Another Man Found Dead At Home Of Democratic Donor

City Council members, LGBT leaders call for aggressive investigation

In less than two years, two men have been found dead at prominent Democratic donor and LGBT community member Ed Buck's West Hollywood home, a development that has West Hollywood council members and local LGBT leaders urging authorities to launch a full investigation.

At 1:05 a.m. Monday morning, West Hollywood sheriff's deputies responded to a report that a person was not breathing at Buck's Laurel Avenue apartment. Authorities say the person who called attempted to perform CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the cause of death yet unknown.

"The dead man’s name has not been released, but Nicole Nishida, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department, said he was black," the Los Angeles Times reports. "Buck previously was investigated for the death of another black man, the 2017 overdose of Gemmel Moore, 26."

No, This Is Not JFK's Democratic Party

Speaker Nancy Pelosi's House has more women, persons of color and LGBT members than any House in history -- and fewer white males.

And Thursday, the day Rashida Tlaib was sworn in, her hand on a Quran, our first Palestinian-American congresswoman showed us what we may expect. As a rally of leftists lustily cheered her on, Tlaib roared, "We're gonna impeach the (expletive deleted)!"

Not only was no apology forthcoming, the host of the New American Leaders event where Tlaib spoke warmly endorsed her gutter language.

Her remarks, said Sayu Bhojwani, "were raw and honest, and came straight from the heart. ... a refreshing break from the canned comments our elected leaders usually make. Tlaib spoke ... with the fire that so many at our event wanted to hear."

Sunday, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, 29, the youngest member of the new House, told CNN there is "no question" President Donald Trump is a "racist," for he regularly uses "historic dog whistles of white supremacy."

Mitt Romney Fails Again

The first public thing Mitt Romney did in the year 2019 -- on Jan. 1 -- was publish an attack on President Trump in the Washington Post, which, as we know, has not lacked for attacks on Trump.

He did not even wait until being sworn in, two days later.

I campaigned for Sen. Mitt Romney when he ran for president, including a closed-door meeting with him to raise funds among wealthy Los Angeles Republicans. As it turns out, I worked to elect a somewhat foolish man with few identifiable convictions. (For the record, I would do so again, since just about any Republican president will do less damage to the country than any leftist -- and Democratic politicians are now all leftists.) Life is filled with disappointments, and I will survive this one. But I should explain why this Romney column is so disappointing.

First the foolish part. What did Romney seek to achieve by publishing an attack on his own party's president? Did he think he would persuade one supporter of the president to stop supporting him? If he did, he failed, not because none of us can be persuaded to change our minds but because the piece was so intellectually and morally shallow.

So, why did he write it? And why did he publish it in the Washington Post, a Trump-hating newspaper? Does he share the Washington Post's political, social and moral values? Did he think he would enlighten Washington Post readers, the vast majority of whom already loathe the president, the Republican Party and the half of the country that voted for Donald Trump?

Of course not.

De Blasio Unveils $100 Million "Medicare For All New Yorkers" Plan

Not to be outdone by the other New York resident who is grabbing all the headlines with her "Green New Deal," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has just unveiled his new plan to launch the largest, most comprehensive plan in the nation to guarantee health care for every New Yorker.

“Health care is a right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it,” said Mayor de Blasio.

“While the federal government works to gut health care for millions of Americans, New York City is leading the way by guaranteeing that every New Yorker has access to quality, comprehensive access to care, regardless of immigration status or their ability to pay.”

Game Over: Sears Will Ask Judge To Liquidate After Lampert Bid Fails

Update 2: Lampert will be allowed to submit a new bid to save Sears, according to CNBC.

Sears on Tuesday had planned to tell the bankruptcy court it had rejected Lampert's offer to buy the retailer, after it fell short of covering its bankruptcy expenses. Lampert, though, protested the decision, highlighting the extensive costs of Sears' bankruptcy advisors, a person familiar with the situation told CNBC.

Ultimately, the bankruptcy judge gave Lampert more time. ESL will be required to pay a $120 million deposit by 4:00 p.m Wednesday. Sears will hold an auction on Jan. 14. -CNBC

Update: Sears isn't going quietly - taking to social media to reassure the public that it's still around, and then deleting the tweets?

Via Reuters:

As the company and its bankruptcy advisers prepare for a possible liquidation, the retailer has taken to social media to reassure the public that it is still around.

“We are down, but not out... - SMT,” Sears, via its official Twitter account (@Sears), said in reply to one of the many posts Monday morning about the 126-year-old company potentially going out of business.

Another Twitter user opined that the retailer “had a good run I would say.” Sears replied: “We would say that as well, but we are Marathon Runners, and we are still running. We may be slowing down, but we are not out of the race just yet. Don’t count us completely out. Happy Shopping! -SMT”

It looks like someone got a tap on the shoulder at the "SMT" (Social Media Team), as those tweets are now gone from the @Sears account timeline.

Retail giant Sears will ask a US bankruptcy judge if it can proceed with liquidating its assets after a last-minute bid by Chairman Eddie Lampert failed, reports Reuters. A liquidation would affect approximately 68,000 employees and 425 stores.

Court allows Christian baker to sue Colorado for anti-religious hostility

The owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop can proceed with his lawsuit against the state of Colorado after a judge refused to dismiss the case.

Jack Phillips has accused the Colorado Civil Rights Commission of anti-religious bias because it punished him for refusing to bake a cake celebrating gender transition. Phillips, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, filed suit when the state chose to prosecute him even after he won his case at the U.S. Supreme Court in June.

Judge Wiley Y. Daniel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado ruled the suit against the state can move forward.

Gavin Newsom promises California ‘alternative to corruption and incompetence’ of Trump

Gavin Newsom vowed to provide Californians “an alternative to the corruption and incompetence in the White House” as he was sworn in as California governor on Monday.

In his inaugural speech in Sacramento, Newsom outlined his vision for his time in office, arguing that Washington opposed California’s values and asserting that “our government will be progressive, principled and always on the side of the people.”

“It is up to us to renew the California dream for a new generation. And now more than ever, it is up to us to defend it,” Newsom said, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “But there is an administration in Washington clearly hostile to California’s values and California’s interests.”

Science races against tick-borne virus

Two groundbreaking discoveries by USC researchers could lead to medications and a vaccine to treat or prevent a hemorrhagic fever transmitted by a new tick species before it spreads across the United States.

In the Jan. 7 Nature Microbiology, researchers describe the molecular mechanisms used by the virus to infect and sicken humans, a puzzle that has stumped scientists since the disease emerged in rural China in 2009.

In a related discovery published in Nature Microbiology last month, researchers at USC and in Korea found that aged ferrets with the virus exhibit symptoms similar to those seen in older humans, while young ferrets show no clinical symptoms. An animal model in which to study the virus, a crucial tool in vaccine or drug discovery, has been elusive, until now.

"The ticks are already in the United States. If they start spreading the virus, it will be a major problem," said Jae Jung, the study's senior author and chair of the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. "I started studying this virus five years ago because once it appeared in China, I knew it would eventually appear in the United States."

The findings come at a time when health officials are increasingly concerned about the growing danger of tick-borne illnesses. In the United States, Lyme disease accounts for most cases, but other illnesses are on the rise. The total number of reported cases has more than doubled in the past 13 years, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

VIDEO: University students hate quotes, don’t realize they’re from Dems

Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips asked students on the campus of American University if they agreed with President Donald Trump's statements on immigration and the border wall.

Only the quotes the students were given were not actually from Trump. They were from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Secretary of State Hillary of Clinton, and President Barack Obama.

“Illegal Immigration is wrong, plain and simple. Until the American people are convinced we will stop future flows of illegal immigration, we will make no progress.” -Senator Chuck Schumer, 2009

“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented and unchecked” -Barack Obama, 2005

“I voted numerous times… to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.” -Hillary Clinton, 2008

Wanting to know if opponents of Trump’s border wall had opinions on these past quotes from Democrat leaders, Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips headed to American University.

But there’s a catch… the students were told the quotes actually came from President Trump.

Teenagers Who Kill Their Parents: Cases of Parricide

In the United States legal system, parricide is defined as the killing of a close relative, usually a parent. The crime encompasses matricide, the killing of one’s mother, and patricide, the killing of one’s father. It may also be part of a familicide, the killing of one’s entire family.

Parricide is extremely rare, representing just 1 percent of all homicides in the United States in which the victim-offender relationship is known.

The majority of parricides are committed by adults, with just 25 percent of patricides and 17 percent of matricides committed by persons 18 years and under, according to a 25-year study of parricides in the United States.

However rare, adolescent parricide has become a distinct area of study by criminologists and psychologists due to the unpredictability and complexity of these crimes. Those who study these unique crimes tend to look closely at issues like domestic violence, substance abuse, and adolescent mental health.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE BOB CULVER ANNOUNCES PIRATE'S WHARF PLANS

Plans are in the works to develop Wicomico County's newest park, the property known as "Pirate's Wharf." The future park is expected to include features including water access, a trail system and a public gathering space and will be designed to retain its natural beauty. Located in Quantico, the property includes approximately 340 acres along the Wicomico River which includes a wooded area on the other side of Whitehaven Road.

Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver is pleased that after many years, this beautiful property will be open to the public.

"It's a very versatile space," Culver said. "It offers open land for numerous opportunities, woods for hiking and river access."

"The vision for the property has been shared by Executive Culver, the work group he commissioned in 2017 and members of the public," explained Steve Miller, Director of Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism.

"The priority has been public access and creating opportunities for leisure recreation, which I think people will really enjoy," Miller said.

The Wicomico County Council recently voted to accept a federal grant award of $820,000 from the National Park Service through the Land and Water Conservation Fund for development of the property. The grant is administered through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Andrews, Miller & Associates, a division of Davis, Bowen & Friedel, has been hired to create a master plan for the project, and a committee will be working with the planner, Miller said.

One of those committee members is Dr. Judith Stribling, who chairs Wicomico County's Natural Resources Conservation Advisory Committee.

Dr. Stribling said the focus will be on passive recreation, not active recreation. For example, there will be hiking trails, but not baseball fields.
"I think we envision something a lot like Pemberton Park," Dr. Stribling said.

However, she said, Pirate's Wharf has a different type of landscape that people will be able to explore.

Dr. Stribling and Chris McCabe, another member of the committee, each noted the potential for educational opportunities. The new park may also become a tourist destination for beach visitors who are looking for something different to enjoy, McCabe said.

"Water and trail access were two important components that led to Wicomico County receiving the grant," Miller said. According to Miller, the $820,000 federal grant will be matched with a combination of existing county funding and state funding, making the overall development budget approximately $1.6 million.

The goal is to have a completed park master plan by the end of June, followed by permitting and construction phases. Miller hopes to have a completed park in 2021.

Iraqi Christian Lawmaker – Churches Being Sold ‘Illegally’ Nationwide

Iraqi Christian members of parliament (MP) are urging fellow lawmakers to investigate the “illegal” sale of churches across the country, Breitbart News learned Monday.

It is unclear whether individuals, local governments, or federal agencies are selling the properties, MP Emmanuel Khoshaba Youkhanna told Breitbart News, noting that the exact number of churches and other public Christian properties sold is unknown.

“Nobody can know the number of churches and other properties that have been sold. We seek to stop the sale of church property. This is one of our duties as members of the parliament and representatives of our [Christian] Chaldo-Assyrian Syriac peoples,” he said.

“I can not say who exactly is benefiting without a formal investigation. We are serious in our quest to ensure anyone behind the sale of Christian public property is held responsible,” the lawmaker added, stressing that “It’s not personal property to sell.”

Citing Christian MP Joseph Slewa, Bas News noted on Monday that Iraqi laws prohibit the sale of church-owned properties or properties owned by the Iraqi government’s Office of Christian and Other Religions Endowments.

Teen girl, 12-year-old sister arrested for brutally killing their mom

A 14-year-old and her 12-year-old sister were arrested for stabbing and shooting their mother to death — a brutal payback after they were punished for trying to run her over with the family car, neighbors and officials in Mississippi said.

The teen, Amariyona Hall, and her younger sister were taken into custody late Friday after deputies in Pike County responded to the family’s mobile home in Magnolia, where Erica Hall, a 32-year-old mother of four, was found stabbed multiple times and shot once in the chest with a handgun, authorities said.

Emergency workers tried to resuscitate Hall, whose relatives found her bloodied outside her home just minutes earlier, but she could not be saved. Investigators then zeroed in on Hall’s daughters, Pike County Sheriff Kenny Cotton told the McComb Enterprise Journal.

Media Members Who Claim There’s No Border Crisis Also Insisted There Was No Caravan Crisis

Joe Scarborough, Jim Acosta and others mocked Trump for his warnings — then were proven spectacularly wrong

President Donald Trump will discuss “the humanitarian and national security crisis on our southern border” during his first Oval Office address on Tuesday evening amid the partial government shutdown over border wall funding.

But mainstream media members are already dismissing the border crisis, downplaying the threat illegal immigration poses to the nation and mocking Trump for championing American safety and sovereignty over open borders.

Many of these same media critics also doubted that a Central American migrant caravan that traveled to the U.S. during the last few months of 2018 even existed.

Thomas Homan, former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director, said Monday night on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” that the “same people” who “claim there isn’t a crisis at the border” and scoff at the idea of a security wall are the same people who “claimed there wasn’t a caravan” barreling toward the U.S.

“There was,” he added bluntly.

Some media members claimed that the thousands of caravan migrants posed no threat whatsoever to U.S. citizens and did not deserve Trump’s wrath.

“Ken Ham, the evangelist who built these two notorious theme parks, has been clear about the proselytizing nature of his ventures from the beginning,” FFRF says in its statement.

Swing State Governor Aims to Repeal Voter ID Requirement

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Monday announced proposed legislation to repeal the state’s requirement that voters show photo ID.

“Participation makes our democracy strong—we should encourage every eligible voter to exercise this fundamental right, rather than creating unnecessary barriers that make getting to the ballot box difficult,” Northam, a Democrat, said in a statement.

Delegate Kaye Kory, a sponsor of the measure, said in a statement, “The photo ID requirement prevents the most vulnerable Virginians from voting and silences the voices of those who most need to be heard.”

The proposal would also allow people to vote absentee without providing a reason why they could not make it to the polls.

Senate Democrats back BDS anti-Israel movement with filibuster of Mideast partnership bill

Angry at the government shutdown and peeved over attempts to stifle anti-Israeli boycotts, Senate Democrats on Tuesday filibustered a bill that would have strengthened U.S. relationships in the Middle East while punishing the anti-Israel boycott movement.

Some Republicans said the vote smacked of anti-semitism, but Democrats said the GOP showed skewed priorities in pushing a foreign policy bill at a time when hundreds of thousands of federal workers are on furlough.

The bill fell three votes shy of the 60 needed to overcome a filibuster, with just four Democrats joining the GOP.

Republicans made clear they aren’t giving up, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signaling more votes in the days ahead to try to break the filibuster.

He said the vote should have been a no-brainer, given that it included legislation Democrats themselves sponsored last year.

“They’ve gotten the government to shut down for two weeks, now they want to shut the Senate down,” he said. “They’re threatening to shut down efforts to protect our allies and strengthen our relationship with Israel.”

And it was a Democrat who spilled the beans on their hypocrisy.

The government shutdown over the border wall funding battle has seen a number of excuses from Democrats. One, however, has been cost for the wall. When Kentucky’s Democratic Rep. John Yarmuth appeared on The Hill’s “Rising” on Friday, he admitted the amount requested is chump change compared to other amounts the Democrats have been willing to pay for border security.

"The Criminals Who Run The Deep State Will Be Exposed": Kim Dotcom Teases "Next Round Of Leaks"

Hacker and serial entrepreneur Kim Dotcom is out with a new prediction for 2019:

"Get ready for the next round of leaks."

Dotcom then tweeted "This year the criminals who run the Deep State will be exposed," adding "The shareholders profiting from war and chaos. The billionaires who turn democracy into an illusion. They own politicians, judges and all your data. They are the biggest pirates in history. Want to know who they are?"

For those paying attention, Dotcom dropped massive breadcrumbs going all the way back to 2015 regarding the WikiLeaks release of Hillary Clinton's emails during the 2016 US election.

And while he's has made headlines for years, in February Dotcom boldly stated that the DNC "hack" which kicked off the Russian election interference narrative was bogus, tweeting: "Let me assure you, the DNC hack wasn't even a hack. It was an insider with a memory stick. I know this because I know who did it and why."

Dotcom says he offered to produce evidence to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, twice, and they never even replied to him.

The Ugly Truth (You Won't Hear From The Fed)

For years critics of central bank policy have been dismissed as negative nellies, but the ugly truth is staring us all in the face:Market advances remain a game of artificial liquidity and central bank jawboning and not organic growth and now the jig is up. As I’ve been saying for a long time: There is zero evidence that markets can make or sustain new highs without some sort of intervention on the side of central banks. None. Zero. Zilch.

And don’t think this is hyperbole on my part, I will present the evidence of course.

In March 2009 markets bottomed on the expansion of QE1 which was introduced following the initial QE1 announcement in November 2008. Every major correction since then has been met with major central bank intervention. QE2, Twist, QE3 and so on.

When market tumbled in 2015 and 2016 global central banks embarked on the largest combined intervention effort in history to the tune of over $5 trillion between 2016 and 2017 giving us a grand total of over $15 trillion in central bank balance sheet courtesy FOMC, ECB and BOJ:

Mueller Attorneys Caught Withholding Information in Court - When Will the Judge Realize the Mueller Special Counsel is Criminal Gang?!

The Mueller gang was caught withholding millions of pages of non-classified information in its case against a Russian firm. The corrupt Deep State operatives claimed its for national security purposes.
The Russian firm that challenged Mueller in court, Concord Management, is making a mockery of the Mueller gang and bringing this all to light!

When will US judges understand that the Mueller gang is corrupt and criminal outfit attempting a coup of the 2016 US election while covering up their own crimes?

As we’ve noted previously, in an effort to tie their corrupt investigation to Russia, the Mueller team indicted 13 Russians after presenting their cases to a grand jury in February of 2018.

Immediately, these indictments were suspect as everyone on the corrupt Mueller team knew that these ‘Russians’ would never be brought to justice, even if they were real, because they would never come to the US to stand trial and risk being tossed in jail.

Unfortunately for Mueller however, this soon turned into a royal mess.

What Does Diversity Have to Do with Science?

Texas Democrat Congresswoman stands by remarks suggesting Jazmine Barnes’ killing may have been ‘hate crime’

A Texas Democratic Congresswoman is defending her earlier comments suggesting the drive-by shooting of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes may have been a hate crime, even though both suspects in the case turned out to be black – and not a white individual as police and members of the public initially believed.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, when asked Sunday by a reporter about some of the comments made in the aftermath of the young girl’s death in Houston on Dec. 30, said it was “absolutely not” irresponsible to make that suggestion.

Barnes was shot and killed while sitting in the backseat of her mother’s car. Witness descriptions of a white man in his forties at the scene of the shooting – and a sketch put out by police – prompted widespread speculation a hate crime had happened.

“I believe – and having written hate crime legislation, knowing the criteria, I believe that this should be looked at as a hate crime,” Lee said during a press conference Friday, in a video posted to the Congresswoman’s Facebook page. “We don’t want to have on the street someone who is willing to kill children and possibly kill them in the name of hate."

J.C.Penney new CEO lays out first round of Store Closures

J. C. Penney Co. said it will close three stores this spring and may announce more next month as new Chief Executive Officer Jill Soltau embarks on a broad evaluation of its footprint. The announcement briefly sent shares soaring in late trading.

J.C. Penney also reaffirmed its earlier guidance that it will generate free cash flow in fiscal 2018 and reduce its bloated inventory, an issue that has plagued the company in recent quarters.

This marks one of the first public moves by Soltau, who took the helm in October. The decision to close underperforming stores doesn’t come as a surprise, since she promised “quick action” in November for a company looking for a turnaround. MSM Downplays Arrests in Jazmine Barnes Shooting After “White Suspect” Turns Out to Be Black

Crime statistics show murders within same race are actually far more common

A Note From Alex Jones: This is an incredible illustration of how the corporate, mainstream media works in concert to put out disinformation and obscure the truth to heighten tensions and further balkanize this nation. This is a classic divide-and-conquer strategy.

It came out yesterday that they caught the man who’s reportedly admitted he shot the poor, little African-American girl. Even though that information has been out for a day, in lock-step CNN, the New York Times and dozens of other publications simply ran with the headline that the shooter of the little girl had been reportedly apprehended.

Upon reading the articles, which they should be forced to update, there were no image of his mugshot, there was no image of the fact that he is black, and no mention of the fact that there had been a national hysteria whipped up by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and others claiming this was a major hate crime on our hands, which angered thousands of people who came out to talk about race relations in America about how bad white people are

"China, China, China" - Acting US SecDef Succinctly Summarizes World's Biggest Threat

To quote Shakespeare's Henry V, "The courses of his youth promised it not." The then-deputy secretary of defense Patrick Shanahan gave a speech at an Air Force Association conference on September 19 last year that seemed overly deferential to the then-secretary of defense, the globalist known as General James Mattis. The speech was light on factual content, reflecting a speaker who was a political animal, a speech composed of platitudes and pleasantries that showed contempt for its audience because it deliberately conveyed nothing of substance.

Now that he is acting secretary of defense, the civilian Shanahan has only one layer of command to defer to and can be his own man, it seems. For the first words from his mouth on taking command were "China, China, China" – no agonizing over terrorists whose faith will not be named, no hand-wringing over global warming, no apologia for allies who shirk paying for their defense, and no histrionics on the subject of the impoverished kleptocracy that is Russia. The Mattis era is over.

China is the only country on the planet with the intent, the means, the will, and a plan to kill Americans in large numbers.

In a week in which President Xi Jinping called for China to invade Taiwan, Chinese Navy rear admiral Lou Yuan called for the sinking of two U.S. aircraft carriers to cause 10,000 combat deaths of U.S. military personnel. The admiral wants to find out how frightened America will get.

That is what passes for a casus belli in these times.

We continue to trade with China, and that reflects poorly on us. Take the rhetorical question of whether or not we should have traded with Germany and Japan in the years leading to WWII if we had known what they had planned. Of course not. But we know that China is getting ready to attack us, so why are we still trading with the Chinese? Their intentions couldn't be clearer. No wonder we are treated with contempt.

The Chinese Communist Party has been biding its time for 30 years, as President Deng Xiaoping counseled, and now Xi views China as drawing too far ahead to hesitate in revealing itself in full.

Alabama Dems Used Russia-Style 'False Flag' Facebook Ad Campaign To Hurt Roy Moore

When it comes to spreading false-flag memes to try and sway a US elections, Democrats in Alabama are giving Russia a run for their money.

In an explosive report published Monday, the New York Times published new details about a Facebook "influence campaign" financed by progressive groups that sought to deter moderate conservatives from supporting Roy Moore by spreading misleading advertisements implying that Moore supported turning Alabama into a "dry" state.

Moore, the controversial Republican candidate, ultimately lost to Democratic Sen. Doug Jones in the special election to fill a seat previously held by former AG Jeff Sessions following speculation that he tried to solicit sex from underage girls when he was a young lawyer working in the state.

The tactics employed by the groups matched those employed by the Internet Research Agency - the alleged Russian troll farm indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller - to a tee. The progressive group, which was financed by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, spent $100,000 on salaries and ads during the final weeks of the campaign. They create a fake 'conservative' group called "Dry Alabama" that implored Alabama senate candidates to pledge to support making Alabama a "dry" state.

Failed GOP presidential nominee and newly minted Utah senator Mitt Romney couldn’t even wait until he was sworn into office before he submitted his anti-Trump editorial to the vehemently anti-Trump Washington Post.

Despite his public image as a wholesome and honest man, an image that he has labored indefatigably to craft, Romney is, in truth, the embodiment of all that is wrong and bad with the Republican Party and, by extension, the conservative movement.

In other words, for as reprehensible as so-called “RINOs” undoubtedly are, few are as contemptible as is Romney.

In fact, it is worse than this: Romney embodies all that is wrong with American politics.

When John Kerry ran against George W. Bush in 2004, his Republican opponents in D.C. and the conservative media successfully, and accurately, branded him a “flip-flopper.” Yet with respect to flip-flopping on political issues, Kerry was a piker relative to Romney. Kerry at least never pretended to be anything other than the New England, “liberal” Democrat that he has always been.

America's Borders Are WIDE OPEN!

Joe diGenova: 'Cardinal' James Comey -- The man who destroyed the FBI

Wyatt Earp. Elliot Ness. J. Edgar Hoover. Inspector Clouseau. James Comey. The names reflect a continuum of greatness to farce and mediocrity. In the annals of U.S. law enforcement, no individual has reached the depths of disgrace as James “Cardinal” Comey.

The “Cardinal” was a sobriquet FBI agents used to denigrate their leader. As Deputy Attorney General, he was called “drama queen.” Known for his pomposity and self-regard, Comey cut a swath of arrogance unknown in either of those illustrious organizations. He was the cult of personality. He surrounded himself with sycophants, people dedicated to his promotion and their advancement. The Bureau and the public became the losers.

James Comey politicized the FBI, America’s premier law enforcement agency. It started on July 6, 2016, when he usurped the authority of Attorney General Loretta Lynch in violation of the Constitution, the law and DOJ regulations.

He destroyed Hillary’s campaign when he unethically and unprofessionally described her conduct with pejorative words such as “criminal” and then illegally exonerated her of the crimes.

President Obama should have fired him that day. But he did not. Why? Perhaps because he had knowledge of Hillary’s avoidance of any protected email channels because he communicated with her on her private server using a pseudonym.

Rashida Tlaib accused of anti-Semitic slur, days after profane anti-Trump tirade

Less than a week after issuing a profanity-infused call to impeach President Trump on her first day in office, Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib is under fire from Republican politicians and commentators for openly posting what they call an anti-Semitic dog whistle on Twitter.

Top Republicans in the Senate are also alleging that Democratic leaders are hoping to hide the fact that Tlaib is just one of many new Democratic politicians in Congress who harbor deeply anti-Israel views.

Tlaib, responding to a post by Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday, suggested that Senate Republicans were more loyal to Israel than the U.S., amid a report that GOP leaders were planning to introduce a bill that would punish companies that participate in the so-called "Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions" (BDS) global movement against Israel. BDS proponents seek to pressure Israel through economic and other means -- often, until Israel ceases to exist in its current form.

"They forgot what country they represent," Tlaib, a Palestinian-American who made history last week by becoming one of the first two Muslim women to ever serve in Congress, wrote.

Great American Blue State Exodus

People are fleeing the northeast but they need to leave their old values behind with their old lives...

The most talked-about story of the day is a real humanitarian tragedy. It is the story of a great wave of miserable humanity fleeing oppressive regimes to find a better life. Their journey is arduous but they are not all worthy of our sympathy, as many of them simply refuse to assimilate into their new surroundings should they complete their migration successfully. Instead, they complain, expect certain privileges, and stick to their old ways rather than conform to the local culture and customs. We are speaking, of course, about Americans who flee the Northeast to settle in the South.

Other than the gorgeous fall colors, there is not much to like about the blue states crushed together in the top right-hand corner of the American map. The climate is unpleasant, the cities overcrowded, the general mood cold and indifferent, and practically the only decent food is that which has been culturally appropriated from other parts of the world.

To make things even worse, the taxes are high and the laws are many. Corrupt politicians rule with an iron fist. Individual freedom is almost unheard of. Think of banana republics without the bananas and you get a pretty good idea.
Escape From New Jersey

Perhaps the least appealing of these unappealing states is New Jersey, comically known as the Garden State. New York’s mentally-challenged cousin, New Jersey witnessed the largest exodus of any American state in 2018, according to a report in The New York Post. The Empire State itself wasn’t far behind.

The Post quotes United Van Lines – the company that conducted the survey into internal U.S. migration – as stating “The Northeast region continues to see more residents leaving than moving in, with 57 percent of all moves within the Northeast US being outbound moves.”

Indiana Grocery Store Can't Process Food Stamp Payments Due To Govt. Shutdown

We warned last week what could happen if the government shutdown continues into February...

If people are getting this restless already, what will things look like when tens of millions of Americans are suddenly cut off from their primary source of food money?

In Clay City, Indiana, the local IGA discovered the problem last week. Initially, they thought it was a technical glitch.

“Our machines weren’t taking any EBT cards and we didn’t really know what was going on. We didn’t know if it was a technical issue. And then we found out it was due to the government shutting down,” Tristen Malone said. (source)

And although it’s for a slightly different reason, The Red Lion store in York County, Pennsylvania has also had issues. New owners recently purchased the grocery store and sent in their application to accept government benefits before the shutdown occurred.

“Right now we’re officially frozen because the government is shut down and we can’t process our application.”

Tom Lohr is the new owner of D & K.

He says they tried to get pre-approved for the license before the sale went through.

“We tried to be proactive and start this in December, late November, early December , set up the new entities with the businesses it just has not worked out.”

Lohr purchased the business, but doesn’t own the company name, so the license belongs to the original owners.

“We were trying to make it a smooth transition where it would happen the first day we opened, they said if we didn’t hear anything by January 4th to give them a call back. They went dead basically just before Christmas, I think,” said Lohr.

Sixteen percent of their business comes from people who use food stamps.

D & K wants to be able to serve those in need, they’re just waiting for the government to re-open. (source)

Why marriage is a lot like halibut fishing

Whenever I meet a couple that has been married for more than 50 years I always ask them how they’ve done it. One man said, “We agreed whoever wants the divorce has to take everything in the garage.”

A 94-year-old woman whose husband was 96 at the time whispered to me, “We always sleep naked and I keep my hand on Ted’s butt!” It’s gross, but kind of beautiful too.

“There are only three words you need to stay married,” a crusty old man told me. “Yes, my empress.” Women seem to like that one a lot.

If ever a couple understood what it takes to stay married, Bob and Cindy were it. I met them deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Most of the year they live on a forty-foot boat surrounded by nothing but forest and water. There are no roads and it’s a hundred miles to the nearest neighbors. Occasionally, fisherman fly into the bay to spend the day halibut fishing on their boat.

Bob and Cindy never really know if they will have company on any given day. Often, the weather is too lousy for flying. Most of the time they’re alone, with nowhere to go but forty feet of boat. Bob is tall and wiry. His skin is leathery and sunburned beneath his eyes; his hands scarred and rough as sandpaper. He smells like halibut and diesel. Cindy is pretty. She has thin, dirty blond hair streaked with gray. Sparkling blue eyes and a kind smile with lines of weather and age cut deep in her face. She smells like halibut and diesel too.
