GOP TO BE BLAMED FOR PLUNGING OFF 'FISCAL CLIFF'

If Republicans don’t go along with calls by President Obama for higher taxes and the nation goes off a “fiscal cliff,” then the GOP is to blame, says a Democratic congressman.

“We face a fiscal cliff,” said Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., on CNN. “They (Republicans) face a very important question on this fiscal cliff. Are they going to drive off the fiscal cliff with the message that nobody in the country gets tax relief unless very high income earners get a bonus tax break? That’s the message they want to send to the American people. I just think it’s unsustainable.”
Van Hollen is among those who favor tax increases as a way to reduce the national deficit.

Reid Moves To Limit GOP Filibusters

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will try to push through a change to Senate rules that would limit the GOP’s ability to filibuster bills.

Speaking in the wake of Tuesday’s election, which boosted Senate Democrats’ numbers slightly, Mr. Reid said he won’t end filibusters altogether but that the rules need to change so that the minority party cannot use the legislative blocking tool as often.

“I think that the rules have been abused and that we’re going to work to change them,” he told reporters. “We’re not going to do away with the filibuster but we’re going to make the Senate a more meaningful place.”

Adopt-A-Family Seeks Donors to Help Provide Gifts This Holiday Season for Delaware’s Children and Seniors in Need

In Delaware, the Human Services Council, Inc., in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Services, is seeking individuals, businesses and organizations to help provide holiday gifts for thousands of the state’s children and seniors living in poverty or in low-income households.
Each holiday season, donors are anonymously matched to a senior or family of one or more children through the Holiday Adopt-A-Family program. Adopt-A-Family provides the donor with the age and gender of each child in the family and a brief description of the circumstances that led to their need for assistance. The donor then provides gift cards or certificates for the head-of-household to use in buying holiday gifts. The recommended gift is $100 to $125 per child, with a gift certificate for the parent optional but thoughtful.
Adopt-A-Family is a Delaware tradition of neighbors helping neighbors,” Gov. Jack Markell said. “I offer my profound gratitude to those who provide a holiday to children, families and seniors who would otherwise go without one.  Adopt-A-Family showcases the best of our community and the best of the holiday spirit.”

Requiem For America

Folks,

Last night’s election was most disturbing and disheartening to me. It certainly was not a landslide victory for Romney as I had predicted. I now realize that I was thinking with my heart and not my head. I did not want to believe that our country had changed so much, and that a failure like Obama could actually get re-elected and be given an opportunity to “Finish the job”. “Finish the Job” are his words from his acceptance speech, last night. Therein lies the problem. To the uneducated and ill-informed Obama Zombies, “Finish the Job” means that he will continue to work to improve the economy, create jobs, etc. To Obama, and those of us who possess critical thinking skills and have ears and actually listen, “Finish the Job” means to “Fundamentally Transform America”! Obama’s plan has been and will continue to be to diminish America and his pledge to “Finish the job” is a threat that is actually applauded by the numbskulls that voted for him, support him and cheer for him.

This morning, all the pundits are offering their worthless opinions about how Obama won and how the Republicans lost and what needs to be done. These self-avowed intellects are blaming Romney’s strategy, Romney’s timidity, the Republican Party establishment, the media, and on and on. Many believe that a more Conservative candidate is the solution. Others believe that the Tea Party posture is too extreme and it frightens the electorate. Still others believe the Republicans need to find a way to attract single women, Blacks, Latinos, and Gays. In other words, the Republicans need to become “Democrat Light” if they want to win.

Folks, the problem is not the candidate, nor the Republican Party. Romney was a great choice and he would have been a great president. The problem is not the Republican platform or the Tea Party tugs to the right. The problem is that the Republicans are selling products, values, beliefs, that too many of the present day electorate ain’t buying. The Republicans/Conservatives are selling what the people don’t want…..accountability, self-sufficiency, competition, success, hard work, honesty, respect, family values, God, Pro-Life, American Exceptionalism, traditional marriage, border control and legal immigration, sanctity of life, Constitutional Rights and freedoms, smaller government, less dependence on government, less taxes, fiscal responsibility, freedom to get rich, freedom to own firearms, freedom of religion, free speech, etc.

America has changed!

It’s not the candidate and it’s not the platform. It’s the changed electorate. This is no longer Post WW II America. That generation is gone and those values are gone. The last generation with solid American values is mine and we are dying off daily. We are the sons and daughters of the Greatest Generation. All the following generations (my children and their children) are kids from the 60’s and 70’s with different values towards America, fiscal responsibility, world politics, drugs, music, entertainment, fashion, language, education, work ethic, etc. Not all of these generations, but too many!

Today’s Americans see things in a different way. They see:
Abortion….not murder
Free contraceptives……not Freedom of Religion
Gun control…….not 2nd Amendment rights
Fairness….not competition
Government assistance……not independence
Gay marriage and tolerance…….not values and beliefs
Illegal immigration and a “live and let live” attitude/lawlessness……..not border control
A One World mentality……..not American Exceptionalism
Spend more than we earn…….not fiscal responsibility
Cut defense spending and spend more on social justice…..not peace through strength
Tax the rich/successful more……..not encourage success and entrepreneurialism
Divisive class warfare…….not “E Pluribus Unum”

Folks, I fear that today’s electorate is the proverbial dog that caught the truck. They are not going to understand the consequences of their actions until it’s too late and the worst part of it is, there is nothing we can do to prevent this!

We can preach until the cows come home. We are fighting against the times, the education system, the media, the New World Order.

All we can do is look at our America as the Shining City on the hill that once existed. America will become the legend, like Camelot. Tales will be written about America and movies will be made. Songs will be sung and future generations will wistfully gaze up to the heavens as they privately (and perhaps secretly) muse about how wonderful such a place as America must have been. It’s a Camelot story and at the same time a Planet of the Apes tale. My grand-children will read that …………”….for one brief shining moment there was a place called Camelot/America”!

Farewell, America.
God bless the land that I loved!

They're working alongside New York and New Jersey emergency managers to ensure clear lines of communication. The agency has brought additional food, water, blankets and generators to distribution points. Meanwhile, tt has increased the amount of rental aid by a quarter. That helps storm survivors pay for shelter and some utilities.

Who Will Replace Hillary?

Now that President Barack Obama has won a second term, speculation begins on the nextforeign-policy leaders. U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice had been a favorite to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is retiring. But Rice might not get confirmed by the Senate. Republicans have criticized her for suggesting an angry, spontaneous mob attacked the Benghazi consulate in September. Obama could make Rice his National Security Advisor without going to the Senate. The Associated Press writes other contenders for the top State position include the current National Security Advisor Tom Donilon or, in a spirit of bipartisanship, former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel or former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman.

Appeals Court Hears Arguments Against Legislative District Maps

In a Maryland Court of Appeals hearing Wednesday, opponents of Maryland’s newly redrawn state legislative map claimed that the state is violating a provision of the state constitution by crossing county boundaries for unnecessary, partisan purposes when creating senatorial districts

Although the reapportionment falls within the required 10% population deviation between the largest and smallest district, opponents say the map violates the “one person, one vote” provision in the U.S. Constitution because the map overpopulates districts in rural areas of the state, while urban and suburban districts are underpopulated.

“This, I believe, is all part of process,” said petitioner Jim Bouchat. “I do not believe that this institution will grant me my judgement. It is my intent to petition the United State Supreme Court, I believe it’s time for case law from the 1960s to be reviewed and potentially overturned to reflect the new context of our historical time.”

INVESTIGATING BENGHAZI: House Panel to Hold Hearing on Libya

A House committee is planning to hold a hearing next week on the Libya consulate attack, following up on an issue that Republicans had emphasized before the presidential election in questioning President Obama's foreign policy record.

Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the consulate in Benghazi. A local Libyan extremist group is suspected of carrying out the attack, but the Obama administration has been criticized for its confusing explanation for the strike and for security warnings that apparently weren't heeded.

The House Intelligence Committee will hold its hearing on the attack on Nov. 15, Fox News has learned. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director David Petraeus and Matt Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, are expected to testify.

How Obama Could Change The Supreme Court

While the nation's highest court barely got a mention this election season, President Barack Obama could reshape the conservative-leaning Supreme Court now that he has won.
To be sure, two of the court's oldest justices are liberals: 79-year-old Ruth Bader Ginsburg and 74-year-old Stephen Breyer.
But other septuagenarians fill the court's less liberal wing, too – namely the mercurial swing vote Anthony Kennedy and the bombastic right-winger Antonin Scalia, both of whom are 76.
If Kennedy retires, Obama can replace him with a justice who more frequently sides with liberals on issues from employee rights to class-action lawsuits, Daniel Fisher writes for Forbes.

WHAT WAS MITT ROMNEY DOING THE MORNING AFTER LOSING THE ELECTION? WINNING

The morning after the election, as conservatives everywhere were still trying to come to terms with the reality of another four years of President Barack Obama, the now former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney was busy being a dad, husband and grandfather. A winner.
In a heartwarming photo tweeted by Garret Jackson, one of Romney’s close personal aides, the Republican can be seen unwinding on Wednesday morning, surrounded by his kids and grandchildren near his campaign headquarters in Boston, an exhausting and hard fought presidential campaign now officially behind him. The Romney clan can be seen drinking a gallon of chocolate milk.
“Gov hanging out with family this morning. What an incredible family. So blessed to be so close to them,” the accompanying message read.

Obama Re-election Will Spark Soaring Inflation

A newly re-elected President Barack Obama will continue encouraging loose monetary policies that will fuel inflation rates down the road, and investors need to get ready now, said famed commodities investor Jim Rogers.

Under Obama's first term in office, the Federal Reserve slashed interest rates to near zero and pumped the economy with trillions of dollars in fresh liquidity via a monetary policy tool known as quantitative easing, under which the U.S. central bank buys bonds from banks and floods the economy with excess money supply to encourage investing and hiring.

Republican challenger Mitt Romney has said he opposes such policy and suggested he would not renew Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's term when it expires in January 2014.

O'Malley Wants Change In Petition Referendum Process

Governor Martin O'Malley says it is time for lawmakers to reconsider the requirements that voters can use to get legislation before voters, noting the current process maybe "too easy."
Three of the seven ballot questions voters approved Tuesday were the result of referendum petitions.
"It's probably been made a little too easy.  There was a requirement that required 50,000 actual physical signatures.  Because of the Internet that has been so easy to do electronically, that the legislature probably needs to revisit that," O'Malley told WBAL News early Wednesday as supporters of same sex marriage gathered to celebrate passage of their ballot question.
Opponents of same sex marriage, the DREAM Act, and congressional redistricting collected thousands of signatures to get all three issues on the ballot.

Muslim Brotherhood: Obama Needs To ‘Accept The Will Of The Arab People’

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Islamists in the Middle East are speaking out following President Barack Obama’s re-election Tuesday night.
The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood feels that the only foreign policy change Obama can bring is by “accepting the will of the Arab people.”
“We must rely on ourselves and on our resources and build our country,” Issam Al-Aryan, a top Muslim Brotherhood official, said, according to The Times of Israel. “In the absence of direct American influence, Egypt can affect and lead the process of building a democratic and constitutional regime that will become a dream for African and the southern hemisphere.”
Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood wants to make Shariah Law the main source of the country’s new constitution.
