Adam Schiff and Democrats are Twisting Words to Smear Trump

“We were promised a Hollywood-style, smoking gun quid pro quo. But after the transcript was released, the whistleblower complaint came out, and the House Intelligence Committee grilled acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, leaving most people with glazed-over expressions, wondering what the big deal is,” Jenna Ellis Rives writes in the Washington Examiner.

Yesterday, “Chairman Adam Schiff attempted to play word games with Maguire in an effort to manipulate the situation and paint the intelligence community and the White House as covering up something really, really bad that President Trump must have done.”

“So why the manipulation? Because the Democrats know their case is weak. Their only hope lies in trying to twist legal terminology for their political advantage.”

“The formal complaint from an anti-Trump ‘whistleblower’ alleging various crimes by President Donald Trump is riddled with third-hand gossip and outright falsehoods,” Sean Davis writes in The Federalist. “Rather than provide direct evidence that was witnessed or obtained firsthand by the complainant, the document instead combines gossip from various anonymous individuals, public media reports, and blatant misstatements of fact and law in service of a narrative that is directly contradicted by underlying facts. A footnote in the document even boasts about its use of ‘ample open-source information.’”
“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) performed an entirely made-up conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his opening statement at a committee hearing Thursday morning,” Kristina Wong reports for Breitbart News. “The White House released a transcript of a phone call between Trump and Zelensky on Wednesday, but Schiff made up and fabricated his own transcript that he read at the hearing, which sought to create the quid pro quo that Democrats have accused the president of making.”
Rather than getting entangled in an impeachment battle, Congress should move to approve a new trade pact with Mexico and Canada, the USMCA, The Detroit News editorial board writes. “The window appears to be narrowing for getting anything productive done in Washington, but this is one piece of business that is essential to maintaining America's decade-long prosperity streak. It should get top priority.”
“Palestinians are among the largest recipients of donor assistance per capita in the world today. Yet despite decades of work, billions of dollars, euros, shekels, and dinars donated, life continues to get worse,” U.S. Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt writes in Fox News. “Hamas has driven Gaza to a state of utter desperation. With unemployment at nearly 50 percent (the highest in the world), Hamas’ decade-long experiment in governance is an utter failure.” Greenblatt adds that “donor countries must ask themselves why they should keep struggling to raise money when everyone can plainly see the Hamas regime and the Palestinian Authority are squandering the opportunities that donor money provides for a better future for all Palestinians.”

Eight Maryland Schools Named National Blue Ribbon Schools

BALTIMORE ( September 27, 2019)-- U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos has recognized eight Maryland schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2019. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

“We recognize and honor your important work in preparing students for successful careers and meaningful lives” said U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos in a video message to the honorees. “As a National Blue Ribbon School, your school demonstrates what is possible when committed educators hold all students and staff to high standards and create vibrant, innovative cultures of teaching and learning.”

“Education is our number one priority, and these eight schools represent the best of what Maryland has to offer – exceptional teachers working with dedicated students to achieve great success in the classroom and beyond,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “We congratulate the leadership, teachers, students, parents, and everyone involved with these outstanding schools on this distinguished honor.”

Conservative Activists Clean Up 50 Tons Of Garbage In Dem Run LA; Crickets From MSM

The left will continue to lecture and scream about “climate change”…yet.. they do nothing to help clean up the mess their policies have caused. While a bunch of not so sane children and parents marched for “climate change…a group of folks took their time to clean up 50 tons of trash.

Bravo to Scott Presler! Maybe the left should stop lecturing and help clean up the mess they caused!

Via The Daily Wire:

In August, a group of Trump supporters led by conservative activist Scott Presler went to West Baltimore for a massive clean-up operation following tweets sent by President Donald Trump highlighting the dire conditions in the area.

Keeping to his promises, Presler has since led clean-up efforts in Newark, New Jersey and Virginia Beach, Virginia. And on Saturday, Presler and some 200 volunteers headed to Democrat-run Los Angeles, removing a stunning 50 tons of garbage, according to the activist.

Dems Cook 10,500 Steaks While Lecturing Americans About Eating Less Meat

Several Democratic presidential candidates will be attending an annual steak fry event, despite lecturing Americans about the need to eat less meat because of climate change.

The organizers of the Iowa Polk County Democratic Party's annual steak fry will be grilling 10,500 steaks and 1,000 vegan burgers on 10 grills, during Saturday's event. Some of the candidates will grill steaks themselves.

Democratic candidates recently participated in a CNN climate town hall, where multiple candidates discussed the importance of reducing meat intake. Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) called for the U.S. government to create incentives to eat less meat.

Legacy’s Shadow: Rising Hearts from a Sunken Ship

Legacy’s Shadow: Rising Hearts from a Sunken Ship
By: Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Lally
Legacy's Shadow: Rising Hearts from a Sunken Ship, is a story of a Purple Heart Medal being posthumously award to a Coast Guardsman killed in action on Sept. 26, 1918 during World War I aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Tampa that was torpedoed while conducting a convoy escort in Bristol Channel.

The dark, cloudy, moonless night held an ominous vibe as multiple vessels in a convoy steamed toward Wales through the choppy, rolling waves in the Bristol Channel on Sept. 26, 1918.

The crew of one vessel in particular settled in for the evening listening to the soft purr of the vessel’s engines reverberating throughout the ship, while the sounds of rolling waves from the sea lashed at the ship’s hull steaming through the channel. The watchstanders on the bridge were on the lookout for any signs of the enemy hiding in the murky waters.

The 190-foot Coast Guard Cutter Tampa’s crew and mission were to escort and protect the convoys they were assigned to in the Gibraltar area during World War I. On this particular night in September, the cutter Tampa crew potentially detected some sign of an enemy submarine and darted out ahead of the convoy to investigate.

At 8:45 p.m., the crews aboard the other vessels in the convoy heard a loud explosion. Later that evening when the convoy arrived in port it was discovered the cutter Tampa was missing and a joint search between the United States and British services was conducted. Unfortunately, all the search and rescue teams discovered were a few pieces of wreckage and two unidentifiable bodies in naval uniforms.

DC alcohol board dismisses challenge to Trump hotel liquor license

The D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Board struck down a challenge to Trump International Hotel's liquor license by a group claiming President Trump was "not of good character."

The board dismissed the complaint Wednesday because the Trump Organization proved "that the purported group of eight residents and property owners does not contain at least five residents or property owners" in Washington, D.C. The complaint was dismissed without standing.

This was the group's second attempt to shut down the hotel's liquor license. The board rejected the initial complaint because they had already given the license to the hotel. The renewal for the hotel's liquor license was in May.

The group had made their complaint against the hotel's license based on their claim that Trump lacks character.

GM Reverses, Will Pay For Striking Union Workers’ Health Insurance; Major Issues Remain

DETROIT (Reuters) – General Motors Co said on Thursday it will pay for the health insurance of its striking hourly workers, reversing a decision to push the costs onto the United Auto Workers union as officials on both sides said major issues remain to be resolved.

No agreement was expected Thursday even as talks were continuing and could continue into the weekend, UAW and GM officials said.

Because of the complex nature of shifting health care coverage costs, GM said Thursday that UAW members’ coverage had never lapsed.

“Given the confusion around what was happening, we chose to work with our providers to ensure that the benefits would remain fully in place,” GM spokesman Jim Cain said.

Trump to cut number of refugees allowed in U.S. to lowest ever

Washington — The Trump administration on Thursday announced it plans to admit the lowest number of refugees in U.S. history over the next 12 months, placing a cap of fewer than 20,000 spots for millions of people around the world displaced by war, ethnic conflict and other forms of persecution.

The U.S. is planning to resettle no more than 18,000 refugees in fiscal year 2020, which begins next month. The new ceiling represents the third consecutive and lowest ever reduction of spots for a refugee admissions program created in 1980 that has repeatedly come under fire from President Trump and immigration hardliners in his administration.

Since former President Obama outlined a 110,000 year cap for his final year in office, his successor reduced that number to 45,000 in fiscal year 2018 and then to 30,000, the current limit. The new ceiling — which will be officially instituted after the White House consults with Congress — represents the latest effort by the administration to overhaul the nation's legal immigration system.

'Partisanship as news coverage': Tucker Carlson hits back at Shepard Smith for scolding him

A war of words between two Fox News personalities escalated when Tucker Carlson hit back at Shepard Smith after the daytime host characterized Carlson’s handling of one of his guests as “repugnant.”

The feud began Tuesday when Carlson brought former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova on his opinion show after Democrats announced they had begun an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. DiGenova ripped Fox News contributor Judge Andrew Napolitano, calling him “a fool” for saying during an interview with Smith that Trump had already admitted to committing a crime.

Smith on Wednesday expressed pointed disapproval that Carlson did not challenge diGenova over the statement, and said, “Attacking our colleague who is here to offer legal assessments on our air, in our work home, is repugnant.”

Jennifer Lopez, Shakira To Perform At Super Bowl Halftime Show

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Pop superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will perform together during the widely watched U.S. Super Bowl halftime show in February, the singers and broadcaster Fox Sports said on Thursday.
“First time together on stage… on the world’s biggest stage. Welcome @JLo and @Shakira to the #PepsiHalftime show,” a tweet from Fox Corp’s <FOXA.O> Fox Sports said.
The National Football League’s Super Bowl championship, to be played in Miami on Feb. 2, 2020, is the biggest annual event on U.S. television. The halftime show typically features some of the world’s most well-known performers. Last year’s telecast attracted 98.2 million viewers.

Lopez, an actress and singer known for hits such as “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and “If You had My Love,” currently stars in the movie “Hustlers,” which is generating buzz in Hollywood as a possible Oscar contender.

The swamp is beyond parody, but the American people aren’t laughing

There are a handful of real, pressing concerns on the minds of American families today.
They want pro-worker trade deals such as USMCA. Affordable prescription drug prices. Strong border security. Real gun safety. Even a bit of progress on any one of these issues would bring a huge sigh of relief from citizens that Washington is finally putting them first.
While this checklist is only a start, all of these items have something important in common: Congress could have taken meaningful action on any one of them this week.
Instead, Congressional Democrats chose to dedicate their time to yet another political circus hearing, this time about a “whistleblower” report. This latest conspiracy theory alleges that the Trump Administration tried to cover up a transcript of a phone call between President Trump and President Zelensky of Ukraine.
The White House has made the call available for all to see, but that’s not even the best part. It turns out the “whistleblower” had no first-hand knowledge of anything being alleged.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Of course, the political theater took over Washington once again with wall-to-wall coverage from the left’s usual media allies. It was yet another week completely wasted for Congress, who has real work to do keeping its promises to American voters. But like cats chasing a laser pointer, Democrats and their surrogates are jumping at anything that moves if it means they can avoid actually having to get anything done for a little bit longer.

ICE arrests

Most of the aliens (33) targeted by ERO deportation officers during this operation had prior criminal histories; five have pending criminal charges only; 11 have no criminal history.  Those arrested included 46 men and three women.  Forty were arrested in North Texas; nine were arrested in Oklahoma.

ICE focuses its enforcement resources on individuals who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security. However, ICE no longer exempts classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. All of those in violation of immigration laws may be subject to immigration arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) deportation officers arrested 46 individuals during a 5-day targeted enforcement action that ended Sept. 25, targeting criminal aliens and other immigration violators.

On Aug. 13, after being convicted and serving a sentence for raping a child, Philadelphia officials released the aforementioned, Edward De Oleo Valdez, 38, from the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, despite the presence of an ICE detainer.

Following is the nationality breakdown of those arrested:  Mexico (36), Guatemala (2), Honduras (1), El Salvador (1), Brazil (1) and Kenya (1).

The Next Generation: Eugene Scalia Confirmed As Labor Secretary

The Senate confirmed a son of late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia as labor secretary Thursday afternoon.

Corporate litigator Eugene Scalia will succeed former Secretary Alex Acosta, who resigned on July 12 amid renewed criticism of a non-prosecution agreement he negotiated with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The 53-44 vote followed party lines.

Eugene Scalia’s service as labor secretary will be his second tour in the Department of Labor (DOL). He previously served as DOL solicitor, the agency’s top legal officer, under former President George W. Bush. He joined Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he developed a practice representing large corporations including Walmart and Ford in labor disputes, after leaving government service.

6 Risky Drugs for Seniors

Prescription medications offer amazing benefits for controlling the symptoms of illness, or even leading to a cure. But they can also put you at risk for more serious illness, or even death.

According to experts, a staggering 1.5 million Americans die each year from medication mistakes, and many of them are senior citizens.

Dr. Patricia Salber, a leading internist and emergency care physician from San Francisco who runs the website, tells Newsmax that the numbers may be growing because so many baby boomers are now seniors, and are taking prescription drugs.

And many elderly people cannot tolerate certain medications — even medications the patient has taken before.

“Basically, any drug that needs to be cleared from the kidneys can be problematic for the elderly, who have reduced renal function,” says Salber. “Also, many drugs have anticholinergic effects, which can cause cognitive changes including delirium. They can also cause urinary retention and constipation. I always recommend a trial of nondrug intervention before resorting to prescription medication.”

Here are six most risky classes of drugs for seniors:

Crowd at Capitol helps Rashida Tlaib deliver profane anti-Trump speech

Rep. Rashida Tlaib led a crowd in repeating a vulgar term she had used to describe President Trump.

The Michigan Democrat said to the crowd, "We are ready to impeach," to which the crowd responded, "the motherf-----!"

At pro impeachment rally at capitol, Dem MI Rep Tlaib reprised her viral video from earlier this year where she used profane language directed toward the President regarding impeachment. Tlaib says to the crowd:

“We are ready to impeach....” Crowd responds: “the m----- f-----!"— Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) September 26, 2019

The crowd's phrase hearkened back to when Tlaib said in January, "We're gonna impeach the motherf-----!"

'It could blow up in their face': 2020 Democrats tiptoe around the Joe Biden-Ukraine furor

Most of Joe Biden's 2020 Democratic opponents are pushing for the impeachment of President Trump over the whistleblower complaint involving Ukraine but are remaining silent on the subject of Hunter Biden's activities in Ukraine.

That may change soon.

The former vice president bragged in 2018 that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in United States loan guarantees during a 2016 trip to Kyiv if Ukraine didn’t fire top prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who had investigated Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky, whose Burisma Holdings company paid Biden's son, Hunter, $50,000 a month to sit on its board from 2014.

Bernie Sanders deflected questions about whether Democrats would use this against Joe Biden in the 2020 race but did not say the subject was off limits.

'The squad' smears the NRA as ‘mass murderers’ and ‘white supremacists’

Are you an ardent supporter of gun rights? Well, Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and at least one of her cohorts in “the squad” think you’re a terrorist and mass murderer. At least, if you support the National Rifle Association.

In a video released last night, the squad is shown on tape reacting in real-time after NRA activists approach the four congresswomen respectively and ask them questions that are perhaps antagonistic, but well within the bounds of reasonable discourse. The extreme responses offered by Ocasio-Cortez and Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Michigan, in particular, reveal the socialist congresswomen have utter contempt for Americans who disagree with them, lack any respect for their political opponents, and are completely detached from reality.

There was a hearing today to ban semi-automatic rifles, so we thought it was an appropriate time to ask The Squad their thoughts on our #2A rights.

Former CIA official on whistleblower: ‘How could this be an intelligence matter?’

Fred Fleitz, president of the Center for Security Policy, served in 2018 as deputy assistant to the president and to the chief of staff of the National Security Council. He previously held national-security jobs with the CIA, the DIA, the Department of State, and the House Intelligence Committee staff. He remarks on the whistleblower complaint.

I am troubled by the complaint and wonder how an intelligence officer could file it over something a president said to a foreign leader. How could this be an intelligence matter?

It appears likely to me that this so-called whistleblower was pursuing a political agenda.

I am very familiar with transcripts of presidential phone calls since I edited and processed dozens of them when I worked for the NSC. I also know a lot about intelligence whistleblowers from my time with the CIA.

Radio host threatening to sue over anti-gay tweet the station claims he sent himself

A radio host in New Orleans said he received an anti-gay slur, sent to him from the radio station's Twitter account. On Wednesday, WWL host Seth Dunlap, who is openly gay, said he planned to sue the station's parent company after working for years in a homophobic and hostile workplace. In a strange turn of events Thursday, the New Orleans Police Department said the homophobic tweet sent to Dunlap came from none other than Dunlap's phone.

The tweet in question was sent earlier this month and the day it was sent, Dunlap hosted his show as usual. But the next day, he announced a leave of absence, CBS affiliate WWL-TV reports.

In a statement, Dunlap said 14 people had access WWL's Twitter account. He claimed he was not one of the people with access to the account.

Senate To Be Replaced With Room Full Of Monkeys Throwing Feces

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In an emergency, overnight referendum, the American people voted on Thursday to replace the United States Senate with a room full of monkeys throwing feces. The measure passed with 57% of the vote. 22% of voters thought the Senate should be replaced by barking seals, while 17% voted that the replacement should be the pit of venomous snakes from Indiana Jones. 3.97% voted that Senate members be replaced by screaming goats. "About 100 people" voted for the current Senators to keep their jobs, with this tiny voting bloc centered in Washington, D.C.

Highland Ape Rescue out of West Virginia will be teaming up with Cornwell Primate farms to supply hundreds of monkeys and apes to the Senate. The animals will be fed a nutritious mixture of foods that produce easily throwable feces. Protective glass will be put up around the Senate for camera crews to safely film, but anyone being interviewed by the new senators will have to sit in the middle of the poo-flinging octagon, coming under a heavy barrage of projectile excrement.

Missing Person In Ocean City

Thousands of dead monarch butterflies on Kent Island have residents wondering why and how

KENT ISLAND, Md. (ABC7) — Thousands of monarch butterflies have turned up dead in a community on Kent Island. What killed them remains a mystery.

People in the Bayside neighborhood found the bright orange butterflies on the ground Monday morning. Several people gathered them in buckets.

A Facebook post showing an image of the monarchs has gone viral. When ABC7's Brad Bell visited on Wednesday, he had no problem finding dozens of the butterflies still on the ground.

NYTimes 'Outs' Ukraine-Call "Whistleblower" As CIA Officer

Soon after the Ukraine-gate "whistleblower" complaint was made public, questions about the source's knowledge and background began to rise, as one former CIA officer noted very specifically:
The way this complaint was written suggested the author had a lot of help. I know from my work on the House Intel Commitee staff that many whistleblowers go directly to the intel oversight committees. Did this whistleblower first meet with House Intel committee members?

My view is that this whistleblower complaint is too convenient and too perfect to come from a typical whistleblower. Were other IC officers involved? Where outside groups opposed to the president involved?

This complaint will further damage IC relations with the White House for many years to come because IC officers appear to be politicizing presidential phone calls with foreign officials and their access to the president and his activities in the White House.

Worst of all, this IC officer -- and probably others -- have blatantly crossed the line into policy.

It's Back, Thursday $5.00 Hamburger At Caribbean Joe's

Throughout the "off season" Caribbean Joe's is bringing back the $5.00 hamburger. There's no tricks, you don't have to sit or eat at the bar. Always juicy, always fresh ground beef. Served on a sweet Hawaiian role, it's absolutely delicious.

‘Whistleblower’ Complaint Relies on Soros-Funded ‘Investigative Reporting’ Group

Sections of a so-called whistleblower’s complaint alleging President Donald Trump was “using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country” in the 2020 presidential race relies upon a self-described investigative journalism organization bankrolled massively by billionaire activist George Soros.

The complainer admits, “I was not a direct witness to most of the events described.” Still, the so-called whistleblower goes on to allege that Trump pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

The transcript of the phone call authorized for release by President Trump evidences no such pressure or quid pro quo and shows the request to investigate alleged corruption involving Biden and his family was a small part of the call.

The “whistleblower” concedes that his information is based on secondhand knowledge: “However, I found my colleagues’ accounts of these events to be credible because, in almost all cases, multiple officials recounted fact patterns that were consistent with one another.”
