RNC Calls On DNC To Address Farrakhan Ties

Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called on her Democratic National Committee counterpart, Tom Perez, Friday to address the ties DNC vice chair Keith Ellison and other members of the party have to Louis Farrakhan.

“Keith Ellison’s long pattern of lies about his ongoing relationship with Louis Farrakhan, who the Anti-Defamation League calls ‘America’s leading anti-Semite,’ has put a stain on the Democrat Party,” McDaniel said in a press release. “Anti-Semitism has no place in American politics, Tom Perez must address this issue.”

As head of the Nation of Islam, Farrakhan has a long history of making deeply anti-Semitic comments.

His ties to current elected Democrats rapidly came to light after a previously unreleased photo of Farrakhan visiting with then-Senator Barack Obama at a 2005 Congressional Black Caucus meeting surfaced in January 2018.

Documents Link Putin's 'Favorite' Oligarch and Obama Official Who Aided Author of Anti-Trump Dossier

NEW YORK — Jonathan M. Winer, the Obama State Department official who acknowledged regularly interfacing and exchanging information with the author of the largely discredited 35-page anti-Trump dossier, signed disclosure forms for his former firm to represent a Russian billionaire known as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s favorite oligarch.

The detail, being brought to light herein, may raise immediate questions about the origins of the dossier. The oligarch, Oleg Deripaska, had a reported business dispute with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, is closely tied to Putin and has long been viewed as pushing Russian national interests.

Already, there have been questions about Deripaska’s possible relationship with dossier author Christopher Steele amid reports that the billionaire may have served as a source for the dossier itself.

Also, recently leaked text messages show extensive communication between a Russia-connected lawyer and Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee. The attorney, Adam Waldman, was a paid lobbyist for Deripaska. The messages show Warner attempted to arrange a meeting with Steele through Waldman.

Susan Rice Issued NSC 'Stand Down'

Former national security advisor Susan Rice issued a stand down order to national security council officials developing aggressive options to respond to Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, a new excerpt from Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump reveals.

NSC officials were reportedly alarmed by Russia’s attempts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, including the hacking of Democratic National Committee officials’ emails, and those belonging to Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

Michael Daniel, an NSC official responsible for the Russia portfolio, told to the book’s authors of multiple plans to strike fear in Russian President Vladimir Putin with the aim of ending Russia’s election meddling. These plans included surreptitiously releasing personal information about Putin’s family, which revealed corruption in Putin’s political party, and even crafting a large cybersecurity exercise as a public threat to Russia.

Daniel additionally told the authors that when Rice caught wind of his planning, she called him and berated him.

Republican Jewish Coalition demands resignation of Democratic leaders with ties to Farrakhan

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has answered those who denounced as anti-Semitic his recent "Jews are my enemy" quote with another broadside, this time tweeting a video clip where he says "The Jews have control over those areas of government" - in referring to the FBI.

The clip featuring the latest remark was posted to Farrakhan's official Twitter account on March 7, well after the controversy erupted over the remarks made earlier, at a Chicago event on Feb. 25. Those comments brought new attention to Farrakhan's links with seven members of the Congressional Black Caucus, as well as to Women's March co-president Tamika Mallory, who attended the Farrakhan event, and posted a photo of herself with him on her Instagram feed after the speech.

The controversy sparked calls by many Republicans for Democrats to vigorously denounce Farrakhan's remarks. Others who quickly condemned Farrakhan's remarks also asked pointed questions on why much of the media was either slow to report the story, or have chosen to ignore it entirely.

One Of Georgia's Safest Cities 'Requires' Its Citizens To Own A Gun; CNN Unsure Why Crime Is So Low

When it comes to America’s response to gun crime, one Georgia town has been thinking outside the box since 1982, when its leaders passed a law requiring it citizens to own a firearm.

The Kennesaw, Georgia, law states that “every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm,”according to CNN, and was reportedly passed as a deterrent to crime.

“It was meant to be kind of a crime deterrent,” Kennesaw Police Lt. Craig Graydon, a 30-year law enforcement veteran, told CNN. “It was also more or less a political statement because the city of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed a city ordinance banning handguns from their city limits.”

"My Life Is Over": Ex-DOJ Lawyer Busted Trying To Sell Whistlelower Cases

A former corporate-fraud lawyer for the Department of Justice has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for stealing over 40 whistleblower fraud cases in 2016 and trying to sell the information to companies under federal investigation, according to prosecutors.

Jeffrey Wertkin, 40, was arrested in an undercover sting after an attorney for a Sunnyvale, CA tech company contacted the FBI in January following Wertkin's offer to sell them a sealed federal lawsuit for $310,000, according to court documents. As he was taken into custody wearing a wig and fake mustache at a Cupertino, CA hotel by FBI Special Agent William Scanlon, Wertkin reportedly said "My life is over."

Following his arrest, Wertkin engaged in an "obstruction binge" at his private law firm to destroy additional evidence of the scheme he had formulated for over a year, while also trying to frame a former colleague at the DOJ for the theft of the records.

A far more extensive and calculated crime was revealed at Wertkin's sentencing hearing - as the former DOJ prosecutor stole and copied dozens of files - some of which he swiped right off of his boss's desk, copied, and then re-stapled before returning them.

Wertkin "took grotesque advantage" of his position within the DOJ by "shaking down companies" and disclosing confidential information which "jeopardized the integrity of the civil justice system and unfairly cast a shadow over the work of the civil fraud section," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin L. Harris, who added that Wertkin's crime was "was breathtaking in its scope and is the most serious and egregious example of public corruption by a DOJ attorney in recent memory."

Wertkin worked from December 2010 to April 2016 in the department section responsible for recovering $4.7 billion in misspent tax dollars in 2016 alone. Under the False Claims Act, whistleblowers can receive part of recovered funds for tipping off fraud in government services and contracts by filing what are known as qui tam lawsuits under seal to protect their identities while the United States investigates. -MSN

Delingpole: White House Chief of Staff Kelly Just Killed Trump's Best Hope of Draining the Green Swamp

President Trump’s best hope of draining the Green Swamp has just been nixed by his Chief of Staff.

The New York Times has the bad news:

John F. Kelly, the White House chief of staff, has killed an effort by the head of the Environmental Protection Agency to stage public debates challenging climate change science, according to three people familiar with the deliberations, thwarting a plan that had intrigued President Trump even as it set off alarm bells among his top advisers.

The idea of publicly critiquing climate change on the national stage has been a notable theme for Scott Pruitt, the administrator of the E.P.A. For nearly a year he has championed the notion of holding military-style exercises known as red team, blue team debates, possibly to be broadcast live, to question the validity of climate change.

And yes – that really is bad news. In my view, it’s one of the biggest mistakes so far of Trump’s otherwise winning presidency.

It’s a betrayal of both the president’s instincts and his authority.

Make-Believe America

Americans live a never-never-land existance. The politicians and presstitutes make sure of that.

Consider something as simple as theunemployment rate. The US is said to have full employment with a January 2018 unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, down from 9.8 percent in January 2010.

However, the low rate of unemployment is contradicted by the long-term decline in the labor force participation rate. After a long rise during the Reagan 1980s, the labor force participation rate peaked in January 1990 at 66.8 percent, more or less holding to that rate for another decade until 2001 when decline set in accelerating in September 2008.

Today the labor force participation rate is the lowest since February 1978, reversing all of the gains of the Reagan years.

Dentists are dying of this deadly lung disease. The CDC can't figure out why.

Seven of the patients were dead, and two more were dying of a rare chronic, progressive lung disease that can be treated but not cured.

It's estimated that about 200,000 people in the United States have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) at any one time.

But the common denominator of a small group of patients at a Virginia clinic over a 15-year period is worrying the Centers for Disease Control: Eight were dentists; a ninth was a dental technician.

The dental professionals were 23 times more likely to have IPF than the rest of the population, the CDC said in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, released on Friday. Something in their workplace environment may have been poisoning them, investigators said, although they don't know what.

Dr. Marc Siegel: Alex Azar, the new Health and Human Services secretary, has ideas to improve your health care

Under the current system, getting information about your own health care and the care your children get can be challenging and confusing.

What’s in your medical records? How do you even get access to them? How do you understand what all the strange medical terminology means in plain English? How much do particular treatments, procedures and drugs cost? How do you make intelligent choices about dealing with your health conditions? Why can’t you be in charge of your own health care?

These questions came to my mind last Wednesday when I learned that my 13-year-old son was receiving an inadequate antibiotic for an ear infection because his medical chart wrongly listed him as having a penicillin allergy. Though both my wife and I are physicians, we didn’t have automatic access to this information.

Clorox Okay With Advertising on Show That Preaches Anti-Christian Bigotry

(CNSNews) -- The Clorox Company, a multinational American firm with more than 8,000 employees and net annual sales of $6 billion, apparently has no reservations about advertising its products on a television program that espouses anti-Christian bigotry.

"We know our selection of programs [for advertising] will not always meet with every viewer's approval, as it did not in this case for you," said Clorox in an "Executive Reply" email statement today. "But we encourage you to voice your concerns with the network."

Clorox was responding to a Media Research Center (MRC) campaign, which is calling on advertisers of ABC's The View to stop advertising on the program until co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin publicly apologize for the bigoted remarks.

On the Feb. 13 edition of ABC's The View, co-host Joy Behar described Vice President Mike Pence's Christian beliefs as a "mental illness."

How 18th century literary women took opiates to cope with life

Eighteenth-century female authors such as Mary Robinson and Sara Coleridge were as dependent on laudanum as male writers, a new study reveals.

Laudanum, an alcoholic medicine containing opium, was frequently used as a painkiller until the early 1900s.

Although once readily available, laudanum is now prescription-only in the UK and is generally limited in use to helping opioid addicts with withdrawal symptoms.

It is well known that male authors including Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Thomas De Quincey used the substance, but until now little was known about female authors using it.

Gov. Rick Scott Signs $400 Million Gun Control Bill: Includes Firearm Confiscation, Waiting Period

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) signed a “$400 million” gun control bill that includes firearms confiscation measures and waiting periods for long gun purchases.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the bill also bans bump stocks–which were not even used in the Florida school shooting–and bucks the NRA by raising the minimum purchase age for long guns from 18 years of age to 21.

Fox News reports that the gun control package also funds bullet-proof glass for schools and will allow some teachers to be armed. The bill was originally designed to allow teachers to be armed on a broader basis but had to be augmented, as Gov. Scott opposes teachers being armed for self-defense.

Attorney General Frosh Leads Coalition of State Attorneys General Opposing Trump Administration’s

Plan to Expand Drilling off America’s Coastlines

Department of Interior’s Proposed Plan Would Dramatically Expand Offshore Drilling

BALTIMORE, MD – Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh today led a coalition of 12 Attorneys General in submitting comments to the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), opposing the Outer Continental Shelf Leasing Plan that BOEM has proposed for 2019-2024. BOEM’s plan, if approved, would open the waters off the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts to new oil and gas leasing for the first time in decades.

“Maryland’s coast and the Chesapeake Bay are among our most precious natural resources,” said Attorney General Frosh. “The dangers that offshore drilling poses to our coastal environment and economy, including the Chesapeake Bay, are simply too great to accept. Instead of opening these areas to offshore drilling for fossil fuels, we should be focusing our efforts on increasing the development and use of wind, solar, and other forms of renewable energy.”

There Is No "Free Trade" - There Is Only The 'Darwinian Game Of Trade'

Rising income and wealth inequality is causally linked to globalization and the expansion of Darwinian trade and capital flows.

Stripped of lofty-sounding abstractions such as comparative advantage, trade boils down to four Darwinian goals:

1. Find foreign markets to absorb excess production, i.e. where excess production can be dumped.

2. Extract foreign resources at low prices.

3. Deny geopolitical rivals access to these resources.

4. Open foreign markets to domestic capital and credit so domestic capital can buy up all the productive assets and resources, a dynamic I explained last week in Forget "Free Trade"--It's All About Capital Flows.

All the blather about "free trade" is window dressing and propaganda. Nobody believes in risking completely free trade; to do so would be to open the doors to foreign domination of key resources, assets and markets.

Trade is all about securing advantages in a Darwinian struggle to achieve or maintain dominance. As I pointed out back in 2005, the savings accrued by consumers due to opening trade with China were estimated at $100 billion over 27 years (1978 to 2005), while corporate profits expanded by trillions of dollars.

Trump White House Declares Support for California-Style Gun Confiscation Orders

The Trump White House released policy papers Monday declaring full support for California-style firearm confiscation orders.

Breitbart News has a copy of the release and it urges states to adopt Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs). Such orders allow firearms to be confiscated with a judge’s approval.

The White House suggests that ERPOs “allow law enforcement, with approval from a court, to remove firearms from individuals who are a demonstrated threat to themselves or others and temporarily to prevent individuals from purchasing new firearms.” They stressed that the orders “should be carefully tailored to ensure the due process rights of law-abiding citizens are protected.”

California adopted similar gun confiscation laws in 2015 and Southern California Public Radio reports that 190 orders requiring confiscation were issued 2016-2017 alone.

Campa-Najjar Running For California House

Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar is running for Congress in California to unseat scandal-ridden Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter.

A San Diego native, Campa-Najjar says he wants to serve the community that helped raise him, serve his family and friends, and provide the 50th District of California a leader who is not embattled in scandal, a reference to incumbent Hunter.

Campa-Najjar supports a number of policies backed by the growing hard-left faction of the Democratic Party. He is a staunch supporter of a universal health care system, like Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ Medicare-for-Allproposal. Like Sanders, an Independent, Campa-Najjar has no solution for how to pay for a universal health care system, but still thinks it is the system of the future.

The Democratic hopeful is also up for stricter gun laws and is adamantly against the construction of a border wall along the southern U.S.-Mexico border.

James Clapper avoids charges for 'clearly erroneous' surveillance testimony

Former intelligence chief James Clapper is poised to avoid charges for allegedly lying to Congress after five years of apparent inaction by the Justice Department.

Clapper, director of national intelligence from 2010 to 2017, admitted giving “clearly erroneous” testimony about mass surveillance in March 2013, and offered differing explanations for why.

Two criminal statutes that cover lying to Congress have five-year statutes of limitations, establishing a Monday deadline to charge Clapper, who in retirement has emerged as a leading critic of President Trump.

The under-oath untruth was exposed by National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, who sparked national debate on surveillance policy with leaks to the press.

Conservative journalist denied entry to UK, purportedly over criticism of Islam

Canadian right-wing journalist and activist Lauren Southern was barred from entering the United Kingdom on Monday, purportedly over a poster she distributed about Islam in February -- making her the latest international right-wing figure to be denied entry to the U.K. after criticizing the religion.

The U.K. Home Office confirmed to Fox News that Southern was refused entry to the U.K. at the border in Calais, France on the grounds that her entry was not “conducive to the public good.”

“Border Force has the power to refuse entry to an individual if it is considered that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good,” a Home Office spokesman said in a statement. The spokesman did not offer specifics as to why her entry was refused.

Southern, speaking to Fox News from France, said that she was to visit friends in the U.K., including Tommy Robinson -- the controversial founder of the right-wing English Defense League who is also known for his fiery criticism of Islam.

Southern said she was detained for six hours at the Calais border port, had her phone taken from her as she was held in a detention center and questioned for four hours in a line of interrogation she described as “bizarre.”

“They asked me if I’m a Christian extremist, asked me how I feel about running over people with cars,” she told Fox News.

Ron Paul Institute Exposes The State Department's War On Political Dissent

The US State Department is spending millions of dollars spreading its own disinformation and propping up NGOs to destroy any individual or organization that does not toe the official US government line on the US global military empire.

Through its "Global Engagement Center," the State Department establishes in fact - in the open - what it accuses the Russian government of doing without any evidence.

Social media companies are colluding with the US government to make organizations who oppose the US global military empire disappear.

RPI's Daniel McAdams joins the Corbett Report to discuss the neocon/Washington war on dissent in America:

Warren’s ‘Native American’ problem is only going to get worse

If you had any doubt that Sen. Elizabeth Warren has her eye on the White House, it was dispelled this past weekend when she showed up on the Sunday morning talk shows to say she wasn’t running for president.

By issuing a deliberately non-Shermanesque denial, Warren signaled her strong interest in 2020. But while the former law professor has learned to speak Washington doubletalk like a native, her other tribal connections — or lack thereof — may yet trip her up.

Rather than retracting or apologizing for past assertions of Native American identity that have been refuted by genealogists and historians, the Massachusetts Democrat is doubling down on her story about being a Cherokee or a Delaware.

Fuel For The Protectionist Fire: US Trade Deficit Surges, Ex-Petroleum At All Time High

Coming at a time of heightened trade tensions and fears of an imminent trade war, for once every trader was looking at this morning's international trade report to see if it will pour more fuel on the trade war fire. It did, because according to the BEA, in January the US trade deficit surged 5% to $56.6 BN from $53.9BN in December, worse than the $55.0BN expected, and the biggest deficit going back to 2008.

In January, imports were little changed in Jan. at $257.51b from $257.51b in Dec, while exports fell 1.3% in Jan. to $200.91b from $203.61b in December.

The report came just hours after Trump once again slammed the US trade deficit, tweeting that "From Bush 1 to present, our Country has lost more than 55,000 factories, 6,000,000 manufacturing jobs and accumulated Trade Deficits of more than 12 Trillion Dollars. Last year we had a Trade Deficit of almost 800 Billion Dollars. Bad Policies & Leadership. Must WIN again!"

Whole Foods calls meeting with key vendors as tensions flare

Tensions between Whole Foods Market and some of the most important brands it sells in its stores will come to a head on March 19, when they will congregate for a recently announced summit, sources familiar with the situation tell CNBC.

The grocer notified certain vendors about the meeting by email last Saturday. It is set to reassure the brands of relations after Whole Foods' sale to Amazon. It comes after a rocky few months for the grocer, which has been trying to shift from a local orientation to a national one, without sacrificing the selection and relations that set it apart from larger peers like Kroger and Albertsons.

Some of those efforts, like its move to centralize purchases, preceded its sale to Amazon. However, any change the grocer makes is drawing more scrutiny amid the uncertainty following Amazon's acquisition.

Meantime, Whole Foods' limited communication about the status of these changes has been a point of frustration, according to multiple vendors that spoke to CNBC.

A major point of debate for its larger vendors is the new servicing fee, proposed in the last few months, which will charge vendors for Whole Foods' efforts to centralize its merchandising, sources said. Still, some of the sources noted their reliance on Whole Foods as a customer gives them little power with which to bargain.

AFL-CIO, United Steel Workers Praise Trump for Tariffs They Couldn’t Get Dems to Impose

Two major union leaders praised President Donald Trump for imposing steel tariffs that they’ve been trying – unsuccessfully - “for decades” to get from Democrats. Both United Steel Workers President Leo Gerard and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka took to MSNBC Wednesday to tout the tariffs and deride the Democrats.

"What he did is what we’ve been fighting for for more than 30 years," Gerard said. "What makes me sad is we’ve been trying to get Democrats to do this for more than 30 years." "Donald Trump was able to see the steel worker agenda," Gerard said, adding that "It’s going to make it very hard for our members to ignore what he just did."

"We’ve been advocating for the use of tariffs to make sure that cheaters stop cheating for over a decade right now," Trumka said in his appearance.

Disney Tries to Scrub Christianity From Existence in New Blockbuster, Pays a Big Price

When even liberals are complaining that Christianity’s been stripped out, there’s a real problem.

But that’s exactly the reception that the bloated Oprah Winfrey vehicle “A Wrinkle in Time” is getting as it opens in theaters across the nation.

And that abandonment of Christianity might turn out to be a bloated, expensive mistake for The Walt Disney Company, considering the $100 million they sunk into the project.

With Oprah lending her megastar wattage to publicity for the movie (including an interview with Stephen Colbert virtually designed to offend Christians), “A Wrinkle in Time” was generating buzz long before it actually opened in theaters. Unfortunately for the company that bankrolled the movie, a good deal of the buzz was bad.

Very bad.

PG Co. Teachers blindsided by graphic Columbine video in training session

Teachers at a Prince George’s County school were blindsided last week by being shown unawares graphic footage of the Columbine High School shooting massacre.

The lockdown-training session took place Friday at Laurel High School, according to a Monday report on TV station WRC-4 in Washington.

The session prompted several teachers, speaking to the NBC affiliate on condition of anonymity, to complain to their bosses, prompting a letter of apology.

“The assailants were taunting the kids to get the kids to get up and run, and when the kids ran away, the assailants were shooting them,” a teacher described the video, which was shown less than a month after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida left 17 dead.

After some internal blowback, Principal Dwayne Jones sent a note to the school faculty apologizing “to anyone who felt unnerved, distraught, disturbed or bothered.”

“It was not our aim to upset or intimidate anyone, especially with the graphic video from the Columbine High School mass shooting. However, the goal was to hopefully get everyone in the mindset that situations like Columbine and other school shootings are prevalent and relevant in our society today and that the safety of all should be the number one goal for all of us,” he said.

He added that the PG County district may show it to staff at other schools.

Man killed in Baltimore on Saturday was driving in funeral procession

A man killed Saturday in West Baltimore’s Penrose neighborhood was driving in a funeral procession when he was shot in his car, Baltimore police confirmed Monday.

Dannta Holmes, 39, of the 1500 block of Shields Place, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 300 block of N. Monroe St. by officers who heard the gunfire while on patrol, said Detective Jeremy Silbert.

Holmes was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation revealed suspects had approached the vehicle and opened fire before fleeing, Silbert said.

Another shooting, in which a 30-year-old man was wounded, occurred in Penrose on Wednesday.

Baltimore police also identified on Monday two other men killed a day apart in the same neighborhood late last week.

Who's Worse, Kids Or Parents?

This morning we published a true story about a student at Pittsville Middle School student making a threat to shoot up the school today.

Once the school learned of this threat the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office immediately investigated the threat and went to the students home. The student has been disciplined and was NOT allowed to attend school today.

That being said, parents decided, (through rumors) to get on Facebook and Twitter to say there was a student with a gun in Pittsville Middle School, which was NOT TRUE.

You have to wonder who's worse, the parents or the student. I have confirmed through the BOE that the student never made it to school today. Now mind you, it took until enough Parents calling the BOE before they decided to contact me with the confirmation.

All that being said, let's THINK about what we have ALL participated in today. Should I, as a major news source, keep something like this quiet? What if something were to happen and I was waiting around to get a confirmation??? As I had expressed to my contact at the BOE, we'd usually get the first tip on situations like this and I would call the BOE to get a confirmation and I was told they'd get back to me. Then I'd read on the Daily Times the confirmation on a story the Daily Times had not been tipped off on.

At this time I can say I now have what I believe, (after the story this morning) to be a reliable contact at the BOE. Unfortunately we have the same problem with the Salisbury Police Department and the Sheriff's Office.

So to my readers, know that what we published was in fact true. When we REPUBLISHED something that had been placed on another social media site, it proved to not be true, hence this current article.

Finally, it sure would have been nice to have received a press release, (LAST NIGHT) from the WCSO and the BOE AHEAD of what has now been proven to be another Social Media Panic. They were very aware of the situation and since social media has been around for over a decade one would think they could be more PROACTIVE on situations like this, especially after what happened recently in Florida.

Cold, hard cash ain't dead yet..

Cash isn’t dead yet. Far from it.

These days you can pay for stuff or send money with newfangled “electronic” services such as PayPal and Venmo, fall back or traditional credit cards, cut an old-fashioned check or take your chances with Bitcoin.

Even with all these new options, however, the demand for cash “remains robust around the world” and it’s even increasing, according to a new study.

Although the use of electronic payments has grown more rapidly since 2000, the amount of cash in circulation among the world’s wealthier countries has increase about 7% to 9%, the Bank for International Settlements found.

The use of cash has risen in most countries except in the Nordic region — Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Cash in circulation in Japan, for instance, is 10 times as large as it is in Sweden after accounting for the different sizes of their economies.

Japan and Hong Kong have posted the biggest increases in the use of cash since 2000.

“Cash in circulation is, in fact, not dropping for most countries," the study’s authors wrote.

Why is cash still royalty among the various forms of currency?

Iron Eyes Lizzy Is 'Not Running' for President

We’ve long teased Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren over her tenuous claims of Native American ancestry, calling her Sacaja-Warren and Fauxcahontas. Well, here’s a new one that may fit best of all: Iron Eyes Lizzy.

Readers of a certain age will recall Iron Eyes Cody, the actor known for portraying Native Americans in numerous Hollywood films, as well as shedding a tear in one of the country’s most well-known television public service announcements, “Keep America Beautiful.” Well, Ole Iron Eyes was actually Espera Oscar de Corti, an Italian-American pretending to be an Indian — not just in commercials and movies but in real life. His ruse lasted until his half-sister outed him decades later, though he lied about it so long he may have actually convinced himself he was Indian.

So you can see why that behavior fits Warren quite well. As we’ve noted, Warren has used this supposed ancestry for gain in both her academic and political careers. That continues to this day.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Texas Secretary of State’s office has sent a letter to Dallas-area notary Erica Jackson notifying her that there was “good cause” to take action against her notary commission.

Officials say Jackson’s stamp appeared on the document but she did not sign or date it, and she did not provide a certificate of whose signature she was witnessing.

ICE removal key goal of Democrats in 2020 election

The Democrats mulling a run for the White House in 2020 are facing intense pressure from liberals to campaign on abolishing the agency that enforces federal immigration laws, a proposal that was once relegated to the far-left fringe.

In protesting the Trump administration’s policies toward illegal immigration, liberal commentators and writers have been embracing the idea of gutting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, which identifies, arrests and deports illegal immigrants inside the United States.

“This is a growing position on the left, and I imagine 2020 Democratic presidential aspirants will have to grapple with it,” liberal writer and MSNBC host Chris Hayes tweeted.

Expert: Erdogan Regime Considers Christians, Jews ‘Enemies of the State’

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s authoritarian government has deemed members of religious minorities, such as Christians and Jews, “enemies of the state,” an analyst tells Breitbart News, echoing the U.S. State Department.

“The religious minorities in Turkey, like the Christians, Jews, and a few others, suffer from unequal treatment. … The religious minorities are believed to be enemies of the state,” Dr. Y. Alp Aslandogan, the executive director of the Alliance for Shared Values, a non-profit group that promotes bringing people from different backgrounds together, told Breitbart News. “So the association with them becomes a crime. So those religious minorities, those citizens themselves, are pushed into enemy status.”

A restaurant is charging white customers more to highlight racial wealth inequality

A restaurant in New Orleans is hoping to raise awareness of racial wealth differences in the country by charging white customers more.

SAARTJ is a pop-up restaurant in the Louisiana city run by local Nigerian chef Tunde Wey who will be charging white customers $18 (£13) extra for their meal.

Much like the cafe in Melbourne, Australia which charged a 'man-tax' due to the gender pay gap, SAARTJ is charging an increase to highlight the racial pay gap in New Orleans.

In 2013, a study found that the average household income of an African-American in the city was 54 per cent lower than that of a white person.

The photos were released today on the 100th anniversary of the epidemic which swept across the world while it was still reeling from the First World War.
