Gowdy Hammers Hillary Mercilessly As He Destroys Her Benghazi Defense On Nat’l TV

You could call it the Gowdy version of an “f-bomb” — the GOP congressman’s repeated use of the word “false” when describing Hillary Clinton’s defense in the use and content of Benghazi-related emails she sent or received in her official duties as secretary of state. In a weekend appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, the chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi described Hillary’s excuses and explanations regarding her controversial email practices as “false” (twice), “demonstrably false,” and “patently false.”

Rep. Trey Gowdy of S.C. used the word “false” four different times as he tore into Clinton’s misstatements, deceptions, contrivances, and out-and-out lies about having come clean and turned over to the State Department all her work-related emails. And on the subject of the State Department under the direction of Secretary John Kerry, Gowdy told Face the Nation host John Dickerson that the committee he heads has been frustrated time and time again in trying to get State to release email correspondence between Hillary and her then-aides and associates.

Farmer Charged, Farm Raided, Animals Seized BECAUSE He Cared For Them Better Than A Factory Farm

Schenectady County, New York – Earlier this month, a family farm in rural New York was raided by police. The owners were cited on a number of “regulatory violations”. The owner of the farm, Joshua Rockwood, is being accused of mistreating his animals; an excuse for the local government to confiscate them.

Police initially visited Rockwood’s property on February 25th to investigate reports of unlicensed working dogs, weeks before the raid. Unfortunately, Rockwood naively decided to voluntarily show local police around his property. After showing them around, they wrote a number of citations for arbitrary offenses.

The very next day, a veterinarian visited the farm to check on the animals and confirm that they were well taken care of and in good health. The vet said that the animals were just fine, and did not seem to share the “concerns” that the officers alleged during their walk-through…

A second veterinarian was also called in to verify the health of the animals and they also found them to be in perfect health.

A week later, police returned again to notify Rockwood that he was to appear in court on a number of charges relating to the animal’s food and shelter. In total, 12 different charges were brought against Rockwood, but he has posted a number of photos to a Facebook support page, which shows the animals with sufficient housing, and plenty of food.

I’m not particular — except when companies do something I don’t like.


The pundits angrily refer to him as the “clown,” the “side show,” arguing he will ruin the debates. They seem to be saying, “Donald, we want only your money — not you!”

Not that he needs anyone to defend him, because when The Donald punches back, he punches HARD — with a precise uppercut.

But, wait a minute, what’s happening here? The truth is, Trump’s not only resonating; he’s defining the GOP race. Consequently, he driving the multitudes to not only come out from under the covers and define themselves, but also show the public where they are coming from. Let me explain:

Obama Takes Action Against Military Style Police Forces

Last Monday, US President Barack Obama, journeyed to Camden, N.J. Police Department to shine some light on crime reduction as well as their new community policing tactics that the Obama administration hopes can become a standard around the country. Due to the ridiculous number of recent police shootings aswell as the more clear coming increasing numbers of Immigrant deaths, the administration has finally decided to take action with the idea of a ban-list.

“We’ve seen how militarized gear can sometimes give people a feeling like there’s an occupying force as opposed to a force that’s part of the community that’s protecting them and serving them,” Obama said in Camden Monday. “It can alienate and intimidate local residents and send the wrong message.” the Administration stated.

The idea is to limit what Agencies such as the Defence, Justice and Homeland Security departments can provide to local police stations, even in the event of a riot.

The ban-list consists of; certain types of camouflage uniforms, bayonets, tank-like armoured vehicles that move on tracks (vehicles that don’t move on tracks?), grenade launchers, weaponized aircraft, firearms and ammunition of 50. caliber bullets or higher.

Illegal Alien Murderer Says He Chose San Francisco For Its ‘Sanctuary City’ Policies

Francisco Sanchez admitted to fatally shooting 32-year-old Kate Steinle last week in San Francisco — he moved to the city, he says, because he knew that he would not be deported due to its “sanctuary city” policies.

In a jailhouse interview with San Francisco’s KGO, Sanchez — who has been deported back to Mexico five times — said that he shot Steinle on Wednesday with a gun he found wrapped in a t-shirt at a popular tourist destination. He also said that he does not remember much because he had taken sleeping pills.

Sanchez was also asked: “Did you keep coming back to San Francisco because you knew that they wouldn’t actively look for you to deport you?”

“Yes,” replied Sanchez, who has been convicted of at least seven felonies.

Statewide July 4th Campaign Yields Significant Results


(PIKESVILLE, MD) –Troopers’ statewide campaign this past Fourth of July weekend resulted in significant results as efforts to keep Maryland roads safe will continue throughout the summer.

Maryland State Police installations across the state conducted initiatives during this Fourth of July weekend. Preliminary statistics revealed over 7,000 traffic stops were made. Troopers issued in excess of 5,100 citations and 4,100 warnings. There were an additional 790 repair orders issued for defective vehicle equipment.

The Maryland State Police S.P.I.D.R.E. Team was out this weekend concentrating their resources in the Langley Park area of Prince George’s County. Members of the team arrested 17 drivers for DUI. Of those arrested, six were repeat offenders and two others were transporting children in the vehicle while impaired. To date, the S.P.I.D.R.E. Team has made more than 1330 arrests since their inception in May 2013.
 

Troopers conducted traffic enforcement initiatives such as, Operations Millipede, Showboat, and Bear Claw throughout Maryland during this past weekend. Operation Millipede, along I-95, resulted in 536 vehicles stopped and almost 550 citations and 280 warnings issued. Operation Showboat, along Route 50, yielded 773 traffic stops resulting in approximately 560 citations and 306 warnings issued. Operations Bear Claw, along interstates 68 and 70 in Western Maryland, resulted in 784 vehicles stopped with 454 citations and 419 warnings issued. Additional initiatives will continue during the upcoming months focusing on impaired or distracted drivers, speeding and aggressive motorists, as well as those electing not to properly use safety restraints.

The Maryland State Police encourage all motorists to be considerate and patient while traveling. Remove as many distractions while driving and never get behind the wheel if you have been drinking. If you are impaired, call a friend or family member, use public transportation or stay where you are. If you see a driver you think is impaired or driving a vehicle in an unsafe manner, keep your distance and dial 9-1-1.

Not Everyone Likes the Fourth of July-Themed Al Jazeera Video that Mocks Americans as Fat, Gun-Toting Racists

Al Jazeera’s digital media platform AJ+ posted a Fourth of July-themed video mocking Americans as fat, cheese-eating, gun-toting, pill-popping, racist porn watchers.

While some on social media applauded the creation, others slammed the Qatar-owned network for using the holiday “to dump” on America.

Social media users got particularly riled up by the criticism coming from the channel owned by Qatar — a country where stoning is a legal punishment under Shariah law, women have second class legal status, writers can be imprisoned for criticizing the emir and abuse of foreign laborers has been repeatedly criticized by human rights groups.

The video is sarcastically titled “Americans Show Why USA Is The #1 Country In The World.”

CORDOVA, Md. (AP) — Mike Geske wants a drone.

Watching a flying demonstration on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the Missouri farmer envisions using an unmanned aerial vehicle to monitor the irrigation pipes on his farm — a job he now pays three men to do.

“The savings on labor and fuel would just be phenomenal,” Geske says, watching as a small white drone hovers over a nearby corn field and transmits detailed pictures of the growing stalks to an iPad.

Nearby, farmer Chip Bowling tries his hand at flying one of the drones. Bowling, president of the National Corn Growers Association, says he would like to buy one for his Maryland farm to help him scout out which individual fields need extra spraying.

CROWNSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Janice Hayes-Williams held a shard of a plate at the slave quarters archaeological dig at Belvoir, the site of an 18th-century plantation in Crownsville.

‘Oh, my, I found another one,” said the historian, an Annapolis resident.

Hayes-Williams was having a fruitful first day volunteering at the dig, carefully scraping and brushing thin layers of earth around a hearth in what was once a 34-by-34-foot structure that housed slaves — unusually big for slave quarters.

The property, now owned by the Rockbridge Academy, a private Christian school, had been occupied by a cross section of people over the last 300 years — the landed gentry, indentured servants, slaves, free blacks and soldiers from the Revolution, the War of 1812 and the Civil War.

Dollar Value over Real Cost: War and Oil

The oil and gas industry is a million dollar fossil fuel industry, which influences American politics every year. To date, it has been reported that over $34 million has been spent lobbying for government support. Pipelines, such as the controversial Keystone XL to export dangerous tar sands from Canada to the Gulf Coast, and Arctic offshore drilling by Shell, are high on agenda, with Obama publicly supporting a financial boost for the companies in April.

But there is no risk of immediate war in the Arctic, the only pro to drilling on the unstable shelf in a pristine sea; unlike the lobbyist counterparts in other oil rich regions, such as Iran, Iraq, and now Syria.

Lobbyists have pushed and targeted environmental regulations and scientific research into environmental research much like the bully in the school ground. Lamar Smith, a republican for the U.S House of Representatives, spoke recently at a climate change denial conference, attacking NASA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), stating “the science is clear and overwhelming but not in the way the President says. The fact is there is little evidence that climate change causes extreme weather events,” he continued his attack, “…the EPA justify their dictatorial approach by claiming regulations will slow global climate change and reduce carbon emissions. But heavy handed regulation and arbitrary emission targets will do lasting damage to our economy all for little environment impact.”

JUST IN: US appeals court upholds EPA plan to clean up Chesapeake Bay; farmers call it a power grab

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A U.S. appeals court on Monday approved a federal plan to limit pollution in the Chesapeake Bay despite objections from farmers, builders and others who accused the Environmental Protection Agency of a power grab.

The ruling by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upholds restrictions on farm and construction runoff and wastewater treatment, and has the support of environmentalists and officials in the six states that surround the Chesapeake.

"The Chesapeake Bay (plan) will require sacrifice by many, but that is a consequence of the tremendous effort it will take to restore health to the Bay — to make it once again a part of our "land of living," Circuit Judge Thomas Ambro wrote, quoting American poet Robert Frost.

Washington initially predicted a windfall of $36 million in taxes for its debut year of sales

Washington’s first year of legal marijuana sales has generated $70 million in tax revenue, a new report says.
That total follows the Evergreen State’s first stores selling the drug opening in July 2014, according to The Associated Press.

AP said Washington now boasts 160 marijuana stores and sales topping $1.4 million daily.

The state netted $250 million in sales of the plant during its first year of legal transactions. About $65 million of that haul stems from marijuana excise taxes.

The $70 million total in taxes for the state’s first year of sales includes all state and local sales and other taxes, AP reported.

Poll: Rise in Voters Backing States Over Supreme Court

After last week's Supreme Court rulings on Obamacare and same-sex marriage, more voters believe that states should have the right to ignore federal court rulings, a new Rasmussen Reports survey shows.

The poll found that one-third of the 1,000 likely voters surveyed agree that states should hold the power, up nine points from the 24 percent who agreed in a February Rasmussen poll.

Further, 52 percent of the voters in the current poll, taken between June 30-July 1, disagree that states should be allowed to go around the Supreme Court's rulings, down from 58 percent in February.

Report of single shot heard on Walter Reed Medical Center campus in Bethesda

BETHESDA, Md. (AP/WJLA) - Police say they are checking on a report of a single shot fired at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington.

Montgomery County police spokeswoman Natasha Plotnikov says a 911 caller reported hearing one shot inside Building 1, the original hospital on the campus in Bethesda, on Monday morning. She says police are on the scene checking the report.

All lanes of Maryland Route 355 were closed in both directions between Cedar Lane and Jones Bridge Road due to police activity. Some lanes at Rockville Pike near Walter Reed Medical Center and the National Institute of Health were also reportedly blocked, according to Montgomery County police.

Obama White House Pays Women 15.8 Percent Less Than Men

The Obama White House pays its female staffers 15.8 percent less on average than its male staffers, according to an analysis by the American Enterprise Institute.

AEI economics scholar Mark J. Perry looked at the salaries of all White House employees, which are publicly available, and averaged out those who were male and female.

Female staffers earned on average $65,650 a year to male staffers' $78,000, Perry found.

"Therefore, female staffers in the Obama White House currently earn 84.2% of the median salary for male staffers, or 84.2 cents for every $1 men earn, and there is a 15.8% gender pay gap at the White House," Perry wrote. "That pay gap is slightly smaller than the 17.9% gender pay gap at the White House last year, but is still almost two times the average gender pay gap for Washington, DC of 9.2% according to the most recent data from the Department of Labor."

Still, Perry noted, President Barack Obama makes presidential proclamations annually for National Equal Pay Day. This year, Obama marked April 14 as the date at which a woman must work into 2015 to earn the same as a man earned by Dec. 31, 2014.

"On average, full-time working women earn 78 cents for every dollar earned by men, and women of color face an even greater disparity," Obama said at this year's proclamation. "I call upon all Americans to recognize the full value of women's skills and their significant contributions to the labor force, acknowledge the injustice of wage inequality, and join efforts to achieve equal pay."

This is your personal investment. Upon retirement, if you took out
only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month.

That's almost three times more than today's average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration. (Google it – it’s a fact).

And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government hadjust invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.

But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a *benefit*, as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.

Just because they borrowed the money doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!

Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security
and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into ourgovernment.

Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the
sake of that 92% of our population who need it.
*Then call it what it is: *Our Earned Retirement Income*.

State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash, Georgetown

Georgetown, DE - The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early this morning.

Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. this morning, Monday July 6, 2015, as Trevor W. West, 32 of Georgetown, was operating a 2007 GMC Sierra northbound on DuPont Boulevard (US113) in the left lane just north of Bramhall Street. Jennifer L. Hughes, 44 of Dover, was walking eastbound across the highway from the center median when she walked into the path of the pickup truck. The GMC struck Hughes in the left lane causing her to land in the right northbound lane while the truck was able to come to a controlled stop just north of the impact in the center median.

Jennifer Hughes, who was not crossing in a designated crosswalk and not carrying a flashlight, was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Trevor West, who was properly restrained, was uninjured in the crash.

Haley says church shooting will forever change her outlook

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — For five years, Gov. Nikki Haley, South Carolina’s first minority governor, dismissed calls to remove the Confederate battle flag from the Statehouse lawn as a divisive issue far from her agenda.

In her 2010 campaign, she said the two-thirds legislative approval required to move the flag from its 30-foot perch was too high a hurdle to allow for real debate. When her re-election opponent called last fall for it to be removed, she branded it a desperate stunt.

None of that mattered, she said, after nine people were killed last month at a black church in Charleston, including its pastor, State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, in a crime she called “pure hate.” When Haley arrived at the church, she found strangers hugging and weeping, and the grief was overwhelming.

Incident: Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

Date of Incident: 3 July 2015

Location: 8800 block of Athol Road, Mardela Springs, MD

Narrative: On 3 July 2015 at 7:54 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported motor vehicle collision between a vehicle and an off road ATV. Preliminary investigation revealed that the ATV was being operated by a 7 year old male subject who attempted to cross the road and pulled out in the path of an oncoming Ford sedan. The 7 year old was critically injured in the collision and was transported to PRMC. While at PRMC the 7 year old operator succumbed to his injuries.

There were no injuries to any occupants in the Ford sedan.

This collision in currently under investigation by the Collision Reconstruction Unit of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. Athol Road remained closed for several hours during the course of the investigation.

Puerto Rico’s Minimum Wage Object Lesson

A report released by the Puerto Rican government this week fingers the territory’s minimum wage as a prime factor in its emerging debt crisis. Though its economy is significantly less developed than even the poorest American states, it is still subject to the federal $7.25 minimum wage, 77 percent of its median wage. This high wage floor acts as a significant employment barrier, contributing to the island’s pathetic 43 percent labor force participation rate and its economic stagnation in general.

Puerto Rico’s minimum wage — and the one being debated across the rest of the United States — is a historic anomaly. When first passed in the 1930s, it didn’t apply to low-wage sectors of the economy like agriculture, retail sales, hotels and restaurants. Rather, it was the shift to the south of northern manufacturing jobs in search of cheaper labor that drove the idea of a federal wage floor. Predictably, even with industry exemptions from Roosevelt’s New Deal wage law, his Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins reported to the president that the new law was causing people to lose jobs.

Activists burn Confederate flag in Baltimore

As the controversy surrounding the Confederate battle flag continues around the nation, Baltimore activists gathered in a vacant lot on the Fourth of July to burn one of the banners they said represents slavery and racism.

About a dozen members of the Peoples Power Assembly and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference gathered near Charles Street and North Avenue and circled a small grill that cradled a balled-up battle flag soaked in lighter fluid.

Before they set it on fire, members read portions of Frederick Douglass' 1852 speech, "What, to the American slave, is your Fourth of July?"

Amid all the contemporary political and cultural contests, too many conservatives fail to make the case for overarching eternal truths -- whether in debate with adversaries across the aisles of Congress, or with neighbors across Main Street.

Lost in the din is the foundational endowment of Essential Liberty, and any debate that does not begin with this eternal truth will end with temporary deceits.

The most oft-cited words from our Declaration of Independence are these: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The eternal assertion that Liberty for all people is "endowed by their Creator" and is thus "unalienable" should require no defense, because "we hold these truths to be self-evident," and because the rights of man are irrevocable from the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God."

But the root of all debate between Liberty and tyranny -- or, in political parlance, between Right and left -- is the contest to assert who endows Liberty -- God or man.

Contemporary Leftist protagonists seek to replace Rule of Law with the rule of men. This is because the former is predicated on the principle that Liberty is "endowed by our Creator," while the latter asserts that government is the giver of Liberty.

The history of man, since its first record, has repeatedly and tragically documented that when the people settle for the assertion that government is the source of their rights, tyranny is the inevitable result. And tyrants always attempt to undermine Liberty by driving a wedge between it and its foundational endowment by our Creator.

For generations, American liberals have driven that wedge by asserting that our Constitution provides a "wall of separation" between church and state. But does it?

Corncob bits instead of chemicals for weed control? Sounds like an interesting, if not slightly odd possibility, doesn’t it?

U.S. Department of Agriculture research agronomist Frank Forcella has been using an air compressor to spray gritty material like corncob bits on both sides of a crop to kill young weeds without harming corn or soybeans. His method utilizing the new technology is gaining attention from organic farmers who don’t use chemicals to control weeds in their fields.

“It obliterates the weed, especially if it’s a small broad-leaved weed like Lamb’s quarters or pigweed that’s one to 3 inches high,” Forcella said. “The corn plants growing next to them are taller and thicker and can withstand the grit blast, but the weeds just disappear.”

Food companies who have been forced by consumer demand to provide snacks and staples that don’t have agrichemicals are interested, too.

The American Civil Liberties Union has filed suit against a Kentucky clerk for refusing to give wedding licenses to four couples, two of whom are “gay.”

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis said her religious beliefs barred her from complying with the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that requires states to marry homosexuals. And instead of discriminating, she decided to stop issuing licenses altogether – for homosexuals and heterosexuals, Fox News reported.

Kentucky’s highest-ranking officials – Gov. Steve Beshear and Attorney General Jack Conway – warned clerks on Friday, right after the court’s decision made the media waves, to comply or risk criminal charges that could bring up to a year in jail.

CLINTON CAMPAIGN ROPES OFF REPORTERS AT NEW HAMPSHIRE PARADE

Campaign aides for Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton on Saturday roped off reporters from the candidate as she walked and talked with potential voters during a July Fourth parade in New Hampshire, sparking frustration from the press corps and outrage from the state Republican Party.

“Hillary Clinton continues to demonstrate her obvious contempt and disdain for the Granite State’s style of grassroots campaigning,” New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn said in a statement. “The use of a rope line at a New Hampshire parade is a sad joke and insults the traditions of our first-in-the-nation primary.”

Reporters were reportedly allowed to get close to Clinton but were later herded away by campaign aides concerned about crowd control.

“Spectacle of Clinton as candidate — press being pulled along with a rope,” tweeted New York Times presidential campaign correspondent Maggie Haberman.

Lawmakers spend $2M on hotels, food and miles

Each year the members of the General Assembly spend 90 days raking over the state budget, debating $100,000 here, $1 million there.

Meanwhile, on the taxpayers' dime, they are staying in hotels, claiming expenses for mileage and eating meals. This year Maryland's lawmakers spent about $2 million in this way, most of it stemming from hotel stays. That amount is close to last year's.

Some lawmakers pledge not to spend any money in this way; others say the reimbursed expenses help them operate more efficiently. Elected officials can claim $100 a day for lodging, $45 a day for meals and $0.575 per mile.

Poll: 70 percent of Americans believe news media is intentionally biased

Nearly three quarters of Americans believe the news media reports with an intentional bias, according to a new survey.

The 2015 State of the First Amendment Survey, conducted by the First Amendment Center and USA Today, was released Friday. It shows that only 24 percent of American adults agree with the statement that “overall, the news media tries to report the news without bias,” while 70 percent disagree.

When the question was asked last year, 41 percent agreed, a 17-point difference.

“These are discouraging results for those of us who have spent our careers in journalism,” Ken Paulson, president of the First Amendment Center, wrote in an op-ed for USA Today on Thursday. “In 23 years in newsrooms, I saw consistent and concerted efforts to get stories right. Clearly, the public’s not convinced.”

33-year-old Thomas Jefferson’s original rough draft of the Declaration contained a line condemning slavery: “He has waged cruel war against human nature itself … in the persons of a distant people who never offended him, captivating and carrying them into slavery in another hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their transportation thither … suppressing every legislative attempt to prohibit or to restrain this execrable commerce determining to keep open a market where men should be bought and sold.”

A few delegates objected, and since the Declaration needed to pass unanimously and time was running short with the British invading New York, the line condemning slavery was unfortunately omitted.

Letter From An Australian to America: Here's Why I Love You, USA

It’s December 1985 in Sydney, Australia. Two parents are at wits’ end. Something is not right with their 16-month-old child. For months, they have visited doctor after doctor. No one can tell them what is wrong. On the night before Christmas Eve, with their child more unsettled than unusual, they head for the emergency room at Children’s Hospital.

The ward is nearly deserted, but there is one overnight doctor – a young man with a smiling face and an accent. As he looks the child over, the smile evaporates: “I think your son has neuroblastoma. Get him in for tests first thing in the morning.” Next day, the parents’ worst fears are confirmed. It is Stage IV neuroblastoma, a rare type of childhood cancer.

The parents were mine. The child was me. The doctor, it turned out, was an American.

Through the healing hands of God, the Master Physician, I defied the odds and lived. The instincts of the American doctor, fresh out of college, only in Australia for an internship, just in time, were crucial. So I haven’t only studied American exceptionalism. I’ve lived it. Military and U.S. Agents Patrolling Texas Streets Asking Mysterious Questions

In the first video below, you’ll learn that there seems to be some developments on the DHS and FEMA Mobile Command Centers we spotted in Texas last week at a Federal Express Terminal.

In the second video is footage of when the Mobile Command Centers first showed up. When we first inquired, we were told the units were just there for storage, yet less than a week later, the Command Centers are driving the streets of Texas, and squads of agents are are going door-to-door asking residents about storm damage. D.H.S.? Storm Damage? I don’t think so. Worse, is these agents are asking in areas that have not been hit by storms. What are these agents really doing? Why are they going door-to-door?

Obama Leaves God Out of Independence Day Address

President Barack Obama marked the 239th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with his annual video tribute to America, but some people noticed something he didn't say.

"Obama left out any mention of God in his recent address," wrote Gateway Pundit. "Instead, this year, he chose to end his speech with a very politically correct, 'Thanks, everybody. From my family to yours, have a safe and happy Fourth of July.'"

References to God have been fading over the past two years. Obama ended his 2013 Independence Day address with the typical presidential closing, "So, God bless you all. And may God bless The United States of America."

In 2014, he shortened it to simply, "God bless you all."

NASCAR Fans Defy Request to Hide Confederate Flags at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Fans at Daytona International Speedway are defending and displaying their Confederate flags.

At NASCAR’s first race in the South since the racing series and its tracks urged fans to no longer wave the banner, dozens of Confederate flags were scattered throughout the vast infield.

The first motorhome inside the Turn 4 tunnel has one flying high above it, and it doesn’t take long to reach double figures when counting them on a stroll through the infield. They’re on clothing, coolers and cars, and even tattooed on skin.

NASCAR took a stance on the Confederate flag after last month’s South Carolina church massacre. The series stopped short of banning fans from displaying the flag at its events, but Daytona and 29 other tracks asked fans to refrain from flying them.

Not everyone obliged.

Meeting at the age of just eight years old when they decided to become boyfriend and girlfriend, Jeanette and Alexander Toczko would have nothing less than to be with each other until death did them part. Being married for 75 years is a long time and truly an accomplishment. They’re basically living out a real-life version of The Notebook. You have to hear this couple’s amazing story.

Hoppy Beer Is Giving You Man Boobs

Three members of a Wilmington, Delaware, family who were poisoned by pesticide while on a Caribbean vacation remain paralyzed and are not expected to recover further, U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp said during a June 30 news conference.

“Unfortunately, I have to give some bad news. The family that were the victims of the poisoning at Sirenusa is not doing well,” Mapp said, reports the Virgin Islands Daily News.

The four members of the Esmond family are believed to have been exposed to methyl bromide on March 18 while staying at the $800-a-night Sirenusa resort on St. John.

Suspect in killing of San Francisco woman had been deported five times

San Francisco (CNN)Kate Steinle was walking on a busy pier in San Francisco with her father when there was a single popping sound in the air.

She fell to the ground, struck by a bullet, the victim of what police say appears to be a random killing.

The man accused of firing the deadly shot -- 45-year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez -- is an undocumented immigrant, a repeat felon who has been deported five times to Mexico, according to immigration officials.

It would have been six, a federal law enforcement source told CNN, except authorities in San Francisco wanted him on a drug-related warrant.

So U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which had Lopez-Sanchez in its custody in March after his release from federal prison, turned him over to San Francisco deputies. ICE said they requested an immigration detainer, asking that the agency be notified before Lopez-Sanchez was released.
