Another Interesting Comment Worthy Of A Post

Here's whats next

Universal voter registration: Now being secretly prepared by at least two prominent members of Congress, this is essentially a scheme to legalize voter fraud by shifting responsibility for registering to vote from the citizen to the government, meaning people are automatically registered to vote, based on DMV records, income-tax returns, welfare rolls, unemployment lists and other government databases.

Illegal immigrant registration: Since government databases contain names of non-citizens, not to mention mentally incompetent individuals and felons – factors that would ordinarily disqualify a person from voting in most states – universal registration would open the floodgates to fraud. And since many people own property in more than one location and pay taxes to numerous government entities, they would be afforded the opportunity to vote in multiple locations.

Amnesty: Disguised once again by euphemisms like "comprehensive immigration reform," amnesty will create millions of new Democrat voters. As Obama adviser and SEIU executive vice president Eliseo Medina said recently regarding amnesty: "Can you imagine 8 million new voters who care about our issues and will be voting? We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle."

Convicted felons voting: The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals late last year cleared the way for inmates to vote from prison. The court overturned a Washington state law prohibiting felons from voting until they are released and off parole, arguing state restrictions unfairly penalized minorities since they have a higher incarceration rate. Polls show felons overwhelmingly prefer Democrats.

Planting operatives in America's statehouses: A subversive, Soros-backed group called the Secretary of State Project is gearing up to steal the 2012 election for Obama and congressional Democrats by installing left-wing Democrats as secretaries of state across the nation, from which posts they can help tilt the electoral playing field.

Health Care Bill Spurs Assassination Calls On Twitter

The Secret Service is investigating two Twitter users who, apparently angered by the passage of the health care reform bill, took to the Internet Sunday to call for the assassination of President Obama.

"ASSASSINATION! America, we survived the Assassinations and Lincoln & Kennedy. We'll surely get over a bullet to Barrack Obama's head," wrote one Twitter user, who goes by the handle Solly Forell, and identifies himself as a conservative blogger and "'authentic' African American."

Soon after the first post, Forell tweeted another message actively encouraging someone with a "clear shot" to kill the president.

Harris Calls Health Bill “Perilous,” Will Work To Repeal

ANNAPOLIS — State Senator Andy Harris, M.D. released the following statement regarding the health care legislation that was voted on by the U.S. House of Representatives last night:

"The Democrat controlled Congress has taken our country in a perilous direction. With last night's health care vote, a signal was sent to the American people that their voice does not matter and that the tax and spend, big government policies of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama trump the will of the people. If Nancy Pelosi was not elected Speaker of the House by the Democrats, than this so called reform would not have seen the light of day.

As a physician, I am troubled that our elected representatives would vote to turn back the clock on the health care advances we've made over the past 30 years. When elected, I will vote to repeal this legislation so that we can begin work on true health care reform."

Fernando Guerrero Coverage: 2 Years Ago

You've no doubt heard the old saying "what a difference a year makes". In this case we're about two years out from when this clip was shot by WBOC. The video documented the day tickets went on sale for the Tyrone Watson match, which was shown nationally by Showtime on their ShoBox series. The clip captures Fernando Guerrero's manager, and all around nice guy, Hal Chernoff on the eve of the biggest boxing match in Salisbury, Maryland history. He appears cautiously optimistic as he tells reporter Kevin Leahy, "there's two things have to happen" for Guerrero to fight in Salisbury after that match. The two conditions were Fernando Guerrero had to perform well and the area had to show up and support him. Boy, did both of those things happen! Since that initial Salisbury match Guerrero has fought seven times with three of those taking place right here in Salisbury. His next match will take place Friday, April 16th at the Wicomico Civic Center against Michael "Midnight Stalker" Walker.

Hope to see you there!

Obama To Sign Health Bill, Take It On The Road

McCain says "we're going to repeal this" as GOP plans next steps

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is preparing to sign a transformative health care bill ushering in near-universal medical coverage for the first time in the nation's history — and then hit the road to sell it to a reluctant public.

Obama will travel to Iowa City, Iowa on Thursday, the White House said, as he now turns to seeing a companion bill through the Senate and selling the health care overhaul's benefits on behalf of House members who cast risky votes.

Obama is expected to sign the bill Tuesday at the White House, spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday. A South Lawn ceremony is planned. Obama is inviting all lawmakers who supported the bill and other Americans whose stories represent the need for reformed health care, Gibbs said.

Jim Rutledge Responds To passage Of Government Controlled Health Care

FORREST Hill, Maryland- Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Jim Rutledge believes Americans received the heavy hand of government last night disguised as a helping hand. Barbara Mikulski and the Liberal Democrats continued their efforts to diminish the Constitution by establishing a government controlled health care system. In response to the passage of a national health care system Jim Rutledge said, “Americans are now committed to suffer the financial consequences of another arrogant decision made for the people not by the people.”

Congress failed to listen to the American people in an attempt to further a liberal agenda and create another Washington bureaucracy. The cost of national health care will ultimately lead to tax increases for all Americans. Some have already predicted that a national sales tax may be required to pay for government controlled health care. The Rutledge for Senate Campaign believes the privilege to receive government health care should not come at the expense of the Constitution. The act of taking money from one group or sector of society to give to another is not the action of a democracy. Barbara Mikulski and Barack Obama have worked together to force Marylanders to pay for a government controlled health care system.

The need to gain a political victory by the Liberal Democrats has come at a great cost to the American people at time when Americans are just trying to survive: Small businesses must now face the cost of another government mandate while trying to keep their doors open. The sanctity of life is now in question under the wording of this newly passed legislation. Families will now have to face tougher financial choices.

Jim Rutledge believes Barbara Mikulski should be held accountable for supporting more programs that increase the financial burden of Maryland taxpayers. The Rutledge for Senate Campaign will continue to fight for fiscal responsibility in Washington and working to defend the Constitution.

A "Moment In History:" Local Dems React To Health Care Passage

Most local Democrats disagree with the opposition about the effects of health care reform. In fact, they say the bill will close gaps that citizens pay for every day.

"It's exciting. I think people realize the moment in history and the opportunity," said Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.).

According to its own figures, the District pays $50 million a year for a program supplementing health care for people who don’t qualify for Medicaid, but can’t afford health care insurance. That cost will go away under this bill. Instead, the District's 134,000 uninsured families will receive tax credits to help them pay for insurance.

Congressman Kratovil Opposed Motion To Cancel Health Bill Vote

While Congressman Kratovil voted No on the Senate Health Care Bill and NO on Reconciliation, he flipped when he opposed the Motion to Recommit. However, if he was totally against the Senate bill, he would have supported the Motion to Recommit.

Sadly and expectedly Kratovil voted with 232 Democrats in voting No. The vote to Recommit: 199-232. That certain illustrates where Kratovil's support lies.

The Motion to Recommit would have negated the prior Health Care vote and sent this disasterous bill back for further study. Kratovil opposed this motion and voted the party line.

Reconciliation vote: 220-211

Deer Flies Into School Bus In Morning Crash

Location: Cokesbury Road, south of Route 404, Seaford, Delaware, Sussex County

Date and Time: Monday, March 22, 2010, at approximately 8:00 a.m.

Vehicle: International School Bus, owned by Macklin Bus Service, transporting for Sussex Tech High School, operated by a 76-year-old Seaford man

Resume: Shortly after 8:00 a.m. this morning, Troopers were called to the area of Cokesbury Road, just south of Route 404 for a bus vs. deer crash.

This investigation revealed the bus was traveling northbound on Cokesbury Road when a deer crossed its path from the west side of the roadway. The bus struck the deer at which time the animal was projected up and through the front windshield. The deer ended up approximately five seats back in the center isle where it died.

The bus was transporting eleven (11) students. Two students, both girls, were transported from the scene to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The nine (9) remaining students were released to their parents.

The driver, who did not wish his name released, was not injured.

Senior Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh said, "This was certainly a very dangerous and disturbing incident for anyone to have to watch, let alone school children. We are just very luckly no one was more seriousely hurt."

This Will Not Stand: Newt On The Passage Of Obamacare

This will not stand.

No one should be confused about the outcome of Sunday's vote

This is not the end of the fight it is the beginning of the fight.

The American people spoke decisively against a big government, high tax, Washington knows best, pro trial lawyer centralized bureaucratic health system.

In every recent poll the vast majority of Americans opposed this monstrosity

Speaker Pelosi knew the country was against the bill. That is why she kept her members trapped in Washington and forced a vote on Sunday.

She knew if she let the members go home their constituents would convince them to vote no.

The Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine combined the radicalism of Alinsky, the corruption of Springfield and the machine power politics of Chicago.

Sunday was a pressured, bought, intimidated vote worthy of Hugo Chavez but unworthy of the United States of America.

It is hard to imagine how much pressure they brought to bear on congressman Stupak to get him to accept a cynical, phony clearly illegal and unconstitutional executive order on abortion. The ruthlessness and inhumanity of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine was most clearly on display in their public humiliation of Stupak.

The real principles of the machine were articulated by Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings who was impeached and removed from the bench as a federal judge, before being elected to the House when he said ""There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something. . . .All this talk about rules. . . .When the deal goes down . . . we make 'em up as we go along."

It is hard for the American people to believe their leaders on the left are this bad.
They are.

The American people will not allow a corrupt machine to dictate their future.

Together we will pledge to repeal this bill and start over

Together we will prove that this will not stand

2010 and 2012 will be among the most important elections in American history

These elections will allow us to save America from a leftwing machine of unparalleled corruption arrogance and cynicism.

AFP-Maryland Praises Reps. Kratovil, Bartlett For Health Care Vote

-Bi-partisan opposition, public disgust not enough to stop Government take over-

ANNAPOLIS
– Americans for Prosperity-Maryland State Director Dave Schwartz issued the following statement after the U.S. House passed the health care takeover bill:

“Today we have seen a critical setback for freedom in our country. AFP-Maryland would like to recognize and thank Reps. Frank Kratovil and Roscoe Bartlett for their vote against this disastrous bill. We appreciate the stand the Congressmen took under tremendous pressure.

The fight over this health care takeover has been long and brutal. But something hopeful has emerged: millions of active, passionate Americans who are aware of the many threats to our freedoms and who are willing to fight.

To the rest of the Congressional delegation: This fight is not over. Today we lost in Congress, but we won with the American people. AFP-Maryland, and our nearly 10,000 activists around the state, will be working feverishly to educate citizens on your vote for a government takeover of our health care.”

WICO CHANGES ITS WEEKDAY MORNING PROGRAMMING ONCE AGAIN!

A year or two ago, WICO went to an early morning lineup that was mostly syndicated, with Michael Smerconish, a Philadelphia phenomenon, as the host. Today his program is gone from the AM station and a new syndicated program, mostly national news and topics, is the mainstay from breakfast to morning drive-time. Following the 9AM news its the lovely Laura Ingraham, as before.

The early morning segment with local discussion and guests has been shrunk even further, to about 12 minutes or so, not including ads. It seems that the local mainstream media has opted to mimic the big boys from across the Chesapeake Bay and C&D Canal. Local news and views are becoming increasingly hard to come by these days, what with the Daily Times almost deceased and the TV stations on the decline in local content – this blog tries to fill the huge gap.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post

On March 21, 2010 the House of Representatives voted to plunge our health care system into a quasi-socialist mess that will lead to universal, single-payer coverage within 15 years. It is a truism of economics that when something becomes free, it shall inevitably lose value. Our best hospitals will soon be flooded with millions of new Medicaid patients who will pay nothing for care, while the number of doctors will decrease because the profession will no longer be overly lucrative. Since many of these new patients don't work for a living, it will be quite easy for them to schedule doctor's appointments every time they have a sore throat or a hangnail. Sadly, our health system will go into steady decline just like our public school system did when the government raised trillions of dollars in new taxes and guaranteed free educations to that segment of our society that doesn't pay any taxes.

Like you, I am frustrated and saddened by this development. I'm counting the days until November when our voices will finally be heard. But in a larger sense, we have seen in the past that elections don't really matter all that much. The government is a self-perpetuating entity that will constantly vote itself more power, regardless of which party is in charge. As a case in point, look at Medicare Part D that George Bush gave us not so long ago.

One reason I am writing this memo (aside from the cathartic and therapeutic value) is to remind all of you that the free market will always win out in the end. The education system of America is clear proof of this fact and serves as a guidepost for where we must all go in the next 15 years. When the public schools became war zones where no one learns anything valuable, private and religious schools exploded in capacity to fill the void for the segment of society who had the extra money to pay tuition. The same thing is going to happen with our health care system. A parallel system will emerge because the best doctors in the world are NOT going to participate in a socialist system where Medicaid only pays them $8 to see an illegal immigrant with the sniffles. Rather, these talented doctors will set up private clinics where people with extra money in the bank can get the best care in the world quickly, not after an eight-month wait. The public hospitals will serve the citizens who have no money, and therefore will erode into a state of inefficiency and complacence. This always happens when a monopoly exists.

So where do we as productive and energetic citizens go from here? It is actually quite simple. We must do the same things that have always driven liberals absolutely nuts. Take ownership of your situation. Smile. Live well. Prosper. Build a stash of money. Do what you have to do to make enough cash so that if you get sick, you will have the disposable income necessary to pay the bill at a boutique hospital or clinic where the best doctors have set up shop. If you are not happy with your current income level, get an advanced degree so that you can move yourself to a much higher salary. Don't sit around expecting the government to help you or to do the right thing. We have seen in the past that they only care about the unproductive people in society. People like us are the forgotten fools who pay the bills, then get shafted in the end.

My message to you is that even though you currently feel helpless, you are still 100% in control of your destiny. You can only become a slave to the government if you allow yourself to become dependent and compliant. Voting in November and donating to Tea Party movements can be somewhat helpful, but ultimately they won't get you very far. I hope you will take positive steps to become the kind of well-off person who can easily opt out of the socialist health care system. Otherwise, you run the risk of dying on a waiting list like our friends in Canada and England so often do. Let the Obama voters enjoy that type of health care system. We will be elsewhere.

NOW GET TO WORK.

Abortion Deal Earns Ire Of Critics On Both Sides

Republican says leader of Dems’ anti-abortion bloc is a ‘baby killer’

WASHINGTON - A last-minute compromise that swung a half-dozen anti-abortion Democrats behind President Barack Obama's health care bill — virtually ensuring its passage — failed to placate outside activists on either side of the issue, and drew derision from Republicans.

Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., leader of the anti-abortion bloc, said he was satisfied with an executive order issued by Obama affirming prohibitions in current law and in the health legislation against taxpayer money going to abortions.

"Make no doubt about it. There will be no public funds for abortion," Stupak said in announcing the agreement Sunday ahead of the vote on the landmark health care bill.

McCain Repulsed By Health Care Bill ‘Euphoria’

After House vote, GOP senator says angry Americans will challenge the law

WASHINGTON
- Sen. John McCain said Monday morning that Democrats have not heard the last of the health care debate, and said he was repulsed by "all this euphoria going on."

Appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America," McCain, who was President Barack Obama's GOP rival in the 2008 presidential campaign, said that "outside the Beltway, the American people are very angry. They don't like it, and we're going to repeal this."

McCain, who is in a tough Republican primary fight in his home state, said the GOP "will challenge it every place we can," and said there will be reprisals at the polls, in Congress and in the courts.

On the cusp of succeeding where numerous past congresses and administrations have failed, jubilant House Democrats voted 219-212 to approve legislation that would extend coverage to 32 million uninsured Americans, reduce deficits and ban insurance company practices such as denying coverage to people with pre-existing medical conditions.

The House Passed The Overhaul — Now What?

21 out of 22 times, reconciliation legislation has been sent back to House

So, now what?

Relieved Democrats may still be celebrating the passage of landmark health care overhaul legislation, but Republicans in the Senate still have an opportunity to try to derail the bill.

And if history is any guide, they are likely to force the House to vote on health care again before Easter. "Anybody that thinks that this is only going to be a one-time deal today in the House, I think, is grossly mistaken," said Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch on CNN's "State of the Union."

Barack Obama And The Date-Rape Of America

Good Americans from sea to shining sea are grappling right now with how to mentally process what they're witnessing in Washington, D.C.

The spectacle of a far leftist president literally forcing socialized medicine down the throat of an unwilling center-right America is reminiscent, perhaps more than any other contemporary metaphor, of date rape.

A man determined to have his way with a woman may start off seducing her with lies, flattery and the usual pretense of caring about her. But at a critical moment, when she says, "Stop, I'm not comfortable with this and don't want to go any further," he has a choice: Either do the right thing and back off, or abandon all prior pretensions and take her by force.

As president, Barack Obama courted us with sweet talk, but America grew increasingly uncomfortable with his advances and firmly said, "Stop" – in fact, screamed bloody murder for months. Yet Obama remains obsessed with forcing himself on America.

Put aside for the moment the fact that Obama is single-handedly destroying the Democratic Party for years, perhaps decades, by maniacally pursuing Obamacare as though it were Moby Dick and he Captain Ahab, leading all the Pequod's hapless Democrat crewmen into political destruction.

Rather, let's focus on how to truly understand what we're seeing – something virtually unprecedented in the American experience, at least in our lifetimes.

America is not, after all, a place like Cuba or Zimbabwe where corrupt dictators get their way through sheer ruthlessness, intimidation and naked arrogance. We're accustomed to the rule of law, to civility, to due process, even in the most difficult and contentious of times. When Hillarycare was soundly rejected by Americans during Bill Clinton's first term, he wisely backed off and stopped trying to force socialized medicine on us. (And Bill was a guy with his own date-rape problems, but that's another story.)

Tonight America Has Been Irreversibly Changed

It is a sad day in America. Today we took a big step towards becoming the Socialist States of America and towards fiscal bankruptcy. The unaffordable health reform measure will destroy the U.S. economy and the best health care system in the world as well as. The process has been disgustingly corrupt and the bill shreds the constitution. Legislators have chosen to ignore the will of the people.

The President and all of the Democrat leadership have signaled over the last year that this is just the first step towards single payer health insurance (meaning the government). Private insurance is on the way to extinction. We will NOT be able to keep our own insurance because employers will have every incentive to drop coverage and pay the penalty. The private insurance industry is unlikely to exist in five or six years.

Our credit rating is already in jeopardy. Social Security has a $43 trillion unfunded liability. Medicare has a $57 trillion unfunded liability. Yet they pretend that vastly expanding government health insurance is going to reduce the deficit! History proves that this vast expansion of entitlement benefits will result in over-utilization and costs will sky rocket unless care is rationed. This huge expansion of entitlement spending will lead this country into bankruptcy.

Except for the military the government runs nothing effectively or successfully? The Post Office? Fannie Mae? AMTRAK? Social Security? Medicare, Medicaid - all in debt.We can't afford this program or the $560 billion in new taxes that will partly fund it. We can't afford to lose the 1/3 or our doctors that have said they will retire if this bill becomes law.

Health care could have been made more accessible and affordable with some simple free market solutions. The greatest tragedy is that this is not about health care. It is about increasing the power of the federal government and marching the United States down the road to socialism. Our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves at what the new breed of liberals is doing to our Constituition, our economy and our freedoms. America has been irreversibly changed.

Senate Dems Doublecross House?

Breaking: “Fix” Bill May Not Advance In Senate

Senate Democrats Refuse Bi-partisan Meeting With Parliamentarian Until After House Votes

WASHINGTON DC – Senate Democrats have balked at a bi-partisan meeting with the Senate Parliamentarian to discuss a rule violation that could doom the entire House reconciliation proposal.

DON STEWART, McCONNELL SPOKESMAN: “Republicans have been trying to set up a meeting with Senate Democrats since yesterday to discuss this fatal point of order but have been met with nothing but silence. We suspect Democrats are slow walking us so as to have the House vote first. Since Senate Democrats refuse to meet with us and the Parliamentarian, we’ve informed our colleagues in the House that we believe the bill they’re now considering violates the clear language of Section 310g of the Congressional Budget Act, and the entire reconciliation bill is subject to a point of order and rejection in the Senate should it pass the House.”

BACKGROUND

DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP RELEASE: “The Congressional Budget Office estimate of the health care legislation shows an increase in Social Security revenues… CBO projects that the resulting increase in wages will generate $29 billion in additional FICA contributions to the Social Security Trust Fund.” (“Health Care Reform Update,” Office of Rep. Steny Hoyer, 3/21/10)

CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET ACT: “LIMITATION ON CHANGES TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT.—Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any reconciliation bill or reconciliation resolution reported pursuant to a concurrent resolution on the budget agreed to under section 301 or 304, or a joint resolution pursuant to section 258C of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, or any amendment thereto or conference report thereon, that contains recommendations with respect to the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance program established under title II of the Social Security Act.” (Congressional Budget Act Of 1974, Sec. 310g, P. 31)

Team Wargotz: Senators Fiddle While Washington Burns…

The campaign of Commissioner Eric Wargotz, MD issued the following statement regarding the attendance of a dozen Democratic US Senators to a so called reelection event in support of Senator Barbara Mikulski as she appears to begin to organize her campaign against Dr. Wargotz for a fifth six year term.

Commissioner Wargotz said, "anything I can do to get ten Senators out of Washington is a benefit to the citizens of Maryland and the entire country." Wargotz found it odd that these Senators, who have so little to show for their past year in Congress, found time to help Mikulski celebrate anything. "Senators fiddle while Washington burns," he quipped.

In addition to her 10 Senator soire, Mikulksi recently announced that Mandy Grunwald, a prominent Democrat insider with close ties to former US Senator Hilary Clinton, will manage her re-election campaign.

These moves follow Mikulski's unprecedented 12% decrease in voter approval in the latest Rasmussen Poll and persistent (though denied) rumors about her retirement.

Given the shocking victory of Scott Brown's candidacy in Massachusetts, it appears that Mikulski is taking Dr. Wargotz very serious and taking nothing for granted. "Unfortunately," Wargotz stated, "it is too late. Mandy, ten Senators and even Barbara herself, will not be able to convince Marylanders to vote for the status quo and six more years of the same old party politics."

It's very similar to what you predicted.

Tea Party Turns Abusive During Protest

Members of Congress were greeted by the N-word and other derogatory epithets on their way to see the president Saturday.

As the ugly side of the we-don't-want-health-care-reform protests came out, the Tea Party activists' behavior left several lawmakers in shock, reported the Huffington Post:

A staffer for Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told reporters that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) had been spat on by a protestor. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a hero of the civil rights movement, was called a 'ni--er.' And Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) was called a "faggot," as protestors shouted at him with deliberately lisp-y screams. Frank, approached in the halls after the president's speech, shrugged off the incident.

Ban On Automatic Tips Proposed In MD

If you like calculating your waiter's tip instead of a restaurant forcing you to give one, Cheryl Glenn wants to make sure you can.

The Maryland delegate (D-Baltimore City) is sponsoring a bill that would ban restaurants in the state from adding automatic tips for parties of fewer than ten people.

Glenn says automatic tips discourage some waiters and waitresses from providing good service because they know they'll still get their tip.

ALLEGANY CO. MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

(Cresaptown, MD) – An intense and constant search by state and local police in Allegany County has resulted in the capture this afternoon of the man wanted for the murder of a Rawlings man late last night.

Richard J. Glenn II, 23, of the 18000-block of McMullen Highway, Rawlings, Md., was arrested shortly after 4:30 p.m. today in the area of Bel Air, in Allegany County. Maryland State Police are serving an arrest warrant on him, charging him with second degree murder, first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He will be processed and taken before a court commissioner in Allegany County for a bond hearing.

Just before midnight yesterday, Maryland State Police were called to the home of the victim, Matthew G. Golden, 38, in the 16000-block of Rawlings Lane, Rawlings, Md., for a reported shooting. When troopers arrived, they found Golden lying at the bottom of a stairwell that led to the basement entrance of the home where he lived with other relatives. Golden had been able to tell those relatives that he had been shot by the accused. Golden was transported to a Cumberland hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A search for the accused began immediately and continued overnight and throughout today. The search today involved resources from the Maryland State that included the Special Operations Division, K-9 teams, Aviation Command Trooper 5, the Special Apprehension Team, and troopers from the Frederick, Hagerstown, Cumberland and McHenry barracks. Also assisting were officers from the Allegany County Bureau of Police, Cumberland City Police, including their CERT Team, C3I Unit, C3I Narcotics Unit, Natural Resources Police, including their Tactical Response Team, West Virginia State Police, and the Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department. The command vehicle of the Allegany County Department of Homeland Security was used as the command post.

This afternoon, police received information that the accused may be in the area of Cresaptown. Law enforcement officers converged on the region and began a coordinated search of the area. A concerned citizen then called and said someone matching the suspect’s description was in the area of Cedarwood Drive in Bel Air. Police responded to this area and shortly after 4:30 p.m., an officer with the Allegany County Bureau of Police and the C3I Unit spotted Glenn and arrested him without incident.

Following his arrest, Glenn led State Police homicide investigators and detectives from C3I to where he had left the shotgun police believe was used in the murder. The weapon will be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Laboratory for analysis.

An autopsy of the victim’s body today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore confirmed that the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation, with the assistance of the Combined County Criminal Investigation Unit. A motive for the murder has not been identified. It has been determined the accused and victim knew each other and were possibly even friends. The investigation is continuing.

The Maryland State Police wish to thank the concerned citizens of Allegany County who provided leads and information that led to the capture of the accused. Their assistance was greatly appreciated.

Should Children Witness Child Birth?

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very, very dark, so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-year-old girl, to hold a flashlight high over her Mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby. Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked. Heidi pushed and pushed, and after a little while Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry. The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-year old what she thought about what she had just witnessed. Kathleen quickly responded, "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place........ smack his ass again."
