BREAKING NEWS: David Recor Resigns

City Council President Lloyd Martin has just announced that, in closed-door meeting prior to tonight's regular council session, the council "mutually agreed to and accepted City Manager David Recor's resignation."

The departure is presumably linked to allegations that Recor had been uncooperative with requests to complete a drug and alcohol screening following a minor traffic accident on Friday, July 10.

It is known that the council met with other City Hall staff members this past Thursday, July 16, to discuss Recor's actions following the incident. These reports apparently painted a very different picture of events than Recor had stated publicly.

A Letter To The Editor 7-20-15

Hello Joe... I am at a frustrated dead end. I am a single woman who owns her own home. I take pride in my home and my yard. I get complements from all my neighbors how great I keep my yard and I do it all myself. I don't hire anyone to cut my grass. I push cut it myself. However there is an house occupied down the street that looks like a haunted house or should be condemned. I have been to several town meetings to complain. I have been told the home owner has been notified by a citation on the door. He is given a certain amount of days. If not cleaned up ..he then gets a certified letter. Then if he doesn't act...the town will hire someone to do the work and it will be added to his county taxes. This all started in May. The bushes have grown to the second story and also cover the entire front door. Grass has only been cut twice. It is a complete eye sore. I pay my taxes! I don't know we're to go from here.

JURY CONVICTS SALISBURY MAN OF MAINTAINING A COMMON NUISANCE; DEFENDANT IS SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS INCARCERATION WITHOUT PAROLE

On June 1, 2015, Keyon Smith, age 33, of Salisbury, Maryland, was convicted by a Wicomico County jury of one count of maintaining a common nuisance and one count of possessing cocaine. The charges stemmed from weeks of undercover work by the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force whereby a search and seizure warrant for Smith’s home and person was issued. When the search and seizure warrant was executed, 39 individually wrapped pieces of crack cocaine were located in Smith’s residence. Smith also had a surveillance system and a safe located within his residence.

Smith was sentenced by the Honorable Leah J. Seaton on Friday, July 17, 2015, to an active period of incarceration of 25 years in the Division of Corrections without the possibility of parole for the common nuisance charge. Judge Seaton sentenced Smith to an additional 4 years for the possession of cocaine. This is Smith’s third felony drug conviction dating back to 2000. He had also been previously convicted of possession of a handgun when prohibited.

The defendant was on parole at the time of the offense for felony drug possession. Smith came to be on parole following a guilty plea in 2009, for which he received a sentence of 10 years active incarceration. He was released in less than 2 years for substance abuse treatment. Smith failed to complete substance abuse treatment and was sentenced to 8 years in December of 2010. He was paroled shortly thereafter.

As a result of the prosecution seeking the mandatory-minimum sentence in this case, Smith is not eligible for parole until 2040.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew Maciarello commended the members of the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked Andrew Illuminati, Assistant State’s Attorney, who prosecuted this case.

Landfill Emergency on Saturday

Joe,

These are pictures from the emergency at the Landfill this weekend. I was notified at 11:54AM of this emergency by a Solid Waste official, at which time I went to pick up my personal truck (which has 4x4 drive abilities) to get to the site of the accident which was on top of the landfill. No one was hurt, fortunately, but it was close to around 3:30 or 4:00PM when I left.

Respectfully,
Bob Culver

Group calls for police reform in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Activists gathered outside the Maryland state capital Thursday afternoon calling for police reform. It came ahead of a meeting of a general assembly work group tasked with examining police policies in the state.

“We want to see changes made to the way police are policing our community,” said Gerald Stansbury, Maryland State Conference NAACP President.

There were calls for more transparency at police departments, more civilian involvement in the recruitment and oversight of police officers, and changes to the Maryland Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights.

Republicans pass 'Donald Trump Act' as Obama vows veto

WASHINGTON (ABC News) - Donald Trump may be thousands of miles from Washington on the Texas-Mexico border, but on Capitol Hill he's center stage in the fight over illegal immigration.

"Donald Trump is trying to get to the White House, but it looks like he’s already infiltrated Congress," said Rep. Tony Cardenas, D-Calif., during debate on the House floor. "This bill on the floor of this House today has Donald Trump written all over it."

The bill, which is formally called the "Enforce the Law for Sanctuary Cities Act," would block states and cities from receiving federal law enforcement funding if they have so-called “sanctuary city” practices in place, blocking the enforcement of certain federal immigration laws. It passed today in the House with overwhelming Republican support in a 241-179 vote, with only six Democrats joining the majority.

Democrats have pejoratively labeled the legislation “The Donald Trump Act,” tying the proposal to the volatile presidential candidate and his controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.

Ex-City Manager To Get 6-Month Severance Pay, Per Contract If ‘Terminated’

OCEAN CITY — It may have been a “mutual” decision, but from a financial perspective City Manager David Recor was essentially terminated on Monday.

The employment agreement between Recor and the city renewed automatically for another year on June 11. Within the agreement are a number of points outlining the job requirements, expectations, an annual performance review and specific compensation and benefits details. Also included are procedures agreed upon in the event of termination and severance pay.

City officials were mum on specifics this week because it was a personnel matter, but it has been confirmed through reliable sources that Recor will receive six months of severance pay. His contract states in the event he is terminated he would receive half of his annual salary over the course of regular pay periods over six months.

OBAMAMERICA: White Family Flying Confederate Flag On SUV Shot At By Angry Blacks…

On Monday, a father of two who, for obvious reasons, wished to remain anonymous told hisshocking story on Charlotte’s ABC affiliate, WSOC TV, insisting that his truck was targeted last Saturday by a group of black men upset over the Confederate flag he was flying from the back of the vehicle.

The ABC reporter said that up to six shots were fired at the truck, with two hitting the vehicle and another going through the window of a nearby home where a young African American woman lives.

One bullet slammed through the driver’s side door of the family’s SUV, lodging itself underneath the seat where the man’s fiancé was sitting. Another bullet burrowed into the windshield frame only inches from his head.

Target shoppers blast the retail giant for selling "trophy" T-shirt in stores

WASHINGTON (ABC News) -- Target is facing some backlash for selling a T-shirt labeled "TROPHY" in the women’s departments of its stores and online.

Shoppers have been taking to Twitter to slam the American retail giant for the merchandise, calling it offensive and demoralizing.

"It is never our intention to offend anyone and we always appreciate receiving feedback from our guests," Target released in a statement to ABC News. "The shirt you’re describing is part of a collection of engagement and wedding shirts that are available in our women’s and plus size departments. The collection also included shirts that say “Team Bride,” “Mrs.” and “Bride.” These shirts are intended as a fun wink and we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from our guests."

Obama’s Clueless FBI STILL Claiming They Don’t Know if Chattanooga Killer was a Radical Muslim

After finding out that Chattanooga terrorist Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez has multiple visits to the Middle East and has an entire list of social media posts showing radicalized Islamism, Obama’s clueless FBI is still saying it is too early to say if the killer was a radical Islamist.

Seriously, what is wrong with Obama’s FBI?

The FBI says it is treating the Chattanooga gunman as a “homegrown violent extremist” and that it is too early to determine if he had been radicalized.

Ed Reinhold, the FBI’s special agent in charge in Knoxville, said during a news conference Wednesday that investigators were still looking into whether Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez had been radicalized.

Reinhold says authorities believe Abdulazeez acted alone, without the assistance of anyone else when he attacked two military sites in Tennessee on Thursday.

Come on, now. Really?

Should the Freddie Gray Trial Be Moved Out Of Baltimore?

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The trial of the officers charged in connection with the death of Freddie Gray is likely to be the biggest Baltimore has ever seen and there are concerns over whether they can get a fair one.

WJZ Investigator Mike Hellgren has the latest.

So how will the high-profile nature of the case impact the trial?

“It’s going to be very hard to find someone who was not impacted by Freddie Gray’s death,” said Rob Waldeck, legal analyst.

Rob Waldeck has represented numerous police officers and he believes the critical factor now is whether the defendants can get the trial moved out of Baltimore.

Why People Like Trump

Last week, 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump dropped his second headline-making comment of the race. Responding to statements from Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., in which McCain labeled Trump’s supporters on immigration “crazies,” Trump shot back that McCain wasn’t a war hero, because he had been captured. “I like people who weren’t captured,” Trump said, paraphrasing a 2008 Chris Rock routine in Michael Scott-like fashion.

Trump’s shot was mean, nasty, uncalled for, and idiotic.

The media world immediately declared Trump’s campaign over. A few days before the comments, Huffington Post — a publication created by onetime failed California gubernatorial candidate Arianna Huffington — announced that it would feature Trump in its entertainment section rather than its politics section. The Wall Street Journal editorial board opined, “It came slightly ahead of schedule, but Donald Trump’s inevitable self-immolation arrived on the weekend when he assailed John McCain’s war record. The question now is how long his political and media apologists on the right will keep pretending he’s a serious candidate.”

Trump’s rival candidates leapt on the opportunity to throw dirt on Trump’s political grave. Governor Rick Perry, R-Texas, said, “I have no confidence that he could adeptly lead our nation’s armed forces. His comments over the weekend should completely and immediately disqualify him from seeking our nation’s highest office.” Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said, “I do think it’s a disqualifier as commander in chief.” Both trail Trump substantially in the polls.

Trump will, and ought to, take a serious hit in those polls after his McCain idiocy. But he will not go down this easily. That’s because Trump exemplifies two qualities many Republican voters seek: brashness and an unwillingness to back down in the face of critics.

Former UMES Provost Alleges Racial Discrimination

A former University of Maryland Eastern Shore provost has sued the university, alleging racial discrimination and unlawful termination against President Juliette Bell.

The Maryland Daily Record reports on the suit filed by Dr. Ronald Nykiel, who says Dr. Bell created different working and evaluation standards for him based upon his race. Dr. Nykiel is white.

Nykiel alleges Bell treated him differently than the rest of her cabinet members, none of whom were white, according the lawsuit. Bell brushed off “racially derogatory” remarks directed at Nykiel by other employees and refused his requests to hire needed, additional staff while granting similar requests by other department heads, the suit alleges.

In a statement, the university denied the racial discrimination allegations but did not comment further.

Nykiel also alleges Bell denied his request to take off work during the university’s spring break when stress began to take a physical toll on him, even though she and other cabinet members planned to leave the campus that week.

University officials deny the allegations.

“I sent it back to the person who was working the window and I asked them to get some fresh chicken,” Minor told WTVR-TV. “And they told me to pull up in the drive-thru and fresh chicken would be out in six or seven minutes.”

Seattle officials join push for Sharia-compliant mortgages, loans

WASHINGTON – A proposal in Seattle meant to increase homeownership among Muslims by offering financing compliant with strict Islamic law -- known as Sharia -- is gaining ground in the latest test for local leaders trying to accommodate diverse religious beliefs.

"We will work to develop new tools for Muslims who are prevented from using conventional mortgage products due to their religious beliefs," Seattle Mayor Ed Murray said during a press conference July 13.

"Sharia," which comes from the Koran and means "the right path," prohibits the payment of interest -- the primary way lenders earn. Many of Seattle's 30,000 practicing Muslims, therefore, are hard-pressed to find Sharia-compliant financing options when buying homes, making large purchases or starting a business.

Police Investigating Man's Death Find More Than 1,200 Guns, 2 Tons Ammo

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police investigating the death of a Los Angeles man uncovered an arsenal inside his home and garage — more than 1,200 guns and about two tons of ammunition, authorities said Monday.

Los Angeles Police Department Cmdr. Andrew Smith called the number of rifles, pistols and shotguns staggering. Many had never been fired and some were still wrapped in boxes, with price tags still attached.

"Our truck couldn't carry it all," Smith told the Los Angeles Times. "We had to go back and make another trip."

There were no signs of foul play. Police have found no evidence the man, who has not been identified, was involved in criminal activity.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CLEANS UP BAD LANGUAGE AT HIS SCHOOL

A Speech Every American High School Principal Should Give.

By Dennis Prager .

To the students and faculty of our high school:

I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.

First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships. The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.

This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity, race and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America , one of its three central values -- E pluribus unum, "from many, one." And this school will be guided by America 's values. This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.

Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

Second, I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America 's citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English -- but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.

Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor , everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the f -word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as "Nigger," even when used by one black student to address another black, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue... There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately fortunate -- to be alive and to be an American.

Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

NOT HIS FIRST RODEO: Editorial: End of tenure for City Manager David Recor good for the people of Fort Pierce

With a growing lack of trust by Fort Pierce commissioners, Recor's decision to resign gives city fresh start

David Recor made a name for himself in Fort Pierce. Unfortunately, it's not as good as it might have been.

Recor's resignation Wednesday after seven tumultuous years at City Hall — to potentially accept a job as city manager in Ocean City, Md. — was the best decision he could have made for himself and the city.

Hired as assistant city manager under Dennis Beach in 2005, Recor became city manager in 2008 despite questions at the time about Recor's management style, his truthfulness and his relationship with the City Hall staff, commissioners and the public.

Those concerns continued over the next several years and came to a head last fall when Recor survived a no-confidence vote, 3-2. The proverbial last straw came, however, as commissioners recently learned Recor remained a candidate for the Maryland job despite assurances that he was going to be more transparent and he had no intention of leaving Fort Pierce.

As recently as the City Commission meeting Monday night, Recor gave the impression he had no plans to leave. But, as he had been doing over the past several weeks in particular, he had been less than forthright about his intentions, though he claimed he had kept commissioners informed.

Baltimore’s Robert E. Lee Park May Be About To Get New Name

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — As South Carolina removes the Confederate flag from its State House, a local movement is underway to take down Confederate landmarks. Monday night, the City Council took the first steps to rename Robert E. Lee Park—but it’s not something everyone is on board with.

Meghan McCorkell has more on the controversy.

Some say the name of the park is racially divisive but others argue it is a part of history.

A tranquil spot for boaters, dog walkers and fishermen alike—450 acres of city land just over the Baltimore County line. But this park is now the source of controversy because of its name: Robert E. Lee Park.

“That name needs to come down and a more appropriate name placed on it,” said community activist Dr. Marvin “Doc” Cheatham.

Rush: Trump Tells Establishment to 'Go to Hell'

Donald Trump is defying "conventional belief" by doubling down and refusing to apologize to Sen. John McCain for comments made over the weekend that at first questioned the senator's reputation as a war hero before saying that he is one, talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Monday.

"The American people haven't seen something like this in a long time," Limbaugh said on his radio program. "They have not seen an embattled public figure stand up, double down, and tell everyone to go to hell."

Limbaugh insisted that he is not a Trump apologist, but said the media and politicians are following a typical trail they use when they want to get rid of a public figure, and the talk show host said a similar pattern is often followed on his own controversial statements.

How every single Marine feels right now

Congratulations, ISIS.

You wanted attention, and yesterday, you got it. Only, you chose the wrong people to seek that attention from.
...
You did not get the attention of our weak President. He tweeted his support for your medieval holiday following your cowardly attack. You did not get the attention of our useless and corrupt Congress. They were too busy lining their pockets.

When you attacked those four Marines, you got the attention of every one of our 186,800 active duty Marines, along with every Marine who ever served.

You just stirred up hate, discontent, and malice within a group of people who relish the idea of engaging the enemy.

There is something you obviously don't yet know about Marines...
The brotherhood we share is stronger than the challenges we face, the weapons we master, or the enemies we destroy.

You will learn that soon though.

You attacked a group of men who bond over the smell of gunpowder and misery—and enjoy it. You didn't attack America's leaders, you attacked America's Marines, and that is a battle you are not prepared for.

You see, we won't play by the rules you're accustomed to seeing.
When you play in our backyard, we don't have to answer to any chain of command. We will not follow ridiculous ROEs crafted by a spineless bureaucrat to appease some goat herding tribal leader. And we won't be wearing uniforms so that you can easily ambush us.
Nope. None of that shit.

When you think you're walking into a target-rich environment, you're really walking into an ambush.

That pudgy, middle-aged guy wearing khakis in the mall, who unbeknownst to you, is a former 0311 and armed, will dump your sorry ass before you have a chance to scream "allah snackbar." And that soccer mom pushing a stroller, she's got a Glock and will happily leave you gasping in a pool of your own blood before she lets you hurt her children.

We are here and we still have the training and experience to wage war, whether here or abroad. And wage war we will. Every one of us are willing to fight and die to protect our Marine Corps brothers and sisters, our families and friends, and our way of life.

And we will win, because while you fight to destroy what you hate, we fight to protect what we love.

A Viewer Writes: KKK rally in Charleston yesterday

Here is a video of the KKK rally in Charleston yesterday. Looks to me like it was more of a Black Panther rally. You should listen to the video, but I caution you there is foul language and hatred throughout the entire video and it isn't coming from the KKK. The real trouble makers were the blacks and the black panthers and the news media refuses to point that out to you. Even this description waters it down say the "KKK was carrying large Confederate flags, while opposing protesters held anti-racism banners and signs." Funny how they made it sound like the blacks and the Black Panthers held a peaceful counter protest which was not the case. They failed to mention the vicious aggressiveness of the blacks and the fact that they were waving large racist red, black and green flags. Not one mention of their large racist flags because they are afraid someone will say ban those flags after banning the Confederate Battle Flag. They failed to mention that the blacks were being arrested because of the blacks attacking white people and the KKK. They failed that at least one black man was arrested for having a gun and that can be seen midway through this video.

Rumors And Lies

It has come to my attention that another Blogger has pasted information making the claim that County Executive Bob Culver is allowing his Son to use his County Vehicle to go to work. This is a plain and utter lie and that EBT Blogger has been informed by the Son that this is not true, yet the EBT Blogger refuses to correct himself.

Bob Culver has been allowing his Son to use his personal truck the past few days. Yesterday Bob had an emergency in which he needed his truck so he went to his Son's work, dropped off his county vehicle there for a few hours while he made use of his personal truck.

His Son never had access to the keys to the county vehicle and never drove the vehicle. As we have seen for many years, if Joe Albero like or supports someone, this EBT Blogger immediately hates them. If I support someone, he attacks them. It's clearly a mental condition from a man who is filled with such hatred.

Nevertheless, you have a great County Executive who has done more for the taxpayers in six months then you ever experienced with the former County Executive in 8 years. Yes, I do in fact disagree with Bob Culver on some issues, just as I have with Governor Larry Hogan. Heck, just like any marriage, we learn to agree to disagree. I've said this for many years. If you disagree with someone like that EBT Blogger, he acts like you just killed his Mother. It's a very sad way to live your life.

Then again, it must be difficult to live your entire adult life knowing you'll never be a proud American by buying your own home. Their lives will always remain the same and there's absolutely nothing to look forward to or be proud of. I guess if we were in their shoes we'd be miserable too.

KKK Faces Off With New Black Panther Group in Heated, Competing Rallies at South Carolina Statehouse

The Ku Klux Klan faced off with a group affiliated with the New Black Panthers Saturday at the South Carolina Statehouse, as opposing rallies attracting about 2,000 at one point led to a rock-throwing scuffle.

The KKK was there to protest the July 10 removal of the Confederate flag at the Statehouse, which occurred in the wake of a massacre at a black church in Charleston that claimed the lives of nine people in June.

Racial turmoil in ‘Friendliest Town’

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. — The crowd gathered outside City Hall last week, demanding that their community’s first black police chief — fired amid allegations leveled against white officers of departmental racism — be given his job back.

In a place that bills itself as the “Friendliest Town on the Eastern Shore,” angry residents marched with posters that read “We Support Chief Kelvin Sewell” and jammed inside the quaint red-brick building to voice their outrage to the Pocomoke City Council.

Pocomoke City has been on edge since Sewell was fired by the council June 29. According to the former chief and his supporters, he was sacked for refusing to dismiss two black officers who described working in a hostile environment.

O’Malley Apologizes For Saying ‘All Lives Matter’

Former Maryland Gov. and Democratic Party presidential candidate Martin O’Malley, along with fellow candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, were shouted off stage at the Netroots Nation conference in Phoenix, Ariz., Saturday.O’Malley’s offense was saying, “Black lives matter, white lives matter, all lives matter.”

O’Malley has now apologized for including “white lives matter, all lives matter” in his statement.

The Black Lives Matter movement on the extreme progressive left does not tolerate inclusion of all lives, or any other lives when it comes to mattering.

Call Ben Cardin

Every day more outrages come to light making the Iran deal smell like a rotten fish. And in addition to giving a glide path to nuclear weapons, it includes giving access to anti ballistic missile technology that one day may be pointed at the U.S. Many predict that Obama is setting up a race for nuclear weapons in the Middle East and perhaps World War III.

Ben Cardin said today that he is undecided on the Iran deal. I called his office and was told they were “just taking a tally from the phone calls”. When I asked for a response to my call, I was told they would respond to letters. If you are opposed to this deal, please take a minute to at least call his office on Monday and register your opposition.
