Trump's Support Nears 50% Among Republicans As Countdown To Convention Continues

Donald Trump has long taunted the media - and specifically Fox’s “crazy Megyn” Kelly - for failing to understand “math.”

The problem, Trump says, is that it isn’t fair to criticize him for not polling higher than 50% when the GOP field is so crowded. In fact, the billionaire has said, it’s a small miracle he’s been able to garner the amount of support he has over the past nine months given that at one point, there were 17 Republican candidates. Implicit in that argument is the contention that once the field narrows, Trump will command an even larger lead in the polls.

As we head into the Wisconsin primary on April 5, it would appear that Trump was indeed correct. The latest NBC/SurveyMonkey weekly tracking poll shows Trump nearing the 50% threshold as the preferred candidate among registered Republicans nationwide.

Ex-ambassador: Obama 'Fabricated' Diplomatic Crises with Israel

Last year, Kulanu MK and former Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren received heavy criticism in some circles for his book Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide.

With the release of the book’s Hebrew edition, Oren spoke to Arutz Sheva, discussing in depth the tensions between Israel and the Obama administration and the push back he received for the English edition.

The book, which created controversy for what some considered an unfair portrayal of President Barack Obama, elicited rare public condemnations from senior officials, including former US special envoy to the Middle Easy Martin Indyk.

“When I wrote [the English edition], Martin Indyk attacked me,” Oren told Arutz Sheva.

“People got angry at me. I can say that Obama did this because he thought that if these policies were adopted, then the Arabs would come to the table. But the results were the exact opposite – it actually pushed the Arabs further away. That’s because in the Middle East if someone gets concessions without paying a price, then why pay for it afterwards? [After] all of the concessions the Arabs got right from the start from Obama they spit at him in the face.”

“Only now, after interviews with former senior American officials like Dennis Ross, and after interviews with Obama, it’s become clear that what I wrote was correct."

Oren goes so far as to claim that Obama and his administration intentionally worked to create distance between the historic allies.

“Obama chose to create the crises [between Israel and the US],” said Oren.

“There were differences of opinion with America, as there have been for years. The disagreement regarding Jerusalem has been around since 1948, the disagreement over the settlements since 1967. The thing is he chose to deal with these disagreements publicly. He chose to put diplomatic distance between the US and Israel.”

Let Today’s Spending Habits Foretell Your Retirement-Spending Needs

A difficult task people face when planning for retirement is trying to gauge whether their spending will go up or go down.

No single answer fits everyone. But it’s prudent to plan on spending at least the same amount the month after retirement as you spent the month before, says Ken Sutherland, president of LifePlan Group (www.lifeplangroup.com), an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm.

“I always ask clients to figure out how much they need to pay the bills and enjoy life prior to retirement,” he says. “That’s what they should figure they’ll need.”

Although a big worry is that monthly spending could go up, some factors can actually cause expenses to drop, says Sutherland’s son, Alex, a wealth advisor for LifePlan Group.

“Tax obligations may be less,” he says. “Also, retirees are no longer contributing to a 401k plan or to Social Security taxes, and their mortgage may be paid off.”

The Sutherlands say that when mapping out retirement spending:

• Expect to spend more earlier. Most people are healthier and more energetic in the first decade of retirement, so they may want to budget more for that period. As they get older, expenses may decrease because they are less active. One possible exception is medical expenses.
• Don’t assume a surviving spouse will need less. “For every widow I have worked with who spent less, there were others who spent more,” Ken Sutherland says. “Some of that is because they need to hire help for chores around the house. But they also may do more traveling and more dining out.” Make budget plans with that in mind.
• Use a modest inflation assumption. “Inflation has been high in the past and could be again,” Alex Sutherland says, “but in the near term inflation doesn’t impact you as much, and in the long term you likely won’t spend as much.” If you use a 5 or 6 percent assumption, which is much higher than today’s inflation-rate reality, you’ll conclude you need more money than you likely do. A 2 or 3 percent assumption would provide a more realistic scenario.

Subject: Israel Recruiting New Nuclear Scientists for 'National Needs'

Govt. offers scholarships for promising grad students. Bennett: 'They will help developments in numerous fields that are better left unsaid.'

The Council for Higher Education is starting a new program to recruit seven new nuclear scientists.

According to documents obtained by Walla! news, the project is designed to "rehabilitate the nuclear physics research and instruction for the national need."

A budget of seven million shekels ($1.8 million US) has been set aside to find the candidates, who will be chosen from outstanding physics graduate students. Those selected will receive generous scholarships and will become university faculty members within three years. According to the Council, two will be picked next year, followed by another two in 2018 and the final three in 2019.

An inside source explained to Walla! that Israel is falling behind in the field of nuclear engineering. "Israeli nuclear research needs to bring people into this field."

He added that the scientists will be affiliated with universities, but that their work could also involve national security issues. "These people are performing research, but part of their experiments will be with the nuclear reactor in Dimona."

CIA Fighting the Pentagon in Syria

The fractured situation in Syria is looking even more bleak as forces allied with different parts of the US defense establishment are fighting against each other.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is supported by the Pentagon, has been clashing with the CIA-backed Arab Fursan al-Haq militia near Aleppo.

"Any faction that attacks us, regardless from where it gets its support, we will fight it," said one of Fursan al-Haq's leaders.

SDF and Fursan al-Haq are only two of the dozens of groups that are fighting against dictator Bashar al-Assad and ISIS, yet cannot come to power-sharing arrangements among themselves.

The US and other Western countries see Assad and ISIS as the primary threats in Syria and have been arming rebel groups with little inter-departmental coordination over the groups' other aims.

Why Do Voters Say Hillary Clinton Is Untrustworthy?

Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy.

That’s the belief of many, many Americans – and in this case, let’s exclude the right-wing orthodoxy, who have hated Hillary since she first said she’d rather not stay home baking chocolate-chip cookies in 1992.

Forty percent of Democratic primary voters, according to March CBS/New York Times poll, believe that Mrs. Clinton is politically calculating; somone they don’t trust with the presidency. She’s been asked about it in debates and on the stump, and there’s awhole genre of literature devoted to her “fabrications.”

But even journalists like Jill Abramson, who has covered Clinton for decades as the the New York Times’ Washington bureau chief, managing editor and executive editor, have defended Clinton against mostly-baseless accusations that she is “dishonest.”

23 PERCENT OF AMERICANS IN THEIR PRIME WORKING YEARS ARE UNEMPLOYED

What are we to make of all this?

Did you know that when you take the number of working age Americans that are officially unemployed (8.2 million) and add that number to the number of working age Americans that are considered to be “not in the labor force” (94.3 million), that gives us a grand total of 102.5 millionworking age Americans that do not have a job right now? I have written about this before, but today I want to focus just on Americans that are in their prime working years. When you look at only Americans that are from age 25 to age 54, 23.2 percent of them are unemployed right now. The following analysis and chart come from the Weekly Standard

BLACK LIVES MATTER: NEW KLAN WITH A TAN

Subject: 'Extraordinary' Success With Treatment Using Immune Cells to Target Cancer

Early trials of a potential cancer treatment in which white blood cells are modified to target certain types of the disease have been an "extraordinary" success, scientists said Monday.

In one study, 94 percent of participants suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) said their symptoms vanished completely after they were treated with the modified blood cells, known as T-cells.

In another study, 80 percent of patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma responded positively to the treatment, while more than half ended up symptom-free.

"This is extraordinary," said lead researcher Professor Stanley Riddell from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. "This is unprecedented in medicine to be honest, to get response rates in this range in these very advanced patients."

The treatment involves removing the T-cells from patients, tagging them with "receptor" molecules that target cancer, and putting them back into the body in an infusion. The targeting molecules, known as chimeric antigen receptors or Cars, came from specially bred genetically engineered mice.

Once attached to the T-cells, they reduce the ability of the cancer to shield itself from the body's natural immune system.

Such reprogramming of the immune system is often considered a last-ditch option due to its dangerous side effects.

Students Claim Pro-Trump White Board Message Is ‘Violence’

Chaos erupted at an all-female university in California over the weekend after a Mexican-American student woke on Saturday to a pro-Trump message written on her white board.

The message, which simply read “#Trump2016,” has been called an act of “intentional violence” in a university-wide email sent by Minjoo Kim, the student body president at Scripps College in Claremont, California.

SMH. @ScrippsCollege, are you trying to be the next Emory?! pic.twitter.com/bPObz6BOOs

— Hannah Oh (@hannahoh16) March 26, 2016

“This morning, a Mexican-American Scripps student woke up to find her whiteboard vandalized with the phrase ‘#Trump2016.’ This racist act is completely unacceptable,” Kim wrote. “Regardless of your political party, this intentional violence committed directly to a student of color proves to be another testament that racism continues to be an undeniable problem and alarming threat on our campuses.”

Kim claimed that the pro-Trump message violates Scripps’ goal of creating an “inclusive, safe, and welcoming community.” She recommended her peers seek out university counseling services if the 10 character message threatens their “mental and emotional health.”

Cruz Pens Letter Accusing Federal Government of Covertly Funneling Refugees

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made time in the midst of an intense presidential campaign to issue a letter taking two high ranking government officials to task over the burdensome and high-cost refugee resettlement program.

“The United States resettles more refugees each year than any other nation. Since 2011, more than 330,000 refugees have arrived in the United States,” begins the March 24 Cruz letter addressed to Assistant Secretary of State Anne Richard and Office of Refugee Resettlement Director Robert Carey.

“A recent study of Middle Eastern refugees, for instance, found that, on average, each refugee cost taxpayers an estimated $64,370—or $257,481 per household—in the first five years.” The Cruz letter summarizes the makeup of these costs while pointing out the “welfare costs. It is estimated that 91% of Middle Eastern refugees receive food stamps, and 68% receive cash assistance.”

The letter moves on, speaking of those communities in which refugees are most frequently resettled and the disproportionate costs to those communities.

Cops: Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Raping, Impregnating 12-Year-Old

An illegal immigrant has been arrested and charged with raping and impregnating a 12-year-old Texas girl, authorities say.

Prosecutors charged that in 2015 an illegal immigrant, Jose Alejandro Najarro, tried to convince his 12-year-old victim to have sex with him, but she refused. Refusing to take “no” for an answer, the suspect allegedly raped her at his home in Kyle, Texas.

Several months later, the girl was found to be pregnant and an investigation into her predicament was begun at that time. The girl told authorities she only had sex one time and that was with the suspect.

Report: Islamic State Planning ‘Imminent’ Attack on Jewish Children in Turkey

JERUSALEM – Information obtained by intelligence officials and cited by Sky News indicates Islamic State terrorists are in the advanced stages of an active plot to murder Jewish children in Turkey, including with attacks on kindergartens, schools and youth centres.

Sky News further reported:

Information on what intelligence officials are describing as “an imminent” attack was obtained from six operatives from the “Caliphate” who were arrested in the southern city of Gaziantep over the last week.

The most likely target of an attack is Istanbul’s synagogue in Beyoglu which also has a community centre and a school attached to it.

One intelligence source told Sky News that “in light of these circumstances, extraordinary security measures are being taken above and beyond the high alert level already in place by the Turkish police, as well as vigilance within the Jewish community.”

“Undercover and other covert counter-terror measures are being implemented around the clock,” the source said.

The source described the information as “a more than credible threat. This is an active plot.”

The report comes on the same day Israel urged its citizens in Turkey to evacuate the country “as soon as possible.”

Former Clinton Mistress Speaks Out – Things Are About to Get MESSY

I had heard this before, so it does not come as a surprise to me. A former lover of Bill Clinton’s said he used cocaine back in 1983 while he was governor of Arkansas. “I just realized this is the table. It’s funny just sitting here — all my furniture I’ve collected through the years, but this is the couch he sat on, and that’s the table,” said Miller, who once referred to Clinton as “a real pro” for the equipment he brought to her house when he wanted to use drugs. Wow, what a winner we picked as president, huh? Twice. “When he did coke, he brought a little — like a woman’s cosmetic case, that’s the only thing I can describe. And he put it down here, pushed everything aside. And he rolled it out and there was this little mat and he sprinkled this white powder,” she said. “He took a few big snorts and he felt better, I guess, because he had a big smile on his face,” she said. I’ll bet he did. Bill loved drugs and women… and of course ‘no’ was not in his vocabulary.

From Western Journalism:

The former president who once told America he “didn’t inhale,” was a cocaine user back in 1983, according to a woman who spoke openly about her affair with Clinton while he was governor of Arkansas.

“We laughed a lot and we had fun,” Sally Miller said recently. “Of course, he didn’t need it, but I think it may have become a habit that he smoked marijuana and that he did coke.”

While being interviewed by Kyle Olsen of The American Mirror, Miller — who was the Miss Arkansas of 1958 and for years has openly discussed her fling with Clinton — rapped on a coffee table near where she was sitting.

State Dept. Hesitates to Confirm Terrorists Who Claimed to Target Christians Targeted Christians

State Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Monday that he did not have “the fidelity of information to confirm overtly” that the massive suicide bombing in Lahore, Pakistan on Sunday was specifically targeting Christians celebrating Easter.

Ahsanullah Ahsan, a spokesman for Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, the breakaway Taliban faction claiming responsibility for the attacks, told the Associated Press on Sunday that the suicide bomber “deliberately targeted the Christian community celebrating Easter.” He also said the attack was meant to protest Pakistan's military operation in the tribal regions.

At the State Department, referencing the condemnatory statement made by the Department but which contained no reference of the targeting of Christians, AP reporter Matt Lee asked, “There’s been some commentary about why you guys didn’t mention either the Easter connection or the Christian connection in your condemnatory statements over the weekend and again today. Do you believe the claim of responsibility that Christians were targeted and are targets?”

While Everyone Was Focused on Trump, Here’s the ‘Gift’ Obama Gave Illegal Aliens

While it’s true that illegal aliens can’t get Obamacare, they’re STILL getting taxpayer funded health care in many states. In other words, instead of helping Americans, tax dollars are being spent to pay the medical bills of people who aren’t even supposed to be in this country. First of all, as the Wall Street Journal notes,

When federal lawmakers wrote the act overhauling the nation’s health-care system six years ago, they ruled out any possibility of extending health insurance to illegal immigrants.

Local officials where many of those immigrants live are treating them anyway.

A Wall Street Journal survey of the 25 U.S. counties with the largest unauthorized immigrant populations found that 20 of them have programs that pay for the low-income uninsured to have doctor visits, shots, prescription drugs, lab tests and surgeries at local providers. The services usually are inexpensive or free to participants, who must prove they live in the county but are told their immigration status doesn’t matter.

Because Obama is adding to the Federal debt instead of state debt, liberals have been freed up to spend more on taking care of illegal aliens. Chris Conover explains how it works at Forbes.

Obama Preparing to Placate Iran. Again

A new report in The Washington Free Beacon suggests that pretty soon we could be adding another broken promise to the Obama legacy: "Leading foreign policy voices in Congress say they are preparing to fight against an Obama administration effort to provide Iran unprecedented access to U.S. financial resources as part of an expanded package meant to address new demands from the Islamic Republic's for greater economic concessions. ... The Obama administration is currently exploring new options to grant Iran more sanctions relief than promised under the comprehensive nuclear agreement reached last year, just days after Iran's Supreme Leader gave a speech accusing the United States of interfering with Iranian banking."

As Mark Dubowitz and Jonathan Schanzer note in The Wall Street Journal, "[T]he Obama administration vowed that the Islamic Republic would never get the ultimate prize: access to the U.S. financial system or dollar transactions. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew was adamant during a congressional grilling last July. 'Iranian banks will not be able to clear U.S. dollars through New York,' he told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, or 'hold correspondent account relationships with U.S. financial institutions, or enter into financing arrangements with U.S. banks.' Yet as Rep. Ed Royce (R., Calif.) noted in a March 22 letter to the White House, Mr. Lew, during a Financial Services Committee hearing earlier that day, 'appeared to leave the door open' to Iran getting access to the U.S. financial system."

Pay Attention, Christians. They’re Coming After The Churches Now

It may be a matter of some interest to you that the American left is now openly declaring its intention to shutdown your church and outlaw your religious expression entirely. If you’ve been paying attention, you won’t be terribly shocked by this revelation. They plan to come after the churches. That’s what they’ve always wanted, and now they intend to do it.

The hysterical reaction to Georgia’s religious liberty bill can be interpreted no other way. Gov. Nathan Deal has now decided — just one day after Easter, no less — to veto the bill because the outrage was so severe, and because he has the resiliency and backbone of a dead slug melting in the sun. In his statement explaining his decision, Deal insisted that religious liberty doesn’t include the right to “discriminate against anyone.” He took a steadfast and courageous posture, declaring that he refuses to be intimidated by “insults and threats” from pastors, nuns, and his local baptist church. On the other hand, for gay groups and large progressive corporations, he will fall to his knees in trembling submission and polish their boots after they finish kicking him repeatedly in the ribs.

The Questions Liberals Never Have to Answer

Liberals do a poor job of defending their beliefs with facts, logic or debate, but they have become unparalleled masters at keeping their opponents’ side of the argument from being presented at all.

We have kids who are never exposed to conservatism in high school who go to college where the professors are liberal; then they graduate and get their information from their local paper and all TV outlets except for Fox which are liberal, and they watch ostensibly non-political Hollywood-produced liberal movies and TV shows that reinforce left-wing viewpoints.

As if that isn’t enough, liberals go to great lengths to convince people that their opponents are so cruel, evil, racist and despicable that their arguments are tainted by default and shouldn’t be considered at all. The few conservative speakers at colleges are often met with protests meant to block their speech while conservative students, groups and professors face open discrimination. Taking a non-liberal position can cost an actor his career, a professor his tenure and a scientist his grants. On top of all that, they’ve attempted to simply make topics that are uncomfortable for liberals “out of bounds” via political correctness.

Noam Chomsky once wrote a famous, but perfectly ridiculous book called “Manufacturing Consent.” If you REALLY want to see what “Manufacturing Consent” looks like, look at what the Left has done in America.

You don’t think that’s true? Then why don’t you regularly see liberals being forced to grapple with questions like this as often as conservatives are expected to discuss largely irrelevant topics like the Confederate flag, evolution and the non-existent “war on women?”

Once again, you can read it all here.

Machete Robber Captured in Hold Up Try

A North East woman and her accomplice are in the custody on robbery charges after being caught by Maryland State Troopers in the midst of holding up a convenience store in the Bayview community of Cecil County.

Sarah Beth Clendaniel, 28, of the 400 block of Champlain Road, was taken into custody as she tried to rob the High’s Dairy Store, located at 3155 Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway near North East, Maryland at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday. Clendaniel, who faces armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault and attempted theft charges, was apprehended by Criminal Enforcement Division-Northern Region investigators after she walked into the store, threatened two clerks with a machete and demanded they open the register.

Allen Lynn White, 59, also of the 400 block of Champlain Road, was apprehended by a criminal investigator assigned to the JFK Memorial Highway Barrack as he waited for Clendaniel to return from the store. White was found sitting in a running 1998 GMC truck tucked in dead-end lane in a secluded residential area about 100 yards north of the store. Senator Ted Cruz’s Dad Tells NPR that He Bribed His Way Into the United States

To quote the great Ricky Ricardo, “You got a lot of explainin’ to do.” Such is the case of Texas Senator Ted Cruz and his dad Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, who were featured today on NPR. The younger Cruz, born in Canada and now one of Congress’ stauchest critics of the current immigration reform bill being debated, has always said that he was a champion of legal immigration. Guess he never got the memo about who his dad left Cuba because last time we checked, bribing a government official is an illegal act.

Here is what the NPR segment said:

The views of that freshman senator — Texas Republican Ted Cruz — have been significantly colored by the saga of his own father, an immigrant from Cuba.

“In my opinion, if we allow those who are here illegally to be put on a path to citizenship, that is incredibly unfair to those who follow the rules,” Cruz has said.

And the example he frequently points to is his father, 74-year-old Rafael Bienvenido Cruz.

“I came to this country legally,” Cruz’s father says. “I came here with a legal visa, and … every step of the way, I have been here legally.”

How Obama is Trying to Dump Trump

The Obama administration is supporting several non-profit groups — with federal funding through a major White House initiative — that are part of an organized effort aimed at converting green-card holders into U.S. citizens in order to vote against Donald Trump, a Daily Caller investigation reveals.

Through an initiative called Networks for Integrating New Americans initiative, which the White House formed in April 2014, the administration has partnered with the National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA), an immigration rights umbrella organization that has denounced Trump’s “hateful rhetoric.”

In a recent post to its Facebook page, NPNA asserted that green-card holders “have the potential to change America’s electorate” by gaining citizenship. The group and its executive director is also affiliated with one of the leftist groups that helped shut down a Trump rally in Chicago earlier this month.

And through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Obama administration has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to groups that have cited Trump as one reason that green-card holders should obtain citizenship before the general election in November.

Reagan Warned Us About Obama

Brazil Has Nearly 60,000 Murders, And It May Relax Gun Laws

At the dilapidated morgue in the northern Brazilian city of Natal, Director Marcos Brandao walks over the blood-smeared floor to where the corpses are kept.

He points out the labels attached to the bright metal doors, counting out loud. It has not been a particularly bad night, yet there are nine shooting victims in cold storage.

Most were shot with guns that were not legally owned, he says.

Almost 60,000 people were murdered in Brazil in 2014, most with guns. While some Latin American countries have higher per capita murder rates, in absolute numbers, Brazil is the deadliest place in the world outside Syria.

Brazilians are far more likely to be shot to death than Americans, a more populous country where there are about 8,000 to 9,000 gun homicides each year.

Still, a group of Brazilian congressmen wants to make guns easier to obtain, modeling their proposal on U.S. legislation.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist and Harvard oncologist have a proposal to get highly effective but prohibitively expensive drugs into consumers' hands: health care installment loans.

In the journal Science Translational Medicine, the academics liken drug loans to mortgages, noting that both can enable consumers to buy big-ticket items requiring ahefty upfront payment that they couldn't otherwise afford.

Some consumer advocates and health insurance experts see it completely differently.

"Isn't this why we have health insurance?" asked Mark Rukavina, a Boston-based health care consultant whose work has focused on affordability and medical debt. "Insurance used to protect people from financial ruin for these unpredictable, costly occurrences. Now, with large deductibles, we've got coverage for preventive care but not for treatment."

Living From Rent To Rent: Tenants On The Edge Of Eviction

Every morning for weeks, Meagen Limes made the same phone call: to a court in Washington, D.C., to see if that day was the day she'd be evicted from her home.

Limes faced eviction because she couldn't pay rent on her three-bedroom apartment in Southeast Washington, where many of the city's poorest residents live.

It can sometimes take weeks before the marshals actually show up at your door, and Limes fully expected to be homeless any day.

"And it's like really scary," the 28-year-old said. "I try so hard not to cry. Like, I would be like, 'Oh my God, if they come today, what am I gonna do?' "

I first met Limes outside the courtroom of the Landlord and Tenant Branch of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, where tenants go when they've been sued by their landlords for not paying rent.

That day, a judge ordered a writ of restitution — directions for the marshals to begin eviction proceedings.

New developments coming to Berlin downtown, outskirts

Business is booming in Berlin, as is evidenced by an unusually large number of developments currently coming together, including several new shops, restaurants, apartment complexes and other expansions, both downtown and on the outskirts of town.

During a public meeting on March 14 at Town Hall, the mayor and council approved a rezoning request that would allow a new mixed-use building with retail space and apartments on 15 Gay Street.

Patrick Vorsteg, who purchased that property, said he plans to develop it into a building similar to other brick storefronts on Main Street in the downtown area.

ObamaCare may force employers to pull plug on millions of health plans, CBO finds

In the latest report to undercut President Obama's "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it" promise, the Congressional Budget Office projects millions of workers will leave employer-sponsored health plans over the next decade because of ObamaCare.

Some will opt to go on Medicaid, but others will be kicked off their company plans by employers who decide not to offer coverage anymore, according to a new CBO report titled, "Federal Subsidies for Health Insurance Coverage for People Under Age 65: 2016 to 2026."

"As a result of the ACA, between 4 million and 9 million fewer people are projected to have employment-based coverage each year from 2017 through 2026 than would have had such coverage if the ACA had never been enacted,” the report, released Thursday, said.

With Hillary Clinton's Email Lies Unravelling, 147 FBI Agents Are On Her Heels

Earlier this month, conservative legal advocacy group Judicial Watch released a series of documentsobtained via an FOIA request which appear to prove that Hillary Clinton knew her BlackBerry wasn’t secure when she and her staff moved into Mahogany Row (the nickname given to the set of offices reserved for senior officials in the Department of State).

E-mail exchanges between Senior Coordinator for Security Infrastructure Donald Reid and the NSA showClinton was intent on obtaining a secure BlackBerry that she could use in restricted areas.

Although Clinton would of course be given a desktop computer on which she could safely conduct state business, Reid said the Secretary had become “addicted” to her BlackBerry during her ill-fated 2008 Presidential campaign. “The issue here is one of personal comfort,” an e-mail from Reid reads. “S [Secretary Clinton] does not use a personal computer so our view of someone wedded to their email (why doesn’t she use her desktop when in SCIF?) doesn’t fit this scenario … during the campaign she was urged to keep in contact with thousands via a BB … once she got the hang of it she was hooked … now everyday [sic], she feels hamstrung because she has to lock her BB up.”

States' rights advocates eye convention to bypass Congress, amend Constitution

ATLANTA – What if a supermajority of states could override a federal law or Supreme Court ruling?

That’s just one idea being proposed by advocates of a “convention of states” to amend the U.S. Constitution.

"The American people are mad and they’re looking for a way to say, ‘No more,’” said Brooke Rollins, president and CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a conservative think tank. “Our founders, in their brilliance, gave us a tool to do that. And it’s Article V.”

Article V of the Constitution allows a minimum of two-thirds of the states to call for a convention to propose amendments, in turn going around Congress.

Governor Larry Hogan Joins Vice President Biden Introducing New Johns Hopkins’ Cancer Institute

Focuses on Immunotherapy, a New and Promising Approach to Cancer Treatment

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Governor Larry Hogan today delivered remarks and helped to publicly introduce the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg/Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at Johns Hopkins medical campus in East Baltimore. He was joined by Vice President Joseph Biden, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Johns Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels, Johns Hopkins Medicine Dean and CEO Dr. Paul Rothman, and many other donors, staff, patients, and students.

"Over the course of my own cancer treatment, I met so many amazing fellow patients and families fighting tougher battles than my own," said Governor Hogan. "It's because of them that I will continue to stand with all those who are fighting this terrible disease - and that includes proudly supporting Johns Hopkins and the important, life saving work that will be done at the Bloomberg/Kimmel Institute."

The Bloomberg/Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy will further strengthen Johns Hopkins’ program in cancer immunology, uniting more than 100 scientists and clinicians to study immunotherapy – a new approach to cancer treatment. Immunotherapy redirects each patients’ immune system to target and destroy cancer cells, and is one of the most rapidly advancing and promising methods of cancer research today.

In June, 2015, Governor Hogan was diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Since then, he has participated in numerous cancer outreach events, including starting HoganStrong, to raise awareness and resources to help support all those who are fighting cancer. In November, 2015, the governor announced that he was 100% cancer-free and in remission.

Last Year, Did Rachel Maddow Stumble Across a Key Piece of Evidence of Hush Money Paid in the #CruzSexScandal?

There is speculation that a Ted Cruz related SuperPAC may have paid hush money last year to the Carly Fiorina campaign to keep it from disclosing a Cruz sex scandal.

The speculation is the result of a just released National Enquirer story on alleged multiple sexual trysts of Ted Cruz outside his marriage.

Although National Enquirer blurred the pictures of the women allegedly involved, internet sleuths have been at work attempting to identify them. One name emerging is Amanda Carpenter, though, she has denied any sexual involvement with Cruz.

However, a curious payment of $500,000 was made to the Fiorina campaign by a Cruz SuperPAC. There is now speculation that it may have been hush money to keep the Fiorina campaign from blowing open the Cruz sex scandal since Carpenter was employed at the Fiorina campaign at the time of the payment.

SECRET SERVICE SOURCE: BREITBART REPORTER TOUCHED TRUMP

'She crossed in between agents and our protectee after being told not to'

Donald Trump claims a former Breitbart reporter made unwanted physical contact with him before his campaign manager allegedly grabbed the reporter’s arm – and a member of Trump’s Secret Service detail is backing up the GOP front-runner’s story.

After claiming former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields touched him, Trump asked Tuesday, “Can I press charges?”

As WND reported, Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, 41, is accused of accosting Fields at the March 8 rally after she purportedly touched Trump’s arm. Lewandowski was formally charged with misdemeanor battery Tuesday. Fields filed a police report three days after the incident in Jupiter, Florida, and claimed the encounter left bruises on her arm.

Lewandowski turned himself in to Jupiter, Florida, police early in the morning.

According to a report in London’s Daily Mail, a member of Trump’s Secret Service detail, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Fields touched Trump two times, and she was ordered by agents to stop before Lewandowski pulled her away.

A Viewer Writes: Cruz Town Hall

Did I just hear Ted Cruz tell a story on his mom that she refused to learn how to type so she wouldn’t have to work as a typist for a man, but offered her “computer programming” abilities instead?

Chelsea Clinton Is Pretty Good on Some of the Problems with Free College Education

It probably is the result of the current political climate and the best positioning for Hillary versus Bernie Sanders, but when a question came up about Bernie Sanders political strength, she replied (via WaPo) with a decent utilitarian stance (Of course, not on principle):

I asked Chelsea after the event why her mom is struggling so much on college campuses. She blamed Bernie’s promise of free college tuition and then spent two minutes explaining why the idea is unrealistic. “At the events I’ve had near college campuses … one of the things I’ve heard really resonates with voters is his now quite-famous pledge to give free college tuition to anyone at a public university or a community college,” she said. “Yet when people really look at how he’d do that, it’s partly through a Wall Street speculation tax. But it’s largely through expecting states to come up with hundreds of billions of dollars on day one. The bill for Wisconsin alone would be $11 billion to fund that pledge.”

New litter of puppies named after fallen officers

SALISBURY, Md. (ABC7) — A new litter of puppies is honoring fallen officers and helping their names live on.

Tracey McMenamy is more than a dog lover. She is a foster parent for a rescue organization, and the wife of a police officer.

Her husband has been serving for 12 years.

McMenamy says the dogs give her comfort. Her husband's profession is a source of pride, but also fear, especially this year as 16 cops have been killed in the line of duty nationwide.

"As a wife, it's scary for me that we've lost that many police officers," she says.

Hillary Clinton: There is 'no evidence' to suggest raising the minimum wage kills jobs

States moving to restore work requirements for food stamp recipients

States are moving to once again require able-bodied adults to put in work hours in exchange for food stamps, after the requirements largely were suspended by the Obama administration.

The slow-moving reversal follows the administration pulling back on Clinton-era changes that required recipients to work for government welfare benefits. Signing the reform bill in 1996 alongside then-Speaker Newt Gingrich, then-President Bill Clinton said the goal was to make welfare “a second chance, not a way of life.”

But during the last recession, President Obama allowed states to suspend a requirement that able-bodied adults without children work at least 20 hours per week or participate in a training program to receive benefits for more than three months.

He allowed recipients to stay on food stamps indefinitely, arguing the three-month maximum was unfair with unemployment at 10 percent.

Trump Is Right—–Dump NATO Now

By David Stockman

If you want to know why we have a $19 trillion national debt and a fiscal structure that will take that already staggering figure to $35 trillion and 140% of GDP within a decade, just consider the latest campaign fracas. That is, the shrieks of disbelief in response to Donald Trump’s sensible suggestion that the Europeans pay for their own defense.

The fact is, NATO has been an obsolete waste for 25 years. Yet the denizens of the Imperial City cannot even seem to grasp that the 4 million Red Army is no more; and that the Soviet Empire, which enslaved 410 million souls to its economic and military service, vanished from the pages of history in December 1991.

What is left is a pitiful remnant—–145 million aging, Vodka-besotted Russians who subsist in what is essentially a failing third world economy. Its larcenous oligarchy of Putin and friends appeared to live high on the hog and to spread a veneer of glitz around Moscow and St. Petersburg. But that was all based on the world’s one-time boom in oil, gas, nickel, aluminum, fertilizer, steel and other commodities and processed industrial materials.

Stated differently, the Russian economy is a glorified oil patch and mining town with a GDP the equivalent of the NYC metropolitan area. And that’s its devastating Achilles Heel.

FBI hack may raise questions about iPhone security

The FBI has told a court that it was able to access data stored on an iPhone 5c running iOS 9

The FBI hack of an iPhone 5c running iOS 9 may have left the device just a little bit insecure in the eyes of some users, as the agency has not provided details of how it was able to access data on the phone used by the San Bernardino terrorist.

On Monday, the FBI told the court that the government had successfully accessed the data stored on the iPhone used by Syed Rizwan Farook and no longer required the assistance it was demanding in court from Apple.

Supreme Court Lets Yale Keep $200M Van Gogh Stolen By Bolsheviks In 1918

Nearly 130 years after Vincent Van Gogh painted “The Night Café,” and nearly a century after Russia’s Bolshevik government took the painting as its own from the collection of a private citizen, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to not chime in on the $200 million painting’s rightful owner, meaning it will remain in a Yale University gallery, where it’s been since 1961.

California, Labor Groups Reach Tentative Deal To Raise Statewide Minimum Wage To $15/Hour

California is poised to become the first state to adopt a $15 an hour minimum wage. Over the weekend legislators in the state said they had reached a tentative agreement with labor unions that would see the state rollout the wage increase over the next six years.

A Switch To Shared Self-Driving Cars Means We’d Buy Fewer Cars, Wear Them Out Faster

Most Americans aren’t comfortable yet with the idea of riding in an autonomous car, but at one time, horseless carriages and electricity in our homes were scary, too. Technology companies and automakers are both working to make autonomous cars happen, but wouldn’t self-piloting cars mean that we would share vehicles or pay fares? That would dramatically shrink demand for cars, hurting automakers. Right?

Subject: Bureaucrats Strip Vets' Gun Rights

Congressional lawmakers want answers. Senators Charles Grassley and Johnny Isakson sent a letter to the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs asking why the agency reports any veteran who is assigned a fiduciary trustee to the FBI as mentally defective, thus stripping the veteran of their right to keep and bear arms.

So far, the VA has reported to the FBI 260,000 individuals — equivalent to a quarter of the number of people in Texas who have a license to carry.

While all federal agencies are required to report “mentally defective” individuals to the FBI so they can be noted in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the VA refers an astounding 99.3% of such cases. All other agencies account for just 0.7%. With ruthless “efficiency” like that coming from the same bureaucracy guilty of the wait-time scandal, does anyone suspect abuse of the system?

A bureaucracy with no due process is most certainly not the answer. Yet the gun-grabbing Obama administration wants to institute a similar policy as the VA within the Social Security Administration.
