Illegals Are Ripping Off Hardworking Taxpayers

The households of illegal immigrants receive an average of about $1,000 more annually in federal welfare benefits than do the households of non-immigrant recipients, a new analysis finds.

According to the immigration control advocacy group, Center for Immigration Studies, which breaks down federal cost data from 2012, the welfare payout to likely illegal immigrant households averages $5,692 yearly, compared with the average $4,431 welfare payout to non-immigrant households collecting the benefit. The CIS analysis study points out illegal immigrants are barred from directly receiving welfare, but may obtain it through their U.S.-born children.

All immigrant-headed households — legal and illegal — receive an average of $6,241 in welfare, 41 percent more than the $4,431 received by a non-immigrant household on welfare, according to the analysis.

MARINES ARE VERY INTERESTING

The Iranian Ambassador to the UN had just finished giving a speech, and walked out into the lobby of the convention center where he was introduced to a United States Marine Corps General. As they talked, the Iranian said, "I have just one question about what I have seen in America ."

The General said, "Well, is there anything I can do to help?"

The Iranian whispered, "My son watches this show called 'Star Trek' and in it there is... Kirk who is Canadian, Chekhov who is Russian, Scotty who is Scottish, Uhura who is black, and Sulu who is Japanese, but there are NO Muslims. My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any Iranians, Iraqis, Afghans, Egyptians, Palestinians, Saudis, Syrians, or Pakistanis on
'Star Trek'.

"The General leaned toward the Iranian Ambassador, and whispered in his ear, "That's because it takes place in the future..."

Planned Parenthood Is Offering ‘Transgender Hormone Services’

Planned Parenthood continues to catch plenty of flack for performing hundreds of thousands of abortions each year, but there’s another controversial service that the health organization is offering: hormone treatments for transgender individuals seeking sex changes.

According to Fox News, Planned Parenthood’s involvement in transgender services “may enable the organization to make up … lost cash” after it stopped receiving reimbursements for fetal tissue in the wake of a series of undercover videos that purported to show a number of Planned Parenthood staff members selling fetal parts.

The organization has repeatedly said, though, that it did not profit from its fetal tissue donation program.

Obama’s Attorney General: ‘Gender Identity’ More Important Than Sexual Privacy, Opponents Are Like Racists

Attorney General Janet Lynch argued May 9 that any one person’s desire to choose a male or female “gender identity” is more important than Americans’ right to sexual privacy in shared public facilities, such as bathrooms and school locker rooms.

“This action is about a great deal more than just bathrooms,” Lynch declared Monday, without setting any definition or limits on her demand that people have a right to change their “gender identity.”

This is about the dignity and respect we accord our fellow citizens and the laws that we, as a people and as a country, have enacted to protect them – indeed, to protect all of us. And it’s about the founding ideals that have led this country – haltingly but inexorably – in the direction of fairness, inclusion and equality for all Americans.

Children ‘Being Influenced by a Culture That Is Perverting Them’

Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, told those gathered in Washington, D.C., in observance of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, that the most important thing he prays for is the children, who have been influenced by the LGBT agenda.

“If I had to list the most important thing for me to pray about today, that would outrank everything else, it would be to pray for the children, because the children of this country and many places around the world are in danger, and their world has changed,” said Dobson.

Dobson left Focus on the Family in 2010 and that same year founded Family Talk, a Christian non-profit organization that “promotes and teaches biblical principles that support marriage, family, and child-development.”

Some of the Transgender Bathroom Advocates Are Pedophiles

Mat Staver, founder and president of the conservative litigation and education group Liberty Counsel, said that some of the people pushing “bathroom” bills to allow biological males to use female showers, locker rooms, and bathrooms, are sexual predators, including “pedophiles.”

"This is a common-sense provision. The fact is we know sexual assaults occur, they are going to occur with or without these laws, there's no question about that,” said Staver on the “Faith and Freedom” radio show on May 9. “People commit sexual assaults. They commit them in buildings. They commit them in restrooms.”

“But what you have now done -- knowing that sexual assaults occur, knowing that they occur in these places where women are trapped and they can't get out -- now what we've done, through these laws, is we've opened the door for every rapist and pedophile,” said Staver.

DOJ files lawsuit against North Carolina over bathroom law

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday filed a federal lawsuit against North Carolina over the state's controversial bathroom law, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced.

The lawsuit says state entities violate provisions in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX the Education Acts Amendment of 1972 and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.

"This action is about a great deal more than bathrooms," Lynch said when announcing the lawsuit.

"This is about the dignity and respect that we accord our fellow citizens."
Earlier Monday, North Carolina filed a suit against the federal government over the law, which requires that transgender people use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex.

The suit against the federal government said the DOJ's position is "baseless and blatant overreach," NBC News reported.

Republican seeks to strike language requiring women to register for draft

A Republican congressman is seeking to strike language requiring women to register for the draft from a defense policy bill.

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), chairman of the House Rules Committee, filed an amendment striking the language on Monday to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

“I have the utmost respect and deepest appreciation for the young women who bravely volunteer to serve our country, but I am adamantly opposed to expanding the draft and coercing America’s daughters to fight on the front lines,” Sessions said in a written statement to The Hill.

OBAMACARE HIKES COMING (+33%)

Get ready to give away more of your money as 2017 is certain to include new rate hikes for Obamacare.

Early indicators show that individual insurance premiums could rise by as much as one-third. For example, in Oregon, Moda Health Plan wants to raise premiums by 32.3 percent. In Virginia, five of the biggest insurers are asking for increases of 9.4 percent to 37.1 percent for individual policies.

The proposed rate hikes follow an average increase of 8 percent for 2016. The hikes are a result of higher pharmaceutical costs and sicker-than-expected patients. On Wednesday, the health insurer Humana (HUM) said it may exit some state Obamacare insurance exchanges “to retain a viable product.”

RE: Operation Street Sweeper

In what has become the gold standard in covert and overt investigations, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Ocean City Police Narcotics Division released the results of a nearly eight month long operation designed to combat the growing drug epidemic.

Speaking jointly for all of the agencies which participated, Sheriff Reggie Mason made the following statements, “For months the Criminal Enforcement Team in cooperation with the Ocean City Police Department’s Narcotics Division, the Delaware State Police, Homeland Security and the Office of the State’s Attorney have been working hand in hand to uncover, investigate and stop the growing drug problem that has not only been a problem for our community – but for neighborhoods around the country”

“Appropriately named Operation Street Sweeper, this eight month long operation was our response to what is absolutely an escalating problem. Understanding that nearly every user deals at some point to support their habit, a ground up approach to enforcement was likely to net intelligence that would ultimately lead us to many of their suppliers.”

“As a result of these street level investigations into the drug users of our community, we were able to jointly make or obtain 61 arrests or arrest warrants. These investigations led to the authoring and signing of multiple search warrants for residences, vehicles, persons, computers, social media accounts and cell phones.”

“In addition to securing our streets from the dangers of opiate and serious drug abuse, these arrests have further prevented common nuisance crimes associated with drug use. Many of those arrested were observed committing thefts, engaging in prostitution or otherwise taking the safety of Worcester County from her citizens”

Mom fails trying to surprise daughter at Utah State University in her dorm

(KUTV) -- Here's what happens when parents try to pretend they are cool, 18, and still think they can surprise you by showing up at your dorm by posting a selfie while laying your bed -- only it's not your bed... or even your dorm.

That's what happened to McKenna Pilling, the 18-year-old freshman from New York City, attending Utah State University.

Her mom planned to travel all the way across the country to surprise her with a visit. Only problem was, mommy Pilling didn't know her daughter moved out of her dorm for the semester.

"No one was in there so she laid down for five minutes in the wrong bed and decided to send me a picture as a surprise," Pilling told Buzzfeed.

BREAKING: Cruz Doesn’t Rule Out Unsuspending His Campaign: ‘If There Is a Path to Victory

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz indicated Tuesday that he could re-enter the presidential campaign — but only if he sees a clear path to victory, which he admitted was not likely.

Cruz, who suspended his presidential campaign a week ago following a crushing loss to Donald Trump in the Indiana Republican primary, was asked during an interview on The Glenn Beck Radio Program if he would consider resurrecting his campaign should he could somehow pull off a miraculous win in Nebraska’s Tuesday primary. While the conservative senator admitted he didn’t see that happening, he also didn’t completely rule out the possibility.

“I am not holding my breath; my assumption is that will not happen,” Cruz said. “But listen, let’s be very clear — if there is a path to victory, we launched this campaign intending to win.”

Trump Clarifies His Views on Buying Back Debt at a Discount

"We have to lower debt," Republican Donald Trump told ABC's "This Week" in a Friday interview, which aired on Sunday's show. But on Monday, Trump complained that his views on lowering the debt were misrepresented by the New York Times and other media outlets, and he tried to set the record straight on CNN's "New Day."

I said, if we can buy back government debt at a discount, in other words, if interest rates go up and we can buy bonds back at a discount, if we are liquid enough as a country, then we should do that."

Trump says he never advocated defaulting on the national debt or going to creditors such as China to restructure debt.

"First of all, you never have to default because you print the money, I hate to tell you, OK?" Trump told CNN. "You know, I'm the king of debt. I understand debt better than probably anybody. I know how to deal with it, very well.

Map of LGBT population is shocking everyone – but NOT why you think

You’d think, reading newspapers and magazines, watching television and movies, that the whole world is turning gay, or if not gay, then identifying with a different gender. You’d think this is so widespread that clearly the United States would need to completely change its laws, redefine terms and ensure civil justice! After all, we did it for black people, who represent about 14 percent of the population. Why would we not do this for LGBT people who represent 15 percent? Twenty percent? Right?

Wrong.

This just shows you how amazingly well the LGBT lobby has done to elevate its cause. You really want to know what percentage of the U.S. population is LGBT? LESS than FOUR percent.

And here’s the real kicker. Guess which state has the highest LGBT population in the country. WASHINGTON D.C. Approximately 10 percent of your nation’s capital belongs to the LGBT community. More than double the national average. Only Hawaii comes close with 5.1 percent.

Law Prohibiting Out-Of-State Uber Drivers Unlikely To Change Anything In OC; Enforcement A Major Challenge

OCEAN CITY — Despite changes in state law regarding the licensing of Uber drivers from out of state operating in Ocean City and across Maryland, the resort’s hands are somewhat tied in terms of enforcement.

At Monday’s Police Commission meeting, the issue of the growing number of out-of-state Uber drivers operating in Ocean City was broached and commission members learned despite changes in state licensing requirements, there is very little Ocean City Police can do in terms of enforcement. The General Assembly this year passed legislation requiring Uber drivers operating in Maryland to acquire a license from the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The license will be issued only after a thorough vetting by the PSC in terms of background checks and other requirements including proof in insurance, for example.

Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro said the licensing process is much more restrictive, but there was little language in the bill for stepped-up enforcement.

“This is more comprehensive than ever before,” he said. “The language is more restrictive than ever. It used to be up to Uber. Now, they have to go through the Public Service Commission.”

Did Limbaugh Just Solve The North Carolina Transgender Bathroom Bill Issue?

To counter the Obama Department of Justice suit regarding transgender bathrooms in North Carolina, Rush Limbaugh suggested that the state should no longer identify as North Carolina for the duration of the suit.

Monday on “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” Limbaugh, noting that the DOJ gave the state of North Carolina three days to “throw that bill out,” said that “If the DOJ gets their way, every business 15 employees or more, is gonna have to have unisex bathrooms and anybody can go into whatever bathroom they want depending how they want to identify or want to present that day.”

“The solution here might be that the North Carolina governor could say that we don’t identify as North Carolina anymore, and therefore your lawsuit against us is irrelevant,” Limbaugh suggested. “‘We’re not North Carolina. We don’t identify that way, as long as your lawsuit [is in effect].'”

“I mean, it’s absurd here! What do you mean, the way I want to present one day,” Limbaugh commented.

Why Trump Resonates

While there is considerable and expected animus directed at presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump from the Left, there might be as much, if not more, invective coming from the Right. Columnist George Will is infuriated by the extensive damage Trump has inflicted on the GOP, warning that the collaborationists who support him “will render themselves ineligible to participate in the party’s reconstruction.” Charles Krauthammer also speaks to the “ideological realignment” of the party. They are two members of a conservative army appalled by Trump’s rise among a voter base they believe has allowed anger to overcome ideology. Yet their angst is largely based on the conventional wisdom regarding the ostensible differences between conservative vs. liberal, or Democrat vs. Republican. What if the conventional wisdom no longer applies?

“Any true understanding of this election requires an appreciation of the one huge political fault line that is driving America into a period of serious political tremors, certain to jolt the political Richter scale,” writes a very insightful Robert W. Merry.

“It is nationalists vs. globalists.”

New law puts Maryland at 'forefront' of birth control access

Advocates say a new Maryland law will place the state at the forefront of efforts to require insurance plans to offer birth control at no out-of-pocket cost, expanding access to women and men who want to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

The law goes further than President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, which already reduced costs for women seeking birth control in many cases.

Under the Contraceptive Equity Act, Maryland will be the first state to require insurance companies to cover over-the-counter emergency contraceptives, such so called morning-after pills, at no cost. Maryland also will be the first state prohibiting out-of-pocket costs for men who have vasectomies.

Subject: Herman Cain to #NeverTrump crowd: ‘Get your egos out of the way’

Herman Cain lashed out at the “Never Trump” crowd Monday, saying Republicans need to swallow their pride and unite behind the party’s presumptive nominee.

“Mitt [Romney] and all of the anti-Trump, ‘never Trump’ folk, look behind you,” Mr. Cain, a former presidential candidate and Fox News contributor, said on “Fox & Friends,” The Hill reported.

“There is no army. What they hear are the voices of these resistance people pushing against the presumptive nominee. There’s no army back there,” he continued. “The message is, you’re talking to yourselves. Get your egos out of the way and get behind the presumptive nominee.

“All of the people … who signed the pledge to back the presumptive nominee, now they’re going back on their word,” he added. “This is why people don’t like the establishment. They say one thing, they’ll do something else expecting the public to have very short memories.”

Cashing in: Illegal immigrants get $1,261 more welfare than American families

Illegal immigrant households receive an average of $5,692 in federal welfare benefits every year, far more than the average "native" American household, at $4,431, according to a new report on the cost of immigration released Monday.

The Center for Immigration Studies, in an analysis of federal cost figures, found that all immigrant-headed households — legal and illegal — receive an average of $6,241 in welfare, 41 percent more than native households. As with Americans receiving benefits such as food stamps and cash, much of the welfare to immigrants supplements their low wage jobs.

The total cost is over $103 billion in welfare benefits to households headed by immigrants. A majority, 51 percent, of immigrant households receive some type of welfare compared to 30 percent of native households, said the analysis of Census data.

Subject: Ben Carson Slams AG Lynch For Comparing NC Bathroom Law to Jim Crow

Former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson didn't buy Attorney General Loretta Lynch's comparison of North Carolina's bathroom law to the Jim Crow laws of the pre-civil rights era.

"That's what they always say," Carson said Monday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto." "Everything is like Jim Crow. Everything is like racism and segregation and slavery. What a bunch of crap."

"We saw it in the Jim Crow laws that followed the Emancipation Proclamation. We saw it in the fierce and widespread resistance to Brown v. Board of Education, Lynch said Monday in announcing the Justice Department filing a lawsuit over the state's law that requires transgendered people to use the bathroom of the sex on their birth certificate rather than the one they identify with.

Carson, who is black, said liberals make the comparison to gain sympathy, "but thinking people know better."

Could Maryland senate race be a Republican pickup?

Conventional wisdom would say Republicans in Maryland have no chance to win a Senate seat. But conventional wisdom has had a terrible track record recently.

John Fritze of the Baltimore Sun suggests Republican senate nominee Kathy Szeliga at least has that in her favor, and explains how the Baltimore County legislator is doing everything right for November.

"A number of observers said the second-term state delegate ran a shrewd campaign to win the GOP nomination — including a snappy TV ad that featured her riding a motorcycle — and is sounding all the right themes for the general election," Fritze wrote.

Cruz, Trump, Ryan: The Unimagined Week

No one imagined three days ago that a month would disappear from the campaign calendar.

The morning of the Indiana primary virtually everyone assumed there would be a fight for the GOP nomination at least to June 7, when California, New Jersey and several other states vote.

Many thought the contest could go on after June 7 because Donald Trump might still be a few delegates short.

Some hoped there would be a contested convention in July.

Suddenly, Tuesday night, Senator Ted Cruz cut either one or two months out of the calendar.

In a very wise, realistic step he suspended his candidacy. This allows him to avoid a month of negativity. It will serve him well. He leaves the race a much bigger, stronger figure than when he entered. He is plausibly a candidate for the Presidency in 2020 if Trump loses. (Actually, Cruz is so young he is plausibly a candidate for President in 2040). He has the name recognition and financial network to become a future governor of our second biggest state.

He would be a superb choice to fill the Scalia role on the Supreme Court. He can now take some time to think long and hard about his future.

TALBOT CO VIOLATED OPEN MEETINGS LAW IN VOTE TO RETAIN CONFEDERATE STATUE

Closed-Door Decision on "Talbot Boys" Confederate Monument Ruled a Violation of Maryland Open Meetings Law

EASTON, MD - The Talbot County Council violated Maryland's Open Meetings Act when it held closed-door sessions to discuss and vote upon an NAACP request to remove the "Talbot Boys" Confederate monument from the courthouse lawn in Easton. That is the legal ruling from the Maryland Open Meetings Compliance Board, in response to a February 2016 complaint filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Maryland and the Talbot County Branch of the NAACP (NAACP) asking the Board to declare the county's actions illegal.

"We are elated by the opinion from the Opening Meeting Compliance Board in recognizing that our elected county officials have an obligation to conduct all business openly in front of its constituent base. We will now wait to see how the council plans to rectify this violation," said Richard Potter, Talbot NAACP President.

The "Talbot Boys" monument, erected in 1916, celebrates soldiers from Talbot County who fought for the Confederacy against the United States during the Civil War. Although many more Talbot men fought for the Union, Talbot County leaders of the day refused to memorialize Union soldiers from the community, electing instead to honor only those who died for the Confederacy. The statue depicts a Confederate soldier with a Confederate battle flag draped across his back, and bears the caption "To the Talbot Boys, 1861-1865, C.S.A."

Many African Americans consider the statue an affront to their humanity - a symbol of racism and injustice at the one place in the community meant to be dedicated to serving justice for all, the County Courthouse. On this basis, the Talbot NAACP last July asked the County to consider moving the statue to an alternative location dedicated to historic preservation rather than justice.

Good Samaritan, Rescue Swimmers Aid Distressed Body Boarders

OCEAN CITY — In one of the earliest ocean rescues in the resort in recent memory, two body-boarders in distress were pulled from the water on Sunday afternoon with the assistance of a Good Samaritan surfer and three Ocean City Fire Department rescue swimmers.

Around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, Ocean City Fire Department rescue swimmers were dispatched to the area of 16th Street for a report of two swimmers in distress. Two inexperienced body boarders, neither of whom were wearing wetsuits, became distressed and began to be swept into an apparent rip current.

The body-boarders abandoned their boards and began attempting to swim to shore to no avail. A surfer nearby paddled over to the distressed swimmers, who were able to hang on the surf board temporarily.

Three OCFD rescue swimmers, including Ocean City Councilman Matt James, Mick Chester and Ben Waples arrived minutes later and affected a rescue of the swimmers. James was the first to arrive and enter the water. Chester and Waples arrived a short time later.

Yet because the country opted for a hardcore brand of socialism, its people are now literally starving, and they're going to extremes to survive:

So, you know Venezuela is on the verge of economic collapse. The price of oil has dropped precipitously over the past few years—that’s a budgetary nightmare for a nation dependent on its oil exports. As a result, basic necessities, like toilet paper, are being rationed. There’s limited access to television and long distance phone service. There are rolling blackouts due to energy shortages. And now the government iscutting back the workweek to just two days. This comes at a time when Venezuela’s citizens need government services the most. Supermarkets are not stocked regularly, so there’s a food shortage; people are starving. They’ve resorted to looting to survive. You would think that the government can’t really afford to print its own currency because it’s so broke would be the cherry on top of this socialist nightmare. Nope—the hunger games appear to have begun, as Venezuelans are now hunting stray dogs, cats, and pigeons for sustenance.

Socialism: making everyone equal, and equally miserable - since the dawn of time!

Hillary Emails: CNN Reporter Offered Clinton Platform to Promote Her ‘Top Priorities’

CNN’s global affairs correspondent Elise Labott makes a cameo appearance in the latest batch of 130-pages of Hillary Clinton emails released last week as the result of a Judicial Watch lawsuit and reviewed in full by this reporter.

The email shows that on April 16, 2009, Labott contacted then-Clinton Senior Adviser Philippe I. Reines and other top Clinton aides to offer Clinton the opportunity to feature her “top priorities” as secretary of state as part of a CNN.com series titled, “First 100 days.” The series is about the Obama administration’s first 100 days in office.

Such an email ordinarily would not stand out. However, Labott’s case is exceptional due to her history of consulting Clinton aides. Previously released Clinton correspondence showed Labott worked directly with Reines to craft two tweets that she eventually published. One tweet criticized Rand Paul for asking Clinton tough questions during a Benghazi hearing. A second tweet was favourable of Clinton’s Benghazi testimony.

Hispanics Eager to Punish Donald Trump, GOP

Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign promising to build a border wall to stop illegal immigrants — and Hispanic rights advocates say Republicans will now reap the pain of having him as their party’s nominee.

America’s Voice, a leading immigration advocacy group, said Republicans are facing “a moment of truth.” Other organizations predicted that Hispanic voters will be eager to punish Mr. Trump for his rhetoric and the party as a whole for nominating him.

“The Republican Party is about to run into a force more powerful than their hatred — the power of the love of families and communities standing together,” said Kica Matos, director of immigrant rights at the Center for Community Change.

On the other side are Hispanic Republican leaders who fear exactly what has come to pass. They say Mr. Trump has a lot of work to do even to get Hispanics in his own party to back him up.

“I cannot support him, I cannot campaign for him, I cannot vote for him,” Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, told The Washington Times.

“Having said that, I am taking a pause and just seeing how this evolves, and considering all the things that the country is facing, all the things that are at stake in this election I am willing to see if Mr. Trump evolves on a number of issues. I hope that he revises his views on immigration and if that is the case I would be willing to consider reconsidering my position,” he said.

BERLIN: Taser Quelled Potential Dangerous Stun Gun Incident Outside Trump Rally

OCEAN CITY — More details emerged this week about a potentially violent incident following Donald Trump’s visit to Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin in April including a suspect being subdued with the threat of a Taser by an OCPD officer.

On April 20, Trump visited Berlin for a political rally attended by thousands including supporters, protesters and hundreds more curiosity seekers. While Trump was speaking inside the school, thousands gathered in areas around Decatur including the parking lot of the old Harley Davidson business across the street.

The protests, while somewhat chippy, were by and large peaceful although an incident later in evening after the rally threatened to turn violent. During his monthly briefing on the crime report and Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW), or Taser, use by the department for April, OCPD Chief Ross Buzzuro outlined an incident where an undercover officer assigned to the Trump rally had to utilize a Taser to bring into compliance a suspect who was threatening to shoot another man with a stun gun.

Subject: Report: Immigrants Use 41 Percent More Welfare than Non-Immigrant Households

Immigrant-headed households use 41 percent more federal welfare benefits than their native-born counterparts, according to a new Center for Immigration Studies analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.

The average household headed by an immigrant (both legal and illegal) in 2012 consumed $6,234 federal in welfare benefits, while the average native-headed households consumed $4,431 in benefits, says the CIS report, which is based on data from the Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Program Participation.

Broken down by category, author Jason Richwine details how immigrant-headed households consume on average 33 percent more cash welfare (Supplemental Security Income and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), 57 percent more food assistance (food stamps, the Women, Infants, and Children program, and school lunch), and 44 percent more Medicaid. Both groups, however, use housing assistance at similar levels.

The analysis dovetails off an earlier CIS study which found that 51 percent of immigrant-headed households use at least one welfare program, compared to 30 percent of native-headed households.

Former Facebook Workers: We Routinely Suppressed Conservative News

Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential “trending” news section, according to a former journalist who worked on the project. This individual says that workers prevented stories about the right-wing CPAC gathering, Mitt Romney, Rand Paul, and other conservative topics from appearing in the highly-influential section, even though they were organically trending among the site’s users.

Several former Facebook “news curators,” as they were known internally, also told Gizmodo that they were instructed to artificially “inject” selected stories into the trending news module, even if they weren’t popular enough to warrant inclusion—or in some cases weren’t trending at all.

Trump's Middle-Class Revolution Long Overdue

Sitting around the deli having breakfast with my bike riding group the conversation turns to Donald Trump.

As a follower of the Scott Adams blog (he’s the creator of Dilbert), I wasn’t surprised by Trumps victory over the Republican Establishment candidates. Adams has been pointing out for some time that Trump would prevail.

One of the guys, a former Obama supporter and now anti-Clinton, says that he thinks Trump won’t win the election. His reasoning is that a 3rd party candidate will now arise combining the centrists of the Republican and Democratic parties.

Another example of fantasy rationalization which occurs when a person’s subconscious will not let them accept reality.

I pointed out that a 3rd party centrist candidate is the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party. He defeated the Republicans, and now he will defeat the Democrats.

Good News in the War Against Islam

More than 80 men and women from Iran and Afghanistan converted to Christianity Thursday during a mass baptism in Hamburg, Germany.

Albert Babajan, the pastor who carried out the ceremony, has converted 196 Muslims in 2016. He expects the number to grow to 500 by the end of the year, and says the most common reason is disappointment in Islam.

“The motive for the change of faith is the same for many: they are disappointed with Islam,” Babajan told German magazine Stern.

One refugees said Christianity has liberated him from living in a constant fear of sinning. Iranian girl Shima said she’s been looking for happiness her entire life, and finally found it under the Christian faith.

This State is About to Secure a Major Victory For Gun Rights

On Thursday, the New Hampshire Senate concurred with the House and passed legislation to eliminate the requirement for a license to carry concealed in the Granite State.

The legislation — HB 582 — would simply treat concealed carry like open carry, which is already legal to do without a permit in New Hampshire. In short, HB 582 removes the requirement that citizens pay the state for a concealed permit before exercising their Second Amendment rights.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, the Senate vote was 14-10, in favor of repealing the permit requirement. Sen. Gary Daniels (R-Milford) said, “This is our opportunity to ensure the 2nd Amendment rights of our constituents are upheld.”

But Democrats argued for a continuation of the current structure of allowing open carry without a permit while requiring a permit for concealed carry. Sen. Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) accused Republicans of simply pursuing change for the sake of change — because the GOP controls the Senate — instead of pursuing change because it is actually required.
