The Alternative
Health Care: The Conservative Alternative in the House
(Op-Ed in Human Events, Sept. 8, 2009 by Congressman Tom Price, M.D.)
Perhaps the most blatant “disinformation” being promulgated in the health care debate this year is that there are only two choices for American health care: putting the federal government in charge or allowing insurance companies to run the show. While the President, congressional Democrats in charge, and, to a degree, the media have done all they can to shut out Republican ideas, the truth remains that there is a third path, a correct path.
Our solution, HR3400 is built upon the principle that when individuals are given control and ownership, we will achieve full access to coverage and see the entire system move in a positive, patient-centered direction. While we join in the national critique of the President’s misguided proposal, we also offer positive solutions for health care reform.
First, all people should have the financial wherewithal to purchase private, personal health plans. As cost is the biggest barrier to coverage, H.R. 3400 employs a hybrid tax structure to ensure that there is no financial reason for a person to go without coverage. Based on factors such as income and family size, the legislation offers tax credits and deductions, which are advanceable and on a sliding scale, so the less wealthy and those without employer-provided plans will be able to purchase coverage.
A true market for Americans to purchase this personal private coverage, however, does not currently exist. For patients to have real choices, we must create a functioning marketplace for all to gain coverage they select. To achieve this, under the Empowering Patients First Act, all Americans would be able to use pre-tax dollars to buy coverage on the open market, leveling the playing field with employer-provided care that already receives this benefit. And to provide Americans greater purchasing power, the legislation allows for robust pooling mechanisms so that people can come together freely to drive down prices. These pools will provide a place for those with pre-existing conditions to find coverage at an affordable price. And there is the opportunity to purchase health insurance across state lines, which is currently barred.
Finally, we cannot fully bring down costs without addressing the runaway medical liability crisis. From exorbitant malpractice insurance premiums to the remarkably expensive practice of defensive medicine, it is my experience that the current culture of litigation costs patients hundreds of billions of dollars. And these costs do nothing to provide better care, but rather serve only as a defense against unyielding personal injury lawyers. H.R. 3400 tackles this problem with the creation of new health courts that trust the expert opinions of medical professionals. When malpractice suits are brought through specialized courts and viewed through the perspective of medically appropriate care, rather than a lottery mentality, we will see a decline in frivolous lawsuits and the need for costly defensive medicine.
Endorsement
(The following is a recent letter sent to US Representatives by the organization's president, Thomas A. Schatz):
September 3, 2009
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Representative,
Following the uproar over healthcare reform during the August recess and preceding
President Obama’s address to Congress, this is an opportune time to consider how best to move forward on meaningful changes in the nation’s healthcare system. Members of the Republican Study Committee have recently offered H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act, as a viable alternative to H.R. 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. On behalf of the more than 1.2 million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support H.R. 3400.
H.R. 3400 would provide access to coverage for all Americans by extending an above-
the-line income tax deduction on healthcare premiums, granting refundable tax credits for low-income individuals to purchase health insurance, ensuring coverage of pre-existing conditions, protecting employer-sponsored insurance, and establishing health plan and provider portals in every state to supply greater healthcare information and transparency.
The Empowering Patients First Act will truly live up to its name, giving patients the power to own and control their own healthcare coverage through employer-sponsored plans, new pooling mechanisms, flexible benefits, and access to insurance across state lines.
Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) beneficiaries will be
given the option of a voucher to purchase private insurance. States will be required to cover 90 percent of those below 200 percent of the federal poverty level before they can expand eligibility levels under Medicaid and SCHIP.
The legislation will also improve the healthcare delivery structure through doctor-led quality measures, reimbursements to physicians to ensure continuity of care, and the promotion of healthier lifestyles with wellness and prevention programs.
Unlike H.R. 3200, which the Congressional Budget Office has estimated would cost
Americans $1.3 trillion, H.R. 3400 would rein in out-of-control costs by reforming the medical liability system and offsetting health plan costs through decreased defensive medicine, savings from healthcare efficiencies, and rooting out waste, fraud, abuse in the system. Finally, the bill would reduce non-defense discretionary spending by one percent annually.
H.R. 3400 offers real solutions for the American healthcare system, prioritizing patient access, choice and quality of care without ballooning our national debt. I strongly urge you to support this legislation. All votes on H.R. 3200 and H.R. 3400 will be among those considered in CCAGW’s 2009 Congressional Ratings.
What A Boat Load Of Sh!t
I encourage each and every one of you to carefully watch these videos. I'll be the very first to say, I DO NOT TRUST OR BELIEVE OUR GOVERNMENT. Bldg. 7 WTC went straight down 7 hours after the Twin Towers went down. If YOU believe this was terrorism, you're a nut.
Yeah, the building, (newer than the others surrounding the Trade Center Buildings) collapsed without any lean. Yet, some how, some way, none of the older and or surrounding buildings went down. Come on now. America needs to get their head out of their A$$.
Bank Robberies Good For Business?
Again, we don't consider those crazy fluke days as record days. The more the merrier, I always say. The robbers, (TWO of them) was caught and are in custody, as mentioned earlier in comments.
If you want the news before anyone else, all you have to do is save Salisbury News on your favorite and if it's actually happening, we'll have the news first. Thanks for visiting and we hope you enjoy the goods.

OLD CITY HALL FAÇADE RENOVATION COMPLETE
Salisbury Mayor James Ireton, Jr., will hold a press conference on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 3:00 p.m., to announce the completion of the Old City Hall façade restoration project. The press conference will be held at St. Peter’s Parish Hall, 115 St. Peter’s Street.
Urban Salisbury provided a $4,050 grant to St. Peter’s Vestry to help restore the façade of the Old City Hall, located at 110 St. Peter’s Street. St. Peter’s Church purchased the former city hall and firehouse earlier this year.
“This building is one of Downtown’s landmarks. Helping to preserve it and other heritage structures generates tourist visits which mean new dollars flowing into the community,” said Allan Hope, Executive Director of Urban Salisbury. “So, not only are we protecting Salisbury’s heritage, we’re stimulating the local economy which is our prime mission.”
Urban Salisbury also has façade grant applications in the works for the Charles H. Chipman Center and Poplar Hill Mansion. “Our program is funded through the Department of Housing and Community Development who works closely with the Maryland Historic Trust,” said Mr. Hope. “We’re hoping to have good news on both of these applications very soon.”
Downtown private property owners and tenants can also apply to Urban Salisbury for façade restoration assistance. Contact Allan Hope, Executive Director of Urban Salisbury, at 410-546-3205, for further details on this program.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Obama's Health Care, President Obama As Role Model
While President Obama shoves his BS down every child in Americas throat today, tomorrow he'll be passing off more of his BS to sell Congress, (again, as a role model) and wet pants liberals, (like Cents and Chuck) will be standing by his side selling America on yet another bill of worthless goods because they're the closest thing to the right hand of God and they know better. I can see Obama tapping on some kids shoulder and saying, can I bum a Kool off of you kid. Kid responds, but I'm not 18 Sir.
I mean, just look at the photo above. You're a believer now, aren't you? The only thing that's missing is a joint, a beer and a hooker. But that wouldn't be healthy, sorry about that. Besides, pot is good for that old arthritis, whoops!
Traffic Stop At The I-95 Toll Plaza Yields Two Drug Runners
Location: I-95 southbound at the Maryland line toll plaza, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Monday, September 7th, 2009 at approximately 1:00 a.m.
Suspect(s):
Krystal Spencer, 23, of Richmond, Virginia
Monte D. Ruffin, 24, of Richmond, Virginia
Resume: On Monday, September 7th at approximately 1:00 a.m., a Troop 6 patrol officer was conducting routine traffic enforcement at the I-95 toll plaza.
The officer observed a 2001 Chevrolet Impala approaching the southbound toll plaza at a speed greater than the posted limit. A traffic stop ensued and the driver was identified as Krystal Spencer. Her passenger was identified as Monte D. Ruffin. Upon speaking with the subjects, they both gave conflicting statements which heightened the officer’s suspicions. Also, Ruffin provided the officer with a false name and Spencer went along with his story.
The Trooper then requested the assistance of a drug certified K-9. A New Castle County Police K9 handler, and his partner, responded to the scene and the dog alerted on the suspect vehicle. A subsequent search of the Impala yielded over 60 grams of crack cocaine, over 2 grams of marijuana and over $2,600.00 in cash.
Both subjects were charged with Trafficking Cocaine (felony), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping a Controlled Substance (felony), Possession with the Intent to Deliver Narcotics (felony), Conspiracy 2nd (felony) and Possession of Marijuana (misdemeanor). Spencer was charged additionally with Hindering Prosecution (misdemeanor), Unsafe Speed (traffic violation) and No Insurance (traffic violation). Ruffin picked up an additional charge for Criminal Impersonation (misdemeanor).
Krystal Spencer was committed to the Baylor Woman’s Correctional Institute in lieu of a $29,000.00 secured bond. Monte D. Ruffin was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of a $26,000.00 secured bond.
Slavery Reparations
The following is an essay regarding the failings of a system and a culture.
Please note that he elegantly describes the mood of many Americans and he does so without prejudice.
Slavery Reparations ..........by Fred Reed!
On the Web I find that Henry Louis Gates Jr., the chairman of Afro-American Studies at Harvard, is demanding that whites pay reparations to blacks. It's because of
slavery, see. He is joined in this endeavor by a gaggle of other professional blacks. I guess he'll send me a bill, huh?
I feel like saying, "Let me get this straight, Hank. I'm slow. Be patient.
You want free money because of slavery, right? I don't blame you." I'd like free money too. Tell you what. I believe in justice.
I'll give you a million dollars for every slave I own, and another million for every year you were a slave.
Fair enough?
But tell me, how many slaves do you suppose I have?
In round numbers, I mean...say to the nearest dozen. And how long were you a slave?
Oh. In other words, I owe you reparations for something that I didn't do and didn't happen to you.
That makes sense.
Like lug nuts on a birthday cake.
Personally, I think you owe me reparations for things you didn't do and never
happened to me.
I've never been coated in Dutch chocolate and thrown from the Eiffel Tower . I'll bet you've never done it to anyone. I want reparations. Kind of silly, isn't it?
But if we're going to talk about reparations, that's a street that runs in two directions. You want money from me for what some other whites did to some other blacks in another century?
How about you guys paying whites reparations for current expenses caused by blacks? Not long ago blacks burned down half of Los Angeles , a city in my country.
Cities are expensive, Hank. Build one sometime and you'll see what I mean. Whites had to pay taxes to repair Los Angeles for you. You can send me a check.
Now, yes, I know you burned LA because you didn't like the verdict in the trial of those police officers.
Well, I didn't like the verdict in the Simpson trial.
>
But I didn't burn my house and loot Korean grocers, or burn down a city.
Over the years blacks have burned a lot of American cities: Newark, Detroit, Watts, on and on. Now add in the fantastic cost over the years of welfare in all its forms,
the cost of all of those police calls people had to make, for cells and jails and security systems in department stores.
I can't live in the capital city of my own country because of crime committed by blacks. Toss in the cultural cost of lowering standards in everything for the benefit of blacks. See what I mean?
Now, I'd view things differently if you said to me, "Fred, blacks can't get anywhere in a modern country without education. We know that. We need better schools, smarter teachers, harder courses, books with smaller pictures and bigger words. Can you help us?"
I'd say, "Hallelujah! Hoo-ahh! Not just yes, but hell yes. Let's sell an aircraft carrier and get these folks some real schools and get them into the economic main-stream.' I'd say It partly because it would be the right thing to do, and partly because I'd like to add you guys to the tax base.
The current custodial state is expensive. I'd just love for blacks to study and learn to compete and stop burning places. But is it going to happen? You may not believe it, but I, and most whites, don't like seeing blacks as miserable and screwed up as they are.
I spend a fair amount of time in the projects. Those places are ugly. It's no fun watching perfectly good kids turn into semi-literate dope dealers who barely speak English. It just plain ain't right. But, Hank, what am I supposed to do about it? I can't do your children's homework. At some point, people have to do things for themselves, or they don't get done. Maybe it's time.
I'll tell you what I see out in the world, Hank... I think blacks are too accustomed to getting anything they want by just demanding it. True, it has worked for over half a century. Get a few hundred people in the street, implicitly threaten to loot and burn, holler about slavery, and sadly the Great White Cash Spigot turns
on.
Thing is, whites don't much buy it any longer. Most recognize that what once was a civil-rights movement has become a shakedown game. Few people still feel responsible for the failings and inadequacies of blacks. Political correctness keeps the lid on -- but everyone knows the score. Whichscares me, Hank.
On one hand, blacks hate whites and incline toward looting and burning. (The whites you hate are the ones who marched in the civil-rights movement. Ever think about that?)
On the other hand, whites quietly grow wearier and wearier of it. Not good, Hank.
On the third hand (allow me three hands, for rhetorical convenience), blacks keep demanding things. As I write, you demand reparations for slavery. Blacks in Oklahoma (I think it was) want money for some ancient race riot.
Other blacks reject the Declaration of Independence. Blacks in New York hint broadly at burning and looting over a trial, yet more demand the elimination of the Confederate flag, and the federal equal opportunity apparatus, which means blacks want to sue Silicon Valley for not hiring nonexistent black engineers.
That's a lot of demanding for one month,Hank.
What happens if whites ever say, "No"?
Now, how about you?
You've got a cushy job up there at Harvard, and you can hoot and holler about what swine and bandits whites are. I guess it's lots of fun, and you get a salary for it to boot.
But don't you think you might do blacks more good if you told them to complain less
and study more?
For example, if you want blacks to work in Silicon Gulch, the best approach might be to find some really smart black guys, and get them to study digital design ~ not Black Studies (as you teach). That's how everybody else does it. It works. Then blacks wouldn't feel left out, and racial tensions would decline. Sound like a plan?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours a week do professors of Afro-American Studies spend in the projects, encouraging poor black kids to study real-life sho-nuf subjects?
Editors Note: As you will recall, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is the Harvard professor who got arrested by Cambridge Police a month or so ago.
Fred Reed was a police reporter for one of the large Washington newspapers.
He now writes a column which can be googled ~ "Fred on Everything."
Fred published a weekly online column in which he got to say the things his editors
would never, ever have let him write in the paper. His stuff is iconoclastic and various articles have probably offended everyone . . .
Regardless of political orientation. So, with the warning that "This is definitely not politically correct," here comes Fred.
COUNTY ANNOUNCES FIRST PHASE OF SPENDING CUTS – PAY REDUCTIONS
Pollitt stressed that the pay reductions are temporary and that all county employees will participate with the exception of those whose wage would fall below the federal minimum and exempt employees. The plan is based on the equivalent of a day’s pay ranging from a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 10 based on the employee’s salary range. Pollitt said that there will be no affect on benefit computation and that furlough days are not part of the plan.
It is anticipated that the legislation will be on the County Council’s September 15th agenda. The council must approve the budget reduction before it can take affect.
HOW MUCH IS THE REDUCTION?
Number of Days
Employee Group Pay Reduction
Less than $40,000 5 Days (1.961%)
$40,000-49,999 7 Days (2.767%)
$50,000-100,000 9 Days (3.586%)
Over $100,000 10 Days (4.000%)
This will not affect any benefit computation.

One Man's Opinion
Secretary Notter:
I just finished listening to your conversation with Megyn Kelly, at Fox's America's News Room, and I am appalled! As a parent, I must inform you sir, that no child should be forced to view or listen to any politician, or political address, unless the parents are in concurrence, and may also monitor the conditions of such a blatant exposure to potential political indoctrination! And, the issue isn't the president, nor is it his politics, and it certainly isn't an issue of his message, or as you put it, civics! "The issue is Freedom of Choice", as guaranteed not by you, the president, or your bosses, but by the Constitution; we haven't lost that, yet! You have no authority, legally, morally, or otherwise, to usurp parental authority, none!
If I were a resident of Broward County, you would be "seeing" me sir! How dare you place yourself above the Constitution of the United States, how dare you? Even the Secretary of Education of the United States, said that this should be a "voluntary" experience! I will wager that a close inspection of your curriculum, with specificity, the teaching of the "unrevised" version of this Nation's History, and the subject of Civics, would be very revealing! "You" must simply leave "our" children alone, when it comes to parental exercise of authority over them; parenthood trumps the government every time on those kinds of issues! Your policy is just despicable, I cannot define it in any other way!

The Case Of The Busy Burglar
Location:
Christiana Excavating- 2042 Sunset Lake Road, Newark, Delaware
Schlosser and Associates- 2047 Sunset Lake Road, Newark, Delaware
Horizon Helicopters- 2035 Sunset Lake Road, Newark, Delaware
Date of Occurrence: Sunday, September 6, 2009, between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Suspect(s): Ronald Mainville, 30, who is last known to live in the area of New Castle, Delaware
Resume: This past Sunday morning, Troopers were called to Horizon Helicopters on Sunset Lake Road for the report of a theft. An employee at the business was inside the shop working when the audible alarm activated. He walked outside to check on things and found a male subject, later identified as Ronald Mainville, lurking about. Mainville immediately fled the area and the Horizon employee went back inside and called 911.
When officers arrived on the scene, it was determined that {Mainville} had tried to break into the business by damaging an exterior window. This investigation also revealed the suspect had stolen a camera, belonging to the employee, from a truck outside.
Around this same time, Troopers were called for burglary reports at two other businesses on Sunset Lake Road- Christiana Excavating and Schlosser and Associates.
In the Christiana Excavating case, the suspect had entered the business by forcing open the front door. Once inside, he stole a security camera.
Over at Schlosser and Associates, it was determined the suspect had pried open a window and entered the business. He then got busy taking a computer, a radio and blank checks. The suspect proceeded to smash through several interior doors causing damage. He was able to locate a set of keys that started a 1997 Ford F-150 parked out front. With the keys in hand, the suspect loaded a company snow blower into the back of the pickup truck. He then fled from the fenced-in yard by driving through the locked gate.
Realizing the suspect had spent a significant amount of time in the vicinity, an area canvas was conducted. Troopers located the stolen truck on the shoulder of Route 72. The suspect was outside of the vehicle and was apprehended without incident. All of the stolen property was recovered. The Ford F150 was determined to have sustained significant damage.
Ronald Mainville was positively identified and transported back to Troop 2 for processing. He was formally charged with the following offenses: two counts of Burglary (felony), Theft (felony), two counts of Theft (misdemeanor), two counts of Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief (felony) and Attempted Burglary (felony). He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $7,000.00 secured bail.
Here Come The Lesbian Rangers!
By Henry Makow Ph.D.
University students continue to face a bizarre government campaign to make them homosexuals, part of the Illuminati banker attack on marriage, family and the birthrate.
At the University of Winnipeg, co-eds were invited to participate in a lesbian "Reorientation Week."
They were asked to become "rangers" with the "Lesbian National Parks and Services," the brainchild of local "performing artists" Shauna Dempsey and Lorri Millan. (See Poster)
This is the lesbian equivalent of the university and government hiring two middle-aged males to meet co-eds, go camping and have sex.
The two womyn had a "field office" in the university art gallery, staffed by a university employee in ranger uniform. They took part in pancake breakfasts, barbecues and interviews on campus radio.
"Lesbian Rangers salute and welcome you!" their brochure said. "Here you will encounter new, even life-changing lifestyles and ideas. These may challenge you in uncomfortable ways."
The university art gallery, the Manitoba Arts Council and the Canada Council, sponsored this tasteless attack on heterosexuality to the tune of about $10,000. This doesn't include thousands of taxpayer dollars already expended on their promotional video and "Field Guide" which includes examples of lesbian "flora and fauna."
Their message: "Homosexuality is natural. Question the heterosexual model. Heterosexuality is a social invention."
When I went to university, students learned to question authority. Today, they learn to question their gender.
Does the LNPS actually exist? This is social engineering masquerading as art, propaganda disguised as parody. It is a shock tactic. Eventually the outrageous becomes accepted. Often, what happens in the imagination occurs in reality.
The Lesbian Rangers don't actually work in any parks. But the artists claim to have hundreds of junior members called "Eager Beavers."
Their video (online) is full of such double entendres and sexual innuendo. The two "bush women" leave "no stone or lesbian unturned." It's a "lesbian-eat-lesbian-world." Knots are practiced in various bondage positions. Their website is called http://www.fingerinthedyke.ca/performance_art.html
Yet, in the video, they fine a heterosexual male $100 for wearing a lewd T-shirt ("Blow me") and intimidate him when he protests. He is reprimanded for "threatening the lesbian environment." Rangers are urged to make "citizens' arrests."
Lesbians are just a few government grants shy of having a paramilitary organization, a cross between the Girl Scouts and Hitler's Brown Shirts. (Hitler's SA was notoriuously homosexual.)
In the video, they "rescue" a straight female from drowning. She is enchanted by her hairy-legged saviors and "sees the world through brand new eyes."
LESBIAN PLAYGROUND
If the University of Winnipeg is an indication, universities are playgrounds for lesbianism. It makes sense. Enrollment is already 2-1 female.
In June 2001, the University of Winnipeg made headlines when high school students attending a summer art history course complained they were shown lesbian porn and instructed to use zucchinis instead of seeking male companionship. The instructors were not removed.
The following year, the "Womyn's Center" sponsored an event where co-eds had casts made of their breasts! Imagine if heterosexual male students sponsored such an event.
Each February, the gay-dominated student council sponsors a "Question Your Gender" week.
The "Sexual Harassment Officer" stated that the university takes a grim view if only one student is made "uncomfortable." Apparently this rule only applies to the discomfort of feminists, gays and lesbians. The claim of "victimhood" masks an aggressive destructive ideology.
In Women's Studies courses, co-eds learn to be feminist "change agents" and harass professors who step out of line. Women's Studies originated in the training schools of the US Communist Party in the 1940's. The Rockefeller Foundation sponsors Women's Studies. If you Google "Rockefeller Foundation" and "Women's Studies," you will get 128,000 entries.

Twenty Minutes With The President
WICOMICO COUNCIL PRESIDENT WANTS REFUND FROM SALISBURY
At 4:00 today the Salisbury City Council will hold a special meeting to consider a property owner’s request to waive and refund the City’s lien charges for code violations at 304 Delaware Avenue. The owner is the real estate firm operated by the family of John Cannon, which bought the property at a tax sale two years ago. Between the sale and the date when the property was deeded to their firm the City cited and corrected various violations by work that included cutting grass many times, as well as cleaning the premises of trash and boarding up the building there, for a total lien charge of $2,328.16.
The Cannons paid that charge in order to have the title transferred to them, but Mr. Cannon wants the City to repay the funds because they did not own the property when the City had that work performed. They also believe that the City should have given them notice of the violations.
Mr. Cannon’s letter to the City does not say why they did not ask the City to send code violation notices to them or why they could not tell that there were problems by simply inspecting the property. And even if they had been given notice, they would have had the cost of doing the work.
The City administration is opposed to making the refund, and the City Council should fully support Mayor Ireton in this matter.
House Democrats Return To Work Still Divided
Same set of problems greets lawmakers as they come back to Washington
WASHINGTON - After a nearly 40-day recess that was anything but restful, House Democrats are returning to work Tuesday still unsettled over pending health-care legislation and sure only that the people have had their say.
They are in almost the exact position they were in when they left the Capitol in late July. Conservatives are still leery of supporting a government-funded, or public, insurance option. Freshman lawmakers from suburban districts remain fearful of increasing taxes for their wealthy constituents to pay for the new measure and await alternatives from moderate Senate Democrats. And progressives, who are demanding the most far-reaching reform since the Great Depression, are still threatening to bring down the legislation if it does not contain a robust version of the public option.
In the lead-up to President Obama's critical Wednesday night address to a joint session of Congress, interviews with a cross section of about 15 House Democrats and half a dozen aides show that there is still overwhelming support for some overhaul of the health-care system. But the caucus remains deeply divided over the details of the more than 1,000-page measure and now faces a public that is more skeptical than when House committees began drafting the plan two months ago.

U.S. No Longer Most Competitive Economy
The U.S. is second ranked in a poll of over 13,000 business leaders conducted by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum, behind Switzerland. Singapore is third and Sweden comes forth.
"Given that the financial crisis originated in large part in the United States, it is hardly surprising that there has been a weakening of the assessment of its financial market sophistication," the survey said. "The country's greatest weakness continues to be related to its macroeconomic stability."
Martial Law Alert Over Swine Flu
-- no Swine Flu threat exists;
-- reported H1N1 infections and deaths are uncorroborated;
-- WHO predicting a global pandemic affecting "as many as two billion people....over the next two years" is falsified hype unless a diabolical depopulation scheme (by vaccines or other means) plans to create one;
-- vaccines don't protect against diseases they're designed to prevent and often cause them;
-- all vaccines contain harmful toxins, including mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol (antifreeze), and squalene adjuvants that weaken and can destroy the human immune system, making it vulnerable to many annoying to life-threatening illnesses; and
-- evidence suggests that the H1N1 strain was bioengineered in a US laboratory, and the vaccines being produced for it are extremely hazardous and potentially lethal.
Under no circumstances should anyone submit to them even if threatened with fines, quarantine, or incarceration.
Government and PhRMA Are Enemies, Not Protectors
On April 26, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a "Determination that a Public Health Emergency Exists....as a consequence of confirmed cases of H1N1 Influenza in four US states." At an April 27 press briefing, Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano said:
Yesterday "I issued a public health emergency declaration" as part of "standard operating procedure" to make more government resources available to combat the spread of Swine Flu. She then ordered the FDA "to proceed to permit things like Tamiflu to be used for populations that they otherwise wouldn't be used for - in this case, for example, very, very young children."
On November 13, 2005, Japan's Health Ministry said it was "looking into reports of a number of sudden deaths of young people who had taken prescribed dosages of Tamiflu." The Ministry also "found 64 cases of psychological disorders linked to the drug in the past four years."
The Japan Institute of Pharmaco-Vigilance head, Dr. Rokura Hama, said "Tamiflu appears to be similar to other powerful drugs that can cause behavioral changes" by affecting the central nervous system. It's the leading medication prescribed for the treatment and prevention of flu. In April, DHS ordered 12 million doses made available in locations around the country for quick access if needed.

I'll Show You How To Get To Heaven
As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked,
"Son, can you tell me where the Post Office is?"
The little boy replied, "Sure!
Just go straight down this street acoupla blocks and turn to your right."
The man thanked the boy kindly and said,
"I'm the new pastor in town.
I'd like for you to come to church on Sunday.
I'll show you how to get to Heaven."
The little boy replied with a chuckle.
"Awww, come on... you don't even know the way to the Post Office."
The Liquid Bombers
Kurt Nimmo writes a fine article here about the so called "liquid bombers". The case was clearly used as an excuse to exhert more power over us at the airport. It is similar to the ridiculous "shoe bomber" who tried to light his tennis shoe laces with a pack of wet matches - in hopes of blowing up the plane. These instances are mere psy-ops to whip us into a panic. Our government is lying to us about the war on terror. The only terrorists are in the CIA and the MSM.

Van Jones’ Resignation
Ah, the Dividends of a Yale Law degree:
The problems with Van “change the system” Jones are not just his serial slurs against much of American society (“an apartheid regime”) as we know it (e.g., capitalism, the coal industry, American farming, the white population, the Bush administration (for causing 9/11), the Republican “***holes”, etc. — but that he simply cannot tell the truth about his own history, in disavowing almost everything he has said, written, or signed in the recent past. (His involvement with the 9/11 “Bush did it” lunacy has a heritage beyond just his written endorsement).
Worse still, by its own admission, the Obama administration seems to have monitored Jones and selected him for his czardom precisely because of, not despite, his flamboyant past.
Cf. Obama guru Valerie Jarrett’s gush: “Oooh. Van Jones, alright! So, Van Jones. We were so delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House. We were watching him, uh, really, he’s not that old, for as long as he’s been active out in Oakland. And all the creative ideas he has. And so now, we have captured that. And we have all that energy in the White House.”
Jones and other Obama radicals (the more middle- and upper-middle class the pedigree, the angrier the denunciations) have a strange tendency in the past to have slandered much of American society, then abruptly — once anointed into its highest echelons — to equate their own careerist ascendency with a positive referendum on America’s sudden deliverance (the “apartheid” U.S. in need of having its entire system “changed” is now okay since a Van Jones is in the White House.)
Michelle Obama articulated that view with her trope about not previously being proud of America until her husband became a serious candidate, but apparently for the next few years we are supposed to endure lectures from a variety of leftists like Jones that their own success allows us to find (temporary) redemption from them.
I would assume that Jones will have resigned within 24 hours, given the crudity, surrealism, and venom of his serial invective.
I Could No More Disown Van Jones Than . . .
When Van Jones talks of the aims of the civil rights movement and its initial minimalist agenda, he references the ultimate desire of 'redistributing all wealth.' When one collates that revelation with Obama's own off-handed "spread the wealth" comment, his 'fair share' sermons, and his 2001 public radio interview thoughts on “the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society,” we begin to see a pattern in which one’s income and wealth do not properly belong to the earner, but are seen as illegitimate and thus legitimately can be redistributed to others.
What is interesting about Van Jones’ supposedly divisive comments are that many in fact dovetail with Obama’s past revelations in more indiscreet moments. Aside from a shared rhetoric of spreading and redistributing wealth, I don’t see how white polluters of the ghetto is that much different from anything Rev. Wright said, Obama’s own ‘typical white person’, or his stereotyping of the Pennsylvania clingers or the Cambridge police.
Jones’ own deprecations of the U.S. are no more extreme than Michelle Obama’s ‘downright mean country’ and for the first time she has become proud of America. When Van Jones talks about coal, he is simply amplifying Obama’s own suggestion that he would “bankrupt” those who wished to build new plants.
So I do believe Valerie Jarrett that the administration had been looking at Van Jones for a long time, and liked what they saw.

Brooke Mulford Update
New You Tube video above: Brooke doing a dance (on 9/3) to a song written just for her by Songs of Love. Caution: watching this video (at the end) may cause dizziness!
Thursday 9/3 Transplant Day +13: Happy 1st birthday to Bailey dog! Thanks so much Miss Liz and Dr. Dave for making Bailey’s birthday special! Brooke had a great day today. The morning started with a visit with Aunt Cheryl and a surprise visit from Rev. Patterson. Brooke was in a very happy mood and had so much fun with them both. Not long after they both left, then Grammy arrived followed by Uncle Bruce (who Brooke enjoyed playing hide-n-seek with) and last but not least Aunt Alisyn came to visit and helped get Brooke tucked in for the night. Brooke has been saying the sweetest prayers at night lately. She prays every night for Dr. Alvarado’s family, the kids she has met at CHOP and last night she prayed for God to take care of her Daddy. It was so touching…I just love when she prays from her heart and that with all she is going through that she is still thinking about others.
Friday 9/4 Transplant Day +14: Still having some issues with nausea, vomiting & diarrhea. I hope that these things go away soon. It will be very difficult to get her to start eating and drinking while she’s still feeling like this.
After Grammy arrived 2 radiation oncology residents and the attending (from HUP – Hospital of Univ of Penn) came to speak with me about Brooke’s radiation plans. At the moment the plan is for her to have radiation to her abdominal area (the right side where her initial tumor was) for 12 days. But because her last MIBG scans (done after chemo round 5) indicated that there were still small amounts of Neuroblastoma in her skull and both femurs they have decided to do another MIBG to see if the chemo from round 6 and the 2 transplants have “mopped up” what was left. So if they detect any NB anywhere than the radiation plan will likely change and more areas will be radiated and the number of days could increase. She couldn’t get scheduled for an MIBG until 9:00am Thurs (9/10) so we will be staying here until then. The plan is for her to start the radiation process on Mon 9/21. She is still not eating or drinking anything (they are taking her off IV nourishment Sat morning so hopefully she will start at least drinking soon).
Tonight we got a wonderful surprise visit from Daddy! He came just as Grammy was leaving (around 6pm) and stayed until 10:00. We were both so excited to see him!
Saturday 9/5 Transplant Day +15: Brooke needed a platelet transfusion this morning (19,000). She seemed to have a difficult time with this one and fell asleep as soon as it was done. Nana came while she was sleeping to give me break for a few hours. Once Brooke woke up she had a great time with Nana doing activities with all her stickers and playing the new Nintendo DS game that Nana brought her.
Thank you everyone for all the cards, stickers and thoughtful gifts that have been sent to Brooke this admission. She has loved getting mail almost daily and it is such a nice pick-me-up when she is having rough days.
God Bless and please pray for her MIBG scans on Thurs to show No Evidence of Disease!

Explosion Injures Man After Sailboat Mast Hits Power Lines
"I heard the explosion,” said Mark Wisniewski, who owns waterfront property, “Then, I heard everybody running towards the water."
"We looked out and saw people in the water, and they were kind of swimming back to the boat, but it kept blowing up," said Wisniewski’s neighbor, Steve Mustachio.
As neighbors pulled three victims from the water, Mustachio jumped in to help the unidentified operator of the boat back to shore.
It’s believed the same electricity, which sparked explosions on the boat an

BBB Alerts Consumers about U.S. Census Workers: Be Cooperative, But Cautious!
The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race and other relevant data.
“Most people are rightfully cautious and won’t give out personal information to unsolicited phone callers or visitors, however the Census is an exception to the rule,” said Steve Cox, BBB spokesperson. “Unfortunately, scammers know that the public is more willing to share personal data when taking part in the Census and they have an opportunity to ply their trade by posing as a government employee and soliciting sensitive financial information.”
The Census data will be used to allocate more than $300 billion in federal funds every year, as well as determine a State’s number of Congressional representatives. Households are actually required by law to respond to the Census Bureau’s request for information.
During the U.S. Census, households will be contacted by mail, telephone or visited by a U.S. Census worker who will inquire about the number of people living in the house. Unfortunately, people may also be contacted by scammers who are impersonating Census workers in order to gain access to sensitive financial information such as Social Security, bank account or credit card numbers. Law enforcement in several states have issued warnings that scammers are already posing as Census Bureau employees and knocking on doors asking for donations and Social Security numbers.
The big question is - how do you tell the difference between a U.S. Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice:
• If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. However, you should never invite anyone you don’t know into your home.
• Census workers are currently only knocking on doors to verify address information. Do not give your Social Security number, credit card or banking information to anyone, even if they claim they need it for the U.S. Census. While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, it will not ask for Social Security, bank account or credit card numbers nor will employees solicit donations.
• Eventually, Census workers may contact you by telephone, mail or in person at home. However, they will not contact you by e-mail, so be on the look out for e-mail scams impersonating the Census. Never click on a link or open any attachments in an e-mail that are supposedly from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Thank You, Glenn Beck!
Thank you, Glenn Beck. By helping force the resignation of Van Jones, you have done a great service to your country. But in the exact opposite way than what you intended.
Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror.
Don't get me wrong: Van Jones was the best person for the job he just gave up. But the job was not the best use of Van Jones.
Contrary to the media caricature, the real Van Jones is a thoughtful leader who knows how to use words to move people to action. To stick him behind a desk, working out the details of tax credits for green jobs -- incredibly important though the job is -- was never the best use of his unique and abundant skills.
This is not an attempt to put a positive spin on an ugly episode. I've actually been feeling this way ever since Van told me he was taking this job.

Lawmakers Get Earful From Wary Voters
One centrist Democrat warned on health overhaul — 'walk slowly'
ELKHART, Ind.— As Congress returns this week for its fall session, the fate of President Barack Obama’s massive health care overhaul could lie in the hands of centrist Democrats like Rep. Joe Donnelly of Indiana.
Donnelly, a second-term congressman, represents a bellwether district: President George W. Bush won it in 2004 with 56 percent of the vote, but Obama won it last year with 54 percent.
As one of 52 fiscally cautious Blue Dog Democrats, his vote could be crucial. If most of the Blue Dogs vote “no” on the House leadership’s bill, then Obama’s signature first-term project almost surely will fail.
That would be an extraordinary turn of events for a candidate who won the White House with nearly 53 percent of the popular vote last year and who carried Indiana, a state no Democratic presidential candidate had won in 44 years.
On Wednesday night, Obama will try to sway lawmakers and the public on the health care overhaul in an address to a joint session of Congress, even as polls show voters increasingly skeptical about his approach.
It’s a skepticism Donnelly — and lawmakers around the country — heard firsthand from constituents over the August recess.

CATHOLIC SHAMPOO
The second nun answered "Indeed it would Sister, but I wouldn't feel comfortable buying beer as I am certain that it would cause a scene at the check-out counter."
"I can handle that without a problem" she replied as she picked up a six-pack and headed for the check-out.
The cashier had a surprised look on his face when the two nuns arrived with a six-pack of beer. "We use beer for washing our hair" the nun said, "A shampoo, of sorts, if you will."
Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter, pulled out a package of pretzel sticks and placed them in the bag with the beer. He then looked the nun straight in the eye, smiled and said, "The curlers are on the house."

AMERICA'S PROBLEM
Demonizing the wealthy, the bankers, the industrialists and wall street as unwilling to pay for health care, housing or any of those things poor people need is a Democrat mantra. It is working. Never mind the fact, that if you took all the money from the top 1% of earners, it wouldn't pay for Washington's programs. Therefore, government resorts to massive borrowing or even printing money, ignoring the consequences, in order to retain power. When labor unions, trial lawyers and other special interest groups are added to the "something for nothing" voters, conservatives are being trampled.
The last election should have taught Republicans they can not out promise the Democrats. Unless self respect and pride in one's accomplishments can be instilled into all people, we are doomed to failure. What makes this country great, is that anyone can rise to the top, if only they come to realize it takes hard work and not government handouts.

Offshore Drilling
OFFSHORE DRILLING
AFTER THE VOTERS FORCED
CONGRESS TO END OFFSHORE
DRILLING BAN LAST YEAR
A year later, the Obama administration is doing everything it can to drag its feet and prevent us from accessing American energy resources. They are trying to ignore the millions of Americans who demanded access to American energy resources by secretly putting the ban back in place.
Even more amazing and outrageous: the Obama administration is now actually poised to lend $2 billion from U.S. taxpayers to the Brazilian national oil company, Petrobras, for offshore drilling in Brazil.
This administration is actually going to force you to pay for offshore drilling in Brazil, at the same time they try to block offshore drilling here in America!
Fortunately, you can do something about it. The Obama administration is required by law to listen to public comments on the subject of energy exploration and production in the OCS.
Please click here to tell the Obama administration to allow offshore drilling here in America!
Offshore drilling in the OCS would be a real economic stimulus that would create jobs and economic growth by actually producing something. A study from ICF International estimates more than 160,000 well-paying American jobs would be created from allowing oil and gas drilling offshore. Government policy to prevent these jobs by banning access to our own resources is completely unacceptable at a time of 9.4 percent unemployment.
According to federal government estimates, the OCS contains 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. We all remember what a hardship it was when gas prices spiked over $4 a gallon last year. We also remember being told that allowing drilling wouldn’t help because it could take years for the new energy sources to reach the market. Well that’s why we can’t wait until the next price spike to start drilling. We need to drill here in America, and do it now.
Please click here to tell the Obama administration to allow offshore drilling here in America!
We only have three weeks until the docket closes on September 21 to make our voices heard, and the radical environmentalists will be sure to weigh in from the other side. Please comment today and pass this email on to anyone you know who can help.
