BREAKING NEWS: ANOTHER ARMED ROBBERY SECONDS AGO IN SALISBURY!
A Letter To The Editor
Dear Joe,
In light of recent events, locally, nationally, globally...I did post about "Idiocracy" a little-known sleeper film, that, well, if you actually haven't seen it, you can't realize the impact it has for us all.
It's supposed to be satire, but it's coming to the point that it's no longer satire.
9 PM tonight, Comedy Channel, for those who can get it, is a MUST WATCH. Yes, you will laugh at times, but often it strikes so close to the bone that it's painful. A very enlightening film. If you could put the word out, it would be appreciated. Enlightening others to the status of life we nearly live in and what our future CAN be unless we retake control.

Lots of others, Joe, watch this movie, if you haven't already.

More Salisbury Crime Updates From Last Night
I'm told it was absolutely mayhem all night last night for the SPD & SFD.
There was a hit and run last night right outside the Hospital when they were taking Ted Shea into PRMC. The guy smashed into a vehicle at Vine & Rt. 13 and SPD was able to finally catch up with the guy on Eastern Shore Drive. I'm told he was allegedly drunk as a skunk. I didn't know skunks drank.
There were overdoses last night like there was no tomorrow as well.
Finally, there was an Attempted Robbery or a Robbery at the 7-11 at Rt. 50 and Isabella Street. The Robber had a knife. Apparently, (I'm told) that two guys tried to apprehend the Robber and were hit with the butt end of the knife. I would think they would have video of this guy as well because they're loaded with cameras in that joint.
When I received the call about this information my Source said, yeah Joe, crime is way down in the City, being very sarcastic. Once again, I'm sure Chief Webster was sitting back in his recliner or out at the local Pub in the Crisfield area enjoying the peace and quiet living they provide down there. I mean, think about it. If you had your choice, wouldn't you prefer to work here and live elsewhere if you could get the right kind of money for your home?
If you want the same old crap, vote for Gary Comegys so he can keep Chief Webster in Office running the Police Department. Then you can also depend on Gordy spending all the Fire Department money and having no accountability for allegedly just giving things away that belong to the City Taxpayers.
CRIME IS NOT DOWN AND THE SPD NEEDS TO BE HONEST WITH THEIR PRESS RELEASES ANY MORE.

Letter To Editor Daily Times Submitted 2/12/09
Bob Caldwell -- Your Candidate for Mayor
Sir:
Please allow me to discuss misinformation in your recent article about an attempt to induce tenants to vote for Gary Comegys and certain candidates for City Council in the upcoming Salisbury Election. Like Mr. Comegys, I am a candidate for the office of Mayor.
I have not discussed with Councilwoman Campbell a letter written to his tenants by landlord Richard Insley that is mentioned in that article
Thus it is strange (to put it mildly) that the article states "Caldwell [is] said to buy into [Ms.} Campbell's alleged tirade to oust renters from residential neighborhoods." Your anonymous source is incorrect; that assertion is completely untrue.
Please identify the person(s) who "said" that - and explain the "alleged tirade" remark, because I am not aware of it. And I have never suggested, much less supported, prohibiting the rental of homes in single-family neighborhoods. That assertion, besides being untrue, is patently absurd.
In light of his personal interest as a landlord, it's not surprising that Richard Insley is again trying to influence his tenants to do his bidding. He did so two years ago when Mr. Comegys ran for reelection to City Council. This latest letter to his tenants, as usual, falsely portrays Mr. Comegys' opponents, including me. And, it should be noted that Mr. Comegys voted to reappoint Mr. Insley to the City's Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals upon the request of Mayor Tilghman.
Insley's atempt to drive a wedge between tenants and other residents of Salisbury is truly despicable. It's time for it to stop.

Rham Emanuel Doesn't Pay TAXES Either
Why doesn't Rahm Emanuel pay property taxes?
According to the Cook County Assessor's website, the Chicago home of four-term Democrat Congressman and likely new White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, doesn't exist. While the address of 4228 North Hermitage is listed as Emanuel's residence on the Illinois State Board of Elections' website, there seems to be no public record of Emanuel ever paying property taxes on this home.
The Cook County Assessor's and Cook County Treasurer's online records indicate Emanuel's Chicago neighbors pay between $3,500 and $7,000 annually. However, Illinois Review has been unable to locate any evidence that the former Clinton advisor and investment banker is paying his fair share of Cook County's notoriously high tax burden.
Why wouldn't 4228 North Hermitage property owners Rahm Emanuel and wife Amy Rule pay property taxes? One reason may be because Emanuel and Rule declared their 4228 North Hermitage home as the office location for their personal non-profit foundation called the "Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Foundation". As the non-profit's headquarters, their home could be exempt from paying property taxes.
In January 2007, USA Today reported on Emanuel's foundation:
The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust was formed in 2002, when the Chicago lawmaker was first elected. The former Clinton White House aide and his wife, Amy Rule, are its only donors. Emanuel was an investment banker after serving in the White House.
The trust reported having $2,900 on hand at the end of 2005 after receiving $34,000 from Emanuel and donating more than $31,000
During the past three years, Emanuel's charity gave nearly $25,000 to the Anshe Emet synagogue and school [a private school that the Rahm/Rule children attend]..., and $15,000 to the foundation run by former president Bill Clinton. It also gave $14,000 to Marwen, a Chicago charity that provides art classes and other educational help to low-income children. Rule is on Marwen's board.
(He doesn't pay any property taxes and he gets income tax write-offs by donating $25000 to the Synagogue and other amounts of money to his Foundation. This allows his kids to attend school tuition-free and allows him to expense a lot of personal expenses. What a racket!
Take all your income and donate it back to yourself via tax exempt orgs where you can spend it on as expenses to operate your car, pay the electric and water bills, etc. I guess if you are a hypocritical "liberal" democrat who advocates raising taxes on everyone else, this is all permissible.)
Emanuel's 4228 North Hermitage home is one of the largest in the neighborhood, with a side yard that appears to be a vacant lot, making the Emanuels' property the largest portion on the block.
Other North Hermitage homes on Emanuel's block are valued in the $500,000 plus range. According to Cook County Treasurer's website, the Chicago owners of nearby 118 year old 4222 North Hermitage pay almost $6800 annually. The family at 4224 North Heritage pays $6000 each year in property taxes.
President Elect Obama - himself a connected, Chicago insider who has benefited from questionable land deals - may find it difficult to explain why his very own Chicago-based chief of staff doesn't pay property taxes like the "little guy" he claims to represent. Or perhaps allowing his wealthy friends to avoid taxes is part of Obama's trickle down redistribution economics. It's certainly the kind of "change" we Illinoisans can believe in...since we're quite familiar with it here in the federal indictment land of Daley, Blagojevich, Madigan, Jones, Cellini, Rezko, etc., etc.
A Letter To The Editor In Support Of Campbell
When election time comes, many people make the same mistakes by electing the wrong people to office. This time, I want to ensure to vote for the right candidate for Salisbury City Council. Hence, I strongly support Debbie Campbell. During her four-year tenure as councilwoman, she has reached out to supporters and nonsupporters on important issues affecting citizens and taxpayers of Salisbury.
Certainly as a leader, she has earned my respect and support; I highly recommend her for a second term.
In addition, Campbell -- like no other local politician -- has truly shown an interest in neighborhood issues such as crime watch and residency. Four years ago, I disagreed with her support on the 4-to-2 ordinance; I still do. Yet her advocacy and determination to work for the people who sent her to council chambers is admirable in all respects.
Her sincere concerns about public safety -- and, of course everything related to taxpayers pockets -- are some of the many qualities for which she should be returned to serve another four years.
At this time, I am not impressed with any of the four candidates for mayor. I know they will say and do whatever they can to get elected; isn't that politics?
Perhaps I will abstain from voting for any of them this coming general election and just observe how the winner does during his first term.

Sipping Vodka
After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done. The monsignor replied, 'When I am worried about getting nervous On the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip.'
So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice.
At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink.
He proceeded to talk up a storm.
Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:
1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.
2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.
3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.
4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.
5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass.
6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.
7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and the spooky
8) David slew Goliath, he did not kick the sh*t out of him.
9) When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he was stoned off his ass.
10)We do not refer to the cross as the 'Big T.'
11)When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, 'take this and eat it for it is my body.' He did not say ' Eat me'
12)The Virgin Mary is not called ' Mary with the Cherry,.
13)The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for the grub, Yeah God.
14)Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St. Peter's not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's.
My Kind Of Sheriff
SHERIFF GRADY JUDD, POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA
Some 'dirtbag' in Polk County Florida who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop ended up 'executing' the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. A state wide manhunt ensued.
Now here's the kicker:
Naturally, the media asked why they shot him 68 times.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, told the Orlando Sentinel: “That's all the bullets we had !!” (Talk about an all-time classic answer !!!)
Justice Served. Bullets are much cheaper than 40 years of meals, cable and civil rights.
Here’s the best part of this story: It’s TRUE ! ! !

Tiger Woods Speaks At Inaugeration
"I grew up in a military family - and my role models in life were my Mom and Dad, Lt. Colonel Earl Woods. My dad was a Special Forces operator and many nights friends would visit our home. They represented every branch of the service, and every rank. In my Dad, and in those guests, I saw first hand the dedication and commitment of those who serve. They come from every walk of life. From every part of our country. Time and again, across generations, they have defended our safety in the dark of night and far from home.
I am honored that the military is such an important part, not just of my personal life, but of my professional one as well. The golf tournament we do each year here in Washington is a testament to those unsung heroes. I am the son of a man who dedicated his life to his country, family and the military, and I am a better person for it. In the summer of 1864, Abraham Lincoln, the man at whose memorial we stand, spoke to the 164th Ohio Regiment and said: 'I am greatly obliged to you, and to all who have come forward at the call of their country.' Just as they have stood tall for our country - we must always stand by and support the men and women in uniform and their families.
Comment:
I have never been more proud of Tiger Woods than when I heard his 2-minute tribute to the military at the Inaugural Celebration in Washington DC. You know he was greatly pressured to be there. You know the liberals have been mad at him for a decade for not joining their ranks. You know he didn't want to be there. So instead of paying homage to Obama, he paid tribute to our soldiers. Not one time did Tiger mention Obama or the inauguration or the new administration. You know, he knew he would disappoint, even anger, many, many liberals. But Tiger is his own man. His old man taught him to be his own man. Somewhere in that cold, gray Washington sky, old Earl was smiling down on his son.

U.S. PRESIDENT HARRY TRUMAN --- THE LATER YEARS
Historians have written the only asset he had when he died was the house he lived in, which was in Independence Missouri . On top of that, his wife inherited the house from her Mother.
When he retired from office in 1952, his income was a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year. Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an 'allowance' and, later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year.
After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess drove home to Missouri by themselves. There were no Secret Service following them.
When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, 'You don't want me. You want the office of the President, and that doesn't belong to me. It belongs to the American people and it's not for sale.'
Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, 'I don't consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise.'
He never owned his own home and as president he paid for all of his own travel expenses and food.
Modern politicians have found a new level of success in cashing in on the Presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale.
Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, 'My choices early in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference.

One Last Chance To Fight This Bill
I cannot believe with the amount of hunters and shooting enthusiasts in PA that the legislature can pass such a thing but if they do just remember some of you wanted change and now you got it. enjoy.........
Its already started...Ammunition Accountability Legislation
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that Pelosi and her gang of allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!
The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, providing a data base of all Ammunition sales.
So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unl ess the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.
(Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your guns!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri, New Jersey, New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina, Tennessee , and Washington .
Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!
To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm
