the federal checkbook for the COPS Hiring Recovery Program in the economic recovery bill. This funding not only prevented layoffs of police officers nationwide; it made it possible for states, like Maryland, to hire additional officers.

“Law enforcement agencies work around the clock to keep our communities safe. We have a responsibility to ensure they are not walking a thin blue line. Our cops need a full team to combat violence, protect families, and fight the crime that's destroying neighborhoods,” Senator Mikulski said. “I was proud to include $1 billion in the federal checkbook for the COPS hiring program. This funding means more cops on the beat from Prince George's to Princess Anne, patrolling our streets and protecting our families.”

The federal Recovery Act provides $1 billion in grant funding to the Department of Justice for the COPS Hiring Recovery Program. The COPS office received applications from 7,272 law enforcement agencies requesting more than 39,000 officer positions nationwide. COPS grants provide 100 percent funding for three years of entry-level salaries and benefits, and are awarded to localities and/or police departments to hire or rehire additional career law enforcement officers.

Following the passage of President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the O’Malley-Brown Administration moved swiftly to capture more than $26 million in additional federal funding to put state-of-the-art law enforcement and information sharing technologies into the hands of our police at every level across our State. The O’Malley-Brown Administration is expanding the use of smart law enforcement technology across Maryland, including advanced fingerprinting technology, eliminating backlogs and expanding our DNA database, tracking and monitoring repeat violent offenders, and increased drug treatment funding. The O’Malley Brown Administration is putting families first by making public safety a top priority, with 66 fewer lives lost to homicides in 2008 when compared to 2007, and 40 fewer homicides this year when compared to the same period in 2008.

The Daily Times Continues To Fall Well Behind

Salisbury Wants More Dump Trucks was a Post we put up back on the 19th. We provided documents referencing this vehicle/s and now the Daily Times, (7 days later) feels the need to discuss it HERE.

The City has budgeted $110,000.00 for this vehicle, yet is should cost substantially less. The Mayor was wise to pull the item for further review because Pam Oland did not do her job and properly research the true cost of such a vehicle. Again, go back to our link above to see the kind of figures we provided a week ago.

Here's a big question it seems everyone missed. Did the snow plow on the other dump truck MELT? Why can't they use the plow from the other dump truck????

Can Main Street Catch Up With Wall Street?

The Dow is up and many economists see an end to the recession. Try telling that to the rising ranks of those losing their jobs and houses

On the one hand, the Dow Jones industrial average once again danced around 10,000 last week. Earnings of Caterpillar (CAT), Google (GOOG), and Apple (AAPL) far exceeded expectations. If U.S. gross domestic product rebounds as expected on Oct. 29 and turns positive for the first time in 15 months, it would confirm that the recession ended in the third quarter, at least statistically.

Meanwhile, back on Main Street U.S.A., the picture is drastically different. Unemployment has doubled in a year, to 9.8% in September, and there are about six unemployed Americans for every job opening. Home foreclosure-related filings—including default notices, foreclosure auctions, and bank repossessions—are on pace to reach about 3.5 million this year, up from more than 2.3 million last year. Home prices are stabilizing, and sales of existing homes rose sharply in September, but much of the activity was spurred by the soon-to-expire federal tax credit for first-time home buyers. No wonder that 82% of Americans responding to an ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted Oct. 15-18 say the recession isn't over.

Yankees Oust Angels, Cash In On Another Series

Big-money players deliver in Game 6 for N.Y.’s first AL pennant in 6 years

NEW YORK
- They dashed from the dugout and in from the outfield, swarming Alex Rodriguez in a sea of pinstripes only steps from his spot at third base.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” he said. “I feel like a 10-year-old kid.”

Making it to the World Series for the first time after all those misses will do that to you.

The New York Yankees, baseball’s biggest spenders, finally cashed in with their first pennant in six years Sunday night, beating the Los Angeles Angels 5-2 in Game 6 of the AL championship series behind the savvy pitching of that old October pro, Andy Pettitte.

Next up, New York hosts defending champion Philadelphia in the World Series opener Wednesday night. Cliff Lee is expected to face ALCS MVP CC Sabathia in an enticing pitching matchup between former Cleveland teammates — and the past two AL Cy Young Award winners.

I Could Have Been Big In Chicago, I Know Nothing!

Rod Blagojevich, is the former Illinois Governor who tried to sell Obama 's seat in congress.
Obama was asked, by the press, if he had ever met Gov. Ron Blagojevich.

Barack Obama: "I only saw Rod Blagojevich one time ... and that was in the stands and from a distance at a Chicago Bears Football Game."

(Photo Reuters)

To understand the next 4 years, you have to understand the “world according to Chicago .”
While Chicago is a city in Illinois , it is almost a completely different country when it comes to politics,
with a whole different set of morals and language.

There are only three rules and a “Prime Directive” which anybody can understand.
You don't even need an attorney to understand them --and if you need an attorney, well, you know too much...so look out for Rule #3!

RULE #1...No matter what you see, hear, or do… --you don't know anybody and you don't know nothing!
RULE #2...If you capture something on tape or camera… -- it doesn't reveal nothing!

RULE #3...If you know what everybody knows in Chicago… --well, you still don't know nothing.

The “PRIME DIRECTIVE” in CHICAGO ...No matter what the vote – Democrats win the election.

Now pay close attention!
It's very simple....we'll illustrate. Remember, you know nothing.

These two? They don't know each other! They said they didn't.

The fellas in this picture – They never actually met face to face. What fellas? We don't see nothing!

The guy on the left? For all you know he's Santa Claus.
And the guy on the right... well, he's the Easter Bunny! That's all you need to know.

Go to your eye doctor...your eyes are lying to you! Ca'pish?

Remember Jimmy Hoffa? He knew too much and now, well, now no one knows where he is.
Is the big picture clear? Not these pictures! Remember, You've already forgot them...

Now, ain't that simple?
They don't know each other and they never met!

How is that possible? 'cause they said so!
And don't forget it!

P.S. If you pass this on to your friends, don't forget, you know nothing and they will know nothing.

Puppy Mills

I have worked this past yr with a Rescue Group & the very 1st dog I fostered came from a Puppy Mill in Ohio. Now, due to some health issues, I am limited to only the care of my own animals . I still offer my assistance to the Organization in what ever way I am able because of the good they do for these helpless animals. This letter is my way of "reaching out" to let others know the truth about these Puppy Mills and to encourage you & all your know to adopt from Rescue Groups, The HS, or reputable breeders! Always remember, if you don't see the parents of the puppy-------they are most likely from Puppy Mills!

Something that has truly amazed me over the past year is how many people I've spoken with are totally unaware of what a Puppy Mill is & ---- almost all puppy's in Pet Stores come directly from Puppy Mills , or from a broker who buys from them.

"Pet Smart", here in Salisbury, is to be highly commended because they NO LONGER SELL PUPPIES IN THEIR STORE! They now allow rescue groups in to show their animals up for adoption. Many have been able to find good homes because of Pet Smart! This is definitely something to consider when you go to purchase items for your animals next time.

It was almost a year before I could get up the nerve to look at information or videos about Puppy Mills on web sites. I felt I would not be able to watch some of the things I'd heard about . Finally, I thought ---- ---- you need to know so you will be informed should you speak out about these Mills, & if you do --- look how many could be helped .

I have gone to sites that are not that difficult to watch.-----Yes , they're unbelievable to me, but if I could watch them I know you will be able to also ,without any real stress.

The site to go to is: http://stoppuppymills.org There are several Videos to watch & reading for your knowledge.

Today, I'm sending this out to over 100 people-----If you pass this information on-----think of the good we can do for these helpless animals --- used strictly for breeding & doomed to a life of misery, only to be thrown out & killed when they can no longer reproduce.

Maryland has NO LAWS OR INSPECTORS TO GO INTO PUPPY MILLS!! THIS BUSINESS IS BIG PROFIT! Estimated to bring $2,000 per yr ---- per dog. Rather nice income for those with 2-300 breeding dogs, huh. Sure makes you wonder too why Government isn't stepping in to this. If nothing else opens a blind eyes---- Just look at the tax money they are losing !!

I am asking you to send this mail on to all of your e-mail friends. I thank you for doing this ------------- " FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO VOICE".

Narcissus-In-Chief

Narcissus-in-Chief
by Victor Davis Hanson
NRO’s The Corner

While our Narcissus-in-Chief is frozen gazing at his perfect image in his private pool, choices have to be made in Afghanistan. Consider the following:

(a) We have a Democratically controlled Congress that by and large has supported, since 2004, the Kerry-Obama-Hillary Clinton narrative of a "good" war in Afghanistan, supposedly shamefully neglected by George Bush's neo-con adventure in Iraq, but absolutely vital to the security of the United States, and one entirely winnable — if only we allot sufficient resources.

(b) We have a proven command in Generals McChrystal and Petraeus and their circle of subordinates, who crafted a winning counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq that defeated the terrorists, ensured stability for the fragile constitutional government, and took a tremendous toll on the human and material resources of al Qaeda, as well as the reputation of radical Islam among the Middle East street.

(c) We have thousands of battle-hardened, experienced veteran soldiers and their officers, who know far more about the Middle East in general, and counter-insurgency in particular, than was true when we first deployed either to Afghanistan in 2001, or Iraq in March 2003.

(d) The Islamic world is much less in thrall (polls tell us that) to bin Laden and his advocacy of suicide bombing and terrorism than it was five years ago; Pakistan in general, the victim of numerous terrorist attacks, is far more willing to take concerted action that aids our cause than at any time in the last eight years. And we have a president who by his own admission resonates abroad in a way not true of the past, and will be given a level of international support not usually accorded to American efforts in the Muslim world.

(e) The president has a domestic opposition — entirely unlike that of George Bush's — that is eager to support President Obama to fulfill his promise to win Afghanistan by devoting more resources to the effort.

(f) We have a media mesmerized by Obama, that will withhold criticism of him in Afghanistan in a way that was simply not true of the Bush effort in Iraq, that, nonetheless, proved successful.

(g) We have a split public, but one far more amenable to a surge in Afghanistan than was true in late 2006 of the proposed surge in Iraq.

(h) We should be bolstered by our success in Iraq, and the enemy demoralized by its failure; rather than vice versa.

Given the above, and given that George Bush made a far more difficult choice that saved Iraq, it is hard to figure out why Obama cannot make a simple decision to send troops requested by commanders on the ground.

School Bus Safety

"This is directed to the driver of the black car on Campground Road on Monday morning at 7:10. What was so important that you could not stop or even slow when my child was about to get on the bus? Yes, it was a bit dark, but the bus lights were on and it was almost to a complete stop, but you flew right through without one thought about my child's safety. The bus takes less than 30 seconds to stop and load my child. You couldn't wait 30 seconds out of your busy morning?

Unfortunately you are not the only irresponsible driver on this road. This has happened many times, luckily without dire consequences. You are in good company, though. I've even witnessed the same with a local sheriff's deputy that has children of his own."

PUBLIC STRONGLY OPPOSES HEALTHCARE REFORM

YET OBLIVIOUS CONGRESS PONDERS 5 PUBLIC OPTIONS

CONGRESS ARE YOU LISTENING?

Could it be poor memory or that Congress never fully comprehended the public protests against heathcare reform or health Insurance reform?
While the people say NO, the Senate is pondering five different public options for a bill that the public is vehemently opposed.

Last week the Price Waterhouse Study revealed that insurance premiums will cost $4,000 more per person for annual premiums under HealthCare Reform.

More economic shock came with a warning from Moody's, the rating agencey for the credit worthiness of the United States bonds and Treasury bills, that the once stellar 3 star rating of the United States is likely to be down graded in two to three years. That downgraded rating is without the massive $1,400,000 Trillion expected cost of HealthCare Reform.

CONGRESS IGNORES PUBLIC OUTCRY

These HealthCare Reform Bills are opposed by the citizenry.
The people can not afford higher taxes.
President Obama promised no tax increases.
President Obama stated Health Care Bill must be deficit neutral.
Adding to deficit will impoverish our children and grandchildren.
The Government can not afford to spend money it does not have.
The people can not afford to be taxed.

Let's have reasonable changes:
1. Torte reform
2. Insurance portability
3. Interstate insurance purchase
4. Waste and fraud overhaul of Medicare and Medicaid
(Why the delay in this overhaul? Do this NOW)

MUST CONGRESS BE REMINDED AGAIN ?

NO HEALTH CARE BILLS

MATH: HUSBAND / WIFE

Note on the Refrigerator One Morning

My Dear Wife,

You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you, being 54 years old, can no longer satisfy. I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife. Therefore, after reading this letter, I hope that you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will be spending the evening with my 18 year old secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel. Please don't be upset----I shall be home before midnight.

When the man came home late that night, he found the following letter on the dining room table:

My Dear Husband,

I received your letter and thank you for your honesty about my being 54 years old. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old. As you know, I am a math teacher at our local college. I would like to inform you that while you read this, I will be at the Hotel Fiesta with Michael, one of my students, who is also the assistant tennis coach.

He is young, virile, and like your secretary, is 18 years old. As a successful businessman who has an excellent knowledge of math, you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one small difference - 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18. Therefore, I will not be home until sometime tomorrow.

First Daughters Not Vaccinated Against H1N1

President Obama's school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain. The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus.

CHANGE IN THE CONSTITUTION BY USURPATION ?

Few Americans realize that up until 1937 the Congress of the United States conducted its business within the boundaries of seventeen enumerated powers granted under Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution. The enumerated powers did not come under attack until Franklin Roosevelt's new deal. The court decided ten major cases or groups of cases involving new deal statutes. Eight were ruled unconstitional Roosevelt stated, -
"We have therefore, reached the point as a nation where we must take action to save the Constitution from the Court and the Court from itself." (March 9, 1937)

One of the members of that court, later said in effect: "We voted against the Constitution, on the two held Constitutional, to save the Court." This references Roosevelt's threat to pack the Court.

George Washington warned, -
"Let there be no change in the Constitution by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed."

If the framers of our Constitution intended the powers of Congress to have no boundaries, why did they bother to enumerate seventeen ? There exists a process in which the Constitution can be amended, It is unlikely that the framers intended changes to be made by the Congress or the Court, acting without the consent of the States or the People.

Tech Support

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate

-------------------------------------

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.

Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved Me.exe', try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 It runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources. Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck
