In addition to principal changes, I hear the BOE is going to rehire Tom Field, Alan Brown, Charlie Bounds and Bill Cain on a part time basis to share the job of Assistant Superintendent of Administration. That's the job that Bill Cain is retiring from in June.

Update: I was able to confirm that the board voted on this in its public meeting yesterday. After advertising the position and salary range, no satisfactory candidate was hired. The board voted 6 - 1 to hire the 4 retirees for one year on a part time basis. Mrs. Holloway voted no saying it was not an effective or efficient approach to fill one executive management position with 4 people.
A Daily Times reporter was in the meeting when this was voted on yesterday, but you heard it here first, folks!

Thirsty's Robbed Again!
"The Thirsty's at the intersection of Church Street and East Main in Salisbury was again robbed last night and both on-duty employees were assaulted. This happened just a few weeks ago, along with many more robberies in the last two years. I have seen nothing on this in the media. Why can't they solve it. Wonder if both recent robberies here, in which the clerks were beaten both times, are related to the robbery and shooting at the deli across the street a few months ago. Hey, Salisbury Police, don't you think a little more patrolling or stake-outs is warranted in this area, or do you just take reports?"

Arizona's tough new immigration enforcement law is fueling an exodus of Hispanics from the state seven weeks before it goes into effect, according to officials and residents in the state.
Though no one has precise figures, reports from school officials, businesses and individuals indicate worried Hispanics — both legal and illegal — are leaving the state in anticipation of the law, which will go into effect July 29.
Schools in Hispanic areas report unusual drops in enrollment. The Balsz Elementary School District is 75% Hispanic, and within a month of the law's passage, the parents of 70 students pulled them out of school, said District Superintendent Jeffrey Smith. The district lost seven students over the same one-month period last year, and parents tell Smith the Arizona law is the reason for leaving.
"They're leaving to another state where they feel more welcome," he said.
The measure, signed into law April 23 by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, requires a police officer to determine a person's immigration status if they are stopped, detained or arrested and there is "reasonable suspicion" they are in the country illegally.
About 100,000 illegal immigrants left Arizona after the state passed a law in 2007 that enhanced penalties on businesses that hired them, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Some early signs suggest another exodus.
Businesses serving the Hispanic community say business is down, signaling that illegal immigrants are holding on to cash in anticipation of a move from the state, said David Castillo, co-founder of the Latin Association of Arizona, a chamber of commerce for nearly 400 first-generation Hispanic business owners.

Two Men Arrested For Copper Thefts

Delaware State Police have arrested to men in connection to theft of copper in a vacant warehouse.
Troopers arrested Williams on Saturday June 5th after state police received a call about a suspicious person. When troopers arrived they took Williams into custody in a vacant warehouse located on Rt 18 south of Bridgeville. Taylor was apparently was on the property but eluded capture in the large building.
The two men allegedly entered the warehouse over a five day period and damaged electrical and air conditioning equipment and removed copper wire and tubing from same. The men stole approximately $2,000 of copper but cause over $70,000 worth of damage while committing the thefts.
Taylor turned himself into troopers at Troop 4 in Georgetown on Monday June 7th.
Both men were charged with 5 counts of Burglary 3rd, 5 counts of Possession of Burglary Tools, 8 counts of Criminal Mischief and Conspiracy 2nd.
Williams was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $18,500 bail.
Taylor was released on $21,000 bail.

Resume: At approximately 9:30 a.m. today, Troopers were dispatched to the PNC Bank in the Penn Mart Shopping Center in reference to a bank robbery.
In this case, a male suspect entered the bank and handed a note to a teller demanding cash. The bank employee complied and bandit in turn fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was described as a white male, shaved head, short in stature with tattoos on his neck.
A short time after the heist, New Castle City Police Officers spotted a vehicle on West 9th Street and Clayton Street in the “Shawtown” area of Old New Castle. The vehicle was similar to one involved in a hit and run crash from earlier in the day. Officers stopped the car and contacted the operator- Jeffrey S. Mancinelli. This subject’s description matched the bank robber’s description and Troopers were called to take custody of Mancinelli.
As Troopers were transporting this subject back to the Penn Mart Shopping Center, Mancinelli kicked the two back windows out of the Trooper’s police cruiser. Once at Penn Mart, Mancinelli continued his violent behavior as he spit on officers, shouted expletives and derogatory slurs and threatened Troopers.
At the conclusion of the on-scene investigation, Mancinelli was transported back to Troop 2 for processing. He was formally charged with Robbery and Criminal Mischief.
Bail information was not available at the time of this release. This information will be provided later this evening.

Dog Found In Princess Anne UPDATE: They Have Been Reunited!!!!

Yesterday my mom found a dog wandering through traffic on rt 13 in Princess Anne. She has a flea collar and a regular collar, but no contact information :( She has been well groomed and is really friendly.. We are trying to find her owners. I had a few people suggest that I email you a photo of her and maybe you can help!

WASHINGTON - Kevin Costner just had his seventh child. Oh well, he can afford it. According to a recently released Department of Agriculture report, it now costs as much as $475,680 to raise a child to age 18.
That doesn't count college. Financial aid expert Mark Kantrowitz of FinAid.org estimates that parents will need an additional $127,683 (in 2009 dollars) to send a child born today to a median-priced state university when he is 18. Add to that a few travel team tournaments, the post-college boomerang kids, and that whole keep-them-on-your-health-insurance-until-they-are-26 plan, and it gives new meaning to the expression "million-dollar baby."
None of this, of course, is to suggest that people should not have children until they can afford them. If that were the case, nobody would ever have kids, except for Kevin Costner.

Security Council OKs Iran Sanctions
Obama hails vote; Turkey, Brazil vote against proposal
UNITED NATIONS - The U.N. Security Council on Wednesday approved new sanctions against Iran over its suspect nuclear program that target Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard, ballistic missiles and nuclear-related investments.
The resolution imposing a fourth round of sanctions against Iran was approved by a vote of 12-2 with Lebanon abstaining and Brazil and Turkey voting "no."
Turkey and Brazil, both non-permanent council members, brokered a fuel-swap agreement with Iran which they hoped would address concerns Tehran may be enriching uranium for nuclear weapons and avoid new sanctions.

11-Year-Old Child In Critical Condition After Evening Crash
Location: Pleasant Valley Road, south of Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, Delaware
Date and Time: June 8, 2010, at 7:39 p.m.
Involved Parties:
Jared J. Thompson, 18, of Newark; operating a 1994 Chrysler Town and Country
Pedestrian #1: 11-year-old Cidmarie Brown of Newark, Delaware
Pedestrian #2: 20-month-old Mariella Washington of Newark, Delaware
Resume: Investigators from the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to Pleasant Valley Road last night for a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
A Chrysler Town and Country was traveling north on Pleasant Valley Road, south of Old Baltimore Pike. The pedestrians were in the area of the end of their driveway along the 2000 block of Pleasant Valley Road.
The Chrysler then struck the children at the driveway entrance. It has not been determined if the mini-van drifted into the driveway or if the children wondered into the street.
As a result of the impact, the two children were transported to Christiana Hospital. The 11-year-old has injuries which are considered life threatening. The 20-month-old was admitted for observation only.
It should be noted that the mother of the children was also in the area of the driveway at the time of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation. Witnesses are asked to call Troop 2 investigators at 302-834-2620 ext. 278

Division St. Closed From Baltimore Ave. To Wilson St. Thursday
Salisbury Public Works, in a joint effort with Norfolk Southern Railroad has removed an abandoned railroad track on North Division St. between Baltimore Ave. & Wilson St. The paving of this area will take place Thursday, June 10th approx. 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. if it doesn’t rain.

Bad Accident On Rt. 13
There's been a very bad accident on Rt. 13 & College Ave. One vehicle is flipped over and there are other vehicles involved. Please avoid this area for at least the next 30 minutes. Emergency personnel are just now arriving at the scene.
Breaking News In Ocean City
Salisbury News has come to learn that a Tow Truck is at the bottom of the water in a loading dock area in a West Ocean City Marina.
There's been conflicting stories so far. One said the brakes went out as they were loading a boat into the Bay, and the other story is that this was a stolen Tow Truck that was purposely dumped into the water.
We'll have pictures shortly and an update on which story is more likely to be true. I should add, divers have been in the water to make sure there is no one in the truck, there is not. More to come.

Yesterday, the parents of Pemberton Elementary school received word that our beloved principal, Mr. Thorpe is being transferred to Chipman. In the weeks prior, our assistant principal had made it known that she is returning to Worecester county at the conclusion of this school year. So now, we find ourselves without continuity of leadership and wondering why Mr. Thorpe, after many years of truly exceptional service to our school, is being transferred from a pre K - 5th grade and Magnet program to a K - 2nd grade "feeder school"?
Mr. Thorpes' support of the Magnet program has been in direct opposition to Drs. Frederickson and Handy who would prefer to contribute to the ongoing "dumbing down" of America by eliminating the Magnet program. It would seem that as a result, he is being punished. Obviously the response from the Board will be otherwise, but anyone familiar with the situation will recognize the truth of the matter.
If you look at Mr. Thorpe's record, talk to his teachers, students or parents, their is a clear and consitent message. He is an extremely hard working, genuinely caring adminstrator that has always put the education and interests of his students above everything else. In this instance, can we say that about the leadership at the Board? Clearly not. The is selfish, bush league, political retribution.
This type of behavior should not be permitted to go unchecked. I strongly urge all the parents of Pemberton Elementary to support Mr. Thorpe and send a message to Drs. Frederickson and members of the Board:

Fla. Christian School Fires Teacher Over 'Fornication' Claims
A former Florida teacher said the administrators of a Christian school where she was employed fired her because she became pregnant just before her wedding, MyFoxOrlando.com reported.
Now, she has filed a federal discrimination lawsuit against the private school in St. Cloud, Fla.
Jarrestta Hamilton said April of 2009 was the happiest month of her life. She was a newlywed and newly pregnant and teaching fourth graders at Southland Christian School. She said it was about that time when she approached by the administration to talk about "maternity leave."
She said when asked, she admitted that the baby was conceived three weeks before the wedding. A week later, she said the school fired her. Attorney Ed Gay is helping Hamilton sue the school, claiming that her termination amounts to discrimination based on her pregnancy and marital status.
"If they're going to single her out because she conceived prior to marriage, but allow people to remain employed who conceived during a marriage, isn't that discriminating against her based on her marital status?" asked Gay, according to MyFoxOrlando.com.

She said when asked, she admitted that the baby was conceived three weeks before the wedding. A week later, she said the school fired her. Attorney Ed Gay is helping Hamilton sue the school, claiming that her termination amounts to discrimination based on her pregnancy and marital status.
"If they're going to single her out because she conceived prior to marriage, but allow people to remain employed who conceived during a marriage, isn't that discriminating against her based on her marital status?" asked Gay, according to MyFoxOrlando.com.

Last evening, Chris Melvin's children (Jesse and Lee Lee) were involved in a car accident. Jesse was taken to PRMC and due to the severity of her injuries, Lee Lee was taken to Christiana Hospital.
I have just hung up speaking with Chris and this is what she shared: First of all, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE PRAYERS - THEY ARE WORKING! Lee Lee is still in critical condition and in ICU. Her left arm was almost severed off. She underwent 10 hours of surgery last evening to save the arm. A vein was placed in that arm and hopefully will take so the arm will be saved. By God's grace two of the top surgeons for this type of surgery were at this hospital when Lee Lee was brought in. Lee Lee lost four pints of blood and has blood on her brain. Her nose was crushed in three places and she has a gash on her left forehead.
When Chris was able to see her, Lee Lee was able to move her legs and feet!!! Lee Lee will be in an induced coma until Thursday afternoon. Then doctors will begin to bring her out to assess the brain damage. Doctors are limiting the amount of time Chris can visit with Lee Lee while she's in her present condition.
Please continue to pray for the Melvin family. She is staying in a hotel up in Christina. Let's do a casual day for her this Friday to help with those expenses. You can just bring it to Mrs. Underwood.

WHY IS RICK POLLITT RUNNING O’MALLEY’S CAMPAIGN IN WICOMICO COUNTY?
Count us among those who are very surprised that Mr. Pollitt has signed on as O’Malley’s campaign chairperson in Wicomico County. Some folks say that they have anticipated he would, but I’ve got to wonder why he would support O’Malley, much less work for his reelection as governor.
O’Malley was never popular here on the Shore, and he is much less so than in 2006, when Bob Ehrlich got 63% of the vote in Wicomico County. This year Ehrlich should get more than 70%, and Pollitt will face a much more formidable opponent than he did four years ago, when nobody knew much about his political predilections and he defeated a weak opponent.
Since then, both Pollitt and O’Malley have less than stellar records, both of which Rick will have to defend in his campaign. He has simply added to an already heavy burden.
It is very possible if not likely that Ehrlich will be the next governor of Maryland. So, if Pollitt also wins, he would then have to deal with the person that he worked to defeat in regard to getting special state funding and benefits. Not a good scenario to say the least.
Then there’s the obvious point that, if Pollitt has so much spare time, why does he need such a large staff, including a “public information officer.” It appears that he can handle that role himself and save the County about $75,000 per year.
This move does not bode well for Pollitt’s chances in November, unless he can successfully defend both his record and O’Malley’s during the past four years. Joe Ollinger must be smiling.
And another consequence could be to attract a Democrat wannabe to run against Mr. Pollitt in the primary on an anti-establishment or pro tax revenue cap (or both) platform. There’s still about a month left to file.
Call For Obama's Resignation Cites 'Deceit, Fraud, Dishonesty'
A retired U.S. military leader who now is a presence on the Internet with his Stand Up For America and Veterans Defenders websites has issued a call for President Obama's resignation and a new election to replace him.
The call comes from Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, who served in Vietnam and retired in 1991 from the U.S. Army as deputy commanding general for the Pacific.
"We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetero (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama) … based on incompetence, deceit, fraud, corruption, dishonesty and violation of the U.S. oath of office and the Constitution," he said in remarks delivered to a Lincoln Reagan dinner in Virginia City, Mont., last week and published today on the Stand Up America website."
And a call for a national petition for new elections to select the next president of the United States of America must be initiated," he continued. "We can wait no longer for a traditional change of power and new government."
A number of retired military members have sought the removal of Obama from office. They mostly have tried to utilize the courts to challenge his eligibility based on claims he fails to meet the U.S.Constitution 's requirement that a president be a "natural born citizen." Few have asserted Obama needs to walk away from the Oval Office for the best of the nation.
"The Declaration of Independence states: 'To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form ofgovernment becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government , laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness,'" Vallely said in his remarks.
"We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of progressive socialism and destruction of America. This is the current battle that we constitutionalists face, and we must be aggressive in our efforts," he said.

Journalist Dives Into Gulf, Can Only See Oil
It takes 30 minutes to clean off after diving into ocean 40 miles from shore
UNDER THE MURKY DEPTHS OF THE GULF OF MEXICO - Some 40 miles out into the Gulf Of Mexico, I jump off the boat into the thickest patch of red oil I've ever seen. I open my eyes and realize my mask is already smeared. I can't see anything and we're just five seconds into the dive.
Dropping beneath the surface the only thing I see is oil. To the left, right, up and down — it sits on top of the water in giant pools, and hangs suspended fifteen feet beneath the surface in softball sized blobs. There is nothing alive under the slick, although I see a dead jellyfish and handful of small bait fish.
I'm alone because the other divers with me wouldn't get in the water without Hazmat suits on, and with my mask oiled over and the water already dark, I don't dive deep.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was loudly interrupted by hecklers during a speech at a conference Tuesday morning in Washington. The standoff got so heated that an aide, telling Pelosi that "they're throwing stuff," tried to get her to leave the stage. Pelosi refused to go and delivered her speech over the heckling.
"I'm used to noise. I talk to the Democratic caucus every single day," she told the crowd.Pelosi was speaking at the Campaign for America's Future Conference, where a mixed bag of protesters was in attendance. The group Code Pink had a sign in the crowd that said "stop funding Israel terror," but the protesters making the most noise were angry about health care.
"I am not going back to a nursing home," one of them screamed out, triggering more protesters to start chanting: "Our homes, not nursing homes."
Pelosi tried to calm them down and proceed. "I've heard your message. I hear what you're saying. I appreciate your concern," she said.
As the chanting and shouting continued, a man walked up behind Pelosi to tell her, "I don't know if we can stop it. There are too many of them."
Shortly afterward, another aide told Pelosi: "Ma'am -- they're throwing stuff. We need to leave."
Pelosi did not move.
"I'm going to make my speech over your voices, because I came here to thank you for helping us to get health care reform passed," she said.

Reuters Admits Cropping Photos Of Ship Clash, Denies Political Motive
The British-based Reuters news agency has been stung for the second time by charges that it edited politically sensitive photos in a way that casts Israel in a bad light. But this time Reuters claims it wasn’t at fault.
The news agency reacted to questions raised by an American blogger who showed that Reuters' photo service edited out knives and blood traces from pictures taken aboard the activist ship Mavi Marmara during a clash with Israeli commandos last week. Nine people were killed and scores were injured in the clash.
The pictures of the fight were released by IHH, the Turkish-based group that sponsored the six-ship fleet that tried to break Israel's blockade of Gaza.
In one photo, an Israeli commando is shown lying on the deck of the ship, surrounded by activists. The uncut photo released by IHH shows the hand of an unidentified activist holding a knife. But in the Reuters photo, the hand is visible but the knife has been edited out.
The blog “Little Green Footballs” challenged Reuters' editing of the photo.

Palin Wants Obama To Call Her
(CNN) – Sarah Palin says its time for President Barack Obama to pick up the phone and make some calls – maybe even to her.
In her latest post on Facebook, the former Alaska governor takes aim at the president for not speaking directly with BP CEO Tony Hayward during the ongoing Gulf Coast crisis. Obama told NBC Tuesday that he has not spoken with Hayward because "when you talk to a guy like a BP CEO, he's gonna say all the right things to me - I'm not interested in words, I'm interested in actions."
Palin wrote that Obama's comments amount to "further proof that it bodes well to have some sort of executive experience before occupying the Oval Office," and added that the president should call experts who lived through the 1989 Exxon-Valdez oil spill in Alaska – including herself.
"We've all lived and worked through the Exxon-Valdez spill," she wrote. "They can help you. Give them a call. Or, what the heck, give me a call."

ProPublica and NPR reported today that the military is failing to diagnose soldiers who suffered brain injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan. It didn't take long to get a response. Soon after learning that the stories were about to air, the Pentagon's public affairs machine began circulating talking points on traumatic brain injuries—just in case senior medical commanders weren't up to speed on what the military's been doing for troops with one of the wars' signature wounds.
The talking points, which we obtained and were sent to top Army officials, don't directly address the findings of our investigation. We found that the military's system has repeatedly overlooked soldiers with so-called mild traumatic brain injuries. These blast injuries, which some doctors call concussions, leave no visible scars but can cause lasting physical and mental harm in some cases.
The Pentagon's official figures say about 115,000 soldiers have suffered a mild traumatic brain injury since the wars began. But we found that military doctors and screening tools routinely miss soldiers who have suffered mild traumatic brain injuries on the battlefield. Experts we interviewed and documents we obtained said the military's count may understate the true toll by tens of thousands of soldiers.

Two-thirds of Americans – 66 percent -- would rather see stricter enforcement of immigration laws than offering illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
The poll asked voters: “Do you think immigration reform should primarily move in the direction of integrating illegal immigrants into American society or in the direction of stricter enforcement of laws against illegal immigration?”
Only 26 percent of Americans said they prefer the integration of illegal immigrants, while 66 percent want the laws to be more heavily enforced.
Passed on April 19, Arizona’s new immigration bill (SB 1070) institutes several regulations, including one making it a state violation for aliens to fail to carry an alien registration document. The law also contains provisions designed to halt businesses and others from hiring, transporting, harboring or concealing illegal immigrants.
In the same poll, Quinnipiac asked voters: “Based on what you’ve heard or read, do you approve or disapprove of Arizona’s new immigration law?”
The poll found that 51 percent approve of Arizona’s immigration law while 31 percent disapprove.
Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, classified the Arizona immigration law as a “major divide in the country” and said the “numbers are on the side of those supporting it.”

6.2 Million Mexicans Want To Move To U.S.
A new poll shows 6.2 million Mexicans would like to move permanently to the United States if they could – almost half the 14 million Mexicans who said they would like to move outside of their native country.
Canada and Spain were listed as the other top destinations that Mexicans cited.
Gallup concluded that if all adults worldwide who said they would like to move to another country actually did so, the U.S. could see a net population gain of 60 percent. On the other hand, Mexico could see net population losses as high as 15 percent.
According to Gallup, the survey is considered to be significant, because even though the results show people’s aspirations rather than intentions, it is an important consideration for world leaders who want to proactively manage migration and migrant policy in their countries.

Five Guys Burgers And Fries Review
Thank God this place is just across the street from the college because if they had to rely on adults forking up good hard earned money for what we might consider a serious burger, this place sucks!When I went to the same place in Annapolis the meat patties were much larger. Look, I don't mind paying extra money for a really big burger but when I went there last night with my Wife and Grandson, our bill came to $27.00. Now, our Grandson had the small burger, I had the large burger and my Wife ordered the veggie samich. Within 3 minutes they were calling out our number and I though, wow, that was quick.
The reason they were calling our number was to tell me, you do realize the veggie samich is just veggies with cheese on a hamburger bun, right? I replied, you're not serious, are you. Yes! I went back to our table and Jennifer said, isn't it a veggie wrap, or something like that. I told her it was simply veggies cooked with cheese on a hamburger roll. That was $2.99! We thought, what the heck, we'll give it a try. We also ordered two fries and three drinks.
Well, the veggie samich was CRAP. Jennifer took one bite and threw it back in the aluminum foil and threw it in the trash. My burger was just an ok burger and our Grandson, well, he was in heaven. He was munching on the free peanuts and enjoying the burger as well.
The fries also sucked! The only crisp ones were in the bag and the ones in the cups were soggy and so loaded with salt, even our Grandson wouldn't eat them. The parking was horrible as we actually had to sit on Rt. 13 for a few minutes before we could even pull in.
I did ask if they were as busy last night as they were tonight and they replied, NO! They said, we don't know what happened but we have a much larger crowd tonight. The funny part was, at one point I knew about 50% of the people in there who frequent Salisbury News.
I hope the rest of you didn't end up on the toilet several times last night like some of us did. We won't return. They need to add a chicken samich to their menu if they want to satisfy those people who don't eat burgers or hot dogs.

Tea Party Activists Are Out-Lobbying Liberals, Liberal Leader Says
Although Democrats control the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives, the head of ProgressiveCongress.com said the liberal movement is not doing enough to further its political agenda and is, in fact, being out-lobbied by tea party activists and people on the political right.
"I have spent the last 14 months in Washington, and we are not advocating for our side the way that the right is advocating for theirs," said Darcy Burner, executive director of ProgressiveCongress.com at a discussion sponsored by the liberal Campaign for America's Future on Monday.
"I sit in the offices of members of Congress and listen as the phone calls come in, and there will be ten tea party phone calls to every one of ours," she said. "The right has built this infrastructure that provides information to members of Congress. We have not done enough to counter that.”
Iran's Interference Rejected
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said it would send two warships to the Mediterranean to escort ships headed for Gaza in defiance of Israel’s blockade. Israel, as expected, warned against the move, and even Hamas turned down the offer.
“We do not want any military intervention,” Hamas senior figure Jamal Al-Hadri told the London-based A-Sharq al-Awsat.
Israel said it would not allow Iranian warships to approach Israel or Gaza, just as it did 18 months ago by blocking access to Gaza. "The Iranian regime has called for Israel to be wiped off the map," an Israeli official has been quoted as saying, "and has a proven track record of supplying dangerous weapons to Hamas and Hizbullah... We cannot take a chance that there is weaponry on the ships… If we didn’t let an Irish ship reach Gaza, we are certainly not going to let Iranian ships pass.”

Israel said it would not allow Iranian warships to approach Israel or Gaza, just as it did 18 months ago by blocking access to Gaza. "The Iranian regime has called for Israel to be wiped off the map," an Israeli official has been quoted as saying, "and has a proven track record of supplying dangerous weapons to Hamas and Hizbullah... We cannot take a chance that there is weaponry on the ships… If we didn’t let an Irish ship reach Gaza, we are certainly not going to let Iranian ships pass.”

Cities Warned To Stop Cutting Out Christians
Some months ago, officials in Elk River, Minn., reversed a policy banning religious meetings at its public library at the urging of Alliance Defense Fund attorneys.
Now letters have gone out from ADF to more than 150 other government jurisdictions across the nation asking them also to correct policies that illegally target thereligious content of community activities.
"I think it's finally gotten to a head," ADF senior legal counsel Joel Oster told WND today. "The Supreme Court in 2001 in the Good News case sealed the deal on this issue. It should not be litigated any more."
But the organization explained litigation might be needed if officials don't change suspect policies in the Chambers County library in Valley, Ala.; the Carlsbad, Calif., city library system; the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes library in Old Lyme, Conn.; the Gwinnett County public library in Lawrenceville, Ga.; the Sycamore, Ill., public library; the Clinton, Ind., public library; the Nelson County public library in Bardstown, Ky.; and the Lynn, Mass., public library.
A total of 151 governmental entities that control more than 750 public facilities are receiving notice, according to the ADF.
The organization explained government officials "frequently refuse or restrict Christian churches, groups, and individuals when they attempt to reserve facilities otherwise open to the public at schools, libraries, parks, and community centers – a practice routinely determined to be unconstitutional by the courts."
"Christians shouldn't be excluded and restricted from using public meeting rooms and other facilities simply because they plan to express a Christian viewpoint," Oster said. "The Constitution prohibits the government from deciding who can and cannot use space based upon which viewpoints are being discussed during thosemeetings. Public officials can't give preferential treatment to some views over others."
He said that many times inappropriate policies – imposing illegal limits on Christian and other religious groups – have gone unchallenged, and, as a result, churches and others are prevented from discussing their faith, while secular subjects are not banned.
ADF reported that as a result of its litigation over the years, policy changes have been made that already affect more than 1,900 other public locations.

Dogs may be a little too dependent on humans to solve their problems
Dogs are now so dependent upon people that they fail certain basic intelligence tests that wolves and wild dogs ace, according to new research.
The findings provide evidence that humans, through domestication of canines, have caused dogs to lose their non-social problem-solving skills. The loss in skills appears to be "hardwired" genetically into dogs, helping to explain why homeless dogs struggle to survive.
"Often feral dogs survive by taking advantage of human leftovers or domestic livestock," lead author Bradly Philip Smith told Discovery News, adding that the "leftovers" could be things like garbage scrounged from dumps or the occasional food handouts.

Mexican Teen Killed By US Border Patrol
A U.S. Border Patrol agent fatally shot a 15-year-old Mexican boy after a group trying to illegally enter Texas threw rocks at officers near downtown El Paso, U.S. authorities said Tuesday.
The shooting, which happened Monday evening beneath a railroad bridge linking the two nations, drew sharp criticism from Mexico, where the government said Tuesday that "the use of firearms to repel attacks with stones represents disproportionate use of force, particularly coming from authorities who have received specialized training."
It was the second death of a Mexican at the hands of Border Patrol officers in less than two weeks, and the case threatened to swell into a full-blown international incident when U.S. and Mexican officials traded suggestions of misconduct.
Arturo Sandoval, a spokesman for the Chihuahua Attorney General's office, said a spent 40-mm shell was found near the body — raising the question of whether the fatal shot was fired inside Mexico, although he did not explicitly make that suggestion. That would violate the rules for Border Patrol agents, who are supposed to stay on the U.S. side of the border.
A U.S. official, meanwhile, said video shows the Border Patrol agent did not enter Mexico.
The official, who agreed to discuss the matter only if not quoted by name, said the video also shows what seem to be four Mexican law enforcement officers driving to the edge of the dry but muddy bed of the Rio Grande, walking across to the U.S. side, picking up an undetermined object and returning to Mexico near the area where the boy's body was. Like their U.S. counterparts, Mexican law officers are not authorized to cross the border without permission.
According to the FBI, Border Patrol agents were responding to a group of suspected illegal immigrants being smuggled into the U.S. near the Paso Del Norte bridge, across from Ciudad Juarez around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
One suspected illegal immigrant was detained on the levee on the U.S. side, the FBI said in a statement. Another Border Patrol agent arrived on the concrete bank where the now-dry, 33-feet (10-meter) wide Rio Grande is, and detained a second suspect. Other suspects ran back into Mexico and began throwing rocks, the FBI said.
At least one rock came from behind the agent, who was kneeling beside the suspected illegal immigrant who he had prone on the ground, FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons said.
The agent told the rock throwers to stop and back off, but they continued. The agent fired his weapon several times, hitting one who later died, said the FBI, which is leading the investigation because it involved an assault on a federal officer. The agent was not injured, Simmons said.
T.J. Bonner, president of the union representing Border Patrol agents, said rock throwing aimed at Border Patrol agents are common and capable of causing serious injury.
"It is a deadly force encounter, one that justifies the use of deadly force," Bonner said.
The violence in Mexico combined with assaults on Border Patrol agents in the U.S. has increased the level of apprehension agents have about their safety, Bonner said.

I read your blog daily and have taken note on how you things done. I have a question that maybe you could help me with. Who should I contact about dead beat fathers who own their own companies and to do claim their true income to get out of paying child support?
I have a 15 year old son who I have not gotten child support for (unless you consider 25.00 a week support) just because his father does not "make enough money".
The last time I went for predetermination they told me he was collecting food stamps and cash assistance. That is just crazy when I know for a fact he has a brand new house an Esclalade, PT Cruiser, and a dodge pick up and just bought his parents a home.
Why does the state continue to support dead beat losers like this? Why can they not go get a job at a fast food joint or something.
It is not my goal to get child support for my son it is now my mission to help other parents in the future with this problem. Do you have any suggestions who I should contact first? I can tell you contacting the Child Support Agency is a joke they will tell you "there is nothing we can do about it"

The last time I went for predetermination they told me he was collecting food stamps and cash assistance. That is just crazy when I know for a fact he has a brand new house an Esclalade, PT Cruiser, and a dodge pick up and just bought his parents a home.
Why does the state continue to support dead beat losers like this? Why can they not go get a job at a fast food joint or something.
It is not my goal to get child support for my son it is now my mission to help other parents in the future with this problem. Do you have any suggestions who I should contact first? I can tell you contacting the Child Support Agency is a joke they will tell you "there is nothing we can do about it"

First Home Series Win of the 2010 Season
Salisbury, Md. – Trailing 3-1 in the eighth inning, the Shorebirds used three hits including a two-run homer by Kieron Pope to defeat the Suns 4-3 at Perdue Stadium on Tuesday. The Shorebirds completed their first home series win of the season.
The Suns tallied runs in the second and third innings to build a 2-0 lead. Brett Newsome hit a lead-off double in the second and scored on a J.P. Ramirez single. In the third, Sandy Leon hit a single and scored later in the frame on a double by Jeff Kobernus.
The Shorebirds began the comeback in the sixth inning. Gary Helmick led off with a single and scored on a towering two-out RBI triple to the right-center field gap to cut the deficit to 2-1.
In the top of the eighth inning, the Suns added a run to build a 3-1 edge.
The Shorebirds responded in the home half of the eighth to take their first lead of the night. Ty Kelly led off with a double chopped up the right field line. Then, Brian Conley hit a single into center field to cut the deficit to 3-2. The next batter, Kieron Pope, hit a line drive homer over the left-center field wall to give the ‘Birds a 4-3 lead.
Josh Dowdy came on in the ninth inning and picked up his eighth save of the season. Brian Conley ended the game with a magnificent throw from the foul pole in right field to second base to nail J.P. Ramirez.
Nick Haughian earned the win by tossing a scoreless eighth inning. Shorebirds starter Luis Noel carried the game through the seventh inning. He surrendered eight hits and two earned runs.
The Shorebirds return to action on Thursday night against the Lexington Legends at Applebee’s Park.

Bookkeeper Embezzles Over $83,000 from Employer

Date of Occurrence: April 2009 – December 2009
Involved Parties: Amy N. Scott, 35, of Hockessin, Delaware
Resume: In April of this year, a representative from Main Light Industries, located on Newport Gap Pike, responded to Troop 2 to report an alleged internal theft.
It was learned that towards the end of 2009 and into 2010, Main Light Industries started to receive notices regarding unexplained owed monies to various businesses on unpaid balances. A records review of the company’s books revealed multiple checks were written against the business’s account between April and December of 2009. In all, the company suffered a loss of over $83,000.00.
Ultimately, it was determined former bookkeeper Amy N. Scott had written multiple checks to herself and deposited the money into her personnel bank account.
Earlier today, Ms. Scott voluntarily turned herself in to detectives at Troop 2 and was formally charged with felony Theft and six counts of felony Falsifying Business Records. She was arraigned and released on a $17,000.00 unsecured bond.

The research park is supporting up to 350 workers during construction, and will add approximately 200 additional jobs when complete.
“It’s our mission to create jobs, save jobs, and improve the conditions that allow our businesses large and small to create and save jobs,” said Governor O’Malley. “When completed, the Riverside Research Park will represent the type of job-creating, growth-sustaining, forward-moving progress that gives Maryland an edge to create jobs and compete and win in global economy. It will bring together government, private sector, non-profit, and academic researchers in common cause to discover and advances cures, treatments, and healing – saving lives while helping us advance our greatest job-creating, economic potential.”
“This facility represents a new era, in which understanding the genomic, proteomic, and altered cellular function of each individual cancer patient will drive the development of highly personalized and molecularly targeted approaches to early detection, risk reduction, and treatment of cancer,” said John E. Niederhuber, M.D., director of the National Cancer Institute. “We also believe it will bring the right people—the most talented individuals available—to work, to train, and to create tomorrow’s lifesaving therapy for all patients. This facility embodies the creation of new technologies and new knowledge, which I believe will be a foundation for the future economic drivers so desperately needed by our state and our country.”
The $250 million project will house NCI’s Biopharmaceutical Development Program’s Manufacturing Facility, Advanced Biomedical Computing Facility, and administrative offices to oversee the agency’s partnerships with industry, academia and non-profits. Owned by Matan Companies and leased by SAIC, NCI-Frederick’s contractor, NCI at Riverside Research Park will be ready for occupancy in 2011. NCI intends to move 375 current employees and contractors into the facility and add approximately 200 new positions as other research operations are moved to the site.

FOUR HOMERS FOR BAXTER: T.J. Baxter leads the ‘Birds with four home runs on the season. Last season, Baxter connected on just one home run for the Aberdeen Ironbirds in 62 games.
