Thursday at her weekly press conference, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said President Donald Trump’s immigration policies were “outside the circle of civilized human behavior.”

Pelosi said, “The Democrats have taken full responsibly for securing our borders. We know that that is a responsibility that we have. But we don’t think that we have to put children in cages to do it. There is a better way.”

She added, “The president is either not knowing, not caring, delusional, in denial about his own policies being outside the circle of civilized human behavior.”

Missouri man, 42, 'shoots his girlfriend in the back of the head in front of her own daughter after she refuses to give him $36' to buy back his pawned TV

Authorities allege a Missouri man killed his girlfriend in front of her daughter after she refused to lend him $36.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 42-year-old Brian Clay was charged Thursday in the shooting death of his girlfriend, 32-year-old Loreal Goode.

Police allege that Clay shot Goode in the head on Wednesday while they were in a car parked in a Family Dollar parking lot in Jennings.

Goode's 14-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle.

'My daughter didn't deserve this,' Goode's mother, Joann Goode, told the Post-Dispatch on Thursday. 'She didn't deserve to go out like this.'

Authorities say the shooting occurred after Goode refused Clay's request for a ride to a pawnshop and $36 so he could get his television back.


Even in the border crisis, Hillary Clinton cares most about herself

I don't know why people pay any serious attention to Hillary Clinton.

Yes, Hillary Clinton is a former secretary of state, U.S. senator, and first lady. But in 2018, the sum of her record is best assessed by a mislabeled reset button, two failed presidential bids, zero self-responsibility, and disrespect for those who risk their lives for hers. Moreover, Clinton's omnipresent penchant for cronyism evidences a view of politics as a means only to enrichment and of power as an end in and of itself.

Yet for some reason, Clinton retains the media's attention as some kind of moral visionary. Consider the current border crisis.

Sensing an opportunity to attack her nemesis, President Trump, and simultaneously regain relevance, Clinton has been tweeting about the border issue. Yet, the nature of Clinton's incandescent ego is that it cannot ever, even in moments of utter irrelevance, truly be restrained. Enter this telling Clinton tweet from Monday evening.



Germany: Migrant Who Murdered Teen Girl Bragged About Everything Being Free, No Need To Work

Asylum seeker fled country after choking & raping victim for hours

The Iraqi migrant who murdered a 14-year-girl in Germany before fleeing the country bragged about how life in Germany was easy, how he didn’t have to work and how he was given free money by the state.

The teenage girl, named as Susanna F. by the media, was raped and choked for hours by 20-year-old Ali Bashar.

Bashar evaded prosecution for the horrific crime by escaping from an asylum center and fleeing the country, but a deal was subsequently struck with the Iraqi government to return him to Germany to face charges.

According to Bashar’s relatives, he would often brag about how good he had it in Germany, not having to work, benefiting from generous welfare payments and receiving “a salary from the state”.

“They said that they are doing well in Germany,” said a cousin of Bashar from the Iraqi Kurdish region.

“Think of all that aid we give to some of these countries. Hundreds of millions of dollars we give to these countries, and they send them up,” the President said.

Delta Air Lines will soon ban pit bulls and "pit bull mixes" from flying in its cabins out of safety concerns under a new policy.

According to CBS News, the policy goes into effect July 10.

"These updates, which come as the peak summer travel season is underway, are the direct result of growing safety concerns following recent incidents in which several employees were bitten," Delta announced.

There have been multiple incidents of service dogs biting passengers in cabins and airline employees at airports in recent years. A high-profile incident in Atlanta in June 2017 resulted in a passenger requiring 28 stitches in his face after a support dog viciously attacked him while sitting in its owner's lap.


Activist Who Harassed Homeland Security Secretary Works For The Department Of Justice

One of the activists who chased Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen out of a Mexican restaurant Tuesday night over the Trump administration’s immigration policies is an employee of the Department of Justice, The Daily Caller News Foundation has confirmed.

Members of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America crashed Nielsen’s meal with a demonstration full of chants and other outbursts.

One of those participants, Allison Hrabar, actually works for the Trump administration — as a paralegal in the DOJ.

The Washington Examiner spoke with Hrabar Wednesday and she defended her behavior as off government time and a use of her First Amendment rights.

Despite Hrabar’s claims of keeping her personal politics outside of her time as an employee of the federal government, a look at her Twitter account, @allisongeroi, features tweets during the workday openly celebrating her behavior Tuesday night.

Spain: Students Forced Out of Their Homes to Make Way For Migrants

Citizens given 24 hours to leave “because (the migrants) come with many illnesses”

Students in Spain have been forced to leave their homes despite having paid their accommodation fees to make way for migrants who just arrived on the Aquarius rescue ship in Valencia.

The ship docked in Valencia on Sunday, carrying 630 migrants who were promised free healthcare and possible asylum by Spain’s socialist government. The boat was previously turned away by Italy after the country’s new anti-mass migration interior minister Matteo Salvini denied it access.

Online daily Actualidad Valdepeñas reports that shortly after some of the migrants arrived in Alicante, numerous students living in a local student residence were told to pack their bags and leave within 24 hours, despite having agreed contracts on and paid for their accommodation.

A German language student named Rubén was told to leave despite having paid €750 a month for his room.


Most Americans say Trump meeting with Kim was a success, says poll

President Trump on Thursday hailed the success of improved U.S. relations with North Korea, and a new poll showed that a majority of Americans agree with him.

The poll by Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found 55 percent of Americans approve ofMr. Trump’s diplomacy with North Korea, up from 42 percent in March and scoring his highest rating yet on any individual issue in the poll.

The polling data bucks widespread criticism in the U.S. of the lack of details in the accord Mr. Trump reached withNorth Korea leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore last week, as well as growing impatience for tangible evidence that Pyongyang plans to dismantle its nuclear arsenal.

At a Cabinet meeting Thursday, Mr. Trump vouched for quick progress being made on the denuclearization deal and predicted “tremendous success.”

“We’ve had some very good news even over the last couple of days. They want to get it done, we want to get it done, and we are moving quickly,” Mr. Trump said at a Cabinet meeting.

The White House declined to specify what he meant or even describe the nature of the “very good news.”


Melania Trump makes surprise visit to Texas shelter, seeks to ‘quickly’ reunite families

First lady Melania Trump made a surprise visit Thursday to a shelter for illegal immigrant children in Texas amid the furor over President Trump’s rescinded family separation policy, expressing her desire to see the children reunited with their parents “as quickly as possible.”

Mrs. Trump traveled to the facility in McAllen, Texas, to thank law enforcement officials and social service providers for their work during the burgeoning crisis and to put a compassionate face on a political dilemma for her husband’s administration.

“They are scared without their families,” Mrs. Trump said of the migrant children. “I want to thank you for your hard work, your compassion and your kindness you’re giving them in this difficult time. I’d also like to ask you how I can help to — these children, to reunite with their families, as quickly as possible.”

While she was visiting, the Justice Department asked a federal judge to rewrite the court agreement that Republicans say created the catch-and-release policy leading to the family separation crisis at the border.


Nonstick Chemicals Can Really Stick Around – in Your Body

For decades, American consumers have been buying water-resistant packaging and clothing, stain-resistant carpets and Teflon cookware. Now there is growing alarm that the chemical components that give those products their appeal are ending up in the water supply.

Drinking water in 33 states from New Jersey to California has been tainted by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, more commonly referred to as PFAS. Now they are also showing up in human blood: A 2015 study found PFAS in 97 percent of blood samples tested.

A newly released draft of a report by the Environmental Protection Agency says the substances that have made their way into drinking water are more dangerous to human health than previously thought. Its release was delayed for months after a Trump administration aide said it would create a “public relations nightmare.”

The substances are uncommonly difficult to break down. PFAS, of course, are water-resistant, but they are also used in firefighting foam and cookware for their ability to stand up against high temperatures.

Flynn Evidence May Have Been Tampered With By FBI: GOP Lawmaker

Rep Mark Meadows (R-NC) suggested on a Thursday interview with The Hill that evidence in the Mike Flynn case may have been tampered with - something long hinted at by insiders close to the Congressional investigations.

Meadows, the leader of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and a close ally of President Trump's, said he and other lawmakers are finding evidence of possible tampering, an allegation he previously made at a House hearing where Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz testified. -The Hill

"Justice should be meted out evenly, and yet we’re finding that evidence could have been tampered with," Meadows said.

In particular, Meadows pointed to the "302" reports - which are summaries of FBI interviews with suspects or witnesses.

"I brought this up with the inspector general the other day. Some of those key witness will be asked to appear before House Oversight," he added.

The question about the FBI interview reports, he said, was "were they changed to change the outcome of prosecution decisions. I think they might have."

Hispanic Americans Support Trump Order Detaining Border Crossing Families Together

Almost half of Hispanic Americans say they support a plan now being implemented by President Trump’s executive order that keeps border crossing families in detention together while being prosecuted.

A June poll by the Economist and YouGov reveals that nearly five in ten Hispanic Americans, or 48 percent, said they support a plan at the border whereby the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detains “families together in family detention centers until an immigration hearing at a later date.”

Meanwhile, the Democrats’ and Republican establishment’s plan to essentially end all border enforcement by releasing border crossing adults and the children they traveled with into the interior of the U.S. receives little support from Hispanic Americans.

Only 20 percent of Hispanic Americans in the Economist/YouGov poll said they support a plan that releases “the families and have them report back for an immigration hearing at a later date,” a program synonymous with the “Catch and Release” initiative, whereby illegal aliens are released into the country while they await their immigration hearings.


Malcolm Jenkins: NFL Introduced New Anthem Policy ‘Out of Fear’ — ‘It Really Backfired’

Thursday on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Philadelphia Eagles safety and activist Malcolm Jenkins discussed the NFL’s new National Anthem policy that requires players to either stand on the field or remain in the locker room.

According to Jenkins, the new policy was like a slap in the face.

“It kinda undermines everything you thought you were working for,” Jenkins told co-host Michelle Beadle. “It thwarts that right to speak your mind and really fight for your communities … especially because we felt like they understood where we were coming from. We grabbed the league’s hand and showed them exactly the issues that we’ve been fighting for — that it was about creating a fair justice system, that is about ending mass incarceration, re-reconciling our relationships with law enforcement. They have seen the work we have done for two years first-hand. And so, I think out of fear and to balance, you know, I guess both sides and play the middle, they put in this policy. And I think, like I said, it really backfired.”


Trump’s ‘Zero Tolerance Policy’ Deterring Foreign Nationals from Entering U.S. Illegally

President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy at the United States-Mexico border, where all border crossers are criminally prosecuted, is deterring foreign nationals from entering the country illegally.

A new report by BuzzFeed News revealed how foreign nationals are now having second thoughts before traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border and crossing illegally with their children thanks to Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The policy to prosecute all illegal border crossers, including illegal alien adults who cross the border with children, results in border-crossing parents having their children taken into federal custody. This is a loophole known as the Flores Settlement Agreement. On Wednesday, Trump signed an executive order that challenges Flores and will keep adult border crossers and their children in detention together until they are deported.

Already, though, BuzzFeed reports that foreign nationals are staying put in Mexico and Central America for fear that they will be prosecuted once crossing the southern border:

Pentagon Investigating Chinese Research Partnerships With U.S. Universities

The Defense Department is investigating research partnerships between Chinese companies and American universities amid threats of spying and technology theft on behalf of Beijing’s government, a senior official said Thursday.

Michael Griffin, the undersecretary of defense for research and engineering, said the concern is particularly pressing at U.S. campuses that both have ties with Chinese firms and host sensitive Pentagon research.

"I am concerned that we are not yet as vigilant as we should be about making sure that [Pentagon] research doesn’t go to places that have those ties," Griffin testified before the House Armed Services Committee. "Certainly, universities have a very long, multi-decade history of collaboration with the national security community writ large on problems of national interest, it's one of our greatest strengths, but doing so in an environment that can be penetrated by adversaries is not wise and we are looking more closely to that."


Dem Senators Introduce Bill to End Disputed Voter Purges

Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., have introduced a bill aimed at stopping any state from being able to purge voters it deems inactive, The Hill is reporting.

The proposed legislation comes after the Supreme Court upheld the state of Ohio's practice of cleaning up its voting rolls by focusing on people who haven't cast ballots in a while.

In Ohio, people who fail to vote in a two-year period are targeted for eventual removal from registration rolls. The state asks those voters to confirm their eligibility. If they fail to respond, their names eventually come of the voter rolls.

The new bill amends the National Voter Registration Act and stipulates a state is not able to use someone's failure to vote or respond to a state notice as a reason to remove them from the rolls.

‘They don’t care about the children… All they do is obstruct’

President Donald Trump continued criticizing Democrats on Thursday for refusing to support any Republican-led immigration reform legislation.

“We need two to tango,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting, citing the Democratic filibuster in the Senate that was blocking any legislation from moving forward.

The president called for a new effort on immigration, inviting them to the White House to discuss more details with this problem the country has faced for 50 years.

“They don’t care about the children. They don’t care about the injury. They don’t care about the problems. All they do is obstruct,” Trump said about the current crisis at the border.

He ripped Democrats for refusing to participate in any deal on immigration.


SPLC Keeps Denying. Black-on-White Violence Keeps Happening

Think of the odds: every day, for years, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been cranking out studies, talking points, and direct mail (oh, sweet, sweet mail!) to show how black people are victims of relentless white racism, all the time, everywhere, and that explains everything.

Just a few days ago, the SPLC declared that black-on-white violence is the "biggest lie" because everyone knows the real problem is white-on-black violence.

But what crazy luck: The more the SPLC says black criminality is a myth, the more it just keeps happening. Isn't that what you would call a day at the races, where every winner went off at more than 100 to 1?

Maybe it's just the World's Greatest Coincidence.

Or maybe the SPLC's work is odder than a nine-bob note.

Charles Krauthammer, conservative commentator and Pulitzer Prize winner, dead at 68

Charles Krauthammer, a longtime Fox News contributor, Pulitzer Prize winner, Harvard-trained psychiatrist and best-selling author who came to be known as the dean of conservative commentators, died Thursday. He was 68.

His death had been expected after he wrote a heartbreaking letter to colleagues, friends and viewers on June 8 that said in part “I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months. I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but I’m afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me…

“Recent tests have revealed that the cancer has returned. There was no sign of it as recently as a month ago, which means it is aggressive and spreading rapidly. My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live. This is the final verdict. My fight is over.” The letter continued, “I leave this life with no regrets. It was a wonderful life -- full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living.”

In recent years, Krauthammer was best known for his nightly appearance as a panelist on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier” and as a commentator on various Fox news shows.

Two of those — FBI lawyer Lisa Page and her paramour, agent Peter Strzok — became known when their vehemently anti-Trump text messages came to light. But the inspector general’s report identifies a third person, labeled “FBI Attorney 2,” who also fired off messages denigrating Mr. Trump and saying, “Viva le resistance.”

None of the three is still on the special counsel’s team. Ms. Page left weeks after the investigation opened, and Mr. Strzok departed after a couple of months when his anti-Trump messages came to light. Attorney 2, identified by Rep. Mark Meadows this week as Kevin Clinesmith, was ousted from the investigation in February after the inspector general found his messages.

Mr. Clinesmith also sent co-workers political jokes about Mr. Trump, including one instant message after the election saying, “I am so stressed about what I could have done differently.”

According to the report, Mr. Clinesmith worked on the 2016 probe into Hillary Clinton’s email use, then worked on the FBI’s original investigation into the Trump campaign and, eventually, with the special counsel’s investigation into Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign.

DC has more psychopaths than any other place in country, study finds

Washington, D.C. has more psychopaths than any other location in the United States, a recent study by the Southern Methodist University found.

The university studied five personality traits they called the "big five" -- extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness and neuroticism.

"The presence of psychopaths in the District of Columbia is consistent with the conjecture that psychopaths are likely to be effective in the political sphere," Research Assistant Professor Ryan H. Murphy stated in the study.

Furthermore, the study found that Virginia ranked as number eleven and Maryland number twelve.

Less than a month after ABC canceled the hit revival of “Roseanne,” the network has decided to go forward with a spinoff that will not include her. ABC said that Ms. Barr would not receive any payment from the network for the spinoff series, which is tentatively titled “The Conners.”

Appeals court calls DC sniper's life sentences illegal

(Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Thursday said a sniper serving life in prison without parole over deadly shootings that traumatized the Washington, D.C. area in 2002 must be resentenced in Virginia because he was only 17 at the time of his crimes.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied an appeal by prosecutors who said Lee Boyd Malvo need not be resentenced over his role in the D.C. sniper case, which left 10 people dead over three weeks in Washington, Maryland and Virginia.

It cited recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions that mandatory life sentences without parole for juveniles were unconstitutional, and that this rule applied retroactively.

"We make this ruling not with any satisfaction, but to sustain the law," Circuit Judge Paul Niemeyer wrote for a three-judge panel of the Richmond, Virginia-based appeals court. "As for Malvo, who knows but God how he will bear the future."

Governor Larry Hogan Announces $18.6 Million for Kirwan Commission Recommendations, Education Initiatives

Includes Career and Technical Education Grants, Before and After School Programs, Teacher Scholarships; Also Provides School Safety Funding

Governor Larry Hogan today announced $18.6 million in new education funding to go toward a series of initiatives, including recommendations from Maryland’s Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education, known as the Kirwan Commission. While the Commission will present its final findings and recommendations at the end of 2018, this funding reflects preliminary recommendations made earlier this year.

“Every child in Maryland deserves access to a world-class education, regardless of what neighborhood they happen to grow up in,” said Governor Hogan. “That’s why our administration has provided record funding for K-12 education for four years in a row and has been committed to innovative and outside-the-box education strategies, such as P-TECH and our ACCESS Initiative. These new investments are yet another way we are giving our students even more opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.”

The new funding for Kirwan Commission initiatives includes:
$2.5 million for an early literacy program to provide additional reading support to eligible students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

$2 million for the Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship, a program that will cover 100 percent of the annual cost of tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Maryland, College Park, or 50 percent of the cost of tuition and mandatory fees at a private nonprofit institution of higher education for eligible students who commit to becoming teachers.

$250,000 to encourage the top 25 percent of high school graduates from each county to consider becoming teachers by increasing awareness of available financial aid programs for teaching candidates.

$2 million to promote high-quality, innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) through competitive grants for local boards of education to partner with community colleges, businesses, and industry to develop and implement an innovative CTE curriculum framework that will align with the skills that local employers need.
$120,000 for a study to assess the adequacy of funding for special education in Maryland, to be completed by September 2019.

The governor also provided $4.5 million for the Learning in Extended Academic Program (LEAP), which is an academic program offered before the school day, after the school day, or in summer for a school with a high concentration of students in kindergarten through eighth living in poverty and at risk of falling behind academic requirements, along with $500,000 for the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of new teachers.

An additional $4.9 million will be used by the Interagency Commission On School Construction (IAC) to conduct a statewide facilities assessment.

Aggressive Dog Fatally Wounded By Trooper In Calvert County

(HUNTINGTOWN, MD) – A large dog that had reportedly attacked a woman outside of her home was fatally wounded by responding police after it charged a trooper this morning in Calvert County.

The victim is identified as Jenna Rae Sutphin, 28, of the unit block of Cherry Hill Road in Huntingtown, Maryland. She was transported from the scene to Calvert Memorial Health Center by ambulance and later transferred by air to Washington Medstar Hospital Center where she is currently undergoing medical treatment for injuries sustained in the incident.

At about 7:15 a.m. this morning, a trooper from the Prince Frederick Barrack responded to the unit-block of Cherry Hill Road and Route 4 in Huntingtown, Maryland, after receiving an animal complaint from motorists passing by the area. Upon his arrival to the scene, the trooper found the dog actively engaged in the attack in an overgrown area near the highway, adjacent to the front yard of the victim’s home.

As the trooper approached the scene, the dog aggressively began moving towards the trooper. In fear for his safety, the trooper fired his State Police issued .40 caliber pistol, wounding the dog. Subsequently, the dog ran from the scene.

The trooper immediately began rendering aid to the victim until EMS personnel arrived. Sheriff deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.

The dog, later identified as a Dogo, was located a short distance away from the scene. In an attempt to apprehend the dog and prevent it from doing further harm to anyone, police on scene fired again, fatally wounding the animal. The preliminary investigation indicates the dog is owned by the victim’s fiancee.

Maryland State Police investigators responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. Calvert County Animal Control also responded to the scene. The investigation is continuing.
