O'Malley Family Has "Teachable Moment"

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and his wife, Katie, are coping with the same concern a lot of other parents have this time of year -- like what happens at graduation parties.

The O’Malleys' 18-year-old daughter, Tara, was hospitalized briefly Thursday night in Baltimore after attending a graduation celebration.

Tara O’Malley graduated Wednesday from Notre Dame Academy in Baltimore County.

Woodland Ferry Resumes Service

Seaford -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that the Woodland Ferry resumed service on Tuesday, May 25 following a successful U.S. Coast Guard inspection. This inspection ensures compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and safe operation of the vessel.

The ferry's return to service was delayed by various thruster and hydraulic issues, which required DelDOT to proceed in a manner such that warranties were not made null and void. In addition, it is important to note that the work that occurred on the vessel during this downtime was necessary in order to return the vessel to an expected level of safety and service.

DelDOT appreciates the patience of motorists and area residents during the ferry's downtime.

BREAKING NEWS: Thomas Leggs Case Going To Cecil County

Judge Long delivered the news to States Attorney Davis Ruark this morning. The Thomas Leggs Murder Trial will be in Cecil County, Elkton, Maryland to be exact.

Elkton is about two hours from Salisbury, meaning quite a bit of time and expense on Wicomico County. The Tolls alone will be $12.00 per day, per vehicle. That is, if you take Rt. 13 to Dover, Rt. 1 to Rt 95 to Rt. 279 in Elkton. You can avoid the Tolls by taking Rt. 50 West to Rt. 213 North and ride that to the end in Elkton.

More to come.

UPDATE: Judge D. William Simpson will be the residing Judge in this murder trial. Originally posted at 10:49 AM. Thomas Leggs is accused of murdering 11 year old Sarah Foxwell.

SFD Shift Changes BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

Joe please post this memo about the Salisbury Fire Department shift changes. This affects the majority of the career division and it was unnecessary. This definitely displays poor leadership attributes in Ireton's choice for Acting Fire Chief Hoppes and Acting Deputy Fire Chief Bragg. These goons have created more turmoil within the Fire Department and the moral is the worst it has ever been.

None of the key people were involved in this and it will create more of a hostile work environment. Mayor Ireton the Career Firefighters endorsed your election and helped you get elected. Is this the payback you are giving them? Please get rid of Hoppes and Bragg now. The employees and their families don't need this turmoil which you have created and allowed by giving those morons the power and authority they can't handle.

For Obama, Golfing Is A Very Leisurely Pursuit

OAK BLUFFS, Mass.Bill Clinton was famous for the creative way he kept score. Both George Bushes would speed-golf through 18 holes as if they had to beat the clock, not the course.

And President Obama?

Long, slow rounds. A lot of time hunting for balls in the woods. All dished up with a dollop of trash-talking.

The First Golfer brought his duffer’s game to Martha’s Vineyard this week. By Thursday, Mr. Obama had logged three golf games in four days, appearing at one island course after another.

He spent five hours on Monday afternoon playing 18 holes at the Farm Neck Golf Club here, two and a half hours on Tuesday playing nine holes at Mink Meadows Golf Club in Vineyard Haven, and several hours playing Thursday afternoon at the Vineyard Golf Club in Edgartown.

While Mr. Obama has indulged in other vacation activities — he took his family bike riding Thursday morning, went to the beach on Wednesday and took his wife to dinner Tuesday night — golf has been the only recurring one.

So, clearly, the president likes to hit the links. But is he any good at it, especially compared with his predecessors?

“His golf games are long because he’s not very good,” said Don Van Natta Jr., a reporter for The New York Times who wrote “First Off the Tee: Presidential Hackers, Duffers and Cheaters From Taft to Bush” (PublicAffairs, 2003).

Unlike Mr. Clinton, who had a reputation for shaving strokes off his score, Mr. Obama “doesn’t fudge his scores,” Mr. Van Natta said, adding: “If he shoots an 11 on a hole, he will write down 11.” (Mr. Obama shoots in the 90s on a good day, Mr. Van Natta said.)

Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

Tyrell Donta Ravenell, 22yoa of Salisbury, MD was charged with Possession of Marihuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Paraphernalia (7 counts), Trespass, Assault on Police Officer, and Resist Arrest.

On May 26, 2010
at approximately 5:00pm, officers of the Safe Streets Team were on patrol in the area of Rt 50 and Delaware Ave. The officers observed a vehicle with an expired temporary registration plate. The vehicle was stopped and the officers made contact with the driver and passenger, later identified as Ravenell. As the officers met with the subjects, suspected drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. A search was conducted and an amount of marihuana was located to indicate distribution. When told that he was under arrest, Ravenell pulled away from one of the officers and fled on foot through several yards in the Penn St area. One of these yards was clearly posted, “No Trespassing.” Ravenell was observed by a responding officer trying to hide under a vehicle. When the Ravenell was pulled from under the vehicle, he pushed an officer to the ground and attempted to flee again. Ravenell was captured after another brief foot chase. Ravenell was released to Central Booking.

On May 27, 2010 at approximately 2:51am, Officers responded to the 300 block of Princeton Avenue for a burglary that had just occurred.

It was learned that a white male, approximately 30yoa, with an average build, weight, and beard had gained entry into a bedroom occupied by two juveniles, one 11yoa, and the other 8yoa. One juvenile awoke to find the white male staring at her. The juvenile remembered that the white male was also wearing a wool cap and was possibly naked. The juvenile screamed and the white male exited the bedroom through an open window.

Officers located a shirt near the residence which is gray in color with the following words in blue letters, “Saints beat those Eagles” along with a graphic design on the front and the back of the shirt read, “Make em sore away Marymount vs Mary Washington 02/14/09.” The shirt did not belong to any of the residents.

Officers also learned that entry into the residence was possibly gained through an open window. The subject used a cinder block from the yard to stand on and remove the screen to make entry inside the residence.

Anyone with any information regarding the suspect is requested to contact the Police Department at 410.548.3165 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.

You've Been Blogged

Folks, if you see any animals in this kind of heat locked up in a vehicle, (like this one at Home Depot moments ago) please contact the Police immediately. The individual who took this picture got the tag number and did in fact contact the Police but the driver pulled away before the Police could arrive.

Clearly these animals were gasping for cooler air but let's Blog every single one of them you come across and expose them. Are you with me on this one?

FREE Kittens To Good Home

Hi Joe

I am trying very hard to find homes for 3 kittens. Their mom was dropped off at our house in Delmar and now has gifted us with them. We cannot keep them although I would love to, a friend suggested I send you a picture and ask you to post them . I know you have a good amount of success finding the owners of lost dogs so I was wondering if you'd mind showing them . I really want them to have good homes. I have attached a picture of two of the three. I currently have them here at my office in Salisbury if anyone wants to come by and have a look.

My work number is 410-742-3201

IRETON’S OVERT HOSTILITY TO LANDLORDS IS MISGUIDED – PART TWO

In reaction to the public comment remarks made by landlord Stu Leer at this week’s meeting of the Salisbury City Council, Mayor Ireton has posted on the City’s website lists of what he describes as “code compliance violations” and “calls for [police] service” at rental properties owned and operated by Mr. Leer or the firm in which he is an owner. Ireton’s descriptions are highly misleading; many of the listed items are designated as “closed” without any action and others do not specify any violation. Some of the items actually occurred before the property was owned by Mr. Leer or his firm. Mr. Ireton has simply compiled lists of every matter, including many still “under investigation,” that specify the address of a rental property owned by Mr. Leer or his firm and falsely described them all as code violations or crime.

The lists do not indicate who made the calls or reported the incidents. Mr. Leer believes that in many instances the initiator was either him or one of the tenants. He has urged his tenants to report criminal conduct or suspicious activity to the police – the “neighborhood watch” concept – and many of the items are designated “suspicion.”

This latest action by Ireton is obviously intended by him to support his assertion that “the rental industry must police their own” because “the City cannot continue to be involved in the relationship between tenant and landlord.” Those statements reflect either Ireton’s utter ignorance or, much more troublesome, his unwillingness to cooperate with landlords to address and resolve to the greatest possible extent the problems that plague neighborhoods in which there is significant rental occupancy.

The notion that landlords can “police” one another without governmental involvement is both fatuous and bad public policy. Only the City can enforce its codes and criminal laws. If a working relationship existed between the “rental industry” and City officials, the task of the City would be much more effective and efficient for the benefit of all residents and property owners. SAPOA, a group of landlords, approached Mr. Ireton soon after he was elected and has submitted a proposed plan (“Memorandum of Understanding”) for his consideration.

To date, Ireton has failed to discuss the matter with SAPOA. Instead, he has attacked and vilified a landlord who is a prime mover in its effort to build rapport with the City and threatened that if the “rental industry” does not “police their own,” the City will do so. That attitude may be the basis for Ireton’s attempt “Slum Property of the Week” and the addition of another property inspector to be funded by increased fees for rental registration. Even if another inspector is needed, Ireton’s attitude may soon put the City on a slippery slope (if it’s not already) in which the cost to the City of policing rental property increases as its effectiveness decreases.

As we have observed, why Ireton does not respond in a positive manner to the landlords’ attempt to interface with the City is perplexing. He has offered various reasons, including that he is “too busy,” and castigated Mr. Leer. For whatever reason, Ireton seems to be incapable of coming together with those whom he has often reviled as irresponsible or worse to find common ground on which to form a relationship. As mentioned above, his reaction to recent commentary about the situation by Mr. Leer and another SAPOA member has been to attack Mr. Leer.

The truly astounding aspect of the situation is that SAPOA’s position has undergone a major shift from its former opposition to any regulation by the City to offering to facilitate that function, but Ireton is unwilling to consider any relationship for that purpose. It seems that, having built his political base by railing against the “rental industry” he cannot bring himself to engage with it.

How Ireton’s conduct, if continued, can avoid moving the City onto and down the slippery slope is hard to imagine, and that result may soon become difficult or impossible to reverse. The intervention of an impartial mediator could be the last best hope to achieve an appropriate relationship between the City and the rental industry.

Mayor Ireton, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!

"The Bricks," directly across the street from Code & Compliance.

Rails ready to fall down and parts already falling off.

Weeds growing up the building.

Need I say more?

In the last two photos, what's missing is a structure bearing support beam that isn't even there. Code & Compliance wrote me up for wires, (not live) exposed on my building, yet look what they have exposed on "The Bricks."

If you, (as Mayor) want to go after others, mind your own property first and set an example. Would you like me to go inspect the $2 Billion worth of property the City owns? I'm sure Mr. Leer and SAPOA would be more than happy to provide me with a list of those properties. Let's just see where the City stands.

Oh, that's right, I forgot. The City has an "INTERNAL MORATORIUM" for the Good Old Boys. Be careful Mayor, the ice just got a whole lot thinner and you may want to learn from the former Mayor, former Police Chief and former Warden, Joe Albero is NOT someone you want to mess with.

Mayor Ireton Meets With Camden Association On Historical District

While I was taking down notes at last nights meeting, I waited for everyone to ask their questions in the hopes of asking one of my own. My question was one in which would have helped ALL of the Camden residents as well as our readers. I signaled to Jim that I'd like to ask a question and he shook his head, NO. I simply walked back to the table I was at, grabbed my things and walked the hell out.

You know what Folks, I'm a very busy man as it is. To take the additional time to cover such events takes time away from quality time at home and I refuse to be disrespected by Jim Ireton or anyone else for that matter. I'm not burning the gas to go to an Ireton event any more.

After sitting patiently for a half hour of Jim Ireton going on and on about OTHER matters in the City of Salisbury and him finally getting around to why he was actually there, I could have been home playing ball with my Grandson or eating the soft shell crabs my Wife had prepared for dinner last night. Instead, I come home to room temperature crabs and a Grandson who is already in bed.

That being said, I'm done trying to work with this Mayor. This has happened numerous times in the past and if Jim wants to rely on HIS people or the Daily Times, go for it. It should be noted, I was the ONLY Press in the room. No one else chose to attend. It should also be noted that Ireton had a Salisbury Police Officer there for protection. I guess he's afraid of Stu Leer or the thousands of other citizens simply tired of his BS.

So there you have it. There was a meeting last night, I walked out and Jim Ireton is now on his own. It should be noted, ALL of Jim's supporters have pretty much disappeared as they too have had enough of his childish behavior. Don't you believe for one second that Mayor Ireton believes in open government because he doesn't.

He's playing the very same games Barie Tilghman did, presenting information moments before meetings get started and not allowing Council Members ANY time to review such information. The political games end right here and now. He also likes to pick and choose his media moments.

No Jim, I'm not out to do to you what you have done to others, (and you and I both know I hold a TON of that kind of stuff on you). I refuse to sit in a room any more when there's no other Press and like last night you say there's no Press in the room. Show me some respect and I'll be more than happy to return the favor. Until then, I'll simply play ball with my Grandson and eat fresh hot crab cake samiches while you can go screw yourself.

Gulf Oil Gusher Conspiracy Cover-Up

Was this disaster just an accident, or were other more sinister forces at play in order to further cripple society toward a more manageable population size? Ominous midnight symbolism. BP's "live" feed caught in an obvious short loop shows further evidence of cover-up.

The Internet is abuzz regarding the 2008 moving "Knowing" that includes a scene in which actor Nicolas Cage is watching the news on television. The clock shows 11:59 when the anchor announces a devastating fire burning out of control in the gulf. Then the clock flips to 12:00, and the anchor says "that story leads our headlines at the top of the hour."

Midnight has long been associated with end times. With the "doomsday clock", the closer the clock is to midnight, the closer the world is estimated to be to global disaster.

One of the interesting things about the New World Order connivers is that for some reason they believe they must announce what they're going to do before they do it to you. Often, this predictive programming is done through the medium of Hollywood.

Most people would look at this as a coincidence, or maybe a lucky guess. I certainly don't have all the answers, but I do think this is an important question to pose.

Could it be that this Gulf oil volcano disaster was planned ahead of time for some nefarious purpose? What possible benefit could such a breach have for the oil industry, whose image is already suffering from an increasing abhorrence to its pollution and the wars it fosters? You would think that such an unfolding would only galvanize people in favor of cleaner alternative fuels and energy sources.

It's hard to fathom their possible reasons when we look at it from our perspective that has the betterment of humanity as the driving motivation. But if you look at this from the perspective of those who seek to reduce human population down to half a billion – a much more manageable size for control – then the possible motivations begin coming more clearly into focus.

Stu Leer Responds To Mayor Ireton

Noonan: Obama Incompetent

I don't see how the president's position and popularity can survive the oil spill. This is his third political disaster in his first 18 months in office. And they were all, as they say, unforced errors, meaning they were shaped by the president's political judgment and instincts.

There was the tearing and unnecessary war over his health-care proposal and its cost. There was his day-to-day indifference to the views and hopes of the majority of voters regarding illegal immigration. And now the past almost 40 days of dodging and dithering in the face of an environmental calamity. I don't see how you politically survive this.

The president, in my view, continues to govern in a way that suggests he is chronically detached from the central and immediate concerns of his countrymen. This is a terrible thing to see in a political figure, and a startling thing in one who won so handily and shrewdly in 2008. But he has not, almost from the day he was inaugurated, been in sync with the center. The heart of the country is thinking each day about A, B and C, and he is thinking about X, Y and Z. They're in one reality, he's in another.

The American people have spent at least two years worrying that high government spending would, in the end, undo the Republic. They saw the dollars gushing night and day, and worried that while everything looked the same on the surface, our position was eroding. They have worried about a border that is in some places functionally and of course illegally open, that it too is gushing night and day with problems that states, cities and towns there cannot solve.

And now we have a videotape metaphor for all the public's fears: that clip we see every day, on every news show, of the well gushing black oil into the Gulf of Mexico and toward our shore. You actually don't get deadlier as a metaphor for the moment than that, the monster that lives deep beneath the sea.

Remarkable is the way both BP and the government, 40 days in, continue to act shocked, shocked that an accident like this could have happened. If you're drilling for oil in the deep sea, of course something terrible can happen, so you have a plan on what to do when it does.

How could there not have been a plan? How could it all be so ad hoc, so inadequate, so embarrassing? We're plugging it now with tires, mud and golf balls?

The disaster in the Gulf may well spell the political end of the president and his administration, and that is no cause for joy. It's not good to have a president in this position—weakened, polarizing and lacking broad public support—less than halfway through his term. That it is his fault is no comfort. It is not good for the stability of the world, or its safety, that the leader of "the indispensble nation" be so weakened. I never until the past 10 years understood the almost moral imperative that an American president maintain a high standing in the eyes of his countrymen.

Mr. Obama himself, when running for president, made much of Bush administration distraction and detachment during Katrina. Now the Republican Party will, understandably, go to town on Mr. Obama's having gone only once to the gulf, and the fund-raiser in San Francisco that seemed to take precedence, and the EPA chief who went to a New York fund-raiser in the middle of the disaster.

Census

Joe,

"I just received the American Community Survey in the mail and this disturbs me. There are allot of questions on the survey that I feel are too personal; like how much is my mortgage on my home; what are total taxes paid on home; our total income during the past 12 months etc. I just don't see how this concerns the census! And to get my dander up even more it says that I HAVE TO fill it out as required by law (Title 13. U.S. Code, Sections 141 and 193) or they will impose a penalty for not responding! I was wondering what the public on your blog has to say about it."

BE SAFE – BEACH SMART: WALK WITH WISDOM & BIKE WITH BRAINS

The official start of summer is approaching, and as visitors flock to Ocean City to celebrate their holiday this weekend, the Ocean City Police Department wants to remind citizens to BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS.

The BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS campaign is focusing on educating visitors and residents on pedestrian and bicycle safety. On a typical summer day in Ocean City, the sun is shining, the ocean waves are crashing and the smell of the salt water fills the air. While the sights and sounds are beautiful to observe, they can also be distracting. The Ocean City Police Department’s BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS campaign will remind citizens of the important safety tips to use while crossing the street or riding a bicycle.

In addition to safety tips for pedestrians and bicyclists, the BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS will inform drivers on important information they can use when driving on a roadway with pedestrians or bicyclists. BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS will provide safety information on a weekly basis from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The information will be released through the Ocean City Police Community Outreach Email Program and on the OCPD Official Blog. For more information regarding the BE SAFE, BEACH SMART – WALK WITH WISDOM AND BIKE WITH BRAINS, please contact the Ocean City Police Department’s Public Affairs Office at 410.520,5395.

Democrats To Border States: Drop Dead

The Senate has rejected three amendments to an appropriations bill that would have increased funding for security at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Senate considered three border-security amendments today to H.R. 4899, the $58.8 billion Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act. The amendments were introduced by senators from Texas and Arizona.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and 10 co-sponsors offered Senate Amendment 4214, which would have provided for 6,000 National Guard troops to support and secure the U.S.-Mexico border. That amendment was rejected by Democrats and Republican Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio.

Also, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and three co-sponsors offered Senate amendment 4202 to use unspent U.S. stimulus dollars to pay for border fence surveillance and monitoring technologies. That amendment was rejected by Democrats and independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Likewise, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., offered Senate Amendment 4228, which would have appropriated $200 million for a law enforcement initiative to address illegal crossings of the border. That amendment was also rejected by Democrats and Sen. Sanders.

Several illegal immigration advocacy groups had called upon members to oppose the amendments, including League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, and the National Council of La Raza.

The Obama administration announced its decision this week to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S. southern border to counter cross-border drug and weapons trafficking. However, many lawmakers have warned that 1,200 would not be enough.

Former Rep. Tom Tancredo told WND he doesn't believe Obama's decision to send troops is intended to improve the situation.

"I don't think anybody thinks this matters," he said. "Obama certainly doesn't."

He added, "The desire is not to fix the problem. The desire is to have amnesty. All of this is in anticipation of amnesty."

Cleanup Boats Sent To Shore After More Workers Get Sick

All 125 commercial vessels working to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico have been ordered back to shore temporarily after four workers on three separate vessels became ill, according to a Deepwater Horizon Response press release.

It's unclear whether the crew members were working with chemical oil dispersants, which have been criticized for their toxicity. Our calls to officials in the region have not yet been returned.

The sick workers said they had headaches and chest pain, and were nauseated and dizzy. One was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Marrero, La., another was taken by boat and two were taken in an ambulance, according to the press release.

Geek 101: LCD And Plasma TV Basics

A guide to terms like ‘refresh rate,’ ‘backlighting’ and ‘contrast ratios’

If you've gone shopping for a new PC or HDTV, you've probably seen a dizzying array of display-technology terms bandied about in the fine-print specs listings on store shelves. You may have asked yourself, "What do these terms mean? Does any of it really matter?" We hear you. Here's our no-nonsense guide to what these specs mean, what you need to know about them, and what you should be looking out for.

LCD and plasma are the most common types of displays you'll see on the market. Plasma is predominantly used for HDTVs, while LCDs are common in both TVs and computer monitors. Several other interesting technologies are on the horizon, as well.

Some of the most important factors contributing to a display's quality are its color depth (how accurately the screen can reproduce colors), its viewing angle (whether any color shifting occurs when you view the screen from the sides), and its motion processing (how well the screen can handle fast-action scenes). We'll look at all of those topics in this primer.

Mexican Work Visa

American working in Mexico

From the other side of the fence...
Received the following from a guy who was a Director with S.W. BELL in Mexico City :

"I spent five years working in Mexico . I worked under a tourist Visa for three months and could legally renew it for three more months. After that you were working illegally. I was technically illegal for three weeks waiting on the FM3 approval.

"During that six months our Mexican and U.S. attorneys were working to secure a permanent work visa called a 'FM3'. It was in addition to my U.S. passport that I had to show each time I entered and left the country. Barbara's was the same, except hers did not permit her to work.

"To apply for the FM3, I needed to submit the following notarized originals (not copies):
1. Birth certificate for Barbara and me.
2. Marriage certificate.
3. High school transcripts and proof of graduation.
4. College transcripts for every college I attended and proof of graduation.
5. Two letters of recommendation from supervisors I had worked for at least one year.
6. A letter from the St. Louis Chief of Police indicating that I had no arrest record in the U.S. and no
outstanding warrants and, was "a citizen in good standing".
7. "Finally, I had to write a letter about myself that clearly stated why there was no Mexican citizen with my skills and why my skills were important to Mexico . We called it our 'I am the greatest person on Earth' letter. It was fun to write."

"All of the above were in English that had to be translated into Spanish and be certified as legal translations, and our signatures notarized. It produced a folder about 1.5 inches thick with English on the left side & Spanish on the right."

"Once they were completed Barbara and I spent about five hours, accompanied by a Mexican attorney, touring Mexican government office locations and being photographed and fingerprinted at least three times at each location, and we remember at least four locations where we were instructed on Mexican tax, labor, housing, and criminal law and that we were required to obey their laws or face the consequences. We could not protest any of the government's actions or we would be committing a felony. We paid out four thousand dollars in fees and bribes to complete the process. When this was done we could legally bring in our household goods that were held by U.S. Customs in Laredo , Texas . This meant we had rented furniture in Mexico while awaiting our goods. There were extensive fees involved here that the company paid."

"We could not buy a home and were required to rent at very high rates and under contract and compliance with Mexican law."

"We were required to get a Mexican driver's license. This was an amazing process. The company arranged for the licensing agency to come to our headquarters location with their photography and fingerprint equipment and the laminating machine. We showed our U.S. license, were photographed and fingerprinted again and issued the license instantly after paying out a six dollar fee. We did not take a written or driving test and never received instructions on the rules of the road. Our only instruction was to never give a policeman your license if stopped and asked. We were instructed to hold it against the inside window away from his grasp. If he got his hands on it you would have to pay ransom to get it back."

"We then had to pay and file Mexican income tax annually using the number of our FM3 as our ID number. The company's Mexican accountants did this for us and we just signed what they prepared. It was about twenty legal size pages annually."

"The FM3 was good for three years and renewable for two more after paying more fees."

"Leaving the country meant turning in the FM3 and certifying we were leaving no debts behind and no outstanding legal affairs (warrants, tickets or liens) before our household goods were released to customs."

"It was a real adventure and if any of our Senators or Congressmen went through it once they would have a different attitude toward Mexico ."

"The Mexican government uses its vast military and police forces to keep its citizens intimidated and compliant. They never protest at their capitol or government offices, but do protest daily in front of the United States Embassy. The U.S. Embassy looks like a strongly reinforced fortress and during most protests the Mexican military surrounds the block with their men standing shoulder to shoulder in full riot gear to protect the Embassy. These protests are never shown on U.S. or Mexican TV. There is a large public park across the street where they do their protesting. Anything can cause a protest such as proposed law changes in California or Texas ."

Wall Street Finally Sees The REAL Obama

Wall Street Journal Sizes up Obama - They've Got Him Figured Out

A short article from the Wall Street Journal that needs to be read by every level headed American!!!

A "deadly" article regarding Obama, at the Wall Street Journal, which today is the most widely circulated newspaper in America.

by Eddie Sessions:

"I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he's led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? "Dreams of My Father" was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The "Audacity of Hope" followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a "communist with a small 'c'" was the real author.

His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley's formidable political machine at his disposal.

He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some greater game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder, was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?

He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.

And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984's Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.

Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.

Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to "wish away" some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .

The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign "world tour" were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.

Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, ha s positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party's hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.

Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an "obstreperous" Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted "Allahu Akbar." The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber "an isolated extremist" only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.

He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America. He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.

The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.

Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual's life.

When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.

We laugh at the ventriloquist's dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States of America?

The Truth About Politics, Heaven & Hell

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

The Senator's soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

St. Peter says, "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules", replies St.Peter.

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the Devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

"Now it's time to visit heaven," St Peter says.

So, 24 hours pass with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and the 24 hours in heaven passes by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now which will you choose for your eternity?" St Peter asks.

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers, "Well, I never would have thought it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be happier and better off .. In hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The Devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The Devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning..

Today .. You voted."

Democrats Stop Bid To Send 6,000 Troops To Border

President Barack Obama's Democratic allies in the Senate on Thursday killed a move by presidential rival John McCain to send an additional 6,000 National Guard troops to the U.S-Mexico border.

The Arizona Republican says the security situation along the order has deteriorated so badly that 3,000 guard troops are needed just to help protect his state. Even though McCain won support from a dozen Democrats, he failed to muster the 60-vote supermajority required to adopt his plan under Senate rules.

Democrats also repelled more than $2 billion in additional border security spending proposed by border state Republicans John Cornyn of Texas and Jon Kyl of Arizona.

"The borders are broken," McCain said Thursday. "We have an obligation to our citizens to secure our border and allow them to lead lives where they not live in fear."

Kyl proposed expanding a program that throws illegal immigrants in jail for two weeks before deporting them back to Mexico, which he said is a deterrent to them trying again.

Cornyn wanted money for state and local law enforcement agencies, unmanned drone aircraft and other equipment, and additional Border Patrol officers and immigration agents.

Both amendments got 54 votes but fell short of the required 60-vote supermajority.

"Until we deal with this broken border, we are not going to be able to deal with other aspects of our broken immigration system," Cornyn said.

A top Democrat said Republicans were throwing money at the problem and urged waiting until Obama sends up his border security plan next week.

"This is a huge amount of money ... from colleagues who talk fiscal moderation," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "It's sort of throwing an enormous amount of money at the problem."

Consumer Spending Is Weakest In 7 Months

Flat reading for April raises concerns about whether recovery will stall

WASHINGTON
- Consumer spending was stagnant in April while incomes posted a tiny advance, signs that the economic recovery could slow.

The Commerce Department said Friday that consumer spending was unchanged last month, the weakest showing in seven months. Economists had expected a 0.3 percent rise. Personal incomes rose 0.4 percent, less than the 0.5 percent gain economists had forecast.

More people are holding on to their money, the report noted. The savings rate rose 3.6 percent in April. The rate had fallen to 3.1 percent in March, the lowest reading since October 2008.

U.S. Official: Flow Of Oil From Spill Has Stopped

But BP says it will be 48 hours before success of 'top kill' will be known

WASHINGTON
- The flow of oil from the broken well in the Gulf of Mexico has stopped, the U.S. incident commander Admiral Thad Allen claimed Friday, but BP warned it would be a further 48 hours before it was known whether the "top kill" procedure had been successful.

The next 12 to 18 hours would be "very critical" in the effort to stop the gusher which has caused the worst oil spill in U.S. history, Allen said on ABC's Good Morning America show.

BP's CEO Tony Hayward told NBC's TODAY show that the top kill attempt, which involves shooting heavy drilling mud into the blown-out well 5,000 feet underwater, was "proceeding pretty well according to plan."

But the exec maintained that the procedure, which has never been attempted before so deep underwater, still had only a 60-70 percent chance of success, although some of the risks had been reduced.

Obama Threatens 14 US Governors With Immediate Arrest For The Crime Of Treason.

A chilling report from the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) prepared for Prime Minister Putin warns today that United States President Barack Obama has had served on 14 US Governors National Security Letters (NSLs) warning that if their actions in attempting to form what are called State Defense Forces are not halted they will face "immediate" arrest for the crime of treason.

The use of NSLs in the United States was authorized by the Patriot Act law enacted after the September 11, 2001 attacks and forbids anyone receiving them from even acknowledging their existence, and was reauthorized by Obama's "rubberstamp" Congress this past February over the objections of both civil and human rights groups who warned they mimic similar type "government security notices" enacted under both the former German Nazi and Soviet Communist regimes.

To the issue angering Obama against these State Governors, this report continues, is their attempt to reestablish what are called State Defense Forces which are described as follows:

"State Defense Forces (SDF) (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, or State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States.

State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are distinct from their state's National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.

The federal government recognizes State Defense Forces under 32 U.S.C. § 109 which provides that State Defense Forces as a whole may not be called, ordered, or drafted into the Armed Forces of the United States, thus preserving their separation from the National Guard."

Important to note is that Obama, as President of the United States is also its most powerful military leader known by the term of Commander in Chief, and is authorized by the Militia Act of 1903 to federalize his individual States National Guard Forces putting them under his command, something he does not have the power to do with State Defense Forces.

Obama's fear of these State Defense Forces, this report says, rests with his not having power over them, and with the bulk of the US Military Forces he does control being stretched to near breaking with the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan would leave these State military forces under the control of these Governors in "defacto control" of the United States.

The two US Governors spearheading this rebellion against Obama, this report states, are the Republican opposition party Governors of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty and Texas, Rick Perry; both of whom have a deep fear their President is destroying their Nation.

Governor Pawlenty's fear of Obama is that since he took office he has appeased America's enemies while at the same time shunning some of America's most stalwart allies, especially Israel. Governor Pawlenty recently castigated Obama for abandoning the US missile defense plan for Europe by saying, "The lessons of history are clear: Appeasement and weakness did not stop the Nazis, did not stop the Soviets, and did not stop the terrorists before 9/11. We must stand strong with allies like Israel and eastern Europe in the face of growing challenges to our national security."

Governor Perry has blasted Obama and warned his fellow Texans that the President is "hell bent on socialism" and is punishing his State by dumping tens-of-thousands of illegal Mexican immigrants into their cities and small towns. Governor Perry further warned Texans that that if "Barack Obama's Washington doesn't stop being so oppressive, Texans might feel compelled to renounce their American citizenry and secede from the union."

Note: Following the end of the Civil War the rights of the individual US States to succeed from the Union was heard by their Supreme Court in a case called Texas v. White (1869) and who ruled that the Constitution did not permit States to secede from the United States, and that the ordinances of secession, and all the acts of the legislatures within seceding States intended to give effect to such ordinances, were "absolutely null". However, the decision did allow some possibility of divisibility "through revolution, or through consent of the States."

Obama, in fearing a revolution against him by the States, this report continues, has moved swiftly against them, including nationalizing nearly all National Guard Forces in Governor Pawlenty's Minnesota in what is being described as their State's largest call up of troops since World War II. Other reports coming from the United States are stating that Obama has also nationalized the National Guard forces in Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, and perhaps Texas too.

Though Obama may have taken from these dissident States their National Guard forces, the Governors of the States of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia still have under their sole command their State Defense Forces to go against US Federal forces.

Important to note in this report is its stating that there are no US laws prohibiting National Guard troops from also joining their State's Defense Forces, but would create a dilemma for those soldiers should they be called to service by them both at the same time. This dilemma occurred for many American soldiers during their Civil War with the great majority of them choosing to serve their States instead of the Federal Government.

To Governor Pawlenty's fears of Obama appeasing America's enemies, while at the same time harming its longstanding allies, their remains no doubt as during this past week alone he has put Israel's security in grave danger by releasing previously classified US documents relating to their nuclear programme, while at the same time removing sanctions on Russian arms makers supplying Iran. And in a move that even Russian military analysts are calling "insane", Obama this week said he has decided to pre-announce to the World once-secret American ballistic missile tests and satellite launches.

To Governor Perry's fears of Obama socializing the United States their remains no doubt either, and as we can read as reported yesterday by the USA Today News Service:

"Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds.

At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.

Those records reflect a long-term trend accelerated by the recession and the federal stimulus program to counteract the downturn. The result is a major shift in the source of personal income from private wages to government programs."

And in an even worse move against his own people who are still struggling to survive the growing Global economic collapse, new reports from the United States are stating that a "secret" programme found hidden in Obama's socialist healthcare law called the Community Living Assistance Services and Support Act (CLASS Act) is about to take from them another $150-$250 a month from their paychecks forcing tens of millions more of them into abject poverty and debt slavery.

To the final outcome of these events it is not in our knowing, other than to remind these Americans of Dr. Igor Panarin's 2008 prediction of the fate lying in store for them, and as we can read as reported by London's Telegraph News Service in their article titled "US will collapse and break up, Russian analyst predicts", and which says:

"Igor Panarin, a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian foreign affairs ministry, said the economic turmoil in the US had confirmed his long-held belief that the country was heading for extinction in its present form.

In an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestia, he outlined how the US would divide along ethnic and cultural lines.

They are: the Pacific coast with its growing Chinese population; the increasingly Hispanic South; independence-minded Texas; the Atlantic Coast; a central state with a large Native American population; and the northern states where - he maintains - Canadian influence is strong.

Alaska could be claimed by Russia, he said, claiming that the region was "only granted on lease, after all".

He said the country's break-up would be accelerated by rising unemployment and Americans losing their savings.

"The dollar isn't secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche; this is a pyramid, which has to collapse," said Prof Panarin."

And to those Americans believing they will be able to defend themselves against the fast approaching onslaught meant to destroy them they should think again, for even as these words are being written, Obama, through the United Nations, is preparing to disarm them all under the so called UN Treaty On Arms Control that he ordered his government to sign.

The late great American dissident comedian George Carlin once said, "It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it"….one can only hope these poor souls will awaken from their long slumber before all is lost.

Meanwhile, Down At The Border

The Department of Homeland Security is alerting Texas authorities to be on the lookout for a suspected member of the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group who might be attempting to travel to the U.S. through Mexico, a security expert who has seen the memo tells FOXNews.com.

The warning follows an indictment unsealed this month in Texas federal court that accuses a Somali man in Texas of running a “large-scale smuggling enterprise” responsible for bringing hundreds of Somalis from Brazil through South America and eventually across the Mexican border. Many of the illegal immigrants, who court records say were given fake IDs, are alleged to have ties to other now-defunct Somalian terror organizations that have merged with active organizations like Al Shabaab, al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Al-Islami.

The DHS alert was issued to police and sheriff’s deputies in Houston, asking them to keep their eyes open for a Somali man named Mohamed Ali who is believed to be in Mexico preparing to make the illegal crossing into Texas. Officials believe Ali has ties to Al Shabaab, a Somali terrorist organization aligned with Al Qaeda.

But Of Course, Nobody Will Try To Stop Him...

US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.

The clarification came after the Mexican government urged Washington not to use the additional troops to go after illegal immigrants.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, "It's not about immigration."

He said the move was "fully consistent with our efforts to do our part to stem, you know, violence, to interdict the flow of dangerous people and dangerous goods -- drugs, guns, people."

He said the extra troops would be used to free up civilians engaged in support functions so that law enforcement personnel can be increased along the 2,000-mile-long (3,200 kilometer) border.

And While The Troops Sit At Desk Jobs, Life Goes On...

The Mexican government has announced it respects the Obama administration's decision to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S. southern border to counter cross-border drug and weapons trafficking – just as long as the troops don't enforce U.S. immigration laws. The Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C., released the following statement on May 25:

"Regarding the administration's decision to send 1,200 National Guard servicemen to the U.S. Southern border, the government of Mexico trusts that this decision will help to channel additional U.S. resources to enhance efforts to prevent the illegal flows of weapons and bulk cash into Mexico, which provide organized crime with its firepower and its ability to corrupt.

"Additionally, the government of Mexico expects that National Guard personnel will strengthen U.S. operations in the fight against transnational organized crime that operates on both sides of our common border and that it will not, in accordance to its legal obligations, conduct activities directly linked to the enforcement of immigration laws.

"Arizona border residents told Fox News today that Obama's wavering immigration policy is only making things worse."

Every time our president talks to the Mexican president, or every time the word amnesty comes over the Mexican news, there is a flood of people," said one unnamed resident who feared retaliation.

The residents said troops won't deter illegal aliens and drug smugglers."There's guys out here with no guns, and they're our troops," she said. "The Mexicans think we're nuts."

Government Doesn't Like The Word Jihad-Unbelievable

This is unbelievable. What is it with the Government, when they refuse to say the word "Jihad" or refer to our enemies as so? Please go HERE and see an article about the president's top counterterrorism adviser called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies. Wargotz ON THE AIR. ‘A Second Opinion’

Health Care Reform, the Free Market and the IRS.

Annapolis, MD
Eric Wargotz, an elected member of the Queens Anne’s County Board of Commissioners and a candidate for US Senate from Maryland released the third of the campaign’s, “Eric on the Issues” radio ads, which are airing on talk radio stations around the state. Wargotz is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat currently held by four term incumbent Senator, Barbara Mikulski.

In the spot (click here) titled, “A Second Opinion,” Wargotz, a physician who knows first hand the need for health care reform, takes issue with Washington’s handling of health care reform.

“Washington's plan is about mandates and consequences, imposed by 16,000 new IRS agents. And the Internal Revenue Service is not known for having a compassionate bedside manner,” he states.

In the sixty-second ad, Wargotz offers a plan, “which does not put the government between you and your doctor.” He suggests that government reforms should provide for more options, not less. He supports medical savings accounts, portability, tort reform and the ability to purchase insurance across state lines.

“I believe competition and flexibility will reduce cost, increase participation and improve quality, not penalties enforced by the IRS,” he concludes.

The spot, which began airing recently, is the third in a series designed to highlight the cornerstones of the campaign. Previously, the campaign began airing, “Our Common Defense” on the issue of national security and “Promises Made” regarding his record as a County Commissioner. In the coming weeks, the economy and the environment will also be addressed.

Jail vs. Nursing Homes

Let's put the seniors in jail, and the criminals in a nursing home.

This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks, they'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc. and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes, and bring their meals and snacks to their cell. They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool, and education, simple clothing, shoes, slippers, P.J.'s and legal aid would be free, on request.

Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.

Each senior could have a P.C., T.V., Radio, and daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors, to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.

The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone, and unsupervised.

Lights off at 8 pm, and showers once a week.

Live in a tiny room, and pay $5000.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out.

Justice for all.

Oil Spill Keeps Fla. Panhandle Beaches Off List

Possibility of tar balls knocks popular beaches from annual survey

Tar balls are not a favorite among beach-goers. And with the oil slick creeping closer to shore along parts of the Gulf coast, there's a chance the gunk could become a reality along Florida's Panhandle. And already this tar-ball effect has bumped the Panhandle beaches off this year's Top 10 Best Beaches list.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Best Beaches list, put together by Stephen Leatherman of the Laboratory for Coastal Research, International Hurricane Research Center, which is part of Florida International University in Miami.

"The Panhandle beaches are some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world," Leatherman told LiveScience. "But because they are so close to the oil spill, I couldn't take the chance to put them on the list this year."
