Gay Federal Workers To Get Benefits

Federal benefits extended to same-sex partners
Obama orders extension for workers under existing law

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is extending child care, medical leave and other benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees.

Obama on Wednesday directed federal agencies to immediately begin allowing domestic partners and their children some of the same rights available to spouses and children of employees. That includes child-care services and subsidies, expanded family and medical leave and relocation and other benefits.

Obama's memorandum covers only benefits that can be extended under existing law, without congressional action.

Sarah Silverman's Book Inspires a Rant on Immigration

Sarah Silverman recently authored a book titled, ""The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee." At least a portion of this rag is causing a stir amongst both lefties and righties.

Here is an excerpt:

"Right-wing Americans who appear in mainstream media are not out there calling black people {edit: n-bomb}, or saying, The Klan has good ideas. Instead, they're questioning the legitimacy of Obama's presidency by accusing him of being born in Africa or of being a Muslim. Or they're having tea parties and calling Obama a 'communist' and a 'Nazi.'"

Wow. Just wow. I didn't agree with Ann Coulter calling John Edwards a slur used for gay men that starts with f (trying to keep this post civil) and I certainly cannot agree with what Ms. Silverman wrote in her book. My problem isn't that there aren't racist in the right wing, because there are. Just like there are racists amongst the left. What I loathe about glib pieces like this are their ability to chastise innocent bystanders. The majority of people in America, both right wing and left wing are just folks. They wake up in the morning and go to work, worry about keeping their jobs, their weight, the mortgage or rent, keeping their kids safe, etc... When people use overarching stereotypes to try to erect some sort of monolithic straw man they do us all a disservice.

While I made waves a bit ago by commenting that I do believe President Obama was born in Hawaii and is an American, I certainly would never call those that disagree racists. The people I have met who question his birth place just do not believe in the validity of the paperwork. There is nothing coded or racist about it.

As for immigration, not many people are calling for closing the borders to legitimate immigration. The concern is illegal immigration. I've seen reports on television of 10-15 million people in America are not here legally. I've been to foreign countries where I do not speak the native tongue very well. It is a very vulnerable feeling, but I always prepare for the trips by learning words and phrases like "restroom", "how much?", "taxi", etc... to help ease the language gap. Since I do not wish to meet and have to deal with a foreign police force, whose laws I am probably only vaguely aware of, I obey the law even better than I do at home. I've avoided dirty cops in foreign lands, but have met my share of Americans that have paid bribes to corrupt policemen in Mexico. I have no need for such an adventure in my life and I'm sure most of you feel the same way. Given this, why do people break our immigration laws? What kind of person goes to a foreign country and lives there illegally for years-on-end? What kind of person does that and then participates in public protests waving the flag of their country of origin while a few burn the American flag? I just don't get it. I certainly would not want to make the same mistake Ms. Silverman does and generalize a whole population of people, but I honestly do not understand the attitude or the thought process behind being a criminal and demanding that you be forgiven of your crimes and rewarded. In the comments someone explain it to me.

When I see statements such as Sarah Silverman's and listen to the media lately this is what I see in my mind's eye:

AP Sources: Obama Admin Talked Jobs With Romanoff

The Obama administration dangled the possibility of a government job for former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff last year in hopes he would forgo a challenge to Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, officials said Wednesday, just days after the White House admitted orchestrating a job offer in the Pennsylvania Senate race.

These officials declined to specify the job that was floated or the name of the administration official who approached Romanoff, and said no formal offer was ever made. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not cleared to discuss private conversations.

The new revelation of a possible political trade again called into question President Barack Obama's repeated promises to run an open government that was above back room deals.

The Colorado episode follows a similar controversy in Pennsylvania. An embarrassed White House admitted last Friday that it turned to former President Bill Clinton last year to approach Rep. Joe Sestak about backing out of the primary in favor of an unpaid position on a federal advisory board.

Sestak declined the offer and defeated Sen. Arlen Specter late last month for the Democratic nomination after disclosing the job discussions and highlighting it as evidence of his anti-establishment political credentials. He said last week he rejected Clinton's feeler in less than a minute.

In a two-page report on the Sestak case, the White House counsel said the administration did nothing illegal or unethical.

Unlike Sestak, Romanoff has ducked questions on the subject, and it was not clear how long his discussions with administration officials lasted.

Romanoff had sought appointment to the Senate seat that eventually went to Bennet, publicly griped he had been passed over and then discussed possible appointment possibilities inside the administration, one of the officials said.

Update On Nightly News At 6 PM

So here's the deal Folks. Not only has the City/Police been charging residents a $25.00 fee for the first time residents had their alarm go off, the Salisbury Police Department has NOTHING to do with those charges.

You see, how it works is as follows. The Salisbury Police are required to write the citation that they have been to a particular location on an alarm call. The City, (not the Police) is then expected to keep tabs on how many times the Police have been called to a particular location. After the THIRD time they issue a citation for $25.00. In this case, it was the FIRST time the Police were asked to go to the location and the City just flat out sent this resident a BILL.

Now I've been told the Mayor is now on top of this matter and seems to be somewhat upset that it was even brought up. Mind you, this particular resident did all they could to get this matter resolved but as I mentioned to you earlier in my broadcast, he passed the buck back to the SPD and THEY have NOTHING to do with it at that point.

Now, it gets even better. Salisbury News has been told that the City now requires Alarm Companies trying to peddle business within the City Limits to purchase a Peddlers License. No, they're not selling Hot Dogs but the City seems to be doing everything they can to raise a buck. So if you attempt to market a product within Salisbury you may be required to carry special permits to do so. Perhaps this is why the SPD Dispatcher told this individual their system is not compatible with the SPD, I don't know.

What I do know is, the system worked, the Police went to the home and fortunately because they had an alarm system and it went off the burglars took off and the system paid off. The bigger question is, is the system legal?????

I'm sure this matter isn't going to disappear any time soon and I'm confident some of the language will be changed in the City Charter. In the mean time we'd like to know, has the City of Salisbury been charging YOU when your alarm system goes off?

The next thing I want to check into is if the City has been charging residents for ambulance services that Insurance Companies did't pay for. This could be a whole new can of worms we may be opening. John Pick and Pam Oland know the language and I'm just wondering if people are being billed for something they should NOT be charged for.

Lost Dog In Crisfield

Joe - A home on Old State Road here in Crisfield was gutted by fire this
past Saturday afternoon, May 29, and the owner, Phyllis Saltz is desperate
to find one dog that has not been located. The photo of Hannah is attached,
and she had a pink collar and tags. The other dogs pictured were retrieved,
but she said the firefighters who went through the house have not found
Hannah.

They believe Hannah ran away, and is too timid to come back. The house is
located at 26669 Old State Road, Crisfield, and while there is a reward
indicated, I do not know its value.

The State Fire Marshal valued the damage to the house at $150,000 plus
another $20,000 for the contents, but Ms. Saltz I'm sure would prefer the
dog than the material items. She can be reached at 410-968-0768.

I've posted this info on our company's newszap.com Web site, and told her I
would also send you a copy.

Thanks for whatever you and your readers can do,

BREAKING NEWS: Coast Guard Says Saw Is Stuck In New Effort To Fix Oil Spill

BP's bid to stem gusher stalled over stuck saw
Meantime, oil drifts to within 9 miles of Pensacola beaches

PORT FOURCHON, Louisiana
- BP's latest effort to stem the oil gusher in the Gulf stalled on Wednesday when a saw become stuck as it was cutting through a pipe on a busted well, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen said.

Allen said the goal was now to free the saw and finish the cut later in the day. This is the second major cut in the effort to contain -- not plug -- the nation's worst spill. Allen said the first cut with giant shears was successful overnight.

Even if it works, the current mission to cut a major pipe and cap it would only reduce the flow, not stop it. If it fails, it could make the largest oil spill in U.S. history even worse. The best hope for sealing the leak, until a permanent fix is possible in August, failed Saturday, when engineers were unable to plug it with heavy mud in a maneuver called a top kill.

Advanced Call Center Technologies tried to collect $200 on a disputed debt from Allen Jones a few years ago. Part of the company's advanced technology is its innovative voicemail strategy, where its employees leave wildly offensive, racist messages for people. Jones sued the company, and last week the jury awarded him $50k for mental anguish and $1.5 million in punitive damages.

U.S. Selective Service In Obama Cover-Up?

Mysterious Social Security Number now wreaks havoc in online search

Is the U.S. Selective Service System now blocking access to President Barack Obama's online registration records?

Members of the public searching the federal database for the commander in chief's registration are suddenly finding new difficulty, possibly due to the startling revelation of Obama's alleged use of a Connecticut-based Social Security Number.

The Selective Service System, or SSS, collects names of Americans for use by the Department of Defense in the event of a national emergency. On its website, it says it provides the nation "with a structure and a system of guidelines which will provide the most prompt, efficient, and equitable draft possible, if the country should need it."

Regarding President Obama, "He is registered. There is no doubt in our minds that he has, and we're quite prepared to say so," SSS public-affairs specialist Dan Amon told WND.Is the U.S. Selective Service System now blocking access to President Barack Obama's online registration records?

Kagan Has Saudi, Bin Laden Money Ties

In a disturbing revelation for a Supreme Court nominee, Elena Kagan took millions of dollars from the Saudis as dean of Harvard Law School and a chunk of it reportedly came from 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.

The bin Laden family has donated millions of dollars to the Ivy League university over the years, including generous endowments for the school’s Islamic law program and others to finance scholarships for students from Muslim countries. The family has a fondness for Harvard because Osama bin Laden’s brother, Abdullah, received a master’s degree from the school in the 1990s and a doctorate in 2000.

When Kagan took over as dean of the law school in 2003, she launched an aggressive and unprecedented fundraising campaign that raked in a whopping $476.5 million, the most lucrative in the law school’s history. Renowned as a prolific fundraiser, Kagan was tapped to head the law school after spending a few years as a professor there when her job in the Clinton White House ended. In addition to the $476.5 million generated by the targeted campaign—dubbed "Setting the Standard"—Kagan helped raise an extra $60 million for the Harvard Law School Fund.

A chunk of the cash came from the Saudis—and probably the bin Ladens—who have bankrolled many key programs at the Cambridge Massachusetts school over the years. In fact, Harvard has accepted so much cash from the bin Ladens that the Cambridge City Council passed a resolution calling upon the university to donate compensation money for victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Harvard officials refused.

Kagan’s Saudi/bin Laden money connection probably served as an inspiration in protecting the Saudi kingdom against a lawsuit for financing the 2001 terror attacks. Thousands of family members of 9/11 victims sued Saudi Arabia and several members of its royal family for actively aiding in financing the attacks through front groups posing as charities. As Solicitor General, Kagan blocked the lawsuit, citing the “potentially significant foreign-relations consequences of subjecting another sovereign state to suit."

Two Videos Showing Israeli Confrontation With Flotilla

See it for yourself-- as CAIR and anti-Israel groups rush to put their spin on Monday's deadly engagement between a supposed "aid" flotilla and the Israeli Defense Force, these two videos show what really happened.

America's largest Muslim group (CAIR) is asking President Obama to condemn the deadly engagement between a supposed 'aid' flotilla attempting to deliver supplies to Gaza and the IDF.

Israeli Naval Forces intercepted the flotilla and five other ships attempting to break the maritime closure of the Gaza Strip, a territory controlled by Hamas.

An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson told WND commandos boarded the ships after numerous warnings from Israel requesting the ships redirect toward the Israeli port of Ashdod, where they would be able to unload their aid supplies, which could then be transferred to the Gaza Strip after undergoing security inspections.

As these two videos show, this flotilla, believed to have links to al-Qaeda, was warned by the Israel Navy repeatedly to conform to normal procedures for aid delivery. The ships refused.

International activists aboard the ships then opened fire on IDF soldiers who boarded the ships to prevent them from breaking the Israeli-imposed sea blockade.

Cramming

Joe,

I have discovered a new(?) consumer ripoff called cramming. I noticed charges on my verizon phone bill for the past few months which I did not recognize, so I did some research. Come to find out that there are several outfits out there that "cram" unauthorized service fees on phone bills thru most of the major carriers (verizon, at&t, etc). I was charged 14.95 for internet tv by cybertube via ILD, 14.95 for email by members edge via ILD, 12.95 for ringtones (on a land line?) by monthly ringtone via ILD, and 14.95 forvoice mail by OAN/ideal savings now. Keep in mind that these are monthly fees!!! I also found that there are numerous complaints about this very thing from across the country and going back several years.

You can check them out on line: www.fcc.gov/cib/consumerfacts/cramming.html and complaintsboard.com (use ILD, OAN, cybertube, members edge or ideal savings now in the search function.

Apparently this is widespread, and I would suggest that your readers may go back and check their phone bills to see if they have been charged for these or any other suspect "services". I don't know that it is illegal, but it certainly is unethical. I have called the appropriate numbers on the phone bills for the service providers, and have thus far has two of the charges debited back, but what an inconvenience and hassle. How many consumers are unaware and just pay the bill without checking it over??

Just a heads up.

Thanks

Groups Want FCC To Police 'Hate Speech' On Talk Radio, Cable News Networks

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is being urged to monitor "hate speech" on talk radio and cable broadcast networks.

A coalition of more than 30 organizations argue in a letter to the FCC that the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

The groups also charge that syndicated radio and cable television programs "masquerading as news" use hate as a profit model.

"As traditional media have become less diverse and less competitive, they have also grown less responsible and less responsive to the communities that they are supposed to serve," the organizations wrote to the FCC. "In this same atmosphere hate speech thrives, as hate has developed as a profit-model for syndicated radio and cable television program masquerading as 'news.'"

The organizations, which include Free Press, the Center for Media Justice, the Benton Foundation and Media Alliance, also argue that the anonymity of the Web gives ammunition to those that would spread hate.

The groups did not mention any specific programming on the right or the left in their letter, which supports a petition filed by the National Hispanic Media Coalition last year requesting a probe of the relationship between hate speech and hate crimes.

The groups argue the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

GOP Accuses White House, Sestak Of Different Stories

The Republican National Committee charged Tuesday that Rep. Joe Sestak and the White House have provided contradictory explanations of former President Clinton's controversial attempt to persuade Sestak to drop his Democratic primary bid against Sen. Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania.

In an e-mail titled "Here We Go Again: Once Again, the White House and Joe Sestak Are on Different Pages," Republicans point out apparent discrepancies between Sestak's account and those offered by the White House.

The RNC e-mail noted that repeatedly Sestak stated in his Friday news conference that he had only been contacted once by former Clinton about being appointed to a nonpaid advisory post in return for dropping out of the primary.

"Sir, were there other calls or communications, any other positions—" a reporter asked.

"No," Sestak replied, "just that one phone call."

Sestak reiterated that assertion at least three times.

Yet White House Counsel Robert F. Bauer's May 28 memorandum on the matter indicates there were multiple attempts to persuade Sestak over a period of two months.

"Efforts were made in June and July of 2009 to determine whether Congressman Sestak would be interested in service on a presidential or other senior executive Branch advisory board," Bauer stated.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed that account, telling reporters: "Whatever is in the memo is accurate."

The Wall Street Journal added its voice to those calling for an investigation in its weekend edition.

Flotilla Activists Chanted Anti-Jewish Battle Cries, Welcomed 'Martyrdom'

Activists on a six-ship flotilla headed to the Gaza Strip shouted anti-Jewish battle cries and spoke of using "resistance" against Israel, with one participant stating she saw only two possible outcomes for the boat occupants – "either martyrdom or reaching Gaza."

On Monday, Israeli navy commandos raided the flotilla, encountering heavy resistance and live fire from the activists. Several activists were killed and dozens of others were reportedly injured, as were several of the Israeli commandos.

The main flotilla ship was named the MV Rachel Corrie, taking on the namesake of a far-left activist from the International Solidarity Movement who died in 2003 while serving as a human shield to protect a terrorist.

An Al Jazeera news report translated by Palestinian Media Watch documented men on the flotilla chanting "[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!"

That chant is often used at rallies for Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Khaibar is the name of the last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad in 628. That battle marked the end of the Jewish presence in Arabia.

Al-Jazeera also interviewed a woman on the flotilla who said that the participants' goal was "one of two happy endings: either martyrdom or reaching Gaza."

Obama Pals Back Violent Gaza Flotilla

The group behind the Gaza flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli commandos counts among its top supporters the friends and associates of President Barack Obama, namely the founders of the Weather Underground terrorist organization, William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink.
On Monday, Israeli navy commandos raided the six-ship flotilla, encountering heavy resistance and live fire from the activists. Several activists were killed and dozens of others were reportedly injured, as were several of the Israeli commandos.

The flotilla was organized by the Free Gaza Movement, a coalition of leftist human rights activists and pro-Palestinian groups engaged in attempts to break a blockade imposed by Israel on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Ayers, Dohrn and Evans' Code Pink have led several recent Free Gaza Movement initiatives, including attempted marches into the Gaza Strip. Dorhn was in the Middle East just last month on behalf of the movement.

Ayers and Dohrn were close associates for years with President Obama, while Evans was a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama's presidential campaign.

Poll Shocker! Majority Wants Obama Records

At a time when Barack Obama is getting heat for stonewalling information about an alleged administration bribery scandal, a new poll shows more Americans than ever suspect the president is hiding information about his own background and want him to come clean.

Questions about Obama's eligibility to be president, exacerbated by his refusal to answer questions, release ordinary background documentation and his extraordinary legal maneuvers to keep his background hidden, have been on the radar of a number of top-level investigative reporters and news organizations since before his election.

Essentially, while the Constitution requires a president to be a "natural born citizen," none of the questions about Obama's qualifications – or lack thereof – under that requirement have yet been answered.

"Simply put, this question about Obama's legitimacy as president is undermining everything he does in the minds of millions of Americas," wrote Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies in an analysis of his results.

"Our latest polling shows a majority of Americans – 55 percent – want Obama to release all records relating to his childhood and his education, including college records, Harvard Law School papers, passport records, travel records, and other similar documentation," he said.

"Asked what should be done should it be found that Obama does not meet the qualifications to be president, 59 percent said he should be removed from office, and 35 percent said all bills signed into law by Obama should be repealed," he said.

The poll said when asked about whether Obama's background documentation – the school records, birth records and others – should be released, the 55 percent who said yes included more than 82 percent of the GOP, 55 percent of independents and nearly 28 percent of Democrats.

Further, another 17.1 percent of Americans said Obama should release some of his documentation, making it nearly three in four Americans who want the president to unlock the steel door on some or all of his background information.

Despite his campaign promises of transparency while in office, there has been no shortage of disputes over secrecy in the Obama administration. He's already argued in court for more secrecy in the White House, claimed his work is "privileged" and apparently got rid of an inspector general who was applying heat to a friend.

Good Grub In Fruitland

Joe-

A while back, you posted a 'review' on the new Chinese restaurant in Fruitland, Lucky Star. Many comments were posted-- some good, some not so good, but the point was made that they had just opened, and it was suggested that we give them a month or two to get their Peking Ducks in a row..

Well, we've eaten there twice in the last month, most recently yesterday. And I have to say, that we were delighted.

The food was very good, the atmosphere quite nice-- very clean and well-decorated-- and the staff was very friendly and eager to please.

We ate lunch, and the two of us were out the door for $21, including the tip, and we had a doggy bag.

I'd be interested to hear if our experience was unusual, but I doubt it was.

We've really missed Beijing since they closed, but I think we've found our new favorite place.

No Charges In Case of “Snatched” Teen

No charges will be filed against the family of a girl who was seen kicking and screaming in a mall security video that sparked an Amber Alert over the weekend, the Stafford County Sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Authorities said the family committed no crime. The teen was apparently trying to avoid moving to Florida with her family. The scene was caught on surveillance tape around 11:25 a.m. Saturday at the Target near Warrenton Road, just off Interstate 95. The tape shows the 17-year-old walking through the parking lot in front of the main entrance when suddenly a dark minivan pulls up next to her with its sliding door open. A man then jumps out of the driver’s seat and grabs the girl. He pulls her into the van with the help of two women while she tries to fight them. Several witnesses called 911 right away, and authorities issued a nationwide Amber Alert. The van was found around 12:20 a.m. Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla. Jacksonville Police said the family stopped in Stafford County on the way to a move to Ft. Lauderdale. The girl apparently didn't want to go, and her family forced her into the van so they could continue their trip, police said.

Now obviously, one of the most helpful aids to that end is a useful and accurate map, one showing not only where stuff was, but also showing the locations of 'safe houses' where a POW on-the-lam could go for food and shelter.

Paper maps had some real drawbacks -- they make a lot of noise when you open and fold them, they wear out rapidly, and if they get wet, they turn into mush.

Someone in MI-5 (similar to America 's OSS ) got the idea of printing escape maps on silk. It's durable, can be scrunched-up into tiny wads, and unfolded as many times as needed, and makes no noise whatsoever.

At that time, there was only one manufacturer in Great Britain that had perfected the technology of printing on silk, and that wasJohn Waddington, Ltd. When approached by the government, the firm was only too happy to do its bit for the war effort.

By pure coincidence, Waddington was also the U.K. Licensee for the popular American board game, Monopoly. As it happened, 'games and pastimes' was a category of item qualified for insertion into 'CARE packages', dispatched by the International Red Cross to prisoners of war.

Under the strictest of secrecy, in a securely guarded and inaccessible old workshop on the grounds of Waddington's, a group of sworn-to-secrecy employees began mass-producing escape maps, keyed to each region of Germany or Italy where Allied POW camps were regional system). When processed, these maps could be folded into such tiny dots that they would actually fit inside a Monopoly playing piece.

As long as they were at it, the clever workmen at Waddington's also managed to add:
1. A playing token, containing a small magnetic compass
2. A two-part metal file that could easily be screwed together
3. Useful amounts of genuine high-denomination German, Italian, and French currency, hidden within the piles of Monopoly money!

British and American air crews were advised, before taking off on their first mission, how to identify a 'rigged' Monopoly set -- by means of a tiny red dot, one cleverly rigged to look like an ordinary printing glitch, located in the corner of the Free Parking square.

Of the estimated 35,000 Allied POWS who successfully escaped, an estimated one-third were aided in their flight by the rigged Monopoly sets.. Everyone who did so was sworn to secrecy indefinitely, since the British Government might want to use this highly successful ruse in still another, future war.

The story wasn't declassified until 2007, when the surviving craftsmen from Waddington's, as well as the firm itself, were finally honored in a public ceremony.

It's always nice when you can play that 'Get Out of Jail' Free' card!

I realize some of you are too young to have any personal connection to WWII (Dec. '41 to Aug. '45), but this is still interesting.

A LETTER FROM A RETIRED BORDER PATROL AGENT

This letter sent to Tennessee Senator Bill Frist from a retired border patrol agent, and it has more common sense than all the bull being spewed from the Senate, with the exception of a few sensible representatives.

Dear Senator Frist:

There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.

#1. Illegal aliens generally do NOT want US citizenship. Americans are very vain thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a US citizen. Mexicans, and other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining the benefits offered by the United States such as employment, medical care, instate tuition, government subsidized housing and free education for their offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans. What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying the price.

#2. There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a decent wage.

#3. Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries. They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than 20 billion dollars sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and therefore assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their alien children assumed the responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.

#4. Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful US residents.

#5. This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.

#6. The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants by definition. The US accepts more lawful immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined.

#7. There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote." Hispanics are white, brown, black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats, Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.

#8. Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States. Since 1848 Mexicans have resented the United States. During World War I Mexico allowed German spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the US. During World War II Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the US from Mexico. During the Cold War, Mexico allowed spies hostile to the US to freely operate. The attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico. Today Mexican school children are taught that the US stole California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. If you don't believe it, check out some Mexican textbooks written for their school children.

#9. Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6 billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak into America, then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to trash another nation?

#10. There is a labor shortage in this country. This is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students, unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.

#11. It is racist to want secure borders. What is racist about wanting secure borders and a secure America? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens, children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying the price? For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There have already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to US citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep either way. There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the courage to do what is right for America? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs of those who don't even have the right to remain here? There will be a reckoning.

It will come in November of this year, again in 2012 and yet again in 2014. We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves.

Safe Streets “Successful Partnership

The City of Salisbury is pleased to report the successful completion of the first phase of a planned three phase clean-up effort.

Through the Salisbury Safe Street initiative, the city has partnered with the Department of Corrections (DOC) to clean-up rubbish from along the local railroad rights-of-way.

A group of supervised inmates worked with support from the Salisbury Department of Public Works (DPW) to remove nearly ten tons of rubbish from along a stretch of railroad running from College Avenue to Naylor Street.

Future projects include the continued clearing and cleaning of alleyways within the city as well as Mitchell Pond and Coty Cox branch.

According to Kristen Mahoney, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention, “Safe Streets is Governor O’Malley’s comprehensive effort to focus all of the state’s resources on public safety efforts. The partnership with the Department of Corrections complements public safety initiatives such as the focus on violent offenders by the Division of Parole and Probation through the Violence Prevention Initiative and the aggressive effort by the Maryland State Police and local law enforcement to arrest offenders with outstanding warrants.”

Mayor To D.C. Drivers: Just Pay Me

Paying up at a D.C. parking meter has become like practice for playing slots -- you keep pumping in the money even though you know there’s no hope of a payoff.

There’s at least one difference: In A.C., when you run out of money, you can just walk away. In D.C., you’ll return to find a fat ticket on your windshield.

That ticket will feel like small change if you interfere with traffic when you pull away from the curb or commit any of 70 other driving infractions.

MOREAU NAMED SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

‘Birds Lefty Allowed Just One Earned Run in May

The 23-year old becomes the first Shorebirds pitcher to earn the distinction from the South Atlantic League.

The Lilburn, Georgia native made just one start during the week but completely dominated the Lakewood BlueClaws on May 28 at Perdue Stadium. In six innings, he allowed one hit and no runs. Moreau also fanned eight batters and walked just one. The lone hit he surrendered was a bunt single by Leandro Castro in the first inning. Moreau retired 13 straight batters between the first and fifth innings.

He allowed just four hits during the scoreless innings streak.

The former University of Georgia star began the 2010 season in the bullpen before transitioning into a starting role on May 18 against West Virginia. He tossed four scoreless and hitless innings. He also struck out seven batters and retired 12 straight after issuing a walk in the first inning.

Moreau is expected to make his next start on Thursday night (June 3) against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park.

Kieron Pope Connects on First Homer of Season

Greensboro, N.C.

Paulino advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jose Torres. Then, Rand Smith drove a fly ball deep enough into center field to score Paulino. Following a Chase Austin single, Bass connected on his second homer of the game to give the ‘Hoppers a 4-2 advantage.

Chad Cregar tacked on another run as he hit a line drive homer over the right-center field wall in the fourth inning.

The Shorebirds chipped into the lead in the fifth inning. Brian Conley dropped a perfect bunt single to the right side to get aboard. Conley advanced to third on a throwing error by second baseman Jose Torres. Two batters, Kieron Pope hit a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Conley and trim the deficit to 5-3.

The Grasshoppers plated two more runs in the seventh against relief pitcher Tony Butler. Back-to-back walks by Butler forced in the first run and a sacrifice fly to left brought home the second run.

Don't Ever Tell Me Your Vote Can't Make A Difference

11 votes is all it took for Garland Hayward and Jay Parker to win their seats as Town Commissioners of Princess Anne. Joey Gardner won by a large margin, 138-65.

It looks like things are going to be quite different in Princess Anne. It's a healthy thing, having new Board Members stir things up. With a 10 cent tax increase last year, citizens showed they've had enough and wanted a different kind of change.

Will Gardner & Parker be the new Campbell & Cohen of Princess Anne??????
