Is Comegys Rubbing Off On Everyone Else Now?

Someone called the Police from north Walmart that someone had parked on yellow line with no handicapped plaque or tags. A friend went over and snapped this picture before the Police arrived.

He saw a guy sitting out front so he pulled up and asked him if he had called the Police? He said, yes. He then said, well i just took a picture and then asked him if he read Salisbury News? He said, hell yea!! I said well when i get home I'll send this to Joe. Hence the photo and article.

Pocomoke Police Chiefs Contract Expires Mayor & Council REFUSE to Take Action as Promised

As the final days of Police Chief Ervins employment contract draw to a close June 30th, I just gotta wonder; what's going to happen? His contract was written at the 11'th hour on the eve of the 2005 municipal election where a change in adminsitration was imminent. The newly elected Mayor promised to get rid of the chief for negligence & incompetence back in 2005 - 2006 but now embraces him as a fellow "Boss Hogg" buddy and partner in crime... It gets better read on.

Page 1 Boss Hogg Employment Contract

Will the Chief retire?

Will he be replaced?

Page 2 Boss Hogg Employment Contract

Will he stay on and continue as if it's not over?

For those of you who don't know, or don't remember... Fearing for his job and the job of Chief of Police, on the eve of the 2005 Mayoral election, City Manager Russ Blake, the night before Mayor McDermott was elected to his first term in office, called an off the record emergency meeting of the Mayor and Council. He called them together to write a 3-year 3-month, employment contract for himself and the Chief, that stated they could not be fired for any reason except some sort of grievous action.

Page 3 Boss Hogg Employment Contract

It also gave them both significant monetary compensation, tons of perc's such as car and housing allowances. Wardrobe, travel, and continuing education allowances not to mention the great medical plan.

Page 4 Boss Hogg Employment Contract

But the best part of both of the contracts was the part that made the City liable for either man's entire contract amount in 'one' lump sum if they were dismissed. Talk about good work if you can get it, heck I don't blame J.D. for accepting it! Russ Blake "King Boss Hogg" of Pocomoke wrote himself & the Chief a sweetheart of an employment contract.

According to the Mayor these were the 'First' employment contracts ever written and adopted by the city for any employee.

Page 5 Boss Hogg Employment Contract

These contracts were signed without ANY negotiation in full agreement to their specifications by the entire city council & Mayor.

Why did "Boss Hogg" think that this action was so important? Because he thought that heads were going to roll at city hall, just as every single person who voted for Michael McDermott believed would happen. But the new Mayor wimped out and backed down when he could have terminated Russ Blake "for cause" (self-dealing) and he is now owned by the King of Pocomoke.

In most communities this type of contract writing for your self would be called 'Self-Dealing' and cause for immediate termination, for cause without any benefits or notice. In other words its criminal, against the law, immoral and wrong. Unless you are talking about Pocomoke City Maryland.

When confronted on the issue of these illlegal and immoral contracts City Manager "Boss Hogg" Russ Blake 'verbally' rescinded his, the Chief did not. (Billy has FOIA'd the original contract TWICE and has yet to have been provided with it, as the Mayor told him "no one can find it at City Hall")

Mayor Michael McDermott assured those who were concerned that "Russ was only going to be here for another couple of years. He wants to retire soon". "And the Chief will just ride out his contract to it's end and then he'll be gone".... So, now here we are at the twilight of the Chiefs contract and we haven't heard a word about what is to become of Chief Ervin.

We have numerous e-mails from the Mayor (2005 - 2006 era) telling us to "calm down" we will get rid of the chief and be done with his "incompetence" when his contract expires.

The Agenda for Monday Nights Meeting has been posted, nothing about hiring a new Chief of Police and one of the councilmen told me "off the record" that there has been no mention of replacement.

If you want to buy some refreshing crack cocaine, c'mon down to Pocomoke City and drive up Fourth Street, you will be able to score right in front of X-Councilman Canes "business" and not worry about the cops. You see with the open corruption at City Hall they also have "politically protected drug dealers" that the Mayor wanted to get rid of 3-years & 3-months ago but now.

It's Pocomoke...

Another Anti Albero Blogger Calls It Quits

After stealing material and photos from me, I had to send this Blogger nastygrams threatening him to stop stealing my photos or I'd sue him. Over the weekend a friend menioned I was one of the top 10 people this guy hated in the World. What an honor. I mean there were some pretty serious political people on that list but he has since removed that Post I'm sure in fear of retrobution. My point however was, I hadn't been to his Site till yesterday in about a year. Certainly not an influential Blog, that's for sure.

Anyway, here's bits and piece of his departure:

"Friends,

I have decided to take a hiatus from this blog." Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!

"Lately, this venture hasn't been as much fun as when I originally started." In other words, he had no hits and his Blog sucked anyway.

"Make no mistake, no one intimidated me away from here." Yeah, RIGHT!

ROTFLMAO! AMF!

Why Is Joe Frazier Using A Walker At 64 Years Of Age?

At first I wasn't going to show this photo because I didn't want to leave a lasting impression on so many thousands of people viewing this Site each day.

However, once I learned from Joe why he was in fact using the walker I felt it was important to share what I thought was the greatest story of all the ones we shared together that day.

You see, Joe Frazier recently had back surgery and that was the only reason why he was using a walker. So why would Joe Albero Post this picture? Because I want it to be a forever lasting memory in your mind, allow me to explain.

In a private conversation I learned that Joe Frazier and another former Heavyweight Champion of the World were actually best friends. Over time, managers had pretty much screwed Joe Frazier out of the money he had made but another Fighter never forgot how special Joe Frazier is/was and his name is Larry Holmes.

Once Larry had learned Joe Frazier had some very serious back problems, Larry Holmes sent him to the very best Doctors and paid for 100% of his medical bills, including his surgery.

Joe said Larry Holmes told him, "If Larry Holmes has $4.00 to his name, Joe Frazier has $2.00 of it." So when you think back and remember seeing Joe Frazier using a walker, remember that another one of the greatest fighters on Earth, (Larry Holmes) was a part of making Joe Frazier's life that much better.

Looks like more growth about to be paid for by the taxpayers of the city. Then of course the change to Louises council rules of order, that she never follows. Another effort to keep the citizenry in the dark about any and everything going on in the city. Just call us MUSHROOMS. If you can make it, PLEASE do.

Nice of the council president and her sad excuse of a majority to schedule this meeting KNOWING, in advance, Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen both had previous commitments.

For One Night, Layton Moore Wasn't #1 In Seacrets

When I first went to the Delmar Auto Outlet to meet Joe Frazier, who would have known I would run into some very old friends from Annapolis? I hadn't seen some of the Guys for about 10 years and it was like we never missed a beat once we recognized one and other. Bobby, it was GREAT to see you and the Boys once again.

Nevertheless, I was invited to join everyone that evening in Ocean City and I have to tell you, it was a blast. We reminisced about old times and had a ton of laughs. Layton provided us with a very nice and quiet section on the second floor while every so often he would pop out of his exclusive third floor balcony and wave to the Little People, LOL.

Joe Frazier was amazed at the facility/Bar called Seacrets. They had gone to Fresco's earlier for dinner and stayed at a Condo in Ocean City that evening till they went back to Philly. Yes, this was exclusive coverage for Salisbury News.

Cell Phones, Cameras, Anything For A Shot Of Joe Frazier

Fans were snapping away shots like there was no tomorrow. Again, thanks to the Delmar Auto Outlet, this Group made dreams come true and quite frankly, Joe Frazier shook hands with every single one of them and treated them as if he had known them all for years. He's a perfect gentleman!

Get A Good Look At Frazier's Face!

Click on this image to enlarge!

One fan thought he could take on this former Heavyweight Champion of the World but as soon as his fist went out, Joe Frazier thought, I'm gonna hurt this guy and like it!

Frazier VS. Foreman?

Now Folks, I have a great story to tell here. You see the guy to the right, his name is George. Now even though he looks just like George Foreman, he's not. George lives directly across the street from the Delmar Auto Outlet and while we were standing around taking pictures and watching fans come through the door to meet Joe Frazier, George was sitting on a couch inside enjoying the air conditioning when a woman walked up to him and said, "I just love your Grill, George."

Well, everyone in the place started cracking up because we knew this wasn't George Foreman. The lady stood there and said, what's so funny? Someone responded, that's NOT George Foreman! She instantly replied, George WHO? The guy responded again and said, that's not George Foreman. She said, who's George Foreman?

Well, all of a sudden everyone got real quiet in disbelief and she said, this is my neighbor George and I was just trying to tell him that I love his new Grill on his back deck!

You talk about FUNNY! That was a classic, I don't care who you are! Nevertheless, I had to get this shot of these two together.

Delmar Auto Outlet

On the left is Mr. Leslie Wolff, Joe Frazier's Marketing Manager and friend. To the right is Owner/General Manager Michael DiGennaro of the Delmar Auto Outlet on Rt. 13.

Mr. DiGennaro was kind enough to bring Joe Frazier all the way to Delmar, Maryland for their Grand Opening this past weekend.

One of the coolest parts about Joe Frazier was the fact that he was supposed to arrive and get started at 12:00 and go till 4:00 PM. However, he arrived at 10:45 AM, (early) and stayed signing autographs till 4:30 PM and wouldn't stop till the last fan got an autograph.

Living in New York City for as many years as I did, I got the chance to meet a lot of Celebrities. I'll never forget standing outside a building on 6th Avenue and the next thing I knew Howard Cosell was leaning up against a limousine smoking a cigarette. I just had to walk up to him and say hello.

He threw me for a double take because I knew I had recognized the face but the rest of him was a mess. Haunched back and a pot belly, who would have known. He was also getting up there in years but when I was a kid, Boxing was as big as Football and Baseball and Howard was the man, back in the day.

I've never had to fortune of meeting Mohammad Ali but as often as he was televised he was a household name, just like Frazier. So to get to meet this living legend was a treat, (like I said earlier) I'll never forget in my lifetime.

For what it's worth, when I owned a chain of Billiard Rooms, once a year I'd bring in Celebrities like Ewa Mataya, Mike Sigel, Nick Varner and the likes of such. It was always a treat seeing people interact with these incredible Pool Players and bring them to a small town USA, like Michael just did for Delmar.

Hopefully you were able to be a part of this event as literally thousands of people lined around the building for hours just to get the chance to meet the former Heavyweight Champion of the World.

More posts on this event will follow. I simply wanted to thank Mr. DiGennaro for putting Delmar on the map, even if it was only for a day. By the way, they have one heck of a selection of vehicles should you be in the market for a good Used Car/Truck.

Mediate, Woods in 18 Hole Playoff for US Open Title

Tune into ESPN to follow a 18 hole playoff as Tiger Woods birdied the last hole of regulation to force this playoff against Rocco Mediate. Woods is coming off knee surgery who barely played before this tournament and has been in great pain this weekend. It's #1 vs. #158.

The coverage has switched to NBC from ESPN.

Two Years Ago Today At The Salisbury Zoo

While ducks continued to get mauled at the Salisbury Zoo, it was around this date when Director Jim Rapp had finally had enough BAD PRESS and they finally set out a trap to catch the Raccoon that was killing a multitude of animals at the Zoo.

I stand corrected. I just relocated additional photos showing even more ducks mauled after this one, so it went on for weeks before Rapp did anything about it.

Mayor Tilghman To Hold Press Conference Tomorrow

It looks like Barrie Tilghman is up to something tomorrow but no one knows exactly what? She'll be holding a Press Conference in front of 432 & 434 E. Church Street at 3:00 PM but like I said, no one knows why. That's certain to bring in the Press, NOT! My guess is it will be a flop because if you're not going to inform everyone why they're supposed to be there, more than likely no one will show. I may just go to see if anyone does in fact show up?

The above photo shows Barrie chewing the skin off her fingers. Do you think I make her nervous?

Shanies Message to the Taxpayers and SPD

I don't pretend to know everything, what I do know is this woman needs to, immediately have her head examined. Are the rumors true? Did she move outside the city limits? They must be true. What other reason would there be to make a statement such as this? Listen as Debbie Campbell all but begs for additional safety personnel. Crime is Under Control

A Day I'll Never Forget For As Long As I Shall Live

Although I went down on one knee to get this shot with Joe Frazier, I was up before the standing 8-count, LOL.

I will have an additional Post about this event today as I got to spend some additional time with Smokin Joe Frazier in Ocean City as well. The stories will be well worth the wait.

SPD Wives Outraged

If you haven't been following the Posts about Lynn Cathcart and her outburst EarlsSister posted yesterday, you haven't seen the SPD Wives going off about broken promises. There has also been talk from my other Post referencing Brotherhood and the lack of Officers being able to respond to back up one of their own at a scene where gun shots were fired recently.

GO HERE to see one of the posts and click on comments. GO HERE for another article. GO HERE for the Brotherhood article.

I find it important for everyone to see that the Officers and their Wives are fed up. I have spoken to numerous Officers who have had it up to their eyeballs. Promises have been broken and the raises they were supposed to get have been taken away.

Look, I have said it in the past and I'll continue to say it now and in the future, their leader Chief Webster SUCKS as a leader and the mere fact that he bows down under pressure and doesn't fight for his men and women is pitiful! He's in it for his own paycheck and if the WCSO had LEOPS I can guarantee you almost every SPD Officer would walk in a New York Second!

More importantly, remember Comegys, Dunn, Cathcart and Shields going off when the Developer reimbursements came into play and Campbell stated it was in the contract that they did NOT have to pay them unless the City was financially secure? They ALL went off saying, what does that say about the City doing business with Developers if we don't pay them?

Well A-Holes, what does it say when you agree to pay the Police and Firefighters and you turn your backs on that agreement? Here's my biggest question. What does it say to YOU taxpayers when you voted for Comegys and not Spies? Remember that because the Firefighters stood behind a real man who would have taken a bullet for these guys while Comegys would have thrown Campbell in front of the bullet coming his way, so to speak. I didn't park in a Handicap Zone, right Officers? Is Comegys telling the truth or is he lying?

It's time to remove these people come the next election. It's time to MAKE Comegys SUFFER having to sit the rest of his term on Council being voted down 3-2 as well as Louise Smith. How much do you want to bet the Police and Firefighters will support the Candidates Cohen and Campbell support?

Youth Mentor Group in Princess Anne Making An Impact

The Gentlemans Club, not to be confused with "that" establishment, has chartered in Princess Anne. Targeting at risk males of any race and background, especially those without fathers or strong male figureheads, the Gentlemans Club mentors kids from first grade on up and monitors them until high school graduation. The mission is essentially to save youths from falling into the pitfalls of gang life, criminal life, and the doldrums of being unproductive members of society.

Curtis Alston runs the show for the Princess Anne Chapter. Started originally in Salisbury 8 years ago, and was featured on Oprah's Spirit Segment, The Gentlemans Club can be best described as a junior fraternity. Oriented towards instilling values and high standards, youths meet every Wednesday with their mentors to learn values such as etiquette, self-respect, respect towards women, academics, and setting goals. Members are required to dress professionally, tie and dress slacks.

Each member who successfully practices and completes the mentorship earns a Gentlemans Club Ring with their emblem. Induction into this brotherhood is sacred and honored for these young men who have earned through their commitment a understanding and being of what it really is to be a gentleman.

Typically composed of 12 mentors and 12 youths, the Princess Anne Chapter has 38 youths only because the mentors live in the city and can easily manage that number. A chapter can form after 12 mentors come together. The number of chapters in an area is only dependant on the number of mentors who come out. Any community can hold as many chapters as they can muster. Currently there are two chapters in Salisbury with one out of Bennett Middle and another out of Salisbury Middle.

I met this group while at the Shorebirds game Saturday night and I had never heard of this club. I had the pleasure to talk with Mr. Alston for a few innings about their group. They were celebrating after a Janes Island cookout and clean up of Raccoon Point during the day. Community service and the concept of giving back to the community is another block in their philosophy and they do many events during the year.

"We have been blessed with people coming out to be mentors and help out in any way they can. Also we have had success in reuniting fathers who have been out of contact with their sons and getting them involved back into their son's life. This especially helps families, especially single moms."

Currently the area chapters of the Gentlemans Club is looking for community sponsors, especially in the web design aspect. One member is taking a course at Wor-Wic for web development, but the club needs help to get a site off the ground that they then can take over duties. The more community support that flows out the more youths can be reached and the quality of mentorship/activities will rise.

Mr. Alston can be reached at 443-783-1839 and cealston01@aol.com. Upon completion the chapter will be based out of the Garland Hayward Youth Center on Hampden Ave. thanks to an agreement with UMES and the City of Princess Anne.

The 4th River Place Condo Units Sold?

AT LAST: Another Unit Is Closed at the River Place Condo in Salisbury

Two weeks ago, the developer of the condo on Riverside Drive near downtown
Salisbury transferred the 4th unit that has been “sold” in the 42 unit project –
it’s the first one to be deeded this year and the first of the
larger “penthouse” units that contain about 2,600 square feet, with a birdseye
view of Brew River and the Perdue plant, to be transferred.

But the stated price – $650,000 – may not represent cash-in-hand or paid to
reduce the developer’s construction loan, because the buyer “Four H
Investments, Inc.” appears to be affiliated with the Harkins/Southern Builders
enterprise, so it may be a deal for part payment under the construction
contract. That's consistent with the fact that there is no mortgage for the
transaction in the Land Records.

Stay tuned, folks, because if there is still life in this condo, then the
lender for the one that’s been halted, part build, on Fitzwater Street may be
persuaded to reconsider its decision to stop the funding in mid-stream. After
all that site is nearer to Brew River and the Perdue Plant and has better
exposure to both.

So, does anyone out there want to rent a penthouse apartment on the Wicomico
River with the view described above (and some savory odors from the poultry
plant when conditions are right). You can keep your yacht at the Salisbury City
Marina -- just bring your own gas.
