Dover Man Arrested For Threatening Emails Directed At Governor

Dover – The Delaware State Police have arrested a 50-year-old Dover man for several harassment charges after he was responsible for sending a series of emails that directed alarming and offensive statements towards Governor Jack Markell.

The investigation began after representatives from the Governor's office alerted state police about receiving alarming emails that were sent to the cost saving suggestion public mailbox on Sunday, March 22, 2009. This public mailbox, which is located at Delaware.gov -- the Official Website of the First State, was developed for citizens to share their suggestions, publicly or anonymously, on ways Governor Markell’s administration can reduce costs and increase fiscal responsibility.

The ensuing investigation by DSP Troop 3 Major Crime’s detectives revealed that several emails made alarming statements that caused concern for the safety of the Governor, which prompted officials to retrieve the internet protocol (IP) address from the sent email. Records obtained by detectives from the High Technology Crimes Unit (HTCU) revealed the IP address was assigned to Comcast Cable Internet Service. A subsequent subpoena directed to Comcast to retrieve the subscriber information on the Comcast account revealed Steven R. Lenhart, 50 of Dyke Branch Road, Dover was the registered user.

On Saturday, March 28, several additional emails were sent to the cost saving suggestion public mailbox where additional threats were made. These emails were linked to the same IP address as Lenhart.

Today, detectives executed a search warrant at Lenhart’s residence and seized a home computer. Additionally, detectives learned Lenhart was employed as a correctional officer for the State of Delaware. DSP detectives contacted him and learned he was responsible for sending the emails. He was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Lenhart was arrested for ten misdemeanor counts of Harassment. He was released after posting a $10,000 secured bail and ordered to have no contact with the Governor. Please be advised this is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be provided at this time.

Note: Questions regarding Lenhart’s employment can be directed to Mr. John Painter of the Department of Corrections. He can be reached at 302.857.5232.

ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS STORY

It has been reported that a 28 year old woman went into minor surgery today at PRMC and died. The Hospital is keeping quiet about it so details are hard to get right now. Once this is read, however, expect the MSM to jump on it and get the rest of the story. I'm told it happened around 2:30 PM today.

There's a good chance his Good Behavior Time will be taken away. Ray Lewis was scheduled to get out of Jail in 18 more days. Stupid is as stupid does. News you only get from Salisbury News Folks. We'll try to keep you updated.

Obam Bows To Saudi King

Greeting called 'most unbecoming for president of the United States'

© 2009 WorldNetDaily

President Obama greeted the king of Saudi Arabia with a full bow from the waist yesterday, a move one commentator described as a violation of protocol and not worthy of the office he holds.

"I am quite certain that this is not the protocol, and is most unbecoming a President of the United States," writes Clarice Feldman in an American Thinker commentary.

The situation developed as leaders of the world attending the G20 summit in London assembled for a photograph to mark the event.

In this first image, Obama has approached the king and bends from the waist until his head is nearly at the monarch's waist:

Barrie Tilghman And Or Mike Dunn Won't Be Going Very Far

It's no wonder you're seeing Barrie Tilghman holding meetings just days before she's expected to leave Office as well as Mike Dunn at all the Debates.

You see Folks, Barrie Tilghman set something into her Budget many of you are not aware of. It's a whole new position for the City of Salisbury. Remember Gary Comegys barking at Urban Salisbury in their debate a few weeks ago, saying he doesn't think they've done much for the Downtown area.

Well, there was a very good reason for his being so blunt. The scheme is, Barrie took away $20,000.00 in the City's Budget from Urban Salisbury claiming it just wasn't right for this economy. Barrie Tilghman WANTS Urban Salisbury to fold.

Instead, Barrie created a new position funded with $20,000.00, (hmmmmmm) called the "Main Street Coordinator." The position pays out $20,000.00 a year, (hmmmmmm) and it has been reported that either Barrie Tilghman OR Mike Dunn will fill that part time position.

Tonight at 5:30 there will be a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce and I strongly recommend you attend this meeting. The scams continue under Gary Comegys, Barrie Tilghman and Mike Dunn. You better be very careful who you vote for and you better respect what we do here at Salisbury News because without us you'd never know about these kind of things until after the fact.

By all means, contact Gary Comegys and ask him why he never said anything or brought it up. Then call the Daily Times and ask them why they never mentioned it either. Come on now. Any time something big happens like Urban Salisbury calling it quits, you just have to dig deep enough to know Barrie & Gary are behind some kind of scam.

Robinson Spends The Day At Motor Vehicle

As you can see, Mr. Robinson has finally tagged his vehicle and made it legal today. He called me to let me know it has a temporary tag till the end of May and he finally got insurance on the vehicle. While it sat illegally for many months without insurance and or a legal tag, you should be comforted to know that when and if you see this vehicle on the road after the temporary tag is removed and the regular tags go on, it should have been Maryland Inspected and would then carry insurance for your safety and others.

The Daily Times Stinks

by "Melanie", posted without permission by Two Sentz

We've been watching as the Daily Times marches steadily towards its endorsement of Gary Comegys, thinking that they couldn't possibly be more biased. Today, they set a new low. In an article about potential voter fraud in Salisbury, the Times quotes Jim Ireton and Gary Comegys, and then goes to another source for his insight: A FRIGGIN' MEMBER OF SAPOA! When asked whether he thought landlords were buying votes, the landlord, shockingly, accused Ireton of claiming this as a simple campaign ploy. Unbelievable. Their "expert" witness is a member of SAPOA and he finds that there is no campaign fraud from SAPOA.

Here's what the Daily Times knows but did not tell you: there were 3 witnesses to the "alleged" claim of voter fraud, 1 of whom who has no affiliation whatsoever with Jim's campaign. They also did not tell you a member of Comegys' campaign team was in the area just before the "alleged" claim took place. They also did not tell you that Comegys had to file his financial report yesterday, and guess which organization completely dominates his fundraising? Wait for it . . . wait for it . . . SAPOA! Entirely coincidental, I'm sure.

So the Daily Times makes it appear as though Jim Ireton threw out a rash charge (which I'm sure will be a big feature of their endorsement of Comegys), knowing everything that I have reported here.

The sad truth is that the majority of Salisbury voters look to the Daily Times for their news, and the elderly in particular do not read blogs or even Story Chat. So the Daily Times account is gospel. If I were voting soley based on what the Daily Times has reported, I would believe that Jim Ireton is an irrational guy who hates Salisbury and wants to work part time as mayor to destroy the city, while Gary Comegys is the voice of reason out to represent all of the people of Salisbury.

It is time to roll up our sleeves and get serious. If you haven't done so, write a letter in support of Jim Ireton (you can do it online in the "contact us" section). Volunteer this weekend. Talk to your neighbors. If you have friends and family members who live in the retirement communities, please talk to them. It is difficult enough to win a campaign against an establishment candidate with lots of money, but far more difficult when the local newspaper abrogates its responsibility to be unbiased in the news section.

Foreign detainees 'have US right'

A US judge has ruled that foreign suspects held by the US in Afghanistan have the right to challenge their detention in US civilian courts.

A US judge has ruled that foreign suspects held by the US in Afghanistan have the right to challenge their detention in US civilian courts.

The US Supreme Court ruled last year that detainees at Guantanamo had such a right. The justice department later said those held at Bagram did not.

Judge Bates said the cases were essentially the same.

The Myth Of 90 Percent: Only A Small Fraction Of Guns In Mexico Come From U.S.

You've heard this shocking "fact" before -- on TV and radio, in newspapers, on the Internet and from the highest politicians in the land: 90 percent of the weapons used to commit crimes in Mexico come from the United States.

-- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it to reporters on a flight to Mexico City.

-- CBS newsman Bob Schieffer referred to it while interviewing President Obama.

-- California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said at a Senate hearing: "It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors ... come from the United States."

-- William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified in the House of Representatives that "there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States."

There's just one problem with the 90 percent "statistic" and it's a big one:

It's just not true.

Pohanka Gives Back

Isn't John Robinson On Probation?

While John Robinson purchased this cube van from a local U-Haul Dealer, he used the tag that came with the truck and was supposed to return it once he got it to his place of business. Months went by when U-Haul realized their tag hadn't been returned and they went over and confiscated the tag.
John Robinson then took the tag off the front of his personal vehicle and placed it on the rear of this truck illegally and is breaking the law, photos don't lie. Whoops Judge, I must have put it on the wrong vehicle.
While Davis Ruark is a regular to Salisbury News, it seems clear to me that this guy is violating probation. There's nothing legal about this.

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Suspect(s): Scott M. Keatts, 34, of Spruce Avenue in Oak Hill, Wilmington, Delaware

Resume: Last night, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a 911 caller advised she and her boyfriend were being followed by a subject whom they were threatened by.

A few short minutes later, Troopers intercepted the 911 caller, and the suspect, in a parking lot at Route 2 and Duncan Road. Here they took the alleged suspect, Scott Keatts, into custody.

The investigation that followed revealed the original 911 caller and her boyfriend (to be referred to hereinafter as the victims) responded to the Chestnut Run Shopping Center. Should Begging Be Illegal?

Being Poor Just Got Harder

Bangladesh has made begging illegal and intends to eliminate the practice from the streets of the impoverished country within five years.

Hundreds of thousands of people depend on begging to survive in Bangladesh, where 40 percent of the 144 million population earn less than a dollar a day.

"Anyone caught begging will be put in jail for a month. This includes people who pretend to be ill or use a disability to get money," said an official.

A Comment About PAC14

It may not be illegal, but last night at 8 on pac 14 there was an airing of an Ireton Comegys debate/speech and on the silent screen was printed with an apology that Jim Ireton's opening speech would not have any audio. they didnt close caption it either. it seemed to work fine when comegy's began to talk.

My How We've Grown!

If you combine ALL of the Posts Salisbury News put up in 2007 & 2008 the total comes to 2,579 Posts.

In the first three months of 2009 Salisbury News has already Posted 2,457. More Posts, more Readers and more Comments.

I enjoyed a comment Wymzie put up yesterday on the All American City Post where she mentioned Pocomoke and Salisbury BOTH being considered as candidates for All American Cities, yet crime is through the roof. In 2008 Salisbury News was ranked the #1 Most Influential Political Blog and have already been ranked #1 in 2009, 12 out of 13 weeks straight out of 2,000 Bloggers in the State. I agree Wymzie, we do live in the Twilight Zone!

Hopefully everyone goes out and votes for Jim Ireton on the 7th and we'll finally drop down in rankings as we simply won't have as many stories to cover. If Comegys were to win, well, no other Blogger in the State will have a chance because nothing and I do mean nothing will change. However, with all of the crying going on right now with the Comegys Campaign, I think they know what's in store for them on the evening of the 7th.

Marshall Auctions Sells Development Back To Bank For $5,000,000.00

The failed Heron Ponds was purchased back from the Bank for $5 Mil yesterday with the understanding that they will bring affordable homes to Delmar, Maryland.

Doug Marshall will be working closely with local Developers to sell of the 1,000 lots still available and bring homes starting at $169,000.00 to $229,000.00, where they belong.

The local market just can't deliver buyers in the $300,000.00 to $350,000.00 range any more and these homes should move quickly over the next two years, they're projecting.

The former Developer was $11,000,000.00 deep in debt with the Bank and lost more than $5,000,000.00 on the deal but you win some and you lose some.

Doug even mentioned we might even see some $159,000.00 homes come onto the market here in Delmar. The bid started and ended at $5,000,000.00 and we will see this development completed hopefully within 2 years time.

This Says It ALL, Doesn't It Folks!

Mr. Comegys never misses an opportunity to do whatever it takes to get a vote, even if no one lives there. Complaints like this have been coming in daily and the Slumlords want YOU to believe there are more people out there supporting their Candidate than true supporters who will get out there and vote.

Well there's one thing I can tell you. Tens of thousands of people will see this Post and realize Comegys is a wanna be candidate for Mayor. Some might call it smoke and mirrors and this is a perfect example of phony campaigning. Who would like to bet me that each and every Jim Ireton sign is posted on a property owners property and or a renter than can in fact vote and is registered in the City?

Again, no smoke and mirrors by the Ireton Camp. All honesty and he plays fair.

A Thing Of Beauty

WBOC Website

The following message came in this morning from a loyal reader......

"WBOC is pimping its new website and interactive services in the middle of its
news broadcast. Is this supposed to be news, or is it ok to run a promo in the
middle of what's supposed to be a news broadcast? Would the Daily Times put
promotional material for its own website as the lead story on page one? Probably
not. Is this a smart business move, or just another shameless plug for a company
dying to get eyeballs to its news and website?"

VATICAN HUMOR

After getting all of Pope Benedict's luggage loaded into the limo, (and he doesn't travel light), the driver notices the Pope is still standing on the curb.

'Excuse me, Your Holiness,' says the driver, 'Would you please take your seat so we can leave?'

'Well, to tell you the truth,' says the Pope, 'they never let me drive at the Vatican when I was a cardinal, and I'd really like to drive today.'

'I'm sorry, Your Holiness, but I cannot let you do that. I'd lose my job! What if something should happen?' protests the driver, wishing he'd never gone to work that morning..

'Who's going to tell?' says the Pope with a smile.

Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 205 kph.. (Remember, the Pope is German..)

'Please slow down, Your Holiness!' pleads the worried driver, but the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens.

'Oh, dear God, I'm going to lose my license -- and my job!' moans the driver.

The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio.

'I need to talk to the Chief,' he says to the dispatcher.

The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he's stopped a limo going 205 kph.

'So bust him,' says the Chief.

'I don't think we want to do that, he's really important,' said the cop.

The Chief exclaimed,' All the more reason!'

'No, I mean really important,' said the cop with a bit of persistence.

The Chief then asked, 'Who do you have there, the mayor?'
Cop: 'Bigger.'

Chief: ' A senator?'
Cop: 'Bigger.'

Chief: 'The Prime Minister?'
Cop: 'Bigger.'

'Well,' said the Chief, 'who is it?'

Cop: 'I think it's God!'

The Chief is even more puzzled and curious, 'What makes you think it's God?'

Cop: 'His chauffeur is the Pope!'

INTERNATIONAL POLICE INDOOR SOCCER TOURNAMENT IN FREDERICK THIS WEEKEND

(Frederick, MD) – Brackets aren’t just for college basketball this weekend. The brackets have also been set in the 14th annual Washington D.C. Area Police “Stop the Violence” Futsal (Indoor Soccer) Tournament to be held this weekend at the Linganore High School at Oakdale, 5850 Eaglehead Drive, Ijamsville, Md.

The Maryland State Police is proud to host this international police indoor soccer tournament that is bringing more than 500 athletes, most of whom are police officers, to Frederick County from all across the nation and more than seven foreign countries. The teams will compete for bragging rights and to raise money for area charities, including the memorial fund for a state trooper well-known for his civic activities who was killed while off duty. International teams include players from Bermuda, Toronto, Holland, Germany, Quebec, Belgium, Montenegro, Amsterdam, and Slovenia.

Opening ceremonies for the event will be held Friday, April 3rd, at the Holiday Inn Holidome & Conference Center, 5400 Holiday Drive, Frederick, Md. Maryland State Police Superintendent Colonel Terrence Sheridan, State Senator David Brinkley, and others are expected to welcome guests to the tournament.

The games will begin in earnest at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Linganore High School when the Bermuda Police Department team meets FC Defensor and the Howard County Police team takes on the team from Slovenia. New matches will begin about every 25 minutes and will continue until about 6:00 p.m.

Games will begin at 8:30 on Sunday, when Team Slovenia takes on the New York Enforcers and the Secret Service meets the Bermuda team. A player appearance from the Washington Freedom, a women’s professional soccer team, will occur Sunday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Championship matches are expected to begin about 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The Maryland State Police Aviation Command team will take on the Frederick Rugby team in a special match on Sunday at 9:10 a.m. This will be a poignant match for both teams who will be playing in memory of Maryland State Police First Sergeant Tobin Triebel who, before his untimely death late last year, was a member of both organizations. He was also a well known community volunteer, including a youth soccer coach in Frederick. Part of the proceeds from the tournament will go to the Triebel Family Memorial Trust Fund and be used for the education of Triebel’s two daughters.

U.S. Secret Service Sergeant Jim Oman was a neighbor and friend of Triebel’s and is the main organizer of the tournament. Triebel’s wife and daughters will be volunteering at the event, as will his father from North Carolina. His sister is flying in from California and will play on the Aviation Command team called the Triple T Troopers.

There will be fun outside the gym as well. On Saturday, the Maryland State Police will host a law enforcement vehicle display from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Vehicles will include the State Police command vehicle, armored vehicle, motorcycle, and K-9 units.

Admission to the event is free, but donations will be requested. Souvenir items and food will be on sale.
