A VIEW FROM THE WEST: in high definition...

This entry in the VIEW should really be titled "A View From The North." Come with me to Baltimore as I follow up on Joe's tour of the WBOC-TV (Channel 16) new news palace on N. Salisbury Boulevard.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of taking a trip to the foot of Television Hill where you will find the studios of WBFF-TV (Channel 45), Baltimore's FOX station. A couple of months prior, they became the first in the market to launch a high definition newscast. Keep in mind that CBS, Hearst-Argyle and Scripps own stations on the VHF band and all three owners have HD newscasts in other markets, yet the little locally owned station that could beat them to the punch. WBFF is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group in Hunt Valley, Baltimore County.

Here are a few shots that I hope you will enjoy the views...

Thanks to Joe Gagliardi for showing me around and allowing me to pretend for a day. As a footnote, I should let you all know that when I showed my mom the picture, she said "you do realize that's you're future." She's right, that is usually the evolution of all journalists. However, I don't try to think about it. I do not know if this is me being cynical when it comes to moving up, or because I am currently focused on what I am doing right now.

I know that day will be coming. I think I will be ready when it's time.

My Name Is Not Important II

I am the "no name/no address" who was attacked in Johnson Lake area.

Thank you for posting comments. I would just like to "correct" one item. The police WERE responsive within 7 minutes but they did NOT care about listening to my description and they did NOT want to take fingerprints (of which there were many). However, later that SAME day, Chief Webster showed up and he made one call and
detectives were here within the hour to take fingerprints - this second team of officers were professional, interested, polite, and did the job that could have been done at 6:30 AM that morning.

Yes, the attacker is floating between 3 buildings on Division Street between Lehigh - Philadelphia - and NY Avenue. I saw him again today and called police. Apparently, because he had disguised his face (appeared clean shaven at my house), then removed some sort of cosmetic "mask" and when Police went to where my neighbor tracked him (Division St by Phila. Ave)after the attack, the attacker's photo was taken (neighbor identified him as leaving property, changed clothes, black baseball cap pulled over eyebrows, etc.) and when their eyes met the attacker slithered around the back of the Division St property and disappeared.

The police then went up there later that day and took a photo of a guy WITH facial hair....Of course, his photo was placed among about 6 others....all had facial hair....I could not identify him for that reason. However, the attacker IS very practiced at his craft - make NO mistake. He knew exactly to talk in a low voice "where's the cash"...these were the ONLY words he spoke...and then followed each question with a wholloping punch. He spoke good English...no accent or street jargon...no tattoos, no jewelry..Very slim black youth about 19-22 years old, 5 ft. 6in. tall...eyes that have a real BAD glare about them.

I don't know how long he was in my house before the attack, but he meticulously removed everything from my purse (including a very small amount of cash), and had the contents of the purse laid out across the kitchen counter. In the kitchen is where he picked up the letter opener/dagger. His fingerprints will be on that and have been sent to Baltimore for analysis which I hear could be several weeks or even months depending on who you ask.

Quick response from neighbors across the street to my screams for help brought swift conclusion to what could have been a much different ending. These neighbors rent a single family home and are GREAT neighbors.

The Daily T. mis-quoted or misunderstood my comment about rental housing as my comment was directed to the 5-unit non-compliant building that literally "rents by the hour" which Community group has spent YEARS trying to get rid of. Also, we have found out who owns the homes in question on Division Street ...name is Cannon...Should be familiar as I understand family member(s) are politically involved with County Council....

Anyway, IF City or County (since we pay both taxes) had been "ON" the situation with decrepit, non conforming and non-welcomed tenant-types (drugs, prostitutes, thieves, criminals, etc) their coffers would be at least $50,000 richer.

THIS IS A COMMUNITY IN TROUBLE. More vacant houses will be seen AND mine may be one of them, and not due to the stigma of this attack incident. I really LOVE the lake area and have UTMOST respect for neighbors who are renters AND home owners in single family residences but will NOT continue to tolerate the lack of action on the part of the elected officials who are content to let the housing and crime situation erode. My property values are not worth much of anything now thanks to their decision making.

Yes, they should be ashamed. Yes, I WOULD LIKE TO SUE but cannot find a lawyer who is NOT in the pocket of the government. All suggestions welcome. I will read this Blog in the forthcoming days to get your help.

Thank you.

Up, Down, Up, Down!

At 1:30 PM today the Draw Bridge stopped traffic Downtown once again. How's that 99.9% figure working for you now Chiefy? Someone asked me why I was so obsessed with this Bridge going up so often. The reason is, Gary Comegys and Chiefy See assured everyone that it rarely ever goes up any more and that's just not true.

Another Photo Comes In From Assateague Island Last Weekend

While challenges continue to come in trying to state the funnel cloud was photo shopped, here's yet another photo from yet another individual! Now stop challenging this situation as I am clearly convinced this took place, period. End of story!

OCPD WARNS PUBLIC OF EMAIL SCAM

The Ocean City Police Department would like the community to be aware of an email scam that is being used to extort money. The scam, which has targeted individuals through their business email addresses, is attempting to use threatening remarks in order to extort money from the victims.

Ocean City Police detectives believe that the email was sent out by using a mass e-mail address list which included several local realtors and does appear to be a hoax. Delaware State Police in Sussex County have also received several reports regarding the same email.

The Ocean City Police Department is advising people to be cautious of the scam. In the event that you should receive the same, or similar, email then you should contact the OCPD at 410-723-6610. Also, detectives are asking that you contact the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) by visiting www.ic3.gov.

This website is available to provide citizens with a tool that will help them receive, develop and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 also gives victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations.

Why is the Judicial System Being So Nice?

This guy vandalized my vehicle to the tune of $3,800.00 in Delmar Md, at the same
time he called my home in Delmar DE threaten to kill me if I took him to court.

That evening, Delaware State Police picked him up and locked him up for 1 week.
We had to have a summons for the vandalism changed to a warrant because this guy
already had a warrant in Michigan for Assault w/weapon and Failure to Pay Child
Support and another warrant for assaulting a police officer in Florida. Both
non-extradition charges. Go Figure!! So they picked him up two weeks after
being released out of Delaware Jail and put him in Wicomico Detention Center
until we went to court on Jan 28, 2008.

He received a sentence of 18 months in WDC with 10 months suspended, no contact with me or my husband and supervised probation. Low and behold he was released on June 8 instead of Aug 13th for being good I guess, and was sent to Somerset where he again had a warrant out for him.

Now Somerset committed him on June 10 and released him on June 10 with the promise that he would appear in court on Aug 5, 08 for a hearing. WHAT A JOKE!! You guessed it, he never appeared and now he has a bench warrant out for himself with a $500 bond. Now he did report to his probation officer on June 11th in Somerset County with the understanding that he was to begin drug testing and report to probation.

Today, after finding all this out, you guessed it. June 11, 2008 is the last time Jeremy Reese has been seen by Somerset Probation. So, tell me who is keeping track of these guys? I spoke with his probation officer today and she said she just got his folder today. Now, he owes me $3800 in restitution, which I am sure I will never see. He also has two warrants out for him for child support and still has the warrants out for him in Michigan and Florida.

So tell me, why the hell is the Judicial System being so nice? If you see this guy, please call the Somerset County Sheriffs office.

Delmarva Oil Is At It Again

"Hi Joe

A few weeks ago you posted the article about receiving Delmarva Oil's budget payment letter and how huge the increase was going to be for the upcoming year. I posted a comment along with alot of other people who were not happy with the increase. Since our oil furnace was reaching the end of it's life span, my husband & I applied and was approved for a home equity line of credit. Our thoughts are to put in central heat/air and install replacement windows, getting rid of a $322/mo. oil bill and making our home more energy efficient. We are just waiting for the appraisal to come in so the bank can establish the amount we can borrow. The DMO letter stated that the first payment on the new budget year would be due on August 26th & the bank is aware of this deadline and will have the amount of the HELOC before then. I was going to call DMO the very second we got the go-ahead from the bank and with great pleasure tell them we would no longer be a customer. On Monday, Aug 11th I came home from work and found a receipt in the door showing that DMO had delivered 137.4 gallons of fuel oil !!!! I couldn't believe it !!! 2 weeks before the first payment was even due they've dumped $500/$600 of oil in our tank. WTF!!! The first thought I had was entrapment. When a company nearly doubles your payments and then before the first payment is due dumps hundreds of dollars of oil in your tank? It's as if they are thinking we'll get the budget plan pymts or $500/$600 out of them before they cancel. I haven't called them yet, I need to find out if we are responsible for paying for all this oil or will they come take this out and give us a credit. I didn't ask for the delivery and I still had two weeks to end our business with them. If you or any of your readers can answer this I'd appreciate it. I don't want to make this call without having a plan of attack."

IS THIS A GREAT BARNYARD OR WHAT?

The Little Red Hen

Once upon a time, on a farm in Virginia, there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat.

She called all of her Democrat neighbors together and said, 'If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?'

'Not I,' said the cow.

'Not I,' said the duck.

'Not I,' said the pig.

'Not I,' said the goose.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.
The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.

'Who will help me reap my wheat?' asked the little red hen.

'Not I,' said the duck.

'Out of my classification,' said the pig.

'I 'd lose my seniority,' said the cow.

'I'd lose my unemployment compensation,' said the goose.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.

'Who will help me bake the bread?' asked the little red hen.

'That would be overtime for me,' said the cow.

'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck.

'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig.

'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,' said the goose.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.'

'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi)
'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)

'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson)

The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)

And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.

Then the Farmer Obama came. He said to the little red hen, 'You must not be so greedy.'

'But I earned the bread,' said the little red hen.

'Exactly,' said Barack the farmer. 'That is what makes our free
enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.'

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, 'I am grateful, for now I truly understand.'

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free. And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.

Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one
cared...so long as there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying for.

A Bike Made For Three?

"Dear Joe,

I read the comment recently that one of your readers sent in about reporting children not in safety seats. Attached with this email is a picture taken from my car earlier today at the end of Route 376 in Berlin next to Bucks Place. If you can see, it is a motorcycle with two children on the back. I would guess the two girls were around 7 years old. Now when riding in a car we are expected to have our children buckled up in properly installed safety seats. Not only was there one child that in a car would most likely have to be in a seat, but two children. Both girls did have helmets on, but as I got closer when stopping at the stop sign I could tell they were only bike cycle helmets. I had followed this motorcycle for several miles and observed the girls. A few times they lifted their arms out as if they were flying and the girl in the very back seemed to lose balance and had to grab on to the back of the seat. I did call the Worcester County Sheriffs office at (410) 632-1111 adn the nice lady who answered the phone did tell me that riding a child on the back of a motorcycle was legal as long as they had a helmet on. She did not know if it was legal to have two children and said she would patch me through to dispactch. Well I waited on hold and before they could come on to answer the question I pulled up at work and to hang up. Do you have an in at the Worcester County Sheriffs office and can find out the answer? Plus if you do the license plate number was Maryland 012M33. As a mother of a 6 year old and 9 month old I find it absolutely crazy that a parent would do this. I also can't believe that Maryland law permits a child that should be in a safety seat to ride on the back of a motorcyle. I know this may offend some motorcycle riders out there, but I'm only thinking of the safety of those two children. I don't believe children should be on motorcycles if they would have to be in a safety se at in a vehicle.

Accountability?

A while back ago, Louise Smith stated that she was the swing vote on the City Council. In other words, it was her job to call for a vote and once she heard what the other Council Members voted on, IF NECESSARY, she would then offer her vote.

I challenge ALL of you once again to listen to PAC 14 and watch how "everything" was voted on last Monday Night. I have said it in the past on a Post about this issue but I want you to see for yourself where Louise Smith says, "All those in favor say I, I. She immediately votes. Now Louise, accountability is what you ran on, so which is it? Are you the swing vote, or not?

Oh, if you want a good laugh as well, GO HERE and see on Google the name Louise Smith with a picture of Gary Comegys. It's in the second row. One in the same, I guess.

The Hypocrisy of Louise Smith - True to Form Again

Monday evening Salisbury again witnessed the hypocrisy of Councilwoman Louise Smith. Rules passed just a few weeks ago were broken. Smith again demonstrated the complete disdain in which she holds the public.

Should we be surprised? Of course not! Read More ...

WBOC NewsPlex Goes Over The TOP!

On Tuesday I had the privilege to be the first source of Media to experience the WBOC High Definition Experience of what turned out to be an UNBELIEVABLE tour of their new Studio!

Ladies & Gentlemen, I have to tell you, there's nothing else like it in the Country. Right here in Salisbury is a new facility that out does any of the Major Studios in the United States. Millions upon millions of dollars was spent building their dream facility and once they get through the kinks and adjust to this new reality of television, you're not going to believe your own eyes when it comes to Broadcasting.

Craig Jahelka, the new VP and General Manager of WBOC personally invited me to come in and meet him one on one and tour the facility and I have to tell you, I was impressed. Not only is he a good, down to earth family man, everyone I know there loves this guy to death. In my hour and a half there I can see why. He's not your typical cut throat News Guy. He knows reality, he knows he and other Stations locally have young Staff but they plan for all of it. There's a 3 to 4 week internal Drill Academy they created in order to make sure that when their new people go on the air, they're ready for it. Many other locations around the Country hire them and simply put them on the Air.

While I was there they showed me some of the internal work behind the scenes, one of which was the more than 10 miles of wiring throughout the new facility. I was accurate in my Post the other day referencing their having hardwood floors but the real problems they were having was more towards the ceiling and upper level of the facility. So they brought in a specialist to absorb that sound throughout and they believe they have tackled that issue head on.

The raised floor is 18" above the concrete floor so they could run wiring throughout and each and every piece has panels 2' x 2' can be lifted to access pretty much anywhere they need to access it. They lifted one of the panels, (shown above in a photo) to give a better idea on just how it works.

While I was visiting, the Staff continues to do practice runs preparing to go LIVE in just a few more days. The main stage is a circular anchor desk stage that actually rotated around to the different back drops such as weather, news desk for breaking news stories, well you can see the different stages in the photos above.

Look, all I can tell you is, no one and I do mean no one will be able to top this Studio and the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware will be able to catch up to these guys.

Here's what the new Vice President and General Manager had to say about Joe Albero and Salisbury News. "I’m absolutely fascinated with what you’re doing. You’re a new breed of journalist and I think the MSM, as you call us, could learn a lot from you." Craig Jahelka It's no wonder Salisbury News was invited to visit this complex first. Other forms of Media have been invited to tours of the facility in about a week from now. Oh, Craig, when do I pay you that $20.00 bill for making that statement? HA! Eat your hearts out Daily Times. Once again, they'll be about a week behind.

Copycat Comegys?

Joe,

I watched the whole city council meeting last night. Nearly five hours, but that was because there was a ton of stuff on that agenda. I want to say "Wow!" to what you said about the zoo vet and to pat your back for covering that lady who was attacked in her home. We all need to be that gutsy and say we are mad as hell! The guy who spoke on what went on in his neighborhood was really good, too.

Reading your blog today, I noticed you caught something that made me think, the part about Barrie Tilghman gushing about the people of Salisbury as an afterthought. Good catch! I have been a steady watcher/listener since the election. Both Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen talk sincerely about the citizens. They walk the walk. In the circle I run, those two ladies are really popular. So is Barrie Tilghman trying to imitate them? Somehow, it just doesn't ring the same. And you proved it with what you wrote this morning.

Well, I want to ask, did it hit you like it did me that Gary Comegys was doing that copycat thing too last night? For example, the old standpipe, he said EXACTLY what Terry Cohen did in the paper (yes, I still get it) a week or two ago about doing the study but that funds should come from cutting elsewhere. In fact, she mentioned it on Bill Reddish's show that morning.

Oh, and he tried to pound his chest about "open government" on the special election for vacancies subject, too. Who are the two who REALLY promote open government? Yep, Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen. In fact, I heard Cohen on Bill Reddish's a couple weeks ago mention whether or not the cut off point for doing a special election should be 6 months instead of 12, and I heard Gary changed his proposal from 12 to 6 in a work session that same day! (Can you verify that, Joe? I wouldn't know how.) Cohen raised some really good questions about it last night. I'm glad they pulled it because it sounds like they haven't thought this through very well. A friend thinks Comegys wanted that special election thing because Comegys thinks the mayor's seat is guaranteed for him. What do you think, Joe?

There was another time, too. Comegys started hemming and hawing on the water-sewer allotment plan about the financing roadblocks. Well, at least on that one he gave Debbie Campbell credit for raising the issue before. I fully expected him to help ram it through, but now he's trying to look "thoughtful," I guess. That didn't ring true either, to me.

So, Joe, does it sound like Barrie Tilghman and Gary Comegys are copying Campbell and Cohen (which, if you ask me, are the only two with brains at that table)? Do they think if they just start talking differently we stupid sheeple will just forget about all the times they've stuck it to us? I just found it weird that you caught that about the mayor's comment about citizens being the great thing about Salisbury and I was sitting there last night thinking how insincere Comegys sounded. You are good at reading people, Joe, so I wanted your opinion. Heaven help us if slick talking alone gets us our next mayor because you can imagine what we'll end up with.

Thanks, Joe!

Question of the Day, Wed 8/13

We have 2 again today.

Today is:

International Left Handers Day - Are you a lefty? Is someone in your family a lefty? My dad is a left hander. When my brother was growing up, my dad wanted him to be left handed like him. So, when he was old enough for writing, sports, etc, he'd make my brother use his left hand. Today, at 35 years old, my brother uses his left hand for everything (sports, hunting, etc.) EXCEPT for writing!

Today is also:

National Underwear Day - You already know the question! Do you or don't you? If yes, what's your preference?

AMSA Funnel Clouds

Some Idiot challenged the truth towards a truck being flipped on its side during a AMSA Bullpen Event on Assateague Island years ago. The above photos were provided to prove it did in fact happen. Pictures don't lie.

Chief Surplus See

I know, every time you blow an engine on a Fire Truck, surplus it and treat it as if it's in poor condition and let's buy a new one.

That's what Chief See did yet again last night, asking the Council to dump yet another few Fire Trucks. Let's see, a new one costs the taxpayers $500,000.00. An engine costs the taxpayers, $500,000.00. No, my math isn't wrong. That's just the Bubba/Tilghman way of thinking.

Oh, guess what, YOU can't do anything about it. You Idiots voted for these Idiots, so you get Idiotic math and tax increases to boot. I'll bet in two years they're going to start charging Insurance Companies for coming to your home and putting out fires too.

Quote of the Day

Cathcart Lane, Blvd, Circle, Ct. Street, Drive?

Isn't it interesting how we haven't seen Lynn Cathcart for months at the City Council Meetings and all of a sudden Natelson shows up and Lynn is right behind him?

I did speak to Mr. Natelson about the progress of the Old Mall and he informed me that they are looking at developing the commercial space first before they tackle the residential portion of the property.

He attended the meeting to make sure their development was exempt from future water and sewer EDU's and requirement plans. It has a lot to do with financing. My question is, WHY would Lynn be so interested in this meeting/project?

I'd even bet Mike Dunn was sitting on the edge of his seat at home watching PAC 14 and saying, WE'RE THIS CLOSE. NOT THIS CLOSE BUT THIS CLOSE! Now you have to wonder, this close to what Mike?

Big Brother Want's to Get Bigger

NYC police propose massive public snooping system

Stephen C. Webster / Raw Story | August 12, 2008

With mass surveillance systems now prevalent in London, the burial place of George Orwell, America’s ‘Big Apple’ is mulling its own ‘Big Brother’ network.
In a proposal by Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, ‘Operation Sentinel’ would create a technological surveillance veil that scans license plates and photographs vehicles as they cross bridges and enter or exit tunnels. Radiological detectors would also be installed to sniff out potential terrorism threats.
Data collected by the snooping would be stored for one month at a command center in Lower Manhattan. In all, some 3,000 public and private security cameras would be deployed. “‘This is just a planning document,’” said Paul J. Browne, a police spokesman, to the New York Times. “It’s a vision of how it will work if all the components come together.”
The public snooping technology is inspired by a system installed by the British government in London, which has blanketed the city in the view of cameras, range of microphones, and earshot of government minders who can actually speak to pedestrians through a massive PA system.

The British government also had radio frequency identification chips installed in every vehicle’s license plates, the identifying signals from which are capable of being read over 300 feet away.
“We definitely have an interest in testing an RFID-tagged license plate,” claimed Jerry Dike, chairman of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, in a 2005 report by Wired Magazine. No such measure has been proposed for New York City, however. While the 3,000 cameras the New York proposal suggests are a far cry from the UK’s estimated 4.2 million, ‘Operations Sentinel’ features a few additional nuances not found in London.
In related security initiatives, ground zero would be enclosed in a security zone which only pre-screened vehicles may enter. Additionally, dozens of security booths would be built on high traffic corners to monitor pedestrians and passing vehicles. Movable roadblocks in the financial district would also block traffic as authorities deem necessary, with some streets exclusively reserved for emergency personnel. The plan has caused some consternation among area business owners, who fear the measures would create an environment unfriendly to workers.
Should police have no use for the data collected by ‘Operation Sentinel,’ it would be deleted within 30 days, a spokesman said.
No estimate as to when ‘Operation Sentinel’ may be in place has been provided, though police expect related security measures, centered on protecting ground zero and the financial district, to be running by 2010.

Firefighters Help Raise More Than $20,000.00 For A Local Cause

While the SFD participates in many charity events, these Firefighters were recognized for doing so at a local event a few weeks ago. I tip my hat to these fine men and women for doing so. However, this wouldn't be Salisbury News if I didn't place a twist to MY side of the story.

Take Gary Muir, the Curator of the Salisbury Zoo for example. Gary has been asked for 30+ years to come to Council Meetings and accept such awards and Gary has flat out refused to do so. You see, Gary is of the unusual thinking that he was hired and paid to do a job and has proven himself as a very giving individual for many years to the City and the millions of visitors over the years at the Salisbury Zoo. Granted, there are a few things I don't like about some decisions Gary has made in the past but that's nothing compared to the respect I hold for this man having absolutely no need for recognition, especially from this Mayor.

Mayor Tilghman has finally given up on trying to get Gary to come to these BS Meetings where the Mayor gets to falsely make it look like the City Employees need to be shown off as puppets for her own gain.

Many people fall for it but there are some who couldn't care less. I like the later of the two, personally. I take that back. IF the Mayor would like to recognize ME for all the hard work I put into this Blog by exposing all the BS that goes on in the City of Salisbury, well, I'd probably have to go up there and accept such an Award. Until then, I'll just sit here on the outside looking in and dream of the day I too can become somebody.

Oh, by the way, there were an additional hundred people who helped in that Fundraiser for that child but the only ones that count are the Firefighters? And to those Firefighters that think this is a dig on them, you're wrong. You are very special individuals. I just think the more special ones were the ones that refused to show up Monday night to accept an award.

Can You See Me Now?

Chief See just can't resist visiting 300 W. Main Street and cruising past my building daily. I know, he's checking out the old Fire Station. Word has it he doesn't do squat any more for the Fire Department anyway. I also hear he's stepping down and retiring soon and the Mayor wants to appoint Bill Gordy as the new Chief. That will go over like a lead balloon. Oh well, it will be extra cool to watch the new Mayor fire him.

The Bridge Is Up Again

Now look, it can't just be coincidental that I happen to be around every time the Bridge is raised. That being said, what happened to the Gary Comegys, David See & Bill Gordy probability ratio of the Bridge not being up 99.5% of the time? Oh, No, you weren't lied to, were you?

The Downtown U-Turn Addiction

While sitting in my Office once again I couldn't help but notice another vehicle deciding all of a sudden they had to make an illegal U-Turn in front of everyone once again. A double line means what Folks?

More Dr. Nolte Stories

I don't know how Dr. Nolte has been permitted to continue practice or how he could be hired by the Zoo. I have had a similar experience as those reported. Over twenty years ago when he was on North Salisbury Blvd. we brought our ill cat to him. He diagnosed the illness and said the cat would be fine. Although it was many years ago and my memory may not be perfect, I am fairly sure of the following. After several days we did not hear from the Dr. so I called. The cat had died but, as stated, we received no notification of that and I don't know what happened to its remains or what it died of. Several months later we received a bill. I refused to pay it since we were not treated in a professional manner and have used other Veterinarians ever since. GO HERE to read more stories about Dr. Nolte the Veterinarian.

May I See Your Drivers License & Registration Please?

I finally figured out how to break the law and not get caught. Simply wear one of these neon green shirts and do whatever you like in the City of Salisbury. LOL

I know these guys have jobs to do and they do it well. However, if you're on a roof of a 4 story building laying shingles, you have to wear a safety rope, right?

If you're driving a car down the road, especially a busy road, you do have to have tags, license and registration, right? I'm just curious what the OSHA Rules and the Maryland Department of Transportation think about lawnmowers taking over the roadways?

Did You Get Screwed By A Local Accountant Too?

"Joe,

I was at my hairdressers earlier today, and there was a conversation going on about a local accountant, who had taken in many peoples’ tax information, but never got around to doing their paperwork. Those that she did were badly done, and most of those folks (or so I hear) had issues that required another tax person to resolve. What seems weird was that, they said, the office actually remained closed for a good while, so that these people couldn’t even get their stuff back to take to someone else. There were several people involved in this conversation, and they all knew someone who had had a similar experience.

Messick…..Kelly or Kim….I think the office was on Eastern Shore Dr.

When my hairdresser finally got their tax paperwork back there were several errors, very expensive errors. She said that the second guy, the one that fixed the errors, was told who he said he’d already fixed several other peoples messes from this particular person.

I was wondering if there might be other people who’ve been victimized by this person who don’t know there are many others in the same boat.
