From Bill Clinton to Anthony Weiner to Roman Polanski to Harvey Weinstein, past liberal winners of the Alyssa Milano Award for Cognitive Collapse have found a bevy of assorted predators and perverts as useful tools for their career advancement in politics and cinema, to be condemned with Casablanca-like shock only when their usefulness had ended.
No stranger to this phenomenon is Hawaii Democrat Sen. Mazie Hirono, who famously told male defenders of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to shut up and step up as he was politically blindfolded and shot by an assortment of Democratic wife-beaters and draft-dodgers on the Senate Judiciary Committee:
Hirono made some truly remarkable statements last week. "Not only do women like Dr. Ford, who bravely comes forward, need to be heard, but they need to be believed," she insisted. She added, "I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change."
Yet Mazie Hirono failed to step up and believe Hawaiian women accusing Daniel Inouye in 1992, who would go on to become, like Sen. Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy, a celebrated and honored senator. A recent letter to the editor in the Maui News gives us a hint of her volcanic hypocrisy and double standards regarding the late Sen. Inouye, accused of being a serial sexual predator by a bevy of women one might say were, what's the word, credible:

Women's March leader Sarsour launches racial attack against 'white woman' Susan Collins
Activist accuses Maine Republican of 'white supremacy'
Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour on Friday launched a racial attack against Sen. Susan Collins, saying the Maine Republican was guilty of espousing “white supremacy” with her decision to support the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Ms. Sarsour, a prominent Palestinian-American activist, blasted Ms. Collins on Twitter as a “white woman” and the “mother & grandmother of white women in America who gave us a Donald Trump presidency.”
Ms. Sarsour’s comments came after Ms. Collins announced on the Senate floor that she would vote in favor of confirming Judge Kavanaugh, calling him an “exemplary public servant, judge, teacher, coach, husband and father.”

NBC insider: Megyn Kelly is milking the #MeToo movement
Megyn Kelly told Us Weekly that she has inside information about the network’s disgraced golden boy Matt Lauer.
“I know too much that others don’t know,” Kelly said after the mag asked if she thought Lauer could make a comeback from his epic sexual misconduct scandal.
The comment did not go over well with some veterans at NBC.
“There were a lot of eye rolls. What does she really know? She’s not close to anyone here,” scoffed an insider.
The insider added, “She’s milking the #MeToo movement. People are counting down the days until she’s gone.”

Trump Slams Protesting "Elevator Screamers": 'They're Paid For By Soros
Thousands of demonstrators, including celebrity "feminists" like Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski, descended on Capitol Hill Thursday to protest Trump SCOTUS pick Judge Brett Kavanaugh after the FBI once again found no evidence of sexual misconduct in the SCOTUS nominee's past. Their concerns were promptly ignored by the Senate, which is planning to hold a confirmation vote for Kavanaugh as soon as tomorrow. But in response to the revelation that several of the professional activists, including the two young women who accosted Senator Jeff Flake last week, were exposed as "employees" of a non-profit organization funded by George Soros, President Trump has weighed in on Twitter, blasting the "elevator screamers" in a tweet that was essentially red meat for his base.
Trump slammed the "very rude elevator screamers", accusing them of being "paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad" before warning the American people "Don’t fall for it!" As evidence of the coordination behind the supposedly grass roots protest, Trump pointed to the signs carried by demonstrators and their suspiciously polished appearance "Look at the professionally made identical signs," Trump said. "Paid for by Soros and others.'

Soros-Funded MoveOn.org Threatens ‘Direct Action’ in D.C.
Activist Robert Reich, who served as Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Labor, sent out a blast email on behalf of MoveOn.org on Thursday asking for donations to fund “MoveOn’s emergency campaign to stop Brett Kavanaugh.”
In the email, MoveOn.org, which has been massively backed by billionaire George Soros, warned the group’s anti-Kavanaugh plot is set to include “direct actions in Washington, D.C., at Senate office buildings, including busing in constituents from key states.”
The radical organization also wrote in the email it was planning to:
Escalate pressure on key senators, especially Susan Collins. Collins is the key swing vote in this process, and MoveOn is continuing to lift up stories from her constituents, support direct actions in Maine, and purchase ads in her state calling for her to stand with survivors, defend reproductive rights, and stop Kavanaugh.
Hold Republicans accountable. We will not forget their party’s actions at last week’s hearing, their unwavering support for Kavanaugh, and their attempts to discredit Dr. Blasey Ford and others when we head to the ballot box in five weeks. Ending GOP control of Congress and electing people who believe survivors. We will end GOP control of Congress and elect people who believe survivors and listen to women—because the fight for our fundamental rights is essential.
“Will you chip in $3 right now and help support MoveOn’s emergency campaign to stop Brett Kavanaugh?” the email asked.

New Warning About Anti-Inflammatory Drug
Voltar was a Viking comic-book character in an award-winning comic-book series by the same name. It first appeared in 1963.
He was the precursor of Conan the Barbarian, who, when brought to the silver screen in 1982, launched the movie career of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Voltaren, on the other hand, is a U.S. brand name for a strong-armed NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) called diclofenac, which has recently been called out by Danish researchers in a study published by the journal BMJ.
It turns out that diclofenac users showed a 20 percent greater rate of "atrial fibrillation, ischemic stroke, heart failure, heart attack, or heart-related death in the 30 days following their prescription fill" than those who took acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

Investigate the Senate Democrat Wrecking Machine
How did we get here? The Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination circus didn't happen by accident. The emergence of incredible — and by "incredible," I mean the literal Merriam-Webster definition of "too extraordinary and improbable to be believed" — accusers in the 11th hour was no mistake.
It is my contention that this grand unearth-and-destroy spectacle was planned, coordinated and facilitated by Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats and their staffers.
After the FBI finishes its Freshmen Booze Investigations, Federal Barfight Interrogations and Fraternity Barfing Incidents probe of every last Yale and Holton Arms acquaintance and publicity hound ever photographed with Judge Brett Kavanaugh, every cog in the Resistance Wrecking Machine must be investigated:
Protest Orchestration. The hearings were doomed from the very start, when 70 screaming demonstrators (including Women's March holy warrior Linda Sarsour and actress Piper Perabo) systematically infiltrated the Hart Senate Office Building and disrupted the proceedings in Hour One of Day One. Day Two saw another 72 social justice mobsters arrested, with more than 200 total taken into custody by Capitol Police by the end of Day Three.
Taxpayers have a right to know who sponsored the deliberate sabotage and abuse of the gallery pass privilege, which has been in place since 1890. As the U.S. Senate website notes, "A code of conduct for visitors to the galleries is set by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and is enforced by the doorkeepers ... each gallery pass requires the 'signature' of a senator or officer of the Senate." We've seen this partisan-organized circus mayhem before.

Limbaugh: 80 Percent of the Liberal Agenda Has Been Forced on Us From the Courts
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said on Thursday that 80 percent of the "liberal agenda" has been "forced" on Americans from the courts.
"Eighty percent, if not more, of the liberal agenda that is governing the culture of this country has not passed in our Congress or legislatures," Limbaugh said. "Eighty percent of the destructive pop culture impulses of the American left have been forced on us by courts, and that is why all of this, among many other reasons, is so crucial that the Democrat Party."
Limbaugh's comments come amid the contentions fight over the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the highest court. If confirmed, Kavanaugh could cement the court to a more conservative majority. Kavanaugh would replace retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, who was a swing vote on the court. On some of the biggest cases, Kennedy sided with the liberal justices when it came to social issues like gay marriage.
Limbaugh added that former President Barack Obama got much of his agenda through executive action.
"Obama got everything he wanted done via executive action and executive order, which is one reason why Trump had such ease repealing it," Limbaugh said. "So a majority of people in this country are forced to live in a culture that they reject and yet has not been voted on."

China Spy Chips Report Adds Pressure on Pentagon Cloud Security
Tech providers vying for a $10 billion Defense Department cloud-computing contract may come under added pressure to prove their systems are secure after a report that China sneaked spy chips onto servers used by U.S. companies including Amazon.com Inc., a top contender for the Pentagon award.
Amazon, the market leader in cloud-computing services, was among almost 30 companies including Apple Inc. whose servers were infiltrated according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report based on more than a dozen sources in the government and private sector.
Apple, Amazon, server component seller Super Micro Computer Inc. and the Chinese government denied the report. When asked for comment on the implications for its Pentagon bid, Amazon pointed to its statement denying the report.
Security and procurement experts said Amazon’s prospects for winning the cloud services award may not be affected because it can argue that it was a victim that uncovered the problem. According to the report, Amazon unearthed the breaches, which happened at factories run by subcontractors in China, alerted authorities and took action to limit the consequences.

Trump: Kavanaugh Protesters ‘Paid Professionals’ by George Soros
President Donald Trump dismissed the hordes of liberal protesters flocking to the Supreme Court and Capitol Hill on Friday.
“The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Don’t fall for it!”
“Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs,” he wrote. “Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love!”
Some of the women who confronted Sen. Jeff Flake in the elevator and Sen. Mitch McConnell at an airport are from the Center for Popular Democracy, a protest group funded by Soros.

PA Governor Vows To Sign Gun Control Bill 'Immediately'
We don’t expect Democrats to protect our Second Amendment rights. We’re happy that some do, but as a party, we know how they feel about guns. Of course, these days, they seem to be trying to ramp up the anti-gun vitriol to 11.
All of which means the governor of Pennsylvania, a Democrat, saying he’ll immediately sign a new gun control bill isn’t shocking, though it is disappointing.
The measure that Gov. Tom Wolf is backing, HB 2060, was approved 131-62 by the Pennsylvania House last week and 43-5 by the Senate on Wednesday. The aim of the proposal is to pump up the existing surrender gun policy of convicted abusers in the Commonwealth and the Democrat vowed to sign it as soon as it hits his desk.
The bill would make those subject to a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction or a final Protection From Abuse order relinquish their guns and ammunition to police or a gun shop within 24 hours of a hearing. Current law, which allows more judicial discretion on ordering surrenders, grants a 60-day window and the ability for those subject to such surrender orders to give their arms to a third-party, such as a friend or family member, to hold. An amendment by state Sen. John Eichelberger, R-Blair Township, to continue to allow friends to hold guns was defeated 39-9. Those who don’t comply face two years in prison and a fine of as much as $5,000.
Second Amendment groups argue that spurious orders have in the past been filed vindictively and that gun owners can easily lose their firearms and right to keep and bear arms pending lengthy legal appeals and, even if they get their guns back, could leave them on the hoof for thousands in storage fees. Further, they point out that police could sell guns stored with them after a year as surplus property and keep the money.

Why Nobody Trusts the FBI… and that’s a good thing
When the FBI came out with a report on Hillary Clinton weeks before the 2016 election, Democrats were livid.
But so were Republicans… The report said that even though she had committed a crime by negligently using a personal computer for state business, she would not be charged.
Democrats later cheered the FBI as the Mueller Probe began investigating Trump. Investigations are the same thing as a guilty verdict, right?
And Republicans fumed when it surfaced that two agents exchanged anti-Trump text messages. They even discussed ways to subvert the presidential election and choose the winner!
And now Democrats are back to accusing the FBI of being a partisan tool used by whoever is in power. That’s because an FBI investigation could not prove a 36-year-old sexual assault accusation true.
Clearly, no one feels super confident in the FBI. And of course, we shouldn’t. They’re sketchy as all hell.
J. Edgar Hoover set the tone when, as Director of the FBI, he compiled a list of disloyal Americans. He’s famous for his enemies lists, in fact. But you didn’t have to break any laws to be considered an enemy…
Let’s not forget that the FBI murdered Vicki Weaver at Ruby Ridge. And they probably assassinated Martin Luther King Jr.–they definitely blackmailed him and encouraged him to kill himself.
More recently the FBI spent three years covering up evidence that they sent snipers to surround Bundy Ranch. They conspired with the Bureau of Land Management to suppress evidence favorable to the Bundy’s.
The FBI also performs warrantless searches of computers using paid informants on The Geek Squad.
And the FBI received at least two tips about the Parkland Shooter in the months before the shooting…
This looks even sketchier in light of their standard operating procedure for entrapping would-be terrorists. They usually provide the plot, equipment, and fake explosives, and then arrest the suspect at the scene.
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh also has an interesting relationship with the FBI…

WALSH: The FBI Must Now Investigate Christine Ford. Here's Why.
The FBI has completed its investigation into Brett Kavanaugh and it looks as if the wrongfully accused judge may be on his way to a Senate confirmation. Hopefully, for him and his family, the nightmare will soon be over.
Of course, Democrats are unsatisfied with the FBI's findings because the FBI found nothing. They want another investigation. On that point, I actually agree with them. Once Kavanaugh is officially confirmed, perhaps there should be another investigation — an investigation into Christine Ford, her attorneys, and Senate Democrats. There is plenty of smoke to indicate that this was all a highly-coordinated political hit job. If it was — indeed, if there was any coordination at all, in any form — then this would be one of the great scandals in American political history.
Let's review the evidence that potentially points toward something sinister:
1) Leland Keyser, the (former, I'm assuming) friend of Christine Ford who denied ever attending the party she described or even knowing Brett Kavanaugh at all, nowreports that she was pressured to change, or "revisit," her testimony. Who allegedly did the pressuring? None other than Monica McLean, the retired FBI agent and friend of Ford who, according to Ford's ex-boyfriend, had been coached by Ford on how to pass a lie detector test. When the ex-boyfriend initially told that story, it was assumed that McLean was just a random friend. Now we find out that she has been deeply involved this whole time.
2) Christine Ford has refused to turn over her therapy notes or any of the documentation from her polygraph test. If she is telling the truth, these materials would be enormously important evidence in her favor. If she is not telling the truth, these materials might destroy her case and, at a minimum, open her up to perjury charges. The fact that she will not turn over the evidence seems to indicate that it falls into the latter category, not the former.

Democrats' New Anti-Gun Laws Are Also an Attack on Due Process
The notion that certain Americans are pre-emptively guilty of wrongdoing, whether there's any corroborating evidence to back up an accusation or not, isn't reserved for conservatives who happen to be in contention for a Supreme Court seat. In the hierarchy of progressive values, due process is a bottom dweller.
Over the past decade, you could see the illiberalism evolving on college campuses, where Democrats subverted basic standards of justice. It was the Obama administration that demanded schools judge cases of alleged sexual assaults under a "clear and convincing evidence" standard rather than on a "preponderance of evidence" standard, allowed accusers to appeal "not guilty" findings and permitted the meting out of punishment before any investigation was even conducted, among other big problems. Democrats are simply shepherding those corrosive standards into the real world.
Another area of American life where we continue to see egregious attacks on the presumption of innocence is gun ownership. You might remember that a couple of years ago, Democrats engaged in a much-covered congressional "sit-in" to support legislation that would have stripped Americans on secret government watchlists -- hundreds of thousands of people who had never been accused, much less convicted, of any crime -- of their constitutional right to bear arms.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, in fact, proposed legislation that would have restricted not only American citizens on faulty watchlists but anyone who had been on any watchlist at any time during the previous five years and anyone who had traveled to select Middle Eastern countries. Apparently, Democrats believe limiting the number of refugees from Syria is unconstitutional but explicitly restricting the constitutional rights of Syrian immigrants here legally is just fine.

We Are All Deplorables Now
Four days after he described Christine Blasey Ford, the accuser of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, as a "very credible witness," President Donald Trump could no longer contain his feelings or constrain his instincts.
With the fate of his Supreme Court nominee in the balance, Trump let his "Make America Great Again" rally attendees in Mississippi know what he really thought of Ford's testimony.
"'Thirty-six years ago this happened. I had one beer.' 'Right?' 'I had one beer.' 'Well, you think it was (one beer)?' 'Nope, it was one beer.' 'Oh, good. How did you get home?'"
'I don't remember.' 'How did you get there?' 'I don't remember.' 'Where is the place?' 'I don't remember.' 'How many years ago was it?' 'I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.'"
By now the Mississippi MAGA crowd was cheering and laughing.
Trump went on: "'What neighborhood was it in?' 'I don't know.' 'Where's the house?' 'I don't know.' 'Upstairs, downstairs, where was it?' 'I don't know. But I had one beer. That's the only thing I remember.'"
Since that day three years ago when he came down the escalator at Trump Tower to talk of "rapists" crossing the U.S. border from Mexico, few Trump remarks have ignited greater outrage.
Commentators have declared themselves horrified and sickened that a president would so mock the testimony of a victim of sexual assault.

Maryland woman allegedly sets apartment complex on fire because she was 'upset with ex-boyfriend,' officials say
A Maryland woman is in custody after officials say she set an apartment complex on fire because she was “upset” with her ex-boyfriend.
Natasha Ciara Joyner, 32 was arrested on Thursday after investigators say she started a fire at an apartment complex in New Carrollton that resulted in four damaged buildings, 130 displaced residents and $2.2 million in estimated damages.
Prince George’s County Fire Department firefighters responded to the three-alarm fire on Sept. 17 around 3:30 p.m. It took almost two hours for firefighters to extinguish the flames.

Clinton Sex Scandal Whistleblower: Ford Has Severely Damaged #MeToo
Linda Tripp, the woman who exposed former President Bill Clinton's sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky, said in an interview this week that Christine Blasey Ford has severely damaged the #MeToo movement.
Daily Mail reports that Tripp, 68, said that the weaponization of unsubstantiated allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh were "smacking of a political agenda" and set the #MeToo movement back a decade.
"Any allegations of sexual assault should be heard but I have to wonder at the timing of Ford’s decision to come forward," Tripp said. "He was a judge in I think the second highest court of the land for several years but that was not enough to propel her forward. She didn’t come forward when she shared it with a therapist, why not?"

‘Make them scared’ website posts uncorroborated sexual assault claims
A website allegedly run by University of Washington students allows individuals to publicly accuse people of sexual assault with no evidence.
The website, titled “Make them scared UW,” was first registered in November of last year but reportedly launched in late September of this year by University of Washington students, the Daily UW campus newspaper reports.
It appears that the list of accused rapists and sexual assault perpetrators has grown substantially on the site in recent weeks in the wake of the rape claims made against U.S. Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Meanwhile, one student named on “Make them scared UW” told The College Fix that the allegation is false, that the University of Washington has dismissed the allegations against him as completely uncorroborated and cleared him of any wrongdoing.
Thus far, every person named on the list is male, and their names include the school they attend. Many listed on the site appear to be University of Washington students, but as apparent word of this site has spread, students from many other colleges are now listed, too.
The site does not employ any mechanisms to verify the truth of any accusations it publishes, and the website’s moderators attempt to protect themselves from liability or criticism by stating atop the list of the accused: “Please remember, just because a name is on this list does not mean the individual is guilty. All it means is that we have received an accusation against them.”

In response, an IDF aircraft carried out two strikes in Gaza.
The Hamas-run “health ministry” in Gaza claimed that two Gazan Arabs, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed by Israeli fire in the clashes along the border.
A further 142 people were wounded including five in a critical condition, a spokesman for the bureau told AFP.
Senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar declared on Sunday that the border riots along the Gaza border will continue until they achieve their goals.

New Documents Show State Department Working with Soros Group to Channel Money to Far-Left Activists in Albania
Judicial Watch has released 49 pages of new documents obtained from the U.S. Department of State about U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funding for George Soros’s left-wing nonprofit organizations in Albania. The documents deal primarily with the activities of Soros’ top operative in Albania, Andri Dobrushi, the director of Open Society Foundation-Albania, who was actively engaged in channeling funding to what Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban calls Soros’ “mercenary army.” The documents show U.S. grant money flowing through non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that profess to promote “civil society,” while in fact attacking traditional, pro-American groups, governments and policies.
The records reveal that Soros operative Dobrushi was the first person on a list of invitees by then U.S. Ambassador to Albania Donald Lu to attend an “election rollout event” held at the U.S. Embassy on April 27, 2015. The event was intended to “launch U.S. assistance for the June local elections,” being held in Tirana, Albania. As Judicial Watch previously reported in an April 4, 2018, press release, Ambassador Lu has been closely associated with Soros and the socialist government in Albania, which he assisted by denying U.S. visas to conservative jurists from the conservative party in Albania. Lu has since been nominated by the Trump administration to become US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, a June 18, 2015, email from Ilva Cuko, a Program Specialist in the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, invites several people, including Dobrushi, to a “Donors Grant Reviewing meeting” at the U.S. Embassy, in which the participants would review applications for grants submitted by NGOs seeking U.S. taxpayer grant money from the State Department. Cuko says she would “like to invite you in a discussion on these proposals. Your valuable input and comments will be used by the U.S. Embassy’s Democracy Commission, which has the ultimate authority in awarding the grants.”

Deputies warn parents of new drug circulating schools known as 'strawberry quick'
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio - Authorities are sending out a warning to parents about a new drug known as 'strawberry quick.'
According to authorities, the drug is a type of crystal meth that looks like strawberry pop rocks and smells like strawberry. Students are getting the drug thinking it's candy and then being rushed to the hospital, authorities say.
The drug also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange.
Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are telling parents to remind their kids not to take candy that looks like the picture they provided. If they see any such 'candy,' they should tell their teachers or principals right away.

Case to Block Judicial Watch from Getting Antifa Activism Records “Entirely Frivolous”
A California teacher’s case to block Judicial Watch from obtaining public records about her violent Antifa activism is “entirely frivolous,” a federal judge said during a hearing this week in San Francisco. The Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) middle school teacher, Yvette Felarca, is a national organizer for a radical leftist group and last year Judicial Watch filed a California Public Records Act (CPRA) request to get information about her violent Antifa activism. Claiming to be the victim of a political witch hunt, Felarca sued the district in federal court to keep it from fulfilling its legal obligation to provide Judicial Watch with the records.
In Judicial Watch’s 24-year history of submitting thousands of public records requests and litigating hundreds of public records lawsuits in state and federal courts nationwide, a third party has never sued to stop a government agency from responding to one of its requests. Additionally, Judicial Watch has never been required to litigate a state public records act lawsuit in a federal court. At this week’s hearing Judge Vince Chhabria, an Obama appointee at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, found the controversial teacher’s argument to be “entirely frivolous” and declined to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over her state law claims. A written order will follow, representing a huge victory for the public’s right to information about government and the taxpayer-funded officials that operate it.
In her lawsuit to keep the district from furnishing the records, Felarca alleges that Judicial Watch is misusing the law for political means and the district should refuse to provide the information.

Kanye's Not Alone: Blacks Are Deserting the Democrats
In the midst of the Kavanaugh madness, a fascinating development passed relatively under the radar Thursday.
Today’s @realDonaldTrump approval ratings among black voters: 35%.
This day last year: 23% http://bit.ly/preztrack @POTUS @realDonaldTrump
11:00 AM - Oct 4, 2018
No matter how you feel about polls, twelve points in one year is significant. This is especially true (and surprising) considering the constant drum beat from the press that Trump is a racist somewhere south of George Wallace.
Somebody isn't buying it -- and it's not just Kanye West. If this number grows just a little bit, the Democratic Party is in deep trouble. The party relies for its electoral power on overwhelming support from African-Americans, a dependency in itself inherently racist and suffused with reactionary identity politics. Without the black vote, the Dems might as well rename themselves the Celluloid Party and run Hollywood agents for mayor of Malibu. It'll be their best chance for success.

SU sophomore survives reported assault
Salisbury University Police are still searching for two suspects involved in an east campus assault Friday.
Sophomore Steven Cook said he was enjoying the start of the weekend when things took an unexpected turn, resulting in a bloody trip to the hospital and nine stitches.
Authorities responded to a call after a witness reported a fight broke out, which caused the subject to be taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center on Sept. 29 at approximately 1:30 a.m.
The two suspects were described by witnesses as African-American men, approximately 19-22 years old. One had long dreadlocks and the other suspect had a buzz cut.
The suspects were driving a four-door, dark sedan when they fled the scene.
The suspects are still at large.
Cook said his weekend kicked off with a party at his University Park apartment. When the sophomore noticed a security guard parked outside his apartment, he went to check it out.
Once Cook approached the vehicle, he said he noticed the guard was speaking with a female student crying. Cook said he offered to help.
“I told him I got her and I’ll get her back safety,” Cook said.

Joe Biden: Trump Supporters Have 'Cultish Devotion'
Former Vice President Joe Biden told Democrats at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday that supporters of President Donald Trump have a “cultish devotion” to their leader, choosing “party over country” in supporting Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The Los Angeles Times reported:
“The truth itself is being thrown aside in favor of a cultish devotion to the whims of one man,” Biden told hundreds of campaign volunteers Thursday at a Cal State Fullerton rally, citing the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“Look at the behavior of Republican senators during the recent testimony of Judge Kavanaugh. Look at the behavior of this president every day,” he said. “Lies have never been more brazen. Blind rage and brute partisanship has never been more palpable.
Biden, who is still considered a dark horse candidate for president in 2020 despite repeated denials, visited California this week to fundraise for Democrats and to campaign for the party’s congressional candidates. The Associated Press reportedthat candidates from five competitive districts attended the rally. Biden also reportedly told attendees that the upcoming midterm elections were “much bigger than politics … Our humanity is being tested.”

Grassley Makes Third Request for Ford's Therapy Notes, Polygraph Info, and More
The attorneys for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford are refusing to cooperate with repeated requests from the Senate Judiciary Committee to turn over documents Ford referenced in her recent testimony.
Ford's attorneys say they will turn over those materials only to the FBI, an assertion that Grassley rejected.
In a letter to Ford's attorneys dated Thursday, Grassley wrote:
"I urge you once again, now for the third time in writing, to turn over the therapy notes, polygraph materials, and communications with The Washington Post that Dr. Ford has relied upon as evidence."
Grassley noted that the FBI, even if it received those materials, would simply give the evidence to the Senate anyway.

Newest Members Of Maryland State Police K-9 Unit Named In Honor Of Fallen Troopers
The Maryland State Police Special Operations Division K-9 Unit graduated five new dual purpose K-9 teams at a ceremony this morning in Carroll County.
The ceremony took place at the Maryland State Police Academy in Sykesville, Md. After 26 weeks of intense training, these unique animals are ready to help keep Maryland safe as they will serve as dual purpose K-9 teams that will be utilized for drug detection and patrol/utility work.
The class is made up of two current handlers, two new handlers from Maryland State Police and one patrol officer from the Easton Police Department. Of these five teams, three of the newly certified K-9s have each been named in honor of one of the Maryland State Police’s 43 fallen heroes.
K-9 Plank, a German shepherd, is paired with Cpl. Dana Orndorff and was named in honor of Trooper First Class Edward Plank. TFC Plank, 28, was killed on Oct. 17, 1995 when he was shot by a suspect after conducting a traffic stop on U.S. Route 13 in Princess Anne, Maryland. K-9 Plank and Cpl. Orndorff will be assigned to the Berlin Barrack.
K-9 Hunter, a Belgian malinois, is paired with Trooper First Class Shawn Brown and is named in honor of TFC Shaft Hunter. TFC Hunter, 39, who was also a member of the K-9 Unit, was killed on May 21, 2011 when his patrol car collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of I-95 in Howard County at approximately 2:40 a.m. It is believed that he was pursuing a speeding motorcycle when the collision occurred. K-9 Hunter and TFC Brown will be assigned to the Westminster Barrack.
K-9 Wade, a German shepherd, is paired with Trooper First Class Kyle Morrison and is named in honor of Trooper Gary Wade. While taking enforcement action for a traffic violation on Jan. 30, 1982, Trooper Wade, 25, was struck and killed by a motorist who ran off the roadway striking the police vehicle, the violator’s vehicle, the trooper and the violator. The incident occurred on the JFK Memorial Highway just outside of Havre de Grace, Md. K-9 Wade and TFC Morrison are assigned to the North East Barrack, the same barrack where Trooper Wade served.
The other graduates include K-9 Drake, a German shepherd, and Master Trooper James Layton, who are assigned to the Cumberland Barrack. K-9 Kato is heading to the Easton Police Department with PFC Stephen Tindall.
The Maryland State Police K-9 unit has been in operation for over nearly 60 years. Since 1961, K-9’s have assisted law enforcement in drug detection, search and rescue missions, explosive detections and with criminal apprehensions. The unit currently includes 33 troopers and 41 K-9s.
