Across America, local and state officials are pushing back very strongly against the Obama administration’s decree concerning transgender use of school bathrooms and locker rooms.
Pennsylvania lawmakers are the latest to criticize the Obama proclamation, which orders that schools “may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so.”
Nearly 100 legislators in the state expressed their outrage in a letter to the president asking him to rescind the order immediately.
The Pennsylvania letter became widely disseminated on Wednesday. At roughly the same time, officials in Mississippi indicated that the Magnolia State will not follow the guidance issued by the Obama administration.

PUNK Muslim Threatens To Behead U.S. Soldiers – BIG MISTAKE!
In December of 2015, Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz, 19, used 57 different Twitter accounts to threaten civilians and politicians, including promising to behead President Barack Obama. The Muslim punk made a fatal error when he threatened US military service members. He posted personal, detailed information of around 100 military men and women. That just wasn’t going to get a pass. He told his followers to hunt these people down and behead them. This kid was arrested at his parents’ home and was only charged with 2 counts of attempting to provide material support to terrorists. This week, this moron was charged with additional terrorism charges for going after our military. Pledging his fealty to ISIS didn’t help his case either. Just sayin’.
Reuters reports that the Muslim teen was officially hit with fresh terrorism charges on Wednesday in a federal court in Harrisburg, after the prosecution produced the evidence needed to indict him for releasing the names, home addresses, photographs, and military rankings of American soldiers.
Aziz told his followers to “kill them in their own lands, behead them in their own homes, stab them to death as they walk their street thinking that they are safe,” according to authorities. “Pennsylvania have very light gun laws its very easy to arm yourself,” he wrote on Twitter.
On top of calling upon Muslim Twitter users to slaughter military members, Aziz also pledged online to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. In a pathetic attempt to gain the terrorist group’s attention, he promised to behead the American president, according to theDaily Mail.
On January 29, using his @Colonel_Shami alias he allegedly tweeted, “#IS Know O Obama, that we are coming to America and know that we will sever your head in the White House.”

OUTRAGE After Teacher Asks ‘Wholly Inappropriate’ Question About Donald Trump On Exam
One of the most important things a Republican president could do is to dismantle the federal Department of Education. Public schools serve as little more than indoctrination centers. To emphasize this point, please see the below example where a teacher offered kids an exam that required them to declare that we’re “screwed” if Donald Trump gains the presidency.
From TheBlaze:
A Florida public high school teacher was suspended for asking students a controversial question about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on a test.
Malik Leigh, who teachers at Palm Beach Lakes High School Law Academy, penned the following question to students on their final exam, the Palm Beach Post reported.
If Donald Trump becomes president of the United states, we are:
Screwed
Screwed
Screwed
Screwed behind a really YUGE wall that Mexico pays for.
Principal Cheryl McKeever called the question “wholly inappropriate” for the class.
“Specifically, the exam materials contain inaccurate content, irrelevant material, unprofessional use of language, inappropriate use of language and contain content outside of and not consistent with the curriculum for the Law Academy,” McKeever added.
Leigh, however, defended asking the question, telling the Palm Beach Post, “To me, it was a funny question.”
“I’m not pushing a political agenda,” Leigh said. “I don’t see why that would be offensive. They all tie into the classroom discussion.”

200 Stranded Marines Needed A Plane Ride Home, Here’s How Donald Trump Responded
When Corporal Ryan Stickney and 200 of his fellow Marines prepared to return to their families after Operation Desert Storm in 1991, a logistics error forced them to turn to a surprising source for a ride home: Donald J. Trump.
Today, Stickney would like to say "thank you."
Stickney (left), was a squad leader in a TOW company of a Marine reserve unit based in Miami, FL and spent approximately six months in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War between 1990 and 1991.
Upon his unit’s return to the United States, the former Marine says the group spent several weeks decompressing at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina before heading back to Miami.
Stickney recalls being told that a mistake had been made within the logistics unit and that an aircraft wasn’t available to take the Marines home on their scheduled departure date.
This—according to Stickney—is where Donald Trump comes in.
"The way the story was told to us was that Mr. Trump found out about it and sent the airline down to take care of us. And that’s all we knew….I remember asking 'Who is Donald Trump?' I truly didn't know anything about him," the former Marine said.

Obama Discusses His Overtime Rule In Weekly Address, Shows He Doesn’t Understand Economy
We’ve already seen the news that Team Obama plans on changing OT rules for salaried private sector employees, utterly failing to understand that things do not stay the same in response to government regulations. Today, O speaks on this
(White House) Things like the 40-hour workweek and overtime are two of the most basic pillars of a middle class life. But for all the changes we’ve seen in our economy, our overtime rules have only been updated once since the 1970s. Just once. In fact, forty years ago, more than 60 percent of workers were eligible for overtime based on their salaries. But today, that number is down to seven percent. Only seven percent of full-time salaried workers are eligible for overtime based on their income. (he mixed in two different metrics)
That’s why this week, my Administration took a step to help more workers get the overtime pay they’ve earned. The Department of Labor finalized a rule to extend overtime protections to 4.2 million more Americans. It’s a move that will boost wages for working Americans by $12 billion over the next 10 years. We’re more than doubling the overtime salary threshold. And what that means is, most salaried workers who earn less than about $47,500 a year will qualify for overtime. Or, their employers can choose to give them a raise so that they earn more than $47,500. Or, if employers don’t want to raise wages, they can let them go home after 40 hours and see their families or train for new jobs. Any way you slice it, it’s a win for working families. And we’re making sure that every three years, there will be an automatic update to this threshold – so that working families won’t fall through the cracks for decades at a time ever again.
This is the single biggest step I can take through executive action to raise wages for the American people. It means that millions of hardworking Americans like Elizabeth will either get paid for working more than 40 hours, or they’ll get more time with their families. Either way, they win. The middle class wins. And America wins.
Except, things won’t work out the way this guy, who has never had to actually run a business, thinks, as Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants and a member of the Job Creators Network, tells us

Community Leaders React To Edward Nero’s Not Guilty Verdict
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Many community leaders are reacting to the fact that Edward Nero was found not guilty of all counts. They say the trial is the justice the city asked for.
As Officer Edward Nero learned his fate, local leaders called for acceptance of the not guilty verdict.
“This is what justice looks like,” said Congressman Elijah Cummings.
Cummings—a prominent figure during last April’s unrest—says the case was tried in Baltimore City and decided by a Baltimore judge. He believes the decision is fair.
“A lot of people may not like the decision but in the justice system like ours, you cannot guarantee result,” Cummings said.
The sentiment is echoed by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who says in part, “This is our American system of justice and police officers must be afforded the same justice system as every other citizen in this city, state and country.”

California High School Diploma Mistake Proves Our Public Schools DESPERATELY Need Help
So stunningly dumb. In California, a high school actually handed out diplomas with the word ‘school’ spelled wrong on them. Of course, the school blamed the company who printed the diplomas. But tell me this, why didn’t anyone catch it before the ceremony? Didn’t anyone check the order? It should have been caught by the printer… but it should have also been caught by the school. Words come to mind like sloppy, unprofessional, lazy, clueless and uncaring.
From The Daily Caller:
Officials at a high school amid the endless sprawl of Southern California actually managed to give out diplomas to this year’s crops of graduating seniors with the word “school” misspelled on the covers.
On Thursday evening, about 550 newly-minted graduates of Ontario High School in Ontario, Calif. received diplomas with fancy, leather-like covers proudly bearing the words “Ontario High Shcool” — with the letters ‘c’ and ‘h’ switched around.
School officials blamed the company that printed the diplomas for the embarrassing glitch, reports NBC Los Angeles.
“The principal has informed all Ontario graduates that the company has been contacted and will mail a corrected diploma cover to each graduate along with an apology letter,” school district superintendent Mathew Holton said in a statement obtained by the station. This happens at other schools as well, but again, you have to look at who is in charge and who didn’t follow up. Graduation to these kids is an epic event and it is beyond embarrassing to misspell or misrepresent something on a diploma.

From One Of The Stephen Decatur Students
Hello everyone, I know there are lots of worried people out there. I personally am doing fine, however I do have a punctured liver, a few broken bones in various places, and some bruises and scrapes. I just want to thank you all for the love, support and prayers. I am so blessed to have such a great flow of support. And as far as news about my boyfriend, I'm not sure about any recent news. From what I hear he's very tired as well as I am, but we are both going to be okay.
Professor Offers Extra Credit To Students Who Support This SOCIALIST Idea
That’s what we need… Marxist political activists who are teaching our children and offering them extra credit if they will follow their radical leanings. This guy should be terminated, tenure or not. No way would I pay for my kids to attend this university. The man has no scruples whatsoever. Professor Frank Barajas of California State University is a proponent of free tuition. So, for extra credit, he told his students to write their state lawmakers advocating for it. I’m sure there’s no extra credit for the conservative stance against this viewpoint. Barajas offers the “extra credit” in his “HIST 271 – The United States Since 1877” class. Obviously, he doesn’t know American history at all and should not be teaching that course.
From The Federalist Papers Project:
A professor in California is giving his students extra credit if they parrot his leftist propaganda.
California State University, Channel Islands professor Frank Barajas believes in “free college tuition.” But he’s just one man.
If he’s going to get what he wants, he needs an army of soldiers fighting for his cause.
Luckily, he has no scruples whatsoever and will get his students to fight his battles for him!
Prof. Barajas is giving his students extra credit if they write a letter to their state lawmakers advocating his “free college tuition” position,” Campus Reform is reporting.
“In a 1 to 2-page business letter, write your assembly member and/or state senator as to how the high fees and tuition of the California State University impacts you, and your family, not only financially but also psychologically and in other ways,” description of the assignment obtained by Campus Reform instructs.
“Also include why you believe free tuition would better impact your education.”

Media in agony as Trump makes it relive Bill Clinton's sex scandals
The press is balking at the idea of revisiting Bill Clinton's sex scandals, and many in media are warning presumed GOP nominee Donald Trump and his supporters against even mentioning the issue.
Trump escalated things in a Fox News interview this week when he used the word "rape" in reference to a charge brought against the former president by a woman named Juanita Broaddrick.
Broaddrick maintains she was sexually assaulted by Clinton in 1978.
"In one case, it's about exposure," cable news host Sean Hannity said of the many charges brought against Clinton. "In another case, it's about groping and fondling and touching against a woman's will."

2 charged in largest indoor marijuana grow in Howard County
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Police have charged two people with running the largest indoor marijuana-grow operation ever discovered in Howard County.
Casey Ann Fowler and Daniel Earl Sims, both 48, were charged with multiple marijuana counts, including manufacturing, production and distribution of the drug, as well as firearms charges, after detectives found large quantities of marijuana being grown and packaged in a sophisticated operation inside the house.
"What we've discovered is the largest-ever indoor marijuana-growing operation in Howard County," police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said.
Investigators are checking for documents to determine whether Sims rented the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath, white brick house on Triadelphia Road in the Glenelg community. The property sold at auction in early April, according to HomeSearch.com.
"We're still looking into rental records and how long the residents have been living there or staying there. Clearly, it had been going on for some time, because the plants were in various stages of maturity," Llewellyn said.

NRA-ILA Official Pledges Fight on National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity
LOUISVILLE — Chris Cox, who heads up the National Rifle Association’s lobbying arm, said on Saturday that getting federal right-to-carry reciprocity legislation signed into law is a top priority and pledged to fight until it happens.
“Thanks to you, right-to-carry has been expanded across the country,” Mr. Cox said the NRA’s annual meeting of members at its convention in Louisville. “We now have some form of right-to-carry in all 50 states, so thank you.”
“But there’s more to do,” he said. “We need a Congress to pass national right-to-carry reciprocity and a president to sign it into law, and we’re not going to stop until we get it.”
Mr. Cox had mentioned Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke, who a day earlier called for like-minded folks to come together and demand that Congress make it happen.
“We need to band together with the NRA and every gun-supporting lobby in America and pressure this GOP-controlled Congress to make it priority legislation to pass federal concealed carry license reciprocity in the United States of America,” Mr. Clarke said at the NRA Institute for Legislative Action Leadership Forum on Friday.

Soros, Top Clinton Lawyer Lose Lawsuit Against Virginia’s Voter ID Law
Millions have gone into the effort to attack voter identification laws in numerous states
Hillary Clinton’s top campaign lawyer lost a challenge against Virginia’s voter identification laws that was fueled by money from liberal billionaire George Soros.
The lawsuit, filed early last year on behalf of the Democratic Party of Virginia, sought to end Virginia’s voter identification law, known as SB 1256. The lawsuit was dismissed by a federal court Thursday after a lengthy trial that saw numerous witnesses testify, dealing a blow to an organized effort by the left to take on voter ID laws in numerous states leading up to the 2016 election.
The plaintiffs challenged the constitutionality of the law throughout the case by alleging it violates Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and said that it has an adverse impact on minority groups.
They also argued that the law violates the First Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment by putting an undue burden on the right to vote of minorities and disfavored the groups because of their political views. The plaintiffs contended that the law was specifically put into place to suppress the votes of African-Americans, Latinos, and young people.
The federal court dismissed the lawsuit on all counts.

We ladies can police ourselves, thank you very much
A letter to all women,
Do you ever wonder “Why am I sticking to my toilet seat?” If you are a mother of boys, such thoughts might, indeed, have crossed your mind. No matter how stringent your domestic rules; no matter how appealing or threatening the Post-It notes; no matter how despairing and hysterical the reprimands, there’s something seemingly unavoidable about males and bathroom usage. There’s much fuss now about laws allowing men who want to be women and women who used to be men into the ladies’ room. But ladies, let’s get real. Do we really need such a law?
The least we can expect from a male on his way to womanhood is to shape up and give in to the basics of our fairer sex. We smell better, we look better, we are more discrete, and we know how to keep secrets. It’s the unwritten law of femininity and anyone who wants to be one of us better get with the program. Why should any law regulate who uses which bathroom? Who, after all, would even be able to enforce any new “bathroom laws” to make sure only men who REALLY want to be women use the ladies’ room? Checking birth certificates at the door? Anyway, the whole concept seems confusing.

Pakistani with Fake Ecuadorean Passport Enters U.S. via Mexico Multiple Times
A Pakistani man with a fake passport and residence card from two different South American countries has been caught entering the U.S. illegally through Mexico and federal court documents reveal he has previously crossed into the country undetected by immigration authorities. The distressing case comes less than a month after Judicial Watch reported that an ISIS operative who trained terrorists in Pakistan travels back and forth through the porous southern border from a camp in the Mexican state of Chihuahua not far from El Paso, Texas. His name is Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, a Kuwaiti who trained hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen, according to JW’s high-ranking Homeland Security sources.
The Pakistani apprehended in the region this month, Javaid Muhammad, is in federal custody in Texas and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20 in McAllen. U.S. Border Patrol agents busted him on May 8, according to court documents obtained by JW, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken over the case. Authorities have confiscated Muhammad’s fraudulent Ecuadorean passport and Chilean residence card and he has admitted he’s never visited or resided in either South American country. Muhammad also “admitted to illegally crossing the international boundary of the United States without prior inspection by a United States Immigration Officer,” court files state. The FBI has evidence, including travel records and other government files, that proves Muhammad’s statements to the Border Patrol and FBI “were materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent,” the court documents say.

Oklahoma Lawmakers Urge Obama Impeachment Over Bathroom Directive
A group of Republican Oklahoma lawmakers introduced a resolution Thursday urging the state’s congressional delegation to start an effort to impeach President Obama over the White House’s directive to allow transgender students to use the bathroom of their gender identity.
The Obama administration issued the recommendation to all public schools last week that transgender students must be allowed to use the bathroom of their choosing. The directive has caused fury among lawmakers across the nation.
Reuters reported the bill introduced in Oklahoma calls on the state’s members of the House of Representatives to file articles of impeachment against Obama, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Secretary of Education John B. King and several others.
Lawmakers on Friday also introduced a separate measure that would allow students to use religious grounds to have separate but equal bathrooms to segregate them from transgender students.
According to The Oklahoman, a state Senate committee approved a measure to grant religious accommodations for students who object to the transgender bathroom order. The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.

Subject: Trump Tells NRA Hillary Clinton’s Guards Should Disarm if She Doesn’t Like Guns
Donald Trump went on the battle path against Hillary Clinton in his address Friday to the National Rifle Association (NRA) as the nation’s most prominent gun group formally endorsed Trump.
The presumptive Republican nominee challenged the Clintons to disarm their security guards if they want to abolish the Second Amendment. Trump laid out a plan to abolish gun-free zones and repeal President Obama’s executive orders. Trump also called for Hillary Clinton to release her own short list of Supreme Court justice picks.
“To get the endorsement, believe me, is a fantastic honor,” Trump promised the NRA crowd in Louisville, Kentucky, which greeted the Republican champion with frequent waves of ecstatic cheers. “I will not let you down.”
“Hillary said the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment. That’s bad,” Trump said. “Heartless hypocrites like the Clintons…let their bodyguards immediately disarm” if they want to feel what it’s like for unarmed civilians in this country.
“They should immediately disarm.”

240K Maryland residents missing out on insurance help
BALTIMORE (AP) — It’s an unusual problem: The more people in rural areas Mark Romaninsky and his team help sign up for health insurance, the more difficult it becomes to find people who still need to enroll.
“It gets harder and harder every day,” he told The Daily Record. “How do you find those pockets of people?”
As program director for Seedco, a nonprofit that serves as one of several “connectors” for Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, Romaninsky and his team of “navigators” focus on the upper and middle Eastern Shore, reaching out to churches, small businesses, local workforce investment boards, “anywhere we can spread the word,” he said.
While progress has been made to reduce the number of uninsured Marylanders in the past three years, Seedco’s territory is where there’s still a lot of work to do.
About 405,000 Marylanders were eligible for private insurance and some form of financial help — such as tax credits or cost-sharing — when the exchange was launched in 2013; that number has now dropped 40 percent to about 240,000, officials announced May 16.

Megyn Kelly’s Primetime Flop Wipes Out Leverage in Fox Contract Negotiations
Megyn Kelly’s much-publicized broadcast special with Donald Trump was supposed to launch the Fox News star into the stratosphere of television anchordom. Instead, the widely panned show seems to have achieved the opposite result: It exposed the extent of her limited mainstream appeal.
Kelly drew just 4.8 million viewers on Tuesday night, a number television executives say is a disappointment by any measure. Three senior executives I spoke with say an audience of 9 million would have been a success.
“Not good for her at all,” was how one insider put it.

U.Md. investigating police use of force after pepper spray incident
WASHINGTON — University of Maryland officials have launched a formal investigation into whether police use of force was appropriate after university officers used pepper spray to disperse a party in College Park early Saturday.
At around 1:45 a.m. police responded to the call for a loud party and a report of a fight in one of the apartments in the 8500 block of Boteler Lane, university officials said in an emailed statement.
University officials said a decision was made to shut down the party after police officers were told that someone may have had a bat. Additional officers were called to assist the group.
At some point, pepper spray was used to disperse the crowd in the hallway. Pepper spray was used a second time in the parking lot.

With Two Words, Hillary May Have Handed Trump the Election
Hillary’s plan to sew up the Democrat nomination as soon as possible may end up putting Donald Trump on the fast track to the presidency.
The Washington Times reports:
Democrats, skittish over pushing gun control since Al Gore’s bid for the White House fell short in 2000, are once again flirting with the issue, preparing to pick perhaps the most anti-gun presidential nominee in a generation.
Hillary Clinton’s provocations will be on the minds of thousands of Second Amendment activists gathering in Louisville beginning Thursday as the National Rifle Association hosts its annual meetings, insisting Mrs. Clinton’s fierce gun control stance will once again hamstring Democrats in a national election...
...He said Mrs. Clinton is the first Democratic candidate since Mr. Gore in 2000 to really try to use the issue as a campaign wedge — attacking her remaining opponent for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Bernard Sanders, as too conservative after he voted to grant lawsuit immunity to the firearms industry last decade.
Gore lost that race when pro-gun Florida went to George W. Bush by just 600 votes.
The Times continues:
Erich Pratt, the executive director of Gun Owners of America, said Mrs. Clinton is out of touch with reality if she thinks she can change those numbers.
“She is crazy if she thinks that advocating Aussie-style gun confiscation is going to help her win in November,” Mr. Pratt said. “Hillary is in for a rude awakening

ANOTHER Obama Agency Caught Protecting Hillary
Crime doesn’t pay.
Unless you have the power of the White House behind you.
Barack Obama doesn’t want a Republican to win in 2016 and undo his insane power grabs.
So his cronies in the federal government are using any means necessary to stop Hillary Clinton from being held accountable for rampant criminal and unethical behavior.
The latest goon squad with federal ID badges? The usually-boring Federal Trade Commission.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
The agency, which is charged with ensuring consumer protection, rejected a request to investigate the nonprofit Clinton Foundation despite “serious and well-documented” concerns from lawmakers, said Matthew Whitaker, a former U.S. attorney who serves as executive director for the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), an ethics watchdog group.
The FTC penned a letter to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) this week rejecting a request from she and 21 members of Congress that the FTC review the nonprofit status of the Clinton Foundation after reports raised questions about the charity’s transparency and possible deception.
...“It’s shameful that a federal agency, which prides itself on exposing deceptive practices and advocating for a level playing field, has turned into a partisan defender of the Clintons and their family business interests,” Whitaker stated Friday.
“Last year, I expressed similar concerns when I asked the IRS to investigate the Clinton Foundation for making improper payments of nearly $350,000 to erase campaign debt from Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign,” he continued. “As a nonprofit organization, Clinton Foundation income cannot be used to benefit a private individual.”

Parents Find Horrific Injuries on 1-Year-Old Son — And They’re Stunned When They Learn Why Charges Are Being Dropped
An Oregon couple went out on a date back in March and left their 1-year-old son home with a babysitter.
They returned later that evening to find the child screaming as the sitter slept on the couch. When they awoke the next morning, they were horrified to discover bruises all over their son’s face and body.
Medical professionals and law enforcement later confirmed that the child had been abused. But even after the the babysitter confessed to hitting the baby, no arrests were made.
The boy’s father, Joshua Marbury, took to Facebook Friday to voice his frustrations over an Oregon court ruling he claims protected his son Jacob’s abuser. The post quickly went viral, gaining nearly 185,000 shares in two days.

The Left Called This Muslim Women a Hero
Who is Zakia Belkhiri? She's a Muslim woman who became the toast of the political left last year for a well timed stunt. As Stylist pointed out at the time:
Now, images of a Muslim woman standing up to Islamophobic protesters in Belgium have been doing the rounds online
Zakia Belkhiri, 22, was attending an Islamic lifestyle event in Antwerp when she saw the openly anti-Muslim group – Vlaams Belang – gathered outside, holding Islamophobic signs and images that read things like “no headscarves,” “no mosques,” and “stop Islam.”
The hijab-wearing woman took out her phone and started taking defiant selfies of herself in front of the 40-strong group, holding up her fingers in a peace sign. A photographer, Jurgen Augusteyns, saw what she was doing and captured her in a series of images.
Speaking to BBC Trending, Belkhiri says that she took the photos “to show that things can be different. And that we can live together, not next to each other but with each other.”
Belkhiri insists her actions were not a protest though, saying: “This wasn’t a protest at all, this was just to share joy and peace.”
The activist later said on Twitter that we are all human and that all religions deserve respect.
Cool, right? Well, that was then. This is now. How does Belkhiri feel these days? Er, different. As political comic Tim Young pointed at:

Verdict announced in Officer Edward Nero trial: NOT GUILTY
Officer trial raises questions about policing in Baltimore
Nero, 30, who opted for a bench trial over a jury trial, was one of the bike officers who were on patrol and were involved in the initial arrest of Freddie Gray on April 12, 2015.
Gray suffered a fatal neck injury at some point after being placed in a police transport van that day. Gray died on April 19, 2015 and anger over his death helped spark last year's riots.
Prosecutors argued during Nero's six-day trial that Nero, a former volunteer EMT and firefighter who has been with the Baltimore Police Department since 2012, committed a crime when he, along with Officer Garrett Miller and Lt. Brian Rice arrested and handcuffed Gray without probable cause after Gray ran unprovoked from police.
The state added that Nero committed reckless endangerment when he failed to seatbelt Gray in the transport van and that placed him in the position that led to his fatal injuries.
Nero's attorney Marc Zayon argued that the law allows for such a stop in high crime areas, Nero only touched Gray once and the police transport van driver, Officer Caesar Goodson, was ultimately responsible for placing a seat belt on Gray.

DEA: MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS ARE NOW OPERATING IN ALL 50 STATES
A rural patch of land filled with small towns and family farms tucked within the rolling hills of the Ozark Mountains, Douglas County seems an unlikely place to be at the center of America’s war on drugs.
But with the proliferation of cheap, high-potency methamphetamine flooding into the U.S. from super labs operated by Mexican cartels, local officials at this municipality in south-central Missouri say they’re seeing more dealers and users than ever before.
“We’ve always had a meth problem because we’re a rural county,” Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase told Fox News Latino. “But now we’re not seeing the ‘shake-and-bake’ cooks anymore, the stuff we’re getting now is about as pure as it can get.”
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 69 people in the last four months for methamphetamine use and distribution. In neighboring Webster County, prosecutors recently charged five people with the murder of a cartel capo sent to the region to collect a debt.

Trump's Biggest Endorsement Yet
The National Rifle Association endorsed Donald Trump for president at its convention today.
Chris Cox, the executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, made the endorsement immediately before Trump walked on stage.
"Now is the time to unite. If your preferred candidate dropped out of the race, it's time to get over it," Cox said earlier in his remarks.
The news of the endorsement came shortly before Trump addressed the group at their convention in Kentucky.

Virginia jails housing thousands living in U.S. illegally
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Authorities say that Virginia's state and regional jails have housed at least 19,882 immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that data collected by the State Compensation Board shows that between 2008 and 2015, jails housed at least 14,460 immigrants who were in the U.S. illegally. The board says there were another 5,422 offenders in jailers' custody who were scheduled for deportation.

An Awakening? Methodists Remove Church’s Backing of Roe v. Wade
Delegates to the United Methodist Church’s general conference on Friday voted “to repeal the denomination’s 40-year-old official resolution supporting Roe v. Wade,” Christianity Today reported Saturday morning.
“In our system, resolutions automatically expire after eight years unless a General Conference re-adopts them,” Christianity Today magazine quoted John Lomperis, the United Methodist staffer at the Institute on Religion and Democracy.
“The New York national headquarters submitted a petition to this General Conference to not only re-adopt this resolution, but also to amend it to make it even more strongly supportive of abortion,” Mr. Lomperis noted of the 310 to 455 vote on reauthorization.
The move comes a day after delegates to the quadrennial church gathering voted to end their partnership with the pro-choice advocacy group the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC).
“Members of the United Methodist Church are less likely to support abortion than other mainline Protestants,” Christianity Today noted, citing polling data to that effect. The polling data show Methodists are more favorable to abortion than evangelical Christians broadly.

College Reverses Firing of Ex-Army General After Transgender Bathroom Comments
An all-male college in Virginia has reversed its decision to fire a prominent retired U.S. Army general hours after reports that he was removed over political correctness provoked outcry.
Hampden-Sydney College decided to offer Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin a one-year contract, walking back its decision to fire Boykin after he made controversial comments about transgender bathrooms that angered LGBT activists.
Fox News first reported Thursday that Boykin, an original member of the Delta Force who served as undersecretary of defense for intelligence under President George W. Bush, had been fired after nine years of teaching at the school after criticizing transgender bathrooms.
“The first man who goes into the restroom with my daughter will not have to worry about surgery,” Boykin said of the debate surrounding transgender bathroom rules during a speech to conservatives in March.
The comments angered LGBT activists, dozens of whom signed a letter demanding the college fire him. They accused him of calling for violence against transgenders, he said.
“I never said homosexuals. I never said transgenders,” he told Fox. “I was really talking about these perverts who would use this as a way to get into the bathrooms with our wives and daughters.”

These varsity uniforms will be phased in for varsity teams in all four high schools starting this fall.
Hispanic Conservatives: If Trump Changes His Tone We May Change Our Minds
Hispanic conservatives are saying they might support Donald Trump as the party's presidential nominee, but he'll have to change his tone on immigration.
"If, in the process of unification, he were to seek my support and show he's willing to change his tone and be open to some form of legislation, I would be willing to reconsider my position," Alfonso Aguilar who leads the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, told The Hill.
Aguilar's comments were far different than they were in October, when he declared Trump was "done with the Latino community, he's done with the Latino conservatives."
Aguilar, a former White House official under President George W. Bush, further told Fox then that if Trump became the nominee, Latinos would not work to support him, and that would cost him the White House.
But on Friday night, the camps for Trump and likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton presented videos for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, and Trump's film may have changed some minds.

Hillary Clinton Should Testify Under Oath
Judicial Watch Begins Discovery in Clinton Email Matter
Our investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email system entered a significant new phase this week.
We announced a schedule of depositions of her top aides, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, as well as top State Department official Patrick Kennedy, and former State IT employee Bryan Pagliano.
Their testimony is about the creation and operation of Clinton’s non-government email system. The first witness, Lewis A. Lukens, a deputy assistant secretary, was deposed on May 18. I can’t say much about the testimony at this point, other than to tell you that it was not helpful to either Mrs. Clinton or the Obama State Department.
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan set this historic evidence gathering in motion. Judge Sullivan granted us “discovery” into Clinton’s email system, noting that “based on information learned during discovery, the deposition of Mrs. Clinton may be necessary.”
The depositions are part of our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, former Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton. The lawsuit, which seeks records regarding the authorization for Abedin to engage in outside employment (the Clinton Foundation and other Clinton, Inc. entities) while employed by the Department of State, was reopened because of revelations about the clintonemail.com system (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-01363)).
We have permission from the court to question these individuals for as long as seven hours:

Target CEO: Climate Change, Not Bathroom Policy Hurting Sales
As retailer Target sees its stock plummeting and sales dropping in the midst of a boycott over its recently announced pro-transgender bathroom policy, the company’s CEO is insisting the weather is the cause of falling sales, not the company’s bathroom policy.
In a recent Wall Street Journal interview, Target CEO Brian Cornell pegged the downturn in the company’s fortunes to the cold weather as opposed to anything the company itself is doing or not doing.
“It’s been a very wet and cold start to the year and it’s reflected in our sales,” Cornell told the paper. “We haven’t seen anything from a structural standpoint that gives us pause.”
In other words, the weather is responsible for the downturn, not Target’s “structural” transgender bathroom policy.

Saudi Daily: ‘Satanic’ Bill Allowing Kingdom to be Sued For 9/11 Will ‘Open Gates Of Hell’ For U.S.
TEL AVIV – The Saudi press slammed the U.S. for its “despicable” double standard in regard to a proposed bill that would allow victims of the September 11 attacks to sue the kingdom, claiming that the move would “open the gates of hell,” enabling all countries that have been wronged by the U.S. to sue it for war crimes.
The popular Saudi daily Okaz ran a scathing article translated by MEMRI, entitled, “Congress’s Satanic Deed Opens the Gates of Hell for the World’s Largest Country,” accompanied by an image of President Obama with a Star of David and the emblem of the Iranian regime on his forehead.
Proclaiming that the bill proves that there “is no justice or morality in American politics,” the article accuses the U.S. of bypassing international law, which stipulates that countries are immune from legal proceedings in other states.
The U.S. Senate exhibited the most despicable kind of double standard, defied the [whole] world, and showed contempt for international law when it passed a bill allowing families of the September 11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia. This bill will change the international law regarding sovereign immunity, which has long been implemented. The Senate failed to understand that, by adopting this bill, it will open many doors for harming the U.S. [itself], because this bill will enable countries that have been harmed by the U.S. to sue it for war crimes.

First Verdict In Gray's Death Coming Today
The verdict is being handed down this morning in the trial of Officer Edward Nero, one of the six Baltimore City Police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray.
Nero was the second accused officers to go on trial, but since he chose to have the judge not a jury decide his case, he will be the first officer to get a verdict in his case.
The trial of the first officer, William Porter, ended in December with a hung jury.
Nero is one of the three officers who participated in Gray's arrest on April 12 of last year.
In this trial, Judge Barry Williams must consider if Freddie Gray’s arrest was legal, and if it is whether Nero’s physical contact with Gray amounts to assault and misconduct.

NYPD cop stripped of gun and badge after reckless rampage caught on camera
A cop was stripped of his gun and badge Friday after a shocking video of him pointing the weapon at bystanders during an arrest in Harlem was posted on Instagram.
The unidentified cop is seen on the footage wrestling Dayshawn Bettway, 21, to the ground inside a public housing building on St. Nicholas Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
A person standing near the scuffle was filming the arrest when the officer, grappling with the suspect on the ground, slowly pulls the firearm from his holster and aims it directly at the camera.
“Back up!” the officer screams as the camera suddenly jolts.
“Back! Up!” he demands again as the video cuts out.
Another clip shows the officer leaving the building, where he encounters Jahnico Harvey, 19, and clocks him in the head before wrestling him to the ground.
Cops said they did not immediately know what provoked the punch.

Ex-Subway Pitchman Jared Fogle's Sex Fantasies Don't Warrant Long Sentence: Lawyer
CHICAGO — The judge who sentenced former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle to more than 15 years in prison mistakenly believed he was involved in producing child pornography, and his sentence should therefore be reduced, Fogle's attorney said during a hearing Friday.
Fogle wants the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to shorten his sentence, arguing that the district judge abused her authority by sentencing him to a longer prison term than prosecutors suggested in his plea deal. Prosecutors say the judge acted within her discretion.

Hillary Clinton to blast Donald Trump's gun proposals at Florida gathering
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton is primed to attack Donald Trump's proposals on firearms as dangerous ideas for America's children just one day after the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee addressed the National Rifle Association's convention and earned the group's endorsement.
Clinton, who has positioned herself as a staunch advocate on gun control, will serve as a keynote speaker Saturday night at the third annual "Circle of Mothers" conference in Fort Lauderdale, hosted by the Trayvon Martin Foundation. Past attendees have included family members of victims from the Sandy Hook Elementary School and Aurora movie theater massacres, along with the close relatives of police shooting victims Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice.
A Clinton aide tells CBS News that at the gathering, which aims to empower mothers who have lost children to gun violence, the candidate will slam Trump's divisive rhetoric and contrast it to her own unifying message on justice and equality.
Clinton will emphasize how Trump's ideas to rid the country of gun-free zones, especially in America's schools, will make children less safe. She is set to focus on her own opposition to the NRA, the pro-gun lobby that gave their support to Trump Friday, and how she will not be silenced by the group.
Clinton's address comes just one day after the Republican nominee sharply criticized her policies at the NRA convention, claiming that Clinton would "abolish" the Second Amendment.
"Crooked Hillary Clinton is the most anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment candidate ever to run for office," Trump told an audience of NRA members Friday.

Florida Brewery Creates Edible Six-Pack Rings to Protect Marine Life
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (WJZ)—A brewery in Florida is taking an innovative approach to protecting wildlife with six pack rings that feed the animals.
Saltwater Brewery, who is based out of Delray Beach, Florida, says they have created tested and prototyped the first ever “Edible Six Pack Ring”.
The company says the rings are made with byproducts of the beer making process, that instead of killing animals, feeds them.
The brewery, who has partnered with WeBelievers, says the six pack ringers are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Harley-Davidson Rebrands Itself To Reach Millennial Generation
Iconic brand Harley-Davidson is stepping up marketing and introducing new designs in hopes of gaining younger riders and more women.
SCOTT SIMON, HOST:
Harley-Davidson leads the U.S. motorcycle market, but sales have slipped. Many Harley customers are, well, maybe what you might expect - aging, male baby boomers (imitating motorcycle). From Harley-Davidson's hometown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Public Radio's Chuck Quirmbach has this look at the company's efforts to reach a more diverse group of riders.
CHUCK QUIRMBACH, BYLINE: Harley-Davidson is taking some newer motorcycles to the millennial generation.
So what's the trick to start it? Do you pull the clutch?
ED MAKOWSKI: You hold it down...
QUIRMBACH: Thirty-five-year-old Ed Makowski prepared for a free test ride of a Roadster model that Harley brought to the streets of several cities this past week, including downtown Milwaukee.
When he came back, Makowski said he likes the sporty and powerful Roadster, but isn't ready to give up his 1976 BMW motorcycle.
MAKOWSKI: You know, the price is a big thing for me. I'm not in a new bike market. I'm a poet, you know? It would take a coup for me to be able to be shopping for a brand-new motorcycle.
QUIRMBACH: Harley-Davidson has priced the Roadster at about $11,000, well below the cost of Harley's bigger and more traditional motorcycles. Michael Spaeth is in charge of the company's outreach to millennials and women.

Transgender Choruses Harness The (Changing) Power Of Voices
The ongoing controversy in North Carolina over access to bathrooms has increased the general public's awareness of issues facing transgender people. One thing you might not think about is voice: How does that essential tool of communication change with gender transition? It's something that has deep emotional and psychological resonance. It's also something that's playing out in a growing number of transgender choruses across the country.
As a young child growing up in South Africa, Gillian Power sang in school and church choirs.
"It was one of the things I remember from that time as something that was just so deeply joyful," Power recalls. Now she is in her early 40s. She came out as transgender a couple of years ago.
"A person's sense of identity and who they are is so inextricably linked to their voice," Power says. "Voice is probably one of the deepest signifiers of who a person is."
Female hormones didn't change Power's voice. So she's taking voice lessons. As she works with her teacher, Power seems to find the confidence to really breathe, to release feelings, to express her true self — things she says felt incompatible with her body for so long.
Power lives in Kansas City with her wife and two young children. Last year on a business trip to Boston, she sat in on a rehearsal of that city's Butterfly Music Transgender Chorus.

Today's Tools For Combating Zika Mosquitoes Hark Back To 1945
"It's up to you," said a 1945 public service announced aimed at Americans. Find "one of man's worst enemies" and "destroy their foxholes."
The video came from the Office of Malaria Control in War Areas (now known as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). And it was talking about a particular species of mosquito, Aedes aegypti — the very same mosquito in the news now. Back then, public health officials were mostly worried about dengue and yellow fevers.
The video opens with the cartoon image of a man bludgeoning a giant mosquito, its tongue hanging out and white-and-black striped legs akimbo. Pamphlets showed people how to destroy breeding sites. Boy Scouts, "prepared and anxious to undertake their duties," went from house to house dumping out wagons, telling housewives to change the water in vases every few days, and turning empty cans and bottles upside down. They also emptied tires and punctured cans in trash piles, so that they couldn't refill with water.
Activities like that were part of an international anti-mosquito campaign that started in the early 1900s and actually worked. Cases of yellow fever dropped in urban areas, and a 1961 map proclaimed that much of the Americas — including Brazil and Colombia — had made a big dent in the mosquito populations. But shortly after, the mosquitoes made a comeback.
