Honesty And Integrity In Our Election

Thank you for reading my email this afternoon. I am writing today to offer the details and clarity that I can to the reports that have emerged concerning the investigation into election fraud in the Salisbury mayoral race.

On Saturday, I was walking the neighborhoods of North Camden with city council candidate Cynthia Polk and former councilwoman Von Siggers, talking with voters and listening to their concerns. Don Rush, a radio journalist from WSCL, the Salisbury University public radio station, was with us, carrying his tape recorder and displaying his press pass as he collected sound and quotes for a story on the election. Mr. Rush of WSCL is not a part of our campaign, he is a professional journalist who was there working on a story about the election.

At one North Camden rental property, I was given information by three residents living in a rental property that deeply disturbed me. The other members of my group heard the conversation, and we decided this information must be taken to law enforcement. After meeting with the campaign’s attorney, we sent an e-mail on Saturday afternoon to Davis Ruark, Wicomico County State’s Attorney. We did not release this information to anyone else – not the media, not supporters, no one. Our first priority was to inform law enforcement what we had heard and let the appropriate law enforcement officials decide what to do with that information.

This campaign is the source of the initial details that led to this investigation. Let me be clear – we made the first call to law enforcement. Rumors of vote buying and voter intimidation have been rampant for weeks. But only when I heard from citizens myself, and had concrete details, did we approach law enforcement. The integrity and privacy of people’s right to vote their conscience is the basis of electoral democracy. It is 2009, not 1909 with ward bosses delivering votes for chosen candidates. I will not let any special interest group in this city silence or coerce this city’s voters.

My opponent is attempting to muddy the waters of this investigation with baseless and ridiculous charges of wire-tapping, due to the presence of Mr. Rush accompanying our group. Mr. Rush is an independent radio journalist, employed by Salisbury University, who was wearing press credentials and carrying a tape recorder with a plainly visible microphone on a public side walk. If you have questions about whether that’s wiretapping, I’d suggest you contact WSCL at Salisbury University and ask them.

Let me be clear – the sanctity and privacy of the voting process is the heart of our democracy. And when we found possible evidence that election fraud may be occurring in this election, we informed the State’s Attorney. We will cooperate with the investigation in any way we can.

If we cannot guarantee a freely-cast secret ballot, we no longer have the democracy described in our Constitution. We will have returned to the days of ward bosses and political machines. The subsequent allegation by my opponent of equating a radio reporter with wiretapping were made only after the investigation had already started. This campaign has never, and will never, engage in any practice to mislead or coerce voters in this city. One election is not worth selling the soul of this city’s integrity.

Due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, I cannot answer specific questions concerning individuals who may yet be questioned by law enforcement. The integrity of this investigation must be maintained, as these charges are serious. I sincerely hope this situation is investigated thoroughly, and if any individual is found to have violated election law, that they are prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.

So one week from an election, Salisbury voters are not talking about crime, neighborhoods and the health of our river. Everything is being done to divert attention from the issues that residents worry about. I will continue to walk to your door and discuss these things with you – it is my promise, it is what Salisbury deserves.

Biden Daughter Cocaine Video Was a Setup

The video purporting to show Vice President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley snorting cocaine was preplanned by a man trying to get rich selling the tape, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

The man, who is apparently a friend of Ashley's, even bought the cocaine and the hidden camera, our investigation has uncovered.

RadarOnline.com viewed the tape but did not offer to purchase it. The man who made the tape shopped it to several media outlets but did not receive any written offers.

The seller had planned to get the woman alleged to be Ashley on tape doing drugs for at least three weeks. The tape was shot this year.

The lawyer representing the anonymous seller peddling the videotape has pulled out, entertainment RadarOnline.com said Sunday.

Several media outlets had reported that the seller, who is seeking $250,000 for the tape, was represented by Thomas Dunlap, of the Washington, D.C., law firm of Dunlap, Grubb and Weaver.

RadarOnline reported that Dunlap dropped the video's seller as a client, due to circumstances related to the way the videotape was being publicized.

A Thing Of Beauty

Gary Comegys & The SHA

Notice the yellow spot above in-between houses. That would be Comegys SHA vehicle hidden behind his home and in the cemetery.

There has been much talk going on around town recently as to why Gary Comegys put in for retirement with the State Highway Administration, (SHA).
It has been reported that an Auditor came into their Office and started reviewing the books as sources also say Contractors were being paid off before their work was completed. That's a big No-No with the State.
I personally spoke with Gary moments ago and he says none of this is true. In fact Gary's final day with the SHA was yesterday after 35 years and he stated he left on "good standings."
First of all let me say that ANYONE who has been on the job for 35 years deserves to be recognized and I certainly tip my hat to Mr. Comegys. I may not agree with his beliefs and politics but you can't take away the credit he deserves for sticking with a job for so long and dedicating himself to that company.
The rumors need to end unless someone can come up with some concrete evidence proving different. I'm also told Mr. Drewer is still working at the SHA as well, he was not fired, per Mr. Comegys statement to me today. Enjoy your retirement in good health Gary.

Voter Intimidation, Voter Bribery Or Attempted Voter Bribery And Violations Of Maryland's Wiretap Statues

There has been much talk going around through the MSM about Voter Intimidation, Voter Bribery or Attempted Voter Bribery and Violations of Maryland's Wiretap Statues. I have received numerous calls and e-mail messages about it and while I have known pretty much what's been going on, I have been tied up with some other personal matters keeping me from this issue.

Nevertheless, here's the scoop. It turns out that while the Ireton Camp was walking around knocking on doors, Don Rush, (Radio Show Host) was interviewing people on the street. Sources say they came upon three tenants who were willing to do an interview. It was reported during that interview sources say one tenant stated he had allegedly been offered a 40% discount on his rent if he voted for Gary Comegys. The tenant stated, "you just missed the landlord who was here and made that offer." Nevertheless, the tape was brought into the States Attorney's Office for review.

The next was the Comegys Campaign complaining about Wiretapping. Well, here's the twist. It's been reported, (I don't know the true facts on this one but this is what I was told) one of the Comegys people, (sources say a landlord) reportedly called and left a very defaming message on someone's answering machine. When the Ireton people spoke to the person who had the recording on tape, that person stated he had already deleted the recording. He recognized the landlord but without evidence nothing could be done.

Oh, as far as the reported Intimidation, I heard that had to do with my Post stating I might go around and take pictures of Yard Signs. Of course that was thrown out because I have every right to do so.

Anyhow, I hear Jim Ireton is going to be holding a Press Conference at 4:30 today but I have not received the details from the Ireton people as of yet.

U.S. Private Sector Axes 742,000 Jobs In March

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Job losses in the U.S. private sector accelerated in March, more than economists' expectations, according to a report by ADP Employer Services on Wednesday.
Private employers cut jobs by a record 742,000 in March versus a 706,000 revised cut in February that was originally reported at 697,000 jobs, said ADP, which has been carrying out the survey since 2001.

The big drop foreshadows a huge decline in the non-farm payroll reading in the government's employment report that will be released on Friday, some analysts said.

"It's a terrible number. It is almost a loss of three quarters of a million jobs which is possibly the highest we have seen so far over the length of this crisis," said Matt Esteve, foreign exchange trader with Tempus Consulting in Washington.

Another Home Depot Scam

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers. This one caught me by surprise.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping.

Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts.

It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds.

You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen October 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th & 29th. Also N ovember 1st & 4th, Twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 30th, three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

So tell your friends to be careful.

P.S. Walmart has wallets on sale for 2.99 each~~I found cheaper ones for $1.99 at K-Mart and bought them out. Also, you never will get to eat at McDonalds. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth to Home Depot.

Maryland Man Dies In Bridgeville Fatal Crash

Bridgeville – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred last evening at approximately 8:54 pm on US 404 approximately 1 mile north of SR 16, west of Bridgeville.

Investigators learned a 1896 Mercedes RD, operated by Ravi C. Ganesh, 66 of Hyattsville, MD was traveling east on US 404 approximately 1 mile west of the intersection with SR 16.

A 2000 Toyota 4-Runner, operated by Alexander Gardiner, 56 of Thurmont, MD was traveling west on 404 approaching the Mercedes. For an unknown reason the Toyota drifted across the center line of the road and crossed into the oncoming path of the Mercedes. Both vehicles collided head on in the east bound lane of travel.

Following the collision the Mercedes caught fire but emergency crews were able to extricate Mr. Ganesh before the vehicle was engulfed. However, Mr. Ganesh died on the scene as a result of the injuries he received from the initial crash.

Mr. Gardiner was treated and released from Milford Memorial Hospital for bruising to the chest as well as neck and back strain. Seatbelts were worn by both operators and alcohol is not a factor.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are expected to levied against Mr. Gardiner. The roadway was closed for 2 ½ hours as investigators examined the crash scene.

Seven Degrees Of Blondes

FIRST DEGREE
A married couple was asleep when the phone rang at 2 in the morning. The very blonde wife picked up the phone, listened a moment, and said 'How should I know, that's 200 miles from here!' and hung up. The husband said, 'Who was that?'

The wife answered, 'I don't know, some woman wanting to know if the coast is clear.'

SECOND DEGREE
Two blondes are walking down the street. One notices a compact on the sidewalk and leans down to pick it up. She opens it, looks in the mirror and says, 'Hmm, this person looks familiar.'

The second blonde says, 'Here, let me see!'

So, the first blonde hands her the compact.

The second blonde looks in the mirror and says, 'You dummy, it's me!'

THIRD DEGREE
A blonde suspects her boyfriend of cheating on her, so she goes out and buys a gun. She goes to his apartment unexpectedly and when she opens the door she finds him in the arms of a redhead. Well, the blonde is really angry. She opens her purse to take out the gun, and as she does so, she is overcome with grief. She takes the gun and puts it to her head.

The boyfriend yells, 'No, honey, don't do it!!!'

The blonde replies, 'Shut up, you're next!'

FOURTH DEGREE
A blonde was bragging about her knowledge of state capitals. She proudly says, 'Go ahead, ask me..... I know 'em all.'

A friend says, 'OK, what's the capital of Wisconsin ?'

The blonde replies, 'Oh, that's easy. Its W.'

FIFTH DEGREE
Q: What did the blonde ask her doctor when he told her she was pregnant?
A: 'Is it mine?'

SIXTH DEGREE
Bambi, a blonde in her fourth year as a UCLA Freshman, sat in her US Government class. The professor asked Bambi if she knew what Roe vs. Wade was about.

Bambi pondered the question; then, finally, said, 'That was the decision George Washington had to make before he crossed theDelaware .'

SEVENTH DEGREE
Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime. The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit, patrolling nearby, was the first to respond.

As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps. Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, 'I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND COP!'

Derivative Markets Explained

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers - most of whom are unemployed alcoholics - to drink now but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's drink now pay later marketing strategy and as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar and soon she has the largest sale volume for any bar in Detroit.

By providing her customers' freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Her sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes these customer debts as valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit.

He sees no reason for undue concern since he has the debts of the alcoholics as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS.

These securities are then traded on security markets worldwide. Naive investors don't really understand the securities being sold to them as AAA secured bonds are really the debts of unemployed alcoholics.

Nevertheless, their prices continuously climb, and the securities become the top-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses.

One day, although the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the bank (subsequently fired due his negativity), decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar.

Heidi demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed they cannot pay back their drinking debts. Therefore, Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations and claims bankruptcy.

DRINKBOND and ALKIBOND drop in price by 90%. PUKEBOND performs better, stabilizing in price after dropping by 80%. The decreased bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans.

The suppliers of Heidi's bar, having granted her generous payment extensions and having invested in the securities are faced with writing off her debt and losing over 80% on her bonds. Her wine supplier claims bankruptcy, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 50 workers.

The bank and brokerage houses are saved by the Government following dramatic round-the-clock negotiations by leaders from both political parties. The funds required for this bailout are obtained by a tax levied on employed middle-class non-drinkers.

The World’s Worst Commute

Think your commute is tough? Well, consider what the residents of Los Pinos, Colombia do every day to get to work and school.

Because their remote village is in the mountains, “commuters” have to use a zip line cable to get across a 1,200-foot-deep gorge. And each one has to bring his or her own pulley, rope, and a piece of wood to act as a brake when they get to the other side.

The alternative is a two-hour hike around the gorge.

OCEAN CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER BANNING TAKEHOME VEHICLES

Could some of the Ocean City Council members be reading SBYnews also? Maybe that is why they are currently giving consideration to prohibiting their employees to take-home City vehicles.

This photograph was taken at the Gordy Tiger Mart in Salisbury, Autumn Terrace.

It's not the first time I've seen this municipal vehicle being driven everyday from Salisbury to Ocean City by one of Ocean City's employees. I saw him again just this morning.

I'll tell you something else, there are many Maryland State Highway personnel that also use their State issued vehicles for conducting private business. You've already previously seen some of these photos on SBYnews.
