Albero Target of Another Frivolous Lawsuit

SbyNEWS publisher Joe Albero is, yet again, the target of a frivolous lawsuit brought by a supposed public servant.  Douglas Devenyns, director of the Wicomico County Detention Center, has filed a $150,000 lawsuit against Albero claiming defamation.

In one sense it’s “HERE WE GO AGAIN!”  Albero has already been a target of suits brought by Salisbury police chief Allan Webster and former mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman.  The suit brought by Webster was settled on non-monetary terms.  A judge found in favor of Albero in Tilghman’s suit.

In his suit Devenyns claims that Albero is liable for an anonymous comment posted on his web site.  According to Devenyns’ attorney:

Kevin Karpinski, a Baltimore attorney representing Devenyns, wrote in the complaint that Albero is liable for the comment, even if he didn't write it. That's because Karpinski charges Albero determines which of the comments submitted by his readers he will publish and whether he will edit them first. Albero erred because he either knew -- or should have known -- the comment was false, Karpinski contends.

Gannett Publication At It Again

Early this morning there were comments posted on the Daily Times site under the article concerning Director Devenyns suing Joe Albero. Throughout the day others have posted comments pertaining to the frivolity of this lawsuit, some even pointed out the fact that the Daily Times printed directly from the charging documents concerning Devenyns having sex in his office and being caught by others. The comments were not personal attacks or obscene yet all one has to do is click on report abuse often enough and they are removed. This leaves only the comments posted by the Anti Alberos to be viewed. This also gives the impression that everyone reading this article is against Joe, which is not true. They've left a comment by Lee Clarke and comments by someone named Zazu9999 but any others have been removed.

Much the same as they allowed to happen during the campaign for mayor. They allowed to remain any comments that promoted Gary Comegys yet removed any in support of Jim Ireton. They allowed some of the most vile comments about Mayor Jim Ireton to remain and be viewed by others. Could this have affected the outcome of the election? Yes, I think it could have. Had Jim Ireton not had the support he had we could have a first class blubbering idiot sitting in the mayors seat today.

This is only one page of the comments, take a look at the photo then go look at the Daily Times site.

Kratovil Backs FY 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill

Kratovil Backs FY 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill; Makes Key Investments to Strengthen Our Military and Support Our Troops

Secures $5.5 million for local priorities.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Frank Kratovil joined a bipartisan majority of his colleagues in passing the FY 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill. The legislation makes key investment that will strengthen our military and support our troops. Rep. Kratovil was further able to secure $5.5 million for three projects that will directly benefit Maryland’s First Congressional District.

This bill appropriates $636.3 billion for the Department of Defense for FY 2010 -- $508 billion for the base defense budget and $128.3 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. For the time in years the Congress applied principles of fiscal conservatism to the defense appropriations process by cutting $3.8 billion from the President’s request and for the first time since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan in 2001, funding for war operations via the regular appropriations process rather than a supplemental bill.

“I was proud to back these appropriations because I believe the Congress has no greater responsibility than to provide security for citizens of the United States and provide protection and a high standard of living for our Armed Services and their families who sacrifice so much and put their lives on the line in our defense,” said Rep. Kratovil. “Even more, it is a pleasant change of pace to witness Congress applying fiscal responsibility. This bill ensures that war operations are properly accounted for within the regular budget process and we are no longer misrepresenting the true cost of our military operations.”

In addition to investments in key national priorities Rep. Kratovil was able to secure $5.5 million for local priorities as well.

Rep. Kratovil secured $2 million for the Alliant Tech Systems (ATK) in Elkton, MD to develop more efficient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly components of our missile defense system.

Rep. Kratovil secured $2 million for the L3 Chesapeake Sciences Corporation in Millersville, MD to develop cutting edge technology that will boost the Navy’s eroding anti-submarine defenses at a time when potential adversaries are rapidly acquiring advanced quieting techniques and other offensive submarine technologies.

Rep. Kratovil secured $1.5 million for W.L Gore and Associates, also located in Elkton, MD. W.L. Gore will use the funds to develop a Modular Glove System for Special Operation Forces (SOF) that provide the war fighter necessary protection across a wide range of climactic conditions. Developed with and at the request of SOF personnel, this system allows for a higher degree of combat effectiveness in the very harshest environments, and allows the war fighter to perform at his/her most effective level.

“We often hear about the new military technology being developed and how it is protecting our troops stationed across the globe; but we may not realize that some of this technology is being built right in our backyard with the creativity and ingenuity of our friends and neighbors. The entire nation should be grateful for the work that they do and especially those of us who benefit directly from their contributions to the local economy, especially during a recession. I fought for these funds on behalf of the military and the region so that we could protect our troops, protect our citizens, and get local economies back on track,” said Rep. Kratovil.

Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin & My Skip Gates Question

Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin are entitled to their opinions, which they have plenty of -- in this case about President Obama and his reaction to the arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. by Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley. They are not, however, to paraphrase the late Sen. Patrick Moynihan, entitled to their own facts, or entitled to invent a scenario in which the White House somehow prompted me to ask Obama about Gates at his press conference last week.

Ann, Michelle, can we get a beer on this? I'll pay. I'll take an Amstel Light. What are your brews? Because gals, you need to look elsewhere for a new conspiracy. Coulter said on FOX News that Obama "had that question planted." She added, "I do have proof." On NBC's "Today Show" on Wednesday morning, host Matt Lauer, asked Malkin, "Do you think this was a planned question?" Replied Malkin, "Absolutely do."

Bad Employer Bailout? Reform Could Fund Health Care For Illegal Workers

Under health care legislation on Capitol Hill, undocumented workers would technically not be covered. But the reality, immigration analysts say, is that the legislation is missing any mechanism to keep them out of the system. And if they exploit that loophole, taxpayers could be on the hook for billions to cover health care costs that employers don't.

Health care reform could end up bailing out employers who hire illegal immigrants and skimp on their health benefits.

Under the legislation being considered on Capitol Hill, undocumented workers would technically not be covered. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said as much in an interview Sunday.

"No, illegal immigrants are not covered by this plan," she said.

But the reality, immigration analysts say, is that the legislation is missing any mechanism to keep illegals out of the system. And if they exploit that loophole, taxpayers could be on the hook for billions to cover health care costs their employers do not.

Senator: Medicare Cut For 'Gov't-Run' Health Care

WASHINGTON – The Senate's top Republican accused Democrats of cutting Medicare to finance a "massive new government-run" health care plan, as the last of three House committees pushed its way through a compromise version of the health care overhaul Thursday.

"Some in Congress seem to be in such a rush to pass just any reform, rather than the right reform, that they're looking everywhere for the money to pay for it, even if it means sticking it to seniors with cuts to Medicare," said Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in the latest in a series of daily Senate speeches on health care.

McConnell's Republicans, unanimously opposed to Democratic-drafted legislation in the House, are watching warily while three members of their rank-and-file negotiate over a bipartisan plan in the Senate that could hand President Barack Obama a victory on his top domestic priority.

Joe Albero Sells Newspapers

Early this morning I went out to three different locations before I could get my hands on a Daily Times Newspaper. Yes, each store had already received a copy but they had sold out.

Its no wonder the Daily Times enjoys putting my face on the Front Page, I sell Newspapers! I love how I had a guarantee from Greg Bassett himself stating, (after the last three stories they wrote about me) he would forever use the term, "Webster and Albero resolved their differences on non monetary terms" but clearly Mr. Bassett cannot be a man of his word. He still allows everyone to make it sound as if I settled out of Court with Webster, like I paid the jackass off, or something.

They certainly know what wording to use to spark things up and I'm confident this is exactly what Greg expected, my creating an article about it so they get more attention. If that's the case Greg, you win, I'm telling my people you're a liar and you cannot be trusted. At least here I can go on the record and state our conversation and you have every right to come on here and deny it or even apologize.

In the mean time, I'll comment on the lawsuit when I'm good and ready to do so and not any sooner, just as I gave my word to the Daily Times that I would do. I have always been a man of my word and the Daily Times knows this to be true. I have never lied to them and I have always delivered what I said I would. I denied any comment yesterday with them and as soon as I finally get served with documents I'll be happy to discuss this case.

Remember Folks, it's only money and money is very easy to make if you know what you're doing. Just ask my attorneys. LOL

Oh, by the way Daily Times, you're welcome for the massive sales today.

A Letter To The Editor

ORIOLES COLUMN: Please bow your head

Now I am a beyond dedicated O's fan and of course I am frustrated with the way that the season has progressed; however, I never give up on my team! Now everybody has their right to their opinion and their right to choose "their team", but I found this article completely distasteful! Apparently the Daily Slime, moreover Staff Writer Ben Penserga, is a "fair weather fan" that can't support it's team through its troubles! It is people like this that make our local sports teams fall short-teams need fans to buy memorabilia, tickets, beer, food, advertising, etc...When you quit on your team, you make them suffer even more! Why is Boston and New York so dominate? Its because every game is jam packed with fans that come and spend money which in turn goes to player salaries, player development and player acquisition. Boston and New York fans even help pay O's salaries because more of them show up to Camden Yards than O's fans when New York and Boston are in town for a series! Sure the O's pitching staff sucks this year, but look at what they have to go up against-Boston and New York have pitching payroles that nearly triple Baltimore's. Teams can not win without the support from their fans. So next time you complain about "your" team losing ask yourself this question, "when was the last time I went to a game?" And when, or if, the O's rebound it won't be because of people like Ben that gave up-it will be because of people like me that have already gone to 17 games this season!

Like I said, everybody has the right to their own opinion, but to publically ridicule, harass and degrade a local team is uncalled for in my opinion. As we all know this attitude displayed by the Times is also evident in its reporting of the local news as well.

Since the Times can hardly produce professional sports news in its sports section online, how do you (Joe) feel about doing a sports section on your blog?

Ben Penserga and the Daily Times, YOU HAVE BEEN BLOGGED!

TROOPERS SEARCH FOR FAMILY OF CAPITAL BELTWAY FATALITY

(Forestville, MD) – Maryland state troopers are asking for the public’s help in locating relatives of a man who was killed last weekend while walking across the outer loop of the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County.

The man was carrying no identification at the time he was struck. He was identified earlier this week through fingerprints as Jose´ David Sanchez, 36. He is described as a Hispanic male, who was 5’ 4” tall, weighed 150 pounds, and had brown eyes and black hair.

Sanchez was born in Honduras. He apparently had no fixed address in Maryland. Troopers have checked several locations in an attempt to contact any family, but the addresses have either been false, or no one there has heard of the victim.

Sanchez was struck while walking across the outer loop of I-495 at Temple Hills Road, shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009. The investigation revealed Sanchez walked from the center median into the roadway and was struck in lane three. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was not charged.

Sanchez was taken to Southern Maryland Hospital. He was pronounced dead about 90 minutes after the crash occurred.

Troopers have developed information that Sanchez spent time in Montgomery County, as well as Prince George’s County. Other information about Sanchez, such as his occupation, is unknown. The information that is known has been sent to police departments throughout the area with a request for assistance in locating family.

Maryland state troopers at the Forestville Barracks are hoping to locate family to personally notify them of the death of Sanchez. Anyone who may be related to Sanchez or who has information about him is urged to contact troopers at the Forestville Barracks at 301-568-8101.

Urban Salisbury Files Community Legacy Grant

In a Press Conference held this morning, Mayor Ireton celebrated with Urban Salisbury filing a $260,500.00 Application for a Community Legacy Grant to revitalize Downtown Salisbury.

The Grant money will be used for engineering plans to formalize a detailed Master Plan. I would like to add, yesterday I personally received an invitation to another meeting Urban Salisbury will hold specifically towards property owners, business owners and real estate companies involved with the immediate Downtown properties. I believe this is a move in the right direction as the property owners should have more input than anyone else, should they attempt to make major changes to their properties.

Michelle Malkin Talks With Sean Hannity About Obama's "Culture Of Corruption"

Obama's Approval Hits New Low

(July 30) -- As President Obama struggles to get a health care reform plan through Congress, his poll numbers are looking more sickly.

Gallup finds Obama's approval rating has fallen three points in a week to 56 percent, the lowest of his presidency. Other surveys show similar results. And on health care specifically, skepticism is growing.

The only silver lining for Obama in the gloomy polls is that he's not getting the blame for everything. While the vast majority surveyed by The New York Times and CBS News say the economy is in bad shape, only 4 percent think it's Obama's fault. In the public's mind, the blame falls mostly on President George W. Bush and Wall Street.

The Washington Times notes that Obama often defends himself now by pointing to the previous administration. And Politics Daily's Jill Lawrence reports Democrats hope the anti-Bush sentiments carry over into the 2010 elections.

How do YOU think he's doing?

A Letter To The Editor On Public Library

"I wonder how the residents of Wicomico County feel about building a new library. We are all talking about going "green". Why cant the Library be green. Why cant we have some up to date computers in a building. The space a computer takes up is small. I used to go to the library to find instruction, information and what I found was outdated or did not exist. I have a computer now and can find ANYTHING I need. If I want to read a book I can read it on line or if I want the book I can download it to my printer and go sit and read it. I wonder how many people actually go thru the doors of the library? Is it really worth it to build a building to store outdated books, information. We are in a recession. Do we need a fancy building and for what? I would like to read your comments."

Editor: I firmly agree. It amazes me to no end that the County would even consider such a project. With computer technology, books are on their way out and future generations, (not that we don't already have it today) will rely more on computers than they will Library's.

I am firmly against the County spending a single penny on a new facility and hope others get together and fight against this new proposed project. However Folks, YOU are the ones that can make the biggest difference. YOU need to start showing up at meetings and writing your Mayor and County Executive and tell them you won't stand for it. YOU need to make these people accountable for these political decisions. Just because there's all this stimulus money floating around doesn't mean we need to abuse it.

OIL.... THIS SHOULD TICK YOU OFF!!!!

do you think a Democrat will say a thing???
do you think a Republican will say a thing???

The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels.. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable. .. at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years.' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.'

And it stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada . For years, U.S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago.

However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 41 years straight.

2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U.S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!
Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen
- and it's all right here in the Western United States ...

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy..... WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention/ire up yet? Hope so! Now, while you're thinking about it ....... and hopefully P.O'd, do this:

3.. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain about gas prices .. because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to complain.
--------
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

Being A Senior Is A Gas

I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to break wind. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my pint and noticed that everybody was staring at me.

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.

HEBRON PUBLIC HEARING ON ITS NEW COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The Public Hearing on Hebron's Comprehensive Plan will take place on FRIDAY, 7/31/09, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lion's Den in Hebron, MD.

Hebron's scheduling of this hearing on a Friday night appears calculated to ensure that County and State officials as well as citizens will not attend. Hebron is trying to avoid a repeat of prior public hearings held on regular workweek timeslots when large numbers of opponents showed up.

In disrespect of the County, Hebron has set its public hearing not even waiting a couple of days until Hebron meets with the County on 8/4/09 about the Comp Plan.

Please make every effort to attend this public hearing on Friday night--and show the Hebron Planning Commission that the citizens will be heard. If you care about Hebron, be there!

A View From The West: Post-Transition Angle

(BALTIMORE – July 29, 2009) – Hello shore fans. As you can tell from the dateline, I am now coming to you from Baltimore, the queen city in our state. Which would explain my much lengthy absence. For starters, Comcast is coming by to give me a cable line that works so I can do my webstuff in real-time.

In any event, I have taken up residence in Baltimore County, where I have experienced what many of you are probably having to suffer with…limited wabbit ear television reception. My hope was to be able to receive some Washington Channels, but alas, this will not be the case (at least until I find a bigger amplifier).

I can imagine that many areas on the shore are experiencing similar problems since the DTV transition. This was predicted when Wilmington, North Carolina switched to DTV before the rest of the nation. A lot of the rural areas in the area were not able to pick up the DTV signals, one of which was a Low-Power CBS affiliate, which technically could have stayed analog, even to this day.

Then it turns out the big cities are not safe either, mainly for those who opted to go back to their original channel positions on the VHF band. In the DTV landscape, VHF Channels 2-6 were not really good while channels 7-13 were not much better. WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, had opted to go back to their Channel 6 position, which is now turning out to be a headache, especially considering that the ABC station is the number one station in the Delaware Valley.

Here in Baltimore, as I found out on my first night living here, WBAL-TV has been having problems with broadcasting digitally on Channel 11. Keep in mind, I am not far from TV Hill and it was skipping in my bedroom. There have also been similar stories with WJLA-TV in Washington, WABC-TV in New York and WHDH-TV in Boston. WHDH however was lucky enough to have been able to move back to their pre-transition channel position.

Here is how I think this is going to end. There is going to be a big adjustment once everyone realizes what they need done, much like the early 50s, when television stations had to move to different channels to keep from interfering with channels in close by areas.

Taxing The Middle Class

The great majority of individuals who receive aesthetic surgery are of the middle class, NOT the upper class. This is a fact.

The Obama health plan includes a surcharge (TAX) for aesthetic surgery to pay for the currently uninsured. This is a fact.

Therefore, THE SURCHARGE ON AESTHETIC SURGERY IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF OBAMA TAXING THE MIDDLE CLASS, breaking his promise.

Stealing from Peter to give to Paul is not following the message of Christ. It a misunderstanding, a perversion of the message. It is tragic that liberals lack the intellectual capacity to discern the difference between the two: GIVING (Christ) AND STEALING (Obama).

To pay for the uninsured, why doesn’t he place a tax on abortions? Oh, yeah, I forgot. To Obama, an abortion is an ESSENTIAL surgery, so it will provided, at no charge, by his health plan. AND WE ALL WILL BE FUNDING ABORTIONS.

Don’t you love “CHANGE.”

Remember When I Offered $250,000.00 Cash For Old Fire Station 16?

I wonder what the lawyers are going to say about this!

Today's Chuckle

This may explain why our country is in such deep trouble.

A DC airport ticket agent offers some examples of 'why' our country is in trouble! So here is a recap of some of the conversations he had with our august lawmakers.

1.I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman (Carol Shea-Porter) ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the breeze coming from window. (On an airplane!)

2.I got a call from a Kansas Congressman's (Moore) staffer (Howard Bauleke), who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information, and then he interrupted me with, ''I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts .''

Without trying to make him look stupid, I calmly explained, ''Cape Cod is in Massachusetts , Capetown is in Africa ''

his response -- click.

3. A senior Vermont Congressman (Bernie Sanders) called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando . He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state.

He replied, 'don't lie to me, I looked on the map and Florida is a very thin state!'' (OMG)

4. I got a call from a lawmaker's wife (Landra Reid) who asked, ''Is it possible to see England from Canada ?''

I said, ''No.''

She said, ''But they look so close on the map.'' (OMG, again!)

5.An aide for a cabinet member (Janet Napolitano) once called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas. I pulled up the reservation and noticed he had only a 1-hour layover in Dallas . When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said, ''I heard Dallas was a big airport, and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time.'' (Aghhhh)

6.An Illinois Congresswoman (Jan Schakowsky) called last week. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:30 a.m., and got to Chicago at 8:33 a.m.

I explained that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois , but she couldn't understand the concept of time zones. Finally, I told her the plane went fast, and she bought that.

7. A New York lawmaker, (Jerrold Nadler) called and asked, ''Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?'' I said, 'No, why do you ask?'

he replied, ''Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said (FAT), and I'm overweight. I think that's very rude!''

After putting him on hold for a minute, while I looked into it. (I was dying laughing). I came back and explained the city code for Fresno , Ca. is (FAT - Fresno Air Terminal), and the airline was just putting a destination tag on his luggage..

8. A Senator John Kerry aide (Lindsay Ross) called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii . After going over all the cost info, she asked, ''Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii ?''

9. I just got off the phone with a freshman Congressman, Bobby Bright (D) from Ala who asked, ''How do I know which plane to get on?''

I asked him what exactly he meant, to which he replied, ''I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.''

10. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D)
called and said, ''I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola , Florida . Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?''

I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola , FL on a commuter plane.

She said, ''Yeah, whatever, smarty!''

11. Mary Landrieu (D) La. Senator called and had a question about the documents she needed in order to fly to China . After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded her that she needed a visa. 'Oh, no I don't. I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those.''

I double checked and sure enough, her stay required a visa. When I told her this she said, ''Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!''

12. A New Jersey Congressman (John Adler) called to make reservations, ''I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York .''

I was at a loss for words. Finally, I said, ''Are you sure that's the name of the town?''

'Yes, what flights do you have?'' replied the man.

After some searching, I came back with, ''I'm sorry, sir, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a rhino anywhere."

''The man retorted, ''Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!''

So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, ''You don't mean Buffalo , do you?''

The reply? ''Whatever! I knew it was a big animal.''

Now you know why the Government is in the shape that it's in!

Could anyone be this DUMB?

YES, THEY WALK AMONG US, ARE IN POLITICS, AND THEY CONTINUE TO BREED.

I don't write it, I just offer it for your consideration. Like manure, you just gotta spread it around.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Circulating via forwarded email, an open letter to President Obama by former Procter & Gamble executive Lou Pritchett enumerates the ways the newly-elected commander-in-chief scares him.

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America 's true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

TRUE - CHECK: http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/youscareme.asp

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. It's happening right now.

Ten Things You're Not Supposed To Know About The Swine Flu Vaccine

Let's not beat around the bush on this issue: The swine flu vaccines now being prepared for mass injection into infants, children, teens and adults have never been tested and won't be tested before the injections begin. In Europe, where flu vaccines are typically tested on hundreds (or thousands) of people before being unleashed on the masses, the European Medicines Agency is allowing companies to skip the testing process entirely.

And yet, amazingly, people are lining up to take the vaccine, absent any safety testing whatsoever. When the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. announced a swine http://www.naturalnews.com/flu_vaccine.html flu vaccine trial beginning in early August, it was inundated with phone calls and emails from people desperate to play the role of human guinea pigs. The power of fear to herd sheeple into vaccine injections is simply amazing...

Delaware Electric Cooperative "Peak Alert"

URGENT “BEAT THE PEAK”

3 P.M. to 7 P.M., Today, July 30

Because of the warm weather over our region, between the hours of 3 P.M. and 7 P.M., today, we are asking you to delay the usage of all unnecessary lights and appliances during these hours as well as turning your thermostat up 3 degrees.

By delaying the use of unnecessary lighting and appliances as well as turning your thermostat up 3 degrees between 3 P.M. and 7 P.M., today, we can save energy resources, avoid high cost energy and help the environment.

We thank you for your help. Together we can “Beat the Peak”

MARYLAND LAW ENFORCEMENT LAUNCHES ANNUAL CHIEFS’ CHALLENGE CAMPAIGN

Law Enforcement Officials Seek Community Participation in Lifesaving Initiative

Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack will join more than one hundred law enforcement agencies across the state in an effort to educate the public on the lifesaving and injury-reducing benefits of safety belt/child seat use. Additional attention will focus on the reduction of aggressive driving and driving while impaired. This campaign will take place from May through December 2009.

The Maryland Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs, Campus Safety Directors, and Maryland State Police Barrack Commanders challenge their law enforcement personnel to design community-outreach programs and events, to recruit community partners, and to conduct enhanced educational and enforcement initiatives. In Wicomico County, state and local law enforcement officials will be conducting an aggressive driving campaign, entitled the Smooth Operator Program. The following letter, read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends...

GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?
Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the busines s of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington . Our president knows the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution..

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

Massive Nighttime Concrete Pour Planned For New Indian River Inlet Bridge

Indian River -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Skanska USA Civil Southeast, Inc. and Thoro-Good's Concrete Company are teaming up this week to pour 1,000 cubic yards of concrete into the first pylon on the northside of the new Indian River Inlet Bridge. The massive concrete pour will take 12 hours to complete and represents the first major concrete pour of the more than 36,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete that will be used to construct the bridge.

To successfully complete the pour, the construction team, bridge builder Skanska and Thoro-Good's will be working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009. The pour is scheduled to occur at night for several reasons. For one, cooler nighttime air temperature will help to lower the initial concrete temperature, which will in turn reduce the temperature of the overall concrete in the pour. Specifically, the air temperature must be at least 30 degrees cooler than the concrete temperature. Concrete typically is a heat generator, and therefore, the concrete will mixed with ice and cold water to keep the concrete temperature within an acceptable range. Maintaining the correct temperature reduces the possibility of the concrete cracking. A concrete pour of this size will generate more heat than your average construction-size concrete project.

In addition, the nighttime pour will make it easier for the concrete trucks to deliver the product, and means less impact on the traveling public. Since the work is occurring on the northside of the bridge, noise should not be an issue for nearby campers or residents.

Sussex County-based Thoro-Good's Concrete, established in 1958, employs 50+/- workers. The company was selected by Skanska to supply all the cast-in-place concrete for the bridge at a cost of approximately $4 million. Thoro-Good's will provide all the concrete for the bridge from their two plants in Millsboro. Large pours are nothing new for Thoro-Good's as they have poured as much as 1,700 cubic yards of concrete in one day for other construction projects.

Local companies such as Thoro-Good's are financially benefitting from the construction of the bridge. They are able to keep their equipment running, keep employees working, provide a much needed product for the bridge and are very appreciative for the work during these otherwise tight times. Thoro-Good's Gerald Miller notes, "Thoro-Good's is honored to be a major contributor to the bridge project."

The pour will consist of 1,000 cubic yards of concrete being trucked to the site by 111 trucks (each truck plans to carry 9 cubic yards of concrete). The concrete mix is made up of sand, stone, cement, ice, water, slag cement (byproduct of steel) and other beneficial chemical additives. Deliveries will continue throughout the 12 hour timeframe. Once at the site, each concrete truck will discharge the concrete mix into a hydraulic concrete pump with an attached large (elephant-like trunk) hose which will dispense the concrete into the pylon footer. Once the concrete has been poured in the footer, two layers of black thermal blankets will be placed over the top of the footer to absorb the heat generated by the sun. These measures are being taken to ensure that once the concrete is poured, it does not crack which could diminish the strength of the concrete. Teams of inspectors and workers from Skanska, DelDOT and Thoro-Good's will be onsite throughout the pour to ensure that the materials are meeting industry and contract requirements and that the pour is a success.

Baby Cut From Womb Found Alive

WORCESTER, Mass. (July 30) - A baby girl cut from her mother's womb was found and a woman arrested after acquaintances became suspicious of her claims that she had just given birth, police said.

The body of the girl's mother was found Monday in a closet at her Worcester apartment. It was not until an autopsy that authorities discovered the fetus was missing.

Why We must Stop OBAMACARE

Under the provisions of OBAMACARE:

* The government will have real-time access to the finances and bank accounts of all Americans under the plan, providing for electronic funds transfers into and out of bank accounts as the government requires.

* Illegal aliens, currently estimated by the U.S. government to number in excess of 12 million people, will receive free government health insurance coverage. Moreover, all health providers will be required to provide health services in Spanish, so illegal immigrants can understand the care they are being given.

* A health choices commissioner established by the bill will audit the books of all employers who choose to self-insure under the Obama plan. If the government determines a self-insurer does not have the financial resources to cover employees, the government will force the employer to shut down their self-insurance plan.

* A panel of medical and "other experts" appointed to a Health Benefits Advisory Committee will determine what medical treatments you can get and how much the government will pay. If you or your doctor think you need a medical treatment that is outside the government's approved scheme, you are out of luck.

* The government will tell all practitioners in the health care industries, including physicians with surgical specialties, what fees can be charged and how much income they can make.

* The government will allow groups such as ACORN to sign individual Americans up for government-provided health care. In the process, ACORN will be allowed to collect a wide range of personal information, including whether the individuals being enrolled suffer from any mental disorders or cognitive impairments.

* The government will penalize hospitals that readmit patients the government considers were involved in a "preventable readmission."

* The government will set up an Advance Care Planning Consultation unit which will determine what type of "end-of-life" treatment an individual may receive. This can include rationing of health care and drugging of patients the government determines do not qualify for advanced medical services in their elderly years.

* Under the H.R. 3200 "Obamacare" plan, the government will use taxpayer funds to demand all health care providers conduct abortions.

Reading the bill, there is no aspect of medical care the government will not control with an iron hand under the Obama administration plan.

If you are an unborn baby or a senior citizen, Obamacare provides you a very uncertain future.

Put simply, H.R. 3200 nationalizes the health care system to the extent that government bureaucrats, rather than physicians and patients, determine health care pricing, services that are provided, services a person may receive all dictated by government from cradle to grave.

Page 102 of H.R. 3200 forces anyone eligible for Medicaid to be enrolled in Medicaid, a provision which allows the government to require the senior citizen to expend all savings and sell all property before the person receives government health care benefits.

Page 124 of H.R. 3200 even prevents any lawsuits from being filed against the government health care price fixing schemes permitted by the legislation.

Page 167 of H.R. 3200 places a surtax of 2.5 percent on the gross income of any individual found by the government to be without acceptable health care. Employers pay an 8.0 percent surtax if they lack a public health care plan.

Just to hide the likelihood that the government takeover of medical services will increase the taxes of nearly every taxpayer, H.R. 3200 has the audacity to say on page 203 that "the tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as a tax."

If Congress adjourns for the August recess before passing some form of H.R. 3200, then health care reform legislation is a dead issue for this year. (Newsmax)
